Review North Indian Flavour - Penrith

Tried this indian for lunch just wanted try somewhere new. Disappointed with the lamb korma runny & just tasteless, we ordered $2.50 bag of papadum's bit into it & it was stale like they cooked it 2 days ago & were still trying to get their monies worth.. Will not go back waste of $37 spent. Why have a food store if you don't want to go the extra mile to make sure food is fresh at least & tasty..its too much to ask nowadays apparently

Worst Food and service. Ordered chole bhatura two plates, Bhatura were so thick and uncooked. When showed the server guy said that this is how bhatura are made. And then gave us naan, all uncooked, so thick. Had to throw half of the food. Worst ever experience. If you open a shop and expect sales than treat your customers better. Rudness wont work.

[ORIGINAL REVIEW] Been eating here since 1999. Always been reliably good... [END OF ORIGINAL REVIEW] ...until my last meal there at about 3:30pm in the afternoon (three months ago) and half of the food was COLD due to their bay-marie heater light/warmer element being blown. I sat and ate the warm half of my meal (because I was starving) then when I returned and told them that the other half my meal was cold when I got it, they argued that it wasn't - and said it was because I walked away... (WHUT?) ...it was cold when I first tasted it after sitting down. I wish I had spat out the cold mouthful - not swallowed it... (more on this later) After I had a little peek under their bay-marie servery, I saw that one of the lights were out and the glass felt MUCH colder on one side of the servery than the other. When I pointed this temperature (and visible light) difference between the two separate serveries they have... I told them I didn't want a refund... I just wanted them to improve their food safety standards and NOT serve (potentially dangerous) cold food. They offered me a cash refund on the spot - even though I did not ask for it (hence the 3rd star in this edited review) but I refused their refund and went home after eating half a meal and a tiny bit of 'not-at-all-warm' food. Just as I was leaving, the owner told me he has ordered another heater-element-light thing and he was expecting it soon... Soooo.... they DID know they were serving food from a colder than appropriate food servery - and served it anyways?!? Yuck... I went home and experienced some horrendous effects of mild food poisoning later that afternoon and into the early hours of the next day - from ONE half mouthful of not hot enough food. I've now modified my rating from 5 to 3 and not going to eat here again, sorry guys. Your laxed view of food safety standards has led to this. If you guys are this relaxed about food serving... then how laxed are you about things I can't see 'behind the curtain.' You should not have continued using the servery after you knew it was faulty. This leads to 'faulty' food temperatures where bacteria can multiply to levels that are harmful.... like I have experienced. I'm not doing this to hurt your business, but as a way to improve. If anyone told me my work was inadequate I would do whatever it took to improve, not disagree with them.

Its ok for the price, I find the currys to be thin and watery no doubt done to keep to a budget. I always avoid the pale tasteless butter chicken, the Beef Vindaloo and Navratan Korma are tasty, naan bread is ok bit thick and doughy.

I’ve LITERALLY considered contacting this business and offer them money to show me how they make their Butter Chicken. I first tried their Butter Chicken about 20 years ago, when the shop was located where Rebel Sports is now located... and it’s become one of the greatest meals I can think of. I’ve tried other Butter Chickens, but nothing compares to what these guys make. I’ve also never dated a woman who hasn’t become obsessed themselves with this Butter Chicken. Their Butter Chicken has taken on Mythical of proportions. Food SO INCREDIBLE, I even logged into Google to give this review!

I have tried butter chicken in so many different places, in the city, in the hawkesbury, fast food ones and top restaurants but have never tasted better butter chicken than this place. Everywhere else is a disappointment.
