The Pork Belly was the best I have ever eaten anywhere, the food was small but filling and our server Tilly was the smile that tied the whole experience into a neat little happy bowtie. Shes a keeper.
dined at apple daily the other night, was close to perfect.....casual relaxed but bang on food and service...ricky you and your staff were gold..hadnt dined there for over 2 years but I will be back....especially for the bbq'd linley valley pork ribs with tamerind and chili...sticky fingers but bloody delish. cheers don
My partner and I dined there last nigh for a special occasion and were very disappointed. The noise of the music being played by the DJ was overwhelming. Who needs a DJ at dinner anyway? Service was perfunctory at best and food was average. We ordered the san choy bow which was mushy and the snapper dumplings which were bland.
Amazing place. Staff is great and we let the chef suprise us and wow, everything was so good, so much flavours. Pretty much in love with that place now
Went there for dinner on a busy Friday night, floor staff was very nice and greeting us in best manners, gorgeous cocktails and the food was absolutely delicious.
Well done to all the apple daily team.

Amazing duck buns, pleasant staff and lamb shank massaman curry was too die for!!! Will be back
Awesome place, great service and delicious food...must go back again soon.
I've been to Apple Daily 15+ times and it is consistently amazing. Service is great. Food is even better. And there is even an atmosphere on week nights. Duck buns are a must!
Love this place! Such a great vibe and most importantly delicious food 😋
Hands down the best restaurant in Perth.
Lovely ambiance and atmosphere. Staff were really helpful and friendly.
Food was amazing! The bao was filled to the brim with mince duck and pork.
The pork belly was crispy but the fat just melted in your mouth which was amazing and the salad was the perfect accompaniment.
The salt water duck was lovely as was the s&p squid.
The barramundi wings were not what i expected when i ordered them but was tasty and went well with the sambal and salad. Im personally not a fan of fish off the bone and hence was slightly disappointed but would still admit that it was
Very flavourful.
Overall a great experience and would definitely come back to try more of their menu.
Also their extensive bar menu is definitely a huge bonus!
Had a great meal here Friday night, highly recommend the “Feed me” option. A range of interesting beers available. Relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff.
I joked with a colleague that apple daily bar and eating house may be Perth’s chin chin with its tantalising Asian fusion food menu. After having been here I still think it has some way to go
Firstly it is a beautiful and very very large venue
With its indoor dim lighting and lots of red I would say it gives off a very romantic feel
Patrons however ranged from businessmen to groups of friends to couples
Everything is to share
Wines start at around 14 a glass - drinks menu definitely needs to be cheaper
Their smaller plates are not that small especially if you get their thrice cooked sticky pork belly which is tender sweet very delicious but probably share it with more people so you don’t clog your arteries
The red duck curry in contrast paled in comparison. Two tiny triangles of pineapple, two lychees, two cherry tomatoes (why twos) and two very organic lean looking duck legs in some watered down non spicy red curry. Very bland in contrast to the pork belly.
Expect to pay 30-50 per person
They do split bills
Quick service
Lovely ambiance and good menu providing large range of delicious Asian fusion dishes. The roti’s were perfect! Loved it and will definitely be back.
Very cool venue, busy, good service, unique drinks menu, and top notch Asian fusion cuisine. We went in a group of 5 on a Friday night and booked an early seating. We had the duck flower rolls, lamb massaman curry, chicken jungle curry, san choy bow, pork spare ribs and pulled pork pancakes which were all great. The beef satay was a bit hard, and the snapper dumplings lacked flavour. Expensive given the venue, but was a good night out and would visit again.
Most delicious asian fusion food taking some classic South East Asian flavours and making them explode with even more flavour. We shared 2 entrees and 2 mains between 2 which were perfect. Don’t hold back on the cocktails (Panda colada) Best dish was the beef short ribs served with a lychee salad which complimented it very well. Yum!
Friday night dinner rush so you can imagine the crowd. Great atmosphere, food was good - though pork ribs were bordering on dry. Pork and duck steamed buns had a generous enough filling, papaya salad was a decent size too. Pricing? Tad expensive but lovely service, location and overall happy dining experience makes up for it.
There is something very amusing about dining in an establishment that has a story to tell. Apple Daily offers just that. One of the four appointments at Print Hall, a dining cluster built in the former headquarters of The West Australian, Apple Daily promises to offer asian fusion fare amidst scantily lit passages and chinese newspaper walls.
While pork belly was the star of the evening, the accompanying nasi goreng, calamari, beef skewers and sautéed vegetables were prepared to the perfection of high end dining. The plating however stays true to a hole in the wall South East Asian eatery.
While the ambience and decor is on point, the food ranks high on the flavor meter, the staff are attentive and courteous, yet something is amiss. Perhaps the 'fusion' of flavors, maybe the red neon in the dining hall overly trying to impress, perhaps the steep prices for regular Asian fare.
Despite it all, I would definitely recommend Apple Daily for a fancy meal or a night out in the city.
Ordered the saltwater duck, jungle curry and beef short ribs. Foods were very good, reasonably priced and attentive service. Very romantic ambience.
Amazing food as always. Have been here many times and never disappoints. Micky’s roast duck buns are possibly one of my favourite things to eat in this world. The pulled pork pancakes were lovely and sweet. The beef ribs were beautifully tender and flavoursome. The jungle curry lacked flavour (and strangely chicken) but the drunken noodles were fantastic and suitably spicy. The service leaves a bit to be desired but I’ll always go back for the food!
Absolutely delicious. We ordered the jungle curry, short ribs, roti and one of the desserts which I forgot the name, the first on the list.
Amazing. So many flavours. The dessert was insane.
Not sure what silly ratings other people are giving just looking for something to complain about. This place is awesome...
Perfect dinner!! We had a late booking after the ballet 8:45 - and then we were a bit late - but they were wonderful and showed us straight to our table, no dramas. AND there were still other people dining! Great to find a place in Perth that has a soul after 8pm! The service was attentive and polite, the food and drinks scrumptious and overall we had a wonderful time! Thanks Apple Daily - I will be back!
Prompt service
Hot and tasty food
Asian Fusion flavours all around
I think the food presentation was a bit slap n dash...
Favourite was probably the Panda Bubbletea
Came here for my birthday dinner on a Thursday night. We ordered the snapper dumplings and beef skewers for entree, both were so delicious. The satay sauce with the skewers was good enough to eat by itself. For main we shared the lamb shank massman curry with roti and rice. It was massive and definitely enough to share between two. One of the best curry’s we have had. We had an entertainment book voucher which made this dinner really reasonable. Will be back.
Stopped by for lunch around 2.30pm and wasn't sure if they were open since there was no one at the front. Waited a bit and finally got the attention of a waiter.
The place is on the first floor of the old print house. There are booths near the door and tables on the other side, with old Chinese news papers for wall paper. It was quite an interesting decor.
They had an express lunch menu but opted to try their dinner menu since it had more interesting items. Went with the chicken ribs and the beef short ribs. There was an issue in the kitchen so had to wait a bit but got a free bowl of chilli cashews for it. The chicken ribs are amazing. I would have been happy with a plate of those and a bowl of rice. Crispy, sweet and slightly spicy. The beef ribs almost tasted like a rendang. Also tired the panda bubble tea but was a bit disappointed in the lack of pandan and coconut flavour.
Nice food and the portions are larger than I expected but they are a bit on the pricey side. Be aware that they don't do takeaways so try not to let your eyes order (which is really hard). Nice service and really nice food.
I have made 2 trips to Apple Daily since it opened and on both occasions it exceeded my expectations. The food is uniformly superb, the portions are generous enough to make the menu price seem a lot better when the plate arrives and it appears the feedback on here about over-attentive wait staff has struck a chord. A business associate and I attended mid-week and found it pretty busy. However, we were shown to our table and received a very polite explanation of the share-plate ethos. We probably over-ordered but there were some dishes that were just too good to pass up, or to not finish! We ordered the salt and pepper squid, which was cooked nicely and mixed cut tubes with legs. A great start. We followed this with the beef short ribs, which were fantastic and were balanced beautifully with a great Japanese-style coleslaw with prawns and mushrooms and what appeared to be a white wine dressing. The mixed greens with chili and soy were a cut above your usual veggies and then the saltwater duck arrived, complete with bao strips and sesame kecap(?) Heaven! Rather than opt for rice, we ordered a basket of grilled roti, which was a pleasant change and, in hindsight, a much less filling alternative to steamed rice. The décor, as you would expect for the Print Hall, is fantastic; the wine list is good but a tad pricey and as I said the service was attentive and not overbearing. A definite addition to my inner-city dining list.

I should start be saying how much we enjoy the food at Apple Daily – its Asian style street inspired cuisine is always on point, well priced and presented. However the last couple of times we have been the service has become a little less than it was on previous visits – not lax in any way, but attentive to the point of hovering. We felt rushed and this detracted from what was very good food – it is sometimes a fine line for waiters to be available but not TOO available.
I really liked the food here, it's not a cheap eat that's for sure but a tasty menu. We had the roasted cashews, chicken ribs, pork belly and jungle curry. I'd defiantly come back. Only gripe is the over attentive service. Felt like every 5 minutes they were over asking if everything was OK. To be honest I found that disrupted our conversation. We also asked for our leftovers to be packed up. The food was taken away and when we asked where it was we were told that they don't allow for leftovers to be taken. Yep, service needs work.
Cannot go wrong with Apple Daily. I have dined here over 15 times and they consistently deliver. The flavours and quality of food is great. My favourite is the duck buns, delish! Service is also great and that staff are happy to help with the long wine menu.
Dined here for the Chinese New Year banquet and entertainment. For $55 for a 5 course meal this was a must the food was fresh and tasty we had a shared plate with duck buns, wontons and spring rolls to start before moving on to a whole snapper, kung poe chicken and fried rice and ending with deep fried ice cream with a caramel sauce. The $10 Chinese inspired cocktails were also a hit. The only downside was there was no Chinese dragon dancers and games as advertised and the magician wasn't around for long, there was a 45 minute wait between entree and main but that can be forgiven. We can't wait to come back and try the regular menu. We recently moved from Melbourne to Perth and this place tops the iconic Chin Chins in Melbourne.
Haven't been in over a year. Service has taken a hit. Food still good, but the service really let it down. Didn't get offered a second drink, dessert or the bill after we had finished eating. The tables around us all had the same problem.
Will return in hope that it was just an off night for them.
Had lunch here a couple of days ago (and have been a few years ago as well) - 4 of us shared Penang Chicken Curry, San Choy Bau Pork, Micky's Roast Duck Buns and the Stir Fried Beef. Food was all delicious, staff excellent, knowledgeable and attentive. I'm not really a fan of the San Choy Bau - too awkward to eat. The Duck Buns were amazing. We're going back just for Duck Buns :) My only negative would be that the dishes are not large servings, so if you're sharing and big eaters you may leave hungry. Overall all of the food was extremely tasty.
Fabulous food! Everything was full of great Asian flavours. The must haves are soft shell crab, pad Thai, Penang chicken curry and pork ribs. The best Asian meal I have had for a long time. Well done Apple Daily🍾🍸🍽👍
Partner and I went to dumplings and DJs, which were the worst parts of the night.
The service was wonderful, particularly from the bartender, Sam I think, helped us choose drinks and guided us well through the menu.
Food was lovely, I do recommend the soft shell crab, the chicken wings and the duck buns most of all. They were very flavourful, I usually like my wings spicy, but with all the delicious sauce I didn't miss it. And I though the fried crab was missing some sort of sauce to cut through the heaviness, even just a bit of citrus over the top, but the meat was beautifully tender. The dumplings were quite bland, and I think over steamed.
All in all enjoyed the dinner, was nice but we were expecting something a little more clubby when we heard about it.
I was planning on going to the Print Hall for dinner, but it all seemed like bar food, so we headed upstairs to the Apple Daily Bar and Eating House, located on Floor 2 of 125 St George's Terrace, Perth CBD. We weren't sure on how much food we needed to order, so I went with my instinct and ordered a main, 2 entrees and steamed rice for 2 people. It was Monday Ping Pong Night so there were heaps of Ping Pong players using the ping pong table.
We ordered the rice ($2), Sweet and Sour pork, Micky's Steamed Duck Buns and the Beef Short Rib. The rice was a generous serving, enough for a family of 4. The sweet and sour pork was crispy and the salsa accompanying it was fresh and light. The sauce was tangy, and the pork was soft and moist. It was a delicious meal overall. The Steamed Duck Buns were amazing! The soft, white outside of the bun was perfect with the flavoursome char siu duck inside. Biting into one of these buns brought the savouriness of the bun and the saltiness of the minced duck.
The Beef Short Rib was drowning in teriyaki sauce. The meat was falling off the bone, and it was so soft. The teriyaki sauce was flavoursome, but just a touch salty. The sauce was so tasty to enjoy with the rice. For dessert, I ordered the broken cheesecake. I was a bit worried about this dessert as it was chai flavoured, but it was amazing. The chai flavouring really brought out the sweetness in the cheesecake, and the biscuit crumb was just a sugary delight!
We will be back :)
Funky atmosphere which I quite liked. Food was also ok, but really to call it "street eats" and charge $25+ a plate is a bit rich. Not a big fan of tapas but not the worst I've ever had. Would recommend for a quirky night out to try something different but I wouldn't be a regular here.
Located on the 2nd floor of print hall. Nice place. Opens till 12am which is a bonus. We had the fried barramundi salad, duck baos and pad thai and all tasted fantastic, especially the pad thai. As for dessert we chose the taro ice cream which is again delicious. Prices are a bit steep. Would definitely return.
I've got some mixed feelings regarding the Apple Daily, the atmosphere was unique and superb but the service and food was a tad too inconsistent.
While the staff were friendly the seating and ordering felt rushed and as a result the waiter messed up our order twice! The ribs were phenomenal but the duck rolls were definitely lacking. The stir fry beef was so good but sooo spicy (I loved it, but my partner was struggling 😂).
Will be back with a big group hopefully soon. Next time will spend more time browsing the menu.
Incredible food, the saltwater duck was a standout! Very attentive and considerate staff, really fun atmosphere. All around great night and I'll definitely be back!
I loved how tasty the food is. Dishes are a small and little expensive but the sort of premium that I'm will to pay for extremely satisfying food. Pork belly san choy bow were excellent and probably the best pork buns I've had in Perth. Really enjoyed the food here the only set back is the noise on a Friday night. We couldn't stay for deserts as we started to shout at each other. Definitely try the beef short rib and Phad thai !
Lunch today at the upstairs establishment in the Print Hall which is an Asian inspired street food tapas place. It was quite busy with families enjoying a shared lunch during the holidays. It’s casual in a classy building. Staff took me to my seat and offered water and the large menu. As it is shared menu I checked with the waitress to make sure I had a balanced meal for one. I went with the crispy smoked barramundi with seven herb salad. The drinks menu was huge so I asked the waitress her recommendation and she went to find out. She came back with a glass with a splash of wine for me to try. It was a perfect choice for spicy dishes; a French white that was crispy but slightly sweet.
My barramundi arrived quickly and looked vibrant and delicious. The barra was cooked perfectly and the sauce was wonderful, with equal measures of spiciness, sweetness and acidity. The salad gave the dish freshness and lightened up the punchiness of the sauce. I loved it, and my taste buds were in party mode.
I was still a little hungry and asked the waitress what she would suggest. I went with the salt and pepper soft shell crab with green paw paw, mint, chilli, and pea salad, and of course, another glass of that French wine! The dish again arrived quickly and looked vibrant. I loved the crabs were balanced with the slight sweetness of the salad. Another smashing dish.
Staff were friendly and happy to offer advice on dishes and gave good recommendation on the wine. The food was amazing and the venue is beautiful, this is a place that I will certainly come back to and bring more people I can try more dishes.
Brilliant Asian food. Love the feel and ambience of the restaurant. Nice drinks!! A bit pricey but they do a good job. Service is good.
I love the food here. Though I think the food here is expensive, they have great flavours in their food. The service is not bad here. Would love to come back again.
The food is an amazing collection of all good stuff from around Asia. Loved the easy sitting and casual eating style. Cocktails are highly recommended.
Fantastic lunch at The Apple Daily today. Turned up at noon - plenty of tables available, excellent service and wonderful food.
The restaurant's style and layout make it feel like a little Asian oasis in the middle of city's business district.
Three dishes is more than enough for two people to share. I recommend two with steamed rice. Micky's duck buns were excellent and the pork ribs to die for.
Cannot wait to go back and work through the menu.
I’ve long been a fan of all things Print Hall and have been particularly partial to the consistent deliciousness of The Apple Daily Bar & Eating House, their Asian shared plate style restaurant. Their Linley Valley Pork Spare Ribs are my favourite ribs in Perth. Just fall off the bone tender and marinated with such divinely flavoursome loving care.
Always enjoyed being here with a group of friends. Great atmosphere, various dining configurations to suit different group sizes. The food is delicious - Asian fusion tapas style. Top picks for the night was the Duck Buns, Kaffir Lime Custard and the chicken wings. They packs heaps of flavour into their dishes and the servings were decent. The Custard was really smooth and refreshing. The buns were generously filled with duck meat - wasn't too dry which is good. Service was good too.
Just perfect. Quality, fresh, great tasting dishes. Pork ribs are just amazing. Would definately recommend and visit again. Decor is also modern yet cosy. Expect $$$$
Friend said it is his favourite place so I gave it a go last night. The food is share food so you get a few dishes and everyone gets stuck in... Very Japanese (my experience). The cuisine is Asian twist and well prepared. Really heaving atmosphere, can get loud - full bar so you can have a lot of fun. Can get costly but has great combinations of flavour. Worth a try but not my favourite....
Went here for a quick dinner before a fringe festival show last Thursday night with my mate and we both wished we had more time to spend here! I loved the South East Asian style cuisine paired with the modern furnishing and beer accompaniments. We selected the sweet & sour pork, lamb ribs and the Char Kway Teo. All 3 dishes were tasty and all bursted with flavour. Initially we were a bit scared about the sizing of the sweet and sour pork but it was crispy, juicy and tender on the inside and overall very good. The ribs weren't your traditional BBQ sauce but had a twist and complemented the ribs very well! Finally the favourite of the night; the Char Kway Teo. The noodles were perfectly cooked along with the scallops, squid and prawns. It was nice that a chilli paste was on the side to allow you to make it spicier for those people with fiery cravings. The dish was a standout and we will be back. The service was also quite quirky and made the time there comfortable and enjoyable. Not to mention the beer special was grapefruit and super refreshing, which topped off a great time here!
I've been wanting to try Apple Daily for ages. Last Friday was the night. It was busy but fun and funky. So don't go on a Friday if you want intimate. But if funky food fast and tasty, cool surroundings, great WA wine and beer are your thang then give it a try. I would have given it a 5 if the soft shell crab hadn't had that overdone earthy taste. I'll be back.
Came for opening weekend and regular diner. Went down hill for a minute but seems to have lifted its game. Lots of "bro food" on the menu now, atleast half the menu is deep friend or ribs / slow cooked things.
All in all quite good but looking forward to a menu change.
Hands down my favourite restaurant in Perth. One of the most interesting menus I have experienced. Really cannot fault Apple Daily. Strongly recommend the teriyaki beef short rib!
I had a very lovely birthday here besides being seated so close to other couples that I felt uncomfortable having a conversation. My 'enter the ninja' cocktail ($18) was absolutely delicious with fresh kiwifruit.Someone next to us had a cocktail served in plastic that resembled a goon bag with cute straws to drink out of. Very interesting! There was also one served in one of the smallest martini glasses I have seen though. Our natural oysters were quite possibly the best ones I have ever had. ($4 each)Soft shell crab ($26) & saltwater duck ($24) amazing. The smoked crispy skinned barramundi salad ($24) not so great being very small and extremely spicy. I loved the Kaffir Lime Custard with lychee jelly & watermelon crush for dessert ($14)Service not bad because it did feel a bit pretentious.
One of my regular tapas hang outs. Nice relaxed atmosphere compared to the downstairs bar. They have an excellent wine and cocktail list. Typical modern asian food with great flavours, my only issue was they didn't have a lot of vegetable options. Couldn't really fault the food i loved the tamarind ribs and the roast duck baos. Service is ok but don't expect anything flash they don't often share a smile (if you care about that sort of thing).
Slightly let down by the service. We got in straight away for a table for 2 but it took a while to order each course. Cocktails were delicious, ambient atmosphere and food was pretty good. The short ribs were the best from what we ordered. The saltwater duck rolls looked cute, make-it-yourself-style, but were a tad dry. Pricey night but would definitely go back again
Thankyou, excellent fast friendly service, personalised with a smile. Very impressed with the GF menu layout, well done. We are coming back ! Try the outstanding Barramundi.
Nice ambiance and layout, plus attractive female wait staff. Food is good, but not excellent. Overall this place is worth trying at least the once. The best part is that it is attached to a bunch of other bars and venues so options for pre and post drinks are plenty!
I went on a double date here and loved the food. The waiter was good at describing the food options available and the staff were very attentive for topping up wine and water. We ordered the smoked barramundi, pork spare ribs, flat noodle stir fry, mussaman curry and duck pancakes. My favourite was the sticky glaze of the pork ribs. My least favourite was the mussaman curry - the potato was hard, the beef was in too big of chunks and the sauce itself was too overpowering with cinnamon.
MIND BLOWING!! I went in a group of 8 and the waiter recommended get 8 or so dishes to share. All the food was too notch. Some of the best asian ive had in Perth. The service was spot on. We didnt wait long for the food and the waiters were checking on us conveniently not too much. I highly recommend getting group of friends together and getting your mind blown.
The Apple Daily has been sat on my To-Go-List, since 2012. I only wish I had been sooner and spent the last three years, returning multiple times. I dined in, as a group of six during the week. Initially, I had my doubts, as the restaurant's menu is designed for sharing and this was a work related dinner, however the waiter recommended six to seven dishes for the table and he was spot on. It is a great experience to be able to share various dishes, in a group and I am glad we were able to experience this without anyone still being hungry, by the end of it.
Apple Daily's wait staff are highly trained and knowledgeable on what they offer. This may sound like a given, but I find this is not always the case, at other restaurants. The beer menu consists entirely of WA crafted beers and the waiter was able to match everyone's personal bottled beer tastes to a WA crafted beer that they offered, with an extensive knowledge on the composition of the beers and their tastes. The drinks menu is a booklet in itself; plenty of choice.
Service and beverages aside, the food was deliciously flavoursome. There was not a dish that I did not enjoy. The daily special of spicy wings was a hit, at the table, followed by the spare ribs. We ordered a serve of the pad thai, the stir fried duck, the Massaman curry and the stir fried green beans. I am not particularly sure why the dishes came with one serve of two watermelon slices (for a table of six), but they did (great for cooling the spiciness from the wings, curry and duck).
A bonus point to the bar, as well is that the dinning table was circular with a crescent shaped leather seating couch to form a booth. Great to keep interactions at the table open and close. No one got left out of the conversation and everyone was sat at an angle that was engaging, but not awkwardly direct.
Overall, I had a wonderful dining experience at The Apple Daily Bar and will most certainly be returning.
6 of us dined here during the middle of the week. Service was great and the food was exceptional. We just put the dishes in the middle and shared everthing we ordered as the waitress recommended when ordering. Would definitely go back
Type of Date – Cool/Romantic Date (Depends How Late)
Call Twice Wait Nonce (Bookings)
Unfortunately there is no bookings for this venue my wife never believes me when I say that! Buts its true trust me.
Do I Look Fat in This? (What to Wear)
Located on the second floor of print hall and by this stage when I say print hall you know to dress smart it’s not fine dining but you wouldn’t be caught in thongs or shorts there.
Care Factor (Staff)
Staff were fantastic, mind you we were the only people there that early but regardless explained the dishes and always looking to top up my drink. (Approx. 35 Minutes 4 Dishes)
What to Sell At Cash Converters to Eat Here (Price)
Probably the latest iPod they made you could get around the $100 and that’s what you’re looking at if you are wanting to try a few dishes with a drink
Winner Winner (Best Part of Dinner)
The Salt Water Duck! The buns were so soft you could sleep on it the duck was tasty and that hoisin sauce had a hell of a kick.
Ted 2 (Stay Away From)
Crispy Soft Shell, it was a letdown considering how flavoursome everything else was
Cork-age But I Opened My Own Beer? (Alcohol Situation)
Definitely not BYO! But drinks menu was quite unique, pricing was a tad on the more expensive by the glass but the quality was there. As long as I’m not paying $9 for a glass of bowlers run I’m happy
I’ll be back...- Insert Arnie Voice (The Final Verdict) -
The Apple Daily Bar & Eating House is exactly what you think its going to be. Its cool but in places romantic though the key to its success is through all the light and glamour the food has substance. So many hip places go all out on looks but lack the substance in food. Imagine a episode of Pimp My Ride, where they take a 1988 Honda Civic its falling apart but hey we can throw on some new paint and so many unnecessary TV’s with a fold out Tennis court, seriously if you do nothing to the engine it will break down two weeks later or you most likely get robbed looking that flash!. It’s a long winded way of saying that of course I would be back for any place that looks this cool and still pulls off quality is nothing short of pimping my taste buds
Mr M
This place is amazing. Been 3 times and it's yet to disappoint. Food is top quality, staff are great and the venue and atmosphere make for a nice evening out
Love this place! Even when super busy the staff are friendly and attentive and the food is superb every time. Favourite dishes are the soft shell crab and the pork belly red curry
Hit and miss experience at Apple Eating House. The ambience is a big plus. Great vibe they have created in this place. Dark and moody with clever use of the red neon sign of Chinese characters that throws a warm glow into the room. Nice.
Anyway. We were here for the food. The pork ribs were a generous serve of top quality tasty American style ribs. Excellent. Meat fell off the bone and the dressing was spot on. Dish of the night.
The duck buns were ok but needed a few more minutes in the steamer. The duck in my bun was still cold. I don't mean warm. I mean cold. Rookie error.
The salmon salad was yum. The flavours refreshing and perfectly balanced. Good texture and crunch from the roasted cashews and pork crackle. Enjoyable dish.
The beef ribs were chewy. Again, flavours were good but a few pieces of beef were at that point of not being able to be swallowed for being so tough. Unexpected at this level of dining.
The pineapple rice was good. Nice curry flavour and did the job.
Service was ok. Just ticking that hipster 'my only job is to take an order and give it to the kitchen' box.
Would I go back? Yes, but not in a rush. Worth a try to experience the cool vibe and those pork ribs but there are better and more consistent Asian food options to explore.
Set on the first floor of The Print Hall, Apple Daily has an early 1900's ambiance. The dim lighting and tucked away eating spaces adds to the relaxed atmosphere.
For dinner my husband and I ordered:
- green papaya salad
- pad Thai
- teriyaki beef short ribs
- whole fried snapper
- saltwater duck and flower buns
- Green papaya salad: authentic, just like mamma makes
- Pad Thai: rice noodles a lil chewy. Otherwise pretty good. Plenty of prawns ;)
- Teriyaki beef short ribs; delicious. Sticky. Falling off the bone.
- Whole fried snapper: probably the only dish that we didn't fancy. I would order this again, and I'd ask for the sauce on the side.
- Saltwater duck and flower buns: adorable presentation! The skin on the duck breast was crispy, not fatty at all. Maybe just a tad over. Unroll the flower bun while it is warm, place a piece of duck inside, and add some hoisin sauce.
If you prefer to chat and eat, maybe come a lil earlier, as it can get quite busy/noisy.
Would definitely recommend The Apple Daily.
Apple is awesome!! The food was delicious and the staff are so friendly :)
Came in for my birthday and they managed to seat 15 of us without a booking, thanks so much for the service
10/10 I will be back!!
Like a lot of the reviews on here, I agree the service is mediocre. Food is good though. The salted duck and flower buns are always a must. The beef cheek rendang was very good. The smoked salmon salad was very fragrant and tasty. I probably won't bother coming back in a hurry though. I think Barque in Fremantle is a similar concept and would rather make the trek there for a more polished dining experience.
Cool place in a great location. We managed to book a table once but have tried to walk in a few times, very long wait. Average customer service but the food was delicious. Great hang out before a night out!
Unforgettable night out for dinner we are very happy we chose to dine here, we had an amazing young lady Karen accommodate for all our needs she went above and beyond to get us seated at a table, we had unexpected family and friends coming out and wanted to join us though we were already seated at a table for 3 and did not expect to be able to change to a larger table being how busy it was, We decided to ask Karen, before we knew it she had organized a booth for us all we could not have been more pleased with the service, My husband an I have never ate out for dinner on a weekend in Perth an had such impeccable service she was amazing the food was like nothing we've had before two thumbs up. Thank you Apple Daily we will sure to be returning for more.
The food here is amazing! Came here with my girlfriend one night for dinner and I was utterly surprised and speechless at how good the food was. Definitely worth coming to for dinner! Though the only thing that did not sit well with me was that the food is quite overpriced.. and so were the drinks. But! In saying that, I cannot stress this enough, definitely worth coming to for dinner.
Dishes are on the extremely small side for the money they ask. My main gripe is 2 of the dishes on the entree section of the menu ended up being salads. If its a salad, say its a salad ffs.
The place is OK, there are better options in the CBD like Varnish, or Flour Factory...
Loved it! Had to wait a while as no bookings taken but I am glad we did. Amazing food and excellent staff! The taro ice cream was so delicious
AMAZING!!! Came here for my birthday dinner with my husband on a Friday night. Service was friendly, efficient and informative. Food was incredible - full of flavour and perfectly balanced. We had the Saltwater duck with steamed buns, pork ribs and crispy barramundi - these three dishes were so damn delicious! The White Lady Boy cocktail was seriously good. All round a great night! Thanks Apple Daily 👌🏽😊
Absolutely brilliant experience at Apple Daily. The guy who was clearly the manager knew what he was talking about, and the food was AMAZING! Wouldn't hesitate to recommend to my mates for a fun night out with good food.
I've been to Apple Daily on multiple occasions and am yet to be disappointed, The service is always good and the food is even better! Micky's roast duck buns are to die for, and the pad thai is simply delicious. They also have a great wine list and cocktail menu.
Impeccable service! Luke the manager picked a wonderful menu for us to try. Smoked barramundi, saltwater duck buns, salmon rice, pork ribs, short beef. All really good. Duck in particular was cooked to perfection. Desserts nice but would opt for another savoury dish instead next time. Wine menu is extensive. $230 for 3 people including wine.
The building itself is interesting and worth the visit. The staff are welcoming and efficient. The Asian Fusion share plates are tasty especially the oysters. However I had heard so many positive recommendations about this restaurant that I was disappointed as I didn't feel it was as good as it had been made out to be. Expensive for what you get too!
Visited for an anniversary dinner. Staff are extremely friendly and knowledgable and are great at helping you pick out some dishes and accompanying drinks. All of the food was fresh and extremely delicious. Can't wait to return and try more dishes!
Took a group of friends to Apple for dinner and drinks the other night and I'm so glad I did. The staff were great fun and knew their stuff about the wine, especially helpful with what would go best with our meals. The cocktails were beautiful and the food was delicious. We definitely didn't leave hungry. The crispy smoked barramundi, teriyaki short rib, and salty duck were a few of the standouts. Every choice was a good one and we will all definitely be back.
Apple daily is the best Asian restuarant in perth, their dishes are exquisite and their staff in particular their manager are knowledgable and very hospitable. I couldn't recommend a better place!
Fight your way through the pretentious suits. Go upstairs. You're not here for a long time. But good food good service. Well worth the effort.
We had our first visit to The Apple Daily last night with a group of friends and I have to say it was great.
Every dish was packed full of flavour and delicious, could not fault anything at all.
Great night with great food, we will
Be back again.
Had dinner here tonight with a few friends. Staff were top notch. Fast friendly and great service. Drinks came out quickly and the cocktails we had were delicious. And the food. Amazingly tender ribs. Crispy pork belly. And duck with these little flour rolls. Would totally recommend this place to anyone. Will be back for more very soon.
Flavour, fine food and fantastic service every time we go. Love it.
I went here for a Friday work lunch and we tried a lot of dishes on the menu and everything was delicious! I felt some of the dishes were a little on the steep side for the size but hey -- that's CBD fine dining. Highly recommend the chicken wings, beef cheek curry & the purple ice-cream dessert (I forget it's name sorry).
Tamarind pork ribs and trout papaya salad. Were very yummy. YUm!

Having been to the restaurant itself at the Print Hall in Brookfield Place and sampled the food they put up at the Gourmet Escape, this was a must visit stall for us! We had the Smoked trout, green papaya salad, herbs, namjim ($12) and the Chicken wings with narm phrik pao caramel sauce with puffed rice ($9). They did not disappoint! Yum!
Fantastic Asian , I hope to return soon.. Had lunch here today and the food was fantastic. Red duck curry was stand out, superb Beef rendang & an excellent take on Peking Duck. Went down beautifully with a dry Reisling.
Service was terrific.
I wish I had come here long before today. I hope to return soon.
Went again 13/11/15 and just as good as the first time. ============ A great start to our three day anniversary celebration!. Had a brilliant lunch. Shared three dishes: Crispy Smoked Barramundi with Seven Herb Salad (fantastic flavours), Char Kway Teow (recognisably traditional with a modern touch and great quality) and Saltwater Duck with Spring Onion, Flower bun and Hoisin (a refreshing modern take on Peking Duck). Washed it down with Harewood Estate Riesling (Porongorup), which was lovely but not really worth the $55 price tag. Wine list is extensive, exclusively West Australian, which was great to see but the wine prices are excessive like so many Perth restaurants these days.
Mmmmmm, ribs..... need I say more. Very tasty food and great service. Well worth a visit.
Yum!. I must admit I was a bit dubious at first glance of the menu, but wow, what a surprise. I'll be back! Smoked trout fried rice & the raw kingfish and the house limoncello were winners
Impressed. I popped into Apple Daily a bit early on Friday, before the after-work crowds hit the place. This was my first visit and I chose it based on the positive reviews. I was really impressed with the food, absolutely scrumptious barramundi with seven spices salad and the pork ribs were also delicious. Service was attentive, friendly, professional yet also relaxed. At a place like this, I like to see if the service staff are knowledgeable about their beverages. The waiter for my table was able to readily suggest some wines to match my food and I was convinced he knew what he was talking about. So I'm really impressed with this place and will definitely be back.
Went and had dinner last Wednesday. Loved the food! Also, the cocktails were amazing. The guy tending the bar was great, recommended some wine and cocktails to go with the food! Can't get over how good the soft shell crab and saltwater duck was. Service was on point, our waitress was always there at the right times. Overall best spot in perth! Defintely check it out.
Best dining experience that I've had in Perth for a long time. Rocked up without a booking on a Monday night with a group of six, immediately got sat on a fantastic booth and had the menu explained to us. Our waiter was a young guy who definitely knew his stuff - some great food and wine recommendations. The food came out in no time and all and the local beer and wine list was a definite plus. Will be back very soon.
Best restaurant in Perth!. I have been here twice and had two of the best experiences. Fantastic service, great wine list and the most INCREDIBLE Asian fusion food one could ask for. Food comes out incredibly quickly, is fresh, tasty, hearty and well-priced. It is a taste sensation! Suggest having a drink up at Bob's Bar first if you need to wait for a table.
My husband and I went to the Appke Daily for my birthday. We had a fantastic night. The cocktails were yummy (and strong!) and the service was great. We ordered the BBQ pork entree, my favourite dish of the night - perfect. The chicken wings were some if the best we've ever had. The spring rolls were lovely and so fresh. The mains were great too, especially the Char Kway Teow. We definitely ordered too much food though - be careful with this, as they don't do takeaway/doggy bags. We are definitely coming back!
So good!. Had a great dinner on a Friday night, even though the bar was super busy downstairs we got a table for two. Loved the duck buns and the crispy pork, yum! Great service too!
An Apple a day.. Hard to find a restaurant on valentines day? Well not here... No booking taken, so Valentines day walk in... $200 spent, I was quite... Too busy eating and with a dessert to die for!
This is a fantastic venue. Overlooking the very swanky Print Hall, I feel as though I'm in New York or London! The food is probably the best I've ever had. Delicious. And a great wine list too. The Apple Daily has a very energetic vibe, and good service. Can't wait to go back.
Great food and service every time! Take the waitstaffs recommendations, they always nail it !
On our two week trip to Perth this was definitely the best food and service we experienced. Friendly attentive service without getting in your grill. Food was excellent, highlights were the ribs (and I ain't a ribs kinda girl) and the yellow curry barramundi - although the barra could have skipped the deep fryer as the sauce was too good alone.
The bar downstairs could learn a thing or two about service from the Apple guys.
Recommended.
The absolute best service in Perth. The staff gave recommendations on food and drinks and were so friendly an absolute pleasure. The food was so fantastic too!
Very tasty!. Let them order for you and away you go... Good food and service... Fresh, tasty and scrumptious...
Went on busy Saturday night. Food excellent. Service was great. Waiter had excellent suggestions. A bit noisy, but very vibey place to be. Great night out!!
Great find. Went there for anniversary dinner with my boyfriend.
Friendly, helpful staff. Funky and distinct decore. A little noisy in the main areas.
Went with the waitress's recommendations - saltwater duck, kinilaw pink snapper and pork spare ribs (and steamed rice). The pork spare ribs were delicious! The other dishes were lovely too but the highlight for us was definitely the spare ribs. We would go back there for it.
With a mocktail, the meal came to ~$70 for the two of us. We were very full - couldn't have eaten anymore.
A downside was - the tables are rather close to each other so we could hear their conversation quite clearly.
Forget anything negative you read about this place- we went for a impromptu birthday dinner on a busy Saturday night at 930pm, we were greated by a lovely hostess as the door who said she would quickly find us a table!
Once seated our waitress ran us through the menu (definitely take their advice on what/how much to order). And gave us some great recommendations on reasonably priced wine!
Food and service was the highlight of the night- salt water duck was delicious, kinilaw of pink snapper (wouldn't have ordered it normally, but our waitress recommended it if we wanted to try something different) turned out to be my favourite dish!! Pork curry and the whole fried wish were delicious- fresh with great flavours.
As it was my friends birthday some staff sang happy birthday with the dessert which was a nice touch as well.
All in all exceptional, honest service- you can tell the staff actually enjoy working here, as they were surprisingly welcoming of a big group so late at night. I will definitely be returning and telling my friends to try this gem!
Like-lovely service, delicious cocktails (albeit at $20 ea, pretty standard price ??), good food.
Dislike-forgetting our wine, forgetting the papaya salad, forgetting the rice, forgetting the tea. One or even 2 forgets is a slip, 4 is sloppy.
Everything here is gluten free, except one dish. Dining here is a fabulous experience for us Coeliacs- I worry much less about cross contamination and the food and service is exceptional.
Surprisingly good. I was not convinced this place would be worth waiting or paying so much for. Had it written off as a cashed up bogan joint in our cashed up mining town. I was wrong.
I loved everything we ordered. The BBQ beef thai stir fry was the best I have ever had. I didn't expect it to be so flavoursome.
More positives than negatives. We came here for dinner on a Saturday night. Standout dishes were the tamarind pork ribs and crispy soft shell crab. We thought the mandarin braised duck was OK but didn't blow us away. The pickled cabbage it came with was a bit bland and chewy - could've done with more time pickling. We also had the yellow curry with barramundi which was a bit too sweet and and wasn't as flavoursome as we'd hoped. Can't understand why the barra was deep fried before being added to the curry - this just resulted in the fish being soggy. Poaching the barra in the sauce would've been better than frying it. The stir fried greens were perfect, crunchy and full of flavour.
Service was lacking a bit - when we were seated we had to flag down a waitress to take our order after 15 minutes. We then had to ask another waitress after a further 10 minutes for some water.
Overall, we liked this place but there were some negatives. Much prefer Kitsch in Leederville.
Had a great meal here with friends, the food was fresh, well prepared and full of flavour. Especially loved the duck with fluffy style buns, and the tofu dish! Will definitely return. Service was mostly good too
Very good.. Had a very enjoyable lunch here yesterday. The food is excellent - the pork belly in red curry was fantastic. All the dishes were packed with flavour, although you do pay generously for that flavour. The service was prompt and attentive, and the the staff were on their game with knowledge of dishes and recommendations. We ordered ribs, and were asked if we would like the 3 racks made up to 4 to suit the 2 of us. While this might seem minor, it's the sort of thing that is so often overlooked.
Looking forward to the next visit!
The food is amazing quality but te service is average. We ate all the curries before they brought out the rice to accompany it. We asked 3 different waiters before getting it at the end and only had the left over curry sauce to eat with the rice. Just think about what foods people eat together guys!!!
OMG!!!. Wow so many favorite dishes loved loved loved the soft shell crab, spare ribs and the most amazing Pork & Pineapple red curry!!! Jerry's Oysters were divine too cold fresh and meaty yum yum yum so worth the price!! Only downside was the whole fish too much flavor going on that it overwhelmed the dish but overall would defiantly recommended!!! Great menu Sonny dicampo
Worth every cent. Is this place expensive? Yes.
Is it worth it? Yes.
The beef salad was my favourite really fresh taste.
Everyone on our table loved the spare ribs.
Bang Bang chicken was to die for. The chicken is tender and again the flavours are just incredible.
The salted duck crepe was not at all what I expected, by far better than that.
The duck salad was also amazing.
The 2 desserts on the menu where also great. Wasn't sure how I would go with the black rice but I was surprised at how good it was. The Anise ice cream was the bomb
The cocktail offered here are great.
All in all it is a 10/10 for me. The food was awesome but what made it even better was the service we received.
Excellent food & atmosphere. The food is a little pricey considering the portion size however the quality and flavour makes up for this and is well worth the money.
The restaurant itself is quite quirky and the open plan layout is visually appealing however the noise from the bar below can become a bit overbearing especially on a Saturday night.
If you’re after a quiet dinner avoid this restaurant on the weekend.
Recommend and will return.
Dai-licious!!. My friend and I catch up regularly to try new or old restaurants, our last foray was the Polish Club in Beechboro, so this time we wanted to class it up. Initially we had planned to go to the new pinxtos place, but due to subcyclonic conditions, we bailed and ducked into Printhall, the only reason being we had no energy to combat the Terrace wind tunnel. So glad we were weather wussbags. The food was amazing!
The fresh crab rice paper roll was probably the only let down. The crab being indiscernable amongst the other ingredients. Apart from that, everything tasted so great we ate until it hurt.
In fact we were so into eating that we didn't realize straight away that I was eating with two forks, and my friend with a fork in one hand and chopsticks in the other. The cutlery arrangement is a holder tableside with forks, spoons and chopsticks. We had so many dishes we ran out of cutlery and had to use what we could.
We had soft shell crab, oysters, ribs, rice, snapper and the pineapple desert. And two rather tasty and inventive cocktails. Each dish was amazing, the stand outs for me being the soft shell crab and the lovely, light coconut and lime snapper.
The prices are standard Perth $$, but as everything tasted so great I can't complain. Plus the service was excellent
Highly recommended!
Love the space really bright and light with a people watching view to the print hall. Pad thai was the best ive ever had, so tasty with Devine morsels of pork belly. Pricey but great for a special occasion
Amazing food and one of the best and most entertaining waiters I think I have ever had. So accommodating for a big table on a Saturday night as well !! Will be back !
Must try in perth, super funky, great menu and fantastic service. The best part of print hall by far!
Ate here with 4 other. The food was amazing, had a white stout which was amazing! And the dude who was serving us was amazing, extremely helpful!

One of the best!. I almost skip past the Apple Daily Bar & Eating House upon my first venture into Brookfield Place on a Saturday night. Its entrance is tucked neatly in the corner of the massive (and gaudily lit) Print Hall. The entrance is also creatively decorated with a wallpaper of printed newspapers and adored with Chinese character scripture. Whirl up the stairs, past the double glass doors and the generous reception (there are three girls waiting to seat you beyond them) and there are several spacious leather booths, where we find ourselves for the night.
The ambience of Apple Daily Bar is dark and moody (lit by tall red candles in long glass cylinders), punctured by the chatter of the Saturday night goers. It has an extensive wine/ cider/ sake/ cocktail list and after much deliberation I go for a “sweet selection” dessert wine, the 2010 Castelli Estate Botrytis Riesling ($12 for 750ml). It’s dark gold and super sweet with tones of marmalade orange and a long finish. Great wine.
The food is so good. I’ve tasted a few instances of Asian Fusion cruise, but no place has done it better (so far) that Apple Daily. The first of the selection of share plates includes a dish from the “Street Food Snacks” including the Saltwater Duck, Spring Onion, Flower Bun & Hoisin ($24). The dish looks deceptively simple when it comes out, a Chinese bamboo basket containing four fluffy rose shaped man-tou buns, a line of sliced crispy skin duck and a little dish of sticky sweet hoisin sauce. The combination of the three is tastes like a variation on the traditional Peking duck, but the duck is deliciously moist with none of the acrid aftertaste you may associate with salt water. Very good.
The Bang Bang Chicken, Bean Spout and Vermicelli Salad ($24) is a pretty, colourful dish in a large bowl. The chicken breast is portioned off, sitting atop a large mound of the Vermicelli Salad (a combination of shredded cabbage, carrot, bean sprouts and fine white rice noodles) and decorated with a floss of green. It’s also peppered with slivers of long red chilli for lovers of all things spicy. The chicken breast is well cooked, not at all on the dry side and salad has a balance of lemony acidity and a hint of sweetness from an oyster-like sauce origin.
The BBQ Beef Salad, Fragrant Herbs and Nam Jim ($24) is another great dish. The Beef was medium-rare perfection, pink on the inside, juicy and melt in the mouth. The nam jim was the perfect addition to the dish an explosion of sweet, savoury, salty and sour flavours. I liked the addition of the cucumber, which added a refreshing crunch to the dish. Highly recommended.
The Pad Thai, Prawns, Sweet Pork & Chilli Jam ($26) was delicious – I had a small section of it, a assortment of well cooked flat rice noodles, large succulent prawns, an abundance of bean sprouts and a scatter of crushed peanuts. It was a simple dish with subtle flavours, a nice blend of salty fish sauce, tamarind, sugar, tart lime with heat from the chilli.
The Mandarin Braised Duck, Picked Cabbage, Sesame and Spring Onion ($34) was a decent dish. The duck came in large portions sprinkled with sesame, but it unfortunately lacked the sweetness associated with the listed mandarin and the duck was a touch on the dry side. The pickled cabbage contrasted well with the duck meat.
My favourite of the night was the Mae Roong’s Red Curry of Crispy Fried Pork & Pineapple ($30). The star of the dish was the cuboids of crispy pork, crusty skin and juicy meat beneath a rendered layer or fat. The curry was just mild, infused with pieces of chilli and the heady aroma of coconut milk. A few well cooked string beans swam inside the curry and gave it a splash of green. The mammoth cubes of pineapple are a fruity squash of sharpness cutting through the smooth creaminess of the curry. It was an overall winner across the table. Loved it.
The staff are knowledgeable and efficient. Glasses of water are expertly filled, wine bottles are replaced almost instantaneously, share plates are provided and food comes out quickly despite the large quantity that we order. It’s service that is congruent with the well-oiled machine that are the row of restaurants at the Brookfield Place precinct. In addition to that, the Apple Daily Bar & Eating House has seriously good food, complimented by a lively fun atmosphere (with a great soundtrack). After splitting the bill between a team of eight, the bill came to $35 – crazy cheap for what I had anticipated for a CBD favourite. Highly recommended!
Nine out of Ten Red Curries w Crispy Fried Pork
Great Night Out!. Fantastic food, friendly service and what a Beer list! I think I have found my new regular. The waitress/manager?? was very informative and seemed to know a lot about the local beer offerings (all on tap craft beers). The Pork Curry and ribs are to die for! Thankyou Apple Daily, I'll be back!
Great food, great cocktail and good service. Yummmmmmmm!
Pretty awesome food and great atmosphere. Felt like I was transported to an upmarket restaurant bar in Hong Kong. Will be back
I do like this place. Good food, menu updated regularly but they keep the more popular items on there (or perhaps it's just that they change up the least popular?), good wine list, great tunes and the staff give good recommendations.
A gem in Perth. I had high expectations and I have to say that I was not disappointed. First of all I have to commend the service. The staff were very attentive, we didn't have to wait very long for our food or drinks. The food was sensational. We ordered the soft shell crab and green papaya salad as a side dish. The soft shell crab had an amazing combination of flavours that worked well together. I really liked the crunchiness and texture of the crab. For the main we ordered the smoked trout and fried rice. Once again the flavours worked really well together and I liked the how the smokiness of the trout blended in with the other Asian flavours. We don't normally get dessert but we were tempted to try the plan sugar custard with black rice and fruit. I enjoyed the contrast between the smooth caramel, the crunchy black rice and finely diced fresh fruit. It was a lovely way to finish off the meal. We will definitely be coming back to try out the other dishes.
A great way to spend Friday night in Perth. Finally a decent place to get Asian food in Perth.
Get in early on a Friday night if you want to avoid along wait! Even still, the wait is well worth it! Pork Belly curry completely rocked my world but the Marron Curry was definitely a favourite. Phad Thai was so fresh, and the cocktails were yum! Service was lovely - we had a female waitress and she was very nice. The male waiter was a bit full on though. Went with a group of friends.
Just What Perth Needs. What a fantastic venue, staff are great and willing to engage their customers! Food is uniquie and delicious, not the run of the mill stuff.
Great variation of dishes, you will have heaps to choose from. Wonderful decor and interesting things to look at.
10/10 for sure.
If you after a great mocktail, try the White Lady Boy!!!
Brilliant Asian fusion. Went here Thursday night, and it was nothing short of brilliant. Fresh and Full Asian flavours. Fresh vegetarian rolls delicious, and the gaining chicken bang on with the satay sauce.
Definitely will be back ASAP.
Will be coming back again. After rave reviews from friends, we decided to check this place out last night. I was greeted by a lovely maitre' d who asked how I was, how my day was, and had a really great chat as she showed me to my table where my husband was already seated.
We were going to a show so let them know this and were told that it wouldn't be a problem to have our food out nice & quickly which they did!
The food was absolutely delicious; we tried the soft shell crab which was perfectly cooked; the steam green veggies which were a little heavy on the oyster sauce but still very tasty; and the pad thai which was absolutely delicious.
I would highly recommend this restaurant, both for the food and service!
Once seated, the maître d evaporated and we were warmly greeted by a lovely wee thing who was later responsible for our knockout cocktails. Once we got down to business I was delighted by the range on the menu and ordered the swimmer crab and the duck. Crab was a winner, shame about the duck. First time I'd ever sent anything back, a terribly awkward thing to do when your waitress is so lovely. Duck 2# came out and it was even drier than before. Such a shame paying big bucks for duck that sucks, but the overall experience was a nice one
Lunch at Apple etc. Third time in two months. consistantly gr8 tasting food and v.good service levels (for Perth). Phillipino sausage dish was great. nice and quiete for a catch-up lunch. Good to see that a collar, pantd ans closed-shoes decorum has been implemented - there are plenty of informal places to have lunch.
Surprising. After hearing a couple of negative things about price we went and I actually really enjoyed it. Yes, more expensive if you're comparing it to your local Thai but the food was different and exciting. Atmosphere a bit dark but service, including suggestions on what to try. Was surprisingly good overall.
Great food, good music, best service! That means you Ricky! Thanks for a very enjoyable evening
Simply OMG!. We went there last week 13/04/13. Haven't never try asian fusian food. We gave it a try. The entree pork ribs and raw fish salad was simply delicious.
The mains we had: pork curry, fish cook 3 ways flavours and duck. The taste was perfect, full of flavours and satisfying to the palate. Would definitely go back again!
My new favourite restaurant. Lovely fresh and tasty food, with a great wine list.
Great vibrant atmosphere.
Meals reasonably priced.
I can't wait to go back.
Food was pretty tasty but...
Don't bother going if you have allergies. They are unable to cook anything with alterations. Everything seems to be cooked in peanut oil.
The waitress offered to bring up food for our friend from the other restaurants, which was good. Except she took at least 20mins bringing her the different menus.
Nice. Food was very nice, very tasty, not bland. Service excellent. The only issue is value for money. Its quite expensive for what is supposed to be a casual cafe
An Apple a Day .... Caught up with some recently returned traveling friends for dinner here last night. They were running a bit late so me and the gf ordered a few drinks while we waited. The special that night was suggested and we gave it a go. Interestingly called "Spank the White Tiger" This cocktail was excellent and will hopfully be a permanent addition to the drinks menu.
The idea of fresh passion fruit pulp on the side and some white chocolate button to mix into the drink and create a fusion of flavours works surprisingly well! The gf ordered another cocktail with rock melon and some kind of Brazilian rum. This was quite nice also.
Our friends finally arrived and we proceeded to order some food. This is were we came across the first problem. Everything on the menu looked so good and we had heard great things about 70% of the menu already! After much deliberation we decided on (1-10 in order of personal preference) (1) Sichuan Pepper Quail, (2) Crispy Aromatic Duck, (3) Pilipino Sausages, (4) Tamarind Spare Ribs and (5) Crispy Black Pepper Soft Shell Crab.
YES! We all liked the soft shell crab the least! Everyone at the table that night holds a special place in their hearts for soft shell crab but alas last evening Apple Daily Bar failed to deliver in this instance. None of us could taste the crab itself as we all agreed the dish was way over salted. An unfortunate occurrence and hopefully a 1 off oversight by the chef that night. 1 star off for this.
Overall though from being greeted at the door kindly with a smile, to being shown to our seats, to a great drink recommendation and then great service to follow throughout the night, it was a very pleasant dining experience. So good in fact that all of us will return in the near future!
Great Night Out. Saturday night and the place was loud and pumping from a great sound track. We had about a 20 minute wait upstairs in the bar before our table was ready.
Good menu, not to big. Between the 5 of us we shared 2 plates of ribs, Braised pork belly, duck with steamed buns,a prawn laksa kind of thing and also soft shell crabs.Everthing we tried had taste and flavour.Throw in a few cocktails, beers and a bottle of wine and it worked out to $60 per head. Great value. The Service was first class from our cheeky blonde waitress , who new the menu and wine list inside and out. This place even impressed my hard to please brother in law
Yum Yum Yum. Exceeded expectations. The sticky ribs left me licking my fingers dry! The cocktail almost tempted me to licking the glass dry! The night amazing, relaxed, perfect, wonderful food, great service, wonderful hum in the atmosphere!!!! Will be going again and again and again!
Best service ! food was interesting and so tasty. my favorite resturant in Perth by far.
Great finger food. It's hard to find value in Perth these days, particularly in the CBD but Apple Daily offers great value.
They have an excellent menu to choose from. The menu is asian tapas style - really enjoyed the Pilipino sausages, ribs & pork curry.
The best service I have experienced for a long time.
Will definitely be back!. We went at around 7.30pm on a saturday evening after drinks at the main bar downstairs. Not acccepting bookings is a little odd but we managed to get a table for 6 quite easily.
The food was in general outstanding. We shared 4 small plates and 4 large, which came to $45 a head with a drink each, great value and we all left very full and satisfied. Highlight dishes were the pork belly red curry, bbq pork spare ribs, and the rare beef salad. Can't wait to return and try more of the menu.
The City is reborn. We love this new 'strip' of food locations; putting out Melbourne quality style and food. Love the decor here and well suited to groups of 4-7 for booth seating. Fairly good value when we ordered many plates which the 5 of us shared. Ribs were so good and we ordered more.
Will be back.
Great food great atmosphere and friendly service. I found the dishes quite expensive though like $20 for two pieces of tofu.
7 of us ate here on Wednesday night and this is what I found. The good: Staff very good, no complaints at all, food was beautiful, serves I was pleasantly surprised we're a very good size. Good atmosphere. The not so great but not terrible: Frustrated they don't take reservations as seating for 7 was an issue. One could have been mistaken the print hall is owned by Bella Ridge as the wine by the glass selection was Bella ridge or Bella Ridge. All in all, I'll be back. 8/10
Dinner last night with my hubby and 3 friends.. Wow! Incredibly helpful wait staff, amazing food and fabulous cocktails! Loved the music, pad Thai and Riesling on tap! Can't wait to bring my girlfriends on Friday night! I'm a Big fan and I will be a repeat offender
No bookings allowed but you can enjoy a drink downstairs in the print hall whilst waiting for a table. We went on a sat night and luckily no wait. In fact we were surprised about the number of free tables. Maybe perthites haven't heard about this gem of a place yet. Great friendly helpful service. They explained any meal you asked about and when feeling like a cocktail not on the list they happily obliged. Food is great to share with small or medium servings. Our favourites were the spare ribs which melted in my mouth and the xo clams. Sauce was delicious. Good atmosphere too we will def return
Apple a day? yes please!. I love that the apple daily doesn't take bookings and is open until midnight.. it is one of the few classy places in Perth that you can walk into at 9pm onwards and not get any dirty looks from wait staff for ordering a late dinner.. All the waitresses were friendly. Food was just as good as the food at print hall (fine dining restaurant downstairs) but more reasonably priced. Yes it is a little more expensive than your cheap chinese takeaway, but the food is fresh and sophisticated in flavours and a few of the dishes had unique flavours I had not tried before.. I especially loved the silken tofu, asparagus and mushroom- not a huge serve but so rich and delicious and filling when ordered with rice. The dessert of pineapple, young coconut and star anise ice-cream with pineapple granita was delish- the pieces of fresh mint leaves were a lovely complement to the dish
Getting there. Tuesday October 9 Dinner
Love the rounded booth like seats that can fit a group
Love the very informative waiter on what was in each dish
Love the deliciousness of the spare ribs.. quail.. curry... hiramasa..
Love that you can order wine from the larger PrintHall wine list if you ask
Love the super quick service of food
Loathe lack of general wine knowledge of servers - No sommelier was around
Loathe super dime lighting in one particular area
Give this place a couple more weeks.. it should be shining! :)
Only been open a few days, expensive food for what you get but no worse than anywhere else on Perth, staff a bit excited - four people tried to take our order. Nothing special food or service wise, although decor is great.
The short version is, the food was wonderful. Truly excellent. We had high expectations going in and they were met and exceeded. Well done, team kitchen.
Located in the middle level of Print Hall, Apple Daily serves a range of South-East Asian food. It is dark and bustling with tables located around the sides of floor, giving a great view of the bar downstairs. Lots of great cocktails were being prepared at the bar but we just came for some food! We ordered the recommended two small and one large share plate between the two of us. It ended up being a little pricey for a mid-week dinner. We had some Tasmanian oysters (which are always amazing inPrint Hall) the pork and oyster roll (described to us as a fried Asian sausage roll!) and the red pork curry. The pieces of pork were quite big and a bit difficult to eat with chopsticks. But they were covered in pieces of crackling, so I can’t complain too much? In keeping with the theming; Print Hall’s Asian restaurant is named after Hong Kong’s “Apple Daily” newspaper. The food, which is based on south east Asian street food, is designed to share.
It's an exciting time to be living in Perth if you're a fan of trying something new. It seems every week a different venue is opening up, attracting hoards of diverse and curious customers who all eager to find the newest and most exciting place to be. Print Hall very much seems to be leading the charge, with four eateries nestled inside this old newspaper house which has been revamped into a hotspot in the Perth CBD. The decor inside is beautiful; the restoration of the building keeping the structural integrity in place but adding new life and excitement. On our way to the Catch Me fundraiser at Wolf Lane where my extremely talented friend Elise was singing with the equally amazing Solomon Pitt, Jeremy and I decided to make a dinner stop at the Hong Kong reminiscent restaurant inside Print Hall - the Apple Daily Bar & Eating House. Named after a popular daily newspaper in HK, this menu has roots embedded in South-East Asian style food but comes with a price tag much greater than you'd
We decided to drop into Apple Daily for a late dinner. The Asian fusion menu is mostly tapas-sized plates which are best designed for sharing with friends .Likes: convenient location, tasty food, trendy spot inside Print Hall; Dislikes: servings too small for high prices; Value for money: average

The food at Apple Daily was delicious, now where should I start? We ordered all the street food snacks that our lovely waiter recommended and we were happy with all of them. He did warn us that the oysters were a bit salty but still really good and he was right, the oysters were indeed a little salty but they were plump, fresh and the nuoc cham sauce went well with it. The pork and oyster roll was really tasty and the saltwater duck was basically Peking duck with buns instead of pancake and that was yummy too.
