We love Ibu and Bapak's food-The most delicious bbq chicken you will ever taste, and made by lovely people. Reminds me of the best food I had when living in Indonesia-ennaaaaaak :)
Lovely people and delicious food. If you like it spicy, layer on the amazing sambal. Soto ayam definitely recommended as a winter warmer.
Great little family business and the food was great!
This is a nice little Indo restaurant with very friendly West Timor owners. There's a full menu but, given the name, I opted for ayam bakar and ayam goreng and they were incredible. You can see them expertly preparing them in the front. The grilled chicken had a tasty sauce while the fried had some welcome juicy inside the batter and came with a super spicy sambal. Among the best Indo chicken in Sydney.
Hi guys! Today I went to Ayam Bakar 7 Saudara in Penhurst. This restaurant is truly a hidden gem and very underrated among Indonesians. I ordered Nasi Goreng Pete, which is a fried rice with sator beans (bitter beans), and Ayam Bakar (grilled marinated chicken). Honestly, I was not expecting much at first, however when I taste it, it was extraordinary, it really reminds me of home. The seasoning of both the fried rice and the grilled chicken are a spot on! It was fantastic. Definitely will come back for sure.
The service is also top notch, they're really friendly~~

If you want to experience great home-style Indonesian cuisine l recommend coming here. The food is delicious and the service from the owner and his wife is amazing. We tried the gado gado, beef rendang, and chicken fried rice with a home made dessert. All was great. We're going back to try other items on their menu.

Drove past this place a few times and then read about it on broadsheet.com.au. Ayam Bakar 7 Saudara really is a hidden gem in Penshurst. We ordered grilled chicken, fried chicken, tempeh, tofu, gado2, stir fried rice noodles (Bihun goreng), fried rice and soto Surabaya. Everything taste great and beautifully cooked. The chili sauce (sambal) for the chicken was super spicy and tasty! Lovey owners warmly welcomed us and thanked us for visiting the restaurant. We also got complementary kolak (traditional dessert) which was a perfect way to finish the meal. Definitely recommended and will re-visit for their authentic Indonesian dishes.
Very good Indonesian restaurant in Sydney :-) will return for grilled chicken giblet, sour tamarind soup + fried rice 🤤 and sambal

We're suckers for novelty so an Indonesian joint in a fish'n'chip shop with a Star Wars Lego display is easily enough to lure us out to Penshurst. That and the fact that it's named after Mr Shawn's favourite Indo dish - ayam bakar, grilled chicken. Penshurst has a quite and pleasant little main street, it's a laidback alternative to nearby Hurstville which has become parking purgatory in recent years.
Owned by the daughter of the founder of restaurant with the same name in Jakarta. Their signature dish is Ayam Bakar which is really tender and juicy. Can't really fail this dish. Their tofu and Tempe iare also very nice. We also tried their Sop Buntut and Lontong Sayur. Both dish are authentic and tasty. Service is also very good add the owner is very friendly and attentive. Makes us feel like home.
