I Had a celebration there and it was great! The food was really good, the staff were friendly and it was well coordinated! I would definitely recommend
Always accomodating to our every request to the most fussiest people - always prepared to vary their menu to facilitate vegans and vegetarians alike - five star experience! Thanks to Danielle and Justin!.
What a wonderful experience for 13 of us last night. We had a family dinner at Public House Perth which went without a hitch. Food was superb. Drink service was not to be faulted and the staff were wonderfully attentive. Our whole night was just pure joy. Thank you to Management and Staff for such a great night 😘😘
Thank you Justin and the lovely staff at Public House for hosting us for the most wonderful girls night. The private room was beautifully set up with our own bar service, drink specials and full menu available for indivdual orders in our large group. Fabulous fun
Very nice place stop for couple drinks friendly staff just really nice casual atmosphere
Very satisfied with the food and the service..Kudos to all the staff! I would definitely recommend Public House to my friends and workmates..cheers!
One of the best meals I ever had in Perth. Already telling others how good the meal was. Great service and friendly staff.
This place is great food was delicious the staff was lovely & well drinks superb all over brilliant
Thanks Public House , you helped finish off a lovely afternoon with great service , food and ambience .
Food and service on point. Thanks for a great evening.
Nice staff, tasty food and good value. What’s not to like.
Chicken Caesar salad, steak chips and salad.
Great venue for after work drinks and nibbles in Perth's CBD. Plenty of choice for drinks and lots of tasty food which is perfect for sharing. Can comfortably sit outside even in winter with portable heaters dotted around the place. The also had the footy playing via projector on the wall of the building next door, although it was a bit hard to see properly through the plants out front. Would visit again.
We popped into Public House Kitchen and Bar on Friday after work. Happy hour cocktails were delish and a great DJ was in action. Table service was attentive, warm and friendly. We sat outside, which was lovely as we were kept cosy with super gas heating and could even keep an eye on the football as it was cleverly projected onto an outside wall. Enjoyed all the nibble plates. Very reasonable prices, excellent, friendly service. Will be back.
I was pretty happy with everything here - service was great (our main waitress was a bit too pushy on the drinks) but all were knowledgeable and helpful, and returned frequently to see if we needed anything. The food was great for everything - even my steak sandwich which looked average but tasted great with the most tender steak and perfectly cooked sweet potato chips with dipping sauce. My friend had a gorgeous and generous ceviche although her croquettes looked dry and didn't have any promised cheese. But the rest of the table got the feast and every course looked lovely. We had no issues with using our Entertainment books and will be back.
With there with a group of girlfriends and it was a lovely night. Great ambience, tasty food. The cocktail tasting platter was AMAZING! Recommend going with a group for sure!
Popped in for some snacks before a late dinner. The empanadas were delicious, with a light and crispy pastry. The tacos were tasty enough but a bit dry and they felt overpriced.
The Cab Shiraz of the month was also very drinkable and made for a very affordable pre dinner option
For years I’ve been driving past Public House and hoping to go inside one day. Well that day finally came. Now I’m not sure how I’m going to stop from going back on a monthly basis. The venue and food is excellent and you get a free movie. Really it’s all about the food isn’t it, so why wait here’s what we picked from the Latin American tapas menu.
We visited Public House during the week for a light meal. We were surprised to see so many people given the day and time. The food and drinks were pretty decent, with a good selection of both. The food's nothing amazing, but it's good none the less. It's a good venue for an after work beer.. or two...
I have been here a few times in the last couple of months. It is conveniently located a short walk from the Perth Concert Hall and seems to fill up about an hour before the show starts with audience members trying to grab a quick bite before they head off for the next part to their evening, myself amongst them.
The food here is delicious - there has been no disappointments on this menu so far. I highly recommend trying the boards - they change seasonally but at the moment it is a Smokers board with a sample of several different meats which are all on the menu as their own dishes - ribs, pulled pork, skewers, chicken wings etc. The board and a side dish or two is perfect for two people to munch away on and feel full afterwards.
I also recommend washing it down with cocktail. My current favourite is the Pink Panther - a lychee based cocktail. It is sweet and pretty. As my friend said "it even tastes pretty."
The atmosphere here is sociable, however the serve has been hit and miss. I found depending on where you are seated in the venue will determine how quick and sociable the servers are. I have come to prefer sitting outside - particularly when they have the black and white films playing and the summer weather kicks in, the service tends to be quicker and more friendly outside. I haven't had much luck with service when sitting inside.
Decor was warm and welcoming as was the service. Great menu. We sat at a high table on the side with a view a cross the bar to the street and the old time movie projected onto the adjacent wall. Chorizo was to die for. Lamb ribs equally good and the Beetroot sales was a winner. Loved the selection of beers (sans CUB) and wines. Just that little bit different. Would be even better with a larger group as the menu is designed to be shared.
Yummy food, great wine selection and friendly staff! Don't skip desert, it's the best part! Had a lovely night and left feeling very full and content!
Soooooo good. Popped in for dinner on a Monday. Great atmosphere and staff..sit outside if you can. Food is amazing. Had the Scotch Fillet cooked medium rare and it was cooked perfectly. Teamed with the best chimichurri I think I have ever had. Nice glass of red...delicious. Do yourself a favour!
Defiantly does not disappoint! The food here is absolutely amazing and mouth watering. It is well worth the money.
One down side is that the meals are quiet small. Had around 4 mains and some side dishes for 5 people. It was a large amount of food, but we were all still a bit hungry after.. Maybe we just have big bellies! And for next time ORDER MORE FOOD :)
I also love the pictures on the bathroom door, that made for great dinner conversation and laughs.
Love it when they smoke brisket and other meat but hate it when I'm not sitting inside waiting for my food. Superb service and good selection of dishes. Every now and then we would do our Friday drinks before leaving for the weekend.
It was my boyfriend's 30th and we wanted to have something special. We chose the Public House and selected the Feed me menu which consists of a three-course meal with a complimentary drink valued at $65 per head. We were 20 people in total and also had food requirements as there are not many vegetarian options in the menu but the staff were happy to accommodate our needs.
We decided to have it in the private room which has its own bar and sound system, they don't charge for it, there is only a minimum spend; they set up the room with two high tables so we could mingle before dinner. There was one person at all times with us in the room and he was a champion and everyone was talking about how good he was, he was definitely a part of our experience. The entrees arrived first and there was enough for everyone, we had some drinks after that and then the mains arrived, everything is designed to be shared and there was plenty of food and variety. The desserts came later however, there was too much of the chocolate tart more than any other which I didn't particularly enjoy.
They told us in advance how much time we had to order last drinks and everything went very well in this sense. Our overall experience was great! I highly recommend the Public House for an event or celebration.
* The lamb was very tender, the steak was one of our favourites with a delicious coriander and mint sauce. The salmon ceviche was very good for those who like raw fish, not exactly the same as the South American version but close enough.
Dined out with a party of 8 this evening for a birthday and firstly - what a beautiful venue. It's so classy and modern and I love the "wine wall" light feature on the wall. Cool art in the bathrooms too! Staff were so prompt and efficient and knew their thing! Our waitress was very sweet and informative, helping us choose the right amount of food for the table. Tapa's style food in small and large portions. Pork was brilliant, loved the crisp crackling. Lamb was melt in your mouth. Chorizo hotdogs amazing! Beetroot salad perfection. Everything was delicious!!!! Gorgeous Pisco Sour cocktails too. Can't wait to revisit!
Went for dinner with my partner - was really impressed upon arrival, the atmosphere was great and a Latin band and troupe of dancers along with 2 carnival showgirls turned up for about an hour.We ordered 2 mains and 2 tapas dishes which luckily turned up quickly and was really delicious but nothing else did. The service was really really slow. We saw others complaining about it too. We purposefully left room as we saw there was a desert we both wanted. When our dinner plates were taken the waitress said she'd be back to take our order but never came back and we waited 40 minutes before going to the pay area and ordered it there, only for someone to come 5 minutes later and say they'd sold out.We even waited 15 minutes for the bill before giving up and going to sort it out ourselves. The staff were great but it was woefully understaffed. It's such a shame as everything else was great.
Public house isn't really near much in the CBD but my friend and I came to the public house for Pisco cocktail tasting board. It was about $24 from memory and I really enjoyed the three sweeter cocktails but was not a big fan of the espresso one or the spicy one or cherry ripe one. We had croquettes with popcorn and sweet potato chips to snack on and they were great. The service was absolutely wonderful and we were very happy. We came back again on Australia Day night and the service wasn't as good due to it being busier, also they didn't have anything going on for Australia Day as it said they would.
Lovely spot for lunch and great service. Nice to have unusual food to choose. Will definitely go here again. Staff all seemed happy and eager to help.
Visited for Dinner on a Saturday night with a girlfriend and used an entertainment book voucher. Overall it was a lovely evening and I would probably go back.
What I liked: The food was great, small portions but that was ok and we ordered a few share dishes. Lots of interesting dishes to try and unique menu ideas. cocktails were also great too! The bar and restaurant itself is modern, clean and feels like a very cool place to hang out.
What I didn't like: The service was friendly but a little slow. Had to keep asking the waitress to come over to order, get the bill etc.
Interesting place to meet for a drink - didn't really enjoy the cider that was available on tap.
Comfortable choice of seating either inside or out.
Prompt bar service, we didn't eat or look at the menu.
In an effort to promote South American food, the Public House is giving away 450 lunches over three Wednesday's. I was lucky enough to get a voucher for the Anticucho beef spit roast which was served in a white stone-baked bread with lashings of chimichurri, homemade hot sauce and tomato & corn salsa. Quite yummy!
Love this place!!! The food and service was amazing!! Definitely recommend the croquettes, crab slider and chilli dog. I can't wait to return! Only negative was the small portions!
The baby fish was a bit over cooked, and very fiddly with bones. The ribs were delicious, as was the corn. Service was very pleasant. Restaurant was a bit cold due to the alfresco dining so bring a jumper!
Love the rapido lunch menu that changes every couple of weeks. Very good wine list and the staff are always on top of everything. Perfect business lunch spot east end of the city .
Was there for a party last night - accommodating staff - food was nice, they mix a good Hendricks and Tonic!
There seems to be a lack of direction as to what the venue wants to be - other than the two functions on there were no other patrons.
I'd happily have a small gathering of my own there, but wouldn't go for a one off visit.
Yum from the whole table. We booked for six people on a Saturday night and had the 'Feed me' menu. There was so much food and it was all great. Slow cooked meats, ribs that fell off the bone, great starters and there was plenty to go round! No one missed out on anything and I liked the serving sizes. So many sharing menus get the portions wrong but these guys were spot on.
Service was attentive but not over the top which was good. It was a little noisy due to a private function but eventually they closed the doors and it was much better.
The dessert platter was the BEST. I put a note in when I booked that it was my Dad's 70th birthday so they brought out dessert with a special message on a plate for him. It was a great touch that was really appreciated. Amazing tasters, great alfajores, the best churros and those little chocolate and dulce de leche tarts were delicious. The dulce de leche was the best I've had (and I love the stuff!) Absolutely delicious!
$65 a head including a drink, this menu was outstanding value and everyone left full, content and very happy. Great place!
Perfect bar & restaurant, food, cocktails, service & overall vibes are outstanding! Best spot for after work tapas & drinks or ladies night out like we did! Cocktail tasting plate - such a great idea & reasonably priced. Will def be back!
Just Another Aussie In Vancouver
+4.5
I did the Public House Experience, which involves paying a set fee and they bring out a selection of their speciality dishes, this included empanadas, corn chips and avocado dip, ceviche, marinated ribs a desert plate and a few other items. We had 10 guests and everyone was throughly impressed at the quality of the food. The drinks where also delicious, my favourite is the raspberry mojito. It was a great night!
Great if you eat meat. Steer clear if you're a veggie.
Very tasty dishes. On the expensive side of Perth dining.
The betroot salad & chorizo should not be missed.
Good wine selection too.
Had a coffee here this morning- absolutely great coffee and served by the loveliest chap! Worth a stop!
Top marks for food, cocktails and service.. Public House is now in my favourites. The service is outstanding, attentive and polite. The venue is spacious with lots of seating options both inside and out. The cocktail taster plate was fantastic value for money and allowed you to sample all the cocktails without blowing the budget. Then came the food, and wow, it was pure bliss. We ordered the ceviche, chip and dip, empanada and finished off with the most incredible blue cheese I have ever had. Both my partner and I had a really good night and can't wait to come back.
WOW! Dropped in to the pub.... WOW!
Dropped in to the public house for a couple of quiet ales and ended up staying for snacks and dinner.
Had the chip and dip and casa bread for entree and both were absolutely fantastic! The touch of coriander in the avocado dip and the style of chips took it to another level and the sheep yogurt! Fantastic!
Thought they couldn't top this but then out came the Dr pepper 12 hour beef ribs and the smoked lamb shoulder with onion texture! Both were absolutely fantastic.
To top it of when we asked the lovely French waitress to pass on our compliments to the chef, Orgi came out and told us all about each dish!
Great place, great mates, great drinks and great great food!
I ate here before and food was ok ..now food it's awesome....really different and authentic as I been in Brazil Ecuador and Peru we really enjoy the cebiche classic anticucho chicken amazing ..... Went there in lunch and had a surprise with huancaina potatoes exactly as in Lima Peru really want to thanks to public house for this great service and awesome food .....
Beautiful experience
Best meat and chicken in Perth
And to the cebiche as good as the real one in Peru so proud:-)
Food was great - really different. Service was friendly and efficient. Not cheap, but a good night out.
Cant Wait to try the rest of the menu. Visited for the first time on Monday Night and was very impressed, chilled out relaxed place to have a drink and bite to eat with great friendly staff. As much as i love Aussie wine i loved the wide range of international wine it was a nice change. Took us forever to choose a dish as the menu was full of really different dishes so i choose a number of smaller Tapas style options, with my partner choosing the Lamb. We were both very impressed and have already marked what we will have the next time after watching every plate that came from the kitchen. Well worth a visit
Thumbs up on overall ambience and level of service. Food above average. One of my top picks for a friday night out with friends that you actually want to talk to. Saying that coz the place is buzzing, but intimate enough to make great conversation. I may have found my default bar.
Outstanding food, great mixture of flavours and cooking techniques. Well thought out menu with a good variety of dishes. It's good to see more venues with share food. Amazing decor and all round fabulous experience. Can't wait to take all my friends back to my new favourite restaurant!! Great work team!! 2 thumbs up!
Danab. Went for a birthday celebration to the Public House last night. What a great experience. For starters we had the Avo & tomato salsa which was excellent. The Corn cakes, were hot and delicious. The Fish ceviche and smoked ribs were amazing!!!. We also shared the chicken, lamb shoulder and skirt steak. Everything was perfectly cooked and tasty. We finished the meal of with a couple of bottles of the incredible Carinae Cuvée Brigitte Malbec from Mendoza, Argentina which matched the meal perfectly. What a winner
Not sure why everyone seems to be complaining. I was a little worried about the reviews but decided to try the Public House anyway as it is close by. The food was pretty good (avocado & tomato salsa, Yuca frita, empanadas, ceviche clasico and smoked dr pepper wagyu ribs). The service was good and attentive. It's not an 'event-style' pub that you would drive from suburbs away to go to, but if you live or work in the area I think it's a great option. No complaints from me.
Great stuff. Went here last night for a quick meal after the movies, was early so the place wasn't busy.. but cocktails were awesome and generally felt welcome, and at the table too but not too left out when we wanted to order another drink!! food was good the pork with pineapple was great, cool pineapple and salad and pork was a really good combination and the beef ribs really filling wanted dessert but were too full from the movie junkfood!!!! would def go again and try something else from the menu, overall i cant wait to come back
Loved every minute. Staff great, food great, wine fantastic and the place looks nice too. Can't fault it in any way whatsoever.
Think I've found a new local.
Great food..... Another Telina Menzies Hit.... Flavours are complex but fitting, sensational modern twist on South American good... If you expect it to be traditional... Go to a dingy village in Bolivia, great unique version of it all...
I’m a good sport. If you put ribs and rum on your menu for $20 I will take you up on your kind offer. Especially in Perth. It is a outdoorsy, South American themed (but not in an over the top way) bar and restaurant.
I could easily have devoured the smoked Dr Pepper wagyu ribs with green chilli on my own! The beautifully slow cooked meat fell cleanly off the bone, and had a subtle smoky flavour. The lamb ribs are definitely on the must try list on my next visit – the combination of coffee, honey, lime and mint sounds intriguing!
We stopped by Public House as part of their one year birthday celebrations. The highlight of the night was definitely the Argentinian barbecue with the fried yuka.
The most substantial offering on the food front came from Argentina where you could dish up Pork Asado, with a roasted potato salad, a serve of slaw and your choice of chilli sauce in varying degrees of hotness or a more mild chimichurri. It put a dent in out ravenous appetites and was washed down with a cleansing Argentinean ale, Quilmers. I’m not a huge beer drinker but I really enjoyed this brewski.
Last month, burger boy and I were invited to the launch of Public House Kitchen & Bar, The Publican Group’s newest venue. I was personally excited as I’ve been watching the St George Tce end of the Perth CBD buzz with new venues and small bars as the Adelaide Tce end waited patiently for Public House to launch. It’s about time the east end of town got some boozy foodie love!
I decided to visit Public House Kitchen & Bar for lunch to check out their nose to tail dishes on offer for the month of April as part of the Eat Drink Perth 2014 food festival. I like the food served here where there is creativity, flair, and an intelligence demonstrated on the plate in the careful selection and pairing of elements that work beautifully together.
Happy happy 1st Birthday! The PFEs were invited to Public House’s 1st birthday party a couple of weeks ago and it was awesome fun! We were taken on a “trip” through South America and stamped our way across Argentina, Brazil, Ecuador and Peru, sampling a bite and beverage exclusive to each country. At the end we get to vote on which country we liked best. So buckle up and let the journey begins!
The restaurant has a huge alfreso area and I chose to sit here, on the high benches with a view of the coming in and going out of people from the building. I really like the open-aired concept of the place. Lovely ambiance for those who love the outdoors!
