The burgers they serve here are mouth wateringly good, and it is a good place to watch the football games when they are on. Will most likely be back
Used to frequent the crawley outlet whilst i was in UWA but now head to waterford as its closer to home. Love the value you get here with the generous serve of fries with the burgers. Can never look past the texan. Such a tasty meal, oozing with flavour. Love the cheeseburger deals, wings deals and quiz nights that they host too. Not to mention the great value you get with $15 varsity lager jugs. Just make sure you get there early to get a table!

OUR TAKE
Varisty is home to American themed dining, serving burgers, hotdogs and drinks. Varisty has a laid-back atmosphere and well-priced, satisfying food.
FOOD
We would always opt for the burgers here, as they have plenty to choose from. All of the burgers come with fries, which is a bonus. The variety of flavours meant that we could always try something new, but even the classic $12 cheeseburger was a hit. Simple and tasty.
VIBE
American/Arcade themed, Varisty is similar to University bars around America, and has both inside and outside dining (on the roof). It’s always busy and has a nice buzz to it both at night and during the day.
SERVICE
Great service and staff, although sometimes they can take a little longer to come out than normal burger joints.
CRITIQUES
Besides the wait time, they have forgotten our order a few times, which they quickly fixed up. Also, the kitchen closes here at 9pm, which seems early for a busy place that mostly serves uni students and young people
OVERALL
Varsity is a simple and easy go-to place for many young people in the area. The tasty, cheap food is always satisfying, and the vibe is great for groups.
We had a great lunch for 3 which was cooked really well. The cost was very reasonable to.
Good choice of wine a beers but the highlight was definitely my daughters milkshake. It was a surprise being in a Pyrex jug but worked really well. Along with a mass of cream on top. Luckily my daughter loves cream so she was happy and wants us to go back again so she can have more milkshakes here.
The ambiance and decor was very nice and American-y.
We ordered the buffalo chicken burger, strawberry cheesecake milkshake and the deal of the day $10 pizza (from $18 to $10).
Chicken burger was nice and juicy and especially tasty with the whole pickle on top! Love this extra touch. The fries at varsity are one of the best thin cut crispy fries in Perth - the best part of the entire meal were the fries! The milkshake was insane! Ridiculously big and beautiful cup of milkshake.
However, the pizza was average but it was $10 so couldn't ask for more!
Overall, a great experience and great food at reasonable prices!
I only got to this place for their deals! This one was their 30pcs hot wings. Bought them for only $18. Good deals! It’s also a good place to hang out with friends.
In the mood for a ‘dirty’ burger 🍔? (I mean it in a good way!) American style - soft bread, juicy meat with sauce ooozing out the side. I make the mistake of getting the ‘double’ which is big! Can’t make it to Varisty then get it delivered via Ubereats! 🚙💨
Ice cold beer (good selection on tap) 🍺 & the live sport on the screens. A bar straight from the states. Great place to meet up with friends to watch the game

This place is my guilty pleasure. I'm no longer considered a university 'student' anymore, and my metabolism can't handle burgers as often as it used to, but MAN is this place worth the trip!
I tend to go when I know it's quiet (sunday mornings when a game isn't scheduled, and weekdays) to get a Cheese burger with chips. I've also tried their milkshakes which are a delicious monstrosity (they're served in a pyrex jug topped with cream, and sprinkled with flavour-related toppings. HOO BOY. Make sure you have a friend to help you out!).
A word of warning - the burgers are quite heavy and the chips are thick-cut, so keep that in mind when ordering. The serving sizes are generous!
Varsity specialises in end-of-semester parties, football games, and basketball screenings. Their massive TV's can be watched by pretty much every seat in the house, and this branch has great al fresco dining on a verandah platform outside. It can get insanely busy around american football finals so keep an eye out for when they're playing - Varsity's pretty good with advertising so you'll have no problem.
They have a well-stocked bar, great seasonal specials (strawberry and watermelon alcoholic slushies in summer, and mulled wine in winter) and good lunch time deals if you want to try something new at a discounted rate. Keeping in mind that the normal prices are quite good - chips are included with a burger, and the excellent varsity mayo is only a few extra cents on the side. This place also sells american soft drinks like cherry cola and A&W creaming soda, and the arcade game machines make this place friendly for older kids (I'd say over the age of 10).
My final comment is that I've always been treated well by staff - they're friendly, and usually quite attentive even when the place is packed. Of the many times I've gone my order has only been incorrect twice, and staff are always quick to fix any errors.
This place doesn't seem to need a great review as they are always nice and busy whenever I'm there. However I must take the time to say how much we love it here. Excellent value and good food quality. A must for anyone who loves a good pub feast. Props to the manager (guy with big beard) who is always on the ball.
4 of is had an ealry dinner here on Thursday evening.
Service was friendly, although took a little while to get served at the bar.
We all had burgers, which were really nice...the buns were soft and the meat patties full of flavour and not over cooked.
Menu seemed a little over priced.
Will be back to try thr triple cheeseburger !!

My family and I went to Varsity last night for dinner. Hubby ordered the Trifecta Burger with bacon, kids ordered Texan burger with bacon, Double cheese deluxe with bacon, a Tupac'd burger; while I ordered the chilli dawg. There was a mix up with our order as another burger that we didn't order was brought to our table. The staff quickly realised that we were charged for the extra burger and brought a refund to our table and apologised profusely. I mean, what sort of restaurant does that nowadays? It's unheard of. They could have charged, but not offered a refund unless the customer brought it to their attention. Everyone was very happy with their burgers and there was silence at the table while everyone dug in. My chilli dawg was tasty, but nothing to write home about. I'm going to return for a burger next time. We sat on the upper deck, but downstairs was cranking and had atmosphere about it. Their milkshakes come in Pyrex glass mugs which I thought was quite cute... very tasty banana milkshake too (tasted like Banana Nesquik)! Will definitely return again!
Just as good as the original in Nedlands. Had the cheese deluxe and it was seasoned perfectly and cooked just right. I've only been to this one once but it was great and will return.
Generally a good time there for a casual beer and burger with friends. I would go back for another visit as the bar and atmosphere is great.
The burgers and chips are very tasty and the serving sizes are decent. The place has good atmosphere during the day as its not too busy. The service was quite fast and the prices are reasonable. We would definitely go again.
Delicious and juicy burgers! Generously serve a handful of fries with every burger! Only down side is that the hot wings are tiny! But other than that, very convenient burger stop to visit after class if you study at Curtin University!

Varsity bar awesome place and great atmosphere service was really good . The burgers was delish i had the mcfly the beef was juicy and the buns was great . The milkshake was huge will be back again.

BEST BURGERS IN PERTH. Just like the other varsitys so can't say I'm surprised. Love the ribs here and the mushroom pizza! Old fave 'cheese deluxe' still best burger in my book. Gluten free buns still best I've had. Ever. Staff are super friendly and there's something for everyone. Took 15 year old niece; she loved it. Took 91 year old nana; she loved it.
Visited Varsity burger bar yesterday for lunch with a mate. We had cheeseburger & buffalo chicken burger with lemonade. Both burgers were good, freshly made and came with beer battered chips 4/5.
Service was good, smiling wait staff 4/5.
Ambience was great 5/5
Only downside - price of burger... Buffalo chicken which tasted like KFC peri zinger burger, was $20 which is pretty steep if you're a uni student or a general customer.

Imagine good times with your mates watching sport on TV all the time while enjoying American style food. Yes, you can find that in Varsity Bar. Varsity Bar was opened in February 2013 with its first American college themed bar in Nedlands. Last Sunday evening, we visited Varsity Bar Waterford, Varsity’s second outlet. The restaurant and bar was buzzing with people enjoying a drink or two while watching the epic Australian Open Grand Finals between Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal. It was a chilled and relaxed atmosphere, with bursts of excitement in the crowd when someone scores.
Love the burger, love the place, love Varsity!!! Came here with few friends on Saturday night and just fell in love with the ambiance! Reminded of my uni life where we went to a bar to have a drink while watching footy match! The place is cozy and entertaining too with live sports matches and a couple of arcade machines.
But the highlight for me would definitely the burgers! Ordered the deluxe cheese and it was just so yummy. The beef was fat and juicy, so soft and the melted cheese and sauces just culminated into one super delicious burger!
Upgraded my fries into the chilli fries ($8 extra - a bit pricey - only found out after I paid). In hindsight, I probably ordered that to share, not for individual as the portion is quiet big (don't forget you have the burger too!).
Oh, and the pickle on top of the burger! Man, oh man, I could eat a basket of those!!! Why only 1?? Hahaa.. will definitely come back again!
Just popped in for a quick takeaway on a Friday lunch. Fairly busy but still great service. Food was served relatively fast as well.
Ordered the Cheese Deluxe. Fairly tasty burger with a big mac type sauce as a substitute for whole pickles. This was quite delicious but I did miss a large pickle in the burger. All ingredients were fresh and crisp and the extra bacon was done ok (not crispy but probably could have requested).
A good burger for a surburbia option but could improve. How? Cook the beef medium rare to medium (it was cooked through) and serve skinny french fries. (Why don't more places do skinny fries? The only way to burger!)

Came here for a few drinks and a burger. OMG fresh buns and a side of chips. Decided to have a recommendation from a friend (milkshake) this was epic and couldn't get through it.
It's reasonably priced but a little on the high side maybe, but you can make up your own minds when looking at the menu.
Flys tho we're a bit of an issue with the large open door.
Great food serving sizes as i didn't expect it to be a lot. The hotdog that i had was massive. All the fillings that i loved! YummO! 😋 Plus chips are a bonus. The popcorn salted caramel milkshake is sooo goood but super sweet. The atmosphere in this place is incredible. Different sports playing on each TV.
Very good attempt at true American style food! Burgers were delicious and decent size too. Also got the hot wings and jalapeño poppers with blue cheese sauce...delicious! Especially the wings! Nice crispy skin, spicy yet a little sour sauce exactly how I'd tasted in NYC.
Will definitely be back!
My boyfriend and I love Varsity, it's our go-to burger joint! This new place has a great setting and atmosphere, friendly service, and consistently delicious food. Basically any burger off the menu is awesome.

Could our Friday night get any better. Virgin diners to Varsity and now we are hooked. So happy this venue changed to this, as now it suits the cliental here. The vibe is a college sports bar, filled with young Uni students .Friday night 615pm and its packed, found a table , order at the bar , 4mains, 2 sides, 5 alcoholic drinks and only $150 !! We we're stocked. We had the Mcfly (perfectly spiced and amazing flavours). The Notorious was the pulled pork, great flavours and so moist . The steak burger and Tupacd were great too. The buffalo wings with ranch are definitely worth mentioning. Our first time with deep fried pickles , not a fan but others enjoyed them. Great for young people and families, we will be coming back with our kids here for sure . 👏🏻👏🏻
Another Varsity, how could things get any better! Opening day made the effort to get down for lunch and the place was looking the goods, still had a hint of fresh paint. Went straight to the menu and seemed to notice something new, the 'pounder' x4 meat patties... thought about it but will save it for a night out with the boys. Double cheese deluxe add pimento add bacon, perfect. Staff were friendly and noticed a few faces from the nedlands store too. Looking forward to more time here as it's even closer than the other stores to me. Keep up the good work!
I’m addicted to the vegan buffalo “wings”. The vegan burgers are so good though I wish you’d get beyond patties 😛

Food was so good I forgot to take pictures. They have deals on each night and tonight was cheese burger five dollars a pattie. Onion rings were amazing. Can't wait to go back and try something else 😊 Service was great as well and if you want a table I suggest you book ahead as it was very busy
This was my first time going here and I didn't know what to expect, but now I can say I'm so pleased that I did the food was incredible and so much flavour. The staff was so friendly n inviting I can't wait to go back.

An extensive menu with an enormous range of burgers to choose from. Apparently Varsity is famous for its specials. I ordered a deluxe single cheeseburger (it was HUGE) and my son a texan burger. Both were delicious! A huge group of us ate together and everyone was happy with their meals. The childs meal came in a cardboard truck box and the 9 year old who was with us was delighted with her massive kids meal. Huge thanks to the friendly door and bar staff. A great venue!
