Review High Street Social - Penrith

Came on a quiet Sunday night. They were only able to serve Pizzas and Cubanos for some reason. Pizzas were good, soft crust, and unique, chips were a bit salty on the other hand.

Great beer selection, lovely staff and awesome food! Highly recommend! You'd have to have no taste buds to not enjoy this place!

Love love love the atmosphere and the food, we had a large range of food including pizza, squid, chicken wings and pork belly. Although they were unable to do pizza without cheese, all the food taste great and was beautifully cooked! Air hockey and some arcade games to keep the adult kids occupied between drinks too

I was so happy with the service I received at High Street Social when I had my sons first birthday there. Not only were they extremely accommodating by organising it at short notice, but they provided the best platters of food (and plenty of it!), their service was quick and friendly, and the atmosphere was perfect. I highly recommend High Street Social for any events but also even for a lunch or dinner, as their food and drinks menu is great. Thank you again!

Located at the end of high street, the social has a contemporary indoor setting with nice mood lighting and also outdoor seats too. The service was great and food was even better. I ordered the big Mike, it was huge. With a side of chips and an amazing creme brulee as pictured. Will definitely come back and try some of the other dishes. Thank you

Tried crispy spicy wings and HSS baby pork ribs. Both are good except waffle fries which came with the ribs was a bit too salty for me. Staff are perfectly friendly and helpful. There was even live music during my visit on Sunday afternoon.

A nice Red, cocktail or craft beer, with a well presented and cooked meal. Is there a nicer way to catch up with family and friends in a jovial atmosphere. Staff are pretty neat too.

I called a week ahead only for the phone to ring out, i left a msg no reply and When arriving to the the restaurant they didnt have my booking to which it had been taken days before via FB messenger. The food has gone downhill from previous years. I ordered the sloppy Joe (porkbelly burger )and it came out with basically bolognaise sauce in a bun which didn't contain much taste or porkbelly. There was also sanchoy bao which was dry, a ham ciabatta which had a side of kettle chip with paprika sprinked ontop. We won't be back, we were all disappointed with most of the food.

Love this place! My husband, friend and i had our joint birthday there again last night for the 2nd year in a row and they did not disappoint with service & food. Finally Penrith has a decent bar with a decent spirit selection....and lets not forget the burgers! Hands down the best place for them.

Been stopping off here regularly for a burger fix for lunch, always knocked it out of the park, menu is massive and diverse! more drink options than you could poke a stick at! Myself and a reasonable group of family and friends celebrated my birthday with food and drinks and the staff were so friendly and welcoming. we were all made to feel at home. If you havent been in yet, do yourself a favour!

Went here last night for dinner and a few drinks . Had pre booked a table so it was great that I could book it. However, like a lot of the reviews on this page last Night was under staffed for the amount of people in the venue. There seemed to be 1 waitress doing all of the tables, 1 lady behind the counter. Then however many people doing the bar side of it. For the amount of people, there should have been more staff. Due to this, it took us a while to order our dinner and cocktails. The cocktail came out at the same time as our food. We then ordered a cocktail in a jug but there wasn't enough alcohol in the jug we were basically just drinking (weak) flavoured lemonade. I most likely won't be going back here again.

What a load of bullshit your gluten free option for a burger which is $2 2 pieces of lettuce Bacon was burnt Lemon lime bitters not what it was but in drinkable When I questioned the base of the gluten free pizza they did say it was dough not lettuce leaves

Waitresses were a bit green having a rough night and it’s more of a family clientele in the restaurant but it didn’t matter as that was the best damn chicken burger I have ever had in my life.

Today was our first time attending High Street Social. The staff were awesome from making the booking( at the 11th hour), to the service upon arrival all the way through to topping up pinball credits for my grandchildren at their own expense. We could not fault your menu, service or establishment. Keep it up guys. We’ve found our new family hotspot!

Cool place, great vibe. Something different for penrith. food is pretty sweet as well. Keep it up, would be a shame to lose this joint and a music venue

Too much craft beer. I’m not a fan at all. Really, really need some European beers at this place. It’s a nice big bar the atmosphere overall is fantastic but some variety is badly needed. Also our pizza came to the table different to what we ordered and when we asked for this to be fixed we were told they ran out of pizza’s One of the cheese pizzas we ordered had sour cream on it (this was on the menu) was unsure when ordering but imo just want to say it was yuck and actually looked like scrambled eggs on a pizza base. I would like to add that Jade was very helpful.

I used to be a huge fan, but as a vegetarian I feel disappointed by your latest menu. The veggie options have been halved and the food portions have been halved as well! (But not the prices). Not including chips, there are only six veggie options on the whole menu - two of these are salads. Not exactly a meal. And two are mushroom options - I’m allergic so I only have two salads or two pizzas. Your veggie nachos were the bomb! You had some awesome veggie starters before too! My Caesar salad only had one egg and barely anything else except sauce without any flavour. Please consider adding a few more veggie options. Your bean burger was also delicious. Please add some variety!

Last night my friends and I came here for dinner and drinks. We had one lady that was just horrible with the customer service, she seemed as though she didn’t want to be there and kept telling us that stuff that was on the menu was sold out even though tables around us was getting the stuff that was apparently sold out. we also had a guy serve us (dale) he was amazing with his customer service and was so helpful when there was a small problem with our drinks. He made the whole experience of the place a lot more delightful!. So other than that one hiccup it’s overall a great place.

Great vibe and burgers. Cocktails are awesome too, bar staff are friendly and fun.

They are usually busy on weekends so bookings recommended.

[invite] Bianca: Two trips to Penrith in the span of a week, who knew there was so much going on out west? High Street Social have recently introduced a weekend breakfast service. And with a new ex-Burger Head chef on board the burgs are also pretty impressive. High Street is a bit of a nightmare at the moment but with a vision for a pedestrian friendly thoroughfare, the future is promising. HSS happens to be on the purdy completed end so no unsightly bollards or hi-vis to be seen.

High Street Social serving delicious burgers, chicken and craft beer ( 100 options to choose from)

The popcorn chicken with the Szechuan option was absolutely amazing! The chicken was fried to perfection yet juicy tender and flavoursome on the inside! This goes down perfectly with any of the cold craft beers!

The Mac n cheese at high street social is 👌👌. The best thing about this is that it’s neat and tidy and you can carry it with you into the arcade games area.

Now to the beast burgers- there is a burger for everyone (all levels) choosing from single or double!
Burgers that we all ordered included the Noah’s Ark, The O.G Social & Peppa and Friends. All opted with the double option of course! We had the OG social with the double patty and added extra pulled pork for the extra protein.

From the pizza menu we had the SUPREME - pepperoni goodness with bacon, mushroom, delicious mozzarella cheese and pizza sauce on a perfect fresh thin crust pizza base.
I have mixed feelings about this spot.

The food is delicious and the servings are very generous and reasonably priced.

But, I came here last week on a Saturday night and everything seemed a little chaotic despite not being that busy. The table we sat at was dirty unfortunately and no one came to take our order although I saw them take orders from other diners around us. I had to finally go up and order at the bar... Also, I don’t really understand why food is not allowed in the open area at the back? And no one gave me an explanation when I asked.

I think I’m gonna give this place another try at some point in the future and see if the service improves.

Came to this place for a weekday lunch. Trendy ambience, big bar and spacious seating area.
They also have special deals for different days but on this visit I was intrigued to try their gigantic burger, Noah's Ark. Love it. Everything comes in two (yaass!). 2 x wagyu beef patties covered in cheese, 2 x fried chicken, 2 x bacon and veggies slathered in tomato and burger sauce.
The popcorn chicken fries are crispy and cheesy. Highly recommend.

Atmosphere is great, decor is pretty, staff are very friendly and food is good.
I tried the (potato) waffles with guacamole and salsa and it was so good! Very tasty, nice flavours and surprisingly the chips didn't go soggy.
Mac and cheese croquettes were a little bland but that was probably because I didn't have the sauce that came with it as it was spicy.

I get what they are trying to do here but it kinda just misses. The food was generous and the menu reads really well but the actual food lacks a little punch. We had the mac n cheese croquettes (I suspect factory made) and a couple of burgers which were ok but not great. The service was also a bit haphazard, they brought our bill before we finished eating, without asking first. Would we give it another go? Probably yes.

Have been here a few times now, before and after the renovations and full fit out was complete.

I enjoyed the old burger specific menu more than the updated one with the pizza.

The craft beer selection is solid, and the burgers are pretty near what I want in a burger!

Hopefully some of the old classics will come back permanently!

Overly generous serving of chicken in your burger which is almost a schnitzel meal on it's own. Add some waffle fries ans you have yourself a perfect post workout carb load 😍 Never had any issues, great service and AMAZING burgers. This is the southern fried chicken burger and cheese + bacon waffle fries.
