Awesome food, fast, efficient service. Great place to go if you have a big crowd. Food was reasonably priced and there was plenty of it. Will definitely be back.
Regular Chinese restaurants in the Northbridge’s old Chinese restaurant alley. Foods are okay with common menu like Oyster sauce veggies, fried rice, sizzling beef, tofu - no complaint here. We like that it opens till late. The place gave you feeling of eating in the Chinatown. Fun when you go with friends on weekend night
Best Chinese in town. Full stop.
Great friendly service. Food is epic and authentic. Chili Pepper Chicken is amazing. One of many to try though.

My go to when out late in the city. Food is always amazing and so well priced. Nothing fancy but clean. Food always comes out fast and is fresh and very tasty.
Cant recommend more
A family owned restaurant that’s been standing for decades. One of the most amazing comfort Chinese cuisines in Perth. Quick service and decent casual ambience. Excellent taste and considering its in a casual area hygiene is very much taken care of. Really really much recommended.
I went here last night with a group of 12 and had a great experience overall. We booked a table and had an email to show we had however, it didn’t go through on their end! A little chaos ensued as the staff quickly pulled everything together to set us up outside during such a busy hour on a Saturday night! Very grateful! A few of us had BYO w/ a $6 corkage fee which was well worth it. I personally had the deluxe vegetable claypot and the broth was beautiful! Prices were generally under $15 from the 400+ items on their menu. I didn’t give it 5 stars just for the needed improvements in cleanliness, more so the amenities. But the food, service, pricing and location are spot on for dinner for a big group or before a night out so that is 5 stars!
It's Late Night! U R in the City & you need multiple options for dinner post 930pm!!
Well this where you land up! :)
Thankfully I was with frens who already recomended this place both for food & it's cleanliness.
The best is when the mgmt greeets you with a warm smile & happily guides you through the place, with an exact seating option. Advising on what is not too spicy is an added charm.
The staff was very fast to come pick up our order n also explain the dishes partially.
The MENU is literally a PAUSE!!! There are so many items that you get lost..LOST. I am a seafood fan,but here they have subsection dedicated for the same.
The variety & options were mind boggling!! So after scanning the menu..negating the items that we have typically, we ordered the following
Pokchoy sauteed Veggies
Braised beef in garlic sauce
Duck roast with vegetables
Chilli Squid roasted
Pork dumplings
Plain rice
Wheat tea as accompimmets
Each of the items were melt in you mouth n tasty!!
The duck was simply divine with multitude of veggies & mushroom & the duck morsels just rightly tossed n cooked.
The braised meat was well done, with crispy onions to make it more juicer. The Suid was fresh n can't stop at one!
The pork dumplings though quite nice, would have been better if they were slightly more juicer.
All in all an excellent space for #dinner
Kip up the good work!

Spare ribs & Japanese sizzling tofu are my favorite. But they do cook lots of GOOD FOOD. I really love their food. But there’s one thing that needs to be improved: their service. they always took so long to come and take our orders and bring the food to us. I know that they seem slow because their restaurant is always busy. but maybe it’s time for them to add more staffs?? :)
I only got takeaway but the food was excellent. The Szechuan beef was full of flavour and spice while the meat was tender and lean. The lemon chicken was also delicious - will definitely be back.
Love that this place is open late night and the food is always good. We’ve come here many a time when everything else is closing up. Try the chilli salt and pepper squid.
Their fried rice with chilli oil was very good. Their chicken Szechuan was so amazing, fried cakwe was excellent and also their broccoli garlic was pretty decent.
My go to place if my family have any rice porridge cravings. Love the three egg porridge with a side of char kueh and also fried intestine. Service is fast and efficient and the place still looks the same like it was since my high school days.
Extensive menu with good food. Not everything is fantastic, but you can definitely get some really good standout dishes. Highly recommend their Golden Squid (salted egg yolk squid) and Salt & Pepper Spare Ribs. A few other good dishes for us- Sambal Kang Kung, Roast Duck with Taro Claypot, 'Xiao Chao Huang' (Stir-fry prawn, squid & garlic shoots), Salt & Pepper Squid Tentacles. Great place for a late night supper too- porridge or E-fu noodles with a few fried 'mantou' are pretty satisfying. Not keen of their 'dimsum' or steam minced pork dishes. Place can get quite loud and rowdy on a late Friday/Saturday night, so if you're planning for a nice, quiet night out with the family, probably not the best place to be on these two nights. Service is prompt and prices are reasonable. They're open to requests for changes to dishes and will try to accomodate your preferences.
I ordered Dim Sum, Sweet and sour fish, Deep fried squid and last but not least Peking Duck. My fav dish goes to Peking Duck. The meat very juicy and the skin is vey crispy. Good combination! Definitely will visit this place again! Highly recommend this place! Worth every penny!

I swear this place never shuts. It's so nice to have a place to eat that isn't a kebab shop or maccas after a night out. Great food, great service and great times.
Always a great choice at any time of night when you want a quick and cheap meal before heading out. The food is really tasty and the menu is enormous. When I've gone with a large group, we usually leave with a bill of about $15 per head after an enormous meal
After a long night out this the place we go all the time. The best part is you get your food very quickly. Staff is not that friendly, but the food is good.
One of my favourite Chinese restaurants in Perth! Great value for money and delicious food. Love coming here with a group, open late on weekends. Perfect place for a hangover meal 😅

If I had a Chinese uncle, it would be Uncle Billy! Because he sure knows how to deliver!
We came in early so it was still kinda quiet. But I figured it was better that way if I wanted to talk to 9 other people across the round table on top of the increasing chatter in the background. So why do I still keep expecting ambient background music at Chinese restaurants?
I believe you can gauge how well a Chinese resto cooks their menu by trying out their salt & pepper squid first ('cos cooking seafood requires a bit more skill). Aquariums were part of their interior decor so we figured we'll get one whole steamed fish, freshly cooked for an additional fee. We ordered several more dishes enough to feed all of us. The prawn crackers came in and so the waiting game begins.
Which wasn't that long.
Food came in surprisingly quick, one after the other that one of us panicked as she thought we ordered too much food. She was wrong - we devoured it. I've never tasted Chinese food this good, that I'm even thinking of bringing my mother here. Tofu was silky smooth. The salt & pepper squid tubes and tentacles were oh so heavenly crispy and tender at the same time! The steamed fish got a verbal approval from my Indian friend and my Serbian friend were all smiles from all that fried delights! But let's be honest, satisfaction comes from value of money, so we were all more than happy to pay our part.
Final verdict: a must-go for everyone ('cos everyone loves Chinese food?). The staff, despite being not so fluent in English, were friendly and accomodating. I guess that's an indicator of authenticity? Chinese made up majority of my group and I'm sure they would have given this place 2 thumbs-up! Even my local parish priest, who is Chinese, would drive to this resto in the morning to satisfy his 2 A.M. noodle cravings.
I'll take photos next time when I'm not too engrossed with eating.
Had the eggplant with mince dish, the chicken liver & kidney dish and spicy squid. It was alright. Pretty fast service. Gives you a lot of rice! There was only 2 of us but enough to feed at least 5-6.
This place is packed every time we go here. The food and prices are pretty good. The proportion is also reasonable. We had a large group so we ordered quite a few dishes: fried rice, chicken, sweet and sour prawns, fried squid tentacles, tofu in sizzling hot plate and Szechuan beef. Despite the restaurant being quite busy the staff were able to provide us everything we asked for.
Came here when I had TOOTACHE and could only eat soft food like porridge. My friend Desse said this was one of the best place to get porridge in town. He ain’t lying. Uncle Billy sells plenty variety of porridge from chicken porridge, beef, pork, century egg, seafood, and all. Their porridge is tasty, cheap and BIG in portion too making it super worth-it. I ordered the chicken porridge with raw egg, so they put raw egg on top of the porridge adding additional taste and colour to the already tasty porridge.
If you are too unwell and not in the mood for any meat, they also sell plain porridge for only $2-$3 (and it ain’t small too!) with additional dough (yew tiao) for only $2.50.
Really recommend this place if you are looking for some porridge whether you are unwell or just craving for some warm tasty congee.
A Northbridge Institution. Not for the criminally insane though, more the criminally hammered. The food is perfect for after midnight and after about a dozen pints. Come for the Wontons, stay for the decor.
So if you find yourself in Northbridge, drunk, wanting some greasy food before you head home and, like me, exist solely for Asian cuisines, then look no further! Uncle Billy's is perfect for this. It's shabby decor that was probably purchased in the 70's just adds to the atmosphere. If you're looking for a medium to high quality restaurant, then you aren't drunk enough. Go back to the bar, order another drink (or three) then head back here. You will always end up ordering WAY too much, eating only half and stumbling out of the lane way to find an Uber/taxi.
Yum yum yum.. sizzling chicken, sizzling jap tofu, spare ribs marmite. These 3 very recommended.. eventhough the environment and cleanliness wasnt so good. But the taste was so good.
We ordered the food chilly pepper chicken, kangkung vegetable & sweet sour pork. They came quickly and tasted nice but the best is the chilly pepper chicken. They gave a complimentary watermelon which is a nice gesture. Will come again. The service could be more friendly.
The food is heavenly great and outstanding among the Chinese restaurants in Northbridge, especially the spicy salted fried chicken. We came at early dinner time so it wasn't that noisy and packed with people.
On the other hand, it would be much more cheaper if you come with your friends and share the bills.
Anything tastes good when you're drunk off your face lol, but the food is good and the lady owner is always nice to us! Noticed the photo of her and Stevie Wonder and I think it's pretty cool he came here a long time ago!
Quality! It Shouldnt Be That Hard! Love A Wonderful Mouth Full Of Wholesome FOOD!

This place I came to at like 11 pm. I was really in the mood for dumplings, I tried there prawn dumplings which where yummy, I then tried there Shanghai dumplings which I think are there pork dumplings which where mouth watering just not enough pork inside. I had to order two because they where so yummy they could have charged a lot more if they put more pork.... The staff here are so friendly in the end I ordered 3 Shanghai dumplings one of the waiters he had glasses came up with a big smile and said one more? I said no thank you I'll have one deep fried ice cream. It was such a good experience and the food was amazing!!! Can't wait to come back
My family turn up to Billy's regularly... Having sat with Billy many times in James st in the '80's I may have a bias but this restaurant delivers .... Eating within 5 minutes of ordering ... Squid tentacles, duck , Kai lan wotever ... If Billy's don't do it for u if b surprised..... Fantastic value !!!

Another good Chinese restaurant in Chinatown!
Affordable and tasty! Service is very fast too!
Plus, like any other Chinese restaurants in Chinatown, they open till extremely late!
Chilli pepper chicken at Uncle Billy's is on point! Couple it with the fried rice and some kailan and you're in heaven. Also affordably prices, so what's not to love.
Was just the right (and only) place to go after 9.30pm on Sat night since most kitchens were all closed in NB! Food is good and comes out quick once you get the waiter's attention. Come here next time you want some late night Chinese.
Their sizzle jap tofu never fail fo satisfy my cravings :) and oh the chilli pepper intestines and fried sticky rice are good too and pretty unique.. Dont worry too much about the ignorant waitress as the food is really worth it!
My favourite chinese in perth, don't be put off by the terrible staff or decor, the food truly is great. The staff basically ignore you or put things on the table with zero interaction with you, unless you become a regular then they warm up to you. The chilli pepper squid is mind boggling its so good, and the bbq porl buns are scrumptious, plus one of the 2 o 3 restaurants in perth who are open past 9pm every night!!
Perth's Chinatown in Northbridge may be rather small and quiet but for as long as I can remember, it is well known for a restaurant called Uncle Billy's.
It's one of those places that isn't well known for its extravagance or its culinary expertise, rather its popularity owes to the notion of reliability, consistency and availability (even in the wee hours of the early morning for late night revellers).
Many weekends we have come to Uncle Billy's to enjoy their range of food and the mandatory one to order are usually the golden eggplant (cooked in eggyolk), sizzling Japanese tofu and vinegar chicken.
The place can be quite noisy and hectic during weekends but food is usually delivered promptly. For larger groups there are tables located upstairs.
If you're out on the town and want some comforting Chinese food, Uncle Billy's will have you covered.
Good taste, fast and friendly service. We ordered the alive snow crab cooked with i fu noodle. Sooo good and fresh..........................
Today, we choose hot and sour soup, beef hotpot with golden mushrooms and dried ear fungus, and squid with snow peas and lotus root, accompanied by steamed rice. The hot and sour soup appears first, a bit darker than I expect, but full of flavour and thick with goodies such prawn, bamboo shoots, mushrooms and seaweed - an excellent starter with just the right amount of chilli pep. The beef hotpot is also excellent - a generous helping of very tender sliced beef in a flavourful sauce with just a hint of star anise, on a bed of fine vermicelli. The squid, stir fried with snow peas and slices of lotus root, baby corn, carrot and champignons, is also fine, but less of a flavour bomb. Rounded off with steamed rice it makes for an excellent meal for two. We would definitely go back again. It might not be ideal for an intimate evening romancing your true love, but for groups of friends looking for good, flavourful food, and plenty of it, Uncle Billy’s is highly recommended.
If you are an environmentalist concerned about killing sharks to make shark fin soup then skip this place. The food was good, cheap and the service attentive.

Me and my friends love to eat here during dinner also during supper ..😆 my favorite dishes are vinegar chicken , sizzling tofu, sweet and sour spare ribs, andd manyy more ! And for supper, i love to eat porridge with my friends during winter time! Love it
Good place to go to for Chinese-Cantonese food at night. Free rice refill, which is a bonus. :-)
Always Open. This place has saved me many times late night with friends after a good night in Northbridge. If you're in Northbridge a lot, you're basically a creature of the night so yeah... Anyways, one of my Singaporean friends introduced me to this place last stretch I did in Perth. Ordered the Peking Ribs with Mayonnaise, they were like nothing I've ever tried BEFORE! So addictive!
Food is good but i just don't go eat there anymore. I always go to Mrs MOK for dinner for years when they still run the City Garden over the otherside. Those were the best foods they produce back many years ago. But now I seldom dine there not because the food is not good. The food is tastes great but the portion has gone down but that is not a problem. Problem is everytime I eat there, I would suddenly wake up so thirsty in the middle of the morning and down a bottle of water and still I am thirsty. The MSG levels is very generous in their dishes.
I stop going there also because the have their staff pulling in customers while you walk to decide where to dine, One of their staff is very pushy and tell us to order more dishes that we cannot even finish. Fair enough the portion shrank but 3 dishes for 2 is ample and he still say we need 4 dishes. After that I never went back
Great food, ok customer service! Good do with a little bit more flavour in the fried rice dishes. Chilli Pepper squid is a favourite of mine!! Also the staff could be more presentable :)
A dear favourite. Can always rely on Uncle Billy's to deliver a delicious and affordable meal. Highly recommend Sung Far (vinegar) Chicken, Japanese Sizzling Tofu and Gai Lan with Oyster Sauce
Don't go changin', Uncle Billy's. A friend and I enjoy Uncle Billy's on a regular basis. We keep going back because the food is always fantastic and cheap. We always get the salt and pepper chilli squid (perfect every time), sizzling satay chicken and garlic kai lan. Every other dish we've tried is lovely. If we're not completely stuffed then we go hog wild and order the deep fried Mars Bar with ice cream. Whether you're looking for a cheap and cheerful regular Northbridge dining option or just need a late night place to soak up the booze, forget the kebabery and visit good Uncle Billy's.
Who needs a kebab Friday night when you have uncle Billy's to sober you up? Traditional Asian service with no smile and requests are met with poke faces so you're unsure if they understood until they're back with what you asked for. Super fast service and lightning quick food that is pretty damn good pretty much everytime I've been there.
Really good traditional Chinese. Everything we ordered was superb. Try the spicy pork belly and salty fish claypot. Great attentive service.
UNCLE BILLYS FOOD IS AWESOME> HATERS GONNA HATE. Uncle billys food is awesome. excellent service from the beautiful friendly waitresses. yes they do understand english. no they do not understand mumbling yobbos. you don't speak clear, that's why your mates always say "what?, what? what?" go to maccas where you belong..salt and pepper chilli spare ribs are nice but were better when i use to get them years ago then they had more bone and salt and pepper....i love the enviroment there. you can get drunk and rowdy and eat and they don't look down on you and other patrons don't give a rats. i wish i was chinese so i could eat it every night.
Amazing value. I have been going to Uncle Billys for many years now. It's a great place to start or end a night, it's stays open so late. It's the type of place you go with a large group of friends if you want to get rowdy, or have been for the last few hours. BYO corkage is dirt cheap, along with the meals, plus the food is tasty. Restaurant decor is pretty old and worn out, but I think that really adds to the experience.
I would go as far to say that Uncle Billy's is one of Perth's iconic restaurants that you need to visit. Every time I take someone new in town there, they love the experience and most people who get out and a bit rowdy know about Uncle Billy's. You can get SO rowdy, most other places would remove you. Never had a bad time there, even when I found a bit of a steel wool scourer in my meal.
Haha amateurs. Laughing at these reviews below.
- First thing the food is amazing for what you pay, it's authentic Chinese food, not like your local china corner store restaurant next to the fish and chips joint.
- You can make reservations but you wont need to. I have walked in on many occasions all at different times (with a crew of people) and have always found that there were plenty of tables available.
- the honey chicken is to die for.
- I find that most negative reviews are from uncultured people, so if you are like me and have sense of cultureness (yeah I made that a word, you mad?) you will love this place.
- They give you god damn oranges after your meal and did I mention that these bad boys are sliced?
talk about quality service.
- Hand down the best AUTHENTIC Chinese restaurant in North Bridge.
We've been coming to Uncle Billy's for more than 10 years and the food and service has always been excellent. The range of dishes is outstanding and the prices are more than reasonable. We've recommend it to loads of friends and only ever heard positive feedback.
Haiku review. Cheap, cheerful, Chinese
Always packed, is a good sign
Almost too much choice
Best asian in town. Love this restaurant, great service, quick hot food, doesn't pretend to be something its not, kid friendly. Would recommend
Returning customer. I love Uncle Billy! They open till late, good prices and declious food. my fave is: Vinegar Chicken, Fried Squid tentacles and the fried rice! I used to go there weekly but now too busy with work. But I plan to go there as much as possible!
Fast and furious. If you're after a quick and reliably good Chinese meal in Northbridge look no further. Don't go here thinking to build a rapport with the waiter or get leisurely advice on your meal... however there are plenty of Western-style 'Chinese' and authentic dishes. Whatever you happen to order will likely be tasty, plentiful, well priced and will hit the table in a surprisingly short time.
There is not a good range of beer or water but it's not five star dining, and we couldn't understand the waiter anyway so just nodded.
Will definitely be back.
Had a great meal here the other night - I had eggplant in egg yolk - which came out more like tempura than i expected, but gee it was good. My partner had Szechuan seafood, which was tasty - and full of seafood, not just onion like some. Not much in the way of atmosphere... But that's sort of part of the atmosphere of a place like this, isn't it? We'll be back!
Great food, average service. I am a frequent diner at Uncle Billies as the food there is very tasty and well priced. A tip for you all that I have learned to make the most of your dining experience is to order entrées first, keep a menu and then only order mains when entrées are finished. Everytime I tried to explain I wanted a break between the two, they would always stuff it up and bring dishes out randomly, I even went to the effort of grabbing their ordering pad and drawing a line and writing 15 minute break. Still no luck. If you do visit I highly recommend the boneless duck, sweet chilli whole chicken and the duck fried rice

Best Chinese in Perth. Firstly make sure you get the chilli pepper squid. It is amazing.
Secondly, don't be put of by the décor. The first time I walked in I was dubious but I honestly put it out of my mind once I tasted the food. It is consistently good and the place is open till really late so turn up as late as you like.
BEST CHILLI PEPPER SQUID IN TOWN. I come for the delicious crispy fried chilli pepper squid but I stay for the deep fried Oreos and ice cream!! The squid alone is worth a visit. It is out of this world. The batter is super light. All other dishes are pretty average but I've never had a bad meal or disliked anythong. One gripe - they never bring my rice with the main dishes! I always have to remind them.
Winner!. Visited Uncle Billy's tonight and wasn't disappointed. There was a good vibe at the restaurant and service was good too. The food was very tasty and we all agreed that we'd go again.
Duck and Pinot a Good Combo. Booked here for a Friday night, group of 8 for a Duck and BYO Pinot Noir night. Ordered a lot of duck which was the point I guess! And naturally brought a lot of Pinot. Ordered following:
Special Duck Claypot, was nothing special.
Aromatic Salted Duck was o.k.
Roast Duck with Plum Sauce - some liked it, I found it bony and very average
Peking Duck only an average effort here - needs shallots.
Yummy Duck (Fried Duck Stuffed with Yam) was excellent and full of flavour.
Jellyfish with Shredded Duck (served cold) was surprisingly good and spicy.
Duck fried rice was excellent and the table was surprised it was as good as it was
Followed up the duck with deep fried Oreo which no one really needed but all ate it just the same.
You also need to be careful in this place and not order your entrées and mains at the same time or you will get them all at the same time. Order a few dishes at a time and it all works well.
As with all China Town restaurants, it depends on what dishes you are ordering. Vinegar Chicken is really nice. Not my first choice in China Town (personal preference for dishes served), but a definite second place.
Dinner. Excellent food in low stress environment. Vinegar chicken was superb as was scallops with snow peas. Will definitely come again.
We've been dining here a few times over the past years. Food is typical Chinese cuisine, average to good. Service has been okay too. Nothing to complain about but I guess I can understand why some customers will get offended if asked to pay in advance. I would be too but they had customers leave one by one pretending to make calls/smoke & just left w/o paying. So in their point of view they are playing it safe. Maybe I can give a few suggestions such as to call the police if they get doggy customers, give them the bill once all dishes are served or even take down their drivers licence details for customers coming after midnight?? These strategies might deter some from not paying. Those working there know regular customers so if you've been there, they know who you are & that you'll pay for your meals. I would go back there. I have been to all of them in that area & they are all good!! Its all up to individual liking :)
Good eat. You go here when you want awesome food, not so much the service. The food here is great, always come back regularly. Best dish for me is the Chilly pepper squid it just melts in your mouth, it is the best I have had in Perth. Best Part is that they are open to the early hours of the morning.
Food AMAZING! Decor and staff are terrible but if you are after extremely good food at a great price, look no further! You will never have great service or even good service here but if you go in understanding this you will have a really tasty meal! Recommend the salted chilli chicken and deep fried Oreo!
Saw some of the reviews and was a bit weary about coming here, but group of friends insisted, so gave it a go. It's an awesome Chinese joint! I love the black pepper fillet steak with the lettuce and vinegar chicken. It was completed with the deep fried Oreo dessert! It sure has my vote :)
Love this place!. Great food, and open till early hours!!
Tasty taste. This is my favourite chinese place in Perth.
I discovered it about a year ago and head back there maybe once a month.
Its always packed and the food is great, I like to try something different every time - and usually its a winner.
Thanks Billy
This place is awesome! Great food and reasonably priced. Not as cheap as it should be but hey this is Perth! Overall probably the best chinese I've had in Perth!
Vinegar Chicken... best in town. My favourite menu item. Great staff, prompt service, cheap as chips and open till the wee hours! Perfect for family and party goers alike!
Try the vinegar chicken.... it is AMAZING!!
I eat here quite regularly and I have never left disappointed. The food is always fresh, hot and full of flavour. The servings are so large I've never actually finished a meal. The decor and the service isn't the best. Best part is its open late. Perfect for late night Chinese cravings.
Food is awesome.....ambience & decor is bad but the food is worth it.....very tasty & fresh plus prompt service & it's cheap! Highly recommend!!!
Great food, good service!. Probably some of the best Chinese in Perth, and cheap too! Perfect after a big night out in Northbridge, veges are always fresh and never kept waiting. Do try it!
Decent Chinese. Big menu, good chinese food, quick service so all around pretty good and reliable. They are also open late night so that's a bonus after a night out in Northbridge.
Went for dinner in a party of 3. Really liked all the dishes we ordered. The fried spicy chicken, sizzling spicy Japanese tofu, sambal kangkong, century egg porridge, and Yangzhou fried rice were all really really yummy!!! We couldn't finish all the dishes & took away the leftovers. It was still yummy when we heated them up for lunch the next day.
Great for a late night feast!. I have been to UB several times now, mainly after finishing work late at night and I have to say it is always delicious! I am usually very boring and just get the Honey Chicken (which is great) but the rest of the group always order different items which from what I have tasted are always really good.
The only downside would be the service, which I find we are always having to ask a couple times for things (wine glasses, plates etc) but it eventually gets done, so not a big deal. And for how much you pay, you can't really compain.
Usually our group orders springrolls or something to start, a main each accompanied by fried rice etc... And usually for under $20/person! Bargain really and free BYO!
Great Food. Really yummy food here. The chilli pepper squid was the best squid we have had in a long time and the xo sauce delicious. Pretty cheap too. Definately be going back.
2am!. This is absolutely the perfect place to go if at 1am you are just desperately craving a bowl of soup. You forget the time because it is totally bustling at all hours, with those who have had enough of clubs and also those just keen on a late night snack. The food is fine, and that's all it needs to be!
Overwhelming choice!. A group of six of us went to dinner at Uncle Billy's on a Friday night after Hawker's Cuisine couldn't accommodate us.
The restaurant are is quite nice, pretty typical and just a tidgy bit dingy. Staff are efficient.
We ordered marmite chicken, braised beef with pinapple and ginger, spare ribs in cola, roast duck with plum sauce, vegetables and fried rice. All dishes were lovely. The only criticism I would level is against the ribs. They were soooo good when you got a decent chunk of meat, but there wasn't all that much meat to be found.
The BYO here helps keep the price of your night out down, and the food is good. We will no doubt return in future.
Addictive. Have been here about 10 times now and sampled quite a lot on the menu. Yet to find something I haven't liked - nothing even average!!! Nice to be able to order knowing you wont regret your choices!!! Special mentions are the salt and pepper ribs, sizzling steak in chinese sauce and even the sweet and sour is worth the embarrasment of ordering something so western!
Good quality, fresh food at a reasonable price.
My family and I used to go there alot...until there are more places to choose from....
so yeah.. went back there tonighte (Monday night)... now it's just with average food... unless u like extremely salty food... average service and yeh,.. i would not really recommend this restaurant unless it's on a sat night after clubbing and you just need some food in your stomach ... or when there are no other restaurants that are open... e.g. late night/past 9pm
Highly Recommended. Love this place, have been going to this joint for 4 years now! There is just so much variety and the food tastes great every time, no matter what you order. XO cripsy noodles are one of my favourites and I haven't found a better place yet. Other dishes I like are San Far Chicken, Salt&Pepper squid, not to mention their yummy porridge esp after clubbing or a late late night of work!
Overall a great restaurant! Great, friendly and quick staff! And a great feed!
This place is amazing Quick service open late and most importantly the best ChineseThe Salt and pepper squid the duck ummmmmm
Late night, so reliable. Oh Uncle Billy's. Your chilli pepper squid, your peking duck your deep fried mantou. Dont ever close early
I've lost count of the times I've gone back to UB's. Everything is good - I wake up in the middle of the night with cravings. The service is quick and the staff will even accommodate you when drunk and rowdy in the early hours of the morning.
Try:
Chilli Pepper Squid
Kai Lan Oyster Sauce
Soft Shell Crab
Peking Duck
etc
etc
etc
etc...
Late night fave!. Do come here when your out late and feeling peckish!
everything is great and so cheaply priced! I love salt and pepper squid, butter herbs king prawns, seafood and egg congee, sambal kangkung (veggies), claypot dishes.
