Review Tarts - Perth

Garreth Holdaway
Customer service was excellent, food was excellent and worth the wait! Will definitely return again soon! Another amazing brunch! Busy day and the wait was still no worries. Delicious coffee and fantastic food, really can't say enough about this place :)

What a gem this little cafe. They make the BEST French toast and really nice Gnocchi as well. Owner John is so friendly and makes sure he goes to every table to talk to customers. Looks small from the outside but it goes a long way inside with a nice room for high tea and a nice outdoor seating at the back. Do yourself a favour and try this Cafe. Seriously.

Great coffee. Breakfasts are yummy. Great place to meet friends or clients. They even have a small room you can use for meetings or presentations. Great little find.

Worst Uber eats meal I have ever received. Do not recommend. Couldn’t eat any of it, not even the warm foamy smoothie. I won’t go into too much detail have attached photo. Beware ***

Great food Coffee and Treats to Die for. Food is always great. Try their amazing breakfasts. And if your after a simple time with someone special you have to try their amazing Pancakes and very delectable cakes.
Max Loosen
Seriously what a good place - just look at this French toast. Coffee is top notch too. Well done

I did order a Muffin, they did heat it and it was super dry so i asked for a fresh cold one. The cold one was everything but not fresh. The Americano was good though.

Love this place great ambiance, fantastic food, great accessibility, staff are courteous and friendly. Decor is rustic and uplifting suits the restaurant.

High tea was a standard price but the quality of the food was not of any standard I'd expect from a high tea experience. The room was cramped, cluttered and uncared for. The table was massively overcrowded with the contents of a $2 shop bargain bin. The gluten free menu sounded fantastic but had little to no taste with many things becoming more like a cleaning sponge than a dessert. The frozen dessert was certainly an unexpected challenge resulting in it being left behind. The waitress was half dressed and didn't reflect the fancy and high end experience we were expecting. I was disappointed and felt the experience let me and my family down.

Went for high tea today. It was AMAZING!!! All gluten free and delicious. Table is decorated specially for high tea bookings (great for special occasions), everyone gets an individual plate of savouries and sweets. You can BYO your own sparkling wine which we did and they even had espresso martinis on the beverage list included in the price Would recommend will definitely be back!!

Cannot recommend Tarts high tea enough! Sandra and her lovely waitresses went above and beyond to cater for our allergies, and to make our hen's party high tea a really special event. The food was delicious! Will definitely be back!

A great setting in the courtyard, divine food for a big group luncheon. From drinks service to moving umbrellas etc for our comfort, every waiter and management was helpful. Only negative is for $45/50 head that we paid the main meal wasn’t hot. Beef medallion wrapped in bacon needs to be warm/hot. Lady next to me had fish that was cold and other lady a bowl of hot water wasn’t hot. But I’ll put it down to trying to accommodate to a large group. I’d visit again and recommend it on. Cheers

We had a beautiful high tea here today. The food was delicious and the service excellent but what I liked most was the amazing effort the hostess had gone to to make our day very special. The tables were beautifully decorated and we were given small gifts. It was a lovely intimate setting perfect for celebrating a special occassion. We will definitely be back to enjoy the wonderful hospitality and delicious food. Thank you 😀😀😀
Claire Michelle
Simply outstanding Would highly recommend Fabulous hostess and all the food was unique and delicious.

Best breakfast in Perth. Amazing service, customer comes first kind of attitude. We absolutely loved our breakfast this morning and appreciate how lovely the staff were. Can't wait to come back. Thank you.
Mark Graham
Been ordering from these guys off Uber Eats for a while now and they never disappoint. The croque monsieur and super smoothy are a Sunday favourite.
Celeste McIntosh
Such a great place for s bridal shower. Lots of shade under the umbrellas. The individualised plates of savory then sweet bites were delish. The staff were friendly and welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble. The champagne flowed all afternoon. I would recommend this venue.

Highly recommend Tarts Cafe!! Lovely staff and delicious food! High tea was outstanding! We will def be back 👍🏻😀

Great service, food and coffee. A must for breakfast and lunch. Even if not your local it's well worth the travel.

I went to High-Tea for a Girlfriend's 30th birthday today. It was so lovely! Beautiful menu for savoury food, desserts, an amazing selection of teas, coffees and other drinks. The host was lovely and great and explaining what everything was that we were eating. Thanks for a lovely day

How could you not give you 5/5, the warmth of the staff, the hot chocolate/tea, the love put into the gnocchi and agnolotti. It has been a over a decade since my last visit but today’s visit has placed tarts in the for front on mind. Good job team.

Went for lunch and coffee. Food was good and the staff friendly and helpful! Spent a lovely afternoon.

I had a purrfect afternoon tea yesterday. It was a fundraiser for 9lives cat refuge. The food was wonderful and so filling. The drink menu was ever so pleasing. Champagne was very good Beautiful location in the garden. The staff were ever so pleasant and helpful. Looking forward to my return visit 🌻🐾🌈🍸☕️🍰🍾

Only positive for this cafe was the water was cold. Everything else was very poor to bad including the coles pancakes. Avoid at all costs.
Tara Jackson
Food was fantastic. I had the Christos and it was beautiful. Service was a little slow considering there was no one in the cafe but other than that, I would return

An absolute gem!! It was so delicious! I highly recommend this place. If you are going for a walk to Hyde Park, Tarts is only a couple of blocks from it. The owner is absolutely amazing! My friend has many allergies and can only take almond milk but they had ran out so she ordered a long black but she really didn’t want it so I told her to cancel and bring the coffee from a nearby shop. She went to tell the owner and he said to her not to worry that he will go and buy. He went in his motorbike and got almond milk for her!! We were so impressed by his outstanding level of customer service! We will definitely be back!

Went to tarts as a recommendation from a family member and it soon became our regular Sunday brunch spot. It’s just one of those places that never fails you, we have tried a lot of the menu options and have never once been disappointed. The eggs are always cooked too perfection, the presentation is great and the great flavors are always there. My favorites so far are the pancakes and the eggs Benedict and the coffee is also pretty good. I always recommend tarts to anyone who wants the complete package deal, great food, great ambiance and a very instagramable meal.

Love this cafe. Always made welcome, great food and staff. Lots of choice on the menu and places to sit, inside and out! Check out the monthly degustation night.

<br/>Tarts helped us kick off our friend's hens party with beautiful ambience, a tasty vegan high tea and special service by our lovely host Sandra..<br/>Would highly recommend this as a lovely cozy location to get some re bonding time with girlfriends..

Love this place! I took my friends who run a cafe in Berlin here and they absolutely loved it as well! We all had the breakfast quesadillas because that dish is tooo damn delicious and none of us wanted food envy. The staff are always super friendly and there’s a few different seating options (either out the back in the garden, inside, or out the front). Finally, the prices are great compared to some other brunches! Would definitely recommend! 😁

I guess it has a pleasant twee feel to it, and I do appreciate the decision to offer table service, but that service sure could use a polish. You wouldn't know these guys are in the business of selling coffee based on my experience of sitting with an empty cup while staff, who were not super busy on this quiet weekday morning, passed by half a dozen times (not exaggerating - I counted) without asking if I'd like another one, or anything else. <br/>My breakfast, judging by the menu description, had guacamole as the hero element of the dish, but geez, you'd need a micrometer to measure the measly smear of avocado on the toast. My investment advice; forget lithium or bitcoin, buy avocado futures, they apparently cost more than saffron.<br/>It might be different on weekends but this day the clientele was mostly older folk and I'd say this is a helpful way to sum the place up - one for the seniors and retirees who have low expectations of a cafe and are delighted by the very basics of hospitality.

Came by on a busy Saturday morning and had the pleasure of sitting in the sun in the outside garden area. I ordered the breakfast bruschetta - a little left field from your usual brunch options but man it was tasty! Corn and zucchini cake with sweet potato, semi dried tomatoes, goats cheese, rocket salad topped with a poached egg and a side of chorizo. The coffee is also pretty good here!

Just the best lemon tart nice place to end ur day of shopping. Great surrounds could do with a wee bit more covered space . Very crowded and could hear everyones converstion which i find i bit impersonal. Other from that perfect.😊
G&D
Ordered a matcha latte which was full of lumps, when I asked if it could be remade I was told that I need to stir out the lumps myself as this is how a matcha latte is made (I've had matcha lattes at many other places who make it correctly and never needed to stir out lumps myself). Food was average. Bad customer service.
Foodie In Paradise
Very cozy cafe to be at this morning, really like the beautiful display of the dessert upon walking inside the cafe. <br/>Food was okay at this place. Quite a big serving for the price. The mocha at this cafe was nice but the glassware there used wasn't that great, felt like I nearly burn my hand when trying to drink it. Good freshly squeezed juice. Very friendly service.

I wasn't overly impressed with this place. Tarts cafe was on my bucket list in Northbridge after seeing their brioche french toast with a vanilla pannacotta. The pannacotta was too thick, and the brioche hadn't been soaked enough. The saviour was the chia jam and mascapone- and that wasn't particularly great either.

Really nice place to visit. Great food and great coffee. Staff are friendly and efficient. Cosy inside. Parking can sometimes be hard to find.

I organised a bridal shower recently at Tarts including a floral workshop and high tea for 21 guests. We used the cafe's outdoor seating area which was perfect for our function. I have to commend the cafe owner Sandra for being absolutely amazing to us!! She had decorated all the tables and set up all the umbrellas covering the tables before I even arrived. She even helped decorate an impromptu cake table we set up. She was so lovely and accommodating!! I would highly recommend Tarts as your next function venue for a high tea. Whilst the food was average, the drinks menu was definitely above average including drinks such as chilli hot chocolate and cinnamon coffee, and the service was impeccable!!!

I went there on Sunday afternoon. They were very busy. You have to wait 45 minutes if you want yo order food. So I decided to order drinks and two small chips which not taking so much time to come. I love their ice mocha and homemade ice tea. The place is unique and has it's own character which i like it. And the staffs are very friendly.

Beautifully displayed food, lovely friendly service, consistently high quality worth coming back for all these years ☺️Thank you for a beautiful and tasty experience as always 😊👍

Tarts is a beautiful little cafe on the street in Northbridge. It’s yet another venue on the famous list I keep talking about!. It is located close to another cafe which was also rather busy as we arrived on the street. The first thing we noticed was the outdoor seating and how busy it was so we were not sure if we would be able to get a seat inside. As we walked in, I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of space indoors and we made our way to our small table at the back of the cafe.

Went for the vegan/vegetarian high tea and it was fantastic! It was really beautifully arranged, the food was unique and tasty and the staff were lovely. I'd highly recommend it! We had such a nice Sunday afternoon.

The coffee was quite nice. I ordered lemon tart and passionfruit tart. Both of them were sour of course and the flavour was nice. My friends ordered poached eggs on toast for his breakfast however the chef forgot to remove egg shell from cooking. The environment was good.

What a pretty cafe! Went for breakfast this morning (Sunday) and didn't have to wait for a seat which is a plus. So to kick off we ordered our coffees first while we decided what to get. I got the cappuccino and it was made very well and tasted strong but not bitter. My friends had a flat white and espresso topped up, they too enjoyed their coffees aswell. So overall no complaints in the coffee department. <br/><br/>On to the food...<br/>Potato Head $19.90: I ordered this dish which consisted of two poached eggs, asparagus, spinach, mushrooms, hollandaise sauce all over a potato fritter. It sounded great on the menu but having it, I would say it lacked salt and was a tad on the bland side. It was nice but it wasn't memorable and I would probably get something else on the menu next time. <br/><br/>My friends ordered...<br/>Croque-Monsieur $10.90: a brioche filled with ham, cheese, bechamel sauce, coated and toasted with paprika butter. My friend seemed to enjoy it but personally looking at her meal I didn't think it was worth the price (it was sandwiched sized) and it looked like a glorified toasted sandwich. <br/><br/>The Hombre $18.90- it was guacamole on ciabatta with tomato, rocket, poached egg and chipotle sauce. My friend liked her dish but again I'm harping on about the price again but with no meat and for $18.90! Come on it should have been less. <br/><br/>Overall I liked the atmosphere of Tarts (lovely interior and outdoor back area) and the staff was prompt and friendly but the food and the price let me down. Normally I would rave on about the food with my friends after our meal but there was no discussion on that front. Personally I think I would just go back to Tarts for the coffee and try the cakes.

High Tea at Tarts Cafe was a treat this Mother's Day! Three generations of mum's celebrating and Tarts didn't disappoint. The savoury and sweet dishes were beautifully presented and tasted delicious. There was a variety of tea and coffee on offer and a glass of sparkling wine. Tables were beautifully presented with friendly staff led by the wonderful owner Sandra. Service was also prompt, even on such a busy day. Have already recommended Tarts to work colleagues this morning. will be back again soon!
You Guys Go Out Too Much
Made a Mother's Day booking which was obviously double booked as we were led to the cellar (dungeon) where they had to hastily gather some dirty plastic chairs for us to sit on around the dirty table and rat trap placed near the doorway. When we complained we were told it was regarded as being a good location. Anyway they made amends by bringing us back to the main dining area where we were served nice food with below average service. My son who ordered the bagle with house made preserve then was given a hard piece of plastic in his preserve. When we complained we were told "oh that's just from the container it was in". When I said I was very unhappy about it I was basically told sorry the is nothing I can do to change that and he walked off. Again they eventually made amends by coming back and offering the dish for free. When I went to pay the food was rung up on the till and when it got to my sons dish the cashier said "that ones complimentary" as if they were doing me a favour. Anyway I virtually never complain and I do realise it was a busy service but good food is only part of the experience. If all the above had not occurred I would have rated it around a 4.0 and if they had handled things better I would have been prepared to give 3.0 but overall we all left feeling let down. I wouldn't rush back.

On each of my previous visits to Tart’s the food and service have always been good, and today’s late brekkie was no exception. Friendly waitress greeted me at the front and took my coffee order as soon as I chose a table outside. It came out quickly, nice and hot, and perfectly strong as I like it. Yes they do good coffees here – I ordered the long Mac topped up! For brekkie I ordered a Bloody Mary and the potato head which had two poached eggs, asparagus, mushrooms, spinach and Hollandaise sauce on a potato cake. Food came out reasonably quickly given they were very busy. The eggs were cooked perfectly and everything tasted fresh. But I was missing the pepper and no mill at my table. Ah well, but it would be nice to have had some cracked pepper. <br/><br/>The Bloody Mary was full of fresh flavours and my waitress informed me it had fresh tomato juice. It was good and nice kick of spice, but I was miss the kick from the vodka, perhaps it was non-alcoholic. Anyway I felt rejuvenated, that’s all that matters.<br/><br/>Yes you can expect consistently good food, service and excellent coffee. I come here regularly and will continue to do so.

Our planned breakfast location was closed upon arrival (which was disappointing) and would not open for another half an hour! Deciding not to wait we continued walking and ended up at Tarts café in Northbridge. The location of this café is divine, a quiet little street with no real traffic or outside noises. The perfect setting for a quiet Saturday morning breakfast and catch up.

Great atmosphere and decor. We went for breakfast; menu was exciting and our meals were quite nice...eggs were a bit watery but that can be forgiven as they were super busy. <br/>Disappointed on paying the bill we were told our Entertainment Book 25% off voucher wasn't accepted as it was "Easter Monday and they were not charging a public holiday surcharge". On checking the entertainment book t&c's Easter Monday isn't a public holiday listed that vouchers are not valid, so they should have honored the discount regardless of a surcharge or not. Hard to not feel the experience was spoilt because of this, and we will think twice before heading back unfortunately.<br/>

After reading some great reviews I was really looking forward to having a great breakfast. I tried hard to enjoy myself, but I ended up with a headache due to the amount of noise coming from the open kitchen only 5m away. So much bang and crash it was ridiculous. I also found the coffee just to be another coffee, and the eggs benny would be better at Dome. Oh yeah, the milkshake was $6.90 which would probably be the same price as the whole bottle of syrup and milk that they used to make It with. Overall I'd go there if everywhere else was closed (which it was in this case), but only if I had to.<br/><br/>On a side note I really liked the owner's dedication to his job walking around, aside from the quality of food and prices I can tell he really cares about his customers.

This place has been around the corner from my grandmothers forever. Decided to stop and have lunch. Wow. The menu says exactly what you will get but some indecipherable description. Real cream with the cake canned crap. Prices are very reasonable. Coffee is HOT and Vitoria so strong. Give this one a go. Girls in the back room are doing a high tea looks good.
Grahak777
Ate their this morning. It took 50 minutes for 4 cooked breakfasts to arrive at our table after ordering. It was just simple stuff eggs, potato cakes and so forth. The food was nice but the wait, not just worth it.

Reluctantly ordered the eggs bennie, fearing the hollandaise sauce would disappoint. Much to my surprise I have not only found real hollandaise in Perth, but stumbled onto an Aladdin's cave of beautiful cakes and pastries. I fear I'll need to secretly visit with a scarf and dark glasses for some Portuguese tarts in the near future.

Have to say this is just the best breakfast I've had around town. Their butterscotch milkshake was just so rich and not too sweet. The food was so delicious, I could just keep eating it forever. Have got to say that this is one of the places people must try!!

Stopped in this morning for a quick brunch and catchup and I must say very impressed with food, coffee and prices. Avocado on toast with poached eggs was fantastic, lattes were delicious and parking a breeze. Two orders with three coffees between us for $39. Huzzah.

Really interesting place to eat <br/>Quite a bit going on when I went a few weeks ago <br/>The chicken cashew toastie was bigger than I expected and was quite filling and flavoursome<br/>Not a bad place over all

Been to Tarts several times and now with Layup just round the corner and of course, Sayers Sister, they definitely won't be my first choice. Decent breakfasts, nothing special. Way more interesting menus at Sayers sister and layup. <br/><br/>This time round I ordered the strawberry and granola tart.... A pressed muesli shell with vanilla, mascarpone, fresh berries, maple syrup and topped with banana mango "sorbet." Mine looked like it just came out an ice cube mould and was just a solid junk of frozen juice. It was nice but it wasn't worth the half hour wait since if required zero cooking.

This little cafe is possibly the best bonus of staying at our local home away from worksite in Northbridge. Always pumping out great music, coffee and food, no matter what time of day. And a cake cabinet to suit everyone - and not a vanilla slice to be seen anywhere! 😁<br/><br/>27/03/16: Enjoyed a light lunch and coffee at our local. Pulled pork in a delicious bagel, and Mrs Kiwichef loved her chicken and avocado panini! Thanks for staying open right throughout Easter weekend 😍😎<br/><br/>26/01/16: So pleased to find that our favorite local was going to open for brekky on Straya Day! I loved the Neptune Fritter last time I was here, and prefer to try out other offerings on the menu whenever I can. Call it Food FOMO! Ordered the Savoury Corn and Zucchini Cake, with an extra poached egg and a side of bacon, while Mrs Kiwichef had scrambled eggs on GF toast, with a side of mushrooms. Mine was simply delicious and Mrs couldn't finish her mushrooms so I had to take one for the team (in the interest of not wasting good food, of course!). Reliably great cappuccinos, and I've booked us in for their Sunday night Degustation Valentines Day dinner, on Feb 14th. Looks more like a 3 course set menu for $65pp, but that still represents great value, especially with a BYO bottle of bubbles. Surprisingly, we were the first bookings, but I'm guessing they'll go quickly once the regulars cotton on, so 'rattle your dags' and reserve a romantic dinner for you and your beau!<br/><br/><br/>

We went for a Saturday morning brunch and thoroughly enjoyed our meals here. Pancakes were fluffy and were not overly sweet and the fritters salmon Benedict were delicious. We will be back!

Lovely little cafe! Lots of character backed up by great service & beautiful food. Coffee was speedy as was food which everyone on our table enjoyed. Granola tart was pretty specy! Yum.

Shitty food, bad service and the rude owner. Everything's overpriced and the hand made stuff displayed looked dodge. Worst restaurant I've ever been to.

What a sweet little find in Northbridge. Don't let the outside deceive you to thinking it's not that big. <br/>There are some fantastic options in the menu, the hard thing will be to choose what to order. We had the Strawberry Granola Tart, Neptune Fritter and the Potato Head.<br/>The Strawberry Granola Tart was visually stunning, full of flavour and colour.<br/>The Neptune Fritter and Potato Head were quite similar. Both had perfectly poached eggs and a tasty potato fritter, both come recommended!

Went for Sunday brunch with my boyfriend. Wait time to order was about 15-20min. Though they did respond quickly when asked. Food was average. The steak sandwich was $19.9, came with nice bread but a 1mm thick steak. I had the hombre for $18.9, disappointed with my smear of quacamole. Lucky we had the entertainment book discount. Might come again, but with the entertainment book.

I thought I'd book a breakfast for two as Tarts is one of a few Cafés that you can actually make a booking! Its a big bonus knowing that your seats are guaranteed and you dont have to go extra early like busy places that are only on a walk in basis only. Now to the business end, the food. I ordered two lattes & The Christos which consisted of a half avocado shell filled with avocado, sundried tomato , topped with salmon & a poached egg. Service was great and it wasn't long until we received our lattes. I am a bit of a coffee connoisseur as I was once in the industry for many years. I must say, the coffee was great! Then the breakfasts came out. The presentation was fantastic, with the breakfast being spot on! Overall I had a very enjoyable breakfast experience and would definitely recommend the Tarts Cafe experience to anyone. I will definitely be going back!

Had a high tea at Tarts. This is not a traditional high tea but it was absolutely fabulous. Individual trays of savouries and choice of tea/ coffee followed by trays of sweets and another tea or coffee. All the food was delicious and they catered well for my adversion to nuts. They can also do a great vegan high tea. Staff are lovely and very attentive. Would highly recommend but you do need to book.

Horrible breakfast. I went here this morning for their good review. Had the Potato head and Christos. They were unbelievably tasteless. Not back here again

Tart by name but sweet by nature. Has a sweet, as in quaint feel. We had sweets. Rocky road for me. Very very sweet. Cherry and almond tart (not so tart, more so sweet). For the first time ever my sfw was decaf! Huge day in my life but made easier by a good experience. I'd love to go back there in the morning when caffeine levels don't matter. Also keen to try the dinner menu and experience the inside and garden area. A sweet afternoon experience with the sweet man in my life.
Masterchef
Packed house on the weekend, which is nothing unusual, and adds to the charm and ambiance of Tarts. The owner as always is totally on the ball, so friendly and quick to get us seated and comfortable. The service and food were spot on!<br/>Hats off to the chef - the steak sandwich was to die for, and Chicken Jerk Salad oh so YUMMMMMMM!!! A little noisy inside with the big group of ladies but still love everything about this little Northbridge gem. <br/>It never fails to disappoint!!!

First visit to Tarts tonight….bit of a story here. We purchased 2 vouchers to use at Tarts from ClicktoBid.  Usually vouchers last for at least 6 months but lo and behold we discovered our vouchers had expired 2 weeks ago!  Not to be wasteful my husband called Tarts and would you believe they said they would honour the vouchers.  Well tonight we went for dinner and it was absolutely delicious….beautiful food all round (there were 4 of us) and my dish which was mushrooms, cherry tomatoes and polenta was so oozing garlic and flavour- just how I like it!!  We are going again next week to use another voucher but I think from reading the breaky reviews it may become a fave morning spot too - we don't live too far away.  Great service, lovely atmosphere and well done on honouring the vouchers and being true to the fund raising spirit that ClicktoBid is all about - will  recommend to all………….

Dogs Around Perth
Beautiul cafe that welcomes your dog in the fully enclosed garden dining area. Super friendly staff and beautiful food, love the healthy food options available too.  Not far from Hyde Park so perfect for a bite to eat or a coffee before or after a (on the lead) walk at Hyde Park.
Irenenyein
ordered the christos and hombre. the christos was delightful! im a big avo fan so for the avocado to be mixed with a salsa and cut into little cubes and placed back into the avocado is amazing and the salmon with the sauce and poached egg tasted so good! the waitress we had wasn't very friendly though..
Dogs Around Perth
Tarts Cafe Northbridge is a lovely cafe that welcomes dogs and their owners to dine together in the beautiful garden dining setting at the back of the cafe. When you arrive with your dog, just ask the staff to open the side gate for you, and you can enter the garden dining setting at the back.  There is plenty of room here to dine with your dog and is covered by large thick umbrellas so could even be ok when light rain is about.
Lifelovetravelfood
Great little spot! We visited for Sunday breakfast and had a tough time choosing as their menu is great! My husband had a semi-dried tomato and sweet potato fritter with poached eggs, smoked salmon and hollandaise which he really enjoyed. I had the zucchini and corn fritters with goats cheese, spinach, avocado, tomato salsa and scrambled egg (it comes with poached but I changed due to my pregnancy needs!) Great coffee and friendly service. I really liked the atmosphere and the little shop too. I liked Tarts Cafe a lot!
Luke
Cool place, chilled decor and super friendly & efficient staff. Went for dinner and ate the Pasta Gambero...probably one of the best restaurant pastas I've ever had. Fresh pasta, beautiful prawns made for a perfectly balanced main. Also highly recommend the Trio of Dips for entrée. Had absolutley no room left for dessert, but ill make sure i do next time...they looked amazing! Saving the 5 stars until I've confirmed the desserts are as yummy as they look...

Potato head is good. Only complaint would be too much spinach but it's a minor gripe. The spud cake was well tidy. Rubbish why this app enforces 140 characters. 30 would suffice.
Mo1975
Very disappointing breakfast. I chose quite a healthy option but I expected so much more. I paid $19 for a dish that I could've knocked up for about five bucks. Only positives were it's clean and an okay location.
Take Me To Foodie Heaven
Mum had the Grande breakfast ($24.90) which comprises of scrambled eggs with bacon, chorizo, grilled tomato and mushrooms served with ciabatta bread. If you want a hearty breakfast to make a grand entrance to your day, the Grande breakfast is for you. I had a taste of each element and they are so delicious, from the fluffy scrambled eggs to the perfectly cooked chorizo.

I had high hopes for this cafe after their chocolate milkshake was crowned the 'second best milkshake in Perth' on an @idrinkmilkshakes Instagram review. As a milkshake enthusiast, I endorse the 9.5 rating; the flavour and consistency was was everything you would expect in a good milkshake... My stepfather inhaled his chocolate milkshake, then in his state of milkshake enduced ecstasy, ordered and consumed a strawberry milkshake. I would like to give Tarts a full rating based on the milkshake factor and our delicious lunch dishes, however the service quality really put a damper on our experience; we arrived on time for our lunch booking to find our table unprepared, waited 20 minutes to have our orders taken before persuing the wait staff ourselves and after a 30-40 minute wait, one of the salads arrived without the requested steak component. For quality ensured service, wait staff should be more attentive and get into a habit of reading orders back to their customers!

Wednesday September 1 Lunch<br/><br/>Just have to say the most amazing service I've had for a while for a little cafe. Good attentive service at the table albeit it was a pay at the counter gig...<br/>Meals checks were a fresh take on a lot of the newer cafes that have been springing open <br/><br/>Just wonderful. <br/><br/>And ofcourse their food was at their usual delightfulness!

In the fringes of Northbridge and very close to High Park, Tarts is a full- trottle sort of cafe, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. I have visited for breakfast and lunch, never for dinner. <br/><br/>The Good<br/>> Good strong coffee<br/>> Great selection of tarts. You go to Tarts for those more than for the savoury food.<br/>> Good prices and value for money.<br/>> Relaxing ambience and patron from all ages.<br/>> Friendly service.<br/>>Lovely inner courtyard. <br/><br/>The not so good<br/>>> Some of the breakfasts are minuscule in size.<br/>>> Some of the breakfast are too big, others too small, and in general their breakfasts are hit and miss.<br/>>> My eggs were over-poached at times.<br/>>> Uncoordinated distracted service at times.<br/>>> Crowded space in the main area. <br/><br/>Overall a nice cafe with lovely tarts and desserts, and OK savoury food for breakfast and lunch.. However, Sayers Sisters is a few metres away...

Fabulous service. Very attentive and overall, lovely staff. Food was decent and loved the selection of cakes and tarts in the fridge section.

I went there on a Saturday with my boyfriend and we were both truly disappointed. Firstly, his soy latte was served with normal milk and we had to get it changed (mind you if someone is lactose intolerant). Secondly the food portion is tiny and quality is poor. We don't expect to pay $18 for something like Coles's 85 cents white toast, and tomato slices were even seasoned. We left the cafe feeling being ripped off.

Always great food decent size serves really interesting appetising menu i love a great coffee easy individual billing great atmosphere lovely n relaxing love going here will be back again n again <br/>

I was expecting this to be great but everything was just ok, certainly no wow factor. Eggs benedict was cooked well and the bacon/ham had a nice smokey flavour. The savoury muffin was average, I think it was kale and egg? I'm not sure as all I could taste was the kale. I only ate half of it. The coffee was good but not very hot. Overall nothing bad but wouldn't make the trip to the city again for it.

Very nice place to eat brunch. The service is fast and the staffs are very friendly. Plus it's not overcrowded like other places, so it's a very relaxing place to have a coffee.

Went to Tarts for breakfast Friday. Not too busy and was served coffee in good time. I ordered breakfast having sought some advice from the owner and placed my order with him. 35 mins later still no food and only a few patrons still there :( <br/><br/>I went to the counter to ask and the order hadn't even been put through. Not what I want for breakfast out. I ordered the quinoa porridge. It was fair only. I was offered a free coffee for my inconvenience. I don't think that would have cost them much. I suggest saving your money there and spending it where custom is valued.

You may not realise it, but the atmosphere around you when drinking a wine can impact what you think and feel about a wine. Adding music to the mix, completes the sensory experience of a wine. As you know, you use your sight, smell and taste buds to determine what you think of the wine but sound/hearing is rarely used. So I say, let’s complete the wine experience and why not do it listening to the smooth tunes of jazz live in Perth city!

I really like Tarts for lunch. The choice is good and always lives up to expectations. Very good value for money. I love the little gifts all around the cafe too.

Usually I get some pho or broken rice from Tra Vinh when I'm grocery shopping with my mum but today I felt like something different! There is plenty of street parking which is awesome. The decor is funky with heaps of different seating areas. The cakes looked delicious but I was too full from the grande. The iced chocolate was so good! The service is always friendly and food came out pretty fast considering it was almost full.

Just on the outskirts of Northbridge is Tarts Cafe. I've been here half a dozen times for different occasions, the food is always delicious and the service is great. It's a family run business and you can tell they take the time to care about their customers and create a welcoming and relaxed place to dine. <br/>I've had dinner in the boardroom a few times, its perfect for a group of people as it's private and a large square table makes conversation easy (perfect spot for our book club meet ups!). <br/>I went recently for their afternoon high tea for a friends hens party,  unlike many high teas where the food is placed in the center to share, you get your own platter of savory and then sweet all to yourself! I liked this way of doing high tea much better. The chilli hot chocolate is also to die for!<br/>I've also been here for a cocktail wedding and we BYO our wine and they provided tasty canapes which we enjoyed in their pretty courtyard.<br/>An all round great place  :)

The name Tarts may be short and sharp, but the cafe itself is quite the opposite. From breakfast fare to lunches, to special degustation nights with jazz singers, this little haven in Northbridge is nothing if not versatile. They even have jewellery, scarves, homewares and food for sale, a boardroom you can use for small group meetings, and a rustic courtyard out the back where a French speaking group meet most Saturdays.

Good atmosphere. Bland as paper

Lex said it was amazing!!!. Look out for Lex's review soon!! I don't have brunch too often but when I do it will be here for sure!!!

What a beautiful place, a family catch up...Busy for a Sunday and 20 min wait.. Well worth it food service and coffee sensational..cater for the entire family.
The Honest Foodie
Takes forever to get service some days . All and all a very nice place for breakfast or lunch. Coffee is amazing. Never had a bad meal here.

Quirky and special.. Always find an excuse to visit. Had the high tea at our last visit and was superb. Great choice of teas, coffee and chilli hot chocolate, I loved all the sweets and savouries. Quirky little gifts too to purchase. I always leave with some take away cakes for my family.

Great Mothers Day lunch. Had a combined Mothers Day / birthday celebration here two weeks ago in the Boardroom... What a fabulous private dining area - spacious, beautiful decor, huge table and when the door is closed, you can't hear a thing which was a wonderful surprise for our hearing-impaired parents. They usually miss out on a lot of conversation with the background noise at restaurants and cafes but the Boardroom was simply perfect.<br/><br/>Loved that we had table service too (you usually have to order at the counter when you're at a "normal" table). Food was superb and it all came out together which is such a nice change when dining with a big group.<br/><br/>Service was fantastic as usual. Separate billing allowed too. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff at Tarts and that's exactly why we keep coming back. Keep up the great work!<br/><br/>-----06 Apr, 2015-----<br/><br/>CONSISTENTLY GOOD. Haven't been here for a couple of years but everything is just how I remember it.<br/><br/>Went for breaky today - reservation accepted, orders taken, service friendly, kids could have half-serves of anything on the menu including drinks. The older guy with the moustache who works there (the owner maybe?) was extremely helpful with gluten-free choices, even going as far as bringing ingredient labels to our table. He was lovely but rather poker-faced and didn't crack a smile all morning - not sure why.<br/><br/>Our table ordered the Neptune, the Potato Head and the Savoury Cake dishes, with half-serves of scrambled eggs with a piece of toast for the kids. Everything was cooked to perfection - nothing to complain about. Coffee was superb. Deconstructed hot chocolate (where you pour your own choc bits into the hot milk) was a hoot for the kids especially.<br/><br/>It's easy to see why Tarts is popular. It's such a nice, friendly, accommodating cafe where nothing is too much trouble and it seems the staff are happy to just be there and serve customers - seems to be a rare thing on Perth's cafe scene!<br/><br/>I love this place. Highly recommend it.
Goldenstatewarriorsklay
Great value and quality without the pretentiousness.. The kitchen absolutely pumps here. I always leave one very satisfied customer. Staff are energetic and friendly, coffee is stunning. The crowd that comes here is a little more down to earth than other establishments nearby. Great ambience !!
Innit
Neighbourhood gem, breakfast is available until 3pm which can be handy somedays. Food is just as good as sayers sister next door, but never a wait to be seated. Cakes are delicious as well
Sarah.datson
Disapointed. Did not like the pancakes for $19.00 - the pancakes were huge serve - with the syrup was poured over the pancake - a bit of fresh cream and some berries - that was it<br/>The syrup was not enough for the amount of pancakes on the plate - it kindda just wetted the pancakes and made them horrible to eat ... Not enjoyable at all.

Great breakfast nice staff. Was the highlight of my day knowing I could go for breakfast here being over the north ridge area.<br/>Always yum, tasty coffee quick and polite
Ashlee.skehan
Ash. Went to Tarts on the Monday of a long weekend so we expected it to busy but did not expect to wait over 50minutes for our breakfast! No communication from the staff to let us know there was any kind of delay and after noticing the tables behind us were already eating their meals when they'd arrived well after we'd ordered we left without getting our meal. So can't really comment on how good the food is but the service gets a big fat zeroooo.
THE ILLUSIVE FEMME
written by theillusivefemme A friends birthday is the perfect excuse to gather the troops and discover a new (to us anyway) cafe! Last weekend saw my lovely friend F celebrate another birthday, in style of course, and the first stop on “The Day Of F” was a lovely foodie gathering at Northbridge’s Tarts Cafe. With an extensive menu and reviews to boot it was the perfect spot for celebration. Located on a leafy, semi suburban street outside the hustle and bustle of central NB, Tarts is part food haven, part artsy shopping central. As well as tables galore and glorious food you could easily shop up a storm after eating, with gorgeous handmade and local wares for sale. I will admit I was eyeing off a few treasures, so that will definitely be one reason to head back to the cute cafe. Thankfully Tarts takes bookings, because the popular spot was buzzing on this particular Saturday morning. Seated by a friendly waiter we pursued the menu, deciding on coffee and fresh juices to start the day. Birthday girl F went with the vibrant freshly squeezed juice featuring beetroot and apple whilst V, L and I couldn’t start the day without coffee. My Soy Long Macchiato was strong and smooth, and although it could have been a little bit hotter it went down easily.     Now onto the food. Tarts is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner with three different menus, and something for everyone. The brunch menu is large and served from 7am-3pm with the lunch treats kicking in from 12pm. Gluten free and vegetarian options are also available so GF L was super impressed with the various choices. After much decision she went with the Potato Head ($19.90), a poached egg topped potato cake, served with asparagus, mushroom, spinach and hollandaise. The dish looked delicate yet glutinous, smothered in thick house made hollandaise. Fresh and flavoursome, L was very impressed.  Birthday girl F couldn’t pass up the freshly baked quiche of the day, a Spinach and Cheese Quiche ($14.90), proudly on display o

Best breakfast in Perth IMO!. I have only dined at Tarts for breakfast but it is consistently amazing, the choice is great, food is always fresh and tasty and the service is warm and friendly, bit of a rarity for Perth these days! Also, always accommodating for groups... I quite often go with a big group of friends and again, becoming quite rare to be able to make a breakfast reservation in Perth these days, so another great feature!

Absolute rubbish . Overpriced, slow service , unpalatable food, rude manager. Ordered garlic bread and would have been better going to get a slice of el cheapo toast bread. Salad full of strands of black thread. Leaves old and bruised. Pate jelly tough as though few days old. Breads accompanying it were the wrong type and crumbly. Chips better at mcdonalds. Arancini balls dip swimming in greasy oil. Took ages for food to come out. Manager not interested to come out and sort it out.<br/>So much for what should have been a rare opportunity for two friends to have a great lunch together!!!! Ruined the day for us.<br/>Don't be fooled by the high satisfaction rating!

Fantastic Afternoon Tea. Just the place for a special afternoon tea. We had the Boardroom to ourselves. That was great - we were perfectly private and yet still felt part of the cafe and its lovely atmosphere. The food was just so delicious and beautifully presented and the gluten free option was first class. All in all a very special afternoon. Bring on the next special occasion!

Went in today with no heads up about a group of 12 (after having to switch venues) and was very happy with the customer service promptly accommodating such a large group. The courtyard was very pretty and gave us something to focus on whilst it being such a hot day. And the food came out before we knew it and everyone raved about the quality of their dishes. Thank you so much Tarts for a very pleasant Sundah brunch. Highly recommended!

Delightful. My sister and I tried to dine here Christmas Eve but they were closed so we tried again on the weekend.<br/><br/>Sat outside where we could fit the kid in a high chair and were quickly offered menus and water. <br/><br/>The menu is a little on the pricy side so ordered the lighter options. Went with the quinoa salad (minus the chicken as with it, it comes to $30 all up) and the calamari. <br/><br/>The salad had some nice pieces of halomi on top and a lot of rocket and quinoa. Mixed throughout were red onion, tomato and avocado but they were chopped into very small pieces whereas I prefer a chunkier salad. The calamari were tiny rings, deep fried and tasted great. This came with a small side salad with sun dried tomatoes and pine nuts.<br/><br/>We ordered a raspberry and rhubarb cake/muffin to finish and were most impressed. It was light and buttery and tasted homemade. The cream on the side was a nice touch.<br/><br/>There's a nice outdoor area at the back where they had live music playing. Would eat here again if in the area.

Crap tried 3 times don't bother. We have tried this 3 times and disappointing every time. Service is friendly but food is crap. <br/><br/>We got a breakfast called Italian. Maybe like a bruschetta u think? Nope crap is the word. <br/><br/>A tomato sliced, an avocado sliced with some feta on top. $15!!<br/><br/>It didn't even come with bread. Crap crap crap. There was a packet of butter on the plate so we said is there any toast with this crap meal?? Oh they must have forgot here's a small piece of dried toast left in the kitchen. <br/><br/>It took us 45mins to get our meals and the place wasn't full. No wonder. Our other meals were rather much the same. <br/><br/>Staff aren't interested in your opinions either so stay home and get your homebrand baked beans they are much more satisfying.

Enjoyable Evening. I went out with a group of 8 ladies for our Christmas get together at Tarts, I hadn't been here before but had heard good things. We were ushered into a comfy nook where we could be boisterous without annoying other customers. The food menu was tantalising and it took quite a while to narrow down my options and make a decision. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their food and the ambience of the place. They kindly let us pay individually which was greatly appreciated. My only small criticism would be that after the main meal was served the service was almost non existent and we had to go up to the counter to find someone to take a drinks order. Which was a shame because had someone been more attentive I am sure we could hard been fairly easily persuaded to indulge in more wine or desserts.<br/>Overall very enjoyable evening

Can't boil an egg and worst lunch ever.. Went to tarts on Sunday morning two weeks ago for coffee. One of our groups asked for boiled egg and toast. After much kerfuffle staff came back and said poached eggs only. Really? He declined. Today went for Sunday lunch. Asked for a salt and pepper calamari. Sold out. Fair enough but quiche I ordered instead was bland, tasteless, clearly microwaved and truly awful. My husbands steak sandwich had a wafer thin slice of beef - not steak at all. Maybe a slice of roast beef. Not good enough Tarts.
Cake Face
Pricey and no service. We were popped right by the door and therefore constantly had staff traipsing past us and ignoring us. Waited over an hour for our food and the place wasn't even half full.<br/><br/>Steak sandwich was tasty, however the Lamb and Mango salad at $25 was just lettuce and a few sporadic 'good bits'.<br/><br/>Even with the entertainment book it still cost us $69 for 2 with coffees.
Crusader Rabbit
Pretentious and so 'very' important. Just ask the manager, he'll explain that they're so pretentious and important that they don't have time to bother with customers that don't have a booking. Just your average plebe that thinks WAY TOO MUCH of his personal 'space'

We decided to revisit this cafe after a disappointing first visit. I'm pleased to say that I'm glad we did. The starters (arancini balls and Sicilian gnocchi wrapped in aubergine) were both delightful. The mains were also good but not outstanding. We ordered two lamb shanks which were tender and the sauce tasty, gnocchi in Neapolitan sauce which was also good and stuffed mushrooms which were average at best. This is an average cafe which is a little different to most. It sells jewellery and kids' clothing as well as some produce, eg preserved lemons. I would return, but not in a hurry.

Abundant Choice. Love the great variety and quality of food on the menu.
Porridgebrother
Love it!. Went there earlier with my parents and their friends. The cafe has a lovely atmosphere and feels very homey if you get what I mean; the waitresses are lovely and sweet + food was superb! We had three different cakes (all awesome), pancakes (fluffy and not too sweet), calamari salad (crispy, delish) as well as some other salad idk the name oops, some tasting plate I didn't get to eating and the pulled pork burger (not bad, could be more flavoursome). Overall a wonderful experience - would love to come back again.
Lmtaylor
Disappointing. I popped in to Tarts at 4 to grab a quick lunch/dinner on the run. I ordered a chicken panini n said i didn't want it toasted. What i got was a panini which had been microwaved beyond belief and yet soggy inside and it had then been toasted. It was so hot i had to wait 20 minutes before i could eat it. I hope this is not the usual standard but to pay $12 for a boiling soggy toasted bun with shredded chicken and hot avocado.....it's not a place i'd recommend.
Madi
Tasty, fresh, gorgeous setting and big selection of dishes and cakes to choose from. Recommend this place for breakfast and brunch.

Great service and quality food, can't go wrong. Got the eggs benedict which was tasty

Dinner at Tarts Cafe. My family enjoyed a beautiful meal at Tarts on Friday the 25th July. I have frequented this restaurant for lunch & dinner many times over the years & have never been disappointed. We had a party of 9 for my husbands birthday & everyone enjoyed their meals. The service was great, very friendly, & helpful. The meals were fresh, good size, tasty & well priced.
Michelle Myles Dinsdale
Disappointed. Went for breakfast. Had eggs benedict, eggs very runny and meal wasn't even warm. However the coffee was very good.
Sam Hassan
I used to be a regular over a year ago but with so many good cafes now available I drifted away and finally arrived back a couple of weeks ago. <br/>This place has really picked up their game. <br/>Better than ever. <br/>Breakfast options were awesome and great size. <br/>Good coffee to.

12.12.15<br/><br/>Went back to Tarts Cafe for lunch because Hubby missed their Steak Sandwich. It's still as tasty as before. I ordered Christos: An avocado shell filled with sundried tomato, smoked salmon, rocket and marinated avocado with grilled asparagus, poached egg and ciabatta bread. Im not sure if its the sundried tomato or the ingredients they used to marinate the avocado, but it's got a weird taste, reminded me of cough medicine. Moreover there's only one slice of smoked salmon?!?Asparagus & poached egg were nicely done. Rocket was a big let down, pure greens and no dressing or whatsoever, very dry. My favourite part was probably the ciabatta bread. Our mocha was okay. I think Tarts Cafe should do something to improve their food quality, food presentation and venue ambience. Otherwise they will struggle to beat those new cafes in Perth. I wish them all the best. <br/>-------------------------------------------------<br/>One of the best Steak Sandwiches we've tasted. My Savoury Cake was nice but needed more sauce. Mocha had good balance of sweet and bitter, just right. Apple pie wasnt too sweet, very nice. Super friendly staffs, well done, folks! We had good time at Tarts Cafe today and will come back, even without Entertainment Book voucher :)

Fantastic ! great venue G.... Fantastic !<br/>great venue <br/>Good atmosphere and food
Ella.1886
Very Disappointed. Went here with a group of friends for breakfast and I found myself thoroughly disappointed with both the food and the coffee ordered. The zucchini fritter was verging on burnt on the outside whilst still being raw in the middle indicating that they had cooked it far too quickly, while the latte was served in a glass no bigger than a shot glass and half of it was foam. <br/>In addition a friend adapted an order to replace the egg with chorizo and was still charged the $2.50 for the egg. <br/>I will not be returning here any time soon, particularly when there are so many other breakfast places in Perth.
Lisa Fini
Very pleasant. Quaint décor and tasty food. Good choice for breakfast - well cooked eggs, bacon and mushrooms, good coffee and fresh bloody Mary's and iced tea. Friendly and efficient service.
Marlenacollard7
Stumbled across this place as we were going to sayers but ended up going to tarts instead and I am so glad we did. Not only were the staff lovely but huge range of food on the menu to choose from. We had the pulled pork bagel and savory cake, YUM! So good and coffee was great too, everything was reasonable priced. Definitely recommend.
Luxurious
Quaint coffee spot. Really like this place. It is nestled on a quiet street in North Perth/Highgate. Went there twice. The first time had eggs benedict but it wasn't as good as I have had elsewhere, just the way it was cooked, slightly over drenched with the hollandaise sauce. The second time I was there had the pumpkin soup which was very natural and pure as well as the croque monsieur which was delish. They have rather good coffees and cakes too. Will go again.
JC
Our order took ages to arrive, once it did it was incorrect and my dish was uncooked served with bread instead of toast. Our wicker table outside was so uneven staff had to find a good spot to put things down. Halfway through breakfast, the whole caraff of water fell on me, the staff didn't even notice. Paid the ridiculously expensive bill saturated. Overpriced, bad food, bad service, a pity we wouldn't return or recommend as I like the concept of the cafe, just poorly executed.

Delicious dinner!!. Always loved brunch at tarts but dinner was even more amazing. Well balanced, reasonable meals (huge portions) and excellent service. 3 of us shared homemade trio of dips and bread and warmed olives for an entree. For our mains - scotch fillet with garlic prawns cooked perfectly, seafood salad (so much delicious grilled fish calamari and king prawns) and organic quinoa chicken haloumi salad. All delicious - unfortunately we didn't have room for dessert but the cakes and slices looked incredible. Byo and licensed - $5 corkage. Kapai to the Christchurch chef! Thanks Tarts - will definitely be back for dinner soon.
Tanya Maria
BEST COFFEE!!. First things first....best coffee I have tried yet. Love going to Tarts for breakfast on the weekends. Great to sit outside and enjoy a cup of coffee and gossip with a friend. Biggest muffins I have ever seen in my life, and deliciously fresh too. <br/><br/>The only thing that bothered me was one of the staff members and there awful attitude. She is a younger gal, and treats customers like they have such a nerve to ask questions or for a table. This is of course just my observation. How management has not picked up on this poor professionalism, is unfortunate.
Lisa Irish
Yum!. I haven't been to Tarts for ages but decided to go for lunch yesterday. It was fantastic. Beautiful surroundings, great service & yummy food. I had the quinoa & haloumi salad, loved it!
MS
A little disappointed. While the food was still good the last time I went, I miss the old menu items and feel like the new menu has less on offer if you're going there for lunch. Breakfast is still okay, but I prefer Sayer Sisters just down the road; their breakfast menu items are far more interesting. It's disappointing, as the old menu was great!
Catherine Feeney
Food was delicious, but the service is terrible and the outside area stinks of manure.

Great Coffee!. Just found TARTS Café recently and we really love the coffee, and we found out that's because the Barista really loves her coffee too! We also enjoyed our breakfast there too. Place has a fabulous vibe and the cakes look so yummy too. <br/>The street has a Melbourne feeling about it too. Love it and will be going for more coffee soon.

Pretty Good. I heard good things about this place from friends a while back, and decided to try it for breakfast today. Its was pretty good and probably will be back again.<br/><br/>Pros<br/>- Nice decoration & atmosphere.<br/>- Good outside areas. <br/>- Quick service.<br/>- Good Menu.<br/>- Can accommodate larger groups<br/><br/>Cons<br/>- The music playing outside was rather annoying.<br/>- The incense burning was off putting while eating.<br/>- The waiting staff while friendly and pleasant didn't appear to speak fluent english and lacked a personal touch.<br/>- Not Full table service.<br/>- Little annoying details with the food, (e.g. soggy bread from water off the poached egg)
Vicki
Best Quinoa Porridge. Just had the best Quinoa Porridge for lunch, came with berry compot, yoghurt and nuts. Very nice vibe and atmosphere in the Cafe and very friendly staff. Will be back.
Petros
More negatives than positives. No one greeted us at the door, all wait staff just walked blankly past us. We had to find our own table and then go back and order at the counter. Some free tables out the back in the garden, but they are metal chairs in full sun. Not enough umbrellas out there, this would easily solves the problem. The wait staff are really rude, they clear one persons plate before the rest of the table are finished, making you rush to finish the meal. No sugar on the tables and the waitress took away our salt and pepper to give to another table, without asking and before we had finished using it. Food and coffee was ok, had better in Perth. Would not be back and so easy to forget.
Abby Stone
Best breakfast. Some of the best, well priced breakfast in perth. eggs benedict = amazing! on a sunny day sitting out the back in the garden area is really nice. french toast was a little too sweet for my liking.
Kerry O'Sullivan
Amazing Moroccan. Second pop-up dinner experience last night did not disappoint! Am a regular at Tarts, the only place in Perth that i can go and be guaranteed a good meal! but these pop up dinners are going one further. food is to die for and the service is awesome!<br/><br/>Massive thanks to all the staff and keep these pop up dinners coming and we will be there at every one!!!<br/><br/>if you havent tried Tarts, you're missing out! Get on down!
Jessica Coverley
Just enjoyed the most delicious 'pop up' Moroccan dinner at tarts cafe ! Each course had the most wonderful combination of flavours! Very attentive staff! Highly recommended!!
Alan Rogers
Went to the Moroccan Degustation. Sensational. Staff were fantastic even though if was very busy. Food was divine. Alas these Pop up dinners are going to be very popular so it will become difficult to get in.

FanTARTStic. Went last night..first time visitor to Tarts and I must say I thought it was fantastic. I have been missing out. It is a hidden gem. Great idea to introduce new flavours and themes to the cafe. The service from the waiters was top drawer. Food...interesting. Well worth the paltry amount they charge. Do yourself a favour and get down to experience Tarts. Coffee and deserts were brilliant, it's going to be one of my local haunts now!!! Just on the Brazil night, I felt for the staff at the cafe as they had a few tables (people who had pre booked) who were "no shows" I should imagine with all the food prep and everything the place would have just about broken even. Why do people do that. I would insist on "pay when you book" policy for these future events. Had one of the staff give us a chocolate ball "for the road" when leaving which went down a treat. If you haven't been to TARTS....get down there NoW!!!!!!!
Gem
Overpriced, even for Perth. Had breakfast with 8 others on Sunday morning and although the coffees were excellent, the breakfast was a let down. My "quinoa porridge" was the strangest interpretation I've seen at any Perth cafe; what came out was a tiny bowl of cooked, dry quinoa with spoon of jam on top, a small bowl of yoghurt and small bowl of dried fruit/nuts. Quinoa porridge should be a warm, gooey, inviting breakfast like the Precinct in Vic Park have done or Planet Cafe in Mt Lawley. At $17 I also expected more.<br/>I guess we were spoilt by having brunch at Moore & Moore in Fremantle the previous day which is excellent value for money and simply delicious.
Elainecfong
FANTASTIC breakfast!! Neptune, the Grande and Pancakes. Never tasted better poached eggs with pumpkin fritter. The grande was delicious and pancakes thick fluffy, the berry sauce was not too sweet at all. Kids loved the hot chocs. Coffee wasnt burnt it was perfect. Service was nice and friendly. We sat in the garden which was nice with the morning sun.
Nia
Food was terrible. I used to go to Tarts 5 years ago and found all of the food good.<br/>But today I went back for the first time since then for lunch and it was an awful experience :( <br/>I had a chicken salad with oily, wilting greens and cherry tomatoes that were well past their use-by (actually bitter!), and undercooked roast pumpkin. It had one pine nut and a few walnuts that were the highlight. It was really awful.<br/>The chips that I ordered for my kids were soaked in oil and were not crispy at all. <br/>The date and chocolate slice was completely dry and brittle and tasted 'old'.<br/>The coffee was good.<br/>I don't usually write reviews but I really am annoyed at the quality of this lunch. I should have said something I suppose at the time. I won't be going back again. I wonder what has happened there?
Hgreen
Great full breakfast. If you want a decent full breakfast, this is the place to come. Everything was spot on, including the mushrooms and the tomato. The poached eggs were awesome. Great coffee too.
Ana Davogić
Very pleasant surprise! Beautiful food, location and great service!
THE FORK
Nice setting, the location is a leafy little oasis of calm, compared to Northbridge. Food is ok, coffee acceptable. This place won't change the World, but it's a nice little cafe.
Diva
Diva. Went there yesterday with friends who are regulars,<br/>Coffee good - staff helpful but basically two of us couldn't eat our food,<br/>One was replaced but replacement no better, <br/>This is not good enough as going out is expensive and one needs to feel you get good value, Will I return? Well it's not on my agenda right now,<br/>Felt very disappointed, Food below acceptable standard
KJ
Poor value. Had brunch there recently and was really disappointed. Ordered the breaky bruschetta which cost nearly $18 and it was pretty poor. The bread was old which was basically the key part to the dish. Wasn't enjoyable to eat...probably wont be going back
Amy
This is our new local, and we probably won't be going anywhere else. Best breakfast I've had in a while, and exceptional coffee!
Rhonda_is_mine
Beautiful coffee and delicious pancakes! Really enjoyed the atmosphere and love the interior decor
HardToPlease
A favourite!. Great coffee and fresh, healthy lunch menu. Love the decor, ambience and knick knacks for sale. Service is accommodating and with a smile! I would recommend this above the other cafes in the area!
Jose
Amazing muffins and nice breakfast menu. It's a really nice place to relax and enjoy a good breakfast, a cup of tea or a drink. I've been there with my friends and we all liked what we ordered (Eggs Neptune, Eggs Benedict, Sweet muffin, Ice Coffee, capucino, Fresh Juice)
Sam
Awesome!. Such good brekkie. And so quick even though it was so busy. Lives up to all the hype for sure!!
JMc
Always good. Great coffee and yummy gluten free orange cake. The food and coffee at this cafe are consistently good.

Great but wait. Tarts has a great atmosphere and the food is good. I had the bacon bagel which was delicious. However popularity comes at a price and this is the time you will wait for service.

Average..... First time visitors today and we're disappointed. Food was luke warm and the pancakes pretty average. Coffee was lovely though but can't see why it's been voted the best breakfast.
FatCat
Good breakfast. Not sure that I agree with the posters on the window awarding this the best breakfast in Perth for 2012 but it was definitely enjoyable - nicely poached eggs, very generous serving of bircher muesli, friendly service. It's a lovely spot to sit outside and sip a coffee.

Had a great lunch, look forward to going back

Great food. Great evening out. Seafood risotto hard to beat.

I came to tarts with two of my closest friends. The place was so lovely with a vibrant atmosphere and the sweetest Italians working away with child like smiles. I ordered two caps and the grande with poached eggs. My friends ordered the vegan however they both added poached eggs (cheeky I know). My first cap came and I thought I died and went to heaven. Talk about quality! The were plenty of laughs, with tasteful, harmless humor. The aromas in the air made me salivate like one of pavlovs dogs. The breakfasts arrived and although my expectations were high, tarts didnt disappoint. I'll be back. Thank you tarts.

Happy customers. Booked a table for 5 in the garden today but the weather was bad so the staff happily relocated us inside even though it was a busy Sunday. Each one of us enjoyed our dishes and the service and atmosphere was great. Staff are friendly and attentive and the owner was lovely. This was my third visit and it just gets better. Top marks!

Horrible experience, delay with food and coffees, finished my main course before I got my Lattee quite unprofessional I thought
James Fisher
Muffin and coffee was pretty good - nonchance of ordering anything substantial as there was a function. Bit disappointed with that - but will be back to give it a try. Nice set up inside and out back

I've been here a few times for breakfast and have been won over by the fabulous coffee that has been perfectly roasted every time. <br/><br/>Today I enjoyed lunch with my parents. My dad loved his chicken hot potpie. So much so he wouldn't share. Mum enjoyed a chicken salad that was tasty and fresh. <br/>I enjoyed one of their signature spanish tarts and it was tasty and packed full of flavour.<br/><br/>The owner, Sandy, came over and introduced herself which made the service a cut above with her personal touch. The staff are all friendly too. <br/><br/>So glad this is my new local.
Angelsentosa
Bad experience. Service was bad - noone greeted us. we have to find our own table. after we got the table, noone came to collect the dirty plates and cups. we had to do it by ourselves.<br/><br/>food was average - we ordered the potato cake & egg norwegian. hollandaise sauce was really bland. the only nice thing is the bacon.
Lney Sveinbjrnsson
I wouldn't recommend this place. We ordered and waited half an hour for the food which arrived cold. Most appeared to have been prepared earlier as it was fridge cold, which wouldn't have been that bad if we hasn't waited 30mins for it. Staff seemed friendly but wouldn't go back because of the poor quality food.

Pleasant surprise. Tarts is a great little cafe tucked away in the surburban streets of Northbridge. While parking is at a bit of a premium in the area it is worth doing a few laps around the block. I met a friend at Tarts for coffee and cake around Saturday lunch time and the place was buzzing. I was lucky enough to get the last table for two, there is ample seating inside and out but because of the glorious weather getting a seat outside was not an option. The cake selection is great although it would have been nice if there were a few more gluten free options available. I decided on a date and chocolate slice and a soy cappuccino. Service at the counter was efficient although not overly friendly however our coffees and cakes arrived quickly. The coffee was just as I like it albeit a little on the small size, the cake was tasty but was a little dry so perhaps could have been served with a warm chocolate sauce to take it up a notch. The cafe itself has a great vibe, it seems to be a popular place which is a good sign. Although not somewhere I would go out of my way to visit again, if I were in the area I would definitely call in again especially if seating was available outside.

Expensive. A friend and I had lunch at Tart's yesterday. It was $18 for a serve of the gourmet salad - greens, pine nuts pumpkin and a very little cheese and one small slice of bread.<br/><br/>I had to ask for butter and some water.<br/>Yes the salad was good but at that price and with no service at all I will be going elsewhere for lunch!
Trust Me
Lovely hidden cafe. I love this place. They have a lot of variety of salads for lunch and their dinner menu is food for comfort but not heavy. If you come here I recommend the duck breast salad for lunch and for dinner the crispy skin salmon or lamb shank. And, for desert you must try the lemon tart.<br/><br/><br/>-----27 Jun, 2012-----<br/><br/>Must try dinner and desert.... Lemon Tart for desert...best I've had in Perth.<br/><br/>I've had the lamb shank twice and salmon fillet for dinner and I must say, I keep coming here for the meals because its so homely and on a week night the place is quite and is perfect for catching up with friends. The owners are super friendly too. I love this place!
Food_Hole
We come here often for breakfast because the food is fab. Potato head and Bircher muesli are definitely worth a try. The scrambled eggs with feta is also delicious. The male staff always seem cheerful and polite, can't say the same about most of the female staff...but food is great so who cares!

More please!. What a perfectly quaint restaurant! My boyfriend was recommended this place by a friend and it was far from what we expected in the best possible way! Wonderful service, complimentary entre, delicious food and very intimate ambience. We have been back since with friends and will be back again. Thank you for offering something sorely missed in all the hustle and bustle of Perth dining and cafe strips!

Had dinner at Tarts last Wednesday night and enjoyed every minute of the night. We were fortunate that the weather was mild and we could sit outside. Service was friendly and prompt and the food was as described and good value. Overall a lovely, comfortable, homely cafe where you can relax, importantly you can hear your conversation and enjoy good quality food for a fair price. Love it!
Rachel
Went to Tarts for Sunday breakfast absolutely delicious! Great fresh food, coffee and service. I'll definitely return for another scrumptious breakfast there were so many tasty options

What's all the fuss about?. Was really looking forward to my visit to this cafe! Had even pre-read reviews and was anticipating something very special! Well I was disappointed. I was there at 3pm for afternoon tea with a few friends for a birthday catchup. To be fair it was a hot day but is that an excuse for leaving a display cabinet full of very and I mean VERY limp salad garnishing savory stuff. Really unappetizing and totally off putting!! The sweet section of the display was ok and the lemon tart was nice but a little cream on the side would have finished it off. Some people may like all those bits of stuff hanging around that they sell but it all seems a little junkie to me. The girl serving was lovely but I doubt I would be bothered going back.

Perfectly Poached. Institution. That's how I've heard Tarts Café in Northbridge described before so how could I resist doing a review. It was a beautiful Perth morning; I ordered my poached eggs and coffee at the counter, grabbed the paper and took a seat outside.<br/><br/>My breakfast arrived and it looked promising. I buttered the toast and cut into my first egg. My heart sank. It was overcooked. 60-80 seconds less and they would have been perfect. Apart from this, everything else worked well. The eggs where incredibly tasty and fresh, so I'll give marks for that.<br/><br/>What I did get excited about was the bread. It was absolutely delicious. The right amount of toasting; slightly nutty in flavour, I could have devoured a whole loaf.<br/><br/>The one thing I discovered was the joyous marriage of rocket and egg; the contrasting softness of the yolk with pepperiness of the rocket. Definitely having that combination again. It really added a new dimension to this simple breakfast dish.<br/><br/>All up the service was friendly and 10/10 for the coffee.<br/><br/>Will I give them another go for breakfast? Sure, but maybe just Vegemite on toast next time.
Masterchef
Very Yummy!!!!!!!!. We arrived early Saturday morning and the place was buzzing, packed to the roof with people, but we found a table and we were off! The coffee is to die for, fast and served with a smile! I had the breakfast special - a HUGE plate of poached eggs, potato rosti, asparagus, mushroom and hollandaise sauce. I asked for some feta (btw their feta is to die for - so you MUST try it) OMGGGG Divine!!!!!! My husband is a chef who RARELY eats out or enjoys it when he does, and he was suitably impressed. So much so that we are going back with friends this weekend! Its quirky decor, friendly staff and fesh food are the things that will bring us back here every time!

Eggs Neptune. Poached eggs, smoked salmon, blanched spinach and hollandaise sauce on toast.<br/>My poached eggs arrived with solid yolks (one hard-boiled). A BIG no-no.
Thepinkhouse
Seriously worst coffee I have had in a long time. Burnt and bitter and undrinkable.

A must for Breakfast. Really good breakfast, nice coffee, attentive staff.<br/><br/>A really good option for breakfast in the Perth Central area.
Reboona
We read the great reviews and travelled out of our way to have breakfast here this morning. Unfortunately the toast with my eggs benedict was especially dry and hard and my spinach was watery, causing it to go cold. My partner's grande eggs were a bit oily and his coffee tasted burnt. Hopefully this is a one off any everyone else enjoys a better experience.
Blah
Consistently great food and service with attention to detail

Great local Cafe. Friendly, happy, good food, good service. Nice all around.

Nothing is too much trouble here no matter how busy, great food, beautiful coffee at ready to drink temperature which is sadly rare these days,
FoodieKitten
Have been a regular breakfast spot for me. Tarts has been pretty consistent in serving good quality foods.. They have a good range of breakfast & lunch menus! Their giant spinach & feta muffin is to die for... Especially toasted & have it with warm butter!!
Erin.hoey
Everything was fantastic. Intimate cosy setting, genuine, very accomadating hospitality by staff and delicious meals. We had a group of 9 and all meals looked and tasted sensational - at very reasonable prices too
Lillian
Lovely garden. We went here for breakfast this morning and were looking for something to help us recover from our big night, and so I had my heart set on eggs of some sort. Luckily, they had a good selection of different styles of egg on the menu and I chose the Scrambled Special, with feta, semi-dried tomatoes and spinach on sourdough and it was absoutely the perfect thing I needed. <br/><br/>A friend got simple poached eggs on toast and this was unfortunately not very nice and not worth the price of just a couple of eggs and some bread. The only other negative was that the mixed berry smoothie purchased by my friend was warm but it was so nicely flavoured that I drank it all myself and she didn't get to have any. <br/><br/>The outdoor garden out the back is so lovely and a really nice place to have some breakfast and read the paper in the sunshine. I would definitely go back!
Steve
Great coffee, but average food. We ordered the vegetable panini and raspberry freon which didn't taste very fresh.
Teagan
Great coffee. Had the brekky bagel and it was fantastic, latte was perfectly creamy - really lovely cafe on lake street. Cant wait to try dinner at Tarts!
The Face
Never been served a tart with mayonnaise? and then have to wait for them to chang it to cream. Slow service coffee was good great location

Great management!. We went there a while ago for a board meeting and they stuffed up our table. But... they were quick to apologize and sorted us out with another table super quick! I think when a potentially difficult situation is handled well by management, it shows the places true colours. Good management, no arrogance, no ego. They obviously cared a lot about their customers. We will be back!

Dinner at Tarts. Tarts Cafe has now opened for dinner so we headed along there tonight. It's a warm, welcoming space to escape from the winter chill, with some of the best food and best service I've come across in a long time. It was everything you'd expect of Tarts breakfasts and lunches, but taken up a notch. My only request - please dim the lighting by 50%!
Scooter
Decent. Tasty food, good coffee, nice atmosphere and pretty reasonably priced. I'd go back.

Yaaaa-hummmm!!!. Such a shame tarts is so far away from me, Went here for a birthday breakfast for my brother. Quaint little joint with odd bits of furniture and antiques here and there. Staff were super friendly and great at recomending breakfast dishes - all which were super hearty, fresh and tasty! Soy coffees went down a treat and second helpings were ordered. The staff bought out a chocolate muffin with a lit candle and we all sang happy birthday. Almost makes me want to move to north perth so i could come here for breakie every weekend!
Spanna The Breakfast Snob
Cute and trendy cafe and gift shop; perfect for a visit after a morning walk in Hyde Park. Have yet to sample the food; however breakfast menu looked good and service was friendly. Iced chocolate was generous and tasty and I will return. Visited during the week and was able to sit outside with my pram no problems.
Footecat
Just ok. Service was not very good. Watched several people have to clear a table for themselves when they arrived. I was there for over a half hour and the table they piled the dishes on was still there. Food was ok. Ordered a long black coffee and it came with cream in it, figure that out. When i was asked for cream i assumed it was to be with my cake. Would go again with others but wouldn't go out of my way for myself
LGFantastic
Chocolate Mouse & Coffee. Loved the little chocolate mouse however I almost never had him as I was served my second delicious cappuccino and was engrossed with my conversation that 3/4 of my coffee gone I realised I had no mouse !! Checked with the waiter and over came my decadent rich chocolate mouse. Staff are friendly but as it was a busy Sunday afternoon we had limited seating to choose from and it was rather noisy. The smoked salmon roulade & salad was perfect and fresh. Coffee is the best ever in Perth my friend raved about it and now I know why - will definitely be back again soon :-)
Haiko Saiai
Food+Coffee time. The food is great! Really gourmet and deluxe, but this is one the most pompous places in Perth! The people that go there are so up themselves it's hard to look at them, but with that aside the coffee is fantastic! I haven't had a bad coffee here, though I have only been there 5 odd times.<br/><br/>That's all I really have to say, except the seats are really nice and there is alot of space to sit, inside, out the front, out the back, wherever you like. 4 stars.
Cake Lover
I bought 2 cakes & 2 small egg tarts for take away. They charge me about $23, I was little bit shocked.<br/>All the cakes and tarts taste lower than average, very dry and don't taste fresh. Fancy look but over priced !!!<br/>I was looking forward to try their cake but very disappointed and I don't think I would go back again.
Dr Parks
Somewhat crowded and confused?. I walk past Tarts on my way to work but have never been there until today, when I met with some family for lunch. We sat inside, which was crammed with a profusion of tables, baby clothes and lingerie as well as Olio Bello and other product ranges. <br/>I was confused by the menu on the table and the food on display - apparently some people like to read and order, while others just like to point? I must admit, I thought that the display case was the standard fare, and the menu was something extra. The range of cakes and muffins is great, though, and the staff were friendly and helpful.<br/>I had the potato and bacon soup with a savoury muffin instead of bread. The soup was chunky rather than smooth, and was OK. The muffin was nice and complimented the soup.<br/>Not sure it will become a regular dining spot, but I might drop in for the odd gift at Christmas and birthdays.<br/>That said, the food looked inviting, and choosing a dish was difficult.

EXCELLENT Bircher Muelsi. An excellent bircher muesli and lovely staff. A pleasant experience, I will definitely be back!
Dining Dame
Don't Bother. Tarts used to be great. And now it's barely decent. <br/><br/>We have been going for years, and it's gotten steadily worse. The dishes are overpriced for the size and quality of the meals and produce, and an example of this is the two small pieces of cold sourdough bread that were served as my toast. My husband's friend eggs were runny on top, and charred almost black underneath. <br/><br/>The service is awful, with two surly characters running the show, and the floor staff are mosly pleasant but somewhat hopeless. Once, when having pancakes with syrup and cream, I ordered a serve of bacon on the side. The bacon was served balanced on top of the pancakes cream. I asked that the bacon be served on it's own plate, and it was returned to me in an icecream bowl with a big side serve of attitude. Simple requests such as 'no ice' or 'decaf' seem to be lost with in the kitchen. <br/><br/>The coffee however is still good. Grab a takeaway and keep moving.
IMHO
2nd visit was disappointing! Chai latte was still great but the mousaka was luke warm, the sweet potato was almost raw and the taste mediocre. Generous side salad but was missing dressing. The meal as a whole left me unexcited and just like the temperature of my meal... Luke warm!<br/><br/><br/>-----08 Jul, 2010-----<br/><br/>Lovely cafe. Great atmopshere - I went this afternoon around 3pm and the place was buzzing. <br/>Best soy chai latte I've ever had!<br/>The orange gluten free cake/muffin I had was also delicious - very moist and tasty! <br/>Can't wait to go back :)

Best eggs in town. Breakfast at Tarts is one of my favourite ways to start the day. They know how to do delicious creamy scrambled eggs, cooked and served at exactly the moment, and the quantities are generous. Coffee can be variable, depending who's on the machine, but mostly fine. Friendly atmosphere, good service.
Tayblast
My lunches was toasted to a brick, mum rook one sip of her coffee and this was after waiting ten minutes to be served because apparently the staff have too much to talk about.... My raspberry tart however was very tasty.
BeardlessNinjas
He says: coffee was rather nice. Spicy chicken panini one of the best I've had in ages. Sweets yummy but a bit overpriced. She says: Love the warm at and friendly staff. tarts are consistently tasty and served with super fresh greens. Coffee fairly good too. I'll be back again.

A tart for Tarts.... Now I have to admit I always order the same thing so this review might not give an accurate picture of this cute little establishment (unless you drink long mac's and love mushrooms with sour dough and pesto, that is).<br/><br/>Having said that I always eat off others plate and everything I've eaten has been delicious. <br/><br/>Very popular for weekend breakfast, but you never have to wait very long. Coffee is good, not perfect though. <br/><br/>Check out the darling mini cakes and the outdoor area.
Just Peachy
Spot on.. I've just finished my eggs Benedict, there's a smile on my face and my mouth is still watering as I sit in the sunshine reading the newspaper completely content. I was looking for a relaxed, lazy Sunday breakfast and this is an ideal spot. Perfectly poached eggs and home made hollendaise, pretty generous portions at a pretty reasonable price. Great coffee and super breaky in a busy, laid back little cafe. The selection of cakes and pastries has secured a second date for sure!<br/><br/>Peachy

Gone way down hill. This place used ot be great. Unfotunately, despite being busy for a Sunday lunch, the food was just plain horrible. Not only did we get the wrong meal the bread served with the steak was so soggy it was inedible. Yuk. Oh, & the coffee was served in a tiny cup. Give it a big miss.

Great premise on a leafy residential street. Pity the coffee is so inconsistent.
CocktailGurl
So cool. Great tarts, focaccias and interesting salads. Casual and relaxing.

A cool, casual spot for a one-on-one brekky or group coffee session. Highly recommended for price and variety.
The Ponder Room
The cafés been around for several years now and I still love it’s cosy feel, though I do miss the black and white striped awning it used to have. Aside from being a café they also provide a small range of gift ideas, like; jewellery, hand creams, candles, clothes, bags, jars of produce and other small gifts. It’s perfect if you’re running late to a party and forgotten to pick up something. But I was there for the food. Tarts Cafe tart © 2013 The Ponder Room On offer in the cabinet were bagels ($11.90), paninis ($11.90), tarts ($14.90), salads, and a large range of gorgeous looking desserts. I really liked the setting of the place... but not much else. Don't find myself wanting to go back unfortunately especially since Sayers Sister is just down the road serving much better fare.
Jemima Immink
Such a gorgeous, intimate setting. The host is so accommodating, water is always topped up, always asking if we needed anything else. We got some complimentary bread - was a real treat to feel so pampered!! So I can absolutely recommend going here for a really nice tea. You instantly feel welcome!
Kitstar
It's a nice little place...It was a lovely setting really for brunch.  Christos: $15.90 I ordered the Christos, described as "An avocado shell filled with sundried tomato, smoked salmon, rocket and marinated avocado on grilled asparagus spears served with ciabatta and a poached egg". Everything was there as described, and I don't know - maybe because these days I feel fussy, and stingier in my old age.  Yes it was all there, and it was fine, but ... it just wasn't all that exciting.

Heading into the Awesome Festival yesterday for a full day of shows I decided we needed a good breakfast before hand somewhere nearby. After seeing the milkshakes IDrinkMilkshakes posted on Instagram earlier in the week and giving them 9.5 out of 10 I thought we would give Tarts Cafe in Northbridge a try.

We had an enjoyable dinner at Tarts. Hubby is still amazed at the efficiency of the chef!

The most unique characteristic of Tarts is the range of giftware available from teas from T2, gourmet sauces from Simon Johnson, one-off pieces from local fashion designers, great travel and homeware books, sweet smelling body lotions and a great range of locally made jewellery are all for sale. A word of warning – if you find it hard to leave a shop (or cafe for that matter) empty handed, only take enough money for your coffee or food as the bits and bobs at Tarts are irresistible. If you’re not careful, coffee and lunch could quickly become a pricey affair.

I had been meaning to catch up with A on Sunday. I was being slightly indecisive with what to do so i left it up to her to choose, her response was "why don't we go to my favourite breakfast place, it's this little place tucked in the outskirts of northbridge called tarts cafe". I agreed on going there, normally I do as much research as possible before going to a restaurant but this time i decided to go to tarts without knowing anything about the menu. As i walked up to tarts I got the idea that this wasn't really a neighbourhood secret as the place was packed! We both got there and looked around for a place and luckily found out in the back section covered by beautiful greenery. I have to say that the setting felt like being in a backyard of someone's house in the best possible way. There is something else I should mention about tarts cafe, I have seen cafes and restaurants that are entrepreneurial by offering little knick knacks for sale, however tarts takes it to a completely new le

I’ve been to two work breakfasts now at Tarts ,Café in Northbridge. They have a great private ‘Boardroom’ out the back and it’s a really lovely venue for a small group of around a dozen folk for an interesting over breakie chat about the outlook for the economy or currency strategy as it was on Tuesday morning. On my first visit I had stuck with my staple of poached eggs on toast with a side of mushrooms and it had been good but I decided I’d mix it up with some different for my return visit.   And that’s when I saw them on the menu. Pancakes. Hard to resist pancakes and at work breakfasts (where I have the luxury of ordering off the menu) I tend to go for a more sensible eggs on toast combo. But I threw caution to the wind and decided pancakes are the way to go. I was excited! All the more so when meals started to arrive. While other’s egg choices did look good clearly my pancakes stood out as a solid selection, three decent sized pancakes with a generous pour of maple syrup and toppe

We had a false start this morning at another "new" and apparently "trendy" cafe in Leederville, which I am scarred enough from my 5 minute experience I doubt I'll ever go back. Luckily Bambino's brother-in-law 'DC' was quick to suggest Tarts instead! I am

...delightfully beautiful coffee and their mochas and hot chocolate comes with chocolate buttons - melted chocolate goodness instead of the chocolate syrup.
Conor At Hold The Beef
I really liked my meal, it was a great combination of textures and flavours. The ricotta was so thick and creamy, the mushrooms earthy and almost meaty, and pesto tasted freshly made and not overly oily, and the rocket was fresh and crisp.

Very aptly named, Tarts Cafe has a lovely feeling of nostalgia when you walk in with all kinds of things in the place… from jewellery, to magazines, to greeting cards, this place kinda reminds you of home… it certainly reminded me of the places I visited
