Review Bistro Bellavista - Perth

Rick Turner
5 stars for their food. 4 stars for their service. My partner and I were standing at the front for awhile waiting to be seated...or even acknowledged at all, for what felt like 5 minutes, at the same time multiple waitresses were walking past us and avoiding eye contact. The guy making pizzas at the front looked over a couple of times. He said nothing, a simple hello would have been something at least. It didn't feel very welcoming. However once we were finally seated that's when the night improved and we were pleased the meals arrived quickly and were delicious! The table service was friendly and polite. Although traditional restaurant etiquette is never clear the plates from the table until everyone has finished eating, unless requested to do so. Unfortunately when this happened one feels rushed and the waitress ends up leaning over me while I'm eating. Probably comes down to inexperience. But overall I highly praise the chef's, the food was fresh and very tasty indeed, great flavours! The wait-staff on the other hand just need a bit of fine-tuning.

It's been a while since we have been here and it's just as good as it always was. Delicious, tasty pasta and yummy desserts. Good wine and cocktail selection too.

The food was great !! Especially the Pizza we did not want the bacon in our Pizza so they offered to replace with Mushroom, the staff was courteous Beer was cold only reason I am not giving 5 star is because the menu said fresh strawberries with the Creme Brulee but I think I got a Jam of some kind

Excellent food but the restaurant was far too noisy. Prices and quantities were great but the noise will make us think twice. To be fair, most restaurants are too noisy to a degree. That doesn't make it ok though. Ultimately there is no point going out to dinner with others if you can't talk to them.

The pizza here is amazing!! Hands down one of the best I've had. Soft but crispy and thin crust and the cheese melts in your mouth! Place is quite expensive though so just check pricing and menu before going.
Paige Nelson
Food was absolutely beautiful and staff were very friendly. Hands down the best Gnocchi dish I have had. Yummy cocktails too. Definitely recommend!

Take me back!! What an absolute delight this place is. Alfredo and staff very professional and nothing is to much trouble. And the food? Absolutely fabulous. 11 of us. Quite a few had the steak which was top quality. All cooked exactly as asked no mean feat theses days. Some had fish which was lovely. Parmigiana which was huge. And pizzas to start with lovely dough. Only small complaint not enough tomato sauce on them? Desserts amazing, tiramisu,crème brûlée,ice cream and coffee very good. Can’t wait to return!!

Yummmmmy I would recommend to preordered and pick it up as they are very ontime. The chilli mussels is very big of a portion and very cheap. Authentic yummmm.
Nicholas Cadd
Amazing food- pizza was the perfect wood fired smoky puffy crust hand made in front of you - wood fired garlic bread and hand made pasta ! mmm! Entrees spot on too- couldn’t fault a thing - look forward to trying other parts of the menu!
Courtney Godden
Ordered a gluten free pizza and it was so yummy !!!! I’m always worried about eating Italian but I would definitely recommend for celiacs

What a lovely surprise. Came for date night and hubby and I loved it. A hidden secret. Enticed to try the meatballs for entree and yum. Margaret river chops were delicious and hubby loved the seafood marinara. Waitress was lovely and we found you in the entertainment book.

Great atmosphere with friendly staff, feels clean and fresh for families and friends. Gluten free options including the pizza and pasta, and you can top that off with gluten free beer! Thoroughly enjoyed our experience!

The first time back since the renovation and I personally love the new light and airy look. Decor is one thing but what has me returning is the sensational food, it never fails to astonish. I had the lamb tonight and it was cooked to perfection. We took some friends for their first time tonight and they loved it in fact one of our friends commented that they were the best arancini balls he had ever eaten and I heartily concur. Amazing food, awesome wines and sensentional attentive staff. Would have given 6 stars if I could
Susie Callahan
Omg this has to be one of the best Italian restaurants around , the chicken tortellini with truffle sauce wow was amazing Staff are very friendly , a great family friendly restaurant. Highly recommended, will definitely be back

Have had dinner here the last 3 nights, the food is so amazing. The staff are froendly and very efficient. Will most definitely recommend to friends and family. When I am in Perth again I will come eat here again.

As I was by myself I sat at a table at the back , up higher and had a great view for people watching, over the rest of the room. Busy, happy environment. The staff moved with lightening speed . The Manager had his eyes all over the restaurant . My servers were wonderful, big smiles, quick and helpful. And the food was DELICIOUS !

Always 5 star quality food and service consistently at Cafe Bellavista! Best Italian food and friendly service! My neighborhood gen - never fails to impress! 🎉🍾🎊😘🎁❤️👌

I missed the pasta there. It is the best pasta ever. The best services and best food. Love it
Jakub Gorski
Had an awesome night with our friends, the food was amazing, beer was extra cold and the service was top notch. We all had drinks, shared starters, main each, grappa shots and shard deserts for $64 bucks a head. Who said going out to quality venues was unaffordable! Great Italian destination, give it a try, you will not be disappointed.
Angelos Ftakas
I can positively say I had the best bruschetta and tiramisu of my life at this place!! The prawn pasta was nice also. Elena my waitress was fantastic also. Will def go back to this place when next in Perth .
Brad Waters
Great new look.. the staff as always are friendy happy. New woodfired pizza is great. Highly recommend this restaurant.
Candie Jade
Awesome new look guys! Since I moved to Perth I have been coming here! The service is amazing, the food is even better. Highly recommend.

Had such a wonderful family dinner @bistro_bellavista tonight. Thank you chef for making the special tiger prawn gnocchi for us tonight 😊 It was the highlight of our meal.<br/>The tiger prawn gnocchi wasn’t on the menu but I had seen it on a previous Instagram post. I’m so glad I ordered it. It had a beautiful shellfish broth, succulent prawns and the gnocchi was cooked perfectly 👌 . <br/>We also ordered our usual Chilli Mussels, Marinara Tagliatelle (which is my absolute favorite dish) and Pizza Prosciutto E Gamberi (my partners favorite)😍 We tried for the first time the Calamari Fritti which was cooked perfectly and super tender. Tagliatelle Al Ragu Di Agnello- slow cooked lamb shoulder pasta and Pizza Carnivora.<br/><br/>Overall a great experience, wonderful staff and atmosphere! We will be back!
Matthew W
Such a disappointing meal. Started with Arancini which was nice, but everything after that made me wish I’d gone elsewhere. We got a mix of tomato and cream pastas and both were entirely flavourless. Wouldn’t go back.
Milky Teng
Chilli mussels didn’t taste very good, maybe it wasn’t fresh. Everything else we ordered tasted just ok. gnocchi was very average and the sausage in antipasto was very very salty
Eptu
Ordered the spaghetti marinara and the seafood tasted a little unfresh. Sauce was nice but a bit on the salty side. Service was a little slow however staff were nice.
Laureli16
If you’re chasing good food and wine, this place won’t blow your socks off, but it’s good honest fare that knows what it does and does it well. It’s high on my list of good and reasonably priced Perth easts, and the staff are warm and welcoming. I give these guys a high 5😊
Kl
Spaghetti marinara, pizza gamberi, chilli mussels & tiramisu and a glass of Prosecco. Extremely busy on the Wednesday when we went! Remember to book. Quality local seafood is used value for money.
Just Another Foodie
Went to Bistro Bellavista with my partner and a friend who recommended it to us. I've driven past this place loads of times and never really been enticed in. But I'm really glad we finally did dine there because the food is really good. I had the duck ragu with tagliatelle and my partner had the lamb ragu. Both were really packed with flavour and the pasta was perfectly cooked, nice and tender with just a little bit of resistance. Oh...and freshly made pasta too I think. While some might think the serves are a little on the small size they were generous enough for us and left just enough room for dessert. A generous pot of chillies and another of freshly grated parmesan was brought to the table with the meal so we could help ourselves. Our friend had the 12 hour slow roasted beef cheeks which he said were amazing. For dessert I had the Tiramisu which was luscious and creamy with the lightest sponge and not too sweet (which suits my palate perfectly. My partner had the lemon sponge with roasted peaches. The sponge was deliciously light and definitely lemony but could have been a little moister. Our friend had the chocolate fondant which he was so impressed with he all but licked the plate clean. The service was really prompt and friendly. The cafe was completely fully and our meals still arrived in a very timely manner. My only slight criticism - and it is a comment I make in relation to loads of restaurants - is that it was a tad noisy. We'd all definitely come here again.  Hence the four star rating instead of five.

Fantastic food and service. I've been to many Italian restaurants and this is up there. As for the tightarse tossers that have a whinge about the $8.50 corkage, we were more than happy to try one of the many wines available. If you can't afford the $8.50 corkage the perhaps you should stay home.
Dbnaruto
The experience is so bad,There is something dirty in food。A very bad expeeience. A very bad expeeience. A very bad expeeience. A very bad expeeience.!
SweetPoison
Came here for our work Christmas party on a Saturday night. The staff were absolutely lovely. Food was delicious- accomodating to my usual fussy menu changes (coeliac). The restaurant was BYO and also in the entertainment book. Def worth a visit.
Matt
Great pasta and pizza, very consistent every time we are here. The gnocchi and crab pasta is delicious. Friendly service as well. And the best thing is you can byo
Info
The food was great. However...Zomato indicated it was BYO so we went to the liquor store next door and bought a moderately-priced red for under $20. When the bill arrived, we were very surprised to see a corkage fee of $8.50 given that we opened the bottle (a screw-top) ourselves and had no intervention whatsoever from the staff. It's as if we were taxed 50% for having the audacity of bringing our own wine. Would it have been different if we have bought our own glasses? Would we have had to pay $8.50 if we had opted for takeaway or delivery via Uber Eats instead and you found out we were also drinking wine (shock horror!)? Ridiculous and so last millennia.
Food Forever
Average italian food. Bad service though. Had to wait to pay then half way though paying the waitress went to go serve another customer, no apology, just arrogance. There were other waiters nearby but for whatever reason this waitress went out of her way to ignore us.
Yichen7387
Food is average but the customer service is horrible. We need to wait for 15min for someone to take order then wait for 10min to pay my bill. Also they don’t take eftpos card ! I’ve never been to a place refuse to take eftpos Visa gift card. What a joke! This place has gone downhill.
Freo Food Girl
Been here a few times now, consistent with their quality. They do get quite busy. Tagliatelle Bolognese is always a winner, a meaty sauce with home made pasta. Service is good too and not overbearing. Overall would recommend for an italian night out.

Went to this restaurant on a busy Saturday night. We ordered some pizza and chicken parmigiana, after 45mins of wait, our food finally came. Chips were still hot and crispy, pizza was full of cheese. We had their date pudding as dessert, it was well cooked, and the syrup was yummy! This restaurant provides great service as well, will be back.

YUM YUM YUM. So impressed with the quality of the pasta and pizza. Gnochetti sardi was so authentic, just the right balance of meat, vegetable and pasta. Oh so lovely!<br/><br/>Carbonara was not gloggy, it was delightful.<br/><br/>Renovated interior gives such nice warm atmosphere.<br/>Currently my favourite Italian resto!
Bethany Goodall
I came here for dinner last Saturday night with a friend. It was nicer than I expected on the inside and had plenty of parking and easy access. <br/>I ordered carbonara and my friend ordered lasagne, we also shared garlic bread. <br/>The garlic bread was delicious! Perfectly cooked and well dressed with butter, garlic and herbs. <br/>Carbonara was pretty standard and my friend said hers was the same. However the price and the service really made this evening a lovely night out. Adding on the entertainment book we paid $20 each for a great meal! After staying for a few hours there was no pressure to leave or order anything else. The whole evening made the outing 5/5. Give this place a go.
Ilovebeansprouts
👍 Pizzas - thin, crispy & crusty with delicious toppings.<br/>👍👍 Chilli mussels - Beautifully cleaned & cooked mussels, well-balanced flavours, with great consistency in the chilli sauce (like a pancake batter).<br/><br/>Pastas are a hit-and-miss. Have had the Aglio Olio twice on separate occasions and the second time we had it, spaghetti was quite dry and clumpy. Gnocchi is lovely though- soft and pillowy. <br/><br/>Desserts are simple, but nice. Great for people with a really sweet tooth.<br/><br/>Service is warm and friendly. Overall, a lovely place for a nice Italian meal with the family, or even just for the chilli mussels! 😉

Hard to fault Bistro Bella Vista. The service is fantastic, the dining experience lovely and the food is sensational. I will argue with anyone until I'm blue in the face that this IS THE BEST Italian food in WA!<br/>Servings are generous and the menu has enough variety in each of entrees, desserts and mains.<br/>Getting the food delivered is also a good experience although I'd recommend dining in purely for the service and that little extra oomph the food has coming straight from the kitchen.
Quality! It Shouldnt Be That Hard! Love A Wonderful Mouth Full Of Wholesome FOOD!
We ordered Uber eats we order two different types of arancini balls! And a 3 cheese pizza .<br/><br/>When the food was delivered I was so hungry. I was excited to see the two types of Arancini balls however they gave us two servings of the same ones. They where very oily and a little blend So i felt a little let down and ripped off!!!. <br/><br/>The pizza was nice had a lot of strong flavours. Can’t complain for the taste as it wasn’t as fresh because it was delivered. <br/><br/>Next time I’ll eat at the restaurant to see if the taste is much better!
Sandy
Used Uber eats to get food from here, unfortunately the bruchetta arrived soggy but he flavour was absolutely beautiful, we ordered some arrancini and they were not to our taste. They were bland, very starchy and just had a plain rice taste. The pasta dishes we ordered were okay, not great, if you eat the meatball on it's own it's very bland. The actual pasta sauce was delicious and the pasta was cooked well.<br/>Would we come to the actual restaurant? probably not, unless we wanted bruchetta but we found it too dear for what we got.
Peter R
$8.50 Corkage - ridiculous. There are better restaurants with cheaper corkage. Look for them and let this place know you won't go there with this corkage charge - vote with your feet

We’ve been here more than a dozen of times and never been disappointed. Recently, East Perth has had more Italian restaurants, and we’ve been most of them. This is the only place we go repeatedly. I prefer to have pasta over pizza, though their garlic breads are very nice. I recently found the Asian pizza chef’s pizza was nicer than other pizza chef. <br/>I like all their staff, they are friendly and attentive.

I went here on a Sunday for lunch with some friends to celebrate a birthday. The place was buzzing as it has also been booked for a large family celebration for a birthday, with most of the restaurant booked out. It would have been nice to know this, when we booked as it was hard to chat and hear each other at times. <br/><br/>The service was pretty good, especially for the number of people in the restaurant. We ordered some cocktails to start out with - espresso martini and then toblerone. We didn't order any entrees, just went straight to mains. I had the lasagne which was beautiful. The serving size was very generous and the salad that it came with was decent - not just leaves!<br/><br/>I would highly recommend coming back here and I am keen to try their pizza and parmi night.
PiquantD33
Great Italian food place. Many choice of pasta and pizza. Don't forget to try their desserts. However, when it is crowded, can be very noisy and difficult to have conversation without shouting.

Bistro Bellavista Review! 📌<br/>Food: Good<br/>Service: Fantastic! Super waiter! Service fast!<br/>Price: Great ($105 for today)<br/>Ambience: Casual<br/>Would i go back again: Yes<br/>😊👍🏼

Great ambience after the recent renovation , when we left they were preparing the restaurant for a party for the day after !<br/>We really enjoyed the pizza cooked in the wood fired oven and the Italian doughnut with Nutella as dessert was to die for ! <br/>Highly recommended !
@Foodieguide_lily
This place has been newly renovated recently and has a very welcoming atmosphere, but the pizza is the real attraction for me. Having spent a lot of time in Italy, it's tough finding something as good as an Italian pizza but these guys have done it! A beautifully thin but not too soft or crusty base - with a tasty sauce, high quality toppings and excellent staff. The pasta is fine as are the desserts but boy, the pizzas - plus they have great Mon-Wed deals on pizza, pasta and parmigianas (from $15). I had some lovely Italian wines here as well for very reasonable prices. <br/><br/>I originally found this place as I was invited in for a re-launch event, and just loved everything. The pasta was huge and tasty, I tried both the gnocchi which melted in my mouth and the marinara which was delicious. The tiramisu was lovely but the semi freddo was gorgeous - absolutely stunning and very rich. The croquettes were yummy but the arancini were perfectly executed.<br/><br/>I sat with a friend for ages chatting and eating, and we were not bullied into ordering extras which I greatly appreciated. We were offered chilli sauce, and out water was endlessly refilled so we appreciated being treated well as I feel like Perth has so many rude service staff and venues don't value business like they do at this place. I am a big fan and as you can tell from my photos I'll be back... a lot!!

I went to Bellavista several times; dining in and take away ... that place never let me down...<br/>freshly renew modern surrounding great restaurant and pizzeria. Staff always greeting with smile and then start your authentic Italian experience in Perth<br/>Great pizza!!! Friendly and polite staff, I love this place!!!
Queen Of Bad Timing
It’s a big corner restaurant in East Perth that I’ve driven past countless times – and yet somehow never even realised it was there. Bistro Bellavista is unassuming on the outside, but inside it’s light, airy and lush with greenery. The crackle of the wood fire oven provides a backing track, and on the day I went for lunch, the dining area was full of family and extended family all celebrating a pretty adorable Italian gentleman’s 80th birthday.

Love this place! We had a voucher that we won, came here and will always come back! Lovely staff and good service. Never too busy which is a plus for us. Tagliatelle bolognese was yum. The carbonara was AMAZING. HUGE servings of pasta - couldn't finish mine there had to take the rest home! Definitely recommend
Take Me To Foodie Heaven
The Agnello Al Forno comprised of oven roasted Margaret River lamb rack with pistachio crust, served pink with baby carrots and roasted potatoes, finished with pesto and rosemary jus. I had a taste and the lamb rack was cooked to juicy and tender, with a hint of pink in the middle. The pesto and rosemary jus added more flavour to the beautiful lamb rack.
Foodie Cravings
If you are looking for authentic Italian cuisine created in a family owned restaurant and presented by smiling waitstaff who are knowledgeable about the food they serve, then I highly recommend you visit Bistro Bellavista in East Perth. The restaurant, which has been established for 12 years, has just undergone a major refurbishment to evoke a warm, casual feel. Designers were appointed and owners, Adam Di Prinzio and his brother, Simon are delighted with the results.

Bistro Bellavista was formerly known as Cafe Bellavista. Not only they had changed their name recently but they also refurbished the whole restaurant and added a new Wood Fired Oven. We went there for dinner a couple of weeks ago and really liked the new bright and white interiors of the bistro. The design of the restaurant was done by Mata Design, the company behind Chilli Panda as well as Nic & Kolo.
PerthfectBreakfast
We were invited to check out longstanding Cafe Bellavista's revamp to Bistro Bellavista and it has a modern, clean fresh vibe complete with a brand new wood fire pizza oven, bar and wine room. The food looked just as good as it tasted. The antipasti platter of arancini, mozzarella and prosciutto croquettes and tempura local prawns were all amazing - my favourite being the ooey gooey croquettes! <br/><br/>This was followed up by wood fired pizza. The prawn and prosciutto pizza with basil pesto drizzle and bocconcini was delicious, crust was so light. <br/><br/>Mains we had the Margaret River lamb rack which was cooked tender and pink. The gnocchi was my fave main of the two... pillowy soft and coated in a Gorgonzola cream sauce on a bed of tomato sauce, yum!<br/><br/>Desserts... mascarpone semifreddo with salted caramel, chocolate soil and peanuts and a classic creme brûlée. Both were on point. Possibly the best brûlée I've had, custard was silky smooth. <br/><br/>Totally recommend this place.
Dave Freakley
Great food and attentive friendly service and reasonably priced. Started with the taster plate between 4 of us. Then 2 had lamb rack, a spaghetti marinara and fish of the day. Finished with awesome desert. All great and would return.

First time here. Newly renovated so very smart. Service good, food really great and good value priced wines. Special meal deals on certain days of the week, and is in the Entertainment Book.
Jasmine Castillo
very nice place, went there for a pizza and it was really good. The staff was amazing and we thank the girl which was nice , fast and profesional.<br/>we will come back for sure.
I.live.to.eat
not sure what's happened since we've last been about 6 months ago, but portion sizes have reduced significantly. almost $30 for a half-filled plate of spaghetti marinara, with the tiniest prawns and negligible amount of sauce :( service staff also seem to have changed, and now less attentive/friendly. won't be returning
Big Trev™
Exactly what you would expect from an old school Italian Restaurant. Big Serves, Big Flavours and quick service. Watch out for the chilli oil - it's hot.
Bret Madden
Fantastic Italian Family Restaurant! Awesome service topped only by excellent homemade food. I can always judge an Italian Restaurant by the quality of its Risotto, and they absolutely shine!
Vienna Dean
The food was very hit and miss, staff were fantastic , service was good but the chicken parma was awful, it tasted like a McCains microwave meal.  Was embarassed for my guests who ordered it .  Pasta was very good thou.
Chris Robbo
Dined here last week with my partner and it was all look .<br/>Had some interesting meals that were very filling but sometimes a touch too rich for our taste.  The Gnocchi was comfortable and had a nice sauce with it. The Lamb (Agniello) was nice enough but overall we were satisfied.<br/>Not bad if your in the area and feel like a reasonable meal<br/>Thanks
Aimone Porri
Impressed by service and quality of the food ! <br/>The chilly mussels were to die for !!!<br/>Will be back soon Bellavista

Been in this restaurant several times and never had a bad meal !<br/>Staff are attentive and friendly and food is always good quality and size !!<br/>My Favourite dish is the Rack of lamb, a MUST TRY!!!<br/><br/>

Went there Saturday night with a group for my partner's birthday.  Firstly our pizza bianca was delivered burnt.  We were told it's a little burnt, you can have another one if you like!  Why deliver it to us burnt then?  The main courses were okay but my medium rare steak was cooked well done.  The desserts were clearly several days old and not good at all.  When it was time to pay they would not honour our entertainment voucher as some of us ordered off the daily special menu.  This is clearly in breach of the entertainment book rules.  This was the straw that broke the camel's back and very dishonest.  Will never return.
Vitor
Very nice restaurant. <br/>I have been there lots of time. <br/>Delicious dinner. <br/>Friendly staff. Affordable prices. <br/>They have the best tiramissu of Perth. <br/>Cheers

We went last night for a couples meal. The food was really lovely and the service great. Though it seems a bit pricey for what it actually is. We were however given a "vip for life" card which gives us 10% off each visit from now on so it would make it worth visiting again as it would be a normal price.
Everhopeful
We ate here for the second time last night and the place is obviously popular but I can't see why. It is exy and the food isn't that great. The service was friendly, the plates were loaded with food and it was warm , maybe that is enough for some people. We ate calamari for entree. The poor little squid must have been miniatures because the calamari rings were as small as my wedding ring and for $14 a small basket serve that is a bit rich

I went to this restaurant 2 years ago and I wasn’t impressed, I come back today with my wife for a pizza and was very delicious.. but the best was the dessert, an authentic Italian style full of flavor. I’ll come back again
Ngata Epapara
Went there for breakfast.  Greeted by a friendly smiling lady & shown to a table.  She returned immediately with a carafe of water & the menus.  We placed our order and she then made our drinks.  Was nice to watch the morning show on tv.<br/>Breakfast came and we were not disappointed, my wife had Eggs Benedict & I had the Big Belly Breakfast; eggs were cooked perfectly & the sausage was very tasty. <br/>Thanks for a great start to our day, i will be back.<br/>I definitely recommend Cafe Bellavista.
Merryn
Amazing Pizza & great desserts with friendly service too!!Great to watch their Italian chef make the Pizzas right in front of our eyes, so tasty and great that they can be personalised too!Amazing Dessert cabinet, all made on site too.  Was so hard to decide what to have! Good selection of beverages and they have Peroni on tap!The staff were friendly and the restaurant was comfortable and warming, nice background music and not too loud so you could easily have a conversation at the table. We will definitely be back, thanks to the whole team for a great night

Superb food, service and value for money. We frequent this restaurant regularly and have also recommended it to friends and family. Great prices, service and the food is cooked to perfection. Our favourite dish is the veal.<br/><br/>No need to order an entre as the mains are huge.

Chef's special - Barramundi. Last night I visited this cafe and had a superb meal of barramundi sitting on baked pumpkin with creamy mash and a lovely sauce. It was one of the best meals I have had. Bellavista is enjoyed by locals in the area, especially for their pizzas and Italian food. Their servings are generous, the service is good and unobtrusive.

Five stars - great authentic italian and highly recommend. For a quiet little area of East Perth this was a café we stubbled upon through a voucher in the entertainment book.<br/>From the minute we walked in the staff were great, they were friendly and professional.<br/>Service was second to none and the food was delicious!<br/>Highly recommend to anyone who wants great tasting and traditional Italian.<br/>Thank you for a very pleasant evening, we will be back very soon!

Amazing service and great food...!!!. Just terrific service from the moment you walk in. Staff are courteous, helpful and attentive, a real cut above the rest. This must have the best people in Perth and the food is great, fresh, well cooked, seasoned and on time.<br/><br/>Cannot be faulted... :-)

If you're into average - this is the restaurant for you! Soggy, flavourless bruschetta was a low point. Pastas were all OK but nothing inspiring enough to return for.

Love this place. Love the food and the staff are helpful and friendly. Recommend any day
Luke
AverageVista. Totally average food, and grossly over priced. Dishes were clearly pre-made and sitting there for some time before being served, instead of made-to-order. The pasta on my dish was not "hand made" as claimed...it was clearly packet pasta...not very nice, and the flavours were quite flat. Same goes for the desserts...average quality and flat in flavour.<br/><br/>The staff are friendly though, and the service was quite good. However, the whole evening was rush-rush-rush, with no pause between the courses and the vibe of hurry up and eat and get out so we can go with the second wave. I did suggest to one of the waiters to please slow down and not rush us so much but it didn't really work.
Bigwidenothing
Great place. Excellent service, went there tired after a six hour drive from Albany and wasn't expecting too much but was pleasantly surprised - the staff were lovely, the spaghetti delicious and the dessert also. Would definitely recommend!

Worth a visit. This is a very good restaurant, good food and good staff. <br/>Have been several times over a last 2 years and the staff are the same - a rarity in Perth.<br/>Never had a bad meal and the restrooms are always very clean.

Try the Salmon!!. Have been a number of times now and I'm never disappointed. Had the Salmon tonight, cooked perfectly and tasted delicious. The food at Café Bellavista is always fresh, staff friendly, great spot!!
Pia.1966
Great Food!!. Beautiful meal as usual, ordered the crispy skinned Salmon with mash, fish was fresh and melted in your mouth. Service is friendly and the waitress was knowledgable and gave good recommendations. Would easily recommend to anyone to go and enjoy the culinary experience.

Awesome Salmon!. Went to Café Bellavista tonight and had the Salmon and Prawns - it was excellent. My wife and I have been there a few times now (we live in walking distance) and have always had great food and service. All the staff are very friendly and professional. Highly recommend it to anyone. Italian style menu with loads of choices. No complaints!

Superb. Cannot beat the service and atmosphere at this Restaurant. Food is beautiful. Glen, Claremont.

Ho hum... not up to scratch. Had an itch to have some real italian spag bol. It was better than SPC out of a can but only just. Wife dissapointed in her meal slso. This place is good for pizza but the rest is very ordinary.
Steve
Beautiful little authentic Italian cafe/pizzeria. <br/>Modern decor, quality Mediterranean artwork surrounding the walls, comfy chairs and beautiful Italian music (high quality speakers too!)<br/>We were seated at one of the elevated tables and enjoyed a full view through the restaurant and viewing window to the kitchen/sous chef area (nice touch). <br/>Water on arrival and drinks menu supplied when seated (with specials menu). <br/>We had the antipasto plate for 2 - simply delicious! (Finely sliced calamari, chorizo, char grilled capsicum, bruschetta & arancini balls with an aolli dip). <br/>Mains - I had the Lamb Rack on bed of mash with red wine jus and the wife had the Crab Linguini both were superbly cooked and presented, could've licked the plate clean!!!<br/>Desert - I had the Tiramisu as did the wife and it was simply the best we've ever had! Not so "coffee" flavoured, more chocolaty than mocha and not sickly sweet!<br/>For us, this would have to be the most enjoyable, satisfying & memorable evening we've had at a restaurant in Perth!<br/>Last but not least - THE SERVICE WAS EXCEPTIONAL!!! Bernie (our waiter) was phenomenal, on top of everything all evening and extremely informative and entertaining also Alfredo (Manager) was very polite and helpful when making enquiries about wedding information.

Always a winner. I have been going to Cafe Bella Vista for many years on a regular basis. The food is consistently good and the steak , lamb and seafood choices on the menu are always excellent . Never have I walked away from this place without saying " what a great meal!". It is also one of the very few restaurents in the whole of Perth which serves wholesome and fresh west Australian fish, prawns, squid and other seafood, compared to many restaurents which dish out chemically tasting Asian imported seafood. Being a big seafood foodie I know my seafood well and Bella Vista passes the test everytime. The stafff are obliging and friendly and always offer warm welcoming smiles ,. Service has always been pleasing.<br/>Prices are reasonable, considering the quality of the food and in spite of its seating capacity, i have never found it too noisy to have a conversation with my companion or with groups of friends .<br/>If you are looking for a nice ambience , good food and drink (not to mention desserts) without hurting the pocket, this is the place for you. Parking is free and easy compared to most downtown restaurents.<br/>Would be difficult for me to go anywherec else for regular dining.

What a great experience. Great authentic Italian food, good service, attention to detail, nice location away from the hustle and bustle of the CBD and convenient parking. I'll definitely be back with the family !!!

Hidden Gem!!<br/>My girlfriend and I were in the mood for some Italian food, and came across Bellavista as we were scouring through the Entertainment Book. Upon arrival we discovered that we had driven past the restaurant on many occasions but have never thought twice about it. Inside the restaurant's decor looked festive (due to the Christmas period) and we were welcomed by the friendly staff. The restaurant had a separate menu for the specials of the day, as well as wide array of mains. Bellavista has a well rounded wine list which seems to cater for all lovers of wine. Food was very tasty and flavoursome. Service was good and we highly recommend the Tiramisu. Would difinitely dine there again.

First visit to Cafe Bellavista. Had a lovely evening with attentive staff, a beautifully cooked meal - tender as you could possibly get it which we thoroughly enjoyed (and great pizza too). We came for our anniversary - our first visit and we will definately go again !

Megan Becker. Dined at Bellavista last night. Enjoyed the meal, service was great, atmosphere was superb. Would certainly return and same for our 2 friends who joined us. 10 out of 10.

Surprisingly scrumptious Italian dining in East Perth. Only just found this place and tried it for the first time for a family birthday on a Monday night. The four of us reserved a table near the back of the cafe and it was a quieter corner for us to chat and happened upon the Monday & Tuesday Pizza and Pasta specials - so all of us decided on a woodfired oven Pizza Carnivora and the Seafood Risotto (from the Chef's Special's menu) to share for starters and found both to be delicious and the risotto very flavoursome. For the mains we all couldn't go past trying the Spaghetti Marinara and even asked the chef to cook with a cream sauce as opposed to tomato sauce base and the result was truly amazing. We were all blown away by the amount of flavours we could taste from the dish and both the tomato and cream based sauces were superb ! Service was also quick and attentive from refilling the water bottle to serving up our dishes. We were amazed that the place was nearly full on a Monday night but noticed that nearly everyone chose pizza and pasta dishes over the standard menu offerings and I can understand why with the good food and affordable special prices for the first two days of the week. Our birthday girl was certainly happy with the food and enjoyed herself and we all vowed to return to try a few other dishes from the standard menu on the weekend next time !

Best in area. My wife, myself and friends have dined here many times and love the food and atmosphere here,we've never had a bad meal and think it's probably the best value for money in the area, and we have.tried them all,try it for yourself.

40th Wedding Anniversary. We recently celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary with friends and family. The staff treated us and our guests with great service and fantastic food from a comprehensive set menu. There was particular attention paid to special dietary needs. We had exclusive use of the window section of the restaurant overlooking Wellington Square. Thank you Alfredo and staff for making our anniversary celebration so special. Many of our guests said it was the "best party" they had been to.<br/>Graham & Jan

Awesome food... Great Service... Had a friend visit from overseas and went to Cafe Bellavista for an evening catch up... The food was truelly amazing, and the service was friendly and attentive when needed. my favourite for the evening were the profiteroles.. we had a lovely evening catching up .. what was supposed to be a 2 hour dinner turned into a 4 hour girly chat.. Thank you so much Cafe Bellavista.. will be back again for sure

Gods waiting room. Entertainment book voucher, been before let's try again.<br/>Diners mostly elderly ,happy to toddle over from their retirement<br/>apartment and eat average food.<br/>Pizza entree ( gas fired) was a cheese fest!<br/>Gnocchi was boring , tinned sauce , calamari as salty as the Dead Sea!<br/>If your over 60 and are happy to eat poor food, this place is for you!

Our group was very impressed the whole ambience was amazing food also great service a winner

Highly recommended for dine in and take away

Tho soup of the day tasted like can food, the spaghetti marinara is the best I've ever had. Fresh and succulent seafood; not the usual ones but crab meat, tiger prawn and etc. on top of that, generous portion! It's Definitely on my to go back list.

Returning customer. Have eaten here several times, and always loved it, until last visit.<br/>I even requested for me and my partner to have my birthday dinner here last year (october) and it was still great.<br/>This time round (April) it was not so good. The people are still fine, but the food was not as flavoursome. I don't know if they have recently changed chefs?]<br/>Will definitely try again before scratching it off the list, though!
Michael
Pleasantly surprised. Staff friendly attentive and very prompt service. Could not fault the food. Shared entres of dusted calamari and salmon pizza which I can highly recommend. Angel hair crab for main was better than most I have had before. Decor was sort like 1970's bowling club but kitchen really clean and overall good experience. Would go back for pizza any day.
Leannet
Leanne. Dont waste your money. I had spagetti marinara - where do i start, packet spagetti, over cooked prawns with only half the vein removed, over cooked muscles and the bits of muscle shell all threw it. Flavour very lacking I could have cooked this better at home and I am certainly not italian. Definatly not worth the $28 actualy not worth $5

Great pasta. I have a spaghetti marinara index and this place definitely ticks the box. The sauce was tasty, seafood was cooked perfectly and prawns were massive.

Lovely. The restaurant decor is very nice - it's different - I really like the black and red theme.<br/>We went on a Monday night and wow was it packed - good on ya guys for opening on a Monday night when so many other places aren't!<br/>Nevertheless, service was attentive and quick.<br/>The pasta and pizza special for Monday/Tuesday is a great idea.<br/>Nevertheless I had one of the Chef's Specials - the Mushroom Risotto. This is something I look for almost every time I go to an Italian restaurant and rarely find. Or if I do, it's never quite what I hoped for.<br/>Well I found it! I gobbled up the whole dish, didn't stop - it was delicious!!!!!

Still Hungry - Buyer beware. I went with a group of around 24 people to have dinner at this establishment. Food was fine. I asked the waitress and the manager why my Gnocchi at the 20 something a plate was a much smaller serving than what most of the group ordered as a special for 14. The look from the waitress was "I'm just delivering the food, its what you ordered?" When I went to pay and told the manager that I was looking forward to this meal as the website looks good, and yet the gnocchi was lucky to be 2 spoons worth on the plate, He tells me blah blah and we do a good serve. What!! Everyone around me asked if I had ordered entree.<br/>Feeling a bit short changed and I won't come back to open my wallet or my mouth here again.

User reviews. Lovely meals time and time again :-) The staff are attentive and friendly, meals are well presented and taste delicious. I had the 300gm steak last time I went and it was cooked to perfection! Can't wait to go again :-)

Not worth the money. Sweet staff, but I would not return here. I got a salad and tinned sliced beetroot was used. It was definitely a waste of money. I could have made the same salad at home.
Maria
Good Pizza. The Pizza was fantastic soft pizza base and slightly chewy crust. Will try again in next time.
Soma
Quite Average. I visited last week and was not really impressed. <br/><br/>Then again, I was with a large-ish group and probably 30% of them were happy enough with the food. So maybe it depends on what you order. <br/><br/>Steaks apparently good, salads bland, pizza so-so and drink prices a bit steep.<br/><br/>I wouldn't go back. Not value for money and just ordinary in so many respects.
Nicole
Cheese cheese cheese!!! Went here for dinner will never return! My boyfriend had carbonara which was simply a bowl of potent sticky cheese, it was vile!! I had prawns and they were far from fresh couldnt eat them and when i pointed this out to restaurant manager he practically argued wit me!!!! Service wasnt good either and toilets were filthy!!!

Consistently good. We have dined here a number of times, as a couple, as a family, and with a group of friends, and the food and service has been consistently good. We ate there against last night because I won a $50 voucher on radio station 1080. Contrary to other reviews, there was no difference in the level of service because we were using a voucher - the service was friendly and prompt but not rushed. I had a pasta dish (cannot remember what it was called but it was linguini in a creamy tomato sauce with mushrooms and prawns). It was fantastic! My only complaint was that the serving size was so generous that I couldn't fit in dessert!

Delicious Food, Great Service. We ate dinner here on a Friday night. We chose Bellavista as it was open at 5.30pm but also from the great reviews. It did not disappoint! We were greeted by friendly, smiling staff and shown to our table. We needed to eat and leave within an hour but the entrees looked so good we ordered the Calamari Fritti. The chef's recommendation was the steak dishes. We decided against the steak as we had limited time. I ordered the Pizza Carnivora. It had the biggest chunks of chicken, bacon and Italian sausage i have ever seen on a pizza! I was able to swap the capsicum for fresh tomato with no problem and no extra charge. Hubby ordered the Linguine Contadina and loved it. We asked for our mains as soon as the entree was cleared away. We were able to have entree and mains in an hour and take some pizza away. With a 25% off entertainment voucher this place is really good value. Unfortunately the food and service was so good we will have to go back.
Claire Dixon
We had our work Christmas in July dinner here last night. There was 16 of us and everyone's raving about how lovely the food was and how attentive the wait staff were. It has become increasingly difficult trying to arrange staff dinners at a reasonable budget and hands down these guys were gear! The staff were just so easy to work with and made it such a breeze! Will be back

Delicious Meals, Friendly staff. As you enter the restaurent, you are greeted with a friendly smile from the first available staff. Then you are seated at your table by the Manager, Alfredo or the assistasnt manager Bernardino making you feel welcome as you are been usherd to your table. My favourite menu item for entree is the Antipasto della Casa, tasting plate for 2, It's a must. Spaghetti alla Maranara is to die for.Bistecca alla Griglia,300gms of steak cook to your liking is a must try for good steak lovers.Alfredo and Bernie can point you in the right direction for a good bottle of wine. Oh btw if you lucky enough you could meet their head chef James. It's a regular haunr for me and my partner.

Best Paella. Arrived on a busy Friday evening with a friend who recommended Bellavista and as a first time diner we left very impressed. Service was professional, clearly the staff from abroad were not back packers but well trained dedicated Hospitality enthusiasts. Northbridge take note. We shared a Paella dish for two which was authentic as you would eat in Spain and was generously laden with good sized prawns and marvellously presented. We had Tiramisu from the magnificent desert menu, and enjoyed its subtle texture and fresh flavour. Will definitely be back soon to try the other offerings

Brian & Debbie. Johnson. This simplistic elegant restaurant with its relaxes atmosphere and personalised service, never ceases to amaze my wife and I we always stay @ Baileys on Wellington Park when in Perth, having lived there for three weeks when first arriving in WA.<br/>We have been fortunate to cover the whole menu over an 18 month period,<br/>The meals are excellent with a wide variety of choices, with the fillet steak to die for.<br/>We highly recommend Cafe Bellvista as an excellent choice when staying in central Perth,

Went to Cafe Bellavista, just the other week. We were there for 10pax dinner, and we picked it randomly from the Perth Entertainment Book as the book was only valid for a little bit longer. It wasn't until we rocked up that we realised we had been there before, so obviously having this happen- I suppose the food last time was not bad but nor was it memorable.<br/><br/>We ordered a couple of the plates of Arancini Fritti as Entrees for the table to share. They were pretty nice...<br/><br/>8 of us ordered a pasta or main dish each, with 2 of our guests sharing the Special of the Day which was a large Paella dish. It was quite nice, very rich, but still very tasty and even sharing it with other guests, we weren't able to finish it. Everyone else agreed their dishes tasted pretty good and the servings were of a decent size, but the only problem was with the Spaghetti alla Marinara.<br/><br/>On the menu it had a thumbs up given by "Bernie" (whoever that is), and stated in the description that it had "Shark Bay crab meat" in it. Now, as soon as the dish was placed on the table- it was easily identifiable that this was not fresh crab meat, but obviously the artificial stuff. We did not complain, but we left the 'crab meat' uneaten and at the end of our meal, we brought our waiter over just to double check if the menu actually said "Shark Bay crab meat". It did. We showed him and prodded at it and explained that it clearly wasn't what was served in our spaghetti dish. The waiter still claimed it was and took the dish of leftover and untouched 'crab meat' to the kitchen. Needless to say, the waiter never came back out that night (well not to our table anyways).<br/><br/>Probably a good thing, as he was very rude when serving us and taking our order. He told the teenagers off for playing with their phones whilst he was at the other end of the table taking orders. He said they should get off their phones and pick what they want so he wouldn't be left waiting when he came up to them to take their order. Now they had already picked what they wanted and were just waiting for him to approach them. It makes sense that he said it would be quicker to decide what we wanted to eat before he came to each of us, but his attitude and the way he said it was very rude.<br/><br/>Not sure if we will come back again... I mean, the food was pretty alright, not wow. But that's it.

Tasty Italian food, good value, take away aswell, friendly staff. Nice change as there are some over priced poorer alternatives out there. This place doesn't try to be too snobby, nice balance. Good food and good value.

Delizioso dinner at Bellavista!. Have been here a few times and have to say I have nothing bad to say about it. it's great! <br/>Food is delicious, well priced (for Perth) and good portion sized, staff are friendly and attentive and atmosphere is lovely and welcoming :)<br/><br/>Arancini balls are my favorite and Bellavistas are great!!!<br/><br/>Bernie is lovely and always recommends a great dish for my boyfriend who will eat anything so always asks for recommendations!<br/><br/>Overall lovely place and definitely recommend it!!

Fantastic. We are regular diners. Love their food, and tried most of the menu - never been disappointed. Great to have well-priced food so close to the city in a nice atmosphere, great service and free street parking after hours. Service is impeccable. Cannot fault.

The best Italian restaurant in Perth ever. The marinara pasta was amazing and my husband choose really good pizza. Recommend this place to everyone.

Awesome Restaurant. The best food and service i have ever had in Perth. I am from Melbourne and come to Perth on business frequently. I stumbled across this place by accident last week, and let me say that i will be coming here for a meal every time I visit Perth... Well done Bellavista !!!

Real Italian food - mama mia!. This restaurant is unpretentious and most importantly, the food is brilliant.<br/>We had the beef cheeks cooked by an authentic northern Italian chef that melted in the mouth, while the jus with it was superb. When I mentioned how good it was on the way out, the manager said the chefs were always challenging themselves to improve. Bravo!<br/>The whiting fillets were also fantastic - lightly crumbed and really fresh fish.<br/>The staff here are mostly Italian with a passion for food and service - everyone was friendly and attentive.<br/>The dessert was an authentic Italian tiramisu that's the best we've had in a long time (and the pannacotta was the same).<br/>The wine prices are also very good compared with most places in Perth - try the soft Italian red from Tuscany that is very smooth and adds to the feeling of being in the Italian countryside.<br/><br/>The interior of this unassuming cafe is a little like those long Italian tables for Sunday lunch. The atmosphere is wonderful and the staff are the nicest you'll find anywhere in Perth.<br/><br/>Bravo e grazie mille.
Hamish Varney
The seafood marinara would have to be the best ive ever had and ive tried a lot all around australia. I think it comes down to the fresh produce they put into the home made sauce which really makes it awesome.

Best italian restaurant in town. We felt like we were in Italy as we walked into the restaurant, such a great atmosphere, ambience, great food and excellent staffs.. we will dine at this restaurant and will recommend all my friends and relatives.....

Bad pizza! Like a "bisuit". Sorry but its not Italian at all. Will never go back again!

The Whole Package. We went to Cafe Bellavista on Sunday night, there were quiet a few people there and people coming in from the hotel next door quiet a bit. We were seated where the lighting was that good, my husband was waiting for new glasses and when we asked to be moved, no problems. They seated us where the lighting was much better. The foods was fabulous, service 10/10, everything was what you want when you go out. We will be back and I can say if you have not been, you NEED TO GO. Well done to all. Thanks for a wonderful evening.

I received a birthday offer from Cafe Bellavista, offering me a free bottle of wine and free Italian torte birthday cake if I chose to celebrate my birthday with them. As I always love a good deal, I took it up! And I wasn't disappointed. I had 20 people come to the dinner, and prior to the night I was told that the cake supplied will cater for the number of people coming - which was great. It turned out to be a wonderful night with good food, and very thorough wait staff. Would definitely recommend for a good night out with friends.

Great Experence. Great service magnificent food what more can you say, you can even BYO your own wine.

Pizza is not at all authentic and was very ordinary. Had an unpleasant experience with the staff. Pasta was good on the otherhand!
Deliciousness
Delish. On entering, the plastic chairs & paper tablecloths let the feel of the restaurant down. <br/><br/>Entree was a disappinting start, Italian sausage wasn't fried and crisp, but the mains...sensational. Good size serves. Cooked to perfection. Great service. <br/><br/>Will definatley return!
Rainonef
Worst lasagna. Been here a few times food generally OK but this last time had the worst lasagna ever it came out cold, dry, with no meat layers, salad with it was hot and old. Service here is always bad with having to ask for water to be replaced, clearing dishes whilst people at table are still eating. Complained about the food but it was like talking to a wall no response. Definitely will not be going back. Would not recommend it to anyone.
Sarah
Worst service. Took 2 hours to get main meals. Waiter accused us of lying when they forgot to bring our dessert and accused someone of eating it! Spoiled our dinner to the max. Will never be back!

Great food, great service. Always come go there. It's our local

Surprisingly good!. Ate here for a work Christmas function. Was not expecting much at all, and was pleasantly surprised by the attentive, responsive and friendly service, and the good quality, tasty meals. Well done Cafe Bellavista!

Really great service & the food looked amazing, however the taste was somewhat bland!

FANTASTICO. We decided to try Bellavista as our friend loves Italian and OMG we were not disappointed. From the moment we entered the Staff were extremely hospitable/friendly and attentive. Bernie was only too willing to tell us all we needed to know re food and drinks. My 2 friends so enjoyed their meals claiming it to be the best linguine and marinara they had ever had BUT for me I am here to tell you I had the BEST steak (Bistecca) in my entire life!! (and I am nearly 60) Forget all those so called "Upmarket Steak Houses" with views etc. Cafe Bellavista leaves them all for Dead!!! To this wonderful Restaurant/Staff and Chef be prepared for many many more visits. Impeccable!!!! Bellisamo!!!!!! Thank you for a great experience

Consistently good. I work in East Perth and have eaten Breakfasts, Lunches and Dinners at this restaurant on countless occasions over the last 5 years. Service is always good and prompt. Never had a bad meal, but some have been better than others. Pizzas are brilliant and cooked in a real pizza oven - pasta is consistently good - fish and chicken dishes good - steak sometimes not as tender as it should be. But overall though a great venue and not a noisy one so conversation is possible!
Jandreriksen
The service is excellent. The food great. We can't fault it. Go and try. Panacotta, Spaghetti Aglio Olio e Peperincino and the Beef cheeks being major handouts for us. Wine list is Ok and relevant.
Ballo71
Poor excuse for Italian food. This place must be kidding themselves if they think what they are serving up is authentic Italian food. The arancini balls for starters were tasteless, the bread tasted a week old & the olives were terrible. My wife had the chicken pizza, it was bland, flavorless & stodgy. My pasta was very oily & a rip off for $29.00. The atmosphere & service was null & void. Fat chance seeing me here again.
Yum
We were the invisible customers. We firstly had to ask for wine glasses, then we had to catch a waiters eye to order, then we had to repeat our request for an ice bucket. The meals were not very big and were disappointing. We then had to chase down a waiter to order dessert. After 10 minutes he came back to tell us that two of the dishes we had ordered were not available. There is something really wrong here. I won't be back.<br/><br/><br/>-----03 Sep, 2012-----<br/><br/>Great Pasta. Four of us went on a Saturday night and we had a really lovely meal. The spahetti marinara was declared the best ever. The risotto was also declared the best. The chorizo and prawns were absolutely delicious. The gnocchi was also given the nod. Friendly service. We will be back.

Dont Eat Here If You Have Won A Prize From 1080. We won a prize from 1080 the radio station. So we booked in and went there for lunch on Friday 13th July. As we were being shown to our seats the waiter realised we had a voucher and he never continued to show us to our seats instead from the middle of the restaurant he pointed to table in the corner and told us to sit there. We found him most rude. The restaurant was not busy, there were only 2 other diners when we were there. We wanted to order from the Lunch Menu but we were told we could not (as we had a voucher) we had to order from the full menu. The waiter went off and left us to rethink our order. After waiting 20 minutes for him to return my husband finally had to go to the counter to find the waiter (he was talking to the chef and manager). He finally came back to take our order. The food was not the best. We ordered Chicken and found it quite dry and tasteless. We will not be going back and if they are going to be giving out prizes they should honour them and not make you feel like a second class citizen.

On my favourites list. Great service. Crab pasta was excellent and I had enough left over for lunch the next day. Other half had fish - well cooked with a good sized serve ofveges. Definitely going back... and its in the Entertainment Book! Good value

Heavy food. While you expect italian food to be a bit on the greasy side, when i had ordered my carbonara there was a good 5 tablespoons on oil sitting at the bottom of my takeaway food. very disappointed with the quality of the food compared to price. very over priced for what it is.
Ms Persia
Great Meal, Wonderful Service. My partner and I tried this out as we had purchased the Scoopon vouchers. The food was fantastic and service was second to none. Definitely will be happy to go back again, pasta was amazing.

Good meal. We had the battered whitebait (special for the night), and arancini for entree. Heaps of whitebait in the bowl and we got an extra arancini (menu says 4 but we got 5). The arancini was really good, the rice was already in a tomato-y base so didn't need the dipping sauce on the side and came out nice and hot.<br/><br/>For mains we got creamy tomato chicken pasta and the Harvey fillet. Both were delicious and generous portions. <br/><br/>The only downer for the evening was the chocolate ice-cream that came on the side of the chocolate mousse. It was just strange and tasted off (is that even possible for ice-cream?). I don't know what it was to be honest but didn't taste like ordinary chocolate ice-cream.<br/><br/>The other plus was that the staff were friendly.<br/><br/>Would return.
Agapejon
Thumbs up. We went here Thursday night using a Scoopon voucher and tried the steak, angel hair pasta with crab, entree of squid and some chips. All up it was an enjoyable experience. The $36 steak was the stand out dish for the night. The pasta was also very nice in a rich tomato based sauce.

Went to Bellavista on a public holiday in a group if six. Immediately I found the waitstaff friendly and atmosphere pleasant. The restaurant was quiet and I found the staff very helpful recommending some dishes. We ordered the pizzas for entree and it came out promptly and tasted delicious. Our mains came out on cue and all looked as delicious as they tasted. Staff still were very prompt and attentive. Ended the night with some coffee and dessert. Have recommended this to other friends and will be back again.

Average.... We used a Scoopon voucher. We found the food great, but a few simple things lacking in the service. They were having a quiet night but didn't offer us to choose a table, they sat us right by the register which is never peaceful. The voucher included a bottle of wine or a few beers, but we were told by the waiter only white wine was on offer. Since neither of us drink white wine, we opted for the beers. I was dissappointed since I don't drink beer but at least my partner got a couple of drinks. It seemed that all the staff were Italian and the food was yum, but I'm just not sure they know much about what good service and dining customs in Australia are like. The wait staff kind of made me feel guilty for presenting a scoopon voucher by the way they treated us, but don't restaurants use Scoopon to motivate people to go and give their business a try? I've used Scoopons elsewhere and had WONDERFUL service and have gone back to those places many tiimes thanks to my first impression. Food was above average (pretty nice authentic tasting pizza!), service was below average... But we won't be going back. I know many places that have above average pizza :) Bellavista not worth returning to in my opinion.

LOVE THE PIZZAS!!! Ive been a regular customer for the past 2 years. Mostly takeaway woodfired pizza. I've eaten in the restaurant only a few times and can't really complain about the food. The new(ish) decor is another story. However, top tips; - generous servings, pasta especially. - creamy pasta sauce is quite rich. Too oily for my taste. - can get VERY busy and the service level drops dramatically. - lamb kebab pizza is not for a date night (garlic warning) but it's fantastic!!! But its the great woodfired pizzas that keeps us coming back.
Stretch
THE BEST STEAK. We dined there on Friday night with a Scoopon. The food and service were top class. We shared an entree of salt and pepper squid which was more like a main meal size and was extremely tender and well seasoned. My husband who is very particular when it comes to steak was prompted by our waiter who was extremely attentive to try the steak and it was good decision. The steak was cooked perfectly and was melt in the mouth (I did get to try one small bite) My barramundi which was a special of the night was a massive piece of beautiful fish. All in all a very pleasant dining experience. We will be back as I want a steak all to myself!!!
Amanda Smith
Don't bother. Used to be good, not so much now. Just picked up the take away lamb pizza, got home and no feta, and too much oil.
Davo
Service was absolutely terrible with the one diner not even getting her meal until after everyone had finished. Drinks were brought out 2 at a time or forgotten about. Had an entertainment voucher that could be used but no compensation for missed meals and drinks. Will definitely not dine there again!
Pris
Scoopon voucher dining. We dined with scoopons yesterday - 1 voucher gives you two pizza, 1 serve of bruschetta, 2 serves of ice cream and a bottle of wine OR 4 bottles of Cage beer. <br/><br/>Service was good, we were attended to at all times and food came at a nice pace. Bruschetta came and we ate it though it tasted weird (we blamed in on the Parsley) - it was not till two of us finished ours, I stopped my partner from eating a chunk of green that I saw on the bread. Mould! My other friend checked hers and found it on hers too -spat it all out. <br/><br/>We informed the manager and waitress. When you have Scoopons, you've paid for it - what do you do, really? We were hungry and we didn't want our night ruined. <br/><br/>The manager came back and offered us two free soft drinks to compensate. It was a little bit silly - there were four of us who ate mouldy bread and only two of us will get "compensated". We had to show we were offended by this and then finally got four soft drinks. It was a mistake and we just wanted the restaurant to acknowledge it by offering some sort of a goodwill gesture. Its quite subjective as to what is sufficient... 2 soft drinks? 4 soft drinks? refund voucher? cover for hospital bill? I have no opinion on this - I'm writing this so others can be aware. Know your rights as a customer; discounted voucher or not. We didn't and we just didn't want to blow it out of proportion anyway. <br/><br/>We stayed on. We had the pizza (huge serving) and it was good! Ice cream was good too. Staff still came periodically; asked us if we were okay with the food, drinks, brought us more water, etc - we really appreciate this. We couldn't finish our pizzas and manager kindly put it in a takeaway box for us. Dinner ended on a good note except for one person's minor food poisoning. I still feel perfectly fine. <br/><br/>If it weren't for the bread, I would have highly recommended this place - service was good, ambience was nice and pizza was great. I just hope when it comes to food and beverage, restaurants would be more careful, that's all.
Mumofonedog
Massive disappointment. We dined on a Wednesday evening. The restaurant was half full. When the staff directed us to a table next to a very loud patron we asked to be seated at a quieter table. He would not do it, so our whole evening was ruined by a loudmouth, turned towards our table having a conversation with another patron on the other side of us. There was no reason for this staff member to leave us at this table. There were at least 15 other empty tables we could have sat at, which stayed empty the rest of the night. <br/><br/>The wine served to us, along with the meal was actually very nice. We could not fault the food, it was cooked to perfection, but, the attitude of this staff member has ensured no more future visits from us.

Enjoyed the food during a function with set menu. Had a nice chorizo entree and spaghetti marinara main which was beautiful. Tiramisu dessert wasn't too bad but have had better. Service was helpful and reasonably attentive for a large function of 50+.

Awesome Place. I came here on a recommendatio from a friend. I brought my 85yo Nonna, parents and an assortment of guys in their 20's. Everyone loved the food. The entree pizza was beautiful, I wish I could have eaten more but I was holding out for my prawn and mushroom pasta. It was incredible! Everyone loved their meals. The pizza's are massive, the guys couldnt even finish them. The waiters wrapped them up for takeaway.<br/><br/>The only downfall was the service was a bit slow, because they have to deal with a split restaurant. But they were so nice and accommodating when we did get their attention that it didnt matter. Will definitely be back.

Good food spoiled by poor presentation. The restaurant has a pretty cheap, tacky feel to it (plastic chairs!) but the food was actually good. <br/><br/>Ate the Bistecca ai Gamberi - wasn't overcooked, came in a decent portion size and tasted quite good.<br/><br/>Could have done with a larger selection of beers - perhaps something local like Little Creatures.

Great!. We dined here as the result of a Scoopon. I have to say, we were very pleasantly surprised. I had the calamari to start, which was delicate and light. Yum. I opted for the portifino pizza (large). This was the best pizza I have eaten since living in Perth. Be warned, the large pizza is HUGE! The 'cheesecake' wasnt great, and the service was a bit slow, but that's my only criticism. Great, good value place for a bite.

Don't Provide Scoopons if you don't want to do this.. Well we went there on Sun nite 24 July. Have used scoopons before and not had any trouble but this place was totally different. We walked in [with a booking and told them we had scoopon] and where put under the air conditioner[quite cold that nite] Asked if we wanted a drink that was fine, but we didn't see the drink waiter again at all after that. A bottle of wine [of the month] came with the meal but to me it was a clear skin bottle of wine that had their sticker on it and this was worth 30 dollars, I think not. Asked if i could change this to another bottle because i don't drink dry white and was told if i paid the difference i could but the bottle i wanted was 27 dollars, go figure. Then the waiter came back and said no sorry can't do that try the beer or cider, a brand i had never heard of before so i went with the dry wine and drank that [yuck]<br/>I will admit the food was really very nice but the service or lack of it , we weren't even offered water but had water glasses on the table.Entree and main meals was just <br/>basically thrown at us we didn't even hang around for dessert. I just wanted to leave before i said something quite nasty. I get the scoopons to try different resturants out and then return later on and word of mouth is the best advertisement in my book but i will not recomend this place at all.

Loud soft rock.. It's quite an odd looking restaurant. The decor is a bit garish and there's a few big tv screens that dominate, and unfortunately during our visit were pumping out a pretty ordinary Italian? rock concert. It does have a certain warmth though and it was quite busy even though we ate at 6 which created a nice atmosphere. We had garlic bread which was a bit burnt on the crust and my lemon squash tasted like it came out of a bottle that was opened a week ago. Quite strange as I noticed cans in the fridge. I had a large pizza for main which was enormous. It was woodfired but the sauce was a tad watery and it was just a bit uninspiring. Our two kids shared a small pizza which was enough for them and probably enough for most people. My husband had a steak which looked great and he really enjoyed. For dessert I had a tiramisu which was massive and beautiful. Prices are standard, about $20 for a large pizza and $36 for a steak.

Really disappointing. Lets start with the positives, the service and attitude of the staff is fantastic. However, the food really lets this place down! My partner and I went there using a Scoopon, we both had the entree of calamari, it was quite nice, the batter was a bit flowery but the calamari itself was cooked well. I had the Agello Arrasto (lamb) for mains, the lamb it self was cooked and seasoned well, however the cous cous had obviously been pre-made and came out in a gluggy mess with a few vegetables in it. The sauce was over powering and detracted from the taste of the dish. My partner had the Scalloppine (pork), once again the whole dish was destoyed by a very, very sweet marsalla sauce that was the consistency of honey. He had a couple of bites and then just stopped eating.<br/><br/>The serving sizes are generous but to be honest I would prefer small serving sizes of a higher quality.

Great food & Service. I went to have dinner at Cafe Bellavista with my husband and in-laws on Tuesday's night. The service is prompt and very firendly. We were treated like royal family. For entree we ordered soup of the day, Baby Calamari Dusted in Flour and Fried, and Arancini Fritti. The soup is very refreshing, Baby Calamari was cooked very nicely. They are very soft and tender. For Main, we ordered from Special of the Day Menu and all of us really enjoyed our dish. The food is cooked beautifully. It didn't take long for the food to come out. The serve portion is huge but we managed to clean up our plates because they food are so good. I would go back again for more.

We enjoyed. Went with my partner last night with our scoopon, we ordered grilled steak topped with tiger prawns, gilled fish, and a small pizza. the food is cooked perfect, and the service is also good. but the price is bit too expensive, if there is no scoopon we wont go again.

Nice and big portion. We went to Bellavista last night with scoopon, wow for $90 we could spend we ate too much! I ordered Chicken parmigiana (really big portion) and my husband ordered fish of the day. Small pizza for entree was really good. <br/>Dessert tiramisu was really yummy! Next time we need to empty our tummy first...

Fantastic Cafe. We had the pleasure of discovering Cafe Bellavista tonight for a family dinner. From the moment we entered, we were treated to terrific, friendly, efficient service and lovely food. It was very welcoming to families and the kids meals were terrific value at $11.95 for a great size meal, cool drink and a Paddle Pop. The bruchetta was lovely with very fresh ingredients. We'd definately dine here again.

Ok so we purchased a $24 scoopon voucher to dine at Cafe Bellavista, for $24 you received bruschetta, 2 large pizzas and a choice of a bottle of Margaret River white or red or 4 Gage roads beers. We chose Thursday night to try our cheap eat bargain and for the price it was ok. The bruschetta needed a tad more olive oil, the pizza bases were slightly burnt... However the toppings were fresh and tasty, not the best pizza I had eaten, but who's going to argue for $24 for 2! The decor was interesting and the toilets are in the hotel foyer. Large flat screen tv in the restaurant a huge no no in my books, even though they were playing The Eagles in concert DVD. The service was excellent our waiter was very kind and attentive without being in your face. The only stumbling block Of the night was they only had white wine available and our voucher said white or red.. obviously we wanted the latter. And they could only give us red if we paid $10 more. That said I now have a cheap white wine headache.

Depends what you order!. I had a really good spaghetti marinara here recently. Lately I have been wondering if Perth restaurants have forgotten how to make a tasty pasta sauce. Spag or fettuccine marinara is the dish I always go for if it is on the menu but the last few I have had have been bland and boring. This one was fantastic. Got my usual dash of cream added and the sauce was rich, thick and creamy. Devoured it.<br/><br/>On the other hand, my partner ordered the 'lightly dusted squid'. We could not believe it when it came out. An absolute MOUNTAIN of tiny bits and pieces of squid in a batter that was quite tasty if you only ate a few bits. Weirdly, there was some green salad UNDER the mountain, so that immediately went soggy and unappetising from the heat of the squid. It would have been an immediate improvement if they put the salad on the side so it remained fresh, and the squid was in larger pieces so you got less batter. My partner is a big man and a big eater but he felt sick after eating a small amount of the squid from all the batter and left it largely uneaten (unheard of for either of us).<br/><br/>We aired our concerns with the waiter and he took on the constructive criticism, charged half price for the squid (plus the rest 25% off with our Entertainment voucher), and gave our voucher back to request that we return again and try something else. So I give them that. I would return again for the marinara, my partner will pick something else!

Impressed!. My partner and I were pleasantly surprised by this little East Perth gem. We had initially set out with the idea of having a cheap night out with medium expectations of the generic Italian food kind (a la Siena's or Amaretto's). We certainly did not expect the wonderful food experience that we encountered at Cafe Bellavista, which I think is probably one of the best budget Italian restuarants in Perth (on par with Romany's).<br/><br/>From the outset, the restaurant looks like your average Italian cafe/family restuarant. It is adjoined next door to a budget hotel/motel, so it would be easy to dismiss this little Italian wonder based on first appearances, however as we entered we were welcomed by the friendly waiter, and we were impressed by the cheery, casual yet modern exterior. The restaurant was almost at full capacity, although we could still hear eachother talk without having to yell across the table. <br/><br/>The service was friendly and quick. We sat down in our corner and were excited to see there was a live singer entertaining the patrons with soft and lovely background music. It was definitely an awesome touch and created the perfect setting for a relaxing atmosphere.<br/><br/> We ordered the antipasto platter for starters to share and it was very generous portion wise (definitely too big for one). I ordered the gnocci and my partner ordered the fettucine. We didn't have to wait too long for our mains and even if we did, it would be so worth it. The food was amazing. It definitley had that home-made, traditional feel about it. The gnocci came with large home-made dumpings accompanied with the richest napoli sauce, with fresh basil and garlic and real shaved parmesan (not that cheap Krfat shit they serve at Sienna's). By far the best gnocci I have ever had. My partner's fettucine was also incredible. The pasta was covered in the creamiest sauce, which I think is really improtant for white pasta sauces and too often do cheap Italian restuarants fail with making their cream suaces 'milky' in texture. This sauce was perfect. It came with generous chunks of sun-dried tomato and plenty of pan seared chicken. It truly was the best Italian food we have ever had and at such a bargain. This place has budget prices for premium food. The pasta was filling and the suaces were rich and rustic...just how it should be. Of course by this point, we were far too full to eat desert :P <br/><br/>I would definitley reccommend this place to those who are looking at having a decent meal at a decent price. This place is also quite family friendly, so children would be welcome here.

Overall I was rather pleased that our dining experience was ok and not as bad as I had thought it may have been. The staff were friendly and our meals were promptly cooked. For $24 it was a fantastic dinner deal.

The spaghetti marinara was the star of the night, with the three of us enjoying the dish right from the word “go”. I haven’t had a marinara in a while, and that dish just reignited my interest in the dish, with a nice tasty tomato based sauce, well-cooked seafood, and a generous serving too.
