The food was delicious and the staff were so friendly and helpful. They made it a wonderful lunch for is all and even put a candle in my husband's dessert for his birthday. We would highly recommend this restaurant as we have been here twice now and both times were great

Food was appalling - sauce was very salty but chicken was dry & tasteless. Service was quick though. The ‘highlight’ was definitely being served fried ice cream that was still raw & frozen. When I pointed out to a waiter that the ice-cream wasn’t ‘fried’, he told me that was how fried ice-cream should be served 🤮

Got the peaking style chicken. It was nice, but a little dry. We ordered Mongolian lamb, but it never came out. However, it worked out because the chicken portion was huge. Thankfully they didn't charge and cancelled the lamb. It came out at a decent enough time, but the restaurant was empty when we went so keep that in mind. I read other reviews and have noticed some of the same problems. Thankfully, the experience was positive overall. Staff were polite to me at least,

This was a good choice for food. Service was bright and cheerful. We ordered and it was served very promptly without waiting too long a time. We loved the Lamb Mongolian and Pork in Peking Sauce. The other dishes were very good too!

I've found that the food and service is consistently good. High quality ingredients, tasty and fresh. The food always comes out quickly. The staff are attentive and polite. The Ming is an excellent location to watch the sun go down of an evening. We've tried many Chinese restaurants since moving to Penrith three years ago and have found that this is the best. It also has an excellent group menu and a separate room for events.

Me and my partner decided to have dinner here last night before seeing a comedian in the Evans theatre. We order drinks entrees and mains at the same time, our drinks came out but it had been a half an hour and we hadn’t even got our entrees yet. A different waiter to the one who took out order came over and asked if he had ordered yet and I said yes a long time ago and he proceeded to go over and speak to the waiter who took our order and then he come back to tell us they hadn’t even put our order through? We had no time to wait even longer for our food by now we had our show to go to, so we just walked out very disappointed. Luckily Harry’s pies out the front of panthers had very fast, cheap and friendly service otherwise we would of been very hungry during our show.

Not our first visit, but now probably the worst Chinese restaurant in Penrith in our books. Fish was clearly cooked from frozen and hard as rubber. Overall taste was very average. Wait staff, although young and enthusiastic, were a little bit inept - forgetting an order of table water, leaving extra place settings on the table, not removing extra chairs. Also we were not even greeted on arrival with a simple good evening - 3 staff at the entrance were busy over a single customer while we waited in clear view immediately behind. Won't be coming back.

This place was advertised as doing Yum Cha but before, it’s not the one you would expect carts to be pushed around. They have a to-order menu with about 10-15 items only on it. Prices were way too steep for the quality and tastiness of the food. I would definitely not come back here for Yum Cha.

This place has to be one of the worst Chinese in Sydney if anyone knows a place worse let me know because I won't believe they exist in 2019

Re written review :

Absolutely gone down hill and disgusting...

Food took ages to come out and came out in different periods of time to the point the "fried rice" was cold before the other dishes came out.

Broccoli was boderline raw and was cold! Portions have been cut down significantly.

The duck was all bones and skin!

.
Wouldn't reccommend.

Usually we have a great meal at the Ming, but today was the exception. First mistake: we tried to book a table after the Panthers match ," no problem, come anytime after 730" and then they hung up. No name was taken,no number. So we arrive, no record of the reservation ( of course, that wasn't a surprise). We are shown to our table in the obviously busy restaurant. And we wait.
And we wait some more.
And then some more. About ten other tables enter, receive drinks and menus and food. But we still wait.
Thirty minutes after entering, I have to ask a waitress for menus, but she doesn't even take our drink order. Meanwhile, another ten tables have sat, received drinks and food. So we wait for another 15minutes. And still nothing.
My husband decided enough is enough and we walk out. He called the restaurant to ask why we were forgotten, we are a small party of 3, but we're in a clearly visible table along a very well trodden path. Whoever answered the phone apologised, but that's not good enough. We left, hungry , and headed for steaks at Outback Steakhouse, where we already have drinks , menus and our table is ready.

Always a pleasure coming here to eat. The staff are polite and helpful, the food comes out impressively fast and tastes divine. I thoroughly enjoy eating here

No service. My wife and I went last night for dinner, poor service and the waiters are oblivious to customers.

One of the best Chinese eat-outs I've been too, anywhere in the world, and I've had the privilege of going to quite a few. Good food, great service!

Just horrible.. What a waste of space this place is.
They have NFI on what Chinese food should taste like, let alone Malay.
The worst Chinese/ Malay meal I have ever had.
Would recommend you try Harry De Wheels in the car park over this slop house.

Just awful. Tasteless, salty over sauced. Comparable to the worst "Australian Chinese" suburban takeaway. To suggest it compares with genuine Chinese food is laughable !!

Won't be back.. Sunday Yum Cha at The Ming in Penrith today and it's ammature food & service at best. The food was limited in variety, poor quality, over priced, and inauthentic. Plates were being collected at the tables near to us, who sat their large porter trolley of dirty dishes next to us while we ate. General sweeping was happening around us which contributed to poor atmosphere. You don't even get a chopsticks & the marking sheet had a different restaurant name on it.

Worst Meal Ever. I thought I was taking my wife out for her birthday last night to a top restaurant. I was mistaken. The atmosphere was like a cattle barn with people, waiters and carts of prepared food being shuffled around. It was an in and out affair as they obviously were trying to get as many people on seats as they possibly could. I noticed several times that as people finished their meals their seat was still warm as the next animals were seated.

The meals we had were disgusting, had no flavor and were far over priced. We had entrees and main meal each to share plus drinks to the tune of $91.

We will not be returning to this barnyard.

I highly recommend the Ming for a casual dinner or for a family/friends occasion. The restaurant is huge. It's hard to imagine when the place would be completely full. The Ming has a meal for every taste and each time I've been the meals did not disappoint. Excellent service, ambience and portions.
Iceman
Outstanding!!. The Ming consistently serves up food that rivals anything I've had elsewhere, even the Flowerdrum in Melbourne.
