Review Old Faithful Cafe - Pascoe Vale

I enjoyed my eggs Benedict. My daughter didn't like the American sauce on the chicken burger. There is a nice quiet patio area out back (shown in my photos). Service was prompt & good.

Stopped in on our way north with a party of 4. Meals came out quickly despite ordering a variety of meals. I ordered the breakfast burger which was very messed just the way a good breakfast burger should be! Only downside is that it was meant to be with sweet potato fries but there were normal fries instead. We also got the waffles which were quite good and the Eastern Sunrise which was not value for money at $17 and tiny portion. This was the only downside to the meal. All in all quite yummy

This was one of the best brunches I've had in a long while. I ordered the smoked salmon and eggs brunch which was pair so well with sweet potato roesti and a zingy celeriac remoulade. There were such great options menu I wanted to order 4-5 different dishes. Coffee was nice and strong and servings we're generous for the price. Very friendly service too. I'll definitely be back!

Great coffee friendly staff, their waffles are amazing. Great French toast. Worth a visit 😀

Very good coffee, loved the food and overall experience here was great. Staff were friendly. Coffee selection was impressive. Loved the interior inside the cafe. If walking by, I would suggest to pop in.

Just discovered the little cafe and love it! Beautiful cafe with great coffee and food. I had a breaky bun and loved it! The chips are soooo good! Maybe my favourite so far!

The place itself is cool and trendy with a cozy backyard open area. However the food wasn’t anything impressive and some items quite overpriced ($4 for ONE mushroom? Way too much). The staff is friendly and attentive but the service was way too slow today: over 45 mins to serve our brunch. If you live in the neighbourhood maybe a place to try — with enough time and be selective on the items in the menu. Up: Tim tam shake Down: slow service and food about the average

Great little local spot! Nice vibe and nicely setup. Food is tasty and looks amazing!

I’ve been here twice, tried three dishes and loved all of them! So glad to call this my local. And there is a nice courtyard at the back.

I decided to pop into Old Faithful cafe for a coffee before an appointment, and I'm glad that I did. The ladies working here were lovely and very welcoming and it was a relaxed environment. It has a nice layout with a cosy look and plenty of natural light.

The menu looked interesting with a lot of cafe standards, but because we didn't have long we just had coffee and cake. The display cabinet had a nice offering, and we had a yummy and rich chocolate cake. The coffee was great, and everything arrived fairly quickly.

The cafe was reasonably busy, especially with takeaways. Their location is on a busy main road, so this makes sense. I was happy with the food, coffee and service, and would absolutely return at a later date.
Old faithful cafe isn't that reliable.

First of all, service, we waited waaaaaay to long to have our order taken. But that did give us enough time to look around and count how many of their plants were dying (it was all of them). In the end we waiting almost 15 minutes for our order to be taken.

Well hopefully the food was worth the wait! Nooooope. The big breakfast was fine, but the Eggs Benedict was insanely salty to the point of being inedible.

Might be time to send Old Faithful to the "farm" upstate.

Food beautifully presented. Avo very nice, waffles were ok. We waited far too long for service and food though.
Geez do you think I can have some coffee with my cup of hot milk. Not great at all. Pretty suprised of the great reviews hopefully the foods better than their coffee. Waste of 4.30

This is our fave local cafe! Great value for money, amazing food and friendly service. We’ve been at least 10 times in the past few months...had to put a ban on as our waistlines were expanding...

I came here with my friends for a Saturday lunch.
The service was good and so were the food.

I shared the Old Brekkie Big Breakfast and the Belgium waffles.

The only fault was I thought the waffles could’ve been more crunchy.

I would recommend to come here if you want your classic typical brunch dishes, Old Faithful Cafe does do it right!

Rate: 4/5
I’ve been wanting to come here for a while and I finally went for brunch this morning and I LOVED it!! The food and creativity on the plate was amazingly presented and tasted good too. Can’t wait to try other things off their menu great job guys!!

Enjoyed a lovely pre-Christmas brunch with friends in the outdoor courtyard at Old Faithful. What a lovely space. Perfect for our group with some kids in tow - the chalkboard kept everyone entertained so we could enjoy our coffee.
Service was quick and friendly and the food was delicious, especially the instagram-worthy waffles!!
Thank you, we will be back soon 😃😃

Came to Old Faithful for some breakfast (mid afternoon). I decided to go with the “old faithful big breakfast” & was very impressed. Well seasoned veg, perfectly poached eggs and a very decent serve of food. Couldn’t finish my meal! Coffee was also great, will be back again.

What a great little cafe. First of all, the staff were absolutely delightful! Attended to my fur baby with a water bowl as soon as we walked in. I had a chai latte which was so tasty (allllmost got a second). Got the Eastern Sunrise Breakfast (with spinach added as an extra) - generous amount of haloumi and delightful flat bread, just would’ve loved more of that homemade hummus đŸ€€đŸ€€ my friend got the breakfast board but swapped out the chorizo for bacon and added haloumi. The sorbet on top of the granola, we were told, was made in house & that the chef makes everything from scratch. It was nice to see the pride in what was served from the waiters. Old Faithful is definitely worth a visit!

Great venue. The courtyard is huge out back! A great space to enjoy brunch. The waffles are great. The house made honeycomb on the waffles are a real hit!!
Foodie Buff123
The smashed avo with poached eggs on top was amazing! Just the right amount of spice and balanced with some flecks of feta. We will be back to have this little gem again!!

Coffee pick up from old faithful today, nice coffee & friendly, quick service. Love the decor in the cafe. It seems to be a poplar spot with the locals.

On the run, I needed to refuel.
Cute little cafe, with a very comforting atmosphere. Is it enough?
I orded a chicken focaccia but it was the hardest thing to eat because of the bread!!!! The only delicious thing about it was the chicken. Full of flavor and so crispy. However, i couldn't enjoy it. Also the service could have been better... more smiles.

This place is a very pleasant surprise. It's located on a pretty dull looking street, but the cafe itself is very cute. It's a bit squeezy inside, but there are big tables outside with big outdoor heaters and umbrellas. The menu has a Middle Eastern twist, and all of the breakfast food is really delicious and beautifully presented. The avo smash is especially yummy, with Meredith goat's cheese and pomegranate seeds. Reasonable prices, decent coffee, friendly staff. I have only tried a couple of items on the lunch menu, and they've been pretty average, but the brekky menu keeps me coming back.

We came for breakfast for the first time. The place is cute and really spacious -plenty of tables. The coffee was great; creamy all the way down to the bottom. The menu was basic but reasonable. We ordered breakfast burger and fritters. The size was good value but we both found that the flavours were lacking. Will prob just return for coffee and cakes next time.

Great coffee, always friendly, competent service and good food. Can be hard to get a table on a Sat morning, but rear deck is a great space when the weather is suitable. Love the fact that the kids’ menu is real food, not just nuggets.
Jess Hardess
The coffee is always amazing, if I'm ever near the area I always allow myself some extra time to stop in.
I've never eaten a proper meal there but the sausage rolls are to die for
Leena
Modern looking cafe in between shops on the road towards Citylink. Beautiful coffee aroma at entry serves light fresh roasting beans. I ordered takeaway strong latte and the taste came out awesome☆ The normal latte was very weak for us but definitely they sell excellent coffee.

Love love love the coffee here. I haven't tried any of their food yet but if anyone wants a good coffee, this is the place to go. Well done guys đŸŒŸđŸ’„đŸ’«đŸ‘đŸŒ

Great cafe in Pascoe Vale. Excellent service & great coffee. Another great meal at Old Faithful.
Barramundi with mango & avocado salad, super fresh & tasty. Look forward to returning :)

Eastern sunrise is delicious as is the Tim Tam Milkshake! We've been here a few times now and have always found the food to be quite decent and the staff to be great.

Good and friendly service
Didn't have enough time to try the food but
Coffee ain't the best
Will try it out once more, hoping I'll get some coffee art 😞
Debbie Williams
Food and service was great but it was so noisy. There were only a couple of other tables, but the noise from the staff doing normal cafe things reverberated around the space. Might come back when it's warm and can sit outside but my daughter found the noise levels uncomfortable.

Breakfasts are spot on .. Really tasty and very generous servings , mr benedict , Mexican eggs 👌
The kids love coming here - the ricotta pancakes are favourite
FoodingAroundMelbourne
Yummo. Mexican baked eggs were as near perfect as if ever had and eastern sunrise was also good. Half point off for warm coffee though. Carrot cupcake was amazing, not positive it was made in house though.

The food at this café is AMAZING. Also, the coffee is made with love and is perfect and creamy, every time.So excited to have a great café so close to home that we know we'll enjoy each time we go in. Having said that, it is dangerous knowing we have a great café so close to home. I mean dangerous in a good way :)The staff here are really nice and always welcoming. We keep going back time and time again because we know the service is awesome and the food and coffee is perfect......EVERY TIME :)

Absolutely stunning cafe have loved all the food ive tried so far The Smash, Mr Benedict and the Gnocchi are by far my favorite. Also the oreo milkshake is to die for. Staff are really lovely and owner Steve is very hospitable giving the cafe a really comfortable & relaxed atmosphere. Great gem in the heart of Pasco Vale South.

The apple crumble French toast was quite nice. I did like but crumble on top and the portion was quite big. My French toast was burnt. The crumble helped cover the burnt taste. My boyfriend the hotty hot cakes and it did look pretty small portion wise. I also got juice with watermelon,Apple etc which Was nice - it was refreshing and sweet and my boyfriend got a hot chocolate, which was also quite nice.

Ive been a local here for all my life. I decided to get 2 hot chocolates one for my mum and I, we were greatly disappointed with it, unmixed chocolate powder at the bottom, tasted like water, I felt ripped off. I then decided to give Old Faithful another chance, and once again I was ripped off, $7 for a roll, half a roll. Will not be coming here with my family or friends again.

Old Faithful Breakfast. Very tasty, will lots of flavor. I'm particularly impressed with be big serving too!
Lion In Zion
Very good indeed. Had lunch here today for the first time. We were very impressed. It's the epitome of the modern inner Melbourne cafe, complete with avocado smash, poached eggs, excellent coffee and young staff. It has only been open for six weeks and the courtyard area has yet to open. Great to see new life being breathed into one of Pascoe Vale South's neighbourhood shopping strips. It feels like the cafe revolution is beginning to liven up this suburb at last. Which leads me to one final point - this cafe is in Pascoe Vale South, not Essendon.

Genuinely welcoming and friendly. This cafe is fabulous, great food, neat fit out and genuinely warm and friendly staff. The Eastern sunrise was delish. Great sized meals and really tasty. The pancakes were melt in your mouth amazing.

Kids had pancakes which were devoured and got to love a place that volunteers to offer kids size milkshakes. the local cafes that pretend to be kid friendly in an attempt to get more custom, could take quite a few tips from these guys in terms of service and atmosphere.
Buon Gusto
Great local cafe. Gnocchi are delectable. So soft and melt in mouth. We are so happy to have such a great eatery @ our doorstep. Well done guy
Dom_piet
Yum. Had the Mediterranean sunrise (so did my wife) and went with kids, yum, yum yum !!!!

Visited for breakfast this morning for the first time and safe to say I will definitely be back. Fantastic breakfast and atmosphere. I had the "old faithful" brekkie and it was spot on. The crushed advocado was the best I've ever had. My fiancé had the eastern sunrise and she loved it. I think this will be our new Sunday spot.
I hope in the future they look into doing evening meals. I know I'll be a regular here. Well done. Great food. Great staff 10/10

Great breakfast. Had the Eastern Sunrise. Good amount f toast and holumi. Great combo for breakfast . Loved it. Staff very friendly and unpretentious- which is a rarity in cafes around the area these days. Looking forward to the courtyard opening.

Stephen the new owner always offers a friendly face and welcoming attitude which really helps on some mornings! I usually grab a quick Egg'n'Bacon Toastie and a piece of Peri Peri Chicken fillet if I'm particularly hungry. When I have more time to shoot the breeze, I will eat in and order an Iced Coffee which is divine. Looking forward to the post-renovation look and change of name to Old Faithful Cafe =)
