This place is to die for. A hidden little gem. Foni has the best service I have ever had and matches all the wines according to your meal.
Great service, felt welcomed by all, food was amazing! Try the duck with duck fat roasted potatoes! a competitive wine list, probably one of the best wine lists I've come across in Perth so far. Cheers guys.
Had a share steak here which was so much fun and amazing. I love a good share steak. This 1kg tomahawk was delicious! It came with duck fat potatoes as well which were drool worthy. Good service too which pleased me. I came here with the entertainment book and it was worth it.
Actual rating for this place is 3.5/5 but I rounded it up since 0.5s cannot be given. It was a busy Friday night and I was here for an event. Enjoyed the mixed berry mocktail which was not too sweet. Entrees were either the cold smoked salmon or pork belly. I personally preferred the pork belly dish more - it was crispy, juicy and warm. For mains we had the choice of barramundi or turkey. Both were good but the barramundi dish portion was larger. I liked the sauce which complimented the grilled vegetables and turkey slices in the turkey dish. Service was attentive and parking could be easily found along the main road
Certainly not the everyday ‘pub’ type menu!
Delicious, beautifully presented food and excellent, attentive staff. Wine menu was mind boggling.
We came upon this place while wandering from our hotel on our first night in Perth, and had such a lovely dinner here. The interior design is stunning, with impressive chandeliers, mood lighting, candles and vases of flowers throughout. I had the mushroom, leek and chestnut risotto, which is hands down the best risotto I've ever had! The mascarpone and truffle pecorino flavour was amazing. So smooth, creamy and flavoursome, and the risotto was cooked perfectly. I also liked how much of it there was - it easily filled me up. My husband enjoyed the beef burger which was also filling. The waitresses were friendly and professional. It was the perfect way to begin our Perth holiday.
We came here for a quick drink and nibble Both got the starter sized pork belly salad with watermelon and chips to share. It was nice but nothing amazing chips were standard and service was fast. I like the decor with chandeliers and there is lots of indoor or outdoor spaces. The ladies had mints and flowers which was a nice touch.
Mayfair Lane is a British pub, but not as we know it. The West Perth venue is not similar to other theme bars, with their faux Tudor façades and twee interiors. Mayfair Lane oozes cool Britannia. We reviewed this venue, then known as The Brown Fox, a few years ago. It was adequate and did everything it said on the box. With the addition of new owners Chris and Foni Pollitt, and a new Head Chef, everything has been stepped up a few notches.
Really great look pub, fancy even with the bling chandeliers! Great steak! Delicious fish pie with big chunks of salmon! Would have been better with a pastry top tho!
Service and atmosphere were great, food was average unfortunately. Don't order the goats cheese cigars if you're hungry, they were barely entree size.
I'll probably return and give it another chance as despite the food not living up to the hype we had a really enjoyable night here.
I was invited along to check out the new Mayfair Lane gastropub in West Perth a couple of months ago with a few local Perth food bloggers. Initially I turned down the invite as I wasn’t sure if there’d be a strong wine angle that would suit the Travelling Corkscrew – I was luckily wrong! After chatting with the Mayfair Lane team, I found out that they LOVE their wine and owner Foni is just as much of a wine geek as I am.
Foni and Chris made a great day even better, great food, great wine, fantastic decor with all the little finishing touches that make the good great.
