My boyfriend's birthday was a few days ago and it could only mean 1 thing: we ate a lot to celebrate. His birthday "cake" was none other than 4 different types of honeycake 🍯🎂! Talk about being spoilt 😝. Honeycake is WA's first cakery that specialises in Czech layered honeycake. All layers are hand-made from scratch from real and local ingredients!
The delicious traditional cake is a unique combination of altering honey-flavoured layers with smooth and creamy caramel, topped with fresh ground walnuts and honey crumbs 🍯. The cacao version is less sweet with the addition of *drum rolls* cacao powder, perfect for chocolate lovers (and ze birthday boi surprisingly loves this the most) 🍫! Honeymelt is the lighter version of the traditional cake with layers of soft biscuits and fluffy caramel cream. The walnuts on top are honey-roasted which pretty much guarantee scrumptiousness in each bite 🍪. Last but not least the honey cheesecake is my absolute favourite because you get them divine honeycake pieces covered in tangy lemon cream throughout 🍰. Best of both worlds!
If you're looking for something more special than an ordinary cake, honeycakes will be sure to impress! Apparently they can last up to 10 days in the fridge but seriously pfft, who in the right mind takes 10 days to eat cakes?!?
No words can describe it! The best best best yunmmmmmm
Everyone in my family is obsess with it
Yummmmmm if you haven't had honey cake before do yourself a favour and get here asap! So soft and sweet and good 😍😍
Even freezes!
Cute little store and friendly service.
Pandan honey cake is very nice. Always sold out. Maybe they should make more so it has enough supply for customer to buy. I have been to a few times and not able to get that at Yagan Square.
This cake, unique to Perth, consists of layers of what tastes like gingerbread sponge and caramel buttercream topped with finely crushed walnuts. And of course, the honey taste is definitely there. It’s nice but a tad sweet and doesn’t come cheap.
The cakes truly taste different to other bakeries around Perth and the honey does give it a unique flavour. I love all things honey so I am a fan. Perhaps a bit pricey in my opinion
These cakes are bloody good! I'm not really a big honey eater or even a cake eater but boy these are executed well. A modernised take on the more biscuitty eastern European dessert that a few countries claim as their own, these guys have made a softer version with their top notch caramel honey. Service is always polite and helpful and the taste is excellent - they now have a great range of biscuits, cheesecakes and even a chocolate version. The prices are a touch high for the quantity/serving size but the quality is great!

I always enjoy a slice of their original honey cake. They also have a cocoa one but nothing beats the original. Friendly staff at their CBD store! I've also had their pash pop which is also nice. Their cheesecake & puffs are my standouts- I only wished they weren't limited time!!
Always serving delicious honey cakes! Family from overseas are requesting this whenever I go back to visit! Friendly staff! I also love the cacao honey cake!
Having had honeycake from freo markets previously, I decided to try their vanilla gelato pop which was ok, however I would have preferred room temp cake+ gelato on the side if I'm going to be completely honest- cold cake isn't my jam. Sampled the new cacao honey cake, good but took a slice of the original to go, delicious as always.

Definitely yummy slice of heaven.
Very hard to replicate. A must have when in Perth - it is even better than the traditional honey cakes.
Certainly a good gift too as it lasts for up to a week.
Amazing cake. You will not have any regrets having some. It is in my top five cakes of all time. I love it so much that I have it sent to be all the way across the country. I only wish that there was a shop in my city! 🍯🍰🌆
A perfect gift from Perth. The honey aroma hit me the moment I open the box ..so fragrant & taste simply devine. It’s moist, rich honey & pandan flavor is a real treat with a cuppa hot tea. Delicious😋
Totally delicious. Tried the new Honeymisu and it is amazing! As someone who has 2 bites of Tiramisu and is done, this was sweet, creamy and light and I could have eaten the whole jar on my own! The original honeycake is also delish and very moreish. Always a great treat and my go-to gift 🎁 🍯 🤤
Nothing beats the original honeycake flavour. Glad they opened in this location. I hope they introduce honeycake store in eastern state aswell as the online order is very time consuming.
Dad grabbed some honeycake when he was walking around the area. The cake is always very tasty and very easy to eat.
Have been a fan of the honey cake for years since we were introduced to it by a friend who's a local WA resident. Only criticism I have:
1) the shipping instructions provided for at least 2 interstate orders were not followed properly.
I've ordered a cake for my mum in law (in SA) once last year and just recently. She was home all day and not a single door bell rung, neither was my sister in law's mobile rung. A card was left on their home and I received an email notification that the honey cake has arrived SA and pending on collection at nearby post office. This was very disappointing as they were looking forward to enjoy the yummy cake.
2) I'm a local Perth resident but my postcode no longer qualifies for free shipping this year. It's challenging to go to Northbridge or Fremantle to buy the cakes with a young toddler in tow and it takes at least half hour if not more to travel one way to the cakes shop. I'm hoping there will be more options available for pick-up or perhaps a discount shipping fee (instead of $15 flat shipping fee) for local orders.
