It's almost impossible to find a great
Fish 'n' Chip shop these days that cooks their food to perfection .
Sussex Seafood does just that !!!!!
The last time we went there (( which was yesterday )) we ordered a family pack which consists of 4 Flakes , 4 Seafood Sticks , 4 Dim Sims , 4 Calamari Rings , and all that comes with about $5 worth of Chips which was heaps !!!!!
All that for just $45 , now considering you go to any Fish shop and Flake is around $8 each , I'd say what Sussex Seafood offers is relatively cheap compared to others .
Good quality food and the Flake size is very decent .
Add to that a clean shop and friendly staff and I'd say this is going to be our regular Fish 'n' Chip shop every time we visit my cousin who lives in Pascoe Vale Sth.
By the way , we live in Epping and we have a decent Fish shop at Dalton Village ,
but if we didn't i would gladly travel to Sussex Seafood for a feed with my family every time πππππ
Have ordered here a few times over the last few months. Always hot and tasty. Great potions of tasty chips. Flake is great tasting and not thin. Proper size. Potato cakes are on the money. Plus the food is really not greasy as some joints can be. Service is friendly.
No complaints here, very friendly service and pretty good fish and chips.Β I don't often eat fish and chips but have been coming here when I do.Β A great little local.

The fish and chips at Sussex Seafood remind me of the fish and chips you used to get when you were a kid. Nothing fancy, just good quality fish in a nice crunchy batter. Not oily.. and the chips are good too.

Fish and Chips let downs are very easy to find. This place does much better than most. This is the old-school Greek chipper, menu simple, no frills, fit out is non-existent but clean. What you do get is thick cut chips with a crunch, crispy on the outside fluffy on the inside. Everything I have ordered has been tasty.Β
Most places these days use frozen chips and I'm not 100% certain if they do however I don't mind as it's takeaway. My main priority is the oil, as long as they use good fresh oil to fry them in. It needs to smell fresh and be changed often, you can tell immediately as soon as you walk into a fish and chip shop whether the oil has been there too long. Sussex Seafood does not smell disgusting and the food does not smell of old oil.
It's not a proper chipper without burgers on offer and their burgers do not disappoint. Classic burger toppings that are fresh and generous.Β

I thought I'd already eaten the best burger in Melbourne until I came here. Hands down the best burger with the lot! Every ingredient was the freshest possible and at a Fish n chip shop price, absolutely nothing to complain about. Set in a nice quiet residential street to enjoy too

I have been here afew times with my boyfriend...we pig out every time! The souvlakia are to die for, meat is so tender. Burgers are great too, excellent service.. Always satisfies!

This has to be one of the best in Melb. I've been going here since they were in Sussex st & have put many people onto it. All have had only good things to say except for the wait times.
Great local fish and chips. The stand out in the area. Very generous with their great chips. Can be busy so phone ahead and, like all the others, seems to close early. Which has caught us out on occasion.
This was a wonderful meal, with the salmon so mouth watering. The chips cooked and not at all oily, the garden salad was lovely and fresh. Iβll be back!
