The meals here have always been lovely and I have been coming here often.
I enjoy the variety of the menu and have tried a lot of the items on the menu.
Everyone who I've recommended Le Jolie to have then gone on to recommend this cafe to others.
Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area. Whether you are after a coffee and crepes or waffles or a savoury option you will not be disappointed.

The best Belgian waffles I have discovered in Melbourne
The pistachio croissant are my regular weekend treat after the
Guy bakes all the pastries
I am also fond of his Croque Monsieur and cheesy egg and bacon on a brioche roll
It's my local
Great coffee and the best waffles I’ve found in Melbourne this far! Thanks guys :)
Cozy, relaxing and quaint cafe. Thanks guys for making us feel like family whenever we are here. Love having dinner on the weekends. Such a romantic setting. Food and coffee is always amazing.
Bastille Day menu was special . Day to day menu always deliciously satisfying. Nicking in for a beautiful croissant is a delight ( if any are left!) and cocktails, of an evening.. Say no more ! mmmmm :)
A fantastically authentic French Cafe with amazing staff and amazing food! Every time we have eaten here the food has been fabulous. Highly recommended!
We loved your wonderful food, atmosphere and kindness. Katherine you looked after us well and compliments to the amazing chefs. Actually, all the staff were wonderful. Looking forward to seeing you again soon
Awesome place, food and coffee is amazing. Definitely worth it. Nice little area out the back as well for a place to relax. Cant wait to go back!
French cafe lattes and crêpes for brunch may be my new most favourite way of celebrating the weekend.
Took our elderly mother for lunch. Staff were very patient and accomodating. Food was amazing and especially the chai tea. Highly recommended
We drove 6 hours to come for the amazing hot chocolates and beautiful food! Defiantly worth every mouthful.
Always excellent food & service at Le Jolie! Especially this morning, when the staff went above & beyond to cater for my pregnancy eating needs! It's that kind of exceptional service that we need more of these days. Thank you.
great service, great food.. :) we love going to this cafe and will be coming back regularly.. :)
Coffee is great, staff are lovely and that plain croissant is divine!

Great good, great service, will definitely be back, a little gem : -)
Loved the food , the garden patio and ambience of Le Jolie...wish I was living in MEL to enjoy it more. :) Guy, Kathleen and team, keep it up!
Best scrambled eggs I have had at a cafe ever, and the waffles with it in the Lumberjack breakfast were awesome. The hot chocolate was also gorgeous, rich and velvety.
Beautiful French comfort cuisine, I can't wait to go back. The croque monsieur is calling me.. <3
We just had our first visit to this delightful Cafe for lunch. Absolutely beautiful food, delightful staff and excellent service. Atmosphere was just devine and we can't wait for our next breakfast or lunch. It will certainly be a regular for us. Congratulations!!
The best coffee I've tasted so far!
Great food that is not too heavy or big This crepe was awsome
My mother and I just went here today and had a blast. Amazing personalised service! The crepes and the made from scratch hot chocolate tastes straight out of Europe
Went first time for brunch what a great little find in Pascoe vale ! Food was superb and the staff so friendly.
What a find Le Jolie is! Had a delightful lunch in the gorgeous cobbled courtyard today. A beautiful tart topped with spinach mushrooms and fetta, followed by warm banana bread drizzled in honey and a creamy dollop.
Friendly service. Staff very pleasant and attentive. European ambience. Felt like I was in a rustic, French village.
C'est magnifique! Will definitely be back.
Amazing brunch, hot chocolate and coffee. The waffle was to die for! Kathleen and Guy as well as the rest of the family are fantastic hosts. Defo recommended.
Yum. The almond, pistachio and berry croissant was the best I have ever had. Delicious food and friendly owners. Merci!
OMG, the best pastries EVER are to be found here! So glad this gorgeous place is in my neighbourhood
My favourite place for lovely food and friendly service. Always enjoy my time here.
Amazing Georgious French cafe. Delicious croissants and coffee!! Gonna take a croissants home
Called in for a beautiful hot chocolate today with Guy and Kathleen and couldn't resist the apple pies. Took two home and followed Guys heating instructions and voila! The most amazing apple pie and custard I have ever tasted. A family hit! Thanks Guy & Kathleen

Some
Of the best eggs I’ve tried hands down. So smooth and creamy I could just eat them all day long. Quirky decor is fine and the coffee is great too
We were a slight bit confused with this French cafe located off Gaffney in Pascoe Vale. Nothing to do with the food as from what we had ordered, it was cooked to perfection and tasted as it should... delicious. We figured you couldn't go wrong with the dish that had the cafe's name in it, Le Homie Bacon & Eggs, so we ordered that along with some sweet goodness; Laura - sweet waffles. Superb! The Le Jolie eggs were the silkiest, smooth and perfectly seasoned served on a brioche that you could've just eaten alone. The waffles were sweet enough for you to say, "that's naughty" but then would make you eat some more until it was all gone. The coffee was spot on despite the owner asking us multiple times what we ordered (just write it down maybe? x3 time a is excessive).
What was confusing was the decor. We would describe it as confused as it felt like a Frenchman decided to open up shop in Melbourne but got caught up in Brunswick and forgot to leave the Balinese decor in Bali and then realised they were french. Just all over the shop but thankfully it didn't distract the menu from being deliciously french. Also...oddly located as it was in the middle of an industrial precinct.
Parking: ample space on either side of the road and that in the side streets.
Staff: very friendly, helpful and warm. We assume that the Asian looking lady is the wife of the French guy who owns the shop.
A really nice cafe and one we would hope to frequent again. Till next time, this is Our Foodie Find!
Service: friendly without being obtrusive
Food: the pistachio and raspberry croissant was wonderful; not overly sweet.
Coffee: good. Had almond and soy milk options.
We last visited 2 years ago and we’re happy we gave this place another shot. The coffee has improved significantly. The menu now also has a few other items that aren’t too butter loaded for the health conscious. The menu focuses on sweet and savoury crepes, waffles, an assortment of croissants and egg dishes. The artwork display is lovely and there’s a courtyard that would suit families.
Update on 10 February 2018: had waffle today, was quite heavy ie not crunchy or fluffy.
Update in April 2018: after queuing st line for croissants on a Saturday, he still wanted the croissant complet here. Whilst the texture wins hands down @ lune, he prefers the fresh fillings and having it toasted!
Delicious food, great atmosphere... I love sitting out in the back courtyard. Coffee is great! There’s nothing I can fault with this place... keep up the great work!
The only disappointment I hold about this place is that I didn't stumble upon it sooner! I think it will be my new favourite local cafe. Sitting out the back in the courtyard felt like I was sitting in my own backyard. You can easily get too comfortable there and forget that you actually need to get up and go home.
My husband and I both took a day off work to get on top of things and decided to treat ourselves to breakfast here. The Veg Croque was the best sandwich I have ever tasted in my life! The crepes were pretty delicious too. The staff are lovely, the music serene, the cafe clean and neat. The decor is gorgeous. We loved our breakfast so much that we came back for lunch! And Guy is running art classes - he paints all those awesome paintings on the walls! 10/10 would recommend to family and friends.
Great service, charming surrounds out the back and food that is just as warm and welcoming as the staff. The truffle scrambled eggs are a must!
Excellent quality food. Best hollandaise I've ever had. Crispy bacon. Perfectly poached eggs. Burger with chips delicious! The floor vibrates slightly and a tiny bit squishy but otherwise lovely decor. Highly recommended
Great service. Great atmosphere. Lovely artwork. Fantastic food. A lovely authentic french accent which is an added bonus. A semi-hidden gem. A definite must try. We will be back!
We had Sunday brunch and loved it crepes awsome sooooo lovely and light Will be back for the waffles for sure Great wait staff too Will be back
Love the crepes! So authentic. And great hospitality. Have never gone wrong with any of the food options. A great find in the north. Will be back for sure
Such a cute little cafe. The staff there are so lovely and friendly. The waffles are too die for, the best I've ever eaten and the crepes and delicious. a must try for everyone
Food: Shakahuka was what I have experienced as other gourmet critics have proclaimed. It was rich, in-depth in flavour and wholesome. It was mildly spiced with cumin, peppers and other secret ingredients that made this a perfect dish for a winter brekkie. The crusty multigrain breads went very well with it.
The pistachio croissant-like desert was the star of the visit. The nuttiness of the pistachio balanced the sweetness. Full of surprises in a seemingly dull looking product. However, I wish I have had the option of warming it up.
Drink: coffee was a letdown and inconsistent. My first coffee was weak and watery. The second was rich with cocoa and a hint of vanilla.
Service: Friendly and welcoming service. The girls were very polite and treated us well.
Price: slightly on the higher end. Topping of avocado was pricey at $4.
What a hidden gem. Great gluten free options and the owner is really nice. Coffee is very hit and miss but when you get a good one it's great. The sweet crepes are delicious. Very slow service no matter what day you go but it's easy to overlook this by just how welcoming they are.
We went for breakfast this morning - most impressed. From Guy being absolutely accommodating of a last minute booking the afternoon before for 9 of us, to leaving with satisfied tastebuds and full bellies, the overall experience was great. Service was on point, pleasant, well paced and not too on your face or rushed considering it was Mothers Day and they would have wanted to turn tables, let alone the fact my two little ones were up and down at times. The food was amazing, truly. We tried about half the menu between us, and will be back to try the other half. The crepes and waffles in all their options were delicious, even the simplicity of a plain home made croissant was sublime. Merci!

Was looking for somewhere to try shakshuka, sadly it wasn't what I had hoped needing more seasoning and more toast to soak up the juices. I would go back to try something different but one more shot is probably all I would give it.
I saw this cafe from while looking for parking and called in looking for somewhere quiet for lunch. I was pleasantly surprised and enjoyed a juicy burgher for my lunch. My companion couldn't finish her gnocchi, which was lucky for me because it was delicious and worth coming back for.
The staff were friendly and relaxed. The coffee was nice and the smell of duck pies fresh out the oven was heavenly. Next time I'll stay longer, lunch in the courtyard and enjoy a glass of wine.
Hidden out in the quiet suburb of Pascoe Vale, lies a genuine taste of French hospitality in what could be ultimately be named “the perfect local”. Think cheesy croque monsieur, decadent truffle scrambled eggs, and genuinely flavourful shakshuka (a secret recipe from part owner and chef, Guy Trinquet) mixed amongst locals within its cosy decor.
They have this ham and cheese toastie topped with more cheese. It is the best thing i have tried! it was amazing, I wasnt sure how it would taste but now i am glad i tried it!
Good restaurant, good staff, good meals. I was with my family, and they enjoyed. We ordered waffle, egg for kids, the one in the photo, it was nice. Should be visited
Great little spot, very friendly staff. Almost wish it was a wine bar I could stop off at in the evenings!
Can always get a table, and the owners love to come and say hello.
Every time we go into this little business the owner always has a quick chat and is open and friendly about his food and place of business. You can tell he is very passionate. We went here for the waffles initially but have kept returning because it's so good. They use good quality food and must put a lot of time and effort into finding it, but are happy to share where to get that chirizo or olive oil from! Make sure it's on your Pascoe Vale hit list!
In an inconspicuous Pascoe Vale street is Le Jolie, a cafe and ‘bakery’ serving French-style breakfast and freshly baked pastries. French cuisine can often be mistakingly associated with fine-dining. Owners and Paris-born Guy Trinquet and Katleen Alexander, hope to bring a touch of Paris to the north, offering French food in a casual setting, lighting up the otherwise drab looking street. Abundant with flakey buttery croissants, homemade waffles and copious amounts of butter – a glimpse of the raspberry and pistachio croissants, enthusiastically jerked us out of our catatonic weekend slumber.
This cafe is beautiful, quaint and homely. Delicious food, genuinely welcoming staff and one of the best hot chocolate recipes I have ever tasted! Food for the soul.
Those in the (waffle) know may have heard of Waffle Jolie, wholesalers of Belgian style waffles that sold out time and time again at Flour Market Fitzroy. Le Jolie is the permanent retail operation for the Waffle Jolie crew. Before you say anything…yes, it’s not spelled the grammatically correct way ‘La Jolie’ but is Le Jolie because it’s an extension of Le (Waffle) Jolie.
Increasingly attractive venue, food appears understated, but is actually very tasty, especially the tarts. Staff are attentive and very polite. The salted caramel tart is to die for, and is not sickly sweet, highly recommended
Love coming here! Always fantastic food, especially the waffles! Very good coffee and the hot chocolate is to die for. The atmosphere is very pleasant and staff are always so friendly
Get your waffle on with Le Jolie, a French cafe hidden in a small shopping strip in Pascoe Vale.

Just got back from travelling Europe and was so excited when I found a cute littlw French cafe near my new place. I ordered the corn and zucchini fritters. It was amazing!
Lovely little local. 300+ reviews and I've noticed a few changes in the 'burbs since I started reviewing, one of which is fantastic little niche cafes opening in the 'burbs. Love it. Welcome, Le Jolie Cafe! I had a lovely savoury tart and coffee. Servings are on the modest side (remember, French women don't get fat) but the prices are low, so if you're really hungry, order two items! The owner came and said hello. Friendly service and lovely authentic French cafe food. Definitely recommended.
Lovely food and relaxing cafe. Sitting in the sunny garden with hanging herbs and flowers on the left and a tranquil fishpond on the right was a lovely way to spend a relaxing Sunday afternoon. I love when places served freshly squeezed juices and Le Jolie did not disappoint; i was a bit boring only ordering a fresh OJ, but my friend ordered watermelon and carrot and said she really liked hers. The food was equally lovely; the avocado tartine was just as refreshing and the caramelised apple waffle parts that i pinched off my friend's plate (the waffles are hand made at the cafe) was very yummy.
What a wonderful experience!. From the opening of the door we were greeted by friendly staff, the owners Guy and Kath are more than willing to talk to you on a human level, so much so that it feels less like lunch or brunch but a whole dining experience! The food is all great, or what I've tried of it (it is continually being updated with more and more delicious foods!!) but favourites have to be either the pistachio croissants or the Jolie Waffle! You won't be disappointed by this good service and delicious food ranging from sweet to savoury and gourmet to home style cuisine! Can't wait to see how it evolves over the coming year and I will definitely be coming back regularly!!
Paris comes to Pascoe Vale. Tucked away in this little shopping strip is a Parisian gem. Beautiful Croque Monsieur made with country style bread & lashings of cheese. Hot chocolate to die for, that's made on the premises. Homemade Belgium Waffles that are perfect on their own or with your favourite topping, the house special is the Le Jolie Waffle! Coffee from a local Melbournian, smooth with a kick, a great way to start the day. Great Service, lovely owners & a wonderful atmosphere just close your eyes & imagine that you are in Paris, not Pascoe Vale!
A little taste of Paris. Good service, lovely court yard and very tasty food. Lumberjack breakfast is so yummy! Very friendly staff. Well done all!
Excellent. Good food, good service, lovely owners (Guy and Kathleen), nice atmosphere - what more could you ask for? I know - tea leaf based Chai latte. It is on offer and I have found none better! Oh, and you must try the superb waffles.
Simply incredible! Drove an hour to get there and was worth it. The coffee was beautiful and found it difficult to pick a favorite between the caramel and chocolate waffle or the Jolie waffle. Hope to get back soon. Thanks guys!
Waffles to die for. Came to Le Jolie Cafe from the recommendation of a friend and absolutely loved it! The salted caramel waffle was amazing, as was the authentic hot chocolate. The eggs were delicious and I will definitely be coming back again, would recommend to all my friends
Thank you, Merci. So lovely to have in Pascoe Vale!, friendly staff, lovely ambience, so good it is open on Saturday nights.
Merci
What a great addition to pascoe vale. The food was delicious and good coffee to top it off. We look forward to returning again and again.
Fussy girl. Well done, Le Jolie! Inviting cafe with friendly owners, really good coffee and a nice menu. Love the home made muesli! Looking forward to trying out your Saturday evening drinks as soon as I can.
First visit on a rainy Melbourne morning & the fire was going! A beautiful warm welcome that pulled us in. Eggs were amazing and filling but we couldn't resist the waffles as well! Coffee was the best I've had in ages. Seriously great food. Would recommend to anyone who enjoys fresh, simple food with a French elegance.
I had the Belgium waffles and they where fantastic.
What a gem, Went for breakf.... What a gem,
Went for breakfast and had a great time. Friendly owners, relaxed atmosphere and great food, do yourself a favour and go
Now we can buy those coveted Sunday market treats nearly every day of the week! Hoorah! Owners Guy and Kathleen were kind enough to invite us down to their new premises this weekend. Located in a small group of shops near Pascoe Vale Station, the café’s French theme extends far beyond just its name and is evident in every aspect of the establishment – from the simple, French provincial-style interior dotted with fresh spring blooms, to Guy’s mesmerising accent, to the charming sunny courtyard lined with flower planter boxes, a gorgeous goldfish pond and creeping grapevines. Inside at Le Jolie Cafe’ The Lumberjack – scrambled eggs on a Belgian waffle with bacon and maple syrup The all-day brunch menu consists of simple, French fare, inspired by fresh and seasonal
