Review Rolld Vietnamese - Perth

i dine in just now to try this viet resto but a huge surprise of disappointment, i ordered vietnamese beef with rice and i received 90% of rice with 10% of beef this kind of dish is shouldn’t be in the menu coz no one wants to buy just cooked rice with the hint of beef, i would not recommend this it’s just a waste of money….

I have eaten here a few times. While the food is always good the service is terrible. There is no customer service, they treat you like a production line. The amount of times you have to repeat yourself is a little frustrating as they clearly do not listen. I was in there again this week, after the lunch rush hour, their service was slow and terrible as I watched (waiting for my meal) and witnessed two others get the same treatment as me. In addition to that I watched the staff member use her two fingers to grab inside the cup then proceeded to fill it with soup! No gloves... dude! As I said food is good, on the expensive side, and they use way too much packaging. Surely you could be more conscious of the "waste" with packaging.

The service and ambience is good... but foodwise I didn't find it worth the price... I tried the pho and the bahn mi ... vegetarian.. and the flavors and fillings were way too minimal... not good value for money in my opinion...

The mushroom Pho is always on-point. Tofu rice paper rolls are quite good too.

Yum yum yum yum yummmmm!!!! Had the pork and prawn salad prefect serving size and it was delicious!! I know this might sound a bit a little unthought off at the moment but due to small amount or seating, it would be great if I could suggest share tables?! Other than limited seating...it was great.

Great friendly staff. Hardly any wait time and the barramundi fillet was delicious. Great spritz drink. Reasonable prices.

I try to walk past here every Saturday and try not to order anything but it is just soooooo yummy! The service is always with a smile, it's quick and efficient and although I order something new every week, I can't help but drool at the thought of a Bao or two and am never disappointed with their soft fresh fluffy texture and amazing flavours inside. Can highly recommend this place, one of my favourite take always. Thank you Rolld 140!

This store failed to accept my order twice. I get an email saying it has been accepted, I go to the store and they've said it was cancelled but as you can see my app (hours later) still says Kitchen accepting order. So this is partly the store's fault and partly their app. Worst of it was I couldn't re-order in front of them because the coupon code was now 'used'. Not a happy customer. Won't be returning.

Purchased a tofu bao and was not disappointed. A bit small for $4.50 but was very tasty and surprisingly filling. So much flavour! Would recommend this location of rolld as it always super quick and friendly service.
Some Like It Hot
Had the pork baguette. Had good flavour but it’s not the best pork meat I’ve had. It apparently comes with pork crackling. I wouldn’t say a few sprinkles or ground up crackling meets that description. Tasted ok though overall. Must be better Vietnamese pork baguettes elsewhere.

Clean and friendly, nice staff but..hmm i’ve been here probably 4times because of location but foods not good. Only reason why eating food here is location

Although Roll’d is generally clean and edible, it is difficult to even call this Vietnamese. It’s a cheap, extremely westernised imitation of what should be amazing and tasty food. Not worth it.

Went there for work lunch, unfortunately our experience was not pleasant. Ordered a raw beef pho and a crispy prawns bao; the soup was not hot and could barely cook the thin beef slices. After a few spoonfuls of the soup, we decided to bring back and asked for changing a new bowl of noodle with hot soup. The service staff wasn't helpful but still agreed to exchange for one. However, instead of warming up the soup properly in the pot she microwaved the whole dish. We ended up getting a cloudy muddy soup and the beef slices tasted tough. Plus we were expected to carry the bowl back to our table after being told they didn't have enough trays. The service and the way they treated their foods were totally unacceptable. Have no respect on the dishes they served at all. Personally think this is unacceptable and not happy to return

Not good. I had the rice paper rolls with chicken and avocado. Where do I start? The rice paper roll was extremely dry and hard to chew. Not a lot of chicken or avocado. Left disappointed really.

There is no "0" button for me to choose, otherwise it is definatly 0.<br/><br/>Tthe famous beef and chicken noodle soup is only warm which feels like left over food, and also the noodles are definatly old coz taste like baby food.<br/>The whole bowl is so small and not enough for me ( a girl who is only 45kg) and they charge 11.5 for it.<br/><br/>The waitress cant explain where is the toliet which is just behind the mirror sculpture. She just told me its around the corner for like three times. Could you please just spend few second and explain it with  a little bit details? (bad service).<br/><br/>NOT RECOMMENDED

One word "eww". We had roll'd at the railway lane. Not authentic at all. It should be ashamed to call itself Vietnamese cuisine. Won't come back.

Nice no gimmick Vietnamese food. Very popular during lunch time. Have tried their chicken banh mi and it was nice. They also have Vietnamese soups which I have had in the other Roll'd 140 William street. Check that review.

Had roast pork banh mi the other da. It's like one of the worst one I had in Perth. Very little meat, lotsa so-called pickled vege which are not pickled at all. Portion is small and expensive. Not ever going back.

There was no alcohol, and the food was too expensive for the amount and quality given.<br/><br/>I won't be coming back, they lured us in without telling us there was no alcohol.

Finally having the chance to check out this new sensation in the city. It was a bit of disappointment for me and my colleagues.<br/><br/>We all ordered the Viet pancakes in BBQ chicken and roast pork flavour. The pancakes came hard and chewy, the roast port dry and no much taste and the dipping sauce was way too sweet and there just wasn't enough veggies.<br/><br/>I think there is much room for improvement as in a traditional Viet restaurant I could get less price for double the servicing and nicer texture.<br/><br/>Don't think I would go back base on this dish but maybe could try other dishes.

While the place was new , I found the dish that I had extremely short of the title of the meal. Plenty enough of the salad but very short of the pork and prawn that was suppose to be with it , of which I found hard to understand. My wife had the same opinion.  The tables were far too close to each other. The service was good enough. When you saw the rollicking business the other restaurants were doing nearby and Roll'd only less than quarter full ,it might be a thought for the place to start bulking up the ingredients on the plate. I'm afraid that we will not be going back.

Came here out of just wanting to try something new <br/>Lady who served us was wonderful and nice <br/>Ordered the banh mi viet baguette <br/>Very misleading picture<br/>Barely any meat in the baguette, mostly carrot, plus the meat was just drenched in soy sauce so all I tasted was veges and then a thick strong pungent taste of soy sauce <br/>The spring onion in it was impossible to eat as well as it wasn't chopped up not an expert but found it hard to down so I just took it out<br/><br/>Over all wouldn't recommend from my experience

Dunno about Cloister's Square, but the Roll'd in Railway Lane by the train station is AMAZEBALLS. So fresh! I generally find most Asian food too oily and heavy for my taste, with the exception of Japanese, but my roast pork (with crackling!) noodle salad was crisp, light, and totally satisfiying. Though next time (and yes, there will SO be a next time!) I will ask for no herbs, cause they chuck parsley and mint on like there's no tomorrow.

I cheated today. <br/>I'm not proud, but I found myself hungry and alone in the city, with my beloved Mama Trans closed and nowhere to go. Wandering around and getting crankier by the second, I decided to pop into Roll'd and try their version of a Vietnamese noodle salad, I mean, surely they couldn't stuff it up that badly right? Wrong!<br/>After waiting in line for forever (which is a good sign) I ordered the noodle salad with roast pork and crackle! CRACKLE! I was excited! I have loved pork since before I was born! Pork and I are tight! <br/>I stood back and waited for my salad, watching the two young guys cook! As I am watching I see one kid reach down and pick up a massive container filled with this grey, sad, pathetic looking meat. This is where I start feeling a twinge of worry coming on. The meat looked rank, like old cardboard that had been soaked and dried a few times (you know that old box in your shed that's been there for like 10 years and is falling apart and looking nasty). Surely that couldn't be the 'roast pork with crackling' could it? No way could someone pass that off as roast pork with crackle.... but they did! :-(<br/>The salad was absolutely revolting! There is no polite way to put it. It flat out sucked! <br/>The meat was dry AH, tasted like it has been marinading in the Dead Sea for a week and had the awful kebab store crunch (you know that dried meat on a hotplate crunch that you get in your 3 am pissy kebab?). The dressing might as well have been watered down fish sauce, with no depth or character. They vegetables weren't even picked. What on earth made them think they could pass off this absolute shite as Vietnamese food is beyond me. And worst of all, there wasn't any crackling (not to mention that the pork wasn't even roasted)! <br/>I'm angry, and hungry, because this salad was so bloody bad, I chucked it after two mouthfuls. <br/>Bloody shame. <br/>Will teach me for cheating! <br/>

We had the baramundi and avocado rice paper rolls which were beautiful and fresh, especially with the citrus dipping sauce. We then shared a classic bahn mi which was huge and full of flavour! This was all accompanied by delicious and refreshing iced teas which were only $2.5. For two of us it only cost $23!! The staff were also very polite and helpful. Will definitely be going back again :) perfect for any occasion

Okay, here it goes - waiter who served us was polite and friendly however forgot to give us napkins. The quality of the food was well below average. I ordered the banh mi and my partner ordered the raw beef pho. The banh mi bread was not crispy and the beef in the pho was tough and not rare despite the menu saying so. Soup was extremely bland as well. Presentation and setting is nice and clean however food did not satisfy any of our viet cravings. Portion size also small. Sorry but I will not be back.

The most pathetic, tired and soulless bah mei in Perth. Looks like an accountant selected rolls 30% smaller than average to increase initial profits but I guarantee that no one with self respect would offer repeat business. Given the competition with La Viet and Fresh Provs you'd think a new business would be on their A game but this pathetic excuse for lunch was as bland as it was unfulfilling. My favorite Bah Mei in Perth is still East Cafe and they make a great iced latte too. The iced lemon tea was nice but the cup was mostly ice blocks.

ordered the roast pork banh xeo that tasted really nice but the banh xeo was too thin.. i would've preferred it to be thicker instead of snapping everywhere like wafer.. the bun bo hue was delicious, tasted really traditional. also ordered the chicken ribs and pork spring rolls which cost $8 altogether and was a tiny serving!! the spring rolls looked like it came from a packet from iga.. overall good food and good service
MmmFood
Came for dinner, the food was alright, wasn't the tastiest of food. The portions were large but this was due to the noodle/Vietnamese salad filling in. The ordering was fun and the service was friendly. <br/>Overall was an average experience.

The taste is great. So fresh and healthy, they have low carb option as well. I tried the small plate like vegetables spring roll, seafood spring roll and crispy chicken ribs, those are so beautiful. Also order noodle salad, love the freshness of the salad. Broken rice menu with beef bbq also great. Don't forget to order their Pho.

Amazing decor, good atmosphere and kind staff. Food came out quick, ordered the pork crackling banh mi and bbq chicken and garlic prawn fresh paper rolls. Super disappointed on the food, the crackling was nice and crisp but the bread was not toasted and tasted bland. The rolls had no flavour, not worth $3.90 for ONE roll, and not a fan of the little sachets of sauce, didn't have enough and it went all over my hands when trying to open it, no serviettes were given on the table either. Would come back to try something new maybe....

I have been there on open day... free food today. The staffs r quite friendly. I ordered a broken rice which was disappointed, in my opinion, the broken rice i have not seen any place putting the beansprout on.... the roast pork was really good

Went for lunch here today at the enex100 store. The queue was long but it didn't take long for the food to arrive. I ordered the pork spring roll noodle salad with a side of sweet potato fries and lemon iced tea all for $13.90 which I thought was a bargain. It was average with the lemon tea being slightly sweet however all ok. Will try the rice paper rolls next time round as they seemed to be the more popular choice.

To say that Roll'd is popular could be an understatement if the queue today is anything to go by.  I'd not read the reviews here but in hindsight they might have saved me from a very disappointing lunch - the barbeque chicken bun noodle salad looked fresh and enticing in the  bowl but was bland and overwhelmingly sweet.

Checked out Roll'd for lunch today, a new one opened in the Enex 100 food court. There was a long queue but it didn't take that long before we got our food! I had the house made pork spring bills bun (noodle salad) while my friend had the bbq chicken version. We both liked the meal! Will definitely be back! It's like Vietnamese fast food stall!

My friend and I came here and our high expectations quickly plummeted. We ordered a cold roll each, just to see how good this place is. Sadly it's not, the cold rolls were a bit too saturated, they were pretty flavourless, they had a lot of noodles in them and not much of the other stuff. My bbq chicken one needed more flavour or sauce. Have had better cold rolls at the carousel shopping centre food court. Disappointing!

Awesome decor, great place, good staff and idea. But banh mi had no Pate' which is the main ingredient in traditional Vietnamese banh mi!!! <br/>The Vietnamese ice coffee is good thou

I hate to say but I have never tasted Pho that has been so bad. I had two mouthfuls and left the meal. The soup was salty and not flavoursome beef broth at all
Acollie
There are cheaper, tastier and more filling banh mi around compared to the ones at Roll'd (unless you like a heap of carrots). Their rice paper rolls aren't bad if you're looking for a quick lunch. But what happened to the soft shell crab rolls?
Em.N
The worst pho and banh mi I've ever had. I ordered beef pho to dine in. They gave it to me in a takeaway bowl. I decided to just eat it out of the plastic bowl as there were so many people waiting at the counter. I opened my food and my beef pho had no beef. The broth was extremely salty, not even Hoi sin sauce could fix it. Noodles were all broken and soggy. My banh mi was also disappointing. Portion was tiny and there was no coriander! My "crispy" pork was no where near crispy and tasted like chicken. The bread was soft and not toasted at all, not how a banh mi should be. I found no positives at all.. except maybe the decor and friendly staff but that isn't enough to make me come back!

Cute little restaurant settings. Don't have to wait too long for the food to be ready and fast turnover on table seating a.<br/><br/>Not as good as mama tran but for convenience this place is not too bad.
MJ
Don't bother. The rolls look big but they're just full of rice noodles and only one piece of meat and three coriander leaves. Tasteless, boring and terrible value for money considering there are other options for rolls in the city that are jam-packed with fresh ingredients and a whole lot more tasty. Roll'd needs to sort out their game if they want to compete.
Jellyphine
Pretty busy for a weekday lunch crowd. Ordered 2 roll soldiers to take away (soft shell crab & the prawn and pork). Loved the mini sauce packets that you get with each roll for variety and surprisingly it was good enough for each roll. Rolls weren't exceptionally tasty but were decent - not memorable but good enough for a quick lunch.
Eight Seconds Of Food
Have been to Roll'd twice now. <br/>The shop itself is done up nicely and the service is good. But food wise, the banh mi was just ok as the roll they use wasn't the nice crusty vietnamese style baguette. There are better choices for banh mi in the CBD like City Provisions or Le Vietnam. The beef pho tasted a bit plain and the noodles were a bit overcooked.<br/><br/>The only highlight are their fresh spring rolls which they have an extensive menu for (largest fresh spring roll menu I've seen in perth).
Conrad Broad
Stingy meat portion in rice paper rolls. Meat overcooked in pho. Unhappy on all of the meat fronts. I'll be sticking to mama trans or fresh provisions
Morsels
Roll'd is a great place for a quick bite, as long as you get there early - it gets pretty busy and the queues can be long. I tried the rice & noodle bowls, and much preferred the rice as I wasn't expecting the noodles to be cold. Banh mi is better across the road at City Provisions. Be very clear when you order, my workmate received the wrong order twice, and it seemed like I knew the menu better than the assistant on one occasion. Love the crispy chicken ribs & spring rolls!
We Are Noodle Folk
Popped into Roll'd Cloisters Square store for quick banh mi - thought I would try the pork and crackling flavour for an extra $1 and see what all the fuss is about. Well I took it back after a bite and peek inside to find one miniature confetti sized piece of crackling. I asked about it at the counter and the assistant said 'we only give you a tiny bit'. For $9.50 I thought it was a bit stingy and not worth the extra $1. The bbq chicken filling is better and cheaper. Disappointed so may not be a long term customer after all.

This is a great little place to grab a bite to eat during lunchtime. I have tried the pho and the beef noodles and for 11.90 it was pretty good. My only criticism about the pho was that there weren't any mint leaves. The stock is nice, though like another reviewer I would have liked it a bit spicier.
El
Really lovely staff, tried to help me decide what to have. The pork belly banh mi was so different to any banh mi I've had before, I think it's great! The pork was fantastically crispy and fresh and the bread was crunchy. And the sweet potato chips... Not sure what the secret is but yummmm!<br/>And all ready so quickly even with the crazy lunch time rush. I really this place! Will be back to try the rolls definitely.
Foodie R.
Spotted someone left more than half a bowl of Pho on the table while I was queuing up to order. Why these people wasted their food!! I am a Pho lover, I tried many Pho from different Vietnamese restaurant. But the Pho here was the worst I had ever tasted. The soup base is not hot enough, so that the noodles was like stick together, feels like eating instant noodles. I am sure they didn’t cook the noodles in boiling water before serve.  Soup is too salty and can taste the MSG as I felt super thirsty after that. This is not a bowl of Pho should taste like. The paper roll is very disappointing too, part of the skin is thick and dry, it’s very hard to chew, the Hoisin sauce tastes very sour and weird.  <br/>What I only love about this place is their shop fitout design, I may go back to try other dishes but definitely not Pho & paper roll anymore.
Lyv To Eat
...we had time to kill and the queue at Roll'd has considerably shortened, so we jumped in the queue and got our FREE rice paper rolls! I requested two soft shell crab rice paper rolls. It was superb. It was fresh, tasty and generous amount of filling. The hoisin sauce was also great on top of the rolls.
