Ok if you want your mouth to water and your taste buds to tingle this is the place. The unique flavours married together of the mouthwatering medley of assorted tapas. It’s exciting to now have a place to dine, drink, graze and relax in Perth knowing you are going to get a premiere of a show everyday day and night. Down to the fabulous French waiter serving you freshly made sangria ladies. An experience not to miss !!!! All they need is the man on his guitar play flamenco and you would think you were in Spain - ole.
Lovely staff, interesting menu at reasonable prices.
Finally somewhere to dine in an al fresco style environment in the CBD that’s not in a mall or food hall or attached to a takeaway outlet.
Trying to think of another venue that offers this but nothing springs to mind.
Will be back and recommending.
I've been to Heno & Rey a few times now with business trips to Perth and found the staff to be exceptionally friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere here is great for a catch-up with friends, to do some business work privately whilst enjoying a nice meal/drinks, or to have a special intimate moment with a loved one (have noticed quite a few dates here, which is wonderful to see).
The noise level can pick up a bit at time, being so close to the theatre and plenty of events in town, but that just adds to the fun. Service is great, food is terrific and there is so much to choose from for drinks you may not know where to start. Be sure to check out Heno & Rey, you'll be glad that you did.

Nestled into busy Perth city, is this tapas bar.
We thoroughly enjoyed the tuna tartare (highly recommended) and the potatos!
We also ordered the steak which was delicious but not mind blowing.
The prawns were delicious but portions ridiculously small for the price.
Sangria was very good
Would return!
Heno & Rey is cool and classy. It’s got an outdoor seating area with bar style seating as well as lower seating for couples and groups. The indoor seating includes some lounge style seating. As tapas start at around 12-17 dollars, main patrons are cbd office workers or those staying at the fancy intercontinental hotel
Tapas options are aplenty - we had the prawns (two prawns in a serve) - very fishy, large and lots of meat. Marinated crumbed fried octopus with charred cauliflower that is served with some orange styled sauce (delicious) , snapper with lemony chickpeas (my second favourite dish. Didn’t know snapped went well with chickpeas), patatas bravas in a chipotle mayo sauce - simple but our favourite dish so addictive we ordered two serves, fried calamari was quite salty and chorizo was very tough and salty
Lemon and salt are key condiments used to flavour all their dishes.
Delicious food
Attentive service
On the pricey side
Great place to grab some food or drinks in the CBD, good location and nice atmosphere. lots of different tapas to choose from with a couple vegetarian options. The potato dish is a must.
Came here with some friends on a weekend. Wait staff were friendly and really knowledgeable about the best recommended dishes on the menu. We went worth the recommended options and absolutely loved the dishes, had to get seconds! Sangria was top notch too! Will be back!
We were not very experimental in our choice of food, but what we ordered was superb. The waiter was friendly and attentive and brought us some sangria to try (which we then ordered). I would go again!
Depending on what you order you may be pleasantly surprised by a great flavourful dish. However, it might take some trial and error as they are unique flavours. The cured meat Paleta was very nice but there was not enough bread to go with it. I was not a fan of the tomato salad, but my friend was. Some of the tomatoes were bitter. The serving sizes were tiny for the price, but that may be the nature of these kinds of restaurants.
We walked in on a Friday night. Very lucky to manage to get a table as it was really busy. Would definitely recommend to make a booking. We were greeted by friendly staff and the menu was explained to us. We ordered the Jamon Iberico de Bellota, it was simply delicious. We also ordered the Chorizito (grilled baby chorizo, sherry and parsley), yellow fin tuna tartare (Guindilla peppers, black sesame, chorizo oil and chives), Pulpo (grilled octopus, fried cauliflower, capers and romesco), Patatas Bravas (fried potatoes, spicy tomato sauce, aioli), and the Croquetas de Jamon (fried Serrano ham and bechamel fritters). Delicious food here! The Pulpo was definitely one of my favourites. Definitely coming back again!
