They have the most amazing foods here, the place is full house all the time.
Sadly they have horrible customer service. Cash only.

by far THE best north east chinese food in australia.... nowhere else can even compare, especially for "guobaorou" which is world class here, for a good price and generous serving size.

Best and the most authentic northeastern cuisine in Sydney!!! Love the sweet and sour pork, my boyfriend doesn’t like the service tho, he said the service at the checkout was pretty rude.

Taste is not bad. We two ordered three dishes and finished all of them. Don't expect any service and make a reservation even dining after 8pm...

One of the best northern Chinese cuisine in Sydney!

It’s more like a canteen... the service was..

However, most of the dishes are yummmmmm! What I like the most are pork chop, sweet and sour pork and fried dumplings

The best place to get authentic Chinese food in parramatta. Possibly the only north east Chinese restaurant in Sydney. There's not many. Can highly recommend the stewed pig tails, cold glass noodles with a pork reduction sauce and the special pork and cucumber salad.

Do yourself a favour and eat here. Especially tried the soup or stews to share when the weather is not warm. That region's cuisine is influence by its long harsh winters! The staff have limited English abilities, so don't expect the service to be exceptional, but it adds to the charm!

This place was recommended to me by my dear friend who said “we need to make a reservation”. I was like.. for Chinese in Parramatta? She was right. This place gets packed out!
Famous for their boiled pork (where they hand you gloves to eat the meat with!), at decent prices, I cant recommend this place enough.
So try their homemade dumplings and noodle dishes. ✌@foodiesguidetosydney

The boiled pork bones you eat with a glove are just delicious, and so moorish. A perfect sharing dish. The handmade noodles full of saucy flavour. The potato salad is a little oily though. Its on the edge of the CBD but worth a visit - take some friends and get a few dishes to share.

Came here accompanied by friends from Northern China who have frequently dined here. Our confidence level is high. When we arrived, there was no greeting. Asked the waiter for table of 5. He looked around and went straight into the kitchen. There was a couple sitting in table for 8 and there was another table of 8 marked as reserved. To cut the story short they gave us the reserved table after making us promise we will leave in one hour. Offer accepted.

We ordered 5 dishes, all above average. The dishes came out quicker than us finishing the food. Very impressed.

In the order of Yumminess.
1. Deep fried crispy pork sweet and sour.
Unlike the Vietnamese or other Chinese pork chop, this one is devine. The crunchiness of the pork mixed with the medium level sweet and sour sauce garnished with sliced carrot and veggies. This dish came out fourth but was the first one we finished.
2. Braised sirloin with chili sauce in hot pot
The meet is tender, the tangy spicy hot chili soup is not for everyone but definitely get my vote. The bok choy and rice cake makes it really really special.
3. Glass noodle & shredded pork with sauce.
Don't be fooled by simple look, the glass noodle and the sauce are amazingly tasty. IMHO this is the holy grail of simple Chinese dish. I can't wait to try making this at home. The dish is garnished with sliced cucumber and the shredded pork which are just okay. Maybe we are all awed by the simple but tasty glass noodle and the sauce.
4. Boiled pork with Bone.,
We were given a glove so that our hands are not dirty. The dish is nice but not much meat. I saw some customer ordered two of this dish. This represent how popular this dish is. When they finish their meal the remaining bones look like a miniature of dinosaur's bone in the museum scattered all over the plate.
5.Deep fried eggplant and potato and capsicum
The title describes it all. Simple but elegantly cooked. This is the first dish but we finish this last.

Would highly recommend this restaurant but a word of caution don't come here during peak hour or you will be disappointed. It would have scored higher if not because of the off-putting services.

This has to be my favourite restaurant in Sydney and as I write this, I crave it again and will probably eat there tomorrow.
This is real Chinese food and you will find the restaurant predominantly filled with Chinese people, which is always a good sign.
Ever meal has to start with the boiled pork bones. You get a glove to eat it! A glove!
Another favourite dish are the fried hand made noodles. I prefer to have them with beef, but you can choose any meat. I have friend fried noodles around Sydney and none come close.
For the lovers of spicy food, toothpick lamb is your pick. I can usually only have 5-6 pieces before the burn gets too much, but I am weak.
The thing with this place is the food comes sporadically, so you gotta eat quickly to keep up. The meals are made to be shared, so don't expect everything to come at once so you can all eat your separate dishes together.
Make sure you book in advance as this place is chockerblock full even on a Monday.
Could not recommend more highly!!

I really enjoyed dinner there last night. The menu is big so plenty of choices to choose from - and this place is filled with Parramatta Locals. Go early because its filled to the brim by 6.30pm. Parking is quite easy on the street. The Atmosphere is hectic but typical of a popular busy chinese restaurant. If your looking for engaged customer service then this is not the place for you - your coming here for food alone. I highly recommend the dumplings and the handmade noodles.

This place gets pretty busy early until the the time they close! Dins with some foodie friends, we got a handmade noodle stir fry dish with beef, the seafood pancake, Glass noodles with shredded pork, pork dumplings pan fried and the deep fried Prawn & Pork with sauce!

All pretty good dishes, loved the dumplings and the noodles. Staff are limited so you will need to flag them down as can be expected at this busy place.

Reasonably priced too!

3.5 out of 5. Dinning environment was a chaos but the food was quite alright! Too many people wait in the queue and I somehow couldn't be bothered to come if there is a queue again the next time I visit here ..

you can get a good meal there. The stir fries are solid and some of the Szechuan dishes like tofu with century egg are quite nice

Dumplings were amazing, service was not- almost funny really. Will go back for more dumpling! The eggplant with capsicum and carrot was tasty but very oily. Went late Friday night and only waited 5 mins for a table. It was packed too!

Love love love this place. Food is fantastic. Service is terrible, but I find this adds to the charm and the staff are lovely, just busy. Get there early on a weekend or be prepared to wait in line. Food is cheap. Love the deep fried eggplant and the dumplings are fantastic- especially with the hot sauce.

Hand-made noodles, great price, be prepared for the wait. I am usually not a fan of Chinese food but this one deserves a review because it is simply fantastic food. Not your typical westernised chinese menu, this restaurant offers hand-made noodles, we had the beef stir-fried and the pork and seafood dumplings and they were both amazing. We also tried toothpick lamb and it is great but be ready to cry because there is a LOT of chili into that dish. If you like very spicy, this is the kind of dish you will find very tasty and you'll want to come back for more. Finally we also had lamb with shallots and fried rice. Everything was really good and the prices are more than decent. The portions are generous (16 dumplings, for example) and the prices usually between $10-$15 per dish which we thought was really reasonable for the quality and quantity.

The only down side to this place is that because everything seems to be made fresh, you have to expect some wait. Our order was for take-out and we waited about 45 mins before it was ready. The place was packed, but we saw people inside that arrived after us being served before we got our order. We just assumed this happened because multi-course meals can be spread out throughout a period of time where a take-out order has to be ready all at once. This is the only reason why I am not giving this restaurant 5 stars. We will definetely go back but maybe we will try to plan ahead next time and possibly order over the phone (if that's possible??). A last downside is that they only accept cash. No eftpos or credit card. To be fair, there is a Commonwealth Bank accross the street from them.

Feel sorry for the staff who work there on a busy day! Food is tasty and the dish potions are generous. The price is reasonable. We were placed into a small table and people were queing for takeaways next to us which is unpleasant. And the layout and choice of the tables and chairs are bad for an already small restaurant.

This is North East China food. We had steamed pork and pickle dumpling and slow cooked pork and beans stew. Delicious food, decent amount and good value. Will definitely come again.

Authentic family owned northern Chinese restaurant. Dishes are tasty and prices are reasonable. I always enjoy the fried potato and eggplant dish. One of our favourites. Like all authentic Chinese restaurant, it is a bit cramped, service is average and cleanliness is questionable. However, it adds to the familiar Chinese charm of the place and shouldn't bother you if you want the original Chinese experience.
