The veggie soba was really rich but a little beat too oily. The noodles are nice and the octopus popcorn was exciting and delicious. They always have great and prompt service.
I quite like the ramen here but the vegetable noodles I tried on this occasion were pretty disappointing and tasted like instant noodles. Good environment but can get very busy with wait times - you'll probably be seated next to other people.
I’m a huge fan of ramen and this is my favourite one in Perth! The broth is always flavoursome and the noodles on point. I never fail to order extra noodles.
So happy Ippudo are finally in Perth! Ramen is out of this world BUT would be nice if they caught up with the times and stopped using CAGE EGGS - there's no excuse for animal cruelty when there's another option - most people are more than willing to pay that tiny bit more for kindness and quality
A couple of my friends have thought this place was mediocre, but my experience certainly differs. All of the dishes we ordered were amazing!
Like having this place as a dinner option. I usually order the ramens that have a miso basing, they’re delicious. Their chicken karaage is to die for! So juicy! The only thing I wish was better was maybe having a bigger portion of noodles in each ramen dish. Service is always fast and polite!
Definitely worth the hype and frequent que's. The tonkatsu ramen is so authentic and rich and the Akamaru Shinaji with its black garlic oil is also delicious. For sides, I highly recommend the yam fries and gyoza!
Fancy place which is well designed. Tonkotsu was very nice and had a good taste with no overpowering porkyness to it. Nicely balanced. Chasu was good but the size is pretty small. I felt really thirsty afterwards which kinda makes me think of the msg.
This is one of the best Perth ramen places in my books. Went for the spicy ramen, as I always do, which was very flavourful. Ippudo also offers a wide variety of other non-ramen dishes, which is great for sharing amongst a party of diners.
Finally got a chance to try Ippudo after the hype cooled down.
The service was fast and nice, the price and portion was reasonable, if anything, the pork flavour was not as strong as the other tonkotsu ramen around.
Came here a while ago with a friend, and while I wasn't wild enough over the ramen options to give it a try (I'm a Hokkaido-style fan), I loved the Izakaya vibe they had going.
A great place to pop in after work and have some good quality, affordable sake with tasty snacks like their Edamame and Japanese Yam fries, which I go out of my way to purchase specifically. I love the friendly staff who greet you as you walk in, and the convenient boxes to store your bags so nobody trips over wandering between tables. It has both bar-seating and table-seating depending on your preference, and based on other peoples' reviews of the ramen it seems obvious that I have to come back and give it a try! Out of the Japanese restaurant venues on offer in Perth, I rate this one highly for range, convenience, and value - the reputation of Ippudo both nationally and in Japan is positive, and it's clear to see why.
It wasn't too busy when we went there for lunch so we got a table as soon as we walked in. We had a toddler so we were seated in the large table in the middle and they brought over a high chair for my nephew.
I quite liked the windows in the kitchen so you can see them working away on all the tasty food that they produce. We had the steamed buns and the gyoza to start and of course ramen as mains. We had both the pork and chicken buns and I preferred the chicken one since it had a crispness to it. I had the shiromaru special, the standard tonkotsu ramen with extra toppings on the side. The broth was nice and tasty and the toppings all gave it extra flavour, as did the sesame seed mill on the table.
Nice food and nice service so not a bad place for a bite.
You can hardly find food with this quality and price in Perth. We ordered gyoza, edamame, seared salmon sushi, signature ramen, wagyu tataki gohan and a kids meal. Every dish was impeccable.
Service was excellent, layout of the store was wide and easy to move around. 10/10 will revisit whenever we crave for a good meal.
We came here on a weeknight and there was no queue. We were greeted by the friendly staff and guided to our table. We ordered the akamaru and karaka with extra noodles and a side of gyoza. Absolutely love the food: broth, noodle, meat. Everything is just on point.
Update: Tried Goma Q, Ebi guacomole and Bakuretsu tofu and they were delicious!
Been there twice and great service and food both times. Ramen noodles are so tasty, found that noodle portions vary at times, tad bit disappointing. Crispy crab entrée is amazing!!! Yam fries were $7 for like 8-10 pieces and not yummy! Would go back to try other dishes on the menu.
Went here with a friend twice and both times was fully satisfied. I had akamaru special and sy had shiromaru. Ramen is served in big red bowl and noodles are made according to the thickness u specify. I love the booth seating and both times I haven't had to wait at all for a seat. It is comfy to sit even if there are many diners as the restaurant is laud out well. Food is brought out very quickly and is delicious. I also love the pork bao. Very friendly servers and always a pleasure to go there, highly recommend!!! Great prices for the servings here too!!
Love the ramen here, broth is nice and reminded me of the ramen we had in Japan. Hope they expand to include other flavours, will be back again when we crave for ramen. Recommended.
Came here Saturday for brunch, it wasn’t too busy but eventually built up for lunch. The ramen was delicious, the best I’ve tried in Perth so far. People may complain that it’s pricey but for that quality of food it really fits the bill.
Best tasting ramen you can get in Perth! Wow I was mind blown at how amazingly great their ramen tastes! Absolutely delicious!!! The gyozas were perfect and the crab frites, they were just something out of this world! Will definitely be coming back and soon too!
The sesame panna cotta is a must try! It is not too sweet and quite refreshing while served in berries and fresh sesame. A constantly busy but friendly place.
Despite the large restaurant size, there is still a queue out the door. Came at 7pm on a Friday night and waited about 15/20min to get a table for 2. We were seated at the bar which would have been perfectly fine except every time the front door was opened (which is constantly because of the staff getting names and numbers to add to their waitlist and then frequently ushering people in) a wind chill came in.
Food is quick, comes more or less all at once so no "entrees" per se. Food was all really good - very interesting options on the menu.
Not too much pressure to leave quickly - perhaps because we got there "lateish".
Yummy broth and nice ambiance. The noodles was great and definitely tasted like other branches all over the world. Friendly staff with quick service. I will be back for more. Family friendly.
Been here when it first opened , very impressed with the service , food came very fast as well for the first day it opened had been back 3 times now reccomended
One of the best ramen in Perth
Plenty of paid prking nearby
Waited about 15min on a weekday night
Prices are significantly more expensive considering its just ramen
But broth was amazingly creamy, deep, perfect for the cold night
Ordered the karakamen w tamago; amazing highly recommended!
Slightly salty but hey its ramen
Would def come back and also would love to try their entree dishes
So glad to visit Ippudo in Perth after trying out their branch in Melbourne. The ramen was good and we really enjoyed it. The gyoza were very tasty, very thin dumpling skin and flavorsome fillings. The eel with rice was really delicious too. The only dish I didn't enjoy was the spicy tofu soup. Service was friendly. There are charges if using credit card to pay.
Rate: 3.5
Tried the Original, Garlic and Spicy Ramen. All three types were very enjoyable, especially with the Black Asahi, which is so refreshing. 😋 Noodles have great texture, though personally I prefer the thin straight noodles the best. Broths are also tasty and flavourful.
Entrees were a hit-and-miss. Love the crispy fried chicken wings (Teba Kara) and the tender beef with fried enoki (Beef Sagari Yaki). But the yam fries were too oily and not worth the price. The steamed pipi clams weren't very fresh; some had a strong odor, which is a shame, because the broth was delicious.
For desserts, we had the Nutella choc pot, matcha cheese tart and black sesame panna cotta. The panna cotta and cheese tart were the more enjoyable ones, but overall, desserts are pretty average.
Lovely setting and interior. Prices are on the steeper end. Will most likely come back only for the ramen.
I went there at 6pm on Friday. Just the right time and no queue. Service is good. Staff are friendly. Seared salmon sushi melts in your mouth. I will go back to eat that again. For the ramen, the flavoured egg is very nicely done. Noodle and tonkatsu broth are nice too. Price is pricy compared to other Japanese restaurant. Should have a try and must go early if you do not want to wait.
Came at 11.30 on a weekday, managed to beat the lunch rush and got seated straight away. Staff are great, super professional but also casual and attentive. They gave us a box to pop our bags into so they didn’t have to lie on the floor. Love the space and the design.
Got the basic Hakata style tonkotsu with an egg ($17), and the tonkotsu with miso and black garlic oil ($16; the actual name evades me), and 3 pieces of karaage ($6). We ordered noodles cooked hard based on the waitress’s recommendation.
The broth was so tasty! Super silky collagenous mouthfeel with not a small amount of fat. I preferred the basic one but my partner preferred the miso/black garlic one. The noodles were great, perfect chew and oh so slippery. The tamago was cooked perfectly (#yolkporn), definitely worth the $2. The miso one came with pork belly whereas the basic one came with pork loin. The belly was superior, would recommend.
The karaage was too oily for my taste, tasted too heavy and it was subsequently soggy at the bottom after it had sat a while - eat them first!! The karaage at Hakata Gensuke is the best I’ve had in Perth so far, beats this one hands down.
I would rate the broth superior to Hakata Gensuke, the pork belly better than chashu at Nao but I still prefer the noodles at Nao more than here or Gensuke.
I’m already planning a trip back to try the spicy broth and the baby crab fritters. Worth a try, please go!

So we came back two days later and I got the miso/black garlic broth. Oh my goodness was so good. And the little crab fritters. The crabs were about a 10cent piece size in width, super crunchy and oceanic. Loved them.
Ippudo is finally here! They're one of my favourite ramen places, so it's good that Perth finally has an outlet.
I've tried ippudo in several locations and the Perth branch is not the best I've had, it's somewhere in the middle. So this could be better, but it's still a good bowl of ramen.
I had to have the pork bun, and the chasiu was just as tender as I remembered it. It was a bit stingy on the sauce from what I remember, but otherwise good.
The Tonkotsu ramen was great, a nice silky, porky broth. The noodles were nice and chewy. A very satisfying meal.
Prompt and friendly staff. Chose the Akamaru Chashu with Kata (Hard) noodles and it was delicious. The photo doesn't do it justice. I'll definitely be back here again to try the other versions!
Nice interior and really helpful and friendly staff. They cater for kids eg. High chair and cutlery but unfortunately there’s no change table at this restaurant. We had the Shiro ramen ($15 yum! I tasted the salted egg yolk in this) lunch set with salad and gyoza ($4.50 crispy side and moist in the middle), bakuretsu tofu ($10 good spicy taste especially when the weather is cold), yam fries ($7 crunchy! Yum!), salmon sushi roll ($15 yummmmmmmm, I would go back just for this) and tori karaage don ($12 this was the only dish that didn’t WOW me). The servings all looked small but in the end, both of us struggled to finish it all.
The original tonkotsu ramen is creamy and broth has a few flavour. Very yummy! Paid an extra $5 to get more chashu, which is quite pricey. Also had a side of gyoza which was delicious. Food was served pretty quickly even though it was a full house that day
I was very happy to dine at Ippudo over the weekend and more importantly, not having to queue (although this was at 9pm at night).
Ordered the Akamaru style ramen- flavoursome broth, although if you’re a big eater I’d suggest you go for the special with extra ingredients.
As for the sides we had the baos which was a tad pricey in my opinion for what came out so probably would not order it again . Salmon Aburi sushi was beautifully presented and sure packed a punch especially when you had it in one bite.
Ramen is definitely more on the pricey side but worth trying. I’d rate this place a 3.5 stars
Perth has started to transform in recent years with its new architecture and now food scene. Best part about the visit was not needing to queue up at Ippudo on a weekday lunch. The restaurant is huge, modern and filled with its very friendly (and authentic) staff.
The ramen was tasty, particularly so because of its fat-laden broth. The egg was cooked to perfection and I wished I had more than just one. The salmon roe sushi was a killer - the mentaki sauce definitely lifted the dish.
We wend there on Friday night, 10 minutes before opening there was a long queue waiting already. The decor was very modern with open kitchen, the price was top level as well, food is just above average. But happy to see something new in Perth, will recommend to try.
The ramen was very good, I ordered the spicy one (it’s not that spicy at all but it is very nice). My partner ordered the chicken don bowl which he enjoyed but portion was small (as expected as we’ve visited the Sydney stores before). We also got a trio of Baos and yam fries to share. The buns were average and the yam fries were a tiny tiny serve for the price. The staff were also a little rude and not very helpful. I’ll come back again but only for the ramen.
Well done Ippudo! Came here with frienda during busy lunch hour and had lots of fun! For one, despite the long queue, the wait time was not that bad because they were quiet efficient in allocating seats and squeezing people in. The staff even apologized for squeezing us into a table that she thought was quiet small but actually big enough (pretty spacious actually) for us!
The meal was good too, I had the akamaru ramen and it was creamy and tasty - though to be honest the portion is small.
I also tried the gohan from my friend (one ordered karage while the other ordered the unagi). Prices were cheap but that because the portions were so small. But I have to admit the unagi was amazing!! I don’t think one bowl is enough for me!
For appetizer, we ordered the spicy goma q - it was not my field - personally I think it was just an expensive cucumber with spicy sauce. It’s refreshing though!
We had a very enjoyable experience. The atmosphere was vibrant, the decor was beautiful and the staff were friendly. The akamaru ramen with egg was creamy, and the egg yolk was soft and gooey. The wagyu tataki with enoki mushrooms was tough, a bit disappointing. The chicken karaage buns tasted good but the chicken wasn't really cooked 'karaage' style (there was no coating). Overall we had a great time, and it was worth trying. Wouldn't mind coming back again :)

there was a wait but not that long on a sunday night because we took a shared table.
we ordered :
1) deep fried baby crabs (i love these because you cant get undersized crabs in australia so getting these are not common)
2) chicken karrage (was juicy and moist, quite good!)
3) salmon rolls , seared on the outside (was good too)
4) normal pork bone broth ramen (i liked it!) - didnt order the upsized $24 one though
5) spicy broth ramen (i liked this too!)
6) light and soft panna cotta black sesame (ok not bad, cant taste the sesame)
7) matcha cheesecake (this was not bad too)
We had lowered expectations due to the hype- but oevrall, i really thought the food was good. I would return ... This branch is a great addition in perth.
Even though there was a line around the corner we only waited about 15 minutes on a Thursday night, very quick turnover. Everything was delicious! The ramen has the best broth that i have tasted compared to other ramen joints. Rich in flavour, not too oily and doesn’t leave you drinking water for the rest of the night. Even though you get to pick the hardness of the noodle, as they are so thin, it doesn’t make much difference. The salmon sushi roll melts in your mouth. The fried crabs were quite a unique dish. It is quite pricey but at least the quality is there. Will definitely be back to try the other dishes on the menu besides ramen
