Review Eastern City Chinese Restaurant - Pennant Hills

Went there for dinner last night and wondered why we were the only ones there until the food came out. The presentation was terrible and the food tasted bad. Will not go back again. I noted the response from the restaurant. We went there very hungry, and there were very few morsels of food on the plates in the first place to finish. When asked about the food, my wife did tell someone there that we were not over-joyed by it. We both felt unwell after. We noted after leaving there, the other local restaurants open still had a considerable amount of people dining.

Sorry guys, but it was awful( I spent $70 (takeaway), and everything was in the rubbish. Dumplings were raw and “extremely fresh”. Chicken wings were boiled in pastry yuck( Unfrozen food after microwave, terrible taste. Never again (

Ordered food on numerous occasions, (via Menulog, Bad.) Thank God this restaurant has owners who actually care and have personally delivered the food themselves. Food definitely 5 Star. ( That Prawn Curry 😋😋😋😋😋 OMG )

Take away. Disappointing is an understatement. More like appalling. Ordered 3 dishes + entree + fried rice. One dish totally inedible, Peking Shredded Beef.DO NOT ORDER THIS DISH. Spring rolls obviously reheated/refried. Other dishes mediocre at best. Why is it soooo hard to do decent Chinese anymore? After the owners response, I will take them up on dining in, after Covid, to give them another chance. My initial review stands. The beef was inedible and it was not because of any delay in either picking it up or serving at home. We have had shredded beef many, many times over the years but have been searching for a replacement since our regular closed.

We love dining here for the fantastic, authentic cuisine and the warm, family service. A spacious and comfortable restaurant, we have enjoyed dining here for years and the quality and standard of their dishes is always stunning. See you soon!

My family have been coming here for 5+ years. Their food is authentic Chinese and tastes amazing. Not only is their food great, their customer service is second to none. They have always made us feel welcome and we have no hesitation to book dinner and family events.

Best Chinese in the Pennant Hills / Hornsby area - period. Food is consistently excellent and Louise at the front desk is so helpful and friendly. Can't recommend highly enough.

Excellent food. Great service. Ran by same lovely family for at least 13 years. Nice atmosphere for dinner. Lunch special is awesome value. Very consistent and generously sized meals.

Always reliable, always good food.

Very tasty. All dishes ordered were great, particularly the salt and pepper squid.  Reasonably priced and the room itself out of the way and comfortably spacious.  Definitely going again. Kids enjoyed the artful carrot sculptures.

Went for dinner with 4 neighbours tonight. Quiet night, but the food was delicious and the waiter had a great sense of humour. We will definitely be back!<br/>A great local restaurant.

We come here a lot and also order home delivery as it's in our local area. Maybe some dishes aren't as fancy as the city restaurants but they're still full of flavor and are generously sized plates. It's a family run business and the staff are always very friendly and attentive. We always enjoy our meals here.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS HIDDEN GEM! Really fresh tasty Chinese, reasonable prices, week-day only 'lunchtime specials'! Very attentive staff - nothing's a problem incl allergies. Very clean, not crammed.tall windows extend full length of restaurant.. Be aware entrance is up quite a few stairs- no lift. Fabulous for family get-togethers/birthdays/functions & for a relaxing lunch or intimate evening meal. Nightly home deliveries. Fast take-away - our 20+ take-away 'feasts' this year have all been delicious! My 83yr old mum 'loves' their tender sweet & sour chicken (best ever) & our greatly world-travelled relatives from Singapore 'raved' about their food & always go back here when they're in Sydney. Ever since I started dating my fiance, we discovered a new place close to his family’s home which has quickly become a favorite. Even though it’s not close to his place or mine, whenever we visit his family, we love visiting this place!

Lets settle the score on this place.. 100% rating and the 2 positive reviews are a bit of a joke, this place is a very very average westernized Chinese fast food 'restaurant'. All the food is basic and greasy as hell. Really not much care, just slapped together, nothing is fresh. That being said, if greasy westernized simple chinese food is your thing, you'll find this places free delivery + free prawn chips + free corn soup thing quite inciting. It makes fantastic 'munchies' food (their honey chicken was everything I was expecting). So you'll enjoy it if you're not necessarily looking for 'traditional chinese' and just some junk food.

Old style Chinese. Lots of old world Chinese style charm. Very good local restaurant with courteous staff and quick efficient service. Very good food. Well worth the visit
