Review Star Buffet Family Restaurant - Penrith

I've been years going to this restaurant, and I've been more than ten times there. I've always had wonderful experiences. There is a big variety of food. My favourite always is the sushi train.

Apart from the fantastic feeling of being back in a buffet (completely unassisted) for the first time in early two years, I was blown away by the quality and variety of food. With such reasonable prices too ($31 on a Saturday night), I’ll definitely be back!

Had dinner here, nice & clean venue. Food was okay, sweet sour pork tasted bland & not fresh. Seafood selection good. Sushi train some variety. No drinks option in price. Fruit was fresh, usual chips & nuggets for kids

Food good but not great. Plenty of variety to choose from. Clean. Friendly service. Kids enjoyed the choice of dessert 😊

I recommend people to come here only on special occasions as the food is fresh and much nicer varieties. On other days the food isn't worth the price. The seafood isn't fresh, the sushi didn't taste or look good, the dessert isn't nice, even the watermelon tasted bad. How can you even go wrong with watermelon? It tasted dry and old. My stomach is killing me now along with 1 more family member. Drinks aren't even included. Got 4 cups of drink for $16. Rip offff

The food is fantastic Went back Friday nite after awhile due to Covid. Got there 5.30pm. One of the first people. Had honey chicken, sweet & sour pork, salt & pepper squid,American ribs, scallop mornay, garlic prawns, scalloped potatoes., Bowl of pumpkin soup. Dessert was American cheesecake, red velvet slice, pavlova, watermelon, creme brulee, cotton candy, cup of coffee. Quality of food was very reasonable especially with the price increase. It used to be around $25 , now it's $33. They do have fresh prawns but I didn't get any. They also have a chocolate fountain

I cant bring myself to rate anymore than one as I am very disgusted in the star buffet today on Fathers day as not only was the hot dishes cold but there was no hot meat on the servery they were too busy topping up the hot baked potatoes and pumpkin which there was plenty of . Nearly $35 for an adult for cold food and salads absolutely rubbish and not acceptable for a nice fathers day lunch. wont be going to star buffet next year.

If I could give this zero stars I would. I was here last night for my nieces birthday. I was reluctant to return here as my last experience was not a positive one either. The food was terrible to say the least. Nothing was fresh and I have woken up with the worst belly pains. I would not recommend eating here and will definitely never return.

Been here a few times and was always good. This time it was that good. They weren't that busy and everything looked half full. Didn't really restock, like they normal do. There food was a bit dried out. chips were cold, not that nice. The pumpkin soup was good. I don't really care much with the desserts. Wasn't that good tonight.

Not the best buffet, also not the best staff
They have so many choices but their food is either too salty/sweet or too bland
Sushi has never been fresh when I went there
But it's at a convenient location and there's always so many people there
Food runs out quickly but is replaced quickly as well

All of the star buffets are horrendous so why would the penrith one be any better?
The food is obviously horrible quality. But that's obviously what you expect when you pay like $30 for a buffet.
The only thing you can enjoy that has some flavour is the Chinese dishes. Usually you will find one decent dish maybe two, to try and get your money's worth.
They buy most of their desserts from Coles because I have seen the exact desserts in the Coles home brand.
Meaning they are very tasteless soggy or that gross cheap spongy feel.
