This restaurant is very special and the places are top notch. We've tried the degustation menu and we were delighted. The drinks were perfectly done. The only problem was the service, not very attentive for this kind of venue.
Very good food, the 10 courses degustation is truly tasty, not just well presented, and it changes during the year. The ingredients are fresh and the dishes are full of flavour. When I was there few courses included native herbs/plants, which I found unusual and interesting. The ambient is not amazing, I would add some table cloths and would update the interior, to match the quality of the food and to complete the whole experience.
Beautiful food and friendly service. We had the 10 course degustation. The best dishes came later in the evening (duck, followed by smoked pork). The licorice dessert was as delicious as it was unique. The only reason for giving a 4/5 was due to the somewhat lengthy delays between dishes toward the end (just over 3 hours we spent there all up). Not really a big deal and definitely not a reason to miss out on visiting and re-visiting this little gem! My dinner partner was happy about the time between dishes as it gave a chance to rest and digest.
We went to co-op dining in East Perth on a Groupon voucher. I purchased the 3-course meal for 2 people, we went in a group of 3.
We order the Charcuterie platter to share between the 3 of us, the waitress informed us that the Charcuterie meat and gherkin were all made in-house. The taste was really good!
We ordered the Rottnest Scallops, Berkshire Sopressa, green mango which was very good and Dry-aged Mutton Tartare, beetroot, tangelo, wild garlic tasted amazing.
Then we ordered the mains Berkshire Pork, pickled lettuce, pumpkin, rye, unfortunately, my thoughts on this dish are it's a bit too bland, the pork and the pickled lettuce doesn't go well with it.
My girlfriend ordered the chicken breast main dish which we didn't think much if it either, the chicken breast was overcooked and pretty tasteless. The chicken breast dish came with the pickled lettuce as well.
We ordered the 2 desserts were listed on the menu, Carrot, buttermilk, star anise, the dish is like a pannacotta texture. I like it but my girlfriends are iffy about it.
The other dessert is Seasonal crumble, yoghurt sorbet, it felt like a breakfast dish for me.
My overall experience I love the sharing plate and the first dish, mains and desserts were average.
My husband and I went here for his birthday and had a delicious express tasting menu. The food was creative, and the staff were attentive and friendly. I would definitely recommend!
One of my favourite degustation restaurants in Perth! Loved the flavours of every dish! Great place for a date night! Good food and great service!

Occasion: Not that we needed one for a degustation, however it was my partners 30th birthday.
Food: We have eaten at various degustations across Australia. I like to think we have a pretty good idea what makes a degustation amazing, 5/5 and highly recommendable (I am not claiming we are experts I am high lighting the point that I can compare among degustation places). We opted for the 10 course degustation menu. The birthday boy got matched wines with the meal and I was DD. So here does (NOTE: the meal was a few nights ago, and I can not remember the names of each dish off the top of my head):
Homemade rye bread with yeast infused butter
Snacks: Veal tongue and pork crackling
Dishes: Summer garden
Marron and peach
Pork belly? and charred leek with dessert jam
Roasted potatoe and onion with blue cheese and milk and watercress
Lamb Mutton with plum
Ginger Kombucha
Strawberry and Vanilla sorbet? with liquorice and almond topping
+dessert with a milk pour
Firstly the food was fresh and well cooked in all dishes. The summer garden was the highlight/standout dish as it was tasty, different and made sense to the theme of co-op dining. The Lamb mutton was not my favourite, but because it was different, tasted different and well presented
definitely needs an honourable mention. The other dishes were not "wow" and did not make me feel like I wanted more. The potato and onion dish was tasty, a new addition that night and they wanted feedback on it. I told them I felt like it was a dish I could make at home. Roasted potatoes and onions with a sauce is not something that belongs in a degustation, it brought the overall rating down a notch for us. It didn't have much technique (potatoes and onions were cut in half and mildly seasoned) and the waiter poured the sauce on for us and took it away. My partner could not taste any blue cheese in his sauce and he felt if he could have had more sauce maybe the dish could have been better.
The other dishes were slightly above average, at best.
Service: Excellent. We did not get the names of the waitress and waiter that night, but they were both informative, friendly and attentive. There were 7 tables going this night (mostly couples and one bigger group). And I felt they managed the flow well. Sometimes longer waits between wine pouring and food service, especially when the larger group arrived, however they did well at maintaining high level of professionalism and warmth when presenting the wines and food.
Ambience: I feel like there is something missing. The space is still not quite right here. It feels like the intimacy is lost. We were seated in the back corner in a U-shaped booth and this was not comfortable. It was awkward to get into (in a dress) and sit close to my partner and have my head and neck at a slant all night to chat to him, I think they can do much better in terms intimate seating/ get rid of the booths?
Wine pairing: Notable mention. My partner is in the wine industry and he commented that the wines were complimentary and went well with the dishes. I tried a few and the wines were spot on to the meal. Made me want to have more of the wines. Well balanced, smooth and complimentary to all dishes.
Overall: 3.5/5. Definitely has room for improvement. I think with improvements on making the dishes more different and thinking outside the box a bit more, simple relying on organic, freshly sourced produce is not enough for a degustation @ $110pp. Making the dishes something that people can't cook at home is the path to take. I do like that they offer a 5 course option, which gives restaurant goers a good option. Would I recommend this place to my family and friends? Maybe. There are a few other places I would recommend above it.
Having a few vegetarian friends, when we found out that Co-Op Dining did a vegetarian degustation, we had to book it in. Deliciously cooked fresh organic vegetables. My favourites were the roasted cauliflower with miso glaze drizzled with macadamia nut milk, the asparagus and slow cooked egg yolk, and the yoghurt pear ice cream with ginger and chocolate soil. They also had complimentary rye sour dough bread with whipped butter. The whipped butter tasted like it had a hint of vegemite (it wasn't), and it was delicious. The dishes matched well with a glass or a few of pinot. Definitely coming back to try their regular degust!
Celebrated my birthday last month at Co-Op Dining. Food was delicious, substantial portion, reasonable price tag, and good service. . Rye bread with house churned mushroom infused butter. Blue swimmer crab and smoked creme fraiche. . Manjimup rainbow trout. Hen's yolk with puffed buckwheat.
Was looking for a nice quiet degustation to try (besides Amuse) and booked in for a birthday dinner at Co-Op. The setting was very nice and surprisingly very private with the different seating locations. Chef cooked up an array of different dishes that tantalized the taste buds, the opening plate with the pate was fantastic, my favourite of the night though was the tomato based soup, that was such a tease, I could have eaten a bucket worth of it! Can't say I was a fan of the kangaroo dish but thats just my taste buds not the chefs ability. Staff were great and managed to put the old "Happy Birthday" writing on the dessert plate, very happy. Again its kind of hidden in the back streets of East Perth so be sure to check google maps
Had the 10 course degustation menu on a busy Saturday night, service was excellent in particular Eric the someli was great. Lots of local fresh products used in all the dishes and 9 out of ten were all amazing the other was just not to my taste though.
Decor and a atmosphere were great only downside is the restaurant shares a hotel lobby toilet which is a bit dated, other than that hard to fault this place.
I was such a huge fan of Friends, we had some amazing weekend lunches there in a great surrounding. We have eaten at Co-Op numerous times, most recently for a Vegan Degustation. The food is well prepared and super tasty. First world problem is the dego is massive.
Some friends and I dined at the Coop for their 5 course vegetarian degustation on a Tuesday night. We were given water and the wine menu which is a fairly large book. We asked for assistance from the knowledgeable sommelier and he made a long list of recommendations. We ordered a bottle of the Villa Wolf Pinot Noir from Pfalz, Germany. It was very good drop of wine and fairly reasonably priced.
The menu was explained to us, and we did not receive a written menu, this would have been helpful as we noticed that wait staff were going through the dishes with slight changes in the ingredients during the evening. The bread arrived with no butter. It sounded good, but it was inedible; dense, dry and in need of some salt. We discovered a small dipping bowl of oil which had a little bit of salt; so the first bite was ok. But I did not eat anymore and sent it back to the kitchen. Inspecting other tables, no one else ate much of their bread either. It was a very disappointing start to the evening, and I was concerned. Note to kitchen please do not send out any bread if it is that dry and unsalted.
The first course was the carrots with some spiced soil, and it was good; I was relieved. But it was the second and fourth courses, the cauliflower and the leek, that were exceptional and stand out dishes for the evening. We would have dearly wanted more of these. The final course, the strawberry sorbet with beetroot ganache, rhubarb jelly and almond crumbs was also very enjoyable. Our waitress, however, did muddle the ingredients on this dish and told us we had rhubarb ganache.
We did enjoy the flavours and pairings of the dishes, but we all felt the portions were extremely small as evident in the photos. For a nine course degustation menu it would not have been an issue, but for five courses with bread that could not be eaten, portions should have been increased accordingly. We all left feeling still hungry, but happy to have tried a vegetarian degustation. Staff were friendly and service was certainly attentive. I am unlikely to go back given the issues outlined.
Such an amazing experience, the food was full of amazing flavours and the service was excellent! Only downside was feeling way too full after 10 courses plus wine.
Co-op showcases organic and fresh food and they certainly do this well - we had the 10 course option ($125) plus matched wines ($75) and it was a lovely night.
The staff were friendly and there was no pretention, the music set the mood and the layout of the room meant we were able to have a proper conversation without hearing when next door needed to go to the toilet.
The standouts for me (as always) were the pre-dessert (homemade yoghurt with raspberry purée and fruit gel) and dessert (apple pie - apple mousse, apple, crumble with brown butter icecream). As well as the slow cooked egg with buckwheat and the kangaroo with eggplant purée. Yum.
Co-op lost a point for me as I didn't like a couple of the courses - they do ask you if you don't eat anything at the beginning of the night - but these just didn't hit the mark for me unfortunately. It was a pleasant night and I would recommend adding the wines if you can, they really do add to the experience.
The concept here is sustainable, in season, local produce combined with degustation. It was spot on. The order of the courses works, the food was superb with well thought flavours and flawless presentation. The service was great. The atmosphere is a little damp, seems very open but there are 2 booths big enough for a group. A more expensive than usual dining experience but worth every penny.
Anyway! As you may have noticed, food, cooking and baking are my favourite pastimes. Naturally, I just love experimenting and challenging myself in the kitchen. A degustation meal has always been a foodie aim of mine. I find it so interesting to see how the chefs pair different flavours, techniques and textures together, especially if I admire their cooking ethos.
Sensational dining experience! We had the 10 course degustation which was delicious, interesting and beautifully presented. The chef came out and explained the first 4 courses himself. Amazing organic ingredients, including some unusual native herbs and plants. Well worth it.
Absolutely amazing. Great degustation experience at one of the best restaurants in Perth. Thanks, Chef for the amazing food and sharing your knowledge. The restaurant is small and cozy, especially as we were seated on the plush couches, which made for a very nice atmosphere for a night of great chats and food with my best friends. Highly recommend this place, and certainly will revisit one day.
Place was nice. Service is great. Came for a fancy double date night. Food serving size was tiny but it was interesting. Certainly not your usual food that can be found anywhere. But they were delicious. Lots of "oh didn't know this thing taste good" and "oh that's better than expected" moment. They are the epitome of don't judge the food by its looks :) photos abit dark since It's a quite dark like the usual romantic fine dining place but have good ambience.
Chef Kiren Mainwaring is all about sustainable food and sourcing his food locally. He gave a very passionate talk about that at the Eat Drink Blog conference in 2013. Id heard many great things about the fine diner that he runs with his wife Kellie, in East Perth. Chef and I have wanted to go for quite some time and so he surprised me with a visit for our wedding anniversary recently.
I'm not big on writing reviews and generally only do so for the highs and lows of my dining experience. I'd have to say that our recent 10 course degustation diner at Co-Op Dining was one of the nicest meals my wife and have had in a long time.
In general I'm a bit over high end degustation menus, as they often tend to be a self-indulgent demonstration of the chefs latest skills and techniques, changing direction from course to course. I find that, for my tastes, I'm often left I unsatisfied despite the obvious skill involved in building small dish wonders. Whilst the menu at Co-Op Dining has all the skill and great produce of other top restaurants, the 10 course dego menu seemed to be a lot more cohesive, focused on the diners journey and experience without the chef trying to show off. Far more enjoyable than a similar meal at Print Hall a couple of months ago (not that Print Hall is bad, it's very good - but this is better for me).
Absolutely loved Co-Op Dining!!! Took my wife her for her birthday and we had the 10 course degustation. My wife was 24 weeks pregnant which meant the chefs had to make 5 separate dishes. All of them were amazing as well as the very friendly and attentive staff. Highly recommend and hope to be back soon.

I’ve had quite a few degustations in my gastronomic travels, and most of them have been excellent, but there’s excellent and then there’s memorable. And in the truly memorable category, there’s only a small number – and this is one of those. Up there with Brae, Momofuku Seiobo, Orana and Oscillate Wildly, the degustation at Co-Op Dining really floated my boat! Here you can choose from the ten course signature menu for $125 or five courses for $99. This was the last Top 100 restaurant from the 2015 list that I was dining at for the year and I thought ten courses was the most fitting way to finish!
everything was superb from the minute we walked in and they took our coats. felt it was a really classy restaurant. food was delicious - I am fussy - no seafood, no red meat and I was easily accommodated. wait staff attentive - drinks filled quickly. its a must. will definitely be back. thanks guys for a great evening
10/10 for service. The first few courses were absolutely tiny so we were worried the rest would be just a little too small also, but they were better size wise. Fantastic taste wise! Great food philosophy!
Briliant. Went for my hubby's birthday on Tuesday - want can I say? Everything was just perfect, from the comfy seats to the way the staff explained every dish in detail. Attentive service, beautiful presentation on the dishes, it was really an experience. I'm getting into this whole degustation thing, and I think there should be more places like that. Our first time there and not the last!
Truly Awesome. Its hard to decide where to start with how impressed we were with this restaurant. The service was second to none from the time we booked, to the prompt reply to the message we sent the day after the meal requesting the wine pairing list they used. The staff was amazing. The venue itself is beautifully, low lite with classy dark decor, it brings a romance to the experience. We enjoyed the 5 course degustation with paired wines and took the cheese plate option. The food was wonderfully creative although very different. Be prepared to experience with an open mind and you will really enjoy the flavors and textures of some truly inspiring foods. The prices are not cheap but the experience is something that left us all wondering who we can bring next time to share it with. Very well done.
What a lovely experience we had tonight! The food was exceptional! The wine paired with it was amazing! We could not fault the service! The wait staff were so attentive and finer details like folding napkins when we went to the restroom, the chef introducing himself, the complimentary chocolates at the end of the evening and serving the ladies wine first did not go unnoticed. The enthusiasm our host used when explaining the wines was fantastic. It's quickly become my favourite dining experience in perth. Thank you again, I will be back and won't hesitate to recommend!
A magical experience!. Last night was the first time the four of us dined at Co-Op Dining, and what a sensual feast it proved to be! For me, it set the 'gold standard' for fine dining in Perth. The food was superbly presented and the juxtaposition of flavours an absolute delight. The chef was very accommodating where one diner had an aversion to seafood, and personally introduced each dish. The waiter was attentive, yet unobtrusive, accentuating the dining experience with his knowledge of wines. I fear now that dining out anywhere else in Perth may prove to be a disappointment. Thoroughly recommended!
Crafted and thoughtful food that delivered so much flavour. The meal was a delight, the desert, and I do not usually trouble the sweets trolley, a wonderfully complex surprising and delicious dish. Service was superb, the wines all well selected. This restaurant showcased the idea of local produce, food and wine (not sure about the Gruner Vetliner though, nice enough but stood out like a sore thumb). Looking forward to the ten courses next time.
Casual class. My partner and I decided to visit Co-Op Dining on the strength of the reviews on Urbanspoon. Given that we'd arrived in Perth only a few hours earlier, we decided to try the five course menu. We liked the food philosophy behind the restaurant and the produce was handled very well. We also very much liked the description of the dishes that was only provided by our attentive waiter as each dish was delivered, rather than struggling to remember the description on a menu.
A wonderful meal in an understated restaurant in a lovely city.
Had a wonderful meal on Friday night with my partner - his first degustation. The food was awesome and the service delightful. We had the 5 course degustation (with a cheeky cheese course added in) matched with wines. Highly recommended.
Exquisite. Went there with hubby to celebrate our special day with their 10-course mystery menu. Left very impressed with the foods and could feel the chef's every touch of details and effort. The outstanding dishes of the night would have to be the 12-hr cooked egg with parsnip soup and fish floss, braised leek with hollandaise sauce and garlic chips, and the kangaroo steak & braised kangaroo tail meat with macadamia puree (main). The dishes were impeccable with complex taste and texture. Super friendly staffs and happy to return!
As impressive as the first time. I came to Co-Op Dining a year ago, with my partner and some friends. We liked it then, and we decided to come back with the same people, this time trying the full 10-course tasting menu. The dishes are as good (if not better) as the first time, with the flavours really standing out. The only one that didn't win everyone's heart was the dessert (my partner is not a fan of liquorice) but I thought it was brilliant - vegetables for dessert, wow!
We decided against the paired wines as we didn't want the drivers to be left out, but given the enthusiasm of the maitre d' when describing the few wines by the glass we chose, we probably will next time - the staff was really into it, you can really feel the passion when they're describing the dishes and the wines.
One of the best places I've been to in Australia (and I travel to Sydney and Melbourne regularly). We will definitely be back.
-----23 Oct, 2014-----
Excellent dinner. My partner and I had an excellent dinner at Co Op Dining on Saturday. We were looking for a degustation restaurant, and the options are becoming thin in Perth - this one is up there with the best of them (had dinner at Amuse and Jacksons before).
Attentive staff, very interesting wine pairing (with a couple out-of-the-box choices, I found them perfect but my partner let me finish her beer), superb dishes.
Apparently the menu changes very often, so we'll be back soon.
Exceedingly Enjoyable. We have now been to this restaurant a couple of times, and plan to return many more with the change of ingredients.
Staff are very attentive - They remember certain foods we requested we cannot eat and our waiter even remembered our drinks order from last time we came. All staff, including the chef are extremely friendly and pleasure to meet.
The food - In one word, I would say amazing. We have been to a lot of the restaurants in Perth, and even quite a few around the world, and this still comes as one of my favourites.
Went last night and had the 10 course degustation menu. Absolutely delicious, loved every course, inventive, clever and most important tasty food combinations all beautifully presented. Thank you for a lovely evening.
One of Perth's Best. I have been here several times, and have always enjoyed the food and matched wine. The Co-Op philosophy is admirable too.
Highly recommended for foodies.
The best vegetarian degustation in Perth. Co-op Dining's 5-course experimental vegetarian degustation is hands down the best fine dining vegetarian experience I've had. I'm not a vegetarian myself but both my parents are and I wanted them to experience something different to the usual average vegetarian food you find at places like Utopia. They were both blown away with the dishes, as were my two brothers who just came back from some terrible degustations in Melbourne. The creativity & flavor combinations were excellent, nothing frustrates me more than a unadventurous degustation! The chef show cased some serious skill with his menu tonight & has restored my faith in vegetarian fine dining.
Fantastic experience. Recently had the Riesling Rocks dinner at Co-op Dining and it truly erm... rocked!
From the mushroom butter and homemade sour dough (the latter would have been even better if it were served warm)... to the six different snacks, crab, rabbit liver parfait, barramundi (one of the best I've had in Perth in recent years) plus guest chef Pasi's signature Photato, carrot liquorice, pop corn floss and other desserts and cheese course...each dish was a taste sensation!
This was definitely a wonderful dego experience that had our tastebuds tantalised and tummies satisfied!
My wife and I had a fabulous meal here. 5 courses plus an extra home made cheese course with accompanying wines. Food was excellent and sufficient. Anyone who wants more should check their BMI. Wines were delicious and generously poured. Some dishes delighted like the salt seared marron. No dish disappointed. This was excellent value for money with first class and friendly service. Everyone should go to see what coop dining is about.
Just wonderful, food and wine excellent.

Loved it. Love the concept (organic, local or sustainable) and loved the food (original, new flavours, great presentation but not over the top). Wendy and Eric were fantastic hosts - informative, attentive without being intrusive. They do a fantastic job out front as do the kitchen staff out back. If you want the joys of degustation without the pretentiousness then this is the place for you.
Perfection. The food, drinks, atmosphere (despite being not busy) and service here are simply stunning.
The degustation is excellent value at $120 for 10 courses. The dishes are creative and really show off the top quality ingredients. In a way it reminded me of a restaurant in San Sebastian called Asador Etxebarri (1 Michelin Star, 44 in San Pelligrino top 100 restaurants in the world) where the focus is on the quality of the local produce. Some standout menu items were marron 'sashimi', house-made rabbit chorizo, a swordfish 'noodle', the juicy field mushrooms, a spicy hoggett marguez, the best piece of wagu I have ever eaten, and a buckwheat icecream (sounds odd it is surprisingly delicious).
My husband had the matched wines, and while there were only 7 wines for the 10 courses, the pours were quite generous and the selections were perfectly matched and always interesting.
Having been to a degustation at Amuse 3 times, most recently a fortnight ago, I think Co-op Dining is a very close competitor to Perth's highest rated restaurant. The two restaurants have their differences, with Co-op focusing on the produce, and Amuse being more creative and technical. Another massive difference is the waitlist for a weekend booking at Amuse, while around the corner at Co-op we were one of two tables on a Friday night. By all means, book two months ahead for Amuse, pine over the loss of Jackson's dego menu, but please do yourself (and Co-op) a favour and book at Co-op this weekend, you won't regret it.
First Class - Experience it for yourself!. First off - Don't believe the bad reviews on here, they simply aren't true.
Dining date - 10/10/13 - 10 Course Degustation with paired wine
Knowledgeable, attentive, professional service. The food was exceptional - reserved, interesting and well thought out. We didn't encounter any pretension whatsoever, only people that really care about their food, and are very proud of what they're doing.
Please please please don't be put off by some of the average reviews here, simply go and try it yourself. I'm sure you won't be disappointed.
Full Credit where Credit is due. Friends told me you have to go to Co-op dining in Perth so we took their advice and boy were they right! I am new to this review a restaurant online and not sure if I am all together happy with it. I also looked over some of the other reviews on co-op and some of the other restaurants we have been to in Perth. I have come to the opinion for what it is worth that some people may have some real issues, it seems that cyber bulling is alive and well in Perth and restaurants seem to be an easy target. Anyways, if anyone looks at these reviews at co-op dining and I really hope you don't, this is my credit where credit is due as a human being. On the night we opted for the 10 course menu with matched beverages like in all Michelin and top restaurants in the world the dishes and matching beverages are explained to you as part of the experience otherwise you go to a casual style restaurant and make your own choice ,this element of co-ops experience was faultless, from the chef that brought out our first course to the sommelier that was pouring our beverages, all seemed to be well trained and showed a real passion for what they were contributing to our experience, so thank you. Now to the food its self, to put it in plain terms it was unique, fresh ,artfully presented and all dishes were fantastically balanced. There is intelligence in this food and that needs to be said, so chef take a bow and thank you again. This in my opinion again for what it's worth is a sensational degustation experience and again i thank the professionals at co-op dining for a exceptional job and wish you all the best.
Get the 10 course if you're hungry. Top-notch food and ingredients, but it comes at a price. I think that the degustation with matching wine is probably $50 too expensive for what you get, mostly because of the price of the alcohol. Really, should I be paying close to $15 for half a bottle of local-beer?
We only got the 5 course meal, and while delicious, I was still seriously hungry when I got home and needed to make myself some toast!
Wow! We thoroughly enjoyed the 10 course vegetarian degustation with wine pairing. Chestnut soup with parsnip chips was our favourite course
We only heard about Co-Op after reading Rob Broadfield's 17/20 review. The score is spot on.
After checking your dietry needs the food starts arriving and the beauty is you don't know what you're getting until it's in front of you. This really adds to the enjoyment of the experience. We had the 10 course dego with matching wines. Each course was beautiful with unheard of wines from Oz and abroad. It's a real treat being introduced to wines you're not familiar with. Especially the Vinterloper Adelo and Castelli Tempranillo which arw both perfect for the recent chilly nights.
World Class Food!!. My husband and I dined at Co-Op on Saturday night and had such a lovely degustation meal. We dine out a lot in Perth and overseas, and would consider this to be in our top 5 dining experiences. The whole experience is so well thought out, not just for the flavour enjoyment but also for health benefits and food sustainability. We both loved the Herring dish with finger limes, but my ultimate favourite course of the night was the home made morcilla (spanish blood sausage) with quince and dijon, it was wonderfully balanced and just delicious!
Being a Saturday night, the dining room was full however the staff were never flustered and spent time explaining the components of each dish and where the produce was farmed, the wine matches were something else, and it was great to see some beautiful local wines, paired with the dishes. We opted for the cheese course, so in total we had 11 courses, and spent 5 hours dining!
A long dinner indeed but such a lovely experience, I'm glad we went for the 10 course option, there is a 5 course option for $95 but for the extra $25 per person, It it well worth it!!
YUM YUM YUM. Went here with a group of 4 lastnight for dinner and was absolutely blown away with the quality of food and the exceptional service, do yourself a favour and treat yourself to a night here.
The food was excellent we went for the 10 course Dego option and each dish was excellent. Standouts for me were the the beef brisket and the chestnut soup. One of the people in our party was a Vegetarian so points to Co-op for even having a vegetarian Dego option which i was told was absolutely delicious. The matched wine that they chose added an extra element to the food as the options were very unique and wines from all over the world that i had never heard of before which was fun to try something new. All over the food is worth every penny and every creation was thoroughly thought out.
The wait staff offered exceptional service and nothing was too much trouble, from the moment we walked in we were looked after from making us cocktails that they didn't have on their menu's to answering every question we had about the food.
Thoroughly enjoyed myself!
Wonderful food & wine. We went on a Saturday night and the place was full (only one two-seater table free in the whole place). We were lucky enough to get one of the only two booth seats at the back of the restaurant, which added to our enjoyment.
We had the 10 course degustation menu with the matched wines. The food was lovely but I can't recall a stand out dish. The sommelier was very knowledgeable and, when we displayed a deeper interest in the wines, happy to tell us more - this really added to our night.
It wasn't a cheap night >$400 for two with one glass of champagne to start, but for a treat, I would recommend it.
I did visit the bathroom which is outside the restaurant and down a long corridor. On the plus side it was easy to get street parking as the restaurant is tucked away in a quiet East Perth street.
Loved the experience and how proud the staff seemed when annoucing the background of the different dishes. Loved most of the dishes, although some were more tasty than others. Like most good things, wished that I could have more of the food.
If you're looking for simple, great quality ingredients that have been put together in exquisite ways, then Co-Op Dining is for you. This is not your typical fine dining restaurant, it is relaxed, experimental dining with a highly talented chef and great wine list. We dined on a Saturday, and saw the three staff members spend all evening in constant action with a full restaurant, yet had the time on each setting down and clearing of courses to explain the dishes and check in with us at every stage. Good service did not begin to explain the effort we saw from them. On leaving, the manager explained that they had had a staff member quit prior to service, the two others were quite new, and that it was the busiest night they had had. When we told her we hadn't noticed she seemed genuinely happy to hear we had a great evening. Each dish we had that night was perfectly combined and the wine paired was spot-on. It started with fresh, simple starters, and ended with chocolatey goodness. A genuine pleasure to have dined there.
Went in a group of four, all with dietary requirements. The kitchen not only catered to every requirement perfectly, they actually made us a coconut flour free and gluten free bread on the spot after we realised we forgot to mention the coconut allergy.
Really lovely service all around, it's hard to dine with dietary requirements but co-op kitchen and floor staff made us feel normal and gave us a delicious meal to boot.
Best vegan dish I have ever had! Staff was very very friendly and patiently introduced each dish being served
10 course degustation was really good, quality locally sourced ingredients, and interesting flavour combinations with lots of fruit and veggies (which is great) but it did lack that feeling of richness and decadence that you would typically get from a high-end degustation restaurant. I walked out feeling like I had a diverse tasty and healthy eating experience (but when it comes to degustations I want to walk out feeling like I really indulged!) The staff were friendly, knowledgeable, professional, and incredibly accomodating! Definitely a place to check out if you like to try something different!
