Review New Rios - Parramatta

Luis Wu
Everything tastes the same, and they try to fill you up with all different types of sausages. Pretty much not much value in it. Even pineapple tastes a bit weird. Definitely not recommend

Went for dinner the first time at Rio’s and we had a blast. Parking is easy so long as theres no game at Parra stadium, otherwise it is a struggle. The atmosphere is fun and you can join the dancing with the Samba girls on the floor. A family friendly place to go to unwind. Buffet on the weekend, do give them a call for details. The only downside for us was the food was a bit salty to our taste but other than that, if you love a meaty buffet, then try this place out. it is highly recommended.

We had an event here with 45 people on a Saturday night. Food was plentiful and tasty and enjoyed by all guests. Additionally, the dancers provided a great, fun atmosphere and even had a dance with the birthday boy. Great music played until late. Only downfall is that with so many of us, the seating was a bit tight!

A large variety of foods included in the buffet and drinks in addition to choose from. We feel pampered! Will definitely come back, would recommend!

The place had nice service, but overall the food came really fast which gave me the idea that the food just got heated up in the microwave, and is not fresh. The toilets were dirty, uncleared and smelly. And some foods didn’t taste so fresh, the cup and fork they gave me were dirty, the cup had a red stain on it, and the fork had a white substance on it. Just by that it gave me the mood to not eat anything. The food is also very pricey, wouldn't recommend. I’m only giving a one star because of the nice service.
Elizabeth Calland
The food was amazing and the dancers are show stopping. At the end of the evening after the show you can dance the night away.

Food could have been much better although, the atmosphere was nice. The dance show was awesome and the ending with the DJ he played some good dancing music. I would definitely recommend this place to friends and family.

This place has been around for a while from memory. Only just recently went here on a Friday evening. Pending the day, it's under $50 pp for an all you can eat Brazilian BBQ. You're served with a range or meats, given salads etc. Food was tasty and great. Entertainment thrown in later in the evening. The space is huge and when I went there, only a small portion was filled (maybe 30-40 people) but it felt almost empty. I walked away feeling bad over how empty it was compared to the available space. The food and service there definitely warrants it to be packed!

Had a much better experience than expected!<br/><br/>We were gifted two vouchers for the regular banquet. Looking at the reviews here, we were expecting a pretty bad experience, but we turned out to be very pleasantly surprised. So, although we didn't ourselves pay for this meal, we would have happily and will most likely come again.<br/><br/>Having been quite a few times to a good Brazilian Churrasco restaurant in Brisbane, we were comparing Rios to that, and while it doesn't necessarily feel "authentic" in every aspect, it was nowhere near as bad as some have suggested.<br/><br/>Ambience:<br/>At first it felt a bit awkward, since we were the only ones in the restaurant at 7pm on a Friday night. To be fair though, it was summer and still light outside and the other Church St restaurants weren't exactly swinging yet either. Over time (around 8 o'clock), the restaurant did fill out a bit more with more tables joining, which improved the atmosphere.<br/><br/>The decor is a bit dated and doesn't quite fit with the general vibe of the Church St restaurant precinct. I think some quick wins could be had here by lowering the lighting a bit and reducing the number of tables set out if the restaurant isn't expected to be as busy. This would help create a bit more of an intimate atmosphere, which Brazilian churrasco dining is known for.<br/><br/>Given the size of the dining area, a black or dark-coloured curtain could be pulled across halfway down the room at the beginning of the night, then pulled back if the restaurant started to fill up and more seating was needed. That way you'd avoid the sense of the restaurant being empty.<br/><br/>To be honest, I don't think the entertainment the restaurant sometimes has is really necessary (dancers and DJ). I didn't feel like were were missing anything when it was cancelled for the evening. Again, the atmosphere and experience would benefit more from a more intimate, relaxed setup.<br/><br/>Service:<br/><br/>The staff were really friendly and professional and greeted and served us wonderfully. This included (we're fairly sure) the manager, who throughout the evening seemed genuinely proud of the establishment and eager to please.<br/><br/>We experienced NONE of the rudeness alleged in some of the reviews and found the staff and service to be nothing but friendly, respectful and attentive. We also were not asked to pay cash up from for drinks or pay any deposits upfront, although the online booking website did mention that. Maybe get rid of that from the website if it's no longer expected?<br/><br/>Food:<br/>This was the highlight of the evening and what we were most pleasantly surprised about! Some of the criticisms that have been levelled are technically true, but perhaps the harshness is a reflection of past experiences that people have had here. I get the impression that the restaurant has changed management, because things like only getting one type of meat or the meat being overly salted simply wasn't the case in our experience.<br/><br/>After ordering drinks, the first thing you are served is your cold sides: garden salad, rocket salad, fresh salsa (chopped tomato, spanish onion, coriander, etc) and sauces (very nice chilli sauce, salsa verde and aioli) and potato salad, which I actually found to be as good as the more expensive Churrasco places we've been to and as far as I know, quite authentic. Nothing spectacular, but nice to have a bit of fresh greenery and pretty consistent with what we've been served at other Churrasco restaurants (and the potato salad is great!). We were missing the cassava flour though. :(<br/><br/>Next you're brought your hot sides. Here is where some will be put off. You're served a HUGE plate of chips (fried potato chips as you'd find in most kebab shops or Lebanese/shawarma restaurants), garlic bread (dinner rolls cut in half and spread with garlic butter), cheese bread balls (authentic Brazilian!), big bowl of coconut rice (didn't think this was a Brazilian thing but apparently it is?), and a biiiiiig bowl of black beans. This is all fine and could actually be what Brazilians have as sides.<br/><br/>I think though, it would be better to have smaller bowls of sides, with guests able to request more if they wish. The chips (which are actually good and I'd be happy to have them with a kebab) would probably be better replaced with a few cassava chips, which are a bit more exotic and go nicely with the meat spices. They were also heavily salted, which made us even more thirsty given the hot weather. The waiter kindly brought us a jug of iced water though. The garlic bread is also unnecessary but some may appreciate it.<br/><br/>Which brings us to the main event: the meat.<br/><br/>The meat was amazing.<br/><br/>It started off a bit slow, but picked up and soon were were getting all kinds of skewers of meat coming at us: Beef, lamb, pork neck, chorizo sausage, chicken wing, chicken breast, Portuguese chicken, beef rump steak... We couldn't fit it all in! I don't buy the claim that they are trying to fill you up on sides, they were PLENTY generous with the meat! For the most part it was juicy and tender with a beautifully charred rub/marinade on each. A couple of the meats seemed slightly overdone, but this was probably due to the cut of meat and the way it was seasoned.<br/><br/>By the time dessert (deep-fried banana and grilled cinnamon pineapple) came around, we were absolutely stuffed.<br/><br/>In short, there is certainly room for improvement, but I would absolutely recommend Rios to anyone (except vegetarians. Honestly, what are you doing going to a Brazilian barbeque restaurant if you don't eat meat?).<br/><br/>Thank you for a very pleasant dinner!
Bbebe
This is not Brazilian so it is false advertising. The entertainment was a belly dancer for 40 mins. The food is not good, they put cold chips and salads and then hardly pass around with food. There was barely any beef,it was all chicken and chorizo, same repetitive cheap cuts. We went home and made ourselves food since we barely ate. I would not recommend this place at all, there were not many people so I think others know this place is deceiving. Everyone in my group were as disappointed as me. Only gave 1 star because you have to give a rating, they don't even deserve that
Bngtj
Poor service. Even though tje restaurant promised long list of Grill and sides. Not all the item listed in the menu are served. The waiter need to be constantly reminded for the food. Disappointing... do not waste time with this restaurant.<br/>

Came here due to a group function and the whole group thought it was horrid maybe apart from 1 person out of 20 people as he has no pallet! <br/>This is an insult to Brazilian or Latin American cuisine, operated by Indians, so first of all I think the culture is already lost?! <br/>Meat is either overly salty, or burnt. Only chicken was decent and maybe chips. Who serves deep fried fish, and deep fried banana as part of a Brazilian course? And then super cheesy vegetables and over the meat too, it looked so unappealing that everyone actually passed on it! <br/>This restaurant is huge but we were the only table!<br/>Lastly the grilled pineapple that came last tasted off, just purely disgusting, worst restaurant to date I’ve been in Sydney!
Frankiieshungrytummy
Pretty good food here. <br/>Only downside is that if you want all you can drink soft drink, the whole table has to have it. <br/>Been here three times now but was disappointed last night as they didn't have ribs on the menu so it must vary from day to day. <br/>Other than that, the service isn't too bad and neither is the entertainment. <br/>You can have a little dance after the entertainment so can have a good night out.
Charlize Wu
Hv an nightmares in this restaurant, every things full of salt from inside to outside , can't stop drinking. Waste my money here. Highly recommended get there before have a consideration. Never been there like that.
Cassandra Wilson
Save your money and NEVER come to this place. <br/>Food was ridiculously awful. Meat was overcook. None of those food that you served was "Brazilian". Pity this place has so much potential. They need to revamp this place and change the management and staffs.
MrM
The worst restaurant I have ever been to in sydney!! It really is a shame because the place has so much potential. They have a great location and a very big space to accomodate over 80 guests. This place should be going off every weekend. There is definitley something wrong with management. Gordon Ramsay needs to come in and fix this place.<br/><br/>1. The food was not restaurant quality nor authentic brazilian. Use fresh ingredients! The lamb and beef were all over cooked. Really tough to eat. I'm pretty sure it was defrosted meat that they were using. I'd reccomend they source their meat from a good quality butcher that sells grass fed beef and lamb.<br/>The menu needs to be changed! There needs to be more meat and vegetarian options. Who ever manages this place needs to have a passion and love for food. If not then you don't deserve to run this business and call it a brazilian steakhouse. And don't even call it a steakhouse! <br/><br/>2. Stop going around serving a stock standard salad in a plastic bowl!! Salads should be served on the table as a side!!! <br/><br/>3. The floor manager looked like she was hating life. You need to smile more. Engage in converstaion with your customers. You need to make people want to come again to your restaurant.<br/><br/>4. Music too loud. Couldnt hear half the people across the table from me. Trying to have a conversation was difficult.<br/><br/>5. The decor was just boring. There is no love given to this venue. You run a brazilian restaurant in the heart of busy church st! Look into new tables, chairs and plates. Decorate the place for gods sake. Add colour. Make it look and feel like brazil! Put up framed soccer jerseys like crinitis does. Look into brazilian artwork that you can put up. If you look at brazas they display their slow cooked meats in a glass window which is pretty cool.<br/><br/>6. Service from the floor manager was attrocious. She asked me to pay for my drink straight away at the table while I was eating. Even worse, they gave us the bill quite early into the night. Who even does that? Why make people pay then sit down and eat your shitty food. Get rid of your prepaid service!! Its not doing your restaurant any good. If you want to keep it then start serving quality food!<br/><br/>7. The dancers oh my god. Any Brazilian would be insulted from seeing that. I understand the dancers were lovely people but you're running a brazilian restaurant! The performance didnt even look or feel brazilian. As brutal as it sounds you need to get rid of them. You need to spend money to make money. Hire Brazilian dancers who know what they are doing!<br/><br/>Conclusion. It's quite sad that a venue in a great location is being managed by incompetent people. You have a big money maker in your hands and you're being lazy! Pull your heads out of your asses! Be smart and think of ways how you can improve. I can tell you that nothing is being done about it. You have the potential to fix this place and bring in more customers. Only hard work can turn this place around so I beg the owner to do some research and and find out ways to improve. Go visit brazas in darling harbour to set yourself a target. You can be better than brazas. You just need a love for food and the determination to exceed expectations.<br/><br/>

Not a family friend place, and misleading by making people believe that it's all you can eat, no sense of customer service either, NOT RECOMMENDED AT ALL

Worst experience ever! It was supposed to open at 6pm. We arrived at 5:50 and were told not ready yet. We were seated around 6:20 and the sides were ready to serve around 6:30. Meat was not served until almost 7........limited choices of sides and only 4-5 types of meats(but what they show at advertisement are around 15 types of meats). Food was sooooo salty which was probably the best tactic to sell drinks. Meat wasn't tasty nor of good quality. Show started around 8:30.....I didn't think it worthed the money even I used the coupon... By the way, the restaurant looks quite old and has got a not really pleasant smell..........<br/>

I do not recommend this place not much meat going around they want you to fill up on chips, pasta, rice and salad. If you go on Saturday and pay the extra price for the show be prepared as the show always is late so don't come too early for dinner. Twice I have been, only coming back the second time to see if they have improved by no two years in between and no better second time. Even this time there were plenty of spare tables

I went here for lunch on Sunday, it's not as good as Braza (Darling Harbour). The meat was either too dry or mostly flavourless, and the sides were lacking. The salads were basic, and the peri peri chicken was very bland. The crumbed banana was okay, though. It's meant to be "all you can eat" but the options seem fairly limited, it doesn't seem like it's worth it. The restaurant was also blaring loud pop English music which ruined the ambience a little - it would've been nicer if a more traditional style of music was playing.

This is actually one of the worst restaurants I have ever been too. If you've ever been to a real Brazilian restaurant then you will be thoroughly disappointed in this one. Instead of skewered meat, they have people coming around with bowls of meat. The sides are also sad. I will never return and I encourage you not to waste the money.
Seems
booked through their website at the insistence of one "customer service' person.Received an email confirming my booking but, when i turned up, found the restaurant locked. Was told that it was closed for 'renovations';they claimed they had tried to contact me by phone and had emailed me.there was no email in my inbox or spam and no missed calls on my phone.<br/>No attempt at redressal was made and i was nonchalantly advised to try again later. Very sullen and uncooperative when i asked to be put through to the manager.<br/>Luckily i had purchased a deal through a voucher company who agreed to cancel my voucher and re-credit my money.<br/>Shiver to think how I would have dealt with them directly.

Terrible!I had a group of 10 for a family farewell. Service was friendly and quick. The show was good fun. The food at the time tasted OK, but..... we all ended up sick afterwards. Every one of us!The place clearly has some hygiene issues. And on top of that, we couldn't even order a tea or coffee or desert, it was alcohol or soda or nothing. Would not recommend to anyone.

We were in and out within 20-25 minutes. <br/>Everything was overlooked, expensive for little to no service, interior looks like a canteen, we were put on a huge table away from the food and music (only 2 of us, and there were plenty of empty smaller tables), waiters were uninterested and rude, show wasn't on time, cash only as eftpos wasn't working, had to pay for things on the spot as we ordered them (drinks etc) which was very unusual and we left unsatisfied... <br/>Don't let the blingy sign out the front fool you...
Greg
Our friends invited is for a Groupon voucher meal here. The bad experience was no different than all the other negative reviews. <br/><br/>Staff tried hard, with the guy who served the meat being super friendly and efficient, BUT the owner/manager was constantly chasing and reprimanding him. Very disorganised and way understaffed.<br/><br/>Once it got busy the service of the food got so slow and trays would be empty by the time it got to you. <br/><br/>Salad, chips and fish were the only plus, whilst the beef, chicken and lamb smothered in garlic. Definitely no Brazilian flavours here. And lastly, the toilets are uncared for - men's urinal leaking and flooding the floor.

We booked for  Australia day and the  on line booking was accepted. When we went to the restaurant ,it was closed. A 30 kilometre round trip was wasted.Who was the brains behind this stuff -up?We returned a few days later without booking. The outlet was  almost empty.Only a few other tables were occupied. Service was very friendly  and fast and the drink prices were reasonable. Initially we were offered the sides and  chips were  also offered a  couple of times. Then came  chicken which was offered   three times. I guess that was to  fill up out stomachs on the cheap side so that we  would eat less meat.( an old trick). When the meat did arrive it was   very good and cooked  beautifully. An hour and fifteen  minutes  later whilst waiting for more food, we were told that the kitchen was closed. This was  at 8.20pm on a   Thursday night. So much for the 'all you can eat' as advertised. We were still hungry and wanted more food..We had been here a long time ago and were very disappointed. We decided to give it another go . When we were told that the kitchen was closed at such an early time and without advance notice, we   decided that we would never return.

I attended a friend's 50th birthday party here. The place would seat about 300 and it was cramped, we were sitting elbow to elbow. Being a churrasco restaurant staff would walk around with the food, there were maybe 10 staff attempting to serve 300 people.<br/><br/>Food was dry, there was no texture to the meat.<br/><br/>I ordered a coke, 15 minutes later I asked where my coke was and was told it would be brought out in 5 minutes. 10 minutes later I navigated my way through crowded walkway due to the table arrangement and ordered a coke at the bar instead.<br/><br/>More staff needs to be put on to improve service, tables in my view should be further apart to allow diners easy throughfare.

I just attended the worst Brazilian steakhouse ever for the $45 price per person the 8 of us paid. We got an average dance show with the same format I had witnessed in other places but most importantly we were only offered 1 piece of chicken and 1 sausage each literally!!!! We naturally asked them for more and they brought us a dish of cold left ovets. I am embarrased to have invited my friends to this place and would not recommend to anyone. Please do yourself a favour and don't waste your time and money in this place.<br/>

Work Xmas dinner was quite interesting this year to say the least. Last year I wasn't in Aus for Christmas, but from what I heard there wasn't any dinner. The year before the food was pretty bad, and not worth taking photos of. This was my first time having Brazilian. Didn't realise such a big dinner place existed on the 1st level (up the stairs from the main street). It was a buffet but with table service, so they come around with the meat asking if you want it or not. I guess that way it reduces wastage of food, and they don't have to overcook, and you don't have to get up/down. The bad thing is that if they ran out or you missed it, that item never came back. I since there were only 2 main tables that night, they wouldn't cook another whole roast of something just for one person who missed out on that dish...
Sweetandyummie
This place is ok but probably if your first options fail. Take friends that are not foodies and you will be fine. This is a very average Brazillian restaurant with buffet style eating in the evenings. They have entertainment on Friday and Saturday nights and it does get quite busy.
Chinchin9
Worst steakhouse ever. Serve cold chips, old garden salad and while we went there, there were two other groups, they serve the meat constantly but as the group came in so much earlier, when they started their desert, we only have 5 different meats served and they stopped serving us. After 20 minutes, we requested if they stopped serving, they said we will get it ready soon. They just didn't care at all. After that the lady came out and served us old meat we believe, probably just microwaved the leftovers and took the meat on a plate and served us. They have so many items on the menu, however, they just served only 5 items keep circulating them. We felt like we ate the old food on the second round and we said no thanks. She asked us if we want to start our desert. And we finished after our desert ready to get home, not to spend a minute there to eat the rubbish. All they want to do is to sell drinks. We paid $39 each but I won't spend another dollar to this place ever again.

I never leave reviews but i had to stop anyone interested in going to this place!!! Absolute crap. First impressions, i thought i was at Hall, bad receception or similiar. That wouldnt be a problem if the food was good. So we paid $60 a head, it was two of us. we bought a few drinks, spent about $160 for the worst food i have ever had. Lets start with the service, they really have no idea. Seemed like a deer in head lights. The food,The meat was dry, not seasoned bad tasting, Chicken actually awkward tasting! Scary!  Chips seasoned strangely. There wasnt anything that you could say Oh thats Nice! Im Argentinian and i have been to south american, brazillian Churrascaria (meat places) and let me tell you this is not brazillian. I truely believe that they may be asain or indian pretending to be brazilian restaurantors. Dont expext to see meat cooked on coals or BBQ . Nothing like that. The last place i went to was Braza Churrascaria in Darling harbour. That place is the real deal and i was expecting similiar. This place cost me more and i literally walked out of the place in 30min.. They gave us this woolworths or coles  bought icecream the size of a 50 cent coin with a mini plastic spoon, i swear its something they give kids at kindergarden , NO JOKE!  This place will not last, i will be surprised if its still there in a years time. I honestly thought i was on Gordon Ramsey restaurant nightmare show!!! Save your self the trouble , Money and go somewhere else!!

Worst place ever, Same meat, Chips, waitiers were nice, wouldnt spend a $1 to come here again.<br/><br/>Avoid at all costs, used groupon to get here, they try and get you to buy drinks, no prawns as promised and said there was 3 new meats to the menu..... total of 4 meat, go gather

It was my son's birthday and my daughter booked this restaurant for a dinner for 6. I was really shocked to find that this restaurant served day old food - food prepared and not sold the day before and brought to table again in the same bowls etc. We needed several plates to offload most of the food portions as they were not fresh and wholesome food. And by the way the waiter said they have plenty of plates I could use for that purpose. Bad experience, very bad food and very very bad habit of reselling food. Patrick.
Caloy Buloy Gutier
The photos on the web are FAR from reality. The Brazilian performers were not even Brazilians! Food was below average which is no where near its worth. <br/><br/>If you want good food for $50 per head, stay away from this place by all means. Maccas is way better than this in terms of service and quality. This restaurant's a joke
Boby
Worst restaurant ever!. The food was soggy and Old and very bad service! Just don't go, you'll waste the money
Dontaskseriously
It was okay. I've been to 4-5 churrasco places and I'd say this one probably ranks as the worst. <br/><br/>The sides weren't memorable as a whole, but we did love the fried bananas and pineapple. Wasn't a big deal since generally I try to limit the amount of sides I have to save room for the meat anyway. <br/><br/>The meat, the star of the menu, was okay at best and a bit hit and miss. Some were deliciously tender, like the garlic beef, but some were way too overcooked. This is the only place I've been to where most of the meat comes pre cut off a plate rather than cut straight off a skewer, which kind of lessens the experience for me. <br/><br/>The flow of meat was quite good when we arrived (around 7pm) but it does die down as show time approaches (8:30pm). Definitely get there 7pm at the latest if you're there predominantly for the food.<br/><br/>The actual restaurant decor is its worst feature. Practically none of it was indicative of it being a Brazilian place. No decor at all, walls were blank other than a couple of pictures of Brazilian dancers. The actual setting looked more like a cafeteria than a restaurant. <br/><br/>We went on show night and I found the show quite fun. Two female dancers and a male who did a few dances and then had some audience members up to do a dance competition of sorts. Stick clear of the show if you're the type that doesn't like being put on the spot. The host may come up to you and make you do things, potentially even dance in front of everyone. One poor lady was forced to dance with a random man despite it being obviously very uncomfortable for her.<br/><br/>Overall can't really complain for $26 (scoopon deal), but can't see myself going back. Would never pay the full price for this place ($49), far too overpriced for what you get.
Pureaberration
Don't know what everyone is complaining about. The meat was an almost constant flow, It was also very delicious. I highly recommend the chicken hearts. We had no problems with the wait time, or the variety. We did go on a Thursday night, so maybe the day makes the difference. Four stars

Okay. Used a living social coupon and it was alright

Not sure if restaurant or bloopers scene. Worst dining exleriance and confident to say this will be the worst ill ever experiance they brang out meat on plates not skewers. we had 4 dofferent types as opposed to the 18 listed. ill give this place another month before its closed down.
Grace Yue
TOTALLY Disappointed!!!!!. Food options are very limited. Only 5 or 6 BBQ meat including sausages, one type of seafood, served approximately every 20-25 minutes. Taste is no better than food from food court. Actually food court may taste better. It was said on their website, there will be live Latin show on Fridays and Saturdays from 7pm, but there was nothing on a Friday night. There is one staff standing at the buffet side dishes area, watching how much food each customer put on their plates, makes people feel very uncomfortable. Anyway, this is a totally and very very disappointed experience. It's the very first time and will be the LAST TIME we go there. Never go back!!!!!
Zebedee
Very poor. Had Xmas party here. Can't think of a good thing to say. Food was scarce, one tiny bowl of rice between 6. Waiting an age for the meats to come around and when it came around, it was only average. Total rip off compared to other churascco joints. There is a reason this place has a rating in the 20 percents. <br/>Thought of something positive, the chicks wasn't bad. <br/>Sorry guys, will never return, much better options around.
John
Best show ever! Yummy food, nice staff. But yeah slow to bring food out and unorganised. However, this didn't really detract from the great evening!
Tiff
Okay food. We used liviging social voucher for this and it was okay. Would not pay $39 for this though. Staff was nice and tried to be helpful but still very unorganised. The food was good. However they sat us (table of 6) very far away from the main spaces in the restaurant and it was extremely difficult to order food as by the time the meat come around it was either cold or finished. We had to wait for about 15 minutes for everytime the meat come out (so we ate alot of sides and that was what filled us up). If you come to this restaurant I recommend asking to sit near the kitchen or come in a big group so the waiter can serve you better.
Stooge
Buyer beware....Severely overpriced and no value for money. The only good thing I can about this restaurant is it's fantastic entertainment, apart from that there is zero value for money. Was charged 50dol a head for "all you can eat" , food was cold and was not brought frequently. Staff we're not friendly and were not helpful at all.
Itin85
My husband and I dined here three times and the recent experience was really bad.<br/>We bought voucher for All you Can eat from Scoopon and ended up really disappointed.<br/>There was barely any all-you-can-eat food, more like wait-all-you-can. Barely any customer service and poor variety of food .<br/>It used to be better when we visited in July last year. What happened after our last visit?<br/>This place won't be around for long if they don't fix it.<br/>Don't buy the deal, disappointing!
Mutiara.austriana
Poor service. I was there for all you can eat dinner last Saturday night with my bf. The waitress that took care of us kept talking up how they had 15 amazing meats that were going to be served that night. We were there for 2 hours and only got served 5 different meats. 2 which were pig products that I do not eat anyway. The side dishes were all you can eat aswell, but think there aim was to get us full on the side dishes rather then the churasco meats. The meats were not served very often, on average every 20 minutes. And that was one slice of freaken meat. Side dishes were nice. That is all.
Shaiza.husna
Horrible!. Worst dining experience ever! Food was bland and dry - when the waiters decided to bring it to us. We gamy got any meat. The dancing was ok but not worth the money. The host was an absolute joke. <br/>Waste of money
Gaurav Malhotra
Flavourless Food. This was definitely our worst dining experience during our stay in Sydney ! There was little 'Brazillian' about this place. The service was good but the food was a great disappointment. The meat (sirloin steak, pork belly, lamb shanks and chicken wings) was undercooked and lacked marination. Moreover, we only had a choice of a friend banana or a baked pineapple for desert. I wouldn't recommend this joint.

These guys won't be around too much longer.... Rio's Brazilian bbq was one of the worst dining experiences ever.<br/><br/>We had 4 vouchers for a bbq meat platter so we booked in with anticipation as I had heard good things about other Brazilian bqq places. Rio's made short work of dashing my expectations.<br/><br/>In short - Poorly trained staff, bad customer service, below average quality food, awful dancing/entertainment.<br/><br/>The meats were dry and mostly bland. It seemed like the platters were made up from whatever leftovers they had in the kitchen. The included sauces were delivered to our table a full 5 minutes after the meals and only after we asked for them 3 times. We could see other patrons being served meats off the skewers and noted that the server was coming from the kitchen each time with half full or almost empty skewers only giving out small portions before returning to the kitchen to return again with another half empty skewer!<br/><br/>We then had our senses assaulted with loud music, awful dancers and a useless host. After 2 songs, we left what was on our plates and vacated the restaurant. Perhaps they should ask people if they want to be seated right next to the dancefloor.<br/><br/>I tried to contact the management about our experience but they have not responded. That about sums it up.

Without a doubt the worst dining experience of my life! I honestly can't find the words to do this place the justice it deserves. I guess I should've been smart enough to heed the warning signs beforehand but I didn't want to be too quick to judge. The first warning sign was the 20% rating this place had on urbanspoon. The second warning sign was when we walked into a huge restaurant at 8:30pm on a Sunday night to find that we were the ONLY customers! I mean, this place is on the busiest intersection in parramatta...every other place was packed full! The decor was very basic and not even remotely Brazilian - it looked like a huge function centre. The air con wasn't on and they had a few huge and noisy industrial fans on instead. The floor underneath our table was dirty and had rubbish that hadn't been cleaned up. Just when we thought that this experience couldn't get any worse, the food arrived...I can't even begin to describe how inedible, tasteless, and the low quality of the meats served to us was. The waitress would serve us a new cut of meat only to find the previous cut still intact on our plates. You could tell they were completely unmotivated and demoralised working there. Regardless of this, we stayed almost till the end just to give them a fair go but ultimately we finally gave up after trying the prawns. We skipped dessert, thanked the waitresses and left. My advice - save your money and eat elsewhere. This place needs some serious work and I will advise all of my friends and family to stay away

Rios Brazilian - Where Do I Begin. Rios Brazilian is a pathetic attempt for a restaurant. The staff have no concept of service, let alone Customer Service & this trickles down from the Manager Ed.<br/>They are misleading, difficult to communicate with and not helpful.<br/>I would not recommend this poor excuse for a restaurant to anyone & cannot believe they are still operating, based on the disgraceful & disgusting service I have received.

Worst Restaurant I have ever being to.. It was a horrible experience having dinner at Rio Brazilian Parramatta last Saturday, made a booking via the net and when arrived there was no table allocated, took the waiter around 30 minutes before our drink order was taken, the staff were running around with no direction, the food arrived 45 minutes later and was tasteless and horrible, dripping in fat.<br/>there was no Brazilian touch to the food at all, the different food varieties were served at a very had-hoc basis and very samll portions.<br/>A total waste of $300, had a sick feeling leaving the place.

I was reading previous reviews about this resto and saw heaps of negative comments. Didnt have high hopes when we went there... Just thought we better use up our coupon anyway. We were amazed how good the service and food are :-) really enjoyed the experience! We ordered some sangria which came very soon. My siblings and i were just too full to get up from our chairs :-) we did enjoy it and the staff were very nice!

Was an ok night i guess.. We ate there last night and was a little disappointed, However we only paid $29pp + Drinks through a promotion a lady was giving out on the street at Parramatta. <br/>The show was short but good at the same time. The Salad/sauce buffet got taken away when the meat plate was brought to our table which was a little crap because no sauces came with the meats. Some meats were a little dry, Salads were delicious, Jug of coke (from the bottle) was about $10 which we thought was reasonable.. <br/>Not sure if we will return.

Loved it. Went on a Sunday night. Bargain $39. Food was great, fresh and tasty. Service and staff were fantastic and fast. Overall, it was an enjoyable dining experience.

We arrived at this restaurant at around 7.30pm. After being seated at our table for around 15 minutes, a waiter finally told us we could get 'chicken and salad'from the buffet against the wall. We were served a few pieces of skewered fatty rump, pork, pork chorizo and pork belly, none of which reminded us of Brazilian BBQ food we have enjoyed elsewhere ( no stuffed meats etc).A plate of very stewed prawns was also offered. After a short while the food stopped coming. We decided to sit and wait, as we felt that $49 was a lot to pay for a plate of lukewarm sides and maybe 6 small pieces of meat. The buzzer system on the table did not work. When more food came out we were bypassed by waitstaff and had to ask for service. Obviously the customer does not decide when the have had enough to eat in this "all you can eat" (not) restaurant. We are really disappointed and would not recommend you eat here.

WORST DINING EXPERIENCE EVER! We booked a table for 2 with a pram, when we arrived we are coupon for $35pp they told us that only is valid for week nights, no where on the coupon or the website when we booked was this stated, so we paid our $49pp ...More

Went there For a work function! Everyone was disappointed !! The only thing good was the Brazilian dancers
D_poole83
Horrible. We bought vouchers online for a ribs deal to be told on arrival there were no ribs as the were having problems with them so we were upgraded which we were disappointed with but accepted. the manager then came out to tell us that we were eating salads from the upgraded meal and she could organise ribs if we wanted because the upgraded meal was more expensive. we said we were fine & wanted to leave it how it was... we should have got up and left. the food was disgusting, the sides were a buffet mix of hospital tasting food & hot chips & the 'brazilian' meats were pathetic. the staff stood around talking to each other and we all went home feeling sick k. i would not advise anyone to go there ever.

Disappointed - Lunch Special. Had the $15 Lunch special....they call it a platter...very misleading...tiny bits of meat and chicken and 2 green leafs..I get more chips in small pack at McDonald.

Went there for valentines day and never had Brazilian food that tasted that bad , never never again , DISGUSTING

Has to be the same place. But its not Church St, its on corner of Church and Phillip, upstairs. Ordered ribs for two, plenty of them came to table. Staff were great, but it was a very quiet night with only eight tables running. Ribs were reheated .... lamb ribs were poor quality. Wanted to take uneaten ribs home (which were paid for, and legally mine) and was told that "management did not allow this" Why the feck not ? It's MY food. Overall, poor value for money. No entertainment on our night, but I would not enjoy high volume while dining, so just as well. Parking is a nightmare.

Fun place and filling food. We bought scoopons for this place. We were a group of 8.<br/>The food was alright. They tried to follow the Brazilian style serving, bringing food regularly to your table as part of the buffet, they offer you different kinds of meat eg.pork, seafood, beef, chook, duck sometimes and keep offering and serving you until you are full and have to say "no more thanks".<br/>Beers and drinks were a bit of a pain, having to go to their bar all the time and pay in cash for every single drink because the waiters would not take orders for drinks. Gay entertainment, live DJ and dance floor. It was a good night.

Despite what I had read in reviews I went to this place with my boyfriend and loved it!<br/>The food was great and the staff were helpful<br/>There was a great variety of food and it is a meat lovers dream<br/>It is worth noting that we were there on a weeknight and it was my overly busy<br/><br/>My boyfriend and I both loved it and how to go back soon!

Not so good. We bought vouvhers for the 'All you can eat Ribs' & it was awful. The ribs & chips were cold, the music was so loud it hurt your eardrums & the technocrap they played after the show was another to serve up the ribs again!!!!! Never again
K_somra
Horrible, Horrible. What a waste of money. $204 for for food and soft drinks for 4 people. The food was just aweful and I have never had to literally remove the food from my mouth and throw it away. The meat was over-cooked and looked as if it had been zapped in microwave. People save your money and have a Pizza instead. You will be better off. Never again will I go to this place.
Dora Georgakakis
Never again ... This place resembles a massive school canteen with buffet in middle and rows of people like students at assembly ... Terrible
Sophie646
Overly priced for bad food and bad service. There's other brazilian restaurants that are way better then this one.
Omar
We made a booking to eat at this restaurant and we got there and they were closed for business for the night. We suspect it was because they are not good and so were not very busy on this weeknight and decided to close without informing us of this and hence we went to a Thai restaurant near by which was amazing!!!

Party at Rio's !!. We had a fantastic night - as a big group of 54 I was a bit worried about how the night would go. I shouldn't have worried - the staff there were fantastic - so friendly and helpful. We could not believe the amount of food - everyone was served at the same time and the variety and quantity was great. No one went home hungry, I can tell you. The shows was fun and we danced the night away to the DJ, who knew how to get the place jumping !<br/>Wouldn't hesitate on recommending this place A+++++

Fantastis night out! We had.... Fantastis night out!<br/>We had a great time. My husband and I brought our 2 young boys (aged 3 and 10) and they were laughing and enjoying the entertainment. Food was great and the entertainment was fantastic. Staff were friendly and very attentive. We bought our vouchers from scoopon so it was really good value for money. We will definitely be back. Keep up the good work :)

Interesting Experience. The food was good because for me its the first time I've had the Brazilian food experience and therefore interesting. <br/>The sides were pretty good particularly the pickled chili. The prawns came out a little late and although I did not taste it, the flavoring of the prawns needed adjusting.<br/><br/>Personally I think the garlic sauce needed to be more garlic-kie but it was still good. I thought the meat selection was good what would have been nice was soda drinks to be included in the meal.<br/> <br/>The atmosphere was good but the view wasn't the best as we sat on the edge. What I would suggest is that you create dim lights so we would see what we were eating. One of the other customers on the other table weren't to happy as he had raised his hands a couple of times for service but it took a while for a waiter/tress to take notice.<br/> <br/>Overall an experience I can recommend.

Loved it!. After reading about all the negative reviews this restaurant received in the past, we were a bit worried that it would be disappointing but boy were we wrong! This restaurant was AMAZING! The food started coming as soon as we were seated and it kept coming! There was heaps to choose from and it was all delicious. Service was great & staff were friendly. The show was great and we had a really good time. I would highly recommend this restaurant - great food, great service, great ambience, great value for money.....what else could you ask for?

Bad experience! I reserved .... Bad experience!<br/>I reserved a table for 11 for a Sunday night on the Groupon voucher. The night started out well although the place was quite empty due to being a Sunday. The food was not authentic and very dry, must of been over cooked. The place got busier with another family arrived with up to 20 people with kids running around the place. It wasn't a pleasant dining experience as we couldn't hear ourselves over the kids and loud music they were playing. We ordered second rounds of drinks and the waiter accidentally spilt beers all over my brother. It ruined our whole experience there. Overall, there are better Brazillian BBQ restaurants around that offers authentic food and professional service. Would not recommend this place to anyone.

Terrible.... By far the worst dining experience I have ever experienced... Food service was slow, undercooked meat, small tables, poor waitressing, and most notable; rude manager.<br/>I highly advise, do not come to this place, you will regret it. There are many other better Brazilian restaurants out there, trust me... you're better off buying a $5 Mcdonald's meal then waste $55 of your hard earned money in this place.

One Unforgettable Brazilian Night !. Why travel unecessary distances to have a taste of Brazil when you can have the amazing food, staff and THE AMAZING ENTERTAINMENT right in the heart of PARRAMATTA !!!!<br/>We had an AWESOME NIGHT ! Not only was our group of 25 SATISFIED Beyond our own expectation, the Staff were warm, entertaining and most definately professional.<br/><br/>The food, was AMAZING... Everytime we asked for more, WE GOT MORE! At any extra price? NO WAY! This is the kind of service that unfortunately many of the restaurants in Parramatta lack ! We have recommended this restaurant to our family and friends. <br/><br/>From a management perspective, this is a venue I will be holding one of our many upcoming work functions at. <br/><br/>To the staff at Rio's Brazilian Restaurant, we thank you for all your assistance on the night and for making our Beauty & The Geek Hens Night an Unforgettable one for sure !<br/><br/>Many Thanks,<br/><br/>Danissa Sara Faumui

Fabulous Rio. We had the best time celebrating a friends 21st birthday. The food was so tasty and the meat was so tender. Great service, Good food and great show. I would recommend Rio's for great fun and laughter night........My workmates and I will be holding our Xmas Party at Rio's in December..."watch out Kimmy we'll be back" love Rio's fun fun fun..........

Not worth your bucks!. The only good thing about this restaurant was their customer service other than that this has got to be my worst experience of Brazillian food! The meat were dry and were not marinated well. The meat did not taste fresh at all. HIGHLY UNRECOMMENDED.

Bad dining experience. If you would like to experience a bad dining experience, then this is the place to go to:<br/>- slow service<br/>- the food is not very authentic<br/>- not very generous with their bbq meat<br/>- tacky set up of the dining table <br/>- average ambience
Givemefood
With so many other high quality brazilian BBQ places - why go to this one?. The first half of the meal was great:<br/>- staff were attentive<br/>- side dishes served quickly and frequently<br/>- we had more meat coming to the table than we could handle<br/><br/>Then it all went down hill as the place filled up:<br/><br/>- staff would completely ignore us as they rushed around <br/>- some of the meat was not seasoned well - not even a bit of salt - just plain meat (other brazilain restaurants I have been to give you a unique homemade sauce with each kind of meat - i'm not sure which version is more authentic)<br/>- when we asked for a refill on a side dish they brought the wrong one - we asked for the correct one....but it never came<br/>- there were long periods where there was no food on the table<br/>- the staff then started pushing us to purchase alcohol even though we insisted we did not want any<br/>- it felt at some stage like we were pleading to get different meats served at the table - we kept getting offered dry, horrible chicken sausages and lamb ribs - nothing else!!!<br/>- we were unable to see the carnivale show from where we we seated - but we got the sense that it was a good show from the amount of clapping and cheering we heard<br/>- we were still waiting for more food when a waiter arrived and gave us the bill for the night - we were too disappointed to argue that we were still waiting for more of their sub-standard food. So much for "all you can eat".<br/><br/>We ended the night by going to San Churros accross the road - and had an excellent chocolatey feast!

Great night at Rio's with my family. My family of 4 visited Rio's on Sat night, and we had a great experience!<br/>The food was just amazing - sumptious and plentiful. When we asked if we could have some more of our favourite meat, they promptly brought it out.<br/>And the show was fantastic too.<br/>New management, keep it up !<br/>We'll be back, and have already recommended you to our friends.<br/>Michael

Birthday Bash. I am very happy that I celebrated my birthday at this restaurant. My guests left happy and satisfied; as did i! The food and service was of a very high standard and majority of my requests were met. I will definitely be coming back to eat there again and would not hesitate to recommend this venue for a function!

Friday night. My boyfriend and I attended the resteraunt through a voucher and had an amazing time! <br/>The food was amazing and so good that it was unlimited.<br/>All the staff were really friendly and polite, fantastic service! After we asked if we could have some more of my boyfriend's favourite meat, they brought it back out within 5 minutes.<br/>Overall, an amazing resteraunt.<br/>Can't wait to go back!<br/>Lauren
All Good
All Good. We checked all the previous reviews before booking, all of the reviews were bad, however the deal offered was great and we were aware Rio's was under new management.<br/>All of our group of eight were very impressed by every detail on the night.<br/>Service was excellent, the food was never ending and tasted great and the entertainment was terrific.<br/>We will have no problem returning to Rio's, even without a deal to go, and no problem telling our other friends to go.<br/>Well done Rio's
Nathaniel
We had been here before and had the worst dining experience ever so when I saw it was under new management I had to return to see what has changed. <br/><br/>All that had changed is the decor. Still an horrific dining experience. I wouldn't be surprised if all the positive reviews on this site were written by staff members as there is no way a normal person would of been happy dining here. What's that saying? you can't polish a turd...

Great Night Out. We had a work function at Rio's last night and we had a fantastic time. The Service was excellent - the staff were very attentive - food was delicious and kept coming out to our table - in fact far too much for us to get through !! Now under new management, it is clear the team are trying to be very accommodating and ensure the guests have a great time. Thanks to Rio's for making our night fantastic - I would highly recommend to everyone.

FUN NIGHT, GREAT VALUE!!!. We had a group of 13 of us for my birthday, from the minute we arrived staff were very attentive, food just kept coming so didn't have to ask for more.<br/><br/>Entertainment was included in ticket price and just made it a fun night for everyone, food, dance demo, drag queen then dancing to DJ. Definitely worth a visit. This place has recently come under new management and you can tell they are really trying to make it a success - good work!

Tim's 33rd Surprise Birthday Party - Amazing Night Out!. We had 19 adults and 7 kids including a baby of 5 months old and we all had an awesome time. The kids (and of course the adults) danced all night enjoying the show as well as the DJ. The food was perfect and there was more than enough to feed all of our guests. The staff were very friendly and always checking if we needed anything else throughout the entire night. I highly recommend Rios to everyone. I look forward to going there again and my daughter wishes to go there every weekend to have a dance!

"CARNIVAL" at Rio's. Recently purchased a voucher online to the newly taken over Rio's(excellent value)..congratulations Rio.<br/>We went there on Saturday night 10th June not being a great traveller of the world i wanted to experience Brazil and it's fun vibrancy colour and party spirit.Thank you Rio's for aiming to bring that out in your restaurant.<br/>We were greeted warmly and friendly by a happy staff member and provided an abundance of food. The drag queen kept the audience captivated and entertained she was amazing and brought out the fun i attributed to Brazil.Amazing dancers then followed and again captivated us with their moves...I need to take dance lessons i think....They then incorporated the guests with some dance lessons...hilarious...Then it was music and dancing for everyone...WELL DONE.<br/><br/>Looking forward to going back<br/>Susan

Excellent food, service, and entertainment. We had a team building dinner (13 people) last Friday, all of us were impressed by the quality of food, table services, and the entertainment shows from this restaurant. Plus the reasonable price of the BBQ buffet dinner, we'll certainly be back soon.
