George Jones Eatery is just what this end of town needs! I've been here plenty of times as one of my regular faves. The food is always spot on, perfectly cooked and presented and of course tasty AF. The staff are always super friendly and on point even when they are flat out. Good on ya George Jones crew!
I have been going here almost everyday for 2+ years and the food and coffee have always been great. The staff are absolutely awesome!! New owner is awesome as well!
I have now been here 3 times and have loved it each time. It gets a bit loud but you just deal with it. I LOVE the Buttermilk Hot Cakes. The scrambled eggs are so delicious and creamy! Went today for a celebratory breakfast and can still taste the raspberry/rhubarb... yummy!
I've been 4 times in the past month, which is a statement in itself, and every time has been fantastic. Shame to read some bad reviews because I think this place is the best in the area by far. Sticky Thai pork is the best! In fact, everything I've ordered is amazing. Also, as I have a baby - really grateful to see the change table in the bathrooms! Further, the staff do a really great job and that should be noted. Great to see a higher end breakfast place finally make it to the area. Was tired of constantly heading to brunswick or crossing town to get the same quality. Cheers!
I bought a takeaway coffee today and it made my day! One of the best coffees I’ve ever tasted (I’m a fussy with coffee)

Sun 26th 1:00pm. Appalling behavior from a group of 6 guys sitting in the next booth, loud, swearing and disrupting co patrons, putting there feet on the table and seats, a complaint was made and manager requested, nothing was done and they continued the behavior . Food was excellent as was service.
Reviewing after my 5th visit.
Food has been perfect and consistent each time. No long wait, great staff and consistently good food. Keep it up.
Highly recommend. Great venue, food and staff. Do yourself a favour.
Staff are so helpful and caring food is amazing , great atmosphere and the design of the cafe everyone has space to eat in comfort.
Caught up with a friend for coffee before ISO and i really enjoyed the coffee. Lovely decor inside and the cafe is spacious
They do have quite a good variety on the menu, will need to be back to try their food
We have had breakfast and lunch here many times since moving to the area and the food is AMAZING! I have tried nearly everything and it’s always delicious and fresh!
They have recently opened for dinner Wednesday-Sunday which is so fantastic as there are not a lot of great eatery’s nearby open for dinner.
We’ve been twice for dinner and thoroughly enjoyed everything we have tried on the menu so far!
Love this place :)
My favourite cafe in Melbourne. The food is so good, and the people are even more amazing. I visit, quite literally, every day. Cold drip on point!
Thank you so much @georgejoneseatery For recognising my page as one of Melbourne's leading food bloggers! My experience was most enjoyable here & I would highly recommend it to anyone!
I decided to order the;
🍄🍳Mushroom Frittata w. Wild Mushroom + Thyme Frittata + Whipped Feta + Pine Nuts & Breakfast Radish
The highlight of this dish was the beautifully creamy whipped feta! It brought all the beautiful elements together!
I loved the crunch from the fried mushrooms which was a great centrepiece for the dish! Really enjoyable & I polished it off with ease. A great light & airy space with a casual & relaxed vibe making my experience here most enjoyable!
🍴You can't go wrong with the basics! Crispy Fried Bacon w. Runny poached eggs = the perfect winter warmer & that #yolkporn though 😍😍👌🏼🍳👏🏼 ||
@georgejoneseatery .
So yummy & delicious, definitely hit the spot!
Great brunch place. Came here on an early Saturday morning and was seated quickly. Food was served with good portions.
Food: 4/5
Service: 3/5
Ambiance: 3.5/5
Would I recommend George Jones Eatery? Yes, highly recommended!
Would I be back yo George Jones Eatery? Absolutely. Loved the food!
George Jones is exactly what the area needed. If you have lived in the nearby suburb of Fawkner which I have. You know the choices of a good brekky or brunch is limited. It’s a great little cafe and the food is pretty good
Excellent place for breakfast and lunch. Eggs are always perfect. Coffee is always perfect. staff are always friendly and smiling. food comes out very quick. Please bring back the congee! Screw Flanders
My sister and I come here quite often for brunch and it’s always packed and buzzing with patrons. This place does a great soy chai latte and pancakes! I always forget to take a picture of their food as it’s gone so quickly!! 😂
What a suprise fab cafe in the burbs. With ample parking and a large spacious area we were seated in the booth seats.
We ordered the Pork and papaya salad...that meal was giant sized, in future will order this to share. We also had the falafel salad which was nice and refreshing too.
However, staff were a little inattentive as we had to chase them up for additional drink orders and to clear out table. Top marks for the ice coffee and lattes too though.
Amazing coffee, the staff are courteous, attentive and genuinely look like they want to be there. I’ve basically tried everything on their menu and nothing disappoints. Burgers are a highlight. Highly recommended!
Place was buzzing for Saturday brunch. Been here a few times and it’s still a solid option. This time I went for avo and eggs on toast which was unadventurous of me but hit the spot. Mum had he chicken congee which she reported tasted great. Decent variety on the menu and the ambience is great.
Great place to hang out with friends and family .Nice atmosphere, clean and foods is delicious. Booking on sunday is a recommended cuz they are very busy on the weekend. Easy parking and plenty of tables outside if u love to enjoy the sunshine.
Great attentive without intrusive service. Nice coffees and decent sized portions of food. Very tasty and despite spending a few hours chatting with friends, we weren’t hurried along.

This cafe was so busy, staff were so welcoming & the food was so deliciously nutritious!! Haven't had granola like that ever! I'd definitely be back - the photos say it all.
Came here for lunch on a very warm day. Plenty of seating still available which I think is always a bonus with eating in the burbs.
The Thai sticky pork & papaya salad was delicious. Full of savoury and sweet/sour taste and the pork was just divine.
Really nice place for brunch. Food was really good and great variety. Will definitely be coming back here. Loved the atmosphere and staff were lovely .......
Nice place and menu. Coffee is good and easy access to parking also.
I do feel like the staff could be a little more welcoming though but that would be my only negative.
Love the food and coffee here! I regularly go here to work on my laptop during the week (yay for free wifi!) and the coffee is consistently great. Also love the hotcakes and the bacon benedict. The staff are at times a bit inattentive (mainly the juniors) and it gets busy and noisy on weekends but overall this is one of my faves in the area.
On a sunny Sunday afternoon we have passed a nice looking cafe on Pascoe Street which was very inviting and the interior also looked very modern as well.
Staff was very accommodating and the cafe is suitable for families and bigger groups for a nice brekky or lunch.
I have ordered firstly a smoothie which contained many green ingredients which included green grapes, kale, kiwi and coconut water (the ingredients I actualy first tasted when I drank it) and pretty sure there are more. The mixture was good except the the coconut water threw me off when I experienced the after taste, I would prefer another yoghurt or soy milk as an alternative.
The coffee was nicely done, I do recommend having coffees from here as the beans they roast are decent.
The cheeseburger I had was fantastic and enjoyed the "George Jones Sauce" which brought the burger together. Loved every bite and the burger was never removed from the menu every time the menu does change every now and then. I do recommend asking for a proper knife to cut it in half though.
My partner's mum had the chicken with lentil salad which was very interesting and new. The lentil salad had a mixture of beans, nuts, black rice and quinoa with relish on the side and worked really well with the lightly cooked chicken breast. Though I do recommend cutting the mint leaves instead of have whole leaves underneath as the herbs can be overwhelming for the salad. Very well done with the chicken as it wasn't dry and still tender.
Would recommend to eat here every now and then as beware that most of the dishes do change to make things interesting for the locals. Analisa Capretta
I had lunch and breakfast many times. I even did my exam markings in the restaurant but did not get the chance to take a good photo.
I just love the place. The staff is great. Always smiling and helpful when you need assistance.
I would recommend it to everyone.
Edit: Today we visited the place for late lunch. Just perfect and juicy!
Excellent staff working here, and the eggs and bacon Benedict was great. Really enjoyed the relaxed environment and was surprised at the quality of fresh food and beverages. Would definitely come again.
Fantastic to have a decent brunch cafe in the area - really nice atmosphere, staff are friendly & service is great! Home made has browns are delicious - will definitely come back to slowly go through the menu
By far the best food in the area, both the breakfast and lunch menus are delicious love the pork salad, only negative is service can be a touch slow
The Miso Glazed Tofu is my personal fav on the menu!
I have been coming to George Jones on a regular basis since their opening and coffee, food and service is consistently good.
We definitely need more of this in the area however It would also be good to see a change up of the breakfast menu, abit boring for my likings.
Another place I Hadn’t heard of before going, but wish I had! The venue is really welcoming and the staff are too! I had he beetroot and avo smash, and it was delish! Pretty sure I licked my plate, look forward to going back to try the hot cakes :)
This is a nice place to come for brunch, has a good vibe, decent coffee, nice staff and what you'd expect in terms of standard brunch fare. My only niggle is they don't do specials, so if you do visit often, the menu can be a bit repetitive. Other than that, definitely worth a try.

A trendy hip breakfast / brunch venue in Pascoe vale !! Been a long time coming, as this area is underrated, these guys make a great coffee and the sweets are divine, will be back here for breakfast soon
Nothing bad to say about this restaurant. Customer service was great, friendly and prompt food order. The vegan option was nothing spectacular but it was great to have an option.
This place is epic. Great food, healthy and super speedy service. Ive been 3 times and the waiter knew us from the previous visit. Good strong coffee and reasonable priced..a true hidden gem in the Northern suburbs.
Very nice venue, clean, good location and prompt staff. Plenty of parking in and around the nearby streets. Had the bacon benefict for breakfast which was ok but the hollandaise sauce lacked that bite you expect. Coffee was nice and freshly squeezed orange juice lovely. Would go there again & try something different.
This is our local.
My husband and I usually have a burger each (cheeseburger or fried chicken). The chicken burger has a jalapeño, spicy kick, which I like!
The decor is very trendy and on point.
The coffee & chai do not disappoint.
Will keep going back.
Excellent place for breakfast in Pascoe Vale. Great coffee and the 'green eggs and ham' dish was delicious. Will be back to try more of the menu. It was surprisingly busy for such a large venue so expect a small wait if you're in a group. I was on my own so got a seat straight away.
Good food, fantastic coffee and comfortable positive atmosphere for friends, dates and families too.
Really good breakfast - try the green eggs and ham or the benedict.
Lots of outdoor space too.
Tasty food& great coffee! My favourite daily go to place. They cater for vegan food so well. Great Manager & friendly, attentive staff. Highly recommend.
They make really good coffees and milkshakes only they forgot my vanilla shot, but nevertheless it was still good. Staff is pretty nice ! Would definitely return!
George Jones Eatery is a large modernistic cafe/restaurant situated in Pasco Vale. Its iconic name originates from George Jones being the first know shopkeeper in Pasco Vale giving the cafe the humble exclusive status. The broad interior has more than ample seating inside with large share tables also available out the front on the footpath. The vicinity can be very noisy as it seems to be that most occupants are large families with small children as the environment is very kid friendly.
On a lazy sunny Sunday afternoon we ventured off to George Jones and on arrival the place was buzzing with people brunching and lunching. We where greeted by a waitress who cleared a table for two in the corner right next to the window. We where presented with menus and where left to explore the large mouthwatering menu that certainly offers something for all ages, tastes and dietary requirements. When asked what beverages of choice we where seeking we ordered a chai latte along with the standard long black. Our drinks arrived promptly which was impressive due to how busy the atmosphere was. The chia latte was slightly on the watery side with a lack of a frothy top and pungency of aromatics. The long black likewise was watery, flushing away the bitterness and acidic tasting notes of the very average brew. After much analyses of the very hard to ordered from menu we opted for the toasted almond honey granola along with beetroot and feta smash.
The meals arrive in a timely fashion looking magnificent, plated with care and elegance respecting each ingredients contribution to the dish. The Beetroot & feta smash with polenta bites, hollandaise, poached eggs, zucchini, silverbeet & witlof leaves was presented as a masterpiece. The eggs oozed there yolk and the creamy beetroot feta smash was lovely and sweet. The thick hollandaise paired well with the crispy polenta bites that where fluffy on the inside. Only flaw in the dish would be that it lacked a textual component to help soak up the egg yolks, hollandaise and beetroot and feta smash as a small slice of crusty sourdough would have benefited and lifted the dish entirely. The toasted almond and honey granola with golden pears, strawberries, vanilla labne, oats, cinnamon, chia, sunflower and pumpkin seeds with the preference of almond milk was an absolute flavour assault on the taste buds. The dish was presented as beautiful as a garden bed showcasing the bright golden pears that where packed with flavour and perfectly poached remaining there form and not turning into a soggy mess. The vanilla labne was pungent with visible specs of fresh vanilla bean folded through the tart creamy labne. The fresh strawberries added sweetness and a refreshing aspect to the dish. The crunchy granola littered with sticky clusters of almonds, oats and seeds absorbed the almond milk well turning the flavour of the milk into a reminiscent chia latte due to the huge amount of palatable spices bathed in the granola. The awakening chew of dried fruits also present kept the dish exciting yet did not taking away the true standout of the perfect filling dish being those amazing golden pears.
George Jones Eatery is a very family friendly cafe that has more of a restaurant feel to it and is probably best suited for lunch rather than breakfast. The extensive menu showcases exceptional food at an appealing price delivering great service bound to leave customers happy and well attended to. George Jones seems to do well, although they the vicinity could certainly benefit from improving the taste of their coffee, but don’t let this deter you from entering this fine establishment.
try the Toasted Almond and Honey Granola for $11, very nice cheap and quick breakfast. Maybe more milk would be better. Nice and clean restaurant with relaxed staff!
I'd heard both good and bad things about this place and was keen to give it a go anyway. We went back on Australia Day and I have to say the service was pretty good. The menu selection isn't that crash hot, nothing really stands out as a must have however the food they do serve is really nice, both visually and taste... not somewhere I'd rush back to, however wouldn't say no to going back either
Ummm...so...this is what I thought...
Space - Amazing. Open, fresh, clean, bright.
Coffee - Strong and crisp. Delightful!
Food - Taaaaaaasty as. Good food combinations. Good sized meals.
Service - Super friendly and attentive (cute too which always helps! 😉)
george jones is quite the newly opened cafe , big spaces with a lot of seatings inside and outside , gets also really busy especially on weekends , the chefs definitely knows what they’re doing … i have to say that my lunch breaks never tasted better than when i was a barista there 😋
Good coffee and awesome food. Very generous portion sizes. The staff are friendly and accomodating too. What more could you want for brekkie?
My friend had been wanting to come here for ages, so we decided to visit George Jones the other day. I'm glad we did. Lovely atmosphere, decent coffee & terrific food. The cafe is really spacious. They can also accomodate strollers and there are large tables outside too. Even when busy, you still feel like you have ample wiggle room. The only downside is the parking out front being limited to one hour. Which is not enough time if you plan to have a looonnnggg lunch, chat or catch up.
Amazing. My friend and i came to George Jones on a sunday morning, had to wait for a few minutes for a table but it was worth it! The coffee was great, the food was fast & fresh, the staff were so wonderful & although it was so busy, we felt like we were the only ones that were in the place! This is a must-try. Not your average cafe!
Am really surprised this cafe has low rating. I absolutely love it. The coffee is great, the food is really good and the staff are friendly! 3.1? That's not right.
I am rating this place 5 stars because I want this place to stay open. We don't have nearly enough brunch places in this area. George Jones is a great addition to this neighbourhood and the food was pretty nice. Staff friendly and professional. There is really nothing bad to say about it. Please keep delivering your food and service to us citizens of Moreland.

Great food, ambience and service. I tried their bacon benedict and it was such a treat! The eggs are still runny on the inside which is a perfect combination with the caramelised onions and bacon. Sitting on the bottom is the potato hash; crispy on the outside and savoury on the inside. I also had a nibble of the Seared Yellowfin Tuna, one of their lunch menu. The seared tuna was delicious the raw pink centre. Too delicious! Not to forget that tasty vegies; which contains green beans, tomato, kipflers (potato) and finished with romesco salsa.
Great breakfast at George Jones! It was busy but the staff were attentive and friendly, food came out quickly and was delicious. Even picked ourself up some delicious coffee beans for home :)
George Jones, a shop keep, the first of, back in the day in Pascoe Vale in 1841. We hadn't been out for brunch for a while and we're on the look for a new place to check out.
Located off Pascoe Vale Road, George Jones attracts all sorts from near and far as well as young and old. Mostly filled with a younger crowd coupled with a few Gino's and Maria's from the area, the eatery seems to be the place to be seen.
Light floods in from the large bay windows spanning from the top of the roof to the floors and provides a viewing platform from both inside and out. A very spacious floor layout fitted with what felt to like an interior decorator coupled with a graphic designer had dreamed up. Wood, concrete, black, white and small chic shots of vibrant yellow. We like it. The service staff were fantastic and provided a great experience. Attentive and prompt just the way we like it.
So then the food? Well to start, the coffee. A strong latte and cappuccino $4.5 gave us the good morning wake up we needed and set the scene for the food to come. Ordering the crowd favourite of Green eggs and ham (pork belly) $19.9 as well as Sweet Corn and Chive Fritters $16.9. The portion of these meals were quite large and in review of the costs per meal, made sense and definitely supported the saying "you get what you pay for" although we wish the the taste matched. Seasoning. Seasoning. Seasoning. Both meals could have done with a good crack of S&P which would have given it that cherry on top of what was a visual delight of food presentation.
We also tried out the Mango, coconut water and crushed ice smoothie $7.0 which tasted like jack fruit than mango. Either that or the coconut water not playing well with its friends in a jar to which was slightly concerning.
Overall, the experience, food and service was good but nothing to write home about. Not bad George Jones but not great - especially for a place that commands an audience. Till next time, this is Our Foodie Find!
Very nicely designed space for dining. We respectively had soft shell crab burger, cheese burger, and chicken burger. Burgers were reasonable: disappointed by chicken burger, crumbed chicken breast fillets rather than battered deep fried as per St Burgs, Gorilla Grill, etc. Accompanying chips are plentiful. Fried saganaki cheese with figs was very flavoursome. Service was professional.
Been here numerous times for breakfast since our toddler was a baby. Great atmosphere, food, coffee and service. A local gem. my fav is the green peas and ham, breaky roll and corn fritters.
Really great to have this as an option near my new place. They have a good menu that doesn't stick to the same old. Their service is quick and the place has a great atmosphere. The food that we tried wasn't amazing as there was something lacking in the flavour (although not the quality). I'm going to give it another shot and go for something simpler.
Great spot in Pascoe Vale. Very stylish new cafe, leading the trend of great cafes moving to the suburbs.
I tried the Benedict with crispy bacon and potato hash as well as the 'green eggs and ham'. Both were delicious and well worth a try.
If you live in the area you must visit, and its definitely worth the journey if you are travelling from across Melbourne.

I've been here only for coffees and a muffin. Only once have I had to wait a while. Nice clean place with plenty of space. There is outdoor seating with heating which is great for a cold winter day. Staff were efficient and friendly. The coffee is of a very good standard, though perhaps a little pricey. A small latte (really small size) is $3.80. The muffin I got was nice and moist and fairly priced. The only complaint I have is that the only newspaper they have to read is the Herald Scum.
Came here for breakfast at around noon on a Saturday. There was no wait as this place is ver spacious. The fit out is very modern and minimal and has a great ambience.
Coffee was spot on and we ate the green eggs and ham - this was amazing - and the smashed avo - which felt like something was missing - but still nice.
Price was standard. Will definitely return, want to try the dinner menu.
Went here for Breakfast this morning as we have driven past it a lot and have never actually been inside. Walked in and were shown quickly to a table. We ordered our Hot Drinks of Choice and then looked at the menu. Not a wide range but some interesting items to choose from. My Table of 4 ended up ordering the Bacon Benedict, Sweet Corn and Chive Fritters, The Bacon and Egg Roll and Poached Eggs on Toast. The Sweet Corn and Chive Fritters were absolutely Delicious the only issue I had with them was there was too much Smashed Avocado on top of it. It really should have been put on the side. The Bacon Benedict according my companion was very nice. I sampled the Hash Brown and that was yummy. The only issue with the Bacon Benedict was it did not need the Caramelised Onion at all and there was way too much of it. The Bacon and Egg Roll was tasty and so was the Poached Eggs on Toast. I also asked for my Poached Eggs to be cooked Well Done and they definitely were cooked to my liking. Coffees were very nice and also the way we asked them to be made. I also have a very fussy Coffee Dining Companion and she was very happy with her coffee. Plenty of Room at the Tables, also plenty of room between Tables as well for people to walk past or through in between the tables. From the time we ordered to the time we got our food we didn't have to wait long at all. It was not busy but it was consistent there were plenty of other diners as well. Only dislikes about the place are not enough Car Parking even though you have to park on the street its not enough. And also the prices for the area are absolutely appalling. You are not in Toorak. You are in Pascoe Vale. I still enjoyed my meal and so did my other dining companions. Will I be back i don't know unless they change and add things to their menu and also lower there prices not only for Breakfast but also for Dinner. However I return for a Takeaway Coffee if i am in the area passing through.
Named after (or so the story goes) the the first shopkeeper in Coburg, George Jones Eatery has brought a slice of inner city Melbourne to Pascoe Vale. Owner Paul Vernuccio, who also owns Richmond’s Cheeky Monkey, has built a space that caters well to the area’s clientele.
Only been there for brunch & it's a great place added to the northern area. Coffee is good & cannot go wrong with any breakfast dishes. Great serving size. I haven't try dinner there due to its price. But my mates have gone there & they reckon food is amazing & price is just right because of its serving. Try it out. It's worth it.
The soft shell crab burger was good. A little to much Mayo but was yummy anyway. The fries were the sole reason we went there. They are lovely. Nice atmosphere, clean and excellent service.
It's a nice coffee shop big and spacious but the staff have to be constantly called to serve. Food 🍲 was nice and coffee ☕ was also good. Hopefully staff improves before my next visit
George Jones Eatery is a newly opened all-day café and restaurant in Pascoe Vale featuring a very smart and seasonal menu. Only a couple of months old, the eatery has already garnered a loyal band of followers who will wax lyrically about the place and it is easy to understand why.
Open plan with a great vibe. Lots of seating available and they were able to accommodate our group of five.
Once ordering, the food took around 30 minutes to arrive however given the place was packed (at least 40 people) and there only seemed to be two chefs present, it is understandable. Since I was with friends I wasn't too bothered about the wait.
I ordered the Bacon Benedict with a side of mushrooms which was divine. The home made hash browns made the dish. The food was great however only criticism I would have is servings were a little small for the price.
Will definitely be back.
What a great place to break my fasting… portions are so good , I actually ordered extra kids meal as normally same meal in other restaurants will not be filling for an adult. But was so FULL after finishing my plate. Great guys serving at the restaurant too.
Before & after pics can tell !
I have been wanting to come to to this place for years but, i’ve just never been in the area until recently. It’s a great little spot. Food is cooked well and presented nicely. Safe flavours that historically work well together. Coffee isn’t bad, not the best i’ve had though. Staff are friendly and accommodating but, they did forget our coffees and then forgot to give us cuttlery with our meals. They are so busy it’s difficult to get their attention. All in all though, i’d recommend this cafe and i’d definitely pop in again.
This is place is my go to for brunch and coffee. I love the vibe in this cafe, it is buzzing but not overcrowded, (although weekends make sure to book as it does get quite busy). The layout of the cafe is great with a mixture of booths and tables, perfect for groups or for that solo, I need time on my own visit!!! The menu is quite extensive and caters for all palates. Having said this I barely ever make it past the sweet potatoes and quinoa fritters - they are so good!! The plating is beautiful, the ingredients fresh and the taste delicious!! Coffee here is good too. I recently tried one of their combo juices of ginger, apple, celery, orange and lemon - I think I will make this my summer cafe treat.
I have been coming here for years. I live locally. I don't know why there are so many negative comments about wait time and customer service...This place is far from bad I love the food and the coffee and the customer service, so to everyone reading this review I can vouch for this place. 😀
If you're looking for a nice clean welcoming and laid back place this is perfect.
Was told they had a visual menu but wasn't told it's still table service.
Staff were incredibly welcoming and said hello when I walked in, which seems rare these days.
