St Derby is a fantastic cafe. It has such a warm and friendly feel. The staff are so welcoming, the coffee is always spot on and the breakfast menu is delicious.

I ordered from St. Derby recently and what an experience it was! With current restrictions, we ordered over the phone for delivery. My sister and I ordered the same dish, blueberry and ricotta pancakes with iced coffee. The pancakes were incredibly delicious, moist and filling. The coffee was standard but still enjoyable. Will be ordering again!

For brunch I ordered the Hash which meant i got bacon, eggs, hashbrown (insanely yummy!) spinich and holandaise. TICK TICK AND TICK, such a winning combo! And when its served with a smile and chat, just makes putting pants on and leaving the house worth it!!!! If your a local, get down, support your locals. If your not, get in your car and make a trip, i promise you wont be disaapointed!!!
Also want to note the amazing recognition toward our emergency service and essential service workers, where you can prepay a coffee for them. Brilliant initiative!

Such a community focused cafe, the lovely owners know all the regular’s names & even coffee orders off by heart. Not to mention, they raised over $8,000 for the bushfire appeals this month, with the amount continuing to grow! The cafe felt so warm & cosy, a place to go to meet up with friends or just to get out of the house. There is indoor & outdoor seating available.
FOOD & DRINKS
I adored the Roasting Warehouse coffee, the delicious granola & the crispy house hash the most. I’m so glad that was the case because their hash brown is an absolute winner! Super crispy on the outside & full of potato on the inside. It isn’t super oily or anything, making it the perfect accompaniment to any brunch meal! I also loved the toasted muesli, which was topped with a bountiful amount of fresh fruit & was a nice sweet contrast to the hash brown
Service with a smile & a hug if you want it, you will feel right at home at this cafe. Their hospitality is incredible!
Our first time here and we will be returning! Busy little cafe with great service and amazing brunch options. The coffee was excellent also. Highly recommend having a meal here.

St Derby is a recent discovery of mine in Pasco Vale, and I was suitably impressed with the food and service at this cute little cafe. Firstly, you notice the huge mural on the outside wall. Simply stunning! Upon entry, you are welcomed by the generous and friendly staff. I loved that everyone was treated in such a pleasant manner, and it was obvious that a lot of locals come here because there was a lot of friendly banter between staff and customers. After our visit, we were to understand why this is the case. Our coffees and fresh juices arrived promptly, and both were of excellent quality. The coffee was divine, and I loved that it came with a little shortbread cookie. It's little touches like this that make a difference. The juices were full of flavour and icy cold. Just how I like them.
We ordered from the varied menu, and our dishes arrived promptly. Starting with the house speciality, the hand made hash Benny. Wow. This freshly made hash brown was full of grated potato. It's crispy outer edge enclosed a beautifully seasoned, soft centre. The eggs were perfectly poached, with oozy yolks, and the salty bacon, sauteed spinach and creamy sauce all worked well together.
I was in heaven when I saw that there were two styles of pancakes on the menu. I went with the blueberry and ricotta version, and I was suitably impressed. These huge fluffy pancakes were studded generously with berries and ricotta, and there was plenty more of both on the plate. Topped with a generous scoop of ice cream and maple syrup, and the cutest pipette of coulis; this dish looked as good as it tasted.
The friendly and hospitable staff at St Derby are second to none. They really are so lovely and it's clear why this place was packed full of regulars. Stopping by this beautiful cafe is like visiting family, albeit a family that cooks amazing food and coffee. Such a positive experience really does have you leaving wanting to return for more, and I know we will be back again soon.
We enjoyed our visit to St.Derby. It was very busy when we arrived at 11:30am on Saturday Morning and was told our food would take 30 minutes. The Avo was generously portioned with plenty of avo. The corn fritters were lovely but a little soggy. We'll be back :)
We were brought here thanks to zomato gold. This place is a nice little corner café, with friendly staffs and delicious meals. The hash was scrumptious, went well with the homemade hollandaise sauce. As seen on some other reviews, I agree that their poached eggs were overcooked, but the meal flavour was still nice. Service size was perfect, happy to see that they actually put half of the avocado on the plate. All staffs were friendly and attentive, which gave us a very good impression. Will definitely revisit some time.
I love their crazy platter for 2 at St Derby!!!! Service was so homely and the food was yumgasmic! The staff treat you like family here.
Also amazing we’re their hash brown... we ordered one to share between three, I gobbled mine up and I was eyeing on my dining companion’s hash brown longingly!
After having the savory we also had a blueberry ricotta pancake to share. I don’t know how people can eat the whole thing by themselves! It was lovely but the portion was just so big and filling.
I was also eyeing on some burgers that the next table was having as it looks so delish. Next time!

We had the blueberry ricotta pancakes and the corn fritters which were both absolutely delicious and generous serves. St derby is a cafe sitting on the corner of a main road with plenty of street parking. We walked in and it was hustling and bustling with people coming and going to eat in or get their take away coffees.
We were greeted, sat and had our drinks order taken. My Mug sized Latte was delicious. It had that yummy bean aroma and was a good balance between the coffee, milk and warmth.
My partner loved the Iced Chocolate, came in a glass with milk, ice cream, ice and malt. Sprinkled with cocoa sugar. One of the best Iced Chocolates she’s had in a long while.
I ordered the Chorizo Me. The dish was generous with avocado however, for a Chorizo dish, I expected a whole sausage but received only about 7 thinly sliced pieces. That aside, I did enjoy the meal as the eggs were cooked perfectly, the toast was crunchy and buttered nicely, and the avocado was plenty.
My partner ordered The Hash. The dish came with bacon, spinach, poached eggs, hollandaise sauce and their signature beautiful hash brown patty. The eggs came out steaming and had that delicious yolk ooze. All the flavours worked well together which made it a yummy yummy meal.
The thing about St Derby that really got my attention was the lady behind the counter greeting everyone.
She made everyone feel welcomed and knew her regulars on first name basis. This, for me, boosted up the friendly atmosphere and made my brunch that much more enjoyable.
Even though we live around this side of town we hardly check out the local cafes. Thanks to Zomato Gold we landed on his gem.
The cafe was busy on a windy and dull Sunday afternoon. So only 1 couple brave the weather to sit outside. Upon taking our seat inside by the friendly staff I was please to see that they had books and colouring pencils to occupy our little ones. It’s little touch like these which allows us to eat in peace whilst the kids are occupied so we really appreciate it!
I ordered the potato hash and was not disappointed. The portion was good, the hash was crunchy and the toppings delicious. My only comment would be for the cooks to use less salt.
We also had the salmon poke and kids pancake which was delicious.
Finally the coffee was decent so we will be back!

We found a wonderful cafe in Pasco Vale.yaaay to this 😍😍 the staffs are friendly , the portion of the food is very generous , the price is reasonable , and they are actually very good menu. It’s kids friendly , they have colouring pencils and book , and they have lots of kids books. Def no need to bring your own toys to entertain your kids if you decided to come here. The baked salmon is delicious

I loved that so many of the items on the menu could be made vegan! I got to try the HASH, along with the FALAFEL SALAD and FNG bar (fig n grain hehe). All of the dishes were so fresh and delicious! It was the perfect Sunday morning brunch.

Best cafe in Pascoe vale & Coburg by far. We had their famous homemade hash browns, wow delicious! The coffee is definitely one of the best too. i ordered “the hash” wow and the star of that dish was the homemade hash brown! so crunchy and perfect size! if you visit St Derby make sure to order the hash brown on the side if you don’t order “the hash” my 2 friends from Brisbane were so impressed with this cafe as well, both loved their dishes and both added the hash brown!

St Derby is a great little cafe in Pascoe Vale with delicious food and friendly staff! As a vegetarian it is refreshing to dine at a cafe that offers customers the choice to replace meat items in a meal with other sides at no extra cost. Will see you guys again soon!
Recently found this cafe and was so impressed that I've been back several times with family and friends. Best cafe in Pascoe Vale and Coburg areas. The food is quality and the service is top notch. Love the omelette and the various combinations and always have a side of their famous hash. The coffee is a must try, smooth! 7 stars hands down.

The wrap was fresh and toasted to perfection . The orange juice was very refreshing too. The brownie was rich , gooey and the taste was just perfect as it was not too sweet . The best part was that the chicken was halal and I enjoyed the free WiFi also . My only regret is not trying this place earlier as I have been living in Pascoe Vale for 6 months now.
Best cafe in Pascoe Vale! The food is always fresh and delicious and there is a wide selection of sweet and savoury items on the menu. Coffee is consistently excellent no matter who makes it. Paula and Danny are wonderful hosts and always welcome us with a smile and a chat. The rest of the staff are great too and remember our regular coffee and food orders. I moved out of Pascoe Vale earlier this year but this is still my regular cafe even though there are places closer to me. I have brought many friends and family members to St Derby and they have all agreed it’s fantastic.

I was invited to St. Derby by one of the owners to try the food out. I had a warm welcoming as soon as I walked in, the owners are so friendly. I love what the new owners have done with the place the refurb looks so modern. I had the opportunity to see the place before the new owners came in and the place was definitely run down. My hubby had their burger and I had the Smashed Avo which I LOVED! I love how they added pesto to it, it gave the meal a beautiful flavour. Will definitely be back.
Great little cafe, warm and friendly place! Haven’t eaten here yet but the coffee is awesome! And i love the little complimentary shortbread biscuit they give with the coffee! Hopefully will be back for a feed.
Ordered a soy hot and I mean HOT chocolate...it was hot, chocolaty,not sweet and probably one of the best I’ve had. Then I ordered the Hash breakie, it was beautiful. The atmosphere is warm, friendly and everyone who walks in is greeted with a smile and a ‘how are you’ attitude. Even though I traveled across the city, it was well worth it.
Great coffee, food and service hence why we keep going back. It’s hard to find a cafe that ticks all of the above. Keep up the good work guys

So I quietly slipped in this morning after the new owners commented on Zomato about my review. Boy did I notice a change. They were very busy when we arrived yet we still had a clean table and quick service. The service was exceptional. The server was friendly, bubbly, loud and attentive. She was quite fun in fact. 5 stars for sure. The food has improved reasonably as well. We had the bacon and egg roll special, eggs benny, as well a treat from the counter. They were all excellent. The chef was really on the ball today. I’d say the food was 4.5/5. He was also sure to see that there were no issues with our order as we left, and genuinely seemed to care about our opinion. The coffee has improved as well. It’s still by no means the best in the area but it’s vastly better than before and nice in its own right. The menu is small but so is the kitchen. Other than that I was truly impressed by the marked improvement. Definitely a boon for the area and a great weekend breakky spot.
I have been here a few times, the first few times it was really good. I brought my family here a couple of times I liked it that much but it started to go downhill. The coffee got kind of bad, in the beginning I'm pretty sure it was made by the owner but it wasn't the last few times I went and it wasn't very good. The food is hit and miss, sometimes it was awesome other times not. Their original potato hash was awesome but they changed it and it's not as good. It's not a bad place but it's not an awesome place either.
Coffee is great here. I love that they don't charge for soy and at least $1 cheaper then most other places in the area. Its always smooth and hot. The staff is friendly. The decor could use an update. Great local cafe.

St. Derby's cover was fantastic, but the pages on which this book is written made me question if it could compete with the best.
Boy was I glad I didn't judge the book by the pages it was written, because this place has fantastic food! Don't get me wrong, the inside looks nice, friendly and clean, but looked stuck in 2010.
I personally had the omelette, fully customisable with your choice of 3 toppings. Couldn't have asked for a better omelette, and the service was fantastic from the moment I stepped in the door.
Highly recommend, would come back in a heart beat!

The Coffee was excellent, and the food very good. Corn fritters, with bacon and brocollini & eggs Benedict were both presented well, tasted wonderful and fresh, and were nice generous serves.
The only thing that could improve would be the service, with it seeming that there was a bit of inexperience or indifference?
I'll gladly eat there again, but maybe lower my expectations, and allow extra time ?
Great and cheap coffee going around. Food is really nice too. My local favourite cafe. Outside signage can be improved as well as fixing the door as it doesn't close.

Great Local cafe!. My husband and I visited St. Derby on Saturday morning and were pleasantly surprised with a wonderful breakfast and beautiful coffee. Our meals (Eggs and Chorizo as well as the Rosti) were beautifully prepared on the spot and tasted great.
We also stopped past this morning before work for a couple of takeaway coffees, and once again did not disappoint. I am so happy to have found a great local place that I am sure we will continue to often visit!
