Review 2011 Hotpot Seafood Resturant - Parramatta

I bought the 'all you can eat' yum cha deal. It was $50 for two people, which is pretty good for a buffet. The selection of items was good. All the favourites are there including; steamed buns, bbq pork roll, chicken feet, dumplings, dim sum etc. They have lots of good sweets too. The mango pancake and the sesame balls are great. The egg cups are great too. They are not too sweet, and with a delicious flaky pastry. You have to pay a $2 per person cover charge, and you don't get any drinks included in the price. Overall, this is a good spot for lunch. It's a great deal $$ if you're feeling super hungry. My boyfriend and I managed to get through 11 dishes, so it seemed like good value.

I was craving yum cha and we thought we'd try this place, and i was craving the pork spare ribs dish. The premises was bright and clean, the service was prompt and friendly. However, the food was not as awesome as we were expecting. My partner described the meal as "rubbery", i just thought they could use more punch in their flavour. It wasnt terrible, but it wasnt the best. Bear in mind that we came at the end of yum cha service, so maybe the "goodness" was used up for the beginning of service.

So I pick a Lobster crayfish, and get a larger one that's been from frozen. (NOT FROM THE TANK) and get the bill only to discover my card is unacceptable, they demand cash only. Got ripped again

I didn't have high hopes coming to 2011 but I was pleasantly surprised! We came here for the unlimited All You Can Eat Buffet. The place is clean, modern, and very close to a mid-range restaurant in China. The selection is wide, although I just went for the beef. The unlimited soft drinks, hot soy, fruit juice and icecream were a definitely plus and not something I've seen before. I like how they give patrons the option of shared Hot Pot or individual Mini Pots. The soup was constantly refilled without us having to ask. The staff were amazing! Their service exceeded my expectations of a Chinese restaurant. We were greeted at the door by a smiling face, and our soup orders were taken by a patient warm smile (we had no idea what we were doing and she explained it very well to us, twice). The service throughout the dinner was kind, and even though it was busy there was no frustrated rush to finish serving us. I highly recommend this place if you are looking for a Hot Pot Buffet. When we went on a Sunday, it was $40pp.

Cockroach City. A group of us are just having lunch now, and we’ve just discovered cockroaches in the food. Very horrible. See photo. Won’t be coming back. We advised the manager and they said “we will provide free drinks to say sorry”. We declined because if there’s cockroaches in the food at the table then the kitchen must be riddled with cockroaches. They should have offered us a full refund.

My cousin's family and I dined here for a birthday celebration. The staff members had some difficulty with a bit of communication. The food was great and the cooking of hotpot has to be done with a particular style, that I didn't do well as the broth hardened and started tasting burnt. Also you have to look behind all the vegetables as the meats were hidden and weren't even noticed until they were pointed out. You also get dessert too. The Groupon voucher was pretty worth it might I say.

I was afraid something would go wrong after reading the reviews but when my friend and I arrived, we were greeted and seated without hassle. It was 11:30am so there was very few people at that time. We had a great time and 2 of the staff pushing the trolley were really nice although some staff were very strict like securities - they won't give us dessert until we finish every last bit of the other food we got. So even though some of the food we tried were not very good, they expected us to gobble them up. So thanks to the 2 staff who came to the rescue and still gave us the mango pancake! Their service made all the difference in our experience. :)

The broths they make for the hot pots is great!! I loved the spicy broth they had, and the individual hot pots are a really fun experience. The price is a little steep, however they do have a wide range of food that you can cook in your hot pot, and unlimited drinks. It's a great experience so I'd recommend this. It's a place I'd go to once every 2 or 3 months.

Stop in for dinner. We had hot pot. Which we hadn’t had before. There was so many choices to have. Most of the things we tried were delicious. A couple of items we didn’t like. Trying something New. We enjoyed our evening

Maybe a karaoke for young adult Chinese, but not fit for a family with children nor for non Chinese. All the menus of singing machine is in Chinese and not many songs for their foreigners per menu.

This review is not for hotpot seafood, rather it is the yum cha, which share the same name 2011 at 118 Church St, Parramatta.

We went there because we bought the $50 Groupon voucher for 2 pax. We knew it's condition like 1 hour time limit. What was not made known is that any food that contain prawn will be additional surcharge. So, practically any food that you would expect from typically yum cha dishes are out unless you pay more.

Although the food are ok but was very let down by this lack of information. There's quite a number of dishes that we would like to have but couldn't.

Disappointing service and a lack of communication between the wait staff and our table during yumcha.

Our group had purchased the all-you-can-eat groupon deal to dine in for lunch this weekend and it was the the first time being here for many of us.

Upon sitting down at the table we were told the terms and conditions of the deal and that we had a maximum seating time of one hour and that we were barred from ordering some items off the standard menu, unless we wanted to pay for them seperately. Some of the items on the standard menu that we couldn't order were very typical yumcha dishes that are typically made available everywhere else such as the seafood har gau.

We initially decided to make do with whatever was on the yumcha trolleys that was available to us but quickly realised how limited the selection of food there was. During most of our time there, there were a maximum of 2 to 3 carts being pushed around the restaurant. The restaurant is large and is seperated into 2 rooms. This meant that half the carts that came out of the kitchen were immediately pushed into another room that was not connected to the one we were in. Whatever carts that did manage to make their way to us were the carts that had niche offerings like tripe and bean curd rolls. The same cart that had these offerings and that we refused made their rounds across the restaurant and came back to us several times each time offering us the same selections.

There was no variety in the yumcha food selection that came to our table so we had gotten fed up and asked for the menu to order from. Even a simple order of dim sums were not received by the waitstaff and kitchen. We ordered some baskets of dim sum and after a long wait, only received a fraction of what we asked for and were told that the rest would come out soon. We waited for the rest to come out to our table but after some time decided to check in with another staff member to see how our order was going, and they quickly replied telling us that the item was no longer available before walking off.

We've had multiple instances of this happening to us, including being told that there were egg tarts being made and would come out and we ordered some but much later finding out that they ran out and couldn't help us.

These miscommunications between the staff and the kitchen left us hopeful only to be disappointed by a scarce menu and a rather average quality of food that did manage to hit out tables.

Apart from the tasty and well made chicken feet that we enjoyed, the pork har gau and beef rice noodles were thick and too glutinous. The filling was nice, but the texture of the meat was offset by the thick wrapper that held it together. The fried selection was limited to chives and chicken spring rolls and there were some items that we tried that we normally wouldn't order (because of the lack in variety on offer) such as the pork meat balls and shiort ribs, which were also not that outstanding in my opinion. It was very clear that they were missing some of the staple dishes that they said they offered on their website such as carrot cake and fried taro pork mince balls.

My group left the all-you-can-eat buffet hungry and disappointed and I don't think we will be returning here.

We went for the all you can eat yum cha today. Was running late for the bookimg time I made but they waited 20 minutes for us.
Food was great and authentic. Again for the price of the dishes, even without the voucher its worth it. Staff were really friendly and happy to explain to us what was in the dishes.

Got a groupon for all you can eat hotpot with unlimited soft drinks. So this restaurant is split up into 2 rooms. One is tabled with tables with electric stoves for hotpot while the other place is for ordering cantonese Chinese food.

The quality of the food was pretty typical Chinese - all the meat was frozen and ingredients were not fresh. However, great variety of options and super good value for money. There was a mix of meat skewers, seafood, typical hotpot veggie ingredients, frozen meat slices, fried rice, noodles, buns and chicken wings. And to add to this, you had unlimited access to cans of soft drink! Oh and depending on where you are seated, you will get either a mini pot or the big hot pot. I was confused initially as I was wondering why we were getting such small pots instead of the big one to share.

The service was also hit and miss. The waitress was super polite, friendly and welcoming while the waiter was a little careless and did not speak much English. This gave me mixed feelings about the service as my mood went from a little frustrated to pleased!

We got the spicy soup and the mushroom soup. Spicy soup was actually pretty spicy but lacked any strong aroma (other than the peppers). The mushroom soup was lacking any flavour other than of salt. Pretty sure both broths had a good dose of msg too! Given the price I paid and what I was expecting, I think this place was ok. Definitely worth it with the groupon (I think I got it for $55 for 2?) but probably would not go back for full price.

I had been to this restaurant a few times in the past, it was always pleasant. But it was a huge disappointment tonight. There was a big pullup banner at their front door promoting a few seafood special deals. We walked in and was told the offers were no longer available, in fact the prices had gone back up for a week. False advertising is illegal in Australia! And I doubt any customer would appreciate dishonest business practices that have been used to lure them in.

I got the groupon voucher for the all-you-can-eat yum cha which is absolutely fantastic and value for money. The food were the same as the other yum cha restaurants I've been to, I didn't expect anything more. Service was fine and friendly, I would recommend this place. I'm not sure what their full price are, but with the groupon voucher, I have no doubt that you will probably enjoy this place with a fantastic price.

Came here for brunch with my friends. All dishes were not bad but not much variety. Service was reasonable and friendly:) mango pudding was yum. They also have seafood restaurant next to yum cha restaurant.

Me and my wife went here for yumcha and hot pot many times in the past a few weeks. Great service and the food were great! We will be back for sure :)

I had all you can eat yum cha with a groupon coupon. Best service i ever had at Chinese restaurants. Waitress kept coming to refill water in teapot without me asking. Good dim sum, taste much better than the one in Westfield Parramatta. Even without coupon, all dim sum plates are $6(except public holiday).
