It really does blow my mind just how fck&ng incredible this place is! The food really is mind blowing, every couple of weeks my wife and I come here and the consistency is exceptional from the friendliness of the staff to the quality of Perth's best pasta - yeah I said that!
Yummy!!! I ordered the porco Rosso and my husband took the carbonara. Both were so delicious and my 2 year old baby loved eating both too!!! It's a cozy place and I would love to go back there again. Would recommend to any pasta lovers
First time here and I had the Porco Rosso and Carbonara, Omg that first mouthful took me to heaven!!! I was so impressed! Excellent and friendly service and a super cosy feel, what an absolute gem of a place!!! Myself, my fiancé and kids will be coming back regularly for sure!!! So blown away, seriously wow!!!
Delicious, simple menu. Wonderful service. My 7 year old son said it was breath- taking and he will bring his son back here one day!!!
Very well seasoned and perfectly cooked spaghetti. Produce all tasted fresh and the vegetarian options were creative and very tasty. The creamy broccolli pasta wasn't super creamy but it still had amazing flavour. The fresh bread they provided was delicious, would definitely be heading back there again!
Delicious food! Would definitely come back. Friends had the kangaroo spag and another had the carbonara which they all loved. Had the spag with the meatballs - delicious! Place is a bit small but we booked in advance and were able to get a table.
Great place for delicious pasta, tucked away in a little laneway. Had the Kangaroo Bolognese and didn’t disappoint! You know you’ve had good pasta when you finish every little bit!
Food? 5/5
Service? 1/5, and the star is from the lovely waitress in the white top/black jeans/blonde hair who came to the rescue.
On the otherhand, the waitress with the all black with their hair half up and down ignored us the entire night.
She kept asking us “how many” and left us waiting in line.
She got us to finally sit down at a table which got free but despite walking past it many times did not clear our tables nor give us any menus.
We had to ask someone else who made the rest of our night pleasant.
Getting to the food, very very good spaghetti.
We tried the rosemary chicken and the poletti 5/5.
Next time we will def want to try the brocolli and squid one.
We waited for around 30minutes despite it was arounr 8:30.
There needs to be a more efficient way of table turnover.
Overall, not in a rush to return anytime soon. If so, will try come on a weekday night as soon as they open.
We came here on a cold stormy night, and it did not disappoint! It was soo delicious, friendly staff and great atmosphere, the house red was tasty but served cold which was weird.
Highly recommend!
We didn't want to stop eating. Perfect. 4.5 stars!
The guys have this hidden gem just right. Great food, great vibe, great ambience, attentive staff. You can feel the passion for food oozing. We had the Porco Rosso, Polpetti, Carbonara and a Rosè Pinot. Pasta was 100% perfect al dente. We'll be back many times. Italian food heaven. Good on you guys!
...
Had our first meal at Francoforte last night and was really impressed. I had the kangaroo and pork belly spaghetti which was amazing and my partner had the eggplant dish - very good. Service was very quick and very friendly. Will definitely be back, thank you for a great experience. 5 Star!!
By far my favourite pasta place in Perth. Every dish on the menu is awesome. I ALWAYS order the large (because it is too delicious to just get a small) and it’s seriously massive. BYO is obviously a bonus, eating in the laneway has a good buzz about it. Highly recommend!
Had the eggplant sugo with addition of the N'Duja! Eggplant was soft but chewy and nicely cooked. The tomato based sauce was rich and flavoursome, with the addition of the N'Duja, gave it a nice kick!
The pastas here are simple yet hits the spot really well. I would suggest grande serving if you want a normal sized serve you'd get at most pasta places.
Staff were lovely and we got some bread as part of starters which was good as it looked like it was quite busy so we weren't hangrily waiting for too long.
Came here as part of the Tre Amici deal and had the kangaroo and pork belly bolognese. Really flavorsome, however found the spaghetti was a little tough. Interior was quite nice and homely, however the blue plastic covering the kitchen was awful ahah. Overall pleasant experinece
Great food & atmosphere, staff very attentive and made sure our water was full. I had the kangaroo bolognese and antipasto for two, which I recommend.
This place does spaghetti and they definitely do it well. Always busy every time I’ve gone past, I was surprised at how great it manages to remain intimate and I liked how there’s ample room between tables. Vibe of the place was very cool and I liked the simple interiors and set-up. The service we received was wonderful and I really enjoyed my meal here - food was delicious, portion sizes left us super satisfied and prices are pretty decent, too. 4.5 stars 🤗
My favourite pasta joint in Northbridge. Great ambience. Constantly busy, but staff still attentive. Personally a fan of the pesto and kangaroo pasta. Is BYO and food comes very fresh.
Service was super friendly and easy to work with! Went with a rather large group but they really helped us so we could all eat together. Food was fantastic and would definitely come again
There are not many varieties here, mainly just pasta, but you won't be disappointed by their perfectly al dente pasta. For first timer, recommend: Guanciale Carbonara.
Came here on one of the weekend for dinner. This restaurant was completely packed. Food took a while to arrived. Had the guanciale carbonara and the pesto pasta. I prefer the pesto one more personally. Service was friendly .
Best pasta I have ever tried. I always get so excited about going here! I cannot go past their kangaroo and pork belly bolognese or their carbonara. Quality is always very consistent. Restaurant is BYO and you cannot book tables but if there’s a line, it’s totally worth the wait.
Great customer service ! Great pasta ! BYO which is always great !
The pasta was extremely tasty, my friends had the eggplant pasta and could not stop saying how amazing it was , I had the kale pesto and it was really nice .
Best part about this place is you can order a regular serving size or a large serving size, this is always a great option if you are feeling quite hungry or not too hungry.
Amazing food and service. Honestly the best pasta dish i've ever had (kale pesto). Really generous portions and fantastic value. Will be going back!
A nice cafe with lots choices of spaghetti. I was shocked that there is Kangaroo meat in the menu as this is the first restaurant I walked in in Australia.
Love this place, very tasty food and really affordable. Often hard to get a table but we are always willing to wait. Great that it is BYO but alcohol service would have made this place perfect.
This spaghetti bar is our family’s firm pasta favourite. We each have our fave dish, mine being the chicken and rosemary. The cured pig cheeks in the carbonara are just delicious!! We always leave happy, with the next stop being the waffle shop across the arcade or Chicho gelato across the road. Just perfect!
I was really excited to try Francoforte because I had never been before and had only heard wonderful things about this place. I studied their menu extensively and was so indecisive about which option to choose because it all sounded amazing (guess it’s an excuse to come here again and try all of their spaghetti options!) Prior to eating here last night, I decided to contact Francoforte via Instagram to ask which option they would recommend and they replied ‘guancilae carbonara’. Done! The decision was made for me. This option is actually an additional $7 as part of the Tre Amici experience. The servings sizes here was quite large. The guanciale carbonara was very indulgent with delicious crunchy cured pork cheek which added a lovely texture to the dish. I added cut chilli to the dish which made it even more spectacular. I was so full but it was so hard to stop eating.
Best spaghetti place in perth. Especially love the carbonara, its so creamy and rich in flavor. Overall, taste exquisite and definitely a must try place✨
Great little gem tucked away in an alley. Inside is nice and cosy with great lighting. We had the antipasto for two as an entree and it was he perfect starter. The Kangaroo Bolognese is amazing!!! I had the carbonara which was delicious but very rich - a small portion is best. Plus it's BYO and you drink your wine out of cute little cups, very Italian. Can't wait to go again
I really enjoyed the antipasto for two. The spaghetti with polpette was quite enjoyable, however the meatballs were quite grisly and tough. The spag was perfectly cooked (al dente) and the sauce was flavoursome. The antipasto came with this cacciatore sausage which was so delicious- flavoursome and juicy. The combo of roast capsicum, fresh boccicini cheese, cacciatore sausage and olives on bread was simply divine.
We dined here Saturday night. Friendly service, the food was quick coming out (despite a little wait to get in- worth it!) and the pesto pasta was delicious.
Friends recommended this place so we thought we'd give a try - we are glad they told us where it is as I am not sure we would have found it ourselves.
We sat outside and we enjoyed the décor and atmosphere. I had the carbonara which was nice (quite strong bacon taste) and hubbie had the chicken pasta. We both enjoyed the spaghetti and will return.
The staff were friendly and the service prompt.
Francoforte has never failed to disappoint, as long as you know what to expect. There's no booking system, no wine and no bathroom, and there's usually a queue of people waiting outside for your table, so it's definitely not the kind of place you relax and sit for hours in. It's get-in-get-out.
However, the food is delicious! The small servings are definitely enough for someone with a moderate appetite, and they have the best tiramisu I've ever tasted!
What a gem! We had such a great time at Francoforte - the pasta was delicious, the atmosphere eclectic and the service friendly and attentive. Awesome!
Great Italian place down little alley. Friendly service, started with anti pasto , nice green olives, peppers, artichoke and chorizo and bread. Then had the large size pork and tomato spaghetti, delicious and great serving. Will be back.
Splendid little joint, a firm favourite.
Pasta dishes and antipasto from light-to-hearty. Not expensive, service is casual and friendly. BYO a real boon.
Tucked away in one of Northbridge's lane ways, Francoforte is an unassuming little restaurant with a deliciously limited menu! It's definitely one of those places where what you see is what you get.
While all their pastas dishes are delicious, I loved their carbonara with it's cured pork cheeks! I think it's simply the best dish out of the lot!
Downside: the premises is small and not a lot of seating. It's ok if you're going out with a small group but probably not if you have too large a crowd. The dishes are also, while delicious, not too filling and abit on the pricey side for just a "simple" pasta. Also, could with more cheese! You can never have too much 😝
Lovely meal on a balmy evening sitting in the arcade. Pasta was spot-on, delicious and well balanced. BYO at $4 is reasonable, and rare for eating in the city. Prices were high for the smaller portion size or I'd give a resounding 5.0.
I would go just to have the porco rosso sausage by itself. The spaghetti itself was meh. The boyfriend found the carbonara disappointing.
Service was average but prices were good.
Amazing kangaroo bolognese! Sauce was very flavoursome. The spaghetti was al dente! Absolutely love it!!! Totally satisfy my craving for a good spaghetti :P
Yum! I loved the porco rosso I ordered, pork meatballs with that n'duja stuff added. It tasted like Italy, the pasta was fresh and the meatballs were scrumptious. Squid pasta has never been a fav but those who ordered it loved it. The carbonara was lovely, creamy yet not too rich. The thinly cut crunchy cheek bacon bits were a great texture to go with the pasta and delicious. BYO for $4 a bottle was surprisingly cheap. Service was good. For the quality of food and portions served this place is steal.
Oh look if you haven't been here you need to hit it up for some killer pasta! I'm not a big pasta eater out because I feel like it can be a waste of money but the food I had here was worth every morsel! It was also actually relatively cheap to other pasta places! I love this little William street arcade! 4/5 only because there wasn't wine and I love a glass of wine with pasta! But that's OK :) I think you can BYO! Which we should have but I was already face down in my pasta! Me and my lovely friend got the antipasto to start start great value for money and extremely tasty! Then my friend got vegetarian eggplant pasta which she loved (great vego options). I had the Italian pork sausage pasta which was delectable! I wish the menu gave more of a description of what it was as well but otherwise this place was great! Wait staff are also super accomodating - shout out to the cool blonde chap and the pretty girl with the long hair and front fringe rocking the blue sweater. Definitely recommend this place for predrinks dinner with good company 💕💕
Delicious Pasta. Very authentic flavours. Great little find. Will definitely be back to try other items on the menu. Friendly and efficient service.
Just like your Nona made is what an article on Urban List (my go to food and entertainment site) claimed the pasta served at Francoforte tastes like! I am not Italian so I can not attest to the truth in this statement but I can say its damn good!. A friend and and I visited Francoforte last Sunday night and were surprised to see how busy it was! We were asked to wait for fifteen mins so we used the time wisely and wandered up to Lake Street to grab a bottle of red - Francoforte is BYO.
Good value dinner spot!
This tiny spaghetti bar is tucked away in a small arcade off William Street. We ordered a couple of salads and some pasta dishes. Before our food came out we were served lovely fresh bread with olive oil and balsamic which was a great touch. Our salads were fresh and crisp and we loved the sauce that came with our pastas but thought that our pasta was ever so slightly overcooked - soft instead of al dente. The staff were super friendly and we liked that we could bring our own bottle of wine.
A relatively small and hidden spaghetti bar tucked in one of the alleys of Northbridge, if you happen to stumble across this place on your travels, you're in for a treat. The small but modest menu offers only the best dishes it has to offer. My chicken & rosemary offered a perfect balance of tangy and a smooth creamy texture. The pasta was cooked to perfection as well.
Another one of my favorite go-to whenever I feel like Italian. The eggplant sugo and carbonara are just divine. It's a quaint little place hidden in an alleyway, but that's what makes it so special.
My favourite new Italian restaurant. These days to cook your own pasta taste better than eating out. Not anymore, try out this hidden gem in Northbridge, you won't be disappointed. I have been here many times and all the food taste good.
Quite like this hidden gem. Cosy Spaghetti bar in the middle of a lane way, fast turnover so it was pretty easy to get a table as they don't take reservations. Comes with complimentary bread which is great - not alot of places do this anymore. We ordered the Porco Rosso and the Kale Pesto. The Porco is basically the traditional spaghetti bolognese with pork balls - very light, simple flavour but still flavoursome. The spaghetti was cooked perfectly and I really loved the Pork balls that were meaty but juicy and tender at the same time - can tell they're fresh made. The kale Pesto was also bursting with flavour, it has a strong lemon zest to it - but the dish is quite light and easy to eat, which was exactly what we wanted. This is a non-pretentious place that does authentic, wholesome Italian pasta. Would definitely come again, but I hope they create more pasta choices in the future.
The best Carbonara that I have ever had! Better than my Italian Mamma I would definitely recommend and come back again. Thank you for a lovely meal
Been back again and the Carbonara is still the best in Perth.
Been here for dinner before and ducked in again today for a quick lunch. Simple tasty unpretentious food, reasonable price, lovely service and ambience.
Love the pig cheek carbonara and the porco rosso. Definitely recommend the N'duja mixed through - it sounds a bit weird on the menu (spicy pork pâté seems like an odd addition to spaghetti) but it's delicious.
I had the Chicken and Rosemary pasta which was hearty and comforting. Dale had the Guanciale Carbonara which wasn't overdressed or too heavy, which can happen quite easily with creamy pastas. The spaghetti is perfectly cooked and our only regret was not getting the larger serves!
I really enjoyed Francoforte. I really loved how the interiors were not overdone, just a simple fit out. My pasta was delicious. I had the kale pesto and it was cooked al dente. I also loved how they served complimentary bread with oil and vinegar. The host was so friendly as well. I would return!
The staff were more than happy to accommodate our extra-large office lunch group. The eggplant sugo spaghetti (vegan, without cheese) was excellent - the eggplant was beautifully cooked, the tomato sauce was rich and garlicky, and the noodles were al dente. A bit more eggplant wouldn't have gone amiss, but the piccolo serving of pasta was more than enough. A great lunch option for those in the CBD/Northbridge vicinity.
Every time I went to Superstar Waffles (opposite Francoforte) I'd always spotted this logo with three curved lines. If I had known it was spaghetti all these times I would have gone earlier! But anyway.
We came at 6pm and even then the place was starting to pack out. I'm glad we got a table outside quickly because 15 minutes into ordering and huge crowds of people start lining up for this place, and now I can see why.
The kangaroo bolognese pasta ($23 for a large portion) is just pasta done right. It's simple, fresh, tasty, elegant and when you're eating it outside in an arcade filled with places like Is Donburi / Superstar / Babooshka you end up with this real Italian street vibe, and although I've never been to Italy, I really think this is one of the best pasta experiences in Perth.
If you're seeking a quick yummy Italian feed, this is the place to go in Northbridge! My friend and I ordered the guanciale carbonara and the porco rosso. While we waited for our meals, they provided us with some bread and balsamic vinegar with oil which I thought was a nice touch. I love how the carbonara was quite traditional in using the guanciale meat rather than bacon and it didn't have the addition of cream. It was nice but I did prefer the porco rosso which was delicious and came with a generous portion of meatballs. Overall, the staff were friendly, efficient, the atmosphere is inviting and the food is good. So with good company, what more could you want?
We went here on Saturday night and it was packed, different to the weekdays evening which is a relaxing feel little restaurant . It felt a bit hectic at beginning as staff were really busy. And the kale pesto I wanted to try ran out. So we ordered antipasto, kangaroo Bolognese , and squid in vino. The squid one is as divine as usual, kangaroo is average. However I will try to order kale pesto again next time! Will definitely come back during weekdays maybe as I prefer sitting inside with nice lighting, wine, music and open kitchen feelings. Outside was a bit like street food area lol. Aww btw if u order grande u will get really good size of dish!
Great little nosh up place. BYO is a plus. Will be back. I don't think they make their own spaghetti but for the price that is fine. It was cooked well and the staff were friendly and service was efficient.
Delicious! Had the kale and sausage spaghetti, friend had porco rosso. Both really nice and simple but tasty. Service was really good. BYO which is great. Tiramisu was off the hook, not soggy at all and had a great flavour of real espresso. Prices were actually great compared to many other restaurants. It's easy to get a gluggy sub standard pasta dish for $35 at your average suburban italian, so I was happy to pay $17 for my plate. There are small and large serving sizes, I found the small was adequate along with the free bread/oil you get. The only suggestion I could make would be to use home made pasta as that's pretty much all they make, but I guess that would affect the pricing quite a bit... still lovely :)
I have been here twice though yesterday was the first time I truly had lunched with them after craving pasta for lunch.
I am a regular in the bars and cafes in the area where Francoforte is located. I love the area that they are located as it is accessible to the public transport and it is easy to find.
I find their menu pretty interesting as I wait for a table. I would never have thought to put game meat and interesting vegetable selections, like kale and kangaroo meat.
The venue was dimly lit but with appropriate light that I can see. the layout of the restaurant was pretty small with an open kitchen where you can see the chef cooking.
I came to the restaurant in a very relaxed time. The waitress was prompt to serve me and ordered quickly and I had a small bowl of Kangaroo Bolognese. The service was pretty quick and enjoyable.
My pasta came quickly, with cheese on top of it. The presentation was nice and the food was tasty with not a need for salt and pepper. It is a pretty lean meat with a strong and distinct aftertaste that not a lot of people enjoy. I went to eat this meat without prior knowledge on how it is eaten and how it is supposed to taste. However, the bolognese was enjoyable and palatable for me where I didn't complain. The sauce goes well with the meat that even if I were to be asked bout the spaghetti, I wouldn't have hinted much of a difference besides the noticeably sharp taste of the meat. I ended up finishing the meal with no qualms and no leftovers. I left with a happy face and enjoyed the meal with a banter with the waitstaff.
For what it's worth, it is pretty enjoyable experience to have lunch and dinner with these folks.
It wasnt in the plans to visit this place but Im glad that I did. I ordered the pasta with Italian sausage meatballs. Wow. I could tell that the tomato passata was homemade as well as the pasta. Great bunch of guys working behind the counter. Only thing, would have liked some more Parmesan at the table...
Porco Rosso + Squid in vino...............................................................................................................:)
Francoforte Spaghetti Bar keeps things simple by focusing on a range of spaghetti dishes with a few other Italian entrees and sides also available. I had the Kangaroo Bolognese which was really delicious. The sauce had lovely sweet tones from the tomato, a slight saltiness from the Parmesan, and some real kick from the spicy Italian pork pate, N’Duija. The N’Duija is an optional extra and recommended with this dish and I think it’s a must. There’s plenty of the kangaroo Bolognese which is mixed in amongst the tender well cooked spaghetti. Kangaroo has a gamey taste but presented in this dish as a mince, it’s not noticeable. If I’d known complimentary bread was offered I would have ordered the smaller sized dish and maybe had some room for dessert. Maybe next time!

Can't really fault these guys..cute little spot, perfect for date nights, food came out quick, and most importantly - simple, unpretentious, amazing food..no mucking around. I had the porco rosso and hubby had kale pesto, we both enjoyed our meal very much!
Had dinner here Friday night.
Walked in and got a table straight away.
Very rustic decor, with its exposed brick work and plumbing pipes.
Atmosphere had a laid back casual feel to it.
We ordered the bacon and cheese , the kangaroo bolognese and the squid spaghetti. The large size plates came in at $23 ea.
Food was simple and tasty. Nothing fancy. Had an enjoyable time. Service was good.
This is a place with minimal frills, unpretentious setting and tasty pasta. Those are all good things, by the way. This is the perfect place to come with a bottle of wine and a partner. Antipasto was fine but unspectacular, bread was really good and the pasta was delicious. We had a movie to catch so we couldn't stay for desert but service was good. Wine glasses (as opposed to tumblers) would be good and the tap water wasn't at all cold but these are minor quibbles. At $49 for the pair of us I'll be back again soon.
Kangaroo Bolognaise - absolutely in heaven. Great dish! You've gotta try it!
Reasonably priced, simple, unpretentious- that is how I will describe Francoforte. I have been here a few times, and the experience just gets better. Food is tasteful, service is prompt, servers and friendly.
Great cheap n cheerful gourmet spaghetti diner. BYO..Groovy vibe and peeps everywhere. Have been 4 times and will probs head down on the weekend. Love the fresh bread and oil..and the garden salad perfectly compliment the flavourful dishes. Yum.
My friend, Johanna, recommended this place, so we thought we’d give it a try. With a vague description of where it was, we rolled down the hill in search of the place. Hidden away at the back of a small alley off William Street, it was a bit like finding Platform 9¾ on King’s Cross Station, is this tiny gem that pumps out punchy sauces with spaghetti. This place is all about the sauce! I tried the kangaroo bolognaise with their recommendation of adding n’duja a spicy Italian sausage. And my dinning partner tried the kale pesto and she was highly raving about it too and wouldn’t let me try one bit! Wow wow wow, such pure delight and for the price, really great value. I will be coming back here often.
I'm such a huge fan of this place - especially the guanciale carbonara which is silky, fatty and just plain decadent! It's a simple place but with great flavours. I do think it's a bit disappointing how much the prices have crept up but at the end of the day I've always enjoyed my meals here. So yummy!
Second time coming here. The food and service is really reliable and good. Tried the porco rosso, kale pasta and squid pasta. All really good, especially the porco rosso. Price is very reasonable. Shame they don't offer any wines or beers.
Loved the simplicity of this place... Perfectly cooked pasta with delicious sauces. Tiny space so you may struggle to get a table on a busy night but the staff were friendly and very accommodating of a large group that showed up. Will definitely be back asap.
Tucked away place in Northbridge. Very good pasta with a decent range including vegetarian options. Wouldn't recommend for large groups as it is small, but perfect for date night. Staff are friendly and wait time is minimal!
Simple, fresh and honest. Can't compare it too any other place in Perth but sometimes small and intimate is better. Staff were pleasant and non intrusive. Always reliable as a go to
Very cute place, a perfect spot for a date or a quick meal before ducking out somewhere. We ordered the piccolo size and found it the perfect size if you were planning on dessert afterwards (which we were, of course :P). I had the much raved about Kale Pesto which was fantastic. Wasn't expecting it to be so zesty and fresh, and the sausages that came with it were to die for. The little dipping plate with bread and olive oil and balsamic vinegar was so cute! My only question was why no one has mentioned how good the balsamic vinegar that they have here is? It's so good. I wish I could buy some to use at home. My companion had the Porco Rosso which had 3 lovely meatballs. I think we both agreed what was best about this was that the pasta really had a chance to shine here, not drowned in too much sauce. It made the meal lighter and yummier. Really felt like home here, and the wait staff were so nice. Definitely going to come back!
Friday November 6 Lunch
Love the texture of the pasta ... So fresh
Love the flavoursome-ness
Love the portion sizing
Love the ambiance inside the restaurant
Love the outside tables (pet friendly!)
Love the quick serving time
Love the easy parking just next to the arcade
Loathe that it's so small.. Large groups will be difficult
Been wanting to try this place for ages so popped in for lunch yesterday. We had the kangaroo bolognese with the n'duja sauce added and kale pesto. Both dishes were excellent and I definitely want to go back to try others . Service was fast and helpful and the place is really quaint.
My parter and I love coming here. Francoforte has a lovely, cosy atmosphere and really good, honest food. I've had the kangaroo bolognese and the kale pesto and they were both fantastic dishes. Will be coming back again soon!
Casual lunch time spot with authentic pasta. Piccolo carbonara was just the right size for lunch and the pork cheek was crispy and salty. Kale pesto with cacciatore very different to usua pasta choice but taste good. Separate billing, good service, happy days!
Well if you enjoy yummy Italian food, refreshing taste then Francoforte well worth a visit. Simple good services and quick as well
Ordered the Anti Pasto share plate, Porco Rosso and Squid Vino.
The GOOD: perfect service, perfect spaghetti, no gluggy sauces, pork sausages were yum (could eat that by itself), squid wasn't rubbery, anti pasto had enough variety to get you started, fresh ingredients, each dish was well seasoned to max out flavour bang.
The BAD: not much, table a little small but that's just me ordering a lot.. again.
Eat here people. It's simple and it's great.
Being situated in the alleyway, noise wasn’t a problem at all even when the restaurant was bustling. Tap or sparkling water were the two choices that we received a minute or two after we sat down. Service throughout the night was top-notch and if I can say it was subtle-yet-sharp for a casual restaurant. Francoforte does laid-back quite well with the flattering lights and minimalistic decoration. As a provider of good spaghetti, I think Francoforte has fulfilled their mission!

Absolutely love this place. Perfect for those who like their pasta dishes a little healthier. I have tried most of the pasta dishes and they all deliver well. The smaller size is enough for me with room for drinks and dessert. Definitely try their tiramisu, I remember the waiter saying its homemade by one of the staff's 'nan'. Cosy atmosphere and the female waiter is so lovely.
Will be back to get my pasta fix soon !
"Pesto alla genovese!" I always say this and gesticulate with my fingers when I eat pesto so my dining companion knows that I have been to Italy.
Then I unusually sip some red and make a comment about their outfit - usually something subtle, like how I appreciate the hemming on their jumper etc. This is an infallible tactic. Second date- (((lock)))
The food here is great. Simple and delicious. I enjoy that the pasta has room to speak. It's not drowned in glug of a sauce which is far too populated. It's done right. I had the kale pesto. It was a verdant green, not unlike the colour of freshly mown lawn. It wasn't over seasoned, it was perfect. And was accompanied by a nice little serving of pig - of the sausage variety. Pink, salty, and nicely pan fried. Yes yes yes. Verrrrrrry good.
Great stuff.
Recommend for a casual date or maybe even for 'it's not working out' meal.
I had the squid pasta. So yummy. While the prices have gone up since the last time I was there, just like everywhere else, I had no complaints. The pasta was al dente. Remember to byo if you feel like a red with your pasta dish. I will be back.
Tried the kale pesto spaghetti and the seafood spaghetti! Nice fresh flavours, quick service, simple menu. Quite big portions even though we only ordered the small size. Can BYO to this Restaurent.
Writing a review just for the tiramisu, perfect amount of coffee and oh so creamy, great to share for two! The kale pesto was fresh, the chicken and rosemary had a rich tomato sauce and the kangaroo bolognese was nice too. Overall simple flavourful meals unlike the heavy sauces of most Perth italian places. Liked the pitted green olives in the antipasto. The interior is cozy with a hipster ish feel. Also the limited menu makes it unsuitable for large groups. The complimentary bread is a nice touch. I like that they serve two sizes, good to try different flavours.I love italian and to see reasonably priced Italian is fantastic!
Had the carbonara. Have to compliment that the texture of the sauce was good, its not the wet dripping kind. However for the price paid I would have expected more than just a simple looking spaghetti with measly bacon bits.
Generous antipasto plate for two and delicious hearty pastas washed down with beer and bubbly. Anything goes in this casual dining spot and plastic cups are the norm here.
My favorite pastas are the porco rosso and kangaroo bolognaise. Rich, intense tomato flavours... just the way I like it.
Good tucker at great prices! Worth a visit or two.
We noticed the waiter putting the board out as we were walking by and decided to stop for dinner. My wife went for a vegetarian pasta and i went for the sausage. Both came out quickly and were well presented. Then we tasted them.... amazing. Cannot speak more highly of the pasta here. I like the way they offer two sizes.
Been twice now and definitely recommend for some tasty, fresh spaghetti. I had the kale pesto both times because it was so good the first time with the sausage! BYO wines makes it a really reasonable night out too. Add it to your hit list!
Came here for dinner with my boyfriend and was overall very impressed with this place. We offered the carbonara and the chicken and Rosemary pastas. Definitely go for the larger size as we found out that the proportion of the small and large size was quite large. The small size was probably 1/3 of the large one and around only $5 more. They give complimentary bread which was a plus to begin and the pasta was very delicious. It wasn't overly creamy and the flavours were very nice. We also ordered the tiramisu which could of been a bit smoother but overall we enjoyed it. The value of money for each dish was so worth it, I would come back and try their other pastas.
This is the most yummy , honest food. Byo and a great atmosphere makes this one of my favorite places to go in northbridge/city. Can't go past the pesto pasta.

Went down on a Sunday night and there was a line of people. Apart from the wait for a table, everything was amazing. The antipasto was light and refreshing. The pasta was cooked perfectly, was very well balanced and could taste every aspect to each dish.
Worth the Wait. Headed here for a Friday night dinner. Let's get things straight; I don't queue. But once I saw the bowls of deliciousness coming out of the kitchen, I decided to make an exception.
We were only seeking a table for two, so after about a 15 minute wait we were seated and able to order quickly, as we'd already had time to check out the menu.
We both ordered small bowls, I got the kangaroo bolognese with the chorizo stirred through.
We both really enjoyed our meal, it was delivered quickly, tasted amazing, and the small bowls were just enough for us.
Service was friendly enough, good atmosphere but I didn't really feel it was somewhere we could linger - not with the queue of people at the door waiting for their turn!
So... It looks like I do queue after all.
Good Spaghetti. If you only do one thing, you have to do it well. My kale pesto was delicious and well balanced, and not too heavy as pasta can be.
Sitting outside, the service was quite slow. After waiting far too long my friend had to go inside to order dessert. I also take exception at paying for corkage when they couldn't even offer wine glasses, only tumblers for our wine.
That said it was cheap, tasty, and I would go back.
Delicious & Affordable. Shared two small bowls of Carbonara and Kangaroo Bolognese, $14 each, absolutely delicious! Cute atmosphere, very nice staff, food was ready quickly (luckily, because we were starving). The Carbonara comes with cured pigs cheek that melts in your mouth, and the Bolognese had a zesty hint which made it not as heavy/rich as many bolognese's often are (I'm also a sucker for Kangaroo, so I was sold from the start). Definitely recommend!
Kale Pesto. The kale pesto is delicious and fresh, the chorizo takes it to the next level of flavour. Big fan of this dish...I have it almost once a week!! (A large bowl Always!)
Spaghetti Done Well.. Went with a friend on Saturday night, I loved the decor and service. Properly priced and portioned, I had the Porco Rocco which was certainly good. I guess I just expected a little bit more when you specialise in just one thing.
Spaghetti Bar? YES PLEASE!. Every time I've walked past Francofote's I've been mesmerised by the delicious aromas of pasta and the beautiful dark interior. So on a whimsical decision, some friends and I decided to come here for a dinner. And boy! No regrets at all!
The cosy and welcoming interior invites you in on an endless journey for authentic italian cuisine and espresso's. The staff are super friendly, and the service is impeccable. We were seated right in front of the kitchen and it was interesting to see how they all worked around such a small working space, so shout out to the chefs and cooks!
Now onto the food. What can I say?
I'm a 5/5 advocate of italian cuisine, my undying love for pasta is equal to my love for pizza and Franco's did not disappoint at all.
Their portions are massive, even if you order their small/entree size! The blend of flavours are so exquisite you'll be dying to be back asap! They've got a pretty simple but impressive menu, and you won't regret forking out the low price to your bill after a dinner here.
I never got the chance to try the tiramisu because I was so full afterwards, but I guess that'll give me another excuse to be back.
If you love exquisite authentic italian pasta at a low cost, big portioning, friendly staff, great service and a beautiful warm and inviting interior I will highly recommend Franco's to you. You're welcome!
We will be back, again and again!. As an Italian I find it hard to get a good traditional plate of pasta outside my family home. I was excited to find, and try, Francoforte. Two size option is great for those who don't want huge portions. Spaghetti perfectly al dente, great flavour. This will become my monthly guilty pleasure.
Good, straightforward, reasonably priced pasta. I so wish there were more places like this.
If you love spaghetti and you love good food this is your place ! I've tried most dishes on the menu and none disappoint ! Truely yummy pasta !!!
The meal and service were both superb. Unfortunately I can't say the same for the people the table over. They continually complained about the volume and robustness of our conversation. The delicious food was undone by the nothing-people who didn't utter a word to one another the table over. The table of three had nothing of value to share with one another at any point, resorting to speaking about the surprisingly calm weather when the weather was not in fact surprisingly calm. I would rate their silence two-and-a-half-men-audience/10. Terrible.
Cheap and cheerful. If you're looking for a cheap but delicious spaghetti meal, I would recommend the Francoforte Spaghetti Bar. The menu is small but would cover all tastes. The staff are friendly and efficient and we were served very quickly. Its not the place you would spend the night socializing, but for a quick meal before a show it is perfect.
There are very few places such as this in Perth and by the way, the prices are extremely reasonable.
Its BYO also, which for us is an added bonus.
Lovely little hidden gem. They know what they do well -- and they definitely deliver it!!! Delicious, fresh tasting pasta dishes, good service and reasonable prices. Definitely one to check out!!
With two chefs in the family this was the lightest , tastiest carbonara I have eaten in a very long time. Not swimming in creamy sauce like others are. The squid pasta was just as tasty and with the large or small servings was perfect to try a few or share. This is definately the place to try and will be back.
Absolutely loved it! Very laid back casual environment, with great tasting spaghetti at an affordable price. Portion sizes were great too. Would definitely recommend coming here. Great first date material gents, and if all goes well you can get waffles directly opposite.
Pasta Perfecto. This place is a gem. My wife and I were in Northbridge and looking for a nice home style bowl of pasta, none of the commercial crap that they serve in the tourist places and Urban Spoon landed us at the Francoforte Spaghetti Bar. This little jewel is tucked away in a little aracde off William St and is a Melbourne style hole in the wall place. No frills, no wine list/only BYO, but good honest food at a great price. The pastas on the menu are a bit different from the run of the mill offerings but all looked tempting. My wife had a Carbonara with Guanciale (cured pigs cheek) and it was the most authentic version we have had in Perth outside a home cooked offering. Not a dash of cream in sight and the Guanciale gave the dish a really intense and authentic taste. I had a spaghetti with baby squid, spinich, chick peas, cherry tomatoes and anchovies cooked in white wine. This was a great combo and again thankfully no cream, but a monster mouthful of flavours and textures.
Grab a bottle and check this place out it won't dissapoint your mouth or your wallet!
Delicious. I ate here last week and loved it. I had the Porco Rosso and my friend the Kale Pesto...both were equally delicious, however, my friend wished she had a little more oil on her pasta... mine was perfect. We shared an Italian salad and this was fresh, crisp and the perfect companion to our pastas.
I returned again last night with a group of friends, we had to wait a while as it's only a small restaurant and it was busy. The waitress was very friendly and apologetic even though there was no need for her to be as we knew from the get go we would have to wait. We had to option to go elsewhere and decided not to. Again the food was great, pasta was cooked al dente. I had the Eggplant Sugo...yum!
I really like this place...It's not somewhere you'd go for a long dining experience but for cheap and tasty it hits the spot.
Great value. Such tasty and authentic dishes.
Great prices.
The entree serve is substantial.
Really relaxed and cute place. I love it.
Good place but food still can be greater. Maybe my luck which pasta was under cooked and under season but will come around to dine again.
Excellent spaghetti ever..I normally eat spicy food only but after I have tried spaghetti here I can say I am a spaghetti addicted.
My new favourite Italian restaurant in Perth. I came here for the first time on a Saturday night and chose the vegan spaghetti option; my friend chose an eggplant dish. I was very impressed with my meal, as was my friend with his. Vegan options are a good barometer of a chef's talent, as it is so often the case that when they leave out the animal the soul of the dish dies too. Not so with this dish! It was full of life and flavour (down to the chickpeas) with a beautiful balance of spices and greens. I hope they keep up the high standards. I will be back.
What a nice little find! I had cartdriver's pasta and my friend had porco rosso and they were amazing, I was quite surprised, the flavour was balanced, atmosphere was great and price was reasonable. Would definitely come again!
Best Pasta Bar in Perth. Was walking down William Street the other night after a movie looking for food, and even though they were packing up they were kind enough to say they would accomodate my order even though I saw the kitchen had closed. Really lovely staff and the pasta was the best I have had in Perth, rustic Italian that wasn't greasy and didn't make you feel sick no matter how much you ate (and I ate a lot!) The Chef really knows what he's doing and I will definitely be going back. Having Superstar Waffles across the corridor makes it the perfect Dinner + Dessert combo.
Seriously love this place! Delicious and authentic with really reasonable prices. I'm definitely going back.
Amazing. You can tell there is passion put into the food here. Wasn't particularly interested in getting the antipasto but my dad ended up ordering it and when it came out I changed my mind quick smart. It was nice and light with heaps of variety. The pasta serve as well was sooo good and huge as well. great value imo.
Al dente!. I've bemoaned the lack of good, reasonably priced pasta places in Perth for years - finally there might be a way to put a stop to my whinging.
We arrived on a Saturday night with just about everybody else who'd just left a show at the Fringe Festival...it was chaotic and both the kitchen and wait staff were struggling but i think the wait was worth it.
At $16 you would have to be very churlish to find complaint - the kale and lemon pasta was delicious (ate much more than I should and the entree size would have been sufficient in hindsight). The guanciale a little rich but equally moreish. Although a little light on the radicchio, the salad was perfectly dressed.
This was good value for what it was - a simple plate of well cooked pasta. If they can get it out onto the tables faster, they're on to a winner. Regardless I'll be visiting again.
Had a fantastic dinner at Francoforte with my husband and young son on our way to the Australia Day skyshow. Tucked away inside Williams Lane, this place is a hidden gem. Both the food and service were exceptional. Although the menu is small, there is enough to please even the fussiest eater (myself included!) We shared the antipasto plate and ordered three pasta dishes - squid fettuccine, kale pesto spaghetti and spaghetti with pork sausage - the pasta cooked to perfection in each case. The small size is more than enough for a light eater or a child, especially with entree. We also tried the tiramisu - a must if you have the room - so fresh, light and delicious. Coffee was great too! We can't wait to return.
Wholesome and affordable. 13$ for good plate of fettuccine (13$ small and 16$ larger) - don't be fooled with the small portions as they were quite satisfying. I had squid fettuccine and pasta was cooked perfectly . it also had a good amount of squid. We sat outside and we could have drinks from Superstar waffles delivered to our table too.
In terms of shop size and concept - this is exactly what Northbridge needs. Its very compact, trendy and with honest simple food - very urban.
Would return in a heartbeat.
This place is great, food is awesome. Staff are very attentive and it's good value. Loved my vegan pasta.
At the moment they're not open for lunch. I went here today & it was closed. The lady in the shop next door said they were only open for dinner until they get more staff for lunch periods.
Tasty and cheap. Generous servings. BYO but at $2 a person which I'm not sure was advertised.
Friendly, no frills pasta joint. A small group of us visited Francoforte for dinner and had no problems getting seats in this small establishment early in the evening. We were greeted with a smile and this friendly service ensued throughout the evening.
The prices were very reasonable, at $9 for an antipasto plate to be shared between 2, $13 for entree sized pastas and $16 for main size pastas. It's BYO and Tiramisu and coffee is also available for dessert.
The pasta dishes were really fresh and generally great value. The only thing we noted was that the 1 group member who ordered the pork sausage pasta only received 1 piece of meat in their whole dish. It wasn't a major issue given the pricing but carnivores may be shocked, so it would be useful to be able to 'add extra meat' for an additional cost, as you can there with chilli (+$1). We'll ask next time!
We will definitely be back to this little find.
Tasty pasta dishes and affordable. Went for dinner with friends and we all liked this place. I will be back again!
Fresh vibe, good to see an Italian restaurant popping up in Northbridge. Vegan meal was a delight will be my friday ritual. Waiters were prompt and accommodating
I think what Francoforte are offering is really commendable - a no frills, rustico pasta specialist offering very good pasta for a reasonable price in a central location. There certainly was a hole in the market and they have filled it commendably. They have some work to do in terms of getting their seasoning right, but overall Francoforte Spaghetti Bar was a satisfying meal.
I loved the outlay of Francoforte, with the exposed cement walls, dark timber flooring, dazzling fluorescent lights that skated the patches of grey. It was all very rustic and urban, like a modern New York apartment, or maybe a kitchen loft. Very cool. Along one side were stacks of tinned tomatoes, Roma Italian, just incase you forgot it was an Italian restaurant...

To start off, we were offered two slices of complementary bread and olive oil and balsamic vinegar dip. The bread was soft and fluffy and had a lovely crisp crust on the outside, marrying well with the flavours of the olive oil and balsamic vinegar dip. I had the Porco Rosso ($14 for Piccolo, $18 for Grande) which comprises of Italian tomato sugo, traditional pork sausage and Grana Padamo parmesan. The pasta was cooked perfectly to al dente. One bite of the traditional pork sausage and it was well seasoned, juicy and flavoursome. Overall, I thought that the Porco Rosso was delicious and has a lovely balance of flavours and is also well textured.
The cured pig cheek that accompanies the carbonara is deliciously fatty and moorish, working well with the perfectly al dente pasta. I can't help but smother my serving with extra parmesan - but it's worth the calories!
Likes: generous servings, tasty sauces, all pastas under $20; Overall: visit for no-frills dining and enjoy simple but tasty pastas

Luckily, our pastas were cooked al dente the way we all like it and the sauces were also nice and authentic. Our favourite was the carbonara because it was proper carbonara (like the ones you get in Italy and not the creamy carbonara) and it was very tasty. Eventhough the eggplant and sausage pasta had the same sauce, we all preferred the eggplant version better and we weren't quite sure about the squid pasta because it was a bit tasteless (we felt it needed some garlic, salt and chilli) and this brought the score down. I think this is the most authentic Italian pasta I've had in Perth!
I like this place a lot: the staff are friendly, it's got a lovely vibe, and we always feel well taken care of. I do find the pasta a little heavy and I'm not the biggest fan personally, but I know a lot of people who love it here so that could just be a me thing.
This pasta I had recently kind of had the wrong texture in the sauce, for me, personally. But we had great wine, great chats, and my girlfriend finished her pasta and my own! :)
Been there today before heading to fringe festival . A bit hidden in a lane at William st but good space still . Had eggplant spaghetti small n it was enough for me . Very tasty with a generous garden salad apart . Also they serve bread before meal. Small menu , desert was nice , but arrive early there cause it’s busy usually
Well presented spaghetti bar hidden in Northbridge with a fine menu and friendly service that provide dine in or takeaway.
For being in such a busy location, while inside you'd completely forget you're in the middle of the city.
Easy enough to walk in and find a table but I'd recommend booking just in case, which can be done through their facebook
Best pasta I have ever had. Their Kangaroo Bolognese and Kale Pesto were splendid 👌🏼
I had a small carbonara and it was a good size for me (not a big eater). Although it was $22 for a bowl of pasta it was delicious 😬
Went to a quick dinner on Friday early evening. My wife and I had different pasta dishes. Both were great. I had the eggplant suga pasta which was perfect. The price was very reasonable and the service friendly. Looking forward to our next visit.
Francoforte is fantastic. We've been here numerous times and it never fails to hit the spot. Their paired down, relatively-few-frills, spaghetti-focused menu is just the ticket when you're in the mood for a nice Italian meal out that's big on flavour and value. They've gotten a liquor license since we last visited and now offer a small range of well-priced wine that pairs perfectly with pasta.
