Review Grosvenor Hotel - Perth

Mick Finn
Good atmosphere, cold beer and nice food what more do you want
Dave Lawrence
Great pub with great service. A couple of work mates and I stopped in here on our last night in Perth for a few ales and a feed, couldn’t be happier. A very good selection of tap beer was on offer and we ended up getting 3 different pizzas to share. Pizzas were fantastic, presented perfectly on timber boards and absolutely delicious. Comfortable atmosphere and seating, watched the Friday night AFL match in style. Definitely would go back next time I visit Perth.

Popped in for a beer today. Dog friendly (always a good sign for a pub). Pleasant staff; nice meal and great selection of beers. Reasonable prices too. Thanks heaps...

Pretty nice spot amongst the CBD. Plenty of room and dining options with outside, inside bar and inside dining room. Many beers on tap with a wide variety of food offerings. I would happily go back for another feed again

One of my favourite pubs in Perth! Consistently tasty meals, great range of beverages, friendly staff, heaps of seating indoor & out. Highly recommend for lunch or dinner.

Monday night in Perth CBD. Grosvenor was open and welcoming. Little Creatures hazy on tap and a chicken wrap for dinner. Sat in the sports bar and watched some tennis. Food was quick and filling.

Great spot. Cold beer, friendly service. Who could ask for more. Food was priced well and tasty.

Great food and excellent service

Our first pub we went to when we came to perth now our first stop every time we come to the city. Great pizza and awesome hot sweet potato chips. Friendly and very professional staff. I highly recommend it.

Love The Grosvenor Hotel, great atmosphere, beautiful old style building, friendly staff, good food. Walking distance to the centre of Perth and the river. Great little Irish band in the courtyard during the warmer weather. Good place for functions too.
CJ James
Excellent service and always a great meal, bar staff and management are more than happy to strive that extra mile to accomodate the requirements of the customers, a very busy city pub with the vibe and attitude of a local family friendly pub
Jason Lindop
Great atmosphere, good selection of beers and wines and quality food, steak sandwich is awesome, friendly helpful staff.🍷🍻
KerrieandNathan Alison
Great service and friendly staff- I am coeliac and the gluten free menu had great options available.
Dennis Martin
Had my first beer here in 1973! Pub has changed a lot over the years but the service and food have improved with the years! Great inner city pub!
Daniel Stanley Laybutt
Great pub - like an oasis in the city with good wine selection and great pub food - the staff are sensational ! Was my local for the 4 years I lived in Perth.
Natalie French
Such a yummy tea last night great place definately recommend
Cath Widdup
What a great place. Good selection of drinks. Food was amazing had to go bak 2 nights in a room and great friendly service. Can't wait to go bak when in Perth next

Spent a Sunday afternoon/evening with the band gang of 3 Great band and great pizza ,I really recommend the sweet potatoe fries yum

My first visit to Perth strolled in the food and service was great highly recommend it to anyone
Craig Hagan
Good food and a fairly good selection of beer. $12.50 pints is a bit over the top though.

I went to a Fundraiser last Friday for Juvenile Diabetes Research. It was a fabulous night. The food was sensational, wine exceptional and staff great. I hadn't been to the hotel for years, now I can't wait to go back!
Kevin David Brand
treat a long term customer like they mean nothing! 18mths 4 to 5 nights a week says it all. Would say less than 1 star but dont have that option
Kym Thomas
Great pub feel. Lots people. Good menu, good food, staff all very friendly.
Doc
Went here for tea and drinks after a big day out and was disappointed with the price of the beer compared to other places I’ve been here in Perth already $12.50 a bit rich for a pint of lashes #drunklife but had the antipasto platter and that was really nice to pick at !!!

We went here on 12th August with some of our car club members. We were in Perth for the Targa West and had heard good things about The Grosvenor Hotel. I ordered the snapper and chips 'The Classic' which was James Squire Ale battered snapper with chips, lemon, homemade tartare sauce and salad $26.00. My husband ordered the steak sandwich which was The Grosvenor classic, MSA scotch fillet cooked M/R with lettuce, tomato, red onion, cheese, kasaundi and aioli in toasted Turkish bread served with fries $24.00. The steak sandwich came out first and was big, it had two pieces of sandwich sized steak cooked beautifully, my husband really enjoyed every bite. My fish and chips came out and I was impressed 😊 it had two huge pieces of fish and a good serve of chips and salad. The homemade tartare sauce was really nice, it wasn't too creamy and sickly like many are, it had a nice caper kick. It was a fantastic lunch, we both thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff were all friendly and it's a well set out dining and pub area. The drink prices are a bit up there $12.50 for a pint of beer but I guess that's average in Perth (we very rarely go into Perth).

I go to this place quite often. It’s a nice casual place with good selection of wines and beers. Food is also quite good. Plenty of options for vegetarians. Service is quite good. Only once I had a bad experience when they messed up my padt thai and didn’t want to admit it was their mistake. Their pizzas are quite good as well.

Dropped in for a meal with a few mates after work. This place has changed a lot. Remodelling is great really lightened the place up. Food was tasty and wine by the bottle very reasonable. It is not silver service so temper expectations and enjoy the meal.

I left with a bit of a mixed feeling. Our entrees were amazing. We really enjoyed the Hungry Buoys and Mate Plate but the mains were disappointing.
Chuck Kail
Terrible...pasta from a can?? Meatballs with next to no flavour and bit into a gristle part....shocking. I guess this was on special for a reason.<br/><br/>Management was nice enough to refund without issue
Nitehork
I had the Fish and Chips. Chips fairly decent, fish decent, but not what I’d call great. Ice Coffee quite disappointing, very weak with barely any colour to it.<br/><br/>Other half had the Prawn Wrap. It was, according to her, ok. Except for the bit of grit in the salad. Lemon Lime and Bitters was alright (meaning good).
Bebe
Had a peri peri Chicken pizza, it was a huge disappointment as the pizza base was hard (still pale), all ingredients on the pizza were still raw (vegetables) but chicken pieces were nice and juicy (precooked I guess). Not impressed and not going back for the pizza for sure but will have a nice cold beer instead. The venue is nice and clean.

I like this hotel for its beers and wine but I also like the restaurant they have. They serve really good sized Australian food at reasonable prices. The staff are very good and the atmosphere is also good.

This place is nestled right in at the corner of an intersection in East Perth, near Perth Mint to be precise. Had one of the best steaks ever! Yum! A main course and a glass of house wine would come to $40 something. Must visit if you wanna enjoy a lovely meal but at the same time don't want lovely ambiance! <br/><br/>P.S: they don't have too many options for main course. <br/><br/>

Delicious pub grub in the Perth CBD . Nice ambience and a laid back atmosphere . Had the steak and the grilled lamb rump. Both well made 😊 service was impeccable . Easy off street parking . Give this place a go 👍
Vee Kee
The food is of good standard, friendly staff and good atmosphere for a few beers. I didn't like the pad thai but I think it's more of my own fault for ordering pad Thai at a pub. I have been here many times and will always come back again.
Travess.st
Good variety of beer. Had what was called a bratwurst but was under whelmed with sausages without much spice. Potato chips were advertised as bad boy but just thick cut , could have left the skin on. Good sauces though.<br/>
Ines
Quite nice spot. Not so much going there but good enough to go and unwind after work, not so sure what the food looks like or tastes like, the outdoor area is quite welcoming !
LittleGirlBigFood
Full of lawyers this place is. It used to be cool.... I dunno I'm just not a huge fan.
El
Delicious and big pizzas that are served super quick from the wood fired oven, friendly staff and cheap drinks ($6 for a bottle of cider - you don't come across that often). It's a huge venue so lots of options for seating but the front area allows smoking so it's not the most pleasant. Out the back, inside near the oven is spacious and looks cool. Would be great for a big group.

Don't normally enjoy eating pub food- just not my thing, was dragged here for a friends 21st and was pleasantly supposed at the quality, I had the pork belly with scallops which was beautiful but made me a bit sick towards the end (not the first time it's happened so not the quality, more just the fattyness of pork) the girlfriend had the chicken gamberi which was really tasty and cooked well too
MF
I recently attended a function here.<br/>It is a very nice venue.<br/>Comfortable and service was good - didn't have to wait long for a drink<br/>Platters were varied and delicious.<br/><br/>I have also eaten here and enjoyed the food but not the smokers sitting close to the eating area outside.
Izzy Alyce
After reading bad reviews on this place and having a friends birthday dinner here my partner and I weren't looking forward to it. Though it wasn't even bad, the food was actually good especially compared to some of the other pubs we've eaten at. The only thing was the food came out very inconsistent to who had ordered first and took a long time and it was pretty overpriced just like a lot of pubs are.
ZZQ
Been here twice and both have been fairly positive experiences.<br/><br/>First time I had the Fillet Mignon Burger. The steak was very tender and the burger was well made. For $26 this was very good value, considering that the Fillet Mignon Steak was $38 (though I'm sure it would have been bigger). <br/><br/>Second time I was not that hungry so I had a lamb wrap. For $24 again it wasn't bad value, the wrap was made with a warn and thick pita bread and salad and lamb stuffing were generous and tasted fresh.<br/><br/>One complaint.. there are way too many items on the menu, really gave me a hard time deciding each time.
GypsyRover63
Very disappointed, after being a regular something has changed in the last 6 months . This time I had the Steak and Ale, the meat was very dry and tough, the gravy heavily salted and the serving size mediocre. My partner had the lamb cutlets with a garden salad and the salad was great, unfortunately the lamb was so over seasoned you could not taste the lamb and the seasoning was powdery in the mouth. I gave feedback at the restaurant and they really didn't give a damn.
Cacallander
Disappointed. Went there for dinner waited a long time for an overpriced over cooked barramundi with lukewarm mash. A local in the area who won't be back. <br/>Have been there many times before.
Catherine.turner90
In my opinion this pub is overpriced for the quality of the food. The Phad Thai is much too salty and has too much onion and not enough noodles.<br/>I've also had a pizza here and that was fairly bland too. <br/>Not a fan which is a shame because it's close to our office.
Coffeeholic
Great food. I went there for a weekday lunch and I was impressed with the quality of the food. There were lots of good vegetarian options which was a refreshing change from most places. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal and the service was good too.
Food 2 Run
Few drinks with mates from the East and was average better to be had...
Gareth
The service here is mediocre. Most staff act as if they are doing you a favour. Totally not in keeping with the prices they charge - high prices should mean great service. Not here, unfortunately. I paid $34 for a steak sandwich (which was very nice) and beer. On asking for a second beer I was told that I had to pay cash as Eftpos was a $10 minimum. I could not see that stated anywhere. I mentioned I had already purchased $34 worth but the abrupt guy behind the counter couldn't have cared less. I take consolation in knowing it wasn't me - he was rude to the previous customer too. Twice was enough - won't be back.
Tony
Overpriced. Went in for a A quiet drinks with my partner, could not believe the standard of service, stood waiting to be served for 15 minutes, then serve two drinks to us as if it was slops, charge us $12 each for a pint of super dry, which is just a run-of-the-mill lager, overpriced and overrated avoid at all cost
Mlfabling
Bland and smokers everywhere. The staff were friendly but that was the only good thing. We had to wait for ages for our bland and very overpriced food and had to sit amongst the smokers whilst doing so. Definitely not going back.
Pandora
Disorganized staff plus unimaginitive food.. I have been going to the Grosvenor on and off for years and found it hit and miss, but after my recent venture there for a function, I will not be back. <br/>It was a shambles. The staff were disorganised and disinterested.<br/>The function manager was completely confused, there were no plates, no napkins, no cutlery. <br/>Food came out in the most stupid order. I had to ask for napkins at least three times. <br/>It was mostly deep fried, boooooring food with a few greasy pizzas.
Pamelakong
Our favorite !. We love this place! Have never been disappointed by any dish. People say a little expensive, but that is the price at most other pubs as well. Can't fault , love love love!!
Kristen110
Good place for a pub meal. This has plenty of space for indoor and outdoor tables. The pub meals are generous in size and i really enjoyed the chicken parmy. I do think $26.00 is an expensive pub meal but it was pretty tasty. The staff are friendly and they are pretty efficient with the service.

Okay. We ate here today. Definitely not family friendly and food was okay. Would probably eat there again if I was passing by, but wouldn't go out of my way. Having said that, they do a great Caesar salad.
Kaisers
Disappointed. Very slow service, we had fillet mignon which was pretty tasteless and overpriced. The jus overpowered the whole dish and the veggies were cold.
Novice Foodie
Great outdoor dining. We love this place. Great for a pint and a pizza. Took the mother in law here for mothers day and it was fantastic, from the salmon to the steak sandwiches. Been here three times, enjoyed it every time and never failed to get a seat outside even on a beautiful sunny day but SSSHHHHHH, don't tell anyone!
Eatingoutperth
Very Pleased. Came in for an EOFY lunch on the 27th June, had a booking for 12 people. The bar staff were very helpful and friendly, the timing on drinks and food was flawless and the meals were all delicious and a generous size serving. Can't complain at all!
Ang
Nice beer garden. Was taken here by the locals after a days work - chicken Caesar salad was nice - overall a nice pub to have a drink & catch up with friends- close to where we are staying ! Nice to sit outside
KC
Very Disappointing - Over priced, poorly cooked, below average pub food.
Ekaterina Roberts
The best Gluten Free Pad Tai in Perth! Very clean restaurant , friendly and helpful staff ! Loved it! Thank you
Debbie
Where's our table!!!!. For the third year in a row, we decided to head to the Grosvenor for the afternoon before heading down the hill to the skyshow. As there was a group of 15 of us, my friend took advantage of the option to reserve a table online so we could all be together as obviously a busy place on such a day. Confirmation was sent and area of sitting was confirmed in the main bar area. We all arrived at agreed time to find no table!!!! When questioned it appeared we had been put in the main restaurant section. Very disapointing as we had not booked for a meal. Sadly we were spread between two tables for the majority of our time there. Luckily the prompt service of the bar staff redeemed the situation though prices a little steep. Bit sad all round really especially with a 10 o clock closing. Not their fault but just seems that sleepy town strikes again

The Grosvenor, or the "Big G" as I affectionately refer to it, has to be the best location in town for a feed. The steak sandwich in particular is delightful, very generous both in portion size and juicy thick steak (which isn't sloppy). Staff are great and never mixup orders.
Coffeeaddict
Good range of pub food. Pizzas are top notch! Finally found a place in Perth that does decent woodfired pizzas!! Drinks and mains are fairly expensive but not out if the ordinary for Perth
Irene Pettigrew
The Grosvenor is my local. Pizza to share (quite large) is recommended washed down with a pint/glass of vino after a hard day at the office. This place is always busy and has a good atmosphere. Perth is expensive especially for pub grub so I guess the previous reviews with criticism on the pricing are from those who are tourists/unfamiliar with city pub prices. Everywhere is generally the same pricing.
Edward Pencil
Overpriced food and drinks, a radio playing as entertainment and sour-faced TOWIE style wannabie staff, pretty poor.
Mr. Foodbawse
Overpriced beer pints though $30 for a main was cheap for Perth and the food was better than average pub food.
The Gaz N Laz
6 meals, all perfect. Love the place
Scott Mills
Nice place but. Please remove Pad Thai from the menu. Not even close to a rendition and embarrassing for Thais.
Goodfoodnow
Worst meal. Friends & i ate here on Saturday night. I had the beef cheeks. Well at least what the menu said it was. 2 very small portions of sub standard meat with lots of gristle. Served with scalloped potatoes that tasted like chef had dropped the contents of the pepper mill into. Terrible
Kutiel
Terrible attitude from waitress in red shirt. 4 of us had lunch at this venue and when the cutlery was delivered with the food we informed the waitress that the fork was still dirty and we received the a disgusting foul look from her. Then when we had only received 3 out of 4 of the meals ordered we waited an extra 15 minutes for the last meal to come out and when it did by the same waitress she gave us yet another of the same foul look and no apology. Serious attitude from that girl in the red shirt needs to be amended.. pronto! Will not be back again.
Phil
WARNING!!!. Never go to this bar to watch sport!!! <br/><br/>We were in the Grosvenor with a large crowd last night to watch Australia's most important football game in 4 years and despite many requests they would not turn the sound on for the match! Pathetic!!!!
Will
Too expensive.. Clean lines, nice decor and staff are great but it's really too expensive for what you get. Pubs need to step up quality and value as now you can get better pub type food for cheaper at the new style of upper class burger, mexican and pizza takeaways. $6 for a schooner of Light beer? Really? I can't say I'll go again but they won't miss me as it's a stop off for white collar boozers.
John Dobson
Nice!. Beer and pizza - both great. Fast and friendly service and a mix of places to sit (outside smoking and non smoking, dining room and sit down sports bar.<br/><br/>Food is expensive but generous servings and a good range of beer, cider and wine.<br/><br/>Nice spot for a pint.
Gastromegalus Maximus
"G" lightful. The atmosphere is okay on the inside if you can ignore the hustle and bustle of a trendy inner city pub.But that is on the inside ! Outside there are the flame trees with a view of a famous Perth monument ; the Perth Mint itself. Its brash "G" logo is ubiquecous about the establishment a promotional gimmick to make it hip has paid off. Good friendly staff and friendly locals as they refer to themselves and obviously frequent the place often. The steak meal is "superb" and without a doubt one of the finest steaks I have ever tasted as far as "pub grub" goes but I would like to see to see more steak and less chips with the meal and as for the "salad in a cup"? What is that? You either have salad or nothing....and that some think is purely for decoration which seems to apply when you have the pizza. I enjoy my vegatative colour on my plate as I am a true "omnivore" but I do not want that small a portion...BUT THAT IS JUST ME! Chicken Parmegan also delicious. But the so called jewel of the Grosvenor crown the charmingly named; "Grovington" is to my eyes, taste buds and appetite quite disappointing. It is about as ordinary as the Fish and Chips they make and thankfully they use Baramundi with beer batter rather than that disgusting cheap and nasty Basa fish. Their wood fire pizza's are quite tasty but at the prices they charge they have to be! There are great meals to be had at the Grosvenor (the "G") but be aware that chip portions are bigger than the meat portions if the meal does come with chips. In fact when it comes to chips by themselves they skimp on the sauces. If you want a dessert afterwoods then I am afraid this place does not really cater for dessert or initially they didn't. They have a dessert menu but its nothing special and would rather not do them. But the meal portions are arge and should be able to fill you. But I wish they would not use chips and potatoes to fill up the plate so much and maybe a few more vegetables. but at the price you pay they have to fill you up. So to conclude tasty upmarket pub grub but should not have the excessive upmarket prices and should not skimp on the jewel piece of the meal but apart from that VERY GOOD MEALS!

Just went here for a quick bite and cant complain if good filling meal and a nice pints all u want well cooked mr steak big pizza n two james squires ciders now we cant move
Lee
Bad. Well, this was a huge disappointment.<br/><br/>I ordered the Cesar Salad. It was described as Cos Lettuce, with homemade dressing, with pancetta, anchovy and poached egg.<br/><br/>What arrived was a bed of lettuce, a poached egg that was hard, one strip of pancetta and two anchovies that had nowhere near enough dressing on it. The croutons were tasteless<br/><br/>I'm always suspect when a meal turns up too quickly, therefore it was obvious that the salad was pre prepared. Not good enough for $19.50. How about some walnuts or pine nuts as an addition to this salad, and a hard poached egg ? Really ?
Amandahugnkiss
My meal was just average. My partner ordered the veal schnitzel and it was horrible. Still would go back though
Megan
Terrible Service OK Food. Came here with my family for a casual Tuesday night dinner and regretted it from the moment we ordered. It took an hour for our food to come out and after all that time they didn't even manage to get all four dishes out at once.<br/><br/>The staff are lazy and most of them were standing around doing nothing the whole time we were there. Food was ok but not worth the $30 price tag.
Tom Coppendale
Having read some of the reviews for the Grosvenor, there seems to be a consistent message - 'overpriced' and 'expensive'. Yes, you can eat in cheaper establishments but the food is good, hearty Australian pub food and the beer is generally well kept. The staff vary from one end of the scale (attentive) to the other (miserable) but hey, if you are not used to inconsistent service in this city you probably still live at home enjoying Mum's cooking three times a day! The Grosvenor manages that difficult feat of combining a friendly pub atmosphere with a good mix of sport on multiple screens. Add this to the well maintained outside area and you truly have a pub for the Everyman. A TAB would complete the set but I understand the owners caution around implementing this as it could quite well upset the balanced atmosphere. Back to the general consensus that the food is pricey, get over it I say, it's in black and white on the menu and not as if its a surprise when you go to settle your tab.
Michael Ooyendyk
Had the open wellington - Steak, pate mushrooms and pastry for dinner other 2 meals were good, would go again - Prices are a little high but thats Perth.<br/>Going for lunch today, see if they are consistant.
Billpapadimitriou
Burger was overpriced and disgusting , possibly the worst I have ever eaten . To be fair I think i chose the worst thing on the menu , I am sure they have better meals on the menu .
Anne
Ok if nothing else open. Typical pub food. Ok but nothing special. Decent when you are starving and nothing else is open on a Sunday night in the CBD.
Explorer
Eat elsewhere. Went here on Wednesday for lunch with a friend and ordered a steak sandwich and pizza. Both arrived very quickly,(too quickly).<br/>Both the pizza and the steak sandwich arrived lukewarm, there was far too much bacon on the pizza, which was barely cooked and dominated by too much sauce. The steak was definitely not scotch fillet as on the menu, and lacked flavour and care. Very overpriced for such poor quality. The bar service was good.
Shaylee Hohapata
Seeing as this my local pub at work I definitely cant complain! The food is good and service is great! The nicest pub around in the area!
Lowie
Great food !!. My husband and i went there last week and we had a great experience there. I had the King Kashu-Ku Prawns and my husband had the Black pig ham Tortellini. We were served as soon as we walked in, another waitress cleared a table for us so we could sit in the area we wanted to. I couldn't believe the variety of meals you provide, it was so very impressive !!! We only had to wait less than 10 minutes for our meals to come out and given that the place was rather busy, we were pleasantly surprised. The meals themselves were A M A Z I N G !!!! We "really" wanted to go back there some time during our stay for another meal but unfortunately ran out of time. We also told friends who live in Perth about the place so hopefully word of mouth will get a few more people in there. Thanks so much
One Delish Dish
Hits the spot - Warm cheerful service, fresh and tasty menu range, great beer options.
Standish.sarah
Ok food but too pricey. Food is just ok so its hard to justify the cost, it's pretty pricey. Drinks are too expensive as well. There are better options in Perth with better service, ambiance and setting. I wouldn't go back.
Allybee
Parmigiana!. Amazing and generous chicken parmigiana, but very pricey...
Peter
I visit as regularly as i can as its the only place in town where i actually get a steak how i like it cooked. i am over the inconsistencies of restaurants nowadays that cant even cook a steak. its always how i want it. i eat the grovington quite regularly it is high end price for a pub but its quality is as a fine dining restaurant would be and im sure just cause im sitting in a pub i dont think it should be cheaper as long as its quality fillet steak i dont care. service very friendly and just a great atmosphere all round. i bring alot of friends here and have never had a bad experience. well worth the drive .

Don't Bother. Had lunch at the Grosvenor today with work colleagues.<br/>It was so bad that I had to make an urbanspoon account to warn others.<br/><br/>A rare lunch on the company dollar was ruined by poor wait staff and food I wouldn't feed my dog.<br/><br/>One of our party received 2 attempts at a steak that resembled nothing of the medium-rare steak that had been ordered. No refund, was told by the manager he was wrong and that a dry, grey steak is actually medium-rare.<br/><br/>I had the lamb burger, there was lamb and a burger, but it wasn't much like food.<br/><br/>What a joke. Avoid at all costs. Expensive, no vibe, no idea.
John Anderson
Poor Service, Worse Food. Very poor service, rude, empty plates left on tables well into the night (all over the bar), under staffed and under trained.<br/><br/>We had a range of dishes, all were below the quality I would expect from my children's primary school canteen:<br/>- over cooked steak<br/>- sloppy under-cooked pizza base<br/>- bland and dry lamb burgers<br/><br/>Also it's one of those pubs that charges $11+ for a pint of beer. Also, as their staff are not trained at all from what I can see, expect anything ranging from no head on your beer to 1/3 of your beer being froth.
Rory
Can't cook a medium-rare steak. I just returned from a lunch at the Grosvenor Hotel. I ordered the steak, medium-rare. The first attempt came out swimming in sauce and was over-well-done (dryer than the nun's proverbial). After a 25 minute wait during which the rest of the table finished their meals entirely, attempt number two arrived. This was medium to well done at best. I ate about 1/16 of the steak and asked the waitress to tell the chef (for want of a worse word) that his inability to cook a medium-rare steak was truly remarkable.<br/><br/>Following this the proprietor of the establishment came to the table, not to apologise for the poor service or the bad food, but to tell me the second steak was, in his opinion, without doubt cooked medium-rare. He then preceded to tell me that I was lying to him and that in fact it was not grey all the way through as I saw with my ownt wo eyes at all, but was in fact pink. The rest of our table and I were quite astounded. <br/><br/>In summary, two words: don't bother with the Grosvenor.
Claire
Love the Grosvenor, all you could wish for in a local boozer and more. Restaurant food is outstanding especially the steaks, pork loin and lamb cutlets. Can't fault the service, choice and quality of the food and wine.
Dave
Quite pricey but the lamb burger was very tasty. Seafood platter seemed to go down well with others also. This is the only decent place we've found to eat in east Perth!
Azza116
A bit pricey, but the grosvinton (beef Wellington) was amazing and service was great.
James
Never order the SHAWARMI KANGAROO.. All you get is two small potatoes and some slithers of meat for $32. Come on Grosvenor, lift your game up. Pathetic!
Jett Girl
Minty fresh. Sunday night dinner at the Grosvenor was very laid back. I enjoyed the atmos and service. The food was great and a reasonable price for the size of the portions. The crowd was mainly older gents but me and my 20 sothing friends didn't feel out of place except for not knowing a lot of the songs playing over the radio. Very relaxing, the kind of place I would take my parents for dinner.
LadyEvar
I'd go every day for the steak. The food is a little bit pricey but honestly worth it for a nice afternoon. It's a great pub with a nice atmosphere. Service is fast and efficient.<br/><br/>The pizza is expensive for the portions but really tasty and good to share with friends. <br/><br/>The real highlight is their steak. I haven't had steak this good since I visited Rustlers in Albany.
Liz
What happened to the good ol' grosvenor. The prices went up, the food tries to be better than it is for a price that is far too high for what is essentially the worst<br/>Pub food in perth. The beer selection is limited and again over priced. The managers and staff are rude and regularly mix up bookings. The only reason to go here is if there is no other option, the bottle shops are closed and you cannot heat up fries in your own oven.
Elyodnanoc
Very original menus... The pepper steal salad can use less sundries tomatoes and the candies pecan.. While the chicken tagliatelle was just perfect
Cassandra Jade
Great pub food to enjoy whilst having drinks- on previous occasion the wedges an chips were nice. Last night we were told the kitchen is temporarily closed except for pizza. This was ok, as we enjoying after-work drinks and they were served fast on wooden trays with salads. The pizza was nice, but not the most flavoursome ever. Also they were 10-25 dollars so definitely not worth the price, but the atmosphere did make up for it. Staff were helpful and friendly and I will be trying the food here when the kitchen reopens.
MrsM
Have eaten here many times for weekend family lunches & everything had been great. Unfortunately this time we had an unpleasurable experience with their so called manager, who was downright rude, arrogant & unhelpful. Lacked basic professionalism and customer service, he had no interest in helping us - bad enough for us to leave and take our group elsewhere for lunch.
Pasta Please
Not too bad. Save for the price of the Grosvington steak - we were pretty happy with standard of food here. <br/><br/>I'll start with the Grosvington steak - for $36 it was definitely lacking in size, the pasty/mushroom case thing was ok, pastry could have been a bit crispier and mushrooms a bit more flavour.<br/><br/>Chicken parma - pretty decent, again though, chips could have been a bit crispier ($24...)<br/><br/>chicken/leek agnolotti with cracked pepper cream sauce - I was very happy with this dish actually - I have no idea what was actually in the agnolotti..it may have been pumpkin, but the chicken and leek sauce was divine. <br/><br/>Good selection of reds by the glass too which always keeps me happy.

Simplify the menu. We had Sunday lunch here and found the meal lacked finish. We both ate the Fish special - Sweet Lip Snapper - with chips, aoli and salad. The highlite was the aoli!! Both our fish meals were overcooked as the top had clearly been placed under a salamander to "grill" finish. The flavours were great just let down by cooking method. The chips were chips, but the salad - a couple pieces of coral lettuce, 1 piece of tomato, 3 qtr pieces cucumber a bit of red onion and some dressing. C'mon and get fairdinkum - call it what it is GARNISH and not salad.<br/>We did enjoy the ambiance of the pub and wish we had ordered the Steak sandwich as the menu did refer to as a grosvenor classic we should have clued in to the star of the menu. My wife was rapped however to see Kim Crawford wine avail by the glass and did receive a free glass due to food issues. <br/><br/>Pubs really should simplify the menu, cut back on menu choices and produce top notch select options. <br/><br/>We would return.

A pub for Drinking.... Currently being renovated (still open though)... good outdoor area and a change from the usual CBD bars after work.
The Ponder Room
Built in the 1800’s I was delighted to see the old girl still standing. Not only was she standing, she was full  to the brim of people enjoying the first gorgeous summer evening, particularly those under the stars in the beer garden. When I used to pass through the hotel on my way to work it was a brisk walk through dark corridors and sticky carpet floors. Now it’s a light filled welcoming place, especially the renovated restaurant area in the rear of the hotel. The foods wasn't bad either.

Even the bruschetta had sausage on it. There was a vegetarian pizza on the specials menu, but It was $20.

I actually love this place in that it has two different sections – the typical pub-like area where you can play some pool, and hang out quite comfortably with mates on a lazy Friday afternoon, and a classier side, where you can host nice business lunches,
