Really enjoyed our day at The Partisan.
A great variety of food, coffee and drinks with beer on tap and lunch specials they were still happy to cook after 5pm. Ordered the chilli mussels which was one of the best I’ve had. Plump, fresh oysters, cooked perfectly in a great sauce that we soaked up with garlic bread. Very accommodating staff and a beautiful spot by the water.
Awesome location with a beautiful view and a nice outdoor set up. Food and service are good. One of the best places in the area.
I had a delicious wild mushrooms, with poached eggs, avocado, asparagus, and hollandaise sauce - it was incredible! Lovely friendly service in a beautiful location.

An excellent location under a delightful tree with good shade and lots of umbrellas. You can choose shaded, filtered light and sunny tables. Lovely staff .... and best of all very good food at excellent prices. On a comparison with its neighbour Toast it is far better value for money, far better food and by a huge margin far better staff.
Definitely one of the best waterside cafe resturants in Perth.

I gave them 4 stars just because they make yummy chocolate drinks! We were not overly hungry to try their main dishes, just a quick bite of their chorizo appetizers. Very tasty, by the way! But this place had just an amazing view of the river, I love it. It’s a popular place for people on their way to watch the game. Excellent service from staff too. We’ll have to come here again next time to try their food!

Came here for Sunday breakfast, as you can imagine it was pretty busy. Saying that the service was very good and once ordered the meals came out pretty quick. Coffee was excellent. I had the breakfast burger and have been thinking about it all week- it was divine. Think Ill be back there this weekend lol
Came here for breakfast before work on Thursday... soo much quieter then the restaurant toast next door. The menu isn't as extensive but the presentation, serving size and quality of food is a lot better by my standards. The service was lovely and everything was just wonderful!!
Thr service was great and of course friendly staff who were super helpful. I enjoyed the view and the meal. Will visit again for sure. Thank you.
Eggs Benny was good but nothing special. Very nice setting. Could have done with more hollandaise sauce. Too many people are stingy with it and it's only egg yolk butter and lemon. Maybe they think that's enough and maybe it's enough for people but roughly 4 tblsp is not enough. Bread wasn't buttered so lacked some moisture but we got 3 pieces of thin bread which was nice. I'm a big fan of thick soft toasted bread but can't please everyone. Friendly staff and the poor guy there needs a hand. He was flat out by himself running the floor

The Partisan is a lovely cafe situated on the banks of Claisebrook Cove in East Perth . It is open daily from 7am till late . One can have Champagne with ones breakfast, if one so desires . Being a Resident of East Perth we go there often . We have had their breakfast ,lunch & dinner . I even had a special Birthday party there recently, which was a huge success . The Menu is eclectic though it favours the French cuisine somewhat . The choices are excellent .One can have as little or as much as one desires . Breakfast here is a treat .There is so much to choose from . On a fine day it is very pleasant to sit "al fresco " & enjoy the beautiful view over the water . Dinner in the evening is very romantic especially on a balmy Summers night .I thoroughly recommend this cafe with its lovely ambience . The wine list which also includes beer , spirits & cocktails is excellent. The service is friendly & efficient . Go there & enjoy .
Haven't been here in years and we were pleasantly surprised- food was fresh. Salad was nice with Beetroot and dried chickpeas. Green juice was bottled but great quality. The only negative was another person on the table also ordered a salad and they got the included broad beans but I got none. Staff were nice ✔️
Very enjoyable setting. Beautiful scenery, near so much luscious greenery and the beautiful river. Very upbeat area. Can get quite busy. Menu is fantastic with very interesting choices. Wide range of breakfast selections. Plates and dishes are presented nicely. Quite willing to accomodate intolerances and allergies.
My friends and I enjoyed a lovely evening by the water at the Partisan. Service was quick and very friendly. Food was amazing and plenty of vegetarian options. Desserts - yummy! Will definitely be back.

Great location for a meal . Service was really fast and the meal time was super quick . Eggs cooked perfectly. The best field mushrooms in Perth and coffee was lovely. We were happy and full when we left this cafe 😀
Nice spot for lunch on the east perth inlet, variety of food was good, i had the chicken sub which was nice but i think a little over priced for what u got, pumkin soup was good as well for half the price of the sub
We booked for an early dinner (6pm) And much to our surprise the restaurant was empty, however it began to slowly fill as our night progressed. Not quite sure what 'The Partisans' overall decorative theme is, the atmosphere was a little off, but none the less - The food was served hot and exuded lots of flavor. I definitely recommend trying their home made lemonade infused with rosemary though! We'll be back to sample their breakfast menu in the near future for sure.
One of my favorite location in Perth, so pretty, great atmosphere, friendly staff, and super tasty food. I keep on coming back, and always enjoy everything!
Lovely place by the water in East Perth. Coffee is great and food is delicious. Couldn't ask for more after a run. Definitely a place to come back again and try different dishes.

The best breaky I've had in ages! I'm pretty picky and have trouble deciding on what to have so I loved that I could pretty much build my own breaky! Poached eggs on toast with avocado, fetta and roast pumpkin! My boyfriend had the full breakfast. The poached eggs were the best most perfect poached eggs ever! I tried some of his tomatoes and they were amazing, I don't know why because it's just tomato right, but it was so good haha! We both absolutely loved it! Lovely atmosphere and super friendly staff. You could see them all working well as a team together in the kitchen. All smiling but working hard on keeping the place running smoothly.
Unfortunately I'd already had a coffee before arriving so didn't get to try their coffee so will have to do so next time as I'm very fussy with coffee and haven't yet found one better than Ootong & Lincoln in South Fremantle.
Excellent place and whoever owns this place should be so proud of their staff and the passion that obviously goes into the service and food.
Came here for my birthday brunch with my family, I ordered the shakshuka and was very pleased with it. Everyone got their meals on time and no one had a single complaint. Was offered a very nice table with nice views, I prefer this place over the Royal now.
Great food and beautiful setting but slack service. Had to hail for service each time, and drinks service was never anticipated which is pretty poor. That said, it's a nice place to spend an afternoon and for roughly $30 a head for lunch, drinks and coffee you can't really complain.
40 guests at my wife's 40th birthday were well fed and watered. Partisan staff handled the night (a busy Saturday) effortlessly. Their service was seamless and nobody was left wanting at any stage. Wine and food was up to Partisan's usual high standard, and management was responsive and easy to deal with in accommodating all our pre-party requests.
Just had the most delicious pork belly I have ever eaten. Great spot and friendly, attentive staff. Not my first visit and definitely won't be my last.
Gorgeous little European cafe on the water, quirky menu with non breakfast favourites so great if you want to try something different! The home made baked beans were delish! Good coffee blend and option to sit in or outside.
Warning: the one pan breakfast does not come in a pan. My husband was so disappointed. Such an average big breakfast was served. I ordered the courgette however which was delicious - needed to be served on a bigger plank or plate though, it was so hard to keep the food from going on the table.

Him Indoors and I visited for a casual Sat dinner. You can't find it from the street...you have to go down to the waterfront.
They couldn't find our booking at first despite our only having run about two hours prior but they did seat us.
For the size and style of restaurant it's a bit overpriced but we did enjoy what we ordered.
First time at The Partisan, and I could not fault the food at all. I dine out multiple times per week and I was most impressed with the menu, and how great every dish tasted. That night I ordered duck liver parfait with pine nuts, corn and shredded chicken soup, pork belly (amazing), vanilla creme brûlée, and ginger pudding. I must say I had low expectations after seeing that the restaurant was only half full on the Saturday night we visited, and I'm not sure why that was, maybe the cold weather outside at the time. Seats were not so comfortable and venue was a little cold but those were my only faults. I dine out at least twice a week to tapas restaurants , and this is now my new favourite!
A little on the pricey side but you can tell the food is really good quality and some of the bigger dishes are enough to share. We had the salmon and gnocchi and it was absolutely delicious. The desserts, the $4.50 ones, were very small and not really worth it.
Great spot for a sunny breakfast. On the waterfront is very nice. The location is everything here. Been many times and generally happy with food but the service can be patchy. If you can't get a table when you go the Royal insect door and they are good too if they are open that is.
I just don't understand the bad reviews for this place... Went today for breakfast with a big group of girls and every single one of the meals were amazing! Highly recommend the Continental Breakfast!
Work Xmas Lunch. While it was an extremely hot day (39) and so quite uncomfortable to be seated outside, I felt the food and service provided today was tasty and efficient. The wait people were very busy but were always polite and helpful . The food was from a set menu selection but appeared to meet the needs of a fairly large group. I ate the asparagus and avocado salad and flourless orange cake both of which were very enjoyable.
I think it would be good if Partisan could adopt the mist cooling idea of its adjoining restaurants to provide a more comfortable outdoor setting for its patrons.
What's not to like :). Stayed in East Perth for the weekend and ate at The Partisan three times.... Beautiful spot by the Cove. Some really great flavours on the menu especially the Duck & Pear Tortillas and the Roast Beetroot Salad. Service not too bad but food did take awhile to arrive. The carafe of Pimms went down particularly well.... Only downside was the coffee which was very average compared to Toast next door and the mushrooms at breakfast.... tasted like they'd been stewed in oil... Mushrooms need to be cooked in butter and garlic with plenty of seasoning!!!
Pleasantly surprised. On a lovely Spring morning, a perfect breakfast location. A bit wary because of other reviews but the food was good, staff very attentive and friendly. Some serves are way too big (no wonder we're a nation of fat people). I'd recommend sharing the big breakfasts. My coffee tasted like nectar by the time I got it.
Delicious breakfast. Great location overlooking the canals of East Perth, but first class breakfast! We hardly waited 10 minutes for our breakfast to come out. Fantastic presentation, you can see everything was freshly prepared. Energetic and efficient staff, delicious coffee topped with a wonderful varied menu, what more could you want.

Great breakfast spot. Staying at the Sebel Residence this was the obvious choice for breakfast. Great location overlooking the river, small and personal. Delicious breakfast - continental breakfast had a bit of everything, very clever. Fresh fruit juices rounded off our breakfast. Parking nearby is limited.
The one pan breaky is a hit!. My partner and I dined in for brunch over the long weekend, I ordered the one pan breakfast and he ordered the egg benedict with a side of bacon. Although his eggs benedict was a little sad looking, my breakfast was huge and so after pushing the mushrooms, a few sausages and a tomato on to his plate things looked a little more filling for him. A chilled atmosphere and a cool venue looking over the water in East Perth. We dined here because of the entertainment book and would come back but only for the one pan breaky in order to get our money's worth
Overpriced. The food is good, but the serves are ridiculously small - $8 for 4 tiny pieces of sourdough is expensive even for Perth. Great location for a Sunday lunch, but a more reasonable tapas menu would be good.
We were originally going to eat at Toast but couldn't be bothered waiting in the line, so got some breakfast from here. It was totally worth it, the coffee was delicious and the continental breakfast was perfect. I would definitely go back.
Excellent. Service was fantastic. Food excellent. The menu isn't that extensive for either the food or the wine but they do have a blackboard special. The restaurant was full with couples and groups for Saturday night dinner. We had the Larder Board which had a big selection of different foods and it all tasted fresh and really good. We both had the pork belly and it was divine. Great crackle and the meat just fell apart. I loved the roasted beetroot and goats cheese that it was served on. It complimented the pork and pears very well. Great location on Claisebrook Cove right on the water. It was cold and wet on the night but if you do have to sit outside they do give you blankets. All in all it is an excellent restaurant and we will return.

Lovely views here at the Partisan. Service for a weekday breakfast was excellent too. The jerez eggs were amazing but my only criticism is that it was a bit on the small side. The ham and Swiss cheese croissant was also lovely as well, and very fresh. Coffees were very good too. I look forward to coming back again.
Lovely on a Winter's evening. After reading the other reviews I thought The Partisan may be a bit hit and miss. But it was a hit for us. We were greeted by a delightful French waitress who was wonderful throughout the evening - always smiling, accommodating, helpful... such as bringing our lap blankets at the end of the evening as we chose to sit outside. The larder board, whilst not innovative was a great as an entree for sharing and featured many comfortable ol' favourites. For main I had the pork belly and it was a just fine - loved those preserved pears. Overall it was acceptable value for money, lovely setting and good service.
Pleasantly surprised!. My partner and I were both sceptical to try this restaurant, given the average reviews on here. However, after being coersed by friends we decided to give it a go. We had a very lovely evening - we had a pasta dish and steak and both were really delish. Our waitress was super helpful and always smiling, too! We'll be back :)
Delicious and friendly. Enjoyed a relaxed and delicious dinner with friends here last night. Staff were friendly, although a bit confused as to who was looking after which tables I think. Larder board was a lovely start. Two pork bellies, one lamb pasta and one chicken - all delicious, although chicken a bit overcooked for the diner. Reasonable price, good selection of drinks on the menu and enjoyed the entertainment book discount as well. The restaurant wasn't too busy which was nice, a great vibe. I'm sure we'll be back some time.

Duck pate is to die for so is the chicken and chirirzo sausage dish but way too big for one person which we made the big mistake and wasted so much because it was just way too much for 1 person

Average food. Great location and outdoor seating are way better than Toast. But service at Toast is way better!
We originally intended on going to the royal brassiere but they had to turn us away as there would be an hour wait for food because they were packed. So as we walked away, we walked past this rustic cafe. We looked at the menu and decided to give it a try. Delicious! All their foods were so flavorful. The soup was amazing! The chicken sandwich was tasty and the coffees were good too. Service was a little lacking as we had to get our own menus, order at the counter and they messed up our bill but overall the food made up for it. It had a good atmosphere, we say outside enjoying the breeze and boats passing by. I enjoyed it.
Pleasant surprise. Had I read the Urbanspoon reviews before dining here I wouldn't have bothered. However a friend took me there after a disappointing entrée at the nearby Royal On the Waterfront. I had the slow cooked pork belly and my friend the paprika crusted half chicken with chorizo. Both perfect meals for a cold wet and windy night. Tasty, hearty and ample servings. Followed by rhubarb crumble for dessert. I was really impressed with the food and the service was friendly and as attentive as we needed. I'll be back.

Nice view. Had breakfast here recently, a lovely set up and with a beautiful view of the water. The food was nice, nothing out of the ordinary. The disapointment was from the service. Our breakfast came out 15 minutes apart, when dining with only one other person I wouldn't have thought it too hard to bring a plate of toast and a plate of scrambled eggs out at the same time!

The lower level of 'likes' had put me off trying The Partisan in the past, however a small group of us we're looking to go out for a meal last Saturday, somewhere close, and my friend suggested it.
It was lovely and cosy on a cold winter's night and the wait staff were pretty good (especially the waiter from Reunion Island who was excellent). We shared two larderboards and the duck liver parfait to start. The larderboards are delicious and beautifully presented. The duck liver parfait was a little flavourless, and we ran out of bread to have the parfait with (I would suggest serving it with a couple extra slices).
I had the lamb shank for mains, which was delicious and my friends who chose the pork belly were very happy with their meal. Those who had the steak said it was overcooked (i.e. a request for rare was medium).
The chocolate pudding for dessert was to die for, no complaints there.
Overall we really enjoyed it, and would definitely go there again. I think The Partisan deserves a higher percentage of likes and is worth a try if you haven't been before.
As an added bonus, The Partisan is in the gold section of the Entertainment Book so we enjoyed a welcome discount on our meal!
The poor percentage for the Partisan made me reluctant to try, however so glad I did. Food was really tasty and service was friendly on a busy Sunday morning. Like many others I wanted to eat at Toast but it is always impossibly busy. It was great to have a bit of space! Coffee was pretty good and food arrived quickly. My only complaint is that the table water tasted awful, and the taste of the water made the tea unpalatable. Maybe invest in a water filter? Overall a good experience and hope to be back soon.
Gorgeous food and view. We have eaten lunch at the Partisan twice this year and have loved both visits. We had friendly and attentive wait staff who ensured we had everything we requested. It is a beautiful spot by the water and the food is very tasty. Well done to all staff who work here. We would recommend the restaurant to all.

Food is quite good. The entrees were amazing - go the white anchovies! Service is very friendly but a little inattentive but forgetful more than anything. Twice forgot drink orders. Get service right, and this could be a real contender.

We both had the risotto on Saturday night and it was stunning. The flavours were unique and so tasty. The service was friendly and efficient.

Nice surprise!. After reading some negative reviews, decided to try it again last night. Lovely cool evening so sat outside. Food was very enjoyable. Larder Board was more than sufficient for 2 people, but managed to fit in Pork Belly as well. Service ok but had to continually look for waiter/waitress. Restaurant was very busy but only 3 staff on. Could be so much better if more staff to service customers, although staff were always pleasant. Overall quite satisfied & would go again.
Not as bad as the reviews made me think it would be. Went here for dinner with a friend last night, despite the patchy reviews. We found it to be lovely. We booked a table inside but they had kept us a table outside since it was such a nice night.
Service was good, we were given menus straight away and glasses of wine appeared promptly. We ordered the sourdough for starters which again came without delay. We each ordered the 1/2 chicken which was delicious. Not an excessive wait between courses, as some people have mentioned, all in all a good night.

Nice Food, Weird Service. Nice looking restaurant in East Perth overlooking the water. We were looking for somewhere to eat along here and were attracted to this place because of the cool decor, great seating area outside and the yummy-looking brunch/lunch menu.
We waited by the "please wait to be seated" sign and were ignored by several non-busy looking wait staff for a few minutes. Eventually, a woman already serving someone else noticed us and told us just to sit wherever we wanted. We opted to sit outside where there was a cool breeze, but deviated from the table that had days-old bird poop caked on it. I kind of got the feeling we were being a massive pain in her backside for just being there. A young waiter guy just sort of handed/threw the menu's at us, without explaining any of the specials. In Perth, this sort of stuff is pretty standard, so at this point we weren't deterred or surprised.
We perused our menu's for about 10 minutes and during this time, I noticed little congregations of wait-staff hovering about an arm-length away from us just having causal conversations about their personal lives, while other wait staff were busy trying to serve other diners. The strangest thing about this place is that for a small to medium-sized restaurant, they have a lot of staff out and about on the floor, which makes you think the service would be top-notch. However, a lot of the time, you just see the staff sitting around at tables or standing in groups talking which can actually make for an awkward experience. Like, do I only ask the waitress that looks busy for assistance or do I interrupt your convo and ask the non-busy ones for help?
After a waitress came to take our orders, the service had improved slightly. This time we received manners and a smile, which was nice.
The food was awesome. We had the larder board to share. It was one of the best share-plates I have ever had. The terrine was delicious, the prosciutto was amazing, the lentil/split pea dip and pickles were all so delicious and were beautifully presented. I thought it was very good value. My eggs and beans were well cooked and my boyfriend's beef sandwich with hand cut chips was also very nice. My only complaint would be that my strawberry milkshake was served warm. This made me feel a bit queasy and I only drank half of it due to concerns of food poisoning. Thumbs up for using real strawberries though.
Overall, I liked and thoroughly enjoyed the food here. It's just a shame about the weird service. P.S. Please wipe down your outdoor seating area. I do not want dried bird poo with my meal.
Fantastic service- which is seriously hard to find in Perth! Great coffee & the eggs benny was really good. Don't bother the rude staff next door at Toast- I prefer great service any day! Liz was excellent & made me feel welcome & appreciated
Nice enough but nothing startling. A couple of stuff ups with gluten free requests but food was ok/nice when we got it. Service ok...prices typical Perth but no surprises there.
We had breakfast on a Saturday morning. The setting is nice with a great view, service is a bit slow with food taking about 45 minutes but couldn't fault the meals, the chick pea and beans braise with poached eggs were all cooked perfect and the Jerez eggs lovely also, a bit on the pricey side but a solid restaraunt none the less
Great customer service. We had a party of 10, including 2 toddlers and a baby. We had a pram and we went for brunch on Saturday, when they were super busy. We moved tables 3 times in search of the best space, and they couldn't have been more accommodating of our awkward and inconvenient group. The good was delicious and came in good time. My only suggestion would be baby change facilities in the toilets.
We lived across the road from Partisan for a couple of months- best couple of months of our lives!! Best soy chai latte, best choice of breakie- always super fresh & full of flavour, and absolutely awesome service :-) The funky, urban atmosphere inside and the beautiful scenery outside definitely make this place one of our favourite hang-outs in Perth :-) Just perfect!
Great Service, got our meals super fast - great start to the morning. I ordered the Atlantic Benedict which was fine. The wife had scrambled eggs and bacon which she thoroughly enjoyed!
A Great Find!. We stumbled in to the Partisan by accident this evening after being disappointed at a nearby restaurant where we went for our wedding anniversary dinner. But our "accident" meant that we found a lovely little restaurant with a great atmosphere, friendly staff and good value for money. We'll be back!
Good spot. Found The Partisan in the good food guide. Small but interesting menu. My wife and I ordered the larder plate for entree. It. Was very tasty with a good diversity of selections. The mains were good portions and delicious. I had the lamb pot roast which was very tasty. A quite limited wine list is the only slight downside. Good and attentive service. I would recommend the Partisan and will certainly go back. Maybe breakfast next time?

Well worth a visit. We had Jerez eggs and mushrooms on a sweet bread with Camembert and rocket, both dishes absolutely delicious.
Totally filled my bf's cravings and hes a fussy eater! Thats saying something. A little pricey for typical breakfast but totally worth it.
Good brekky!. Went here for breakfast in a group of six- we were going to go to Toast but the wait was too long! Having not heard many good things about the Partisan we were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food- between us we tried the buttermilk pancakes, Jerez eggs and beans with morcilla sausage on sourdough, along with the banana-honey smoothie and many cappucinos! Could not fault the food, however it took nearly 40 minutes for it to come out, by which time we were starving. I would probably only go back if I was prepared for a long wait!
Great sunday lunch. After the week of bad weather we went to the partisan for Sunday lunch and got just what the location called for, great food sound service & good value! Will be coming back

I had a lamb pot roast, with I think a spinach and ricotta pastry of some sort. To be honest I wasn't the biggest fan of the roast, but I think due to being sick my senses were not attuned enough to pick up te flavour.
Nice setting, good service, will be back at some stage.

Not too Bad at all. I have been to breakie at the Partisan as Toast was full. Didn't think that much of it. Wasn't horrible but nothing stood out, to make me want to return... However a friend organised dinner there recently.
It wasn't very busy but had a beautiful atmosphere at night. The staff were very attentive and friendly. The food was delicious. (Had duck)
We were also the last ones left in the restaurant at about 1130 however we never felt like we were pushed out the door or made to feel like leaving... something that rarely happens in Perth!!! No stacked chairs!! So would def consider going again for dinner...

Positive surprise. A friend and I had a plan to go to the Toast for Sunday lunch but as usual, the place was packed and we just wandered to the neighboring restaurant, The Partisan. Despite of neither of us really having heard anything specifically good about the place previously, we were positively surprised. I had the pasta of the day: fettuccine with roast chicken breast, wild mushrooms, spinach and goat cheese. My companion had a roast beef sandwich with chips. All the ingredients appeared fresh and of good quality and the pasta was very good indeed.
Afterwards we had a chai latte, a soy cap and two white chocolate - raspberry muffins. The soy cap was watery and weak (which is unfortunately very usual in Perth, have no clue why. Do you baristas really add some water in it besides the soy milk...?) and the wheat muffins were a bit dry, it was a bit unclear that where the white chocolate and raspberries were. The muffins were served with two different jams which made them go down fairly smoothly. Each lunch, including the drink and the dessert cost $34 which is a fairly reasonable price in Perth. Could have been cheaper but the nice river views add to the price I assume.
Good breakfast! My friend and I were looking for somewhere for breakfast, and stumbled upon this place. Service was good, they were very friendly. Really nice location near the water which is really relaxing and the food was delicious. Orange juice tasted freshly squeezed and the buttermilk pancakes were fabulous.
Check it out!. We were walk-ins on a beautiful autumn afternoon and we were immediately greeted and offered a table of our choice. It was really hot so we sat inside, although the tables under the trees outside looked very inviting. The food leaving the kitchen looked superb so I was anticipating a yummy lunch and I wasn't disappointed. We ordered the larder board - an offering containing terrine, sausage, olives, cheese and other yummy delights - and the beetroot and spiced carrot salad. For the two of us we could have just had the larder board and that would have been more than enough. The food was delicious, the service prompt and cheerful and the location superb. We'll be going back at some point soon I hope!
Yummy vegan brunch, great setting.. My friend and I did the usual thing of trying to get into Toast next door one Sunday morning. Missing out, I suggested Partisan - without much hope, since many reviews suggested it was a poor substitute for Toast.
We got a pleasant surprise when we ordered a vegan feast of mushrooms, spinach and tomatoes - all were listed as side dishes - on sourdough toast. Servings were very generous, well-cooked, though a little slow in arriving. Price was very reasonable at $12 - 13! Coffee was fine. View was relaxing, service alright. No complaints at all!
Had a lovely valentines dinner at the venue. Service and meal portions were great, only problem was parking . Had to walk along way but it was worth it in the end
Good breakfast! I came last year and didn't think it was very good however the breakfast this morning. Get was great.
Great location, food not too bad either. I went into the Partisan on a busy Sunday morning, and we were warned there was a 30min wait on breakfast. That was ok so we waited and had coffees in the meantime. I really like the coffee table and lounge area, which my friend's son enjoyed sitting at and playing with his toys while we chatted. My eggs benedict were pretty good, served simply and a little small but enough to satisfy.

I stumbled across the Partisan on Sunday just gone. I had arrived at the WACA early to reserve my seat for the cricket, had 2 hours to kill and needed to have breakfast. I have never been to any of the restaurants at Claisebrook Cove, but knew they existed. My intention was to have breakfast at Toast, due to the score it had received on Urbanspoon. Like so many others, I arrived to discover a packed house. I also had a look at Toast's menu and felt it was a bit limited. So, I went next door to The Partisan and sat at a beautiful little 2 person table, ready to order (I wasn't greeted whilst perusing the menu, so seated myself.... This was the only low point of my visit). Once I had seated myself, a bottle of refrigerated tap water was brought to my table and as I had a menu already, I was asked if I'd like to start with a drink. Service was efficient and thoughtful. Aside from the initial hiccough, where I wasn't greeted and seated, I'd say it was some of the best service I'd received at a Perth restaurant. Even though there were plenty of other guests and even a couple of large groups they made sure I knew I was important to them. This alone would make me go back there (we all know how hard it is to find good service at Perth restaurants!!) I was asked if I was ready to order as they were about to take a couple of large orders and didn't want mine to get stuck at the end. I ordered the buttermilk pancakes with berry compote. The pancakes were delicious, if a little overloaded with berries. I also ordered a pineapple juice. On the menu it states that their juices are supplied by a juice company (can't recall the name, maybe Pure & Natural?). I was expecting pulp free, average pineapple juice. Instead, I was served one of the best pineapple juices I've ever had. It was fresh, pulpy and felt like I was drinking direct from a pineapple through a straw. $8.50 seemed a bit steep for a glass of juice, so I was relieved that I was so richly rewarded for my monetary sacrifice!! Admittedly, the order of enjoyment is as follows: pineapple juice; view; service; ambience; weather; coffee; pancakes; greet & seat; value for money. 4 stars - based mainly on the service.

Beautiful food and great location. We went here with a group of 4 on Thursday night, and were so pleased with all elements: The service was personable without being intrusive, the food was inspired and delicious (and very affordable!), and the portions were generous without sacrificing quality ingredients.
The larderboard was an excellent starter to share with a group, with ingredients clearly chosen for their quality. The artichoke dish was the best vegetarian dish I believe I've ever had (most restaurants don't put this much thought into creating a dish that a fraction of the patrons will order...)
Service, as mentioned, was personable and prompt, and the staff were very knowledgeable about their features and menu.
There may have been some poor reviews so far, but this is a new restaurant and as such, had some kinks to work out (as they all would...) I highly recommend trying this for the first time, or giving it another try if you felt there was room for improvement. The improvements have been made.

Quality food at a great price.. The Partisan represents great value. This is top notch food at a cafe price.
The 'Larder board' is fantastic value as a shared entree. Our mains were packed full of flavour. GF's goat fricassee on gnocchi? Wow! My wild mushroom risotto with truffles was SO MUCH BETTER than than other risottos I've had recently. There was a wait between entree and main but after stuffing ourselves with the larder board we actually appreciated it.
The Partisan does beautiful food. Shame the service is the let-down. Not taking orders when our menus are sitting closed shut, not offering another drink when glass is empty (though they have a fantastic range of wines by the glass) and not offering us desserts. The lights were on but no one was home. She would 'look' at each of the 4 tables she had to 'service' (I know. So many poor girl.) and then walk off, missing the bleeding obvious.
So, in short, LOVED the food, price is great but the service leaves a lot to be desired. Do try the larder board.

The food was wonderful, and even tho neither of us really felt like going out that night we forced ourselves and I must say by the end of the night our moods had turned right around and we were glad we went. Pleasant Surprise. At the end of a decent ride (3pm) on a beautiful spring day, East Perth was the last stop on the way home. But with the rugby union on and the Royal Bar and Brasserie very busy it was time the Partisan across the way got a run. There was only a hand full of people there, and lots of tables outside - so that made for an easy decision.
I started to get suspicious when I was told they were only serving a limited menu (there's a part menu served after noon and before dinner), so the larder board and a market salad it was.
Having that 'chef's off shift, I'm about to get second best' feeling I was truly surprised. Both salad and board were truly top notch.
The salad, as simple as it was had good quality ingredients and some thought put into it, for example both the radishes and the onion had been sliced thin enough to maintain the taste but not overpower the other ingredients. Why can't other venues think about things like this ! The walnuts, whilst not overly plentiful played a supportive role to the cheese and made for nice surprises. Again - full of flavour but not to the detriment of the other ingredients. It really was a Goldilocks salad - just right !
The larder board was also as good. Decent servings of quality ingredients and a decent amount of bread (don't you hate having to order additional bread when there's not enough supplied on the first round ?!). Personally I loved the rabbit terrine. I know some people get turned off by terrine, even moreso when there's game meat involved but this would be a great and gentle introduction into that world, not too strong but still allowing you to taste what terrine, and the core ingredient is like.
So with all that scoffed down, ably accompanied by a couple of Kronenbergs that was, a very enjoyable, that (note: their liquor license required that you had to be eating to be served alcohol - no trouble for me but keep that in mind if you're just looking for a few quiet ones under the sun or shade of an umbrella).
Much better than the Royal, more 'space', less noise, better food, more relaxed atmosphere, same view. A significantly more enjoyable option.
Have made a note to try the Partisan at a normal lunch time and see what else that menu holds....
We couldn't get in to Toast so came here, despite the reviews. The setting was absolutely glorious, with outdoor tables under shade sails and a tree, right by the water. We were warned about a wait on both food and coffees, and were pleasantly surprised when everything turned up much sooner than anticipated. The croque Monsieur and Madame were both super tasty, with a lovely, bitey cheese. Coffee was lovely, service was fine and the setting was fabulous. All up a great experience.
We came here on a Sunday morning and whilst the options on the breakfast menu were somewhat fewer than at Toast the food was just as good if not better. We ordered the croque Madame which was wonderfully flavored (I'm a avid toasted Sandwich lover) and Jerez eggs which came served in a funky little pan with a delicious side of flat bread. The coffee was great although the iced mocha was WELL overpriced at $7.50. Service was average but much better organized than Toast next door. Will definitely be back to eat brekky here again.
Staff were nice and let us order to suit not just what was on the menu. Breakfast was yum. Yes a bit slow but worth it. Also take bookings which is a bonus coz it's busy.
Had a great night interesting food reasonably priced. Food is slow to come out but it is a cozy place to wait for freshly cooked food. From other reviews it seems as if breakfast has a different cook. People who go in the evening like us have a better ecperience. You can use the reasonably priced entrees as tapas
Lovely Lunch!. We (myself, sister and father)came to The Partisan for the first time today. Gorgeous setting (made even more beautiful when a pod of dolphins decided to visit). It was quiet, the male waiter was very friendly and patient.
Wait time was alittle long, but nothing ridiculous, my father had the pork belly- it was divine, perfectly slow roasted. My sister had the sourdough and garlic toast, she enjoyed it (though the garlic was alittle difficult to spread as it was made of entire cloves). I ordered the pumpkin soup special but they hadn't updated the sign, so I ended up with the potato, leek and bacon soup (they apologised and offered me a choice of something else but I was happy to have it), it was very nice, perfect amount, my only complaint would be that the toast that accompanied it was plain white bread, I would've paired it with something more robust.
I would think I will be back again, the quality was very good for the prices and we were very satisfied all up!
Good meal. Had dinner here last night. The food was much better than the last time we were here. My wife had pappardelle with slow roasted lamb, mushrooms and sweet onions - not bad. The lamb had a delicious flavour but was a bit chewy. I had roast pork belly, courgette and gratin potatoes also with caramelised onions. This was well cooked and presented but the onions were placed on top of one piece of the pork crackling and made it go soggy. We also had a salad which was really excellent. Service was very good - our waitress was friendly, efficient and informed.

Go the Partisan. I am a Big fan of the Partisan. Anyone who says the food is low quality here has rocks in their head, I would take these reviews with a pinch of salt. The food really is outstanding. Have a chat with one of the chef owners if you are around late at night, they can talk to you about some of the provenance of their well sourced menu, and will do so with passion no doubt. I have! Try the stuffed artichokes and the octopus for starters, although I am in favour of ordering about five smaller dishes and just munching away. The goat gnocchi is definitely a standout for main. I enjoy the Partisan in the evening as I can relax here, its comfy inside and outside, there is little creatures beer on tap which is always a good thing, and yes it's a great location but not exactly like every other formal restaurant in a great location, if you know what I mean. This is what stands out about The Partisan. I believe they know what they are doing, and from what I can tell they are in for the long haul and WILL last. I think it is very nasty and presumptuous indeed to make the asinine prediction, "they will not last". But I guess time will tell, and I for one will be very happy to keep frequenting this nice spot. And I don't work there by the way, I just vehemently disagree with "Jack" !!
Very nice!. Have been here a few times for dinners and one breakfast. Can't fault the food it was all very tasty and good portion sizes. Great service and the location is brilliant! Looks really nice at night and would be a great place to go for a few drinks and light meal before heading out. I will definitely be going back!
More than satisfied. After organising a friends birthday there, the service was very prompt and friendly and all 10 of us left with tummys full and smiles on our faces.
The Larder board with the braised lentils was one of the groups favourites followed closely by the juicey Pork Belly.
I would Higly recommend giving this restaurant a go as its beautiful setting is just the begining of a fabulous dining experience. I also found it resonably priced for the quality of service and food.
Id give it 2 thumbs up! and cant wait to return!!

My girlfriends and i all agree that our visit to the partisan for lunch this weekend was absolutely faultless. Despite working over a holiday the staff actually looked happy to be there and catered to our every whim (villa maria sav blanc should be on tap!) and the food was AMAZING. Personally i never eat pasta when i'm out but i thought since i'd already eaten 80 easter eggs why the hell not? The goat gnocchi was the best thing i've ever eaten and along with the terrine we had for entree, the good company and the picturesque location (with good weather to boot) we stayed until closing time!

Good stuff. I moved to East Perth a year ago and was pleaseed to find a little bit of Melbourne tucked away in what is a bit of a culinary waste land. despite proximity to Mt Lawley there is a lot of chez average in East Perth. On the water though there are a couple of good players Partisan being one of them. I ve dined 3 times and coffeed a few more.
Service is friendly and welcoming, the menu tasty and balanced with generous portions for the price - can thoroughly recommend the "Larder Board" with a glass of Rose. Particularly fond of the aspect across the East Perth via duct.... this kitchen is doing some interesting stuff... well done team 8 outta 10!
A place to relax. This is a regular haunt. It's not the best food or service by any means, but we just like to sit outside by the water, unhurried, and nibble tapas style plates of food. The prices are high for what you get - but that's Perth.

Took some interstate guests to The Partisan on Tuesday night. Sensational food, wine and service. Our waiter was very attentive, recommended dishes and wine and told a funny oyster story. We ate and drank til late. Great oysters, rabbit pate and pork loin. Green beans and potatoes complimented it. Going back tomorrow night for my partners birthday. Can't wait! A real little secret in East Perth and beautiful near the water!

We had both never been there before so we were excited to try somewhere new and it was quite easy to find, right next to Toast in Claisebrook Cove. Even though they have plenty of tables outside in the shade it was boiling hot so we went for the preferred option, inside with the air-conditioner. As my dear friend described, it is almost a mix of the Cabin, with the Greenhouse with too many weird things going on. It pushed it over into the trying too hard realm if you know what I mean? I love going for breakfast anywhere near the water and The Partisan have really taken advantage of their location on Claisebrook Cove and outside tables and bar style seating are shaded by umbrellas and a beautiful Jacaranda Tree.
Beautiful location just next to the river. Loved the view. Coffees are great. Food is not bad. Orderd toast with fried chicken tasted good however the chicken was uncooked in the middle, informed the waitress and the replaced it immediately.
Good music. Good spot for a coffee after morning or evening walk around the river.
Fantastic views and good food. Went for a late breakfast on Sunday. The place was very crowded and we hadn’t booked in advanced., but we could get a table inside. Despite being very busy staff were attentive, patient and efficient. Food was also very delicious. 5 star experience
What a splendid place to have a nice weekend breakfast, nice views of the river, boats moving by. Staff were nice and service was very prompt. Smoothies are value for money as I could tell they were blended with real fruits. Breakfast serving was generous and did not have to wait long.
I rate The Partisan. Great spot and they're very happy to accommodate the Beagle. Good menu that changes up often. Great spot for taking a walk around the river then include Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner as the reward.

The portion sizes were plentiful and the food was absolutely delicious. The beef cheek ragu pasta was so tender and tasty!

Lunch with a friend. Seated easily and scanned the qr code to order and pay. Much preferred over the queueing for some time at the counter method, but they also offer waited service for the more classic experience. Food was excellent, staff were friendly without being intrusive. Setting is lovely and relaxing. I was last here two years ago and they are massively improved. Looking forward to the next visit.
What better way to spend your Saturday morning chillin' with your missus down in the Claisebrook Cove with a decent cuppa coffee, if you can find a place to sit that is. Punters are already struggling to find seats outside by 9:30 in the weekends, unless you've made a booking so that might be a good idea. We could only find a place inside, which is also fine.
I dig the food here though - a lot of points go for the taste and presentation. I'm not even necessarily a mushroom lover and I love the Mushroom Lover. The eggs benny are alright too. I really like the coffee served up here too, as it tends to be less milky than 90% of coffee shops around town.
