Review La Notte Uno - Penrith

Device started off good but seemed to dwindle off when the owner was not around. Ended up leaving with no coffee or dessert

YUM!! Beautiful food, friendly service and very reasonably priced. Owner is always there and greets you no matter what he is doing. Would definitely recommend. I have eaten in once but prefer take away as the service is quick and portion size is fantastic.

Quite average. The waitress served us a bottle of water for the table with no glasses to drink out of. She didn't know her menu- my friend asked for a pasta dish but it turned up as meat and veg dish-the waitress didn't clarify if it was the pasta dish or the main dish. I had the seafood hotpot- i got food poisoning an hour later. They didn't clear our plates after the entree- we had to ask and we also had to ask for service a few times as the waitress was too busy gas bagging to team mates. I won't reccommend anywhere that gave me food poisoning.

Visited here about three months ago with a small group of five people - the food was fine and I would come back. But visited here again last week for a group function and I can honestly say that it was worst meal I have had at a restaurant, no love in the food preparation at all. The amount of food returning to the kitchen after everyone had finished was disgraceful. Wont be returning.

My partner and I love this restaurant. Service is impeccable, food is delicious with a great range of choices for everyone. Great value for money. By far our first choice when we eat out, they never fail to impress us!

I had organised a large booking for my co-workers and myself for the upstairs area they had there. When we arrived it seemed as if we caught them off guard as we were quickly shuffled next door to an area as there was another group in the upstairs area I had booked which closed off the group a fair bit. The food was reasonably priced and quite a nice meal. Unfortunately, the staff there seemed unhappy to be there and not even in the room for half of the night. It was very hard to get a drink or even a waitresses attention. All in all it wasn't the night I had planned for and was very dissapointed. I might try this place again in a smaller group of 2 or 3.

Lovely little Italian spot, all the simple things done extremely well and reasonably priced! The bruschetta is a must try! The pasta is delicious and the coffee is just as good as the rest of it!

Best Italian food, wonderful family environment, excellent chef, served my 3 year old granddaughter a delicious complementary bowl of rice pudding, which was so delicious, we all had to try it, sooo delicious, meals were melt in your mouth veal, we will definitely be returning to this awesome restaurant

So wanted this to be great. Don’t know where to start, the staff were very pleasant but the food was sadly lacking. Veal saltimbocca, supposed to be served with a brown butter sage sauce but came covered in gravy, only one piece of three had prosciutto on it. Meat was tough. Margherita pizza like frozen pizza, pumpkin n ravioli had a ricotta filling no pumpkin to be seen. Disappointing birthday dinner. I’m sure you guys can do better just need to get some enthusiasm going for a great cuisine.

Staff where so lovely but the food was awful such a shame as it seems like a lovely place to go and would of gone back if the food was nice but it was terrible iv been sick since I got home. They didn’t even give us a drink for free as a sorry.

What an astounding find in Penrith. Everything we ordered was absolutely packed with flavour and faultless. Easily the best restaurant we've visited since moving to Penrith. Von our hostess is charming and engaging regarding menu choices. The Prawn Hotpot is as good as anything I've had anywhere as was our veal dish and flash fried squid. If you have never been, run do not walk to La Notte Uno.

My family have just ordered a take away meal this evening. My parents are local but i am not and i need to let you know of our utter disappointment in the meal. The fettuccine marinara had only 2 prawns and some tiny bits of fish. The meal did come with a complimentary stale slice bread partially wrapped in foil. As i am visiting from Far Nth Queensland and we ordered this as a bit of a treat for my mother that loves Italian seafood meals. I am very disapointed. My parents are very upset. Just thought i would send a message to give you some feedback on our experience. Thank you Regards Jill

It's very rare that I give out five star reviews, as good service is hard to find these days. I came here tonight for the first time, lived in Penrith most of my life and never thought to check this place out. Its very hard to find a good Italian Restaurant ever since Danny's on High closed a few years ago. I've tried many others, one in York Street, the new Avoca, but nothing seemed to cut it. However tonight I was pleasantly surprised. Did a search online and this little place came up, some mixed reviews, however most of the reviews were old. I arrived to order a take away to be greeted at the door by the owner himself, Antonio (the face on the menu). Ordered a Gnocchi Pesto and Carbonara, and Ravioli. Some of the best pasta I've eaten in the Penrith area for a good 4-5 years. To add to this, the prices were too good to be true, great value and well sized. I look forward to going back and eating in next time, very impressed, I'll be returning again and again. Well done.

I celebrated my birthday here for lunch yesterday and everything was absolutely perfect. It felt like the restaurant was open just for us: the service was magnificent, the food tasted amazing, and I was treated like royalty. My family & I had a wonderful experience and I would recommend this restaurant to everyone, for any occasion or just to enjoy quality food. Thank you La Notte, I had a fantastic day!

Went for my nephews birthday. Absolutely disgusting food tasted like packet mix pasta. Pizza was under cooked. Will never go there again.

Our favorite restaurant to go to on Special Occasions....son's choice for his birthday yesterday and it was a terrible experience! For starters I had made a reservation for 6 people to find out you had no table ready waiting, the service and wait staff was bloody terrible and this time the food was nothing to rave about. The wait time between getting menus and then order was 30 minutes. The wait time for food was even longer that both my kids started to fall asleep at the table waiting. We were so disappointed with everything this time that we didn't even consider staying for dessert. Not a great way to end a birthday. We won't be coming back in the near future which I am sad to say.

Quick review : Been here once before, food was alright, prices were reasonable but atmosphere is cramped and not spaced well. Overall would say to check it out for yourself.

Long review:

Atmosphere in this restaurant is 50/50 with me , it puts of the italian vibe and warm welcoming you would like but can get very dark and cramped , the tables are not spaced well and the restaurant is darker in some places.

Service:

The service was friendly and quick but slowly degraded over the night, our waitress forgot things which does happen from time to time but overall it was 50/50.

Food:

Bruschetta was very yummy nice and fresh tomatos with balsamic, the food was also quite quick to come out which is a plus. The pesto pasta, the pasta was nice but the sauce was way to creamy and oiley to the point where i couldn't finish.. maybe it was just a coincidence i got the one bad time but it was on the lower end for restaurant pasta.

Overall:

Nice little restaurant with some improvements to be made but other than that it is worth trying out.

Staff are lovely, but pricing expensive. Meal 5/10. This has so much potential.

Awful food. We went as a party of ten for a mothers day celebration. From entree to main this food would have to be the worst ive had. Bruschetta was brown, limp tomato on bread with no taste. The fried calamari was all breadcrumbs and chewy rubbery calamari. The worst was the mains, three of us had carbonara, apart from being bland it had a distinct plastic smell. The pasta is obviously stored in plastic and all three dishes, despite having different sauces had the same plastic smell. Other mains were bland and tasteless.

Pub food at best. Expensive pub-style food. Very young waitresses weren't particularly on the ball, salad was ok but porterhouse steak was sinewy and leathery, veal was also leathery, meals were basically fairly boring - and mighty expensive, unless I was overcharged (didn't get an itemised receipt). Also very hot with only one reverse cycle aircon. Restaurant needs to lift its game and get a better chef - or charge pub prices.

First timer. First time customer, after reading reviews we decided to try it out.
service was great, the waitresses were lovely and extremely helpful. We weren't happy with one of the dishes so the chef went back to the kitchen and within 10 minutes had another dish for us. The pasta was great, bruchetta was extremely fresh and after discussing, we would go back again primarily on the quality of service provided.

Sadly Disappointing. Having recently moved close to Penrith and at the suggestion of friends we tried Lucaino's for dinner recently.

Ambiance and service was great and I must say that the bruschetta we enjoyed as a starter was fresh and delicious. But, the pasta!

Seeing staff open a large packet of Latina pasta and plunge it into a pot of boiling water! Enough said really.
Me
(un)satisfied. Waiters were helpful, but slow and few. Menu was limited and misleading. The ventian pasta dish, described as creamy pasta in a white wine sauce turned out to be nothing more then an overpowering pesto dish, I wouldn't be surprised if the sauce was woolworths bought. It is a dish that could be made at home for less than $10, in less than 10 minutes. The garlic pizza, ordered as an entree, didn't have any garlic on it. Just a few herbs.
Overall this dining expirience was disappointing and I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here again.

Bland Italian Food. We went to Lucianos for the first time. We had walked past it many times so thought we'd give it a go seeing as it was in the top 11 restaurants in Penrith. The service was great, friendly, fast but the food was not so great. We ordered the Garlic Cheese which was nice but had way too mcuh cheese on it and was very oily. My main of Lasagne was dry and bland, from what I could see and taste there wasn't a single herb in it. Judging by how dry it was it was as if they'd just put some beef mince and some crushed tomotoesand drained out the liquid and threw some cheese on top. Very disappointing. My partner ordered the Bosciola and Veal. The Bosciola was watery and again bland, the veal was very nice but the mushroom sauce was again flavourless. It is very disappointing when you go out to an Italian restaurant and get sub par food that you can make better yourself at home for under $10. I won't be returning here again.

Very disappointed.. We headed out as a group of five adults and two kids to celebrate a birthday. Whilst we had a very polite and friendly waiter who did his best throughout the night, the food was not at all what was expected. Three of the five meals were fine but my veal inviltido(sp?) was luke warm. The sauce was watery and had little flavour. The vegetables were cold and unappealing. Whilst they were reheated and a new meal sent out (very nice of them) it was still just warm in most parts and tasteless. My son's meal - porterhouse parmigiana was also barely warm. Whilst there were some parts that he enjoyed on the whole he complained of too much fat and a large piece of sinew through it which rendered it indelible. we were offered free drinks and the waiter could not have been nicer. I would not recommend it at all. We ended up at panthers for dessert. We weren't prepared to take our chances.

Luciano's. It was 15 minutes before we were asked if we'd like a drink and we were only asked once. We needed to flag someone down each time we were thirsty. At one stage I thought we might have better luck flagging down a passing car...

The Entree: Oysters Kilpatrick were absolutely fantastic, they were the best we've had anywhere. 10/10

The 1st Main: It took 1 hour... that's right 1 hour to receive our mains and they weren't overly busy. Veal Involtini was of a reasonable size however the quality wasn't great. The vegetables were served wet, cold and plain liked they'd been tipped on to the plate straight from the pot of water 10 minutes before the meat was ready. The veal was very good as was the sauce. If it had of been put together better it could have been great. 4/10

The 2nd Main: Marinara Fettucine was of reasonable size and quality. The garlic was a little strong but we like garlic so that was ok for us. We asked the waiter for Parmesan cheese and he walked away to another table and never returned. Again I thought of flagging down a car but we eventually found another waiter. 5/10

The service was friendly but poor and the worst we've experienced in a long time. They forgot to bring a fork for one of us with the oysters and brought an extra plate instead, only God knows what the extra plate was for. Choice of wine by the glass was limited to Shiraz or Merlot. Prices were ok, but we expected much more.

Just Lovely. Picked Luciano's because of the number of 'likes' on urbanspoon. We werent disappointed. It was a very busy Saturday night, but staff were polite and friendly and the restaurant had lovely ambiance. We started with oysters Kilpatrick. These were quite simply superb. My wife and I agreed that they are the best we have ever had and we arent exactly spring chickens. The oysters themselves were large and tasty and the bacon and sauce were mutually complimentary. We were trying to work out what the 'secret' ingredient was in the sauce. A touch of sugar or maybe a little fresh tomato. Dont know but the oysters were succulent and almost a meal in themsleves.

We had a fillet steak and veal dish for mains. The sauces on both were lovely and the meat content very good, but not outstanding, but still a very good meal.

Surprised that there was no risotto on the menu and you couldnt order a single glass of chianti, but this is nit picking as the meal and experience was very good and we will have a new bench mark on the oysters.
