Such an incredible place.
They are passionate about food. Make everything so good. Service is the greatest complement.
I’d really recommend a visit.
I've been going here for 20 years. Still the best.
Food is really good and they have really good Chinese
Delicious food. We ordered the combination of meats it was superb!!
Been going here since 1997. Never had a bad experience. Awesome!!!
Arguably the best peking duck ive had so far. The staff are so nice and super attentive. And the manager also greets you on a genuine basis - especially if youre a regular like myself. The chefs are happy to cater for any changes made to the course. Drinks are accessible in a nearby fridge. The display of fish in the tanks arent desirable, but they arent crowded atleast. Toilets are super fancy and clean. An upstairs seating area can be requested which is less busy and more quite, perfect for a special occasion or family get together.
**This review is based on food only as takeaway is the only available option at this time with the pandemic**
Ordered the sezchuan chilli chicken which was very good, fried rice (tasty) and king prawn ho fun noodles (a bit tasteless, but the king prawns were excellent quality). Big selection of items, quite pricey but from what I can see you are paying for the quality of ingredients. Keen to try their toothfish dishes next!
Ordered a takeaway and was pleased that the food was still warm and yummy. Loved the shanghai beef, braised vegetable with mushrooms and salted fish fried rice we ordered. Had some leftovers for the following day and still tasted great reheated.
The salted fish and chicken fried rice was delicious
There's so much I want to try on their menu that I'll have to come back at least 10 more times. We had the prawn toast and braised pork with tofu. 👍
Awesome Chinese BBQ with quick & friendly service. Everything we ate was delicious and generous in size and flavour. Will go back for sure.... and try more BBQ!!
Good bbq pork and roast duck. Do lots of other dishes as well but a tad pricey. Would recommend their egg noodles with roast duck. Service is good.
We were a party of five and I cannot speak more highly of the customer service. The food was excellent - steamed oysters followed by steamed Barramundi - magnificent. Very busy restaurant with s great buzz. 10/10.
My favorite Chinese restaurant in Perth. Love the authentic HK style of cooking. Went back again last night for dinner, although super busy with Chinese New Year, food and service were still very good. We ordered lobster with noodle, roast duck and stir fried veggies, all were delicious.
Lovely, friendly service coupled with old school, familiar dishes and a ”clean” feel to everything officially makes this my go to BBQ meat joint. Sizzling tofu is my favourite and they do it right. Roast pork is delicious (you’d be hard pressed to find a better place) while the roast duck could be a bit better. Well priced, child friendly and it’s always good to see the local policemen popping in for takeaways! Red bean pancake wasn’t the best but glad they have it on the menu
Came here for dinner last night as little princess wanted to eat Peking duck. I have eaten at this establishment a couple of times in the past but haven't been back for a few years. We were fortunate in that we arrive early in the evening and got a table straight away. We ordered of course Peking duck, a large roast meat combination, a single portion of the hot and sour soup, and the 2 egg spinach dish plus rice. The polite waitresses who served us provided excellent service. What a difference here! The Peking duck and the soup were served first as suggested by the waitress. The Peking duck wasn't cheap, 6 pieces for $35. I must say that it was really good. The pancake/crepes were soft and chewy, and the duck skins crispy. There was even 2 drumsticks on the plate which I suppose accounted for that price. Little princess loved this dish. Her smiling face said it all. Next the roast meat combination and the spinach dish came. The meats namely roast duck, roast chicken, char siu and roast pork were truly awesome. The cha siu was tender as was the roast chicken and duck. The roast pork had the right crispiness to its skin. Not much fat on it as well. The 2 egg spinach was salty enough without being too salty and had lots of gravy to it. Good to eat with just plain rice even. Overall, it was an excellent meal, something we haven't had from a chinese restaurant in a long time. A great establishment. The customer service from the wait staff was top notch last night.
Classic HK vibes all around with fast, snappy and to-the-point service, and a no-frills atmosphere.
Our family has been coming here since I was small, and we typically order combination meats (Char Siew, Roast Duck, Siew Yuk, Chicken) with servings of dry noodles and wonton soup on the side. Their roast meats are all superb and comparable quality to HK. Can't go wrong.
This place has the legit best roast pork and bbq pork in all of Perth. I REALLY recommend this place because of the friendly staff and fast service.
We came here because of the reviews and we were glad we did! The food was authentic and delicious. We ordered the fried rice, wonton soup, soy chicken, bbq pork and congee. The wonton was the best with great filling and nice soup.
This is a lovely, spacious clean restaurant with good service. I love the food here and it’s reasonably priced for quality food. Last time I went air con was a bit cold though!
Best CHILLI OIL ever!!!
My fav dish here is the roast pork. Its very tasty and tender with the crispy skin. They have lunch menu if you come during lunch time.
My other go to dish:
Crispy noodle
Seafood claypot
One of the best Chinese/Hong King restaurants in Perth. Had the golden eggplant- seasoned to perfection, bbq pork- juicy and flavourful, and the beef fillet with garlic- seriously melt in your mouth pieces of tender beef. The place is a bit pricier than other china town joints, but honestly it’s worth it. The place is always packed so it is also worth booking a table.
Yum! The roasted pork was amongst the best I've had in Perth! Crunchy melt in your mouth crackling! The pan fried toothfish was beautifully cooked, crispy skin and not oily. Amazing fishes def worth going back for again. Service was really good, very prompt. Def made an effort with the interior. Think we found a new fav!
Came over here a while back and enjoyed the dinner. The food and service is really good for a busy night and the food came in pretty quickly too. The BBQ combination is really tasty, the beef with snow peas is tender. We will definitely come back to try more.
This is my go-to take away restaurant. It's an authentic Chinese/Cantonese cusine. Friendly and fast service too. They sell the best roast duck and roast pork I have had in Perth. I highly recommend.
This is the first time i eat in this restaurant & this is The best roast duck in Perth that i ever eat . I will be back to eat again. Good service , very recomended
Come here regularly with family and friends. Good service and kind staff. The food is great and recommend the BBQ pork and duck combination. Also really enjoyed the pepper beef nest.
My girlfriend and I absolutely love this place. We came once at lunch and got the BBQ Pork Noodle Soup and have come back time and again to relive the experience. Occasionally the broth is a bit weaker than other times but other than that I can't really find faults. The watermelon and sago is our standard starting drink and it really us a delicious way to start a meal if you like those flavours like we both do.
It had been so long since I had Chinese in Northbridge. Been on a Korean vietnamese and thai binge. Got a craving for bbq pork and duck. The combo bbq platter had pork, pork belly, duck and chicken. The poultry was Ok but the pork shined. The stir fried beans and minced pork was wonderful. The sizzling bean curd was fantastic. A little expensive but great for a simple Chinese meal. Will be back. Back second time - and those beans are fab !
This is one of the restaurants that I missed from Perth, when I go back to Indonesia after i finish my studies, because of the roast pork. I went there this week when I'm on holiday to Perth, to be honest, the quality somehow have deteriorated since I came here in 2013. The roast pork that i was looking forward to, don't have any crispy skin, the duck was so-so and the vegetables in oyster sauce is just plain. I wish there is an upgrade in the quality of the food here.
The staff was excellent though very fast and very quick to deliver the food to the table.
Tasty BBQ meat- and amazingly quick service! We ordered the whole roasted duck, the fried rice, plain rice, and the red besn pancake for dessert. The duck skin is so crispy and brittle without being too dry! The duck meat is smoky and flavourful. The salted fish fried rice is also amazing with wonderful flavours. To top it all off, the dessert, the red bean pancake, is amazing! The crisp, flakey, warm pastry encasing the sweet red bean paste is to die for.
A lovely discovery brought to me by my ex-boss- the roast pork, BBQ pork and the roast duck were simply delicious. The meat was tender where it should be and crispy at the right places. I am not a fan of roast pork but trying it here, I indulge in several pieces more. Top is crispy and the cut-size is just right. The noodles tasted kind of plain but the fried rice was pretty good. Staff were pleasant and do not be fooled by the building exterior; neat and cosy interior! I would recommend this place for their food, cleanliness and good service. Just brave yourselves for the hunt of parking bays.
Went to HK BBQ House to experience their Char Shui and Roast Duck. It was exceptional and having lived in Hong Kong i can confidently tell you that this is the real deal. Highly recommended and the best Chinese BBQ food i have experienced in Perth. The Service was attentive and prompt with a great atmosphere.
Very tasty roast duck. Ate here 3 times when I was in Perth. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Clean and tidy restaurant. Only down side was parking!
Let's be real, no one else in Perth makes roast pork/char siew as good as these guys do. Try as you might, you won't find a competitor that comes close. The quality here has been super high for many years and as much as places like Golden King (and all of its iterations over the past few years e.g. Ming's, Hung Kee etc) try to be as good as HKBBQ, it just isn't going to happen. Even the police regularly come here for their lunch/dinner, and it's not hard to see why. It's top quality food at a reasonably top quality venue.
We ordered 2 roast combination of roast duck and roast pork with plan noodle. The roast pork was good but I thought the skin of the roast duck was tough as board. It was hard to bite through. Flavour wise it was good for noodle and roast combination. The noodle texture was good.
definitely the best roasted duck in perth!! milk tea is awesome, reminding me the tast of hongkong! seafood is also superb, worth to try crab and lobster noodle!!
This is our first time to dine in @this restaurant.
We had roast duck noodle soup and Bbq pork, roast pork rice.
Ho..ho..ho..love their broth @noodle soup
And their duck are crispy
Both of their pork (BBQ& Roast) are nice too can't comPlaint at all
And don't forget to dip it in their chilli oil too..😉😉😉
Sorry I forgot to take a pic..too busy tasting it..😄😄😄😄
When I first came into this restaurant, my friend immediately force me to try the chilli oil which apparently had become a sensational hit by now that they even sold it in a bottle to go. I have to agree that it is one of the best chilli oil I tried in the many many Chinese restaurants I have ever been to.
But the highlight for me would be the roast pork – by far – the best roast pork in town. Soft, oily but juicy, and crunchy skin made it one of my favorite dishes in HK BBQ.
My recommended dishes here would be: roast pork (but you can order in platter of meat combination which include roast pork, bbq pork, chicken, and/or roast duck), the honey king prawn (is really good!, sweet and crispy on the outside at the right level while soft and refreshing on the inside), and the sizzling tofu.
The staffs are also friendly despite their limited English, and the food came in pretty quick too! Don’t worry about the small sitting area as they have another space on the 2nd floor too! The only downside was perhaps the size is rather small compared to many other Chinese restaurants. But then again, I would come back again for that bowl of rice with roast pork and their chilli oil – of course.
Always a good dining experience.
Some of the best roast pork in the city in my opinion.
The string beans with chicken mince is show stopper, be sure to try.
Only reason why I wouldn't score higher as its a bit expensive for what it is but generally really good.
The chilli lobster is also fantastic.
Not as good as the last time we had been but still better than all its competitors! We came here for lunch and got bbq (what else?). The flavours were still great but the crackling on the roast pork wasn't crackling and some bits were dry. The only other improvements could be a little vege with the meal and we do love the soup they give you at other bbq restaurants! But overall it's still one of the best!
New Year's day and who is open? Anything Asian! We struck it good when we got a seat here after 15 mins wait.
A very clean well presented restaurant and well ventilated too. The staff were friendly and were very polite and funny! We were looking at the menu and had a fun conversation that none of the pictures on the menu related to any of the food that was served in the restaurant! Typically Chinese! 😁
But don't let that scare you out of eating at this place. I couldn't be happier with the meals. We had the mixed bbq plate and the beans with chilli and chicken sauce.
The bbq plate gave us a good insight into what the restaurant has to offer. Bbq pork was great, nice and thickly cut and tender and sweet. The crispy pork was one of the best too. Was a little cold when we got it, but the top still managed to be crispy and meat tender and plentiful and also one of the few restaurants that managed to render out a good proportion of the fat. I was happy with this. The duck was also one of the better ones. Did it have bones? Sure! But not as much as other places and one to two pieces max and good to hold to gnaw the generous moist meat off.
The beans were great as well. They were so delicious I could eat that dish alone with the free flow rice!
Really happy I finally went here. Always passed outside and never wanted to go in cause of the perception I built up of the restaurants around this area. Glad I did. Prices are quite reasonable too.
Generous portions
Easy to eat with joyous amount if pleasure
Used to go here and get take away and bring it to my work to eat before my shift
Always a fun atmosphere inside
Sizzling Japanese tofu was the best I've had to date. I was also surprised by the violin duck - as I've never had this before, I am now going to order it every chance I get at a bbq restaurant
People are really nice here. Like really nice! Oh, and the food's delicious! Maybe not as good as Good Fortune for roast duck, but their roast pork and crackling is on fricking point. Also, tasty noodles! =)
Lunchtime $10 BBQ pork with chilli on the side, UNBEATABLE! awesome stuff.
They used to be shut on a monday but are now trading 7 days a week, can't go past it!
While I had been to Hong Kong a couple of times as a pre-teen, the time I travelled there as an adult was informed, food wise, mainly by visits to Northbridge dim sum joints, and the great Hong Kong BBQ. This temple of roast duck and pork has been around for over twenty years and I have been eating here almost as long.
Just decided to go tonight to satisfy my cravings. Ordered 2 wonton noodles and small roast meats. Wonton noodles were good, best I have had in Perth. As with the roast platter we had soy chicken, char siu and roast duck. Actually I ordered siu yuk and not char siu, despite querying with the girl she said no you said char siu. I think I know what I said so was upset on her customer service. Not to mention she was not well so not sure what may have splattered on our meals. To add more brownie points I was actually happy with the char siu so that pushes my rating. The fact she did not show any motivation to service or interest in being their, she is the only reason why I drop my score from 4 to 3.5. My last experience was perfect and the guy whom served us made me feel like a king! For that I had to tip h sadly no tips tonight. Would I dine here again? Most definitely just hope when I do its that girls day off so she can enjoy her time on the couch.
Our go-to place for good Chinese food in Northbridge. We have a few staples that we order - roast duck, garlic shoots, sizzling Szechuan tofu, and salted fish and chicken fried rice. Consistently good and always heaps left to takeaway afterwards. The good thing about this place is that it doesn't close between lunch and dinner time, meaning you can go for a late lunch and take your sweet ol' time.
Definitely not the cheapest chinese restaurant in town. The roast pork and duck that I ordered for takeaway was rather tasty, however I found that they're quite sneaky. For some strange reason they were taking the duck to cut inside. What for? To sneak away a few pieces? Anyway when I arrived home and opened the box, to make the contents seem larger than it was, there was three pieces of duck neck at the bottom of the box. Why would you do that? As for the roast pork, the top layer was crispy, I found that the bottom layer was quite chewy and didn't taste that fresh which to me sounds like they substituted an older batch at the bottom. I don't live too far away from Northbridge so I know that it wouldn't have been able to get chewy/soggy from the time it took to drive home.
I don't frequent to this restaurant very often as I feel like there are other places that I can go to where there are more polite and don't try to cheat their own customers. This reminds me of a couple of years ago when some friends and I decided to dine in during lunch. Not feeling particularly hungry we ordered a meat combination (3 different types of meat.. char siu, roast pork and roast duck). When the combination arrived, for some reason unknown to us, the roast pork was at the bottom of the plate, and covered by the duck and char siu and completely soaked in the sauce. I don't appreciate tricks like these. It just gives you a bad reputation.
The roast duck and BBQ pork in Perth. Can be a language barrier at times when ordering. Family loves their steam boat. Always busy, they should have a 5 minute parking outside for takeaway pick up. Can never find parking on Francis St.
All time favourite in Perth. Comfort food, the BBQ pork, the lou mei, eggplant with salted fish and chicken, to name a few. Took family, friends and colleagues there, everyone loved it. Service is good and price acceptable.
BBQ and roast perfection... Great brisket, noodles and clean tasty soups. Chilli oil to die for. One of our regular lunch spots. Quick service in a clean environment.
HK BBQ has a lot of space for group gatherings. We went with a group of 12 people for lunch and ordered different meals. Ranging from the usual BBQ and roast pork to roast duck noodle soup.
Cost of meal is suitable for what you're getting and they have a really nice chilli oil that can be purchased (in a jar).
People's favourite is still the roast pork meat or combination rice meal.
Went to dinner here on a Saturday night and even though the restaurant was quite busy the service was excellent. Food was great and brought out within 10-15 minutes. I recommend the Szechuan beef.
We have had this restaurant on the list to try out for a little while. It was a great change from our usual haunts in Chinatown and along William St.
Will be heading back there again to try the Peking Duck.
This place looks small from the outside but as you enter it is definitely a wider and hygienic place, love the atmosphere in this restaurant and waiter always very patient and nice, I had tried the Hong Kong bbq mixed plate and best Hong Kong BBQ in Perth. Wonton noodle soup has lacked a bit of flavour in soup but noodle was chewy and wonton fillings contained a whole prawn
The chicken fried rice is super delicious! And fried Salt and pepper squid was always a go to choice.
Really good quality food. I love the roast pork and roast duck - the braised peanuts they served underneath the duck one night were delicious. We usually stick to the bbq options because they're the best value and super tasty. I also highly recommend the chilli scallops (DELICIOUS and you get TONS of scallops) and the beancurd seafood claypot. The braised chicken and mushroom on dry noodles and the Peking spare ribs are also quite nice. A little on the pricey side so best kept for special occasions, but that's not to say that the quality is lacking -- the food is beautiful. Also really refreshing to visit a Perth restaurant that is so clean, including the facilities out back.
My partner tells me often that the BBQ and roast meats that they offer is good. The service is below average but the roast pork and the roast duck that we had recently, went well with the vegetable dishes that I cooked.
Edit:
Food was nice but nothing spectacular. Had hot and sour soup, BBQ combination (roast pork, BBQ pork and roast duck), crispy intestine, SP tofu, garlic vegetables, steamed fish with soy, stir fried ho fun with beef and xo prawns with noodles.
Best HK Roast in Perth. These guys make the best roast pork and roast duck in Perth! I reckon they're even better than some joints I've tried in Hong Kong. Don't miss this place if you want some authentic Cantonese cuisine! Service is pretty good especially from the bosses!
Best Chinese BBQ in Perth
Outstanding in every way! Crispy roast pork on a bed of five spice infused beans, sweet and aromatic. Special CHILLI oil! Modern monochromatic interior and super friendly staff!
Very tasty but a bit dry. Went for lunch. Ordered large bbq combination and fried noodles combination.
The meats were very tasty but a bit dry. None of the meats were hot.
Fried noodles were tasty but half the noodles were crispy. I didn't expect it to be like that.
It is a bit pricy.
I'll be back due to the great flavor:)
Yummy Duck! Love the roast duck. It's meant to be a "cold dish", so don't expect piping hot duck. Love the plum sauce and the chilli oil as well. Big portions, value for money. Friendly service! Wanna come back to try their other dishes...
BEST BBQ PORK NO QUESTION!. The BBQ pork and even the roast pork for that matter is absolutely brilliant EVERY TIME! Don't expect service with a smile from the lady behind the counter, just expect fantastic food!
Best Asian in Perth. Best barbecue, dishes always made with fresh quality ingredients. Never disappoint!
Best chilli oil. I sometimes come here just to buy the chilli oil to supplement my meals at home. Good fast food. Nice noodles and the roast/bbq pork is good from here.
Always a favourite. Hong Kong BBQ has been my family's go to since I was young. The prices are higher than other Chinese places in the area but it's easily the best duck in Perth and the serving sizes are generous.
If you only ever go here once a year, book a table on Chinese New Years for the banquet with friends. Keep the Chivas pouring and undo your belts. Your taste buds are about to get blasted.....Yum!
Love it. My partner & I love coming here for the occasional dinner out. Love the bbq pork, roast pork and duck! We tried other dishes and you can tell they're definitely made from fresh ingredients!
I'm eager to come back and try the snow crab! I think it's the only Chinese restaurant in Perth that does not have a million of crabs or lobsters all squished and stacked on top of each other into one tank and you can actually tell that they're ALIVE... unlike some places down the road *cough cough*
Best and closest thing to the real deal. One of the best chinese bbq restaurants in Perth!
BBQ chinese style is good as it gets. 9 /10. Been going to this northbridge restaurant for 3 years never fails to deliver
Mostly very cheap I eat lunch here regularly for $12 Roast duck & rice Yum...
I have eaten steam fish many times & had the cray & scallops yes they are expensive
but live seafood always is, Had a live fish in Hong Kong ( china) 20 years ago once cost me 300...I nearly
hang myself, You can afford live seafood here just ask price first if worried...
Wine is also available & very reasonable price.
8/10 Venue
9/10 Food
7.5/10 service ( speed of service 10/10 )
Tonite we where looking for a resturant rang a few all booked out so ended up at this one and I tell you that it was the most delicious food I have had , words will not tell how good you need to try for yourself , I will be back.
Hands down the best pork and rice takeaway love it...can't beat this place good price...
Has the roast duck and crispy pork with noodles ($15). Restaurant was only a third full at 1pm on a Monday so service was actually very good. Duck was juicy and skin was crisp. The roast pork had a great layer of crackling. Meat was served still warm which was good, as many other like BBQ houses tend to serve their meats a bit colder. Nicely air conditioned venue and clean. Pacific House in Melb was my favourite place for this dish outside of Hong Kong, but this little gem in Perth has taken top honours!
Get in early. This place is heaven for roasted bbq meat goodness especially when you come in right after they've opened and all the meat is fresh out the oven so the meat is still super juicy and the skin is crisp. Gets busy real quick so this gurantees you a seat too. My fave place for chinese bbq. I always get a combo with roast pork and roast duck. The only time Im disappointed is when I come in an off-peak time and they microwave my meal and its a bit soggy.
Always see cops illegally parked outside the shop to get take away too. They love this joint!
Compromised in, quickly kicked out. My friend and I dined here for dinner on a Saturday night. We arrived at 6pm but without a booking as it was a last minute change of plan. We were seated on a table along the corridor. Whilst table location wasn't the best, we knew food was good here.
We ordered a 3 roast combination plate, and salted fish fried rice. Whilst both dishes were consistently good, the roast combination plate serving was small for the price we were charged. As we dined, we felt like we had eagle eyes on us the whole time, waiting for that moment the both of us to drop our chopsticks and swoop in with a dessert menu.
We were given all of 2 minutes to decide, and when we said we didn't want any, we were promptly kicked out, with the waiter ushering us out and hinting there's a long queue waiting.
Props for consistent food, albeit a bit on the pricier side ($50 for those two dishes), but the way we were treated like a mere business transaction, we can't help but feel we were robbed of what could have been a pleasant and enjoyable restaurant.
This place is fantastic. Service is fast and mostly friendly. The good was fantastic - I ate way too much. Loved the fried rice and beef dish. Turn down the ac though...
Best BBQ pork you'll find in perth. Duck is amazing too. Love the dishes on the menu especially the beef brisket and XO prawn vermicelli. My usual spot for an authentic taste of hongkong.
Great roast pork and duck. Only the lamb pot was a bit of a let down. Went with a group and also worked out really cheap around $25 each including drinks. Will probably go back again to try some more dishes
Tasty, authentic Cantonese grub. The beef brisket noodles are a revelation.
Pretty good. Food is good, if a little pricey.
Serving sizes vary, though.
Tends to be reasonably loud at times.
Some of the staff have difficulty understanding English (and assume I'm able to speak Cantonese, which is sometimes a problem).
Overall, recommended.
The best BBQ duck and pork. One of the best Cantonese restaurant, their specialty are BBQ duck and pork, we always come back to this restaurant.
Had our Chinese New Year reunion dinner here. Excellent snow crab noodle, broccoli with scallop and roast duck! Will definitely be back for more.
If you want to go for Chinese bbq in Perth, this and Good Fortune are the places to go. The roast pork and soya chicken here are phenomenal. The chilli you get with your meat is amazing too. The rice can be a bit of a let down though
Great food and well priced. One of my favorite BYOs
Excellent Food, Five-Star Service. The title summarises it all but in detail, the food served is truly authentic Chinese food you find in Hong Kong. The team is led by this sweet charming lady who serves every customer with a brimming smile. Her personal touch has made me feel like I am back at home, somehow, magically.
This is one of the restaurants I will definitely bring all visitors to because the quality of the food is excellent and at a reasonable price. Best of all, it is consistent. I have been dining here since 2010.
TAsty as Hell. Awesome been here about 10 times. alot of that takeaway
very tasty meal and relatively cheap at about $11
only down side , sometimes pork not cooked all the way thru 100%
(had this happen on 2 occasions)
And if want extra chilli oil with it even after spending over $120 bucks , dont expect any oil. lady behind counter was quiet rude when i asked for an extra chilli oil.
ALL in all thou highly recommend!!
9/10 - The best Chinese I can honestly say I've ever had. Very fast arrival of the food which totally took me by surprise. The salt & chili king prawns were amazingly fresh, the batter crisp & just plain wow. BBQ pork was slightly tough or to complain "dry" but the flavour & light sauce on the bottom of the plate was very nice. Combo fried rice was not oily & has heaps of tiny prawns, shallots, BBQ pork, chili & generally the best I've had. Beef with snow peas & XO sauce was fantastic. The meat just melted in yor mouth & the snow peas fresh & crisp. Nothing is perfect but thus place was knocking on the door. Make a booking...
Perth Asian Food and Culture Group. We attended last night the 20th oct, I booked for 12, then changed to 8, and 4 attended, the staff were most accomodating, and very friendly and warm. We ordered some loverly food, and were full when we finnished our meals. Price was very good also, and this place is a must to return too. Oh and they are very seeing eye dog friendly too...
Tasty BBQ meats. Roast Duck is sensational, best in Perth. Great service
Best Chinese I've had in a long time, very fresh and authentic!
Violin duck!. Hong Kong BBQ is my absolute fave place to eat when craving Chinese BBQ.
The first time i had tried the violin duck i thought it was one of the best things i had ever eaten in my life!
Also the bbq pork and garlic or oyster greens are always a good choice with rice and chili oil on the side.
Always fresh food and good service.
Highly recommended!
Fantastic Food and Great Service. Love coming to this place for their steamed fish. Also their seafood and roast duck is unparalleled in Northbridge. Staff are super friendly, and love the price of their drinks. Thumbs up! decor is very comfortable ever since they renovated. Would recommend and I love coming back.
Best chinese rest in perth. Used to have a very bad and rude service (the two ladies in the front), but theyve changed! Since they refurbished the whole thing, everything seems better. Food is always good. Now this is my favourite chinese restaurant in perth. Its a bit pricey, but worth it.
Try the lunch menu too, they have the noodles with bbq pork or rice with peking duck etc. Steam fish is great, the kailan is excellent, and dont forget their bbqs...and oh! the CHILLI OIL !!!
Dont know what else to say !!
A bit pricey but worth it. We are a regular here. They have the best bbq/roast pork in town. Popular items like bbq pork and violin duck tend to run out when you come late-ish (7pm onwards) though, so make sure they reserve you some violin duck when you make your booking.
I've now been to Hong Kong BBQ house 6 times over the last 3 months - This place rocks great food and fast service. The Pork & Duck are always succulent and cooked to perfection. The steamed garlic vegies crisp and tasty. I find the quality of a good Chinese's restaurant is "how good is the Beef and Black bean" and i can tell you this is by far my favourite -if anyone knows of any better please let me know.
Two thumbs up
Love it. one of my fave places for comfort food. the chilli is to die for and its awesome over the bbq specials. love the wonton noods, so delish!!!!
Fair play!!. I've been to this place countless times for both dine in and takeaway. By a good margin, the best Chinese food in Northbridge. I'm prompted to send this in as someone has just written an adverse report. To say this person is in the minority is an understatement. To say they have it in for this restaurant may be closer to the truth. I say, try it out for yourself - you go there for the great food, lets face it, not for 'a la carte' service!!! Get a life!!
Best bbq meat in town!. Our family always comes here almost every sunday for lunch. We all love the food so much. Their service is quick and the food is super yummy. Their roast duck and roast pork are highly recommended. If you like A bit spicy, have your meal with chilli oil. And your tummy will be satisfied c:
Lovely food!. Went there today... food is always so lovely! I have been their customer for past 4 years. Price of food is reasonable too! Love all their food. Just fantastic!
Great Quality.. Bring your friends, sit at a large table and order heaps of dishes. Been here twice and both times have been impressed by the tastes, especially the duck, roasted or deep fried. Well worth a shot if your into your Chinese roasts.
BBQ. Have been coming here for a while and it never dissapoints. def the best HK bbq place i have tried.
Best Hong Kong food in Perth. Excellent roast/BBQ items, best szechuan dishes in Perth, fresh, tasty, great service. High recommend.
Hong kong heaven. Two words "BBQ pork" Amazing!!!
Slurpss!!. I've been here for over a gazillion times now! Roast duck, roast pork is a class act. If its for dinner, I'd try the XO garlic shoots (sooo good), their beancurd with salted fish and mushrooms is a definite hit. Also try their other dishes like the pan fried tooth fish which carries a lovely buttery fragrant.
God this place is GOOD. Oh, and their chili oil, UNBEATABLE. Additionally, owners are 3 friendly ladies which are committed to providing good hospitality!
Chilli oil is to die for. They serve the best wonton, noodle, steam fish and Bbq pork! oh my! it goes really well with the chili oil. This place is even better than any restaurants i dined in Hongkong! I always go there, order the same thing and take home the chili oil jar. slurppp !!
It's good!. Quite possibly, the best Chinese I have tried so far, in Perth.
The food is good, the menu is extensive and the staff are helpful, polite and courteous.
A busy restaurant with a big following, most evenings seem to be busy, so I've resorted to visiting on a Sunday lunch time, to ensure we can have a table and relax.
Expensive by comparison to others in the area, but in this case, you do get what you pay for.
Worth a splash!
Roast Meat combination (roast duck, roast pork & BBQ pork). I have not tasted better pork! My staple dish there is the BBQ Pork, Roast Pork with Dry Noodle layered with their chilli oil. Oh man! makes my mouth water! Winner every time!
Great flavours. There is some great punchy flavours executed here. The BBQ pork and roasted duck were fantastic with some morish characteristics. The pork in places was a little overcooked but otherwise cooked well. This venue will definitely be receiving a return visit from us.
Food 7/10 service 6.5/10 decor 7/10
BBQ pork is great. The sweet glaze they use on the BBQ pork is to die for. The roast pork is really nicely done too. I look forward to trying their peking duck to compare with the ones from Good Fortune and Four Seasons.
Mmm pigs. I LOVE bbq pork - just love it. Actually anything chinese foody. These guys are affordable and the servings are plentiful
Best BBQ duck. Succulent and crispy duck, roast pork fabulous, ee fu noodles delicious. I would eat their chilli sauce by the ladle full with steamed rice. Service is great; polite, quick, no double standard service noted and serves are AMPLE (and I eat alot!).
Best bbq pork and roast pork. Their bbq pork is the tastiest of all the places I've been to. I think it's because they finish it off by glazing it with honey. They also make the best brown sauce which accompanies roast and bbq pork too!
BBQ me all the way!. Great BBQ.
Pretty much the best roast duck in Perth. Succulent. Non greasy. Great flavour. Roast pork was also excellent. The BBQ pork was only so so. Well patronised by the coppers and mainly Chinese clientele. It's a keeper !
Best roast pork in perth. The title says it all :) plus, dinner menu offers very authentic Cantonese dishes. definitely one of my fav Chinese restaurants
Regular haunt. One of our Friday lunchtime favourites. As mentioned below the roast and bbq pork are good, so are the Singapore noodles, serves lately have actually been too big !!!, um beef vegtable rice, what else.. there are a number of favourite dishes and this is BYO with no corkage + the best chilli sauce, they know us so we always get a big bowl of the chilli sauce, unless a new wait staff, but doesn't take long to educate them.. all for $13 / person for just mains..
Renovated for good. This place have been renovated.. Im impressed.. love the decor and the food is consistently good! delicious!

I’ve been coming to HKBBQ with my family since I was a small child, and there is honestly nothing better. It’s always the first place my mother wants to go, and was obvious visit during our time in Perth. The duck is some of the cleanest, tastiest, and moist you will ever taste, and their Bitter G
We start off with the Salted Fish and Chicken Fried Rice. It's a perfectly seasoned and balanced dish that seems simple but has a great flavour profile which with one bite tells you it's so much more. The salted fish is delicious and lives up to it's name; the chicken tender and moist. While normally I would hate lettuce in a fried rice dish, here it works really well. It gives some texture and more toned down flavour. The egg throughout is a must for any fried rice and there's not too much like you often find. When we both mix in chilli oil into our bowls, the dish becomes amazing.
It's a busy Cantonese restaurant that is full of both Asians and other races which my friends often joke that the best way to tell if an Asian restaurant is any good is to look for the Asians. I prefer to just trust my tastebuds and the fact that I've grown up on this food.
Likes: perfectly cooked duck and pork, friendly staff... Overall: new favourite spot for Asian roast meats!
Hong Kong BBQ House is pricier than your typical Asian restaurant but the generous serves, quality, and delicious taste of the food is what you expect. Hong Kong BBQ House does not disappoint. We took a lot of food home after eating plenty so you won’t go hungry as the serves are generous.
Large roast came with crispy skinned roast pork and deliciously flavored roast duck. Finger licking good! No need to provide a description but what is better than that crunchy bit of skin followed by juicy roast pork with the savory bottom bit? Nothing.

After touching down in Perth, my friends, my wife and I come to this restaurant for a dietary quick fix. The roast duck hung behind the shop front window look appetising.
We are interested in just a quick lunch, so the tanks of fish and lobster do not mean anything to us.
There are not many people, so our food order comes out fairly quickly.
The roast duck is meaty, but the sauce poured over the rice is sweet.
The Salted Fish, Chicken Fried is a bit ordinary, I cannot find any salted fish, and therefore the rice does not have the distinct flavour.
The Seafood, Flat Ruce Noodle with Smooth Egg Sauce. The noodle is fried with very high heat until it achieves Wok Hei.
I overhear the conversation of the staff, and I believe the cook/chef does come from Hong Kong.
The prices are very reasonable. In short, it is value for money.
PS. Hours later we had the meals, we were very thirsty. I think the food was cooked with very generous dose of MSG or similar flavour enhancer.
Love the roast duck and pork at this place. Good quality Chinese food. Recommended!
Food arrived promptly, the waitress gave us a generous serve of chili oil upon request, food portion was generous. We love the crispy duck skin and the roast pork cracklings. Delicious and good value for money. We look forward to coming here again to try their other dishes.
Fantastic food all-round - roast meats are absolutely beautiful. FYI the chilli-oil is one of the best I have ever tasted.
Absolutely love this place, their bbq prom with tried rice is amazing. It's well priced and portions are great.
Their chilli oil is to die for! The meat was a bit tough, maybe cutting it a bit smaller can help.
Generous portion.
Undisputed king of Roast Pork, Roast Duck, and BBQ Pork. Hands down best in Perth. Anyone and everyone should try their special fried rice with their chilli oil. Probably had this over 100 times over the years here. Excellent and very fast service also. I came here for my birthday and the male manager he reserved a special parking spot and assisted me to reverse park as it is a bit tight. Excellent service
Still my number 1 Chinese restaurant in Perth.(Recommend for dinner dishes)
