Review Forty Flips - Pascoe Vale

Good coffee, nice treats, and friendly staff. There are lots of small coffee shops around the area and I try to rotate through them to support them all. I'm new to the area so this was my first visit but won't be my last. I really enjoyed my Latte and hedgehog. I've never heard of it or ever ate a "hedgehog" before but I really enjoyed it. I'm accustomed to something called a "Nanaimo Bar" on the west coast in Canada. All I know is that the Hedgehog is superior to a Nanaimo Bar and the Nanaimo is from my home turf. Would recommend to family and friends.

By far my favourite cafe! This small Bizz nails every aspect of what makes a cafe enjoyable - from incredible service (they always remember me and my order), to amazing coffee and stunning vegan puddings! Love love love

Without a doubt the best coffee in the area. I have been coming to Sussex Coffee Shop for 3+ years and their consistently perfect. Their beans also work really well with home coffee machines. Friendly & humble service as well. Wish they still had a dine in option because their food was also exceptional prior to the pandemic.

Friendly service and delicious breakfast choices means I hope to return very soon! I enjoyed the Bircher muesli and it was wonderful, lots of berries and roasted almonds and the addition of coconut yoghurt was delicious! The ambiance was lovely too, not too noisy and plenty of seating. Parking out the front was very convenient. Highly recommended, it's a gem in the Pascoe Vale cafe scene!

Best coffee in the north (st ALI). Love this place for brunch and lunch, delicious constantly changing specials and consistent firm favourites on the menu. Super friendly staff and a clean comfortable setting.

Forty Flips is an outstanding cafe! The coffee is always perfect and The Food is delicious. The menu is absolutely flawless, the personal twists they’ve added to the dishes are fantastic, the subtle fusion of Mediterranean, Australian and home style Turkish food is done perfectly and you can sense the passion and heart that went into creating this Cafe. Forty flips has soul because of that. we will see you again soon.

Great food and relaxed ambience especially in the wonderful courtyard, where you can enjoy a delicious all day breakfast and great St Ali coffee which is sure to please any coffee connoisseur. The vegan/gluten free Cinnamon, Tahini pancakes were the bomb. We will be back!

A beautifully designed and stunningly dressed up café, providing the most amazing vegetarian food I have ever had. Grilled halloumi, zucchini and mushrooms atop of buttery sourdough with perfectly poached eggs and hollandaise?! Couldn't have asked for anything better. Wonderful coffee and tea. Definitely a favourite spot to visit

Consistently very very good. I’ll start by saying the coffee here is sensational. Really significantly better than other places in the general area. Great coffee! <br/><br/>Food. Outstanding. Forty flips does innovative interesting specials that are creative and a fraction experimental without being silly. The food is done with finesse and great attention to detail. Lots of care goes into every plate and even when the place is busy(often) it never feels like the kitchen lets preparation or presentation suffer. The food tastes great and looks amazing also and there Instagram account is a testament to that. So many amazing vegetarian options! I chose the chilli omelette with mushroom ragout and an extra hash brown and every single thing on the plate was delicious. Lovely service and good vibe without being noisy or cramped. Will be back for sure! #vegetarian #veggieoptions

Been here a few times now, can’t fault it. Friendly & prompt service, outdoor seating for our dogs to visit with us. Good selection on the menu, my vegan sister happy with vegan options. Each meal we’ve ordered has been delicious each time. Good coffee too!

Forty flips is just marvelous. The quality products as well as ambiance is there. If you are around north of city, you must have your brunch there. The chef knows how the tastebuds react. Bit of touch of Mediterranean influence in Ozzy style presentation. Well done. St Ali for a coffee blend is extra bonus.

Lovely cafe with great menu, have only been for coffee and slice which was good though pricey for suburbia, found the lady serving not very pleasant

We are so lucky to have this amazing cafe just a few doors down from our home. The food is fresh and every element is made in house which is usually unheard of. The stand out dish is the mushroom ragout, probably the best dish we’ve had this year. If you’re in the area you’d be crazy not to try it out.

Wonderful, friendly atmosphere- a relaxing weekend vibe. Beautiful, attentive staff looking out for your every need. The food is always fresh, delicious and reasonably priced. I've been here many times, busy times and quiet and have always received excellent service with food done to perfection; I really can't understand how anyone can give this cafe a negative review.

Ordered the breakfast burger and chai latte and they were okay. The service is a tad slow, however I ordered a soy mocha and croissant to take away . The chocolate in the mocha was off and the croissant was squeezed almost to death. The wait for these items was a very long time.

A total gem in a very ordinary strip! Great friendly service, kids were very well catered for, and I had an insanely delicious mushroom omelette with truffle and sumac flavours that would hold up anywhere as an outstanding breakfast. Perfect St Ali coffee too. Gold.

I love this cafe. The food is delicious. Menu has all your brunch faves but plenty of options if you’re after something different. Best milkshakes I’ve ever had. Cosy & relaxed atmosphere and the staff are genuine and friendly. So glad this gem has landed in Coburg North.

Ordered a long black and the guy said 5-10 minuet wait, I said ok. 15 minutes later I walked out minus my coffee. A long black is a 30 second job and the wait was unacceptable!!!

My partner and I have just moved into the area, having come from suburbs that have a little more on offer in the way of cafes we were ecstatic to find Forty Flips.<br/>My partner is vegan and I’m not which usually means it’s difficult to find a place catering to us both, however the Vegan Delux always has his tick of approval. For myself, I know I can order anything off the menu and it will come out fresh and delicious.<br/>The only reason this review isn’t 5 Star is because I find when I order a strong soy latte the coffee has usually split/curdled, not a huge deal as it’s still drinkable but just something to be aware of!<br/><br/>Keep up the good work Forty Flips!

Amazing coffee and food, excellent service and beautiful staff! Ordered the two specials- Mushroom Ragout <br/>with polenta bread, beetroot puree and poached eggs & waffles with poached pears and mascarpone to share between two...Works of art that my friend and I needed several moments of silence to truly appreciate, before digging in! And then the taste and texture sensations demanded more silence.... unusual for friends who hadn’t seen each other for months! Get into this little slice of Fitzroy in Pascoe Vale...

Love this beautiful cafe. Had the Vegan Delux breakfast it was absolutely amazing I wanted more!! Can't forget the amazing coffee, it was to perfection, best coffee I've tasted. The staff are very friendly and accommodating to families with children. Very clean, and prices very reasonable. Definitely I'll be back soon.. must try!!
