Tucked at an alley in the middle of CBD. Amazing food at a reasonable price. Casual and relaxing atmosphere. Friendly staff. Will definitely be back the next time I am in town.
Gluten free and very accommodating. I had the fish daily special. Very yummy but needed to be a bit bigger serve and more sauce. Sauce could of had a bit more zing. Fish cooked perfectly, patty very tasty.
10yr old didn’t like the look of anything on kids menu (boring and plain food) so had a pizza and took ½ home. She said it was awesome.
Staff amazing.
Arrived early evening in Perth after a cross country flight and was hungry. Durty Nelly's beckoned with the Sunday roast special. Alas, it was sold out so I ordered fish and chips. Glad I did. This was some of the best cooked and juicy melt in your mouth fish I've had in a long time. Add in great chips, a decent salad, and tartare sauce for a full meal. Well done Durty Nelly's.
Entertainment is always good, staff friendly and efficient👍food Is tasty and priced well. Would defo return particularly for the Sunday Roast😛
I was craving fish and chips for couple of days. My friend took me to this place and I ordered the obvious - fish of the day with salad, chips and a delicious tangy tartar sauce. The fish had the crumbliest batter and was absolutely melt-in-mouth. Thanks a lot for the wonderful service too!!!
Went for a Sunday lunch and also been a few times before with colleagues..food is tasty, portion is generous, price is fair, venue is spacious (kid friendly) and well decorated..really love the friendly and helpful staff as well..we had the traditional roast, fish of the day, fish & chips and fry up..their beerimisu in particular was excellent! Overall, a great Irish pub/restaurant and will definitely be back many times in the future..
Its a dirty old pub right but its part of Perth and I haven't really been let down by their food. Its "pubby", not perfect and its big decent size portions and most times exceed my expectations. The specials are great, Pizza night was worth it. 1/2 price ($11) and was just solid. Something I'll probably would consider it again.
Went here with a friend to grab a quick lunch. Their special for the day was of really great value. Large serving of t-bone steak, chips and salad for just 18 bucks. Its a good deal.
Always have a great feed here. Portions are big and hearty.
Atmosphere is great, and usually has some live music at the weekends. Good for some Irish fun.
Nice atmosphere with some good secluded booths which are great when you just want a quiet catch up with friends. The food was well priced and the drinks were good. Overall a good pub.
Best Irish Pub in Perth. Always has a good fun crowd there, good monthly promotions. Love sitting outside watching the crowds go up and down shafts lane. Food is good- normal pub grub. I've had the chicken pie which was nice, it's not always on the menu- it's a special. Bar staff are nice and friendly. No complaints
Love this place atmosphere is always great, never had a bad meal prices are good and have decent price pints for Perth worth a stop in if going to the city or to see a show at Perth arena
went there for dinner on a whim...crazy busy on a Thursday night but waited for a table to come available anyway. Was not disappointed. Had the beef and Guinness pie...for the first time in a long time I couldn't finish my meal!!! Also impressively one of the best mash I've ever had in Perth. Great first impression...I'll be back!
Had a work lunch here today and everyone was happy with their meals. The servings are HUGE and the menu has enough options to cover all tastes. Bar service only and food came out relatively quick. Recommendations pie of the day and stuffed chicken breast. Average meal was $25
I really don't get what other bars do to Guinness, it's ALWAYS better here at Durty's. That's also the place to be when you're hungry, portions are really big. Great to watch the footy, plenty of tv's in and out.
A great pub to visit for a drink and meal. Another visit before The Eagles concert on Wednesday and as always we had our meals served up in good time and the best pies in town. Always a must when in the CBD!!
Big day St Pats great food drink and fun a great night all was perfect
We went for a meal last night with friends, I was expecting just normal pub grub. I was pleasantly surprised, the food tasted great and was presented lovely. The duck gnocchi was delicious, the pie special generous and tasty and the fish special, barramundi looked great!
It's just a pity the don't do table service and have more of a divide between the bar and restaurant.
Bacon and Cabbage. I couldn't get enough of this dish! The bacon was amazing and the sauce completed the dish.
Good Pub Grub!. Durty Nelly's does not blow your mind with culinary innovation but it does really good, honest, tasty pub grub. The food generally comes out very quickly, the portion sizes are large and it is consistently good. I wouldn't say there is a great deal on the menu that is healthy but maybe that's because I don't usually go past the $18 steak on a Wednesday or the Calamari. Keep an eye out for the daily specials, they are excellent value. Staff are friendly and the service is pretty good.
Upbeat place to eat. Went there for a light dinner a few nights ago, had the tasting plate and a pizza. It was delicious, and a large quantity. The place has charm and the waitstaff were friendly. The only complaint I have is that it was only after we ordered that we were told of the specials on for the evening. Apart from that - great place, recommend it!
Solid Irish Pub in the heart of the city. Durty Nelly's is an Irish Pub in Shafto Lane. I dined there on Tuesday night with 5 mates. Signs out the front of the pub promised us 'the best head in town'. The inside of the pub provided polished wooden interior with ample seating. Multiple TVs inside and out satisfied our desire to watch sports while eating dinner.
5 of the 6 of us helped ourselves to the Tuesday night special: an $18 shepherd's pie with irish brown bread and salad. The pie was traditional, homely Irish pub fare. It was impossible to dislike, unless you have an irrational hatred of peas. However, the best part of the meal was the bread! It was delicious. It is probably not a meal you would have every Tuesday night, but a great meal to have once in a while. Our other diner had the parmigiana, which was not quite as well received. Reasonably priced drinks complemented our meals well.
Overall, it is easy to recommend Durty Nelly's for an occasional midweek dinner. Nice quiet bar (on a Tuesday night at least). Nice piece of wood in that counter. Nicely planed. Like the way it curves there.
As a postscript, I note there is ample parking nearby, unlike the Brass Monkey in Northbridge.
Bacon & Cabbage. I've enjoyed many a fine meal at this atmospheric pub in recent years but the Bacon and Cabbage, newly added to the menu, tops the lot. This dish by itself is responsible for converting me from an occasional visitor to a regular.
Haiku review. Always welcoming
Best of British Isles pubs
In Perth. Food is great.
Great everything. Food, atmosphere and service all very good, price reasonable so 10/10 well done.
Win-win!. This place is simple, cheap, with good ol' fashioned pub food. It's perfect for a simple meal in town with friends, lots of good atmosphere with a real Irish feel. I haven't yet ventured into the world of the Guinness pie, but the pizzas and steaks are very reasonable for what you pay. It's always busy whenever we've been there...this isn't five star dining, but for simple and tasty food in the heart of the city you can't go wrong!
Been here a number of times because it never disappoints. Food is always nice..
What a hidden gem! Myself and my wife popped in this morning for a nose and what a pleasant surprise a real Irish feel with all their furniture imported and great friendly service that suited the theme of Irish with a northern irish lass taking care of us! Had a lovely coffee and a pint of Guinness both made to perfection and 2 lamb roasts! Will definitely be back! Best Guinness in Perth!
All round great pub. Great friendly service, delicious food considerably large portions well worth the money. I popped in on a Thursday for their curry and beer special $25, comfortable setting with a great Irish atmosphere. Will definitely be back to Durty Nellys.
Went in Monday for dinner, the service was good and the staff friendly, the menu wasn't super exciting but honest for an Irish themed venue, the had $10 pizzas going, I had the Margarita, I would visit again
Great food. Ventured into Shafto Lane on a whim, and discovered this place. Sweet little bar tucked away off the side of the lane with all tables outside full on a weeknight. Had the chicken parmagiana with chips ($24) which was delicious and served fast. Friends had the steak/bruscetta which also looked pretty good. Cheaper than most places in Perth, Durty Nelly's caters to the after-work dinner/drinks crowd, and has a friendly atmosphere. Waitresses were lovely, tables were clean and the service was great. Will defo be returning!
Hidden Irish Gem. A friend recommended I pop into Durty Nelly's before a concert in the arena last weekend and what a very pleasant surprise. Tucked away on Shafto Lane, we were delighted by the friendly and very speedy service (we were in a bit of a rush), delicious food and the fun, relaxing atmosphere. The food portions are some of the biggest in town and everyone in our group left happily satisfied. We enjoyed it so much we returned after the gig to enjoy their live musician. Great evening and highly recommend this pub to others.
Great pub grub, fast and friendly service.. A real pub. Popped into durty nellys last weekend for dinner with friends, great service and excellent pub grub... I had the reef & beef which was great.. This real pub is always a winner in my book
Solid. Greasy, salty, heavy pub food. You could do far worse for food in and around Shafto. Yes, it's grim, dark and dank inside, but it's a great place to smash pints and eat good grub.
Good, unpretentious pub grub. Used to frequent Durty's a fair bit when working in the City and always found it to be a great little watering hole ($7.50 pints on their beer of the month) whilst only eating there once before. From the outside, you wouldn't expect too much from the pub in terms of food but you would be pleasantly suprised.
On my most recent trip this week, I decided to order the bangers and mash which consisted of three large and tasty sausages on a bed of colcannon mash with onions and red wine jus. Portion size was great, it was nicely presented but, more importantly, the meal was very good and service as friendly as always.
Previously I ate the Beef and Guinness pie which again was nice and very fulfilling.
If you're in town and fancy some good ole pub grub, then you could do a lot worse than Durty's.
One of my favorite places to eat in the city, the menu is very varied and has something for everyone. I've tried something different every time and havent been disappointed yet. Service great too! Would defo recommend.
Bloody tasty!! It was! Medium rare and nice n full of flavor, very good for it's price and quick service too. Atmosphere is great, location hidden in shafto lane which is like an alley. Recommend to order twice cause it is sooooo goooood >< 1+
Beer and Munchies. I've started the night here with friends a few times now on a friday after work and they have happy hour if you get in before 6 which is a good motivater. Safe bet on food is to get the dip/anitpasto and the chicken pizza ---really really good. Move on next door to the squire once you've lined the stomach and had some cheap thrill drinks...and bobs your uncle!
Best service in the CBD. Staff are very helpful and the food is great. One of my favorite places to be. There slogan is "best head in town" and there beers are always perfectly poured the way they should be. Nothing worse than no head on your pint.
Atmosphere, paraphernalia, backpackers. What more so you want in an Irish pub! The meals are of an excellent standard for a pub and reasonably priced too. As one other said, the bar staff a mightily friendly and will remember what you are drinking. It's nice to get good service for once. The Perth Irish pub of choice!
Great Steak Sandwich. Steak sandwich was very good - a bit hard to eat as things fall out of the sandwich when you take a bite, but very tasty. Also the outside dining area on the balcony, which plasma screens to watch the cricket live was magnificent!
Unpretentious. Decent, honest pub-food served by decent, honest staff. The range isn't incredible, the food isn't incredible and the whole "top-of-the-morning-to-you" schtick is a tad lame, but don't hold it against Nelly's. It's a nice comfy pub to relax in, without having to worry about being looked down on by the top end of town, or beaten up on by the bottom end. Happy hour is good, Irish strew and steak nights are decent food at awesome value. Beers of the month and other little promo deals help make it a good cheap place to kill some time.
Barstaff are really friendly Irishmen (and women, Irishpersons?), kind of people who remember your face and what drink you usually pour into it and are ready with it before you've even got your wallet out to pay for it.
Steak Night, A Tradition. Durty Nelly's is possibly my favourite pub in Perth CBD.
No doubt whoever I've taken to this place has fallen for it. The range of brews here are pretty good and the prices are decent for a city pub.
Their happy hour (5-6pm weekdays) is a favourite - the place being flocked with patrons after work and their steak nights (Wednesdays and Saturdays) is a must for steak lovers. For $16 you can grab a 350g T-bone steak and chips and $1.50 extra for sauce and the steak though not mind blowing is fantastic for what you're paying.
If you're looking for a drink or two or perhaps several, Durty Nelly's is a good atmosphere whether its in the afternoon or on weekend nights.
Good spot for pint in the city, decor has been slightly upgraded I think Shafto Lane is a popular little area with quite a lot going on and new places springing up all the time. Steaks are supposedly good value in the week.
An old favourite. I have been visiting Nellies for around 10 years. It is a great city pub if you want a more relaxed atmosphere. The balcony is simply the best place to finish off a summer Friday.
The Irish pub decor is a bit clichéd and dated, but the food is good, the prices are very reasonable and the atmosphere is excellent.
If good home cooked food is what you are after.. Durty Nelly’s Irish Bar in the city is definitely a stop to consider. Located between Hay St and Murray St, it is easy to get to and always seems to be busy. Yes, it’s an Irish bar so of course it’s always busy but they can boast about always being on the list for the ‘Top 10 Pints of Guinness’ around Australia.
Enjoyed a delicious lunch of BBQ chilli beef short ribs which was yum, but the wedges with sour cream was below par. Recommend.
We wondered to Shafto lane and opted to eat at Durty Nelly's Irish Pub - a little reminder of our quick whirlwind tour of the Republic of Ireland..
Loved the ambience. Service crew was delightful too. Good ‘ol Irish pub with a lovely menu. A pint or two of Guinness on tap makes your trip to the city worth it. The sirloin steak was gorgeous, the onion rings came in a generous amount and so were their chips. The fry up was amazing. And, the grilled prawns were yummy. A sure place for lunch when you are in the city. Cosy.
I had the best night in years at this fine establishment. Great location, great food, great booze, great entertainment, great women, and to cap it off I met up with an old mate that we hadn't seen each other in a very long time.
Just one gripe, lower the prices of your booze, it's a bit steep.
Thank you for the wonderful memories. I will be back.
Need a low key joint to chill with a stout, good music you thought you had forgotten and a brilliant meal for your dime? Durty Nelly's is on top of my list of places to hit on a Tuesday afternoon. Love the vibe. Service is really on point. Staff are super chill and friendly. Highly recommend this one folks.
Well we saw this place 6 months ago....always wanted to have lunch here. So glad we did. She had the squid for 16$. Excellent and good size.
I had the bangers and mash. Again good size with real onion gravy and sausages were great with a slight pepper taste . A very nice venue as well, especially sitting on the verandah., At nightime it would be nice as well with lights all along the roof. Highly recommended!! Great pub.
The best roast in whole Perth!! It's better on Sunday's as you can choose your meat, but even on Mondays it's really nice and even more affordable as it's only 20$ plus a Pint that is included.
Thanks for all the nice meals we had here
Overall experience of the place was very nice. Went in with a family of four chips were good but the dessert was excelent ice cream and crumble with cream. Ordered 2 Pints of guiness were exceptional clean and creamy. The service and employees were extremtly nice. Food was quite rich proper pub food and liked how the pub cares more about being a pub and not a restraunt. Suprised with the service and the pub itself being a sort of hidden bar.
5/5 guys keep it up definetly coming back with mates in the future.
