We went there today. Entree was oysters 3 ways with crispy squid and sticky squid. It 's the best entree I've had bar none. Main was Moroccan lamb shanks over cuoscous, matched with a Little creatures beer. Well worth going to. Big plate with a generous amount of food.

This is an excellent family bistro. We often attend as a family and have never been disappointed. We recently held our sons 18th Birthday here and they were fantastic. A special thank you to Chloe who made the event so special. She is an absolute asset to your staff.

Great food including vegetarian and vegan options. Decent to large serves that are reasonably priced. Great play area for kids to keep them amused.

Fantastic food and great customer service!! We had our son's 4 years old birthday there on Sunday night and the whole customer experience has been wonderful. We booked a table of 20 and the staff was very helpful in arranging an area even when the desired area was fully booked. On the night, we found out there was a live singer/guitarist playing and we were fortunate to be seated in front of her. Our son was very intrigued with her singing, such an amazing singer! Despite being a busy night for the staff, they was very responsive and friendly at any of our requests. The night was seamless and we had a wonderful night. Thank-you to all the Staff at HPH!

Their play area and the jumping castle are a hit with the kids. The food and the prices are above average. They have healthy platter for the kids which gets a thumbs up from me. Overall nice experience and will definitely be visiting again.

Our regular family hangout for Friday evenings when you just want to chill and have dinner and a beer... The play area for kids are great to keep them entertained while the adults can sit chat and have a beer or two. While the menu is above average pub food, so is the price. Quality is okay but the steaks are consistently overcooked for what you ordered when they are busy. Otherwise everything else is okay without being exceptional. The winner is their family oriented setup the atmosphere.

Very busy on Saturday night, with a lot of kids and families. Food was great though, I was very impressed! Was expecting a lot less. Would definitely come back, even at the busy time! Pub is still quite newly renovated, too.

We have been coming to HPH for several years now and have always enjoyed the food. Yes it gets busy and noisy with the kids play area but there are quieter areas as well. We always find the meals tasty & fresh but today I saw they had a kids platter (with fresh fruit, veggie sticks, cheese, ham & bread roll) added to their kids menu. So nice to see healthier options than just chips & nuggets like most bistros. Well done :)

Haven't been here for ages and boy has it come a long way. It was busy - and most people were there to eat. They have a big menu full of variety. Wanted the ribs but decided on a grilled halloumi and whiskey fig salad, made with pumpkin, chick peas, semi dried tomato, red onion, roquette, mixed baby lettuce and dressed with an aged balsamic vinaigrette.

Cool pub, cool place, bistro on the expensive side and meals not that big for the price so I might just stick to drinking the occasional beer or 2 there only.
Regards,
The local.

Food at Penno Pub has been a roller coaster over the last decade. From tasting great, to good value, to serving size. It’s been up and down and all over the place in each respect. They really cheaped out at one point during the pandemic (cost saving??) One tiny piece of fish (think the size of 2 nuggets) for a kids meal.. we took it back asking if it was a mistake ?!? Currently (Feb ‘22) the kitchen crew is making tasty meals and the serving size is back up again. Hopefully stays this way.

A big surprise. It is a pub. But a very good pub. Decor is great and the space well laid out. Went with a family of 12. Everybody loved it. Especially the food. Not one person had anything bad to say about the food and most said it was the best pub food they've ever had. Even the kids. The prices were reasonable as well. Plenty of variety of beer on tap and the prices were also good as well. This place is much better than any of the clubs in the district, although I assume it can get pretty busy on weekends or anytime. It would be popular when it gets to summer especially in the outdoor eating area. I recommend you book ahead. I hope they keep the standard up. I will be coming back again and again while it lasts
