Come for the coffee, stay for the amazing milkshakes. This place does waffles and other food items but I never seem to walk past except when it's closing. In saying that, the staff were wonderful and great to interact with.
It's relatively hidden at the back of an arcade in Northbridge but that doesn't detract from the vibe inside! The ambience is very upbeat, and carried by the staff more than anything. There's a generous stack of magazines to read while you wait if you're visiting solo, and the coffee is usually pretty decent.
Small but cozy place in one of the lane in the heart of CBD. Food here, while small in choices, are great! But the highlight for me would be their milkshake! Amazing, truly! And do look out for their $5 deal every now and then (with every purchase of brunch)! Staffs are friendly, though, one time, they forgot my order (which was.. not.. so.. good)..
I have been seeing Babooshka's gourmet milkshakes all over Instagram for months and recently had the opportunity to see if they were as tasty as they were pretty. They are.
My partner and I made the trip to the city for a quiet Sunday breakfast. The laneway is easy enough to find - look for the Donburi restaurant and head down to the end. If you drive in there is a Wilson carpark right outside the cafe.
The cafe is tiny, with a small number of tables and a takeaway window. It is neat and quirky, with large glass walls for maximum light. The menu is small and delicious and the shakes change regularly. They have the staple famous multi-layered donut shake...too sweet for me that early in the day.
We ordered the Tim Tam shake and the Tiny Teddy Nutella shake; both were delicious and creamy. I ordered the breakfast nachos which is the best idea I've heard of in a while. I wish it had a little more of the salsa on it - I'm one of those weird people who enjoys the soggy nacho chips. My partner had the breakfast hot dog. Both of these meals plus a shake will satisfyingly fill you up for the morning.
I would recommend it for small groups of friends, partners, and solo visitors. And whilst you are there check out some of the other shops in the laneway.
Came here for a friend's birthday brunch. The dukkah eggs was very yummy. Coffee was good too. All the food were quite tasty and generous portion. We ordered the the triple donut& chic coated bacon milkshake to share. The milkshake taste so so... We ordered it mainly for Instagram picture. Friendly staffs and relaxing atmosphere.
Food was great, just that they forgot my order. Was only me and a friend and my friend got her food and I waited 40min from then, had to ask for my meal twice. However, I got the food and also a full refund, a bit upsetting but professionally taken care of.
Funky little coffee shop, tucked away in a side street of northbridge.
Friendly staff and a great coffee with a nice kick to it.
And they have eftpos !
I've only stopped by here a couple times for a coffee or hot chocolate. And so far I really enjoy it especially their hot chocolates. Really nice start to a Sunday morning. I also really like their coffee cups and thier logo on it.
Haven't got the chance to try their food yet, but from passing by and seeing the food they served it looks delicious. Their milkshakes look super cool aswell.
Have been meaning to come try this place for a while now. Finally had a chance to the other day. The coffee was good. For the meals we ordered the Tsar's breakfast and the Dukkah eggs. Hey were large and generous portions which we struggled to finish. Just found that for both dishes, they were quite dry. Wouldn't mind coming again to try other dishes.
Yaaaaaaaaaaaas! Been hankering to try here for weeks! Finally on a day i can have a reward for all my healthy eating, came down on a windy Sunday afternoon for a midday brunch with my friend. First thing noted, counter staff did not make it clear how they operated but that's OK! The guy who served us was a bit lack lustre, but maybe he was still dazed from the morning rush! He did get my friends order wrong but my friend realised and all was OK!
I got the golden gaytime shake - didn't remind me of a golden gaytime at all but that's ok because it was absolutely delicious! If you love honeycomb, that's the one for you! I had an almond milk coffee, keen to come back and try normal coffee 😁
OK OK THE FOOD HERE IS SPECTACULAR! I wasn't expecting very much but I got the dukkah eggs with a side of bacon and it's the best breakfast dish I've had in Perth! The haloumi portion was one tiny slice, but the baba ganoush was so flavoursome it didn't matter! My friend got the eggplant kasundi and it was also amazing! If anything please try the food here - the chef gave amazing customer service and was sooooooo polite! He even asked us how our meals were and was clearing all the tables! Great little brunch spot in the CBD! 💓💓
A nice little cafe tucked away. I've only recently started eating avocados by choice as I never used to like it. So, I decided to try the Smashed Avo and glad I did. It definitely didn't put me off it which is good. It was nice and filling. The bread wasn't rock hard either (it's just as important on the plate :D).
Went here for brunch today. I got the smashed avo which was 10/10. BEST smashed avo I've had so far 😍 the bread it was on was also incredible. My partner got the poached eggs and they were perfectly cooked. We also had chai teas but we weren't very impressed with those unfortunately. Didn't taste anything like chai. Sort of just tasted like sucking on a tea bag. So I wouldn't recommend the chai, but everything else was great! Friendly, chill vibes and good service. Loved it!

This place does the most amazing Avo smash I've ever had. The chef was lovely too - when I asked the recipe he told me how to make it and that the main ingredient is love! Flipping brilliant food 😝
down a little arcade in Northbrige, there is a cute little cafe that does really nice coffee and traditional cafe fare.
My Chai Latte was creamy and spicy. A total joy to drink really!
Babooshka has a relaxed vibe and has a dog that popped in from a nearby florist
Best milkshakes and breakfast with pretty nice artwork ;)
Went there multiple times and I cannot get enough of this cosy little place
Ps. Staff are pretty great people & good looking
First visit to Babooshka was when I was pregnant and I had Dukkah Eggs. I suddenly craved for it again today. I almost forgot how filling and flavoursome it was. Definitely worth the price (not cheap). Loved how they cooked the mushrooms and spinach. Eggs were poached well, although I dislike their strong vinegar smell. Baba ganoush was yum. I asked for no haloumi as not a big fan of it. They gave 2 slices of thin toasts, generous. Move on to their coffee, I loved it. Just slightly bitter and still nice even after it's gone cold. Keen to try the Challah French Toast next time.
Hidden in the back end of an alley, quite a nice place for brunch. Although the service was a bit lacking (pepper shaker not topped up, or the complimentary lemon water for patrons). We ordered their Golden Gaytime Milkshake - tasty caramel, not overly sweet and topped with honeycomb. Food wise ordered Dukkah Eggs and French Toast. The Dukkah was very nice, poached eggs runny and soft, mushrooms and spinach done well, but the haloumi was a bit hard and dry - good dish overall though. The French Toast was a tad on the dry side, not as fragrant as I'd like, went well with the berries, but the Chai flavoured cream, was different but I didn't think went well with the dish. Small menu, but would like to try something else.
Babooshka is okay - I had their Tsar's breakfast as I'd seen it all over the 'gram, and they have big neighbours that have impressed me in the past (Superstar, Francoforte etc) so this had to be good. The egg's yolk wasn't runny unfortunately, but everything else was pretty decent.
Awesome! I love this place. Ordered the dukkah eggs and the salted caramel milkshake. Decent pricing and the food comes out quick. great little Brekky spot !
Came on a Saturday at 10:30am for brunch. The place was quite crowded and it's a small place so the only seats available were on the stools at the high table. I ordered the dukkah eggs which came with toast, eggs, mushroom/spinach/chickpeas, baba ganoush, haloumi and dukkah. I enjoyed this combination and the additional baba ganoush, chickpeas and haloumi which gives it a bit of a difference compared to other places which just serve mushrooms and eggs on toast. They also sell the diabetes-in-a-jar milkshakes with donuts stacked on top if you're into that sort of thing.
A good little cafe. Coffee and juice were great. Lots of appetising brekky options on menu. We had the smashed avo and the salmon bagel, both were yum!
Fantastic experience. Had the Golden Gaytime milkshake was absolutely divine. The sweetness of the milkshake, with the added crunch on the honeycomb provided added texture and flavour to the milkshake!
I'd seen a lot of Babooshka on Instagram mainly of their triple donut milkshake! Being ever so tempted to try the cafe for the first time and try the diabetes drink I'd seen plastered online I came down this morning. But being healthy I went for the dukkah and iced coffee.
I love the location, so close to the cbd yet tucked away in a hallway of shops that made you feel like you were no where near the city!
The staff were friendly and looked happy to be working which gave off a great vibe! Despite the limited space and few tables we didn't have to wait and despite most tables outside being filled there was little noise ensuring a conversation was able to go on without annoying others!
The food and drinks came out quickly and I loved the size of the dukkah with 2 eggs, bread and piece of haloumi and a large portion of mushrooms and chickpeas. While the presentation wasn't anything special the food tasted great! Especially the baba ghanoush. The poached eggs were a little undercooked and soaked the bread quite quickly but apart from that I was truly satisfied!
Tiny cafe that hidden away in the corner. You could quiet easily walk pass and miss it. Like how laid back the place felt. Grabbed a quick coffee and cake before running off to a meeting. Coffee size and price, same as other places. Had no problem with the service, staff were polite and helpful. Will have to come back for a bite.
Unassuming and unexposed this cute little café really is a hidden gem. Tucked away in a Northbridge alleyway Babooshka is a real find. Rustic wood tables and bench seats flank its exterior with fresh posies of wildflowers draped in tiny bunches on each. And the food - to die for - literally. Well that's if you are talking about the triple donut choc-coated bacon milkshake for $20. Ateer away from the milkshake menu if you are at all concerned about calories and dive straight into the All Day brunch. Dukkah and eggs on toast is delicious as is the smashed avocado with a lemon twist. Highly recommended!
Love the breakfast menu, it's hip and cool and a great selection! I can't pass up the Dukkah Eggs, but I hear they're launching a new menu very soon so I'm sad to see them go. Not yet tried one of their insane milkshakes topped with donuts and bacon yet but it's on the to do list! The "Snickers" dessert is amazing too. And the coffee.
Little tricky to find but once you do you won't regret it. Super cute set up, really nice food. Service was great, very friendly and very prompt.
Cute little Sunday morning breakfast place. Poached eggs were perfect. Bacon a little on the cardboard side. Coffee very good. Service lovely and friendly. Unfortunately a friend was over-charged though. Some slight improvements and this will be a great cafe.
I came here before the milkshake craze and had the panna cotta however I found it bland :( They also didn't have many baked goods on display... I'm sure however that I will be back to try again, if only for a milkshake when I don't plan on eating anything else for 3 days...!
Funny name: Russian old lady. Love how Perth caught on this milkshake trend relatively quickly. But let's be honest, taste wise nobody would be expecting a lot. The gimmick: donuts and bacons...not cheap either:$20 for one. Oh well, ticked it off my list! Will I be back for that? Probably not, but wouldn't mind getting a coffee from there every now and then.
Unassuming little place. Finally found a good magic in Perth. You know they do specialty coffee when they say they can make a magic. Will be making this place a regular. Thumbs up for great coffee.
French toast was to die for. Not too sweet, but a perfect balance. The menu had enough choices to suit most groups. The coffee was strong and well balanced. The shop was quite busy with regulars for coffee, so CS wasn't top notch, but not bad either. Would definitely return.
First time in Perth and I had heard about this place on Instagram. My wife and I had the French toast and ice coffee. It's was sensational. Food and beverage selection is great, staff could be a little friendlier when you arrive to order though.
Great go to place in northbridge with a cute vibe to go and get a coffee with friends. Love their Vietnamese iced coffee. This place doesn't fault :)
I was here earlier drinking my Golden Gaytime Milkshake. Ever since this was introduced to me by a friend, I can never stop going here, whether for the amazing milkshakes or coffee. They have a nice place situated with a bar and a waffle shop next to them and I usually go to them before I found out about Babooshka recently.
Staff are lovely, food and coffee is amazing and the milkshakes are out of this world. I liked the salted caramel Milkshake and golden Gaytime. I enjoy where it they are situated and it is a lovely place to have sit on an afternoon. I like sitting around their balcony whenever I'm there.
Babooshka is tucked away in a Northbridge car park (conveniently close to the train station.) They have created a pretty hip atmosphere in such a small nook. I was transported to nyc with nigga beats, bagels and OTT shakes. Even though there are boxes everywhere and it can come across as a bit cluttered or dingy, I think this only adds to the experience. There was even a pigeon walking around in there while I was having my lunch haha.
Had the eggplant bagel which was amazing! Bit pricy for $10.50 but the bagel itself was so fresh and doughy. One of the best bagels I have actually eaten.
Iced coffees are nice and refreshing on a hot day (especially because the air con in this place isn't particularly good.)
I would definitely return for coffee with friends and a taste of one of there scrumptious looking sweets.
Finally somewhere I can pick up a long black in Northbridge without having to doubt what it will taste like - Always spot on. Their shakes look ridiculous (in a good way) but I'm not game enough to try... yet. Bagels are good. Staff is good. Great spot to sit and chat with a mate.
My go to coffee place every weekday morning before going to work for the past year. Coffee is always delicious and consistent and the boys (Andy and griff) are the top coffee making dawgs!
I visited Babooshka this morning with Grace, we ordered the Krispy Kremes milkshake (minus the bacon). What a bloody epic milkshake! Im loving every each one sip and mouthful of it.
Thank you for everyone that stop by and say hello to me!
Great little coffee bar tucked away in arcade 189 off William Street. It was a great haven to stop by for a solo coffee and do a little work first thing in the morning. The long black was sensational and not to mention the thick layer of crema. Also enjoyed reading the world atlas of coffee book on the counter! Will have to return for breakfast
Super cute coffee bar and cafe. Only had a coffee well priced and great tasting, strong, not bitter and good creme! Located in small lane in between flight centre and Is Donburi Japanese.
Very cute little cafe tucked away in a small alleyway in Northbridge. Great spot for a quiet, relaxed meal with friends. Try their smoked salmon and capers bagel - it's amazing! The Russian nesting dolls are a good touch.
Very peaceful place to relax on a rainy Saturday morning, with super chill tunes. We made a booking as we read on Facebook that bookings were essential before 9:30, but we arrived at 8:50 and it wasn't yet busy. Dale ordered the dukkah eggs and I ordered the challah french toast. Both were large servings which were good value and left us feeling very satisfied. The french toast is served with roasted banana and fresh strawberries. It's very, very indulgent and I loved it. The dukkah eggs came with perfectly cooked poached eggs, mushrooms, wilted spinach, chickpeas, dukkah and grilled haloumi. The texture of the haloumi was amazing.
Dale also ordered the nutella milkshake. I ordered a soy mocha which was rich and perfectly textured. Very satisfied with our breakfast and can't wait to come back to try other food!
Great coffee tasty and strong perfect to get you going . Interesting menu. Happy friendly staff. Really well priced for a Perth cafe. Definitely my Coffee local
Babooksha is a nice little cafe with friendly staff and cool atmosphere. The food was quite good, not the best I've had, but was quite good nonetheless. They played cool music and had great service. I ordered french toast and the missus ordered a brekky meal. Had a good experience. I would recommend.
Best haloumi OUT ! Good service, great menu options that take care of all your dietary needs and a back street vibe. Not to busy because it's off the main strip of northbridge
Great coffee, great location, great menu unfortunately the execution of my chosen breakfast (Dukkah Eggs) was not quite up to expectations cold mushrooms and overcooked eggs. We sat inside as it was freezing it's a shame the staff didn't show us some consideration and keeping their profanities to themselves. F....g this, f.....g that every second sentence
This place was a little hard to find, located in an alleyway behind is donburi or superstar waffles, a hidden gem and unlike ordinary cafes with the usual 'bacon and eggs' brunch this place has rubbed in some good flavours together! Unique and very friendly service, they offer free sparkling water and the eggs I had was cooked to perfection.
However not sure if it was the cheese or something else that was just a little salty in the dukkah eggs, apart from that everything had been perfect :)
This guys think outside the box slightly. Strange combinations of flavours that delight and all day brunch. Only fail is it isn't open on Sunday. Or maybe it is now.
Hidden Gem. Love this little hidden gem. Good friendly staff with tasty food. They use local coffee roasters Blacklist from South Perth which is a thumbs up from me!
Awesome awesome. Enjoyed the brunch menu. Sensational!! Perfect poached eggs.
Coffee was strong and smooth.
Free spring or sparkling water is a nice point of difference. Friendly staff and quick service.
Will definitely be back
I went today and loved it! Barista was awesome and made amazing coffees, service and vibe was great. Loved the food too, will definitely back!
Очень хорошо. If you were to pronounce it in Russian it would be "bd bffsh kd' but you guys are still rad :) Will be back for coffee and snacks during my works breaks for sure.
Will be coming back again. Great service.
Great coffee.
Such delicious breakfast. A+++
I love it when you wander down a laneway and find a fantastic new café. This time it included a range of cute pepper and salt Babushka dolls. This week I’ve been exploring the new street art popping up around Perth for public 2015. I thought I’d start with Northbridge but I was a tad early so I popped down a laneway for a little bit of Me Time. When I got there I found Babooshka and was welcomed in by super friendly staff. The food looked so good I was pleased to find that it was getting close to lunchtime … perfect excuse for a bagel.
It's okay.... 10/10 for service, but I wish my coffee was hotter and stronger. It also had a dry taste to it, which I dislike. Worth returning to though if I'm in the mood as I can always ask for a hotter/stronger coffee. Nice atmosphere too, and not ridiculously expensive like other cafes.
Edit: I have returned a couple of times now. Perfect now!
Nice iced latte with fresh shots!
Good service - they were quick although quiet at the time. Received free sparkling water as advertised but looking at the sizes of coffee compared to prices and compared to some of the great café competition they have in Perth, I would say they are a bit overpriced and we are paying for the sparkling already. Good coffee but I'm not rushing back too soon.
Boston eggs are dope & coffee is up there with the best 10/10 would eat again
Very good coffee.. Friendly service, great coffee. That's all that matters.
Fantastic food! Simple and tasty!
Coffee is amazing. I will be back!
Beautiful food, even better coffee, great location, excellent service and a wonderful experience all around. Would recommend 5/5

Tucked at the end of an arcade in Northbridge off William St, you’ll find this wonderful, small cafe that really packs a punch. Babooshka is still a new inclusion to the Perth food and coffee scene and boasts tables inside and out with a wonderfully airy back seating area. The service was okay, friendly and relaxed but not super prompt. You’ll need to order and pay at the counter but your food will appear at your table after that. What we really came here for though was the coffee! Babooshka are repping the Blacklist Coffee Roasters (another name for the boys at our local favourite, Sprolo ) forte blend. This is a rich, and strong coffee, complex and full bodied, one of those coffees that makes you happy, and passed our second coffee test with flying colours! Not only do they serve excellent coffee but also have a small menu of brunch dishes. We chose the Boston Beans for our savoury dish. It looked a bit oily when it arrived but was perfect when mixed through. There was a good balance of ingredients and it had a rich and meaty flavour, while it may be a scorching summer right now, this would be a perfect dish to warm you up on a winters morning! Our last dish was the granola with a vanilla bean panna cotta. This was wonderfully presented, if you want a good Instagram snap this is the dish for you. We liked that the panna cotta was served standing, but it was a bit over set and needed a little more of that wobble. It had a lovely lightly coconut and vanilla flavours which were complemented well by the granola. Toasted, with fruit, hints of honey and a blueberry sauce the granola completed what was both a beautiful and satisfying breakfast. Babooshka is a fantastic little spot for coffee or brunch and we would heartily recommend it for your next weekend escape!
Babooshka was bursting at the seams with people. I noted that the crowd was eclectic. Not just the usual (yawn) hipsters that flock around the new spots in Perth. There was a spattering of them but there were also families and tables of people from over seas speaking other languages. This spoke to me. It told me that whatever Babushka had to offer it went beyond the boundaries of Perth cool-dom. Babooshka is a counter service venue so up I went and ordered. The girl taking the orders was so run off her feet but managed to maintain a friendly face and was honest enough to say that there would be a slight wait. Which was fine. A surprise wait isn't but when one has been warned then it makes the world of difference. Also gives one an excuse to trawl through Facebook and other social media apps while waiting I ordered a simple breakfast. Watermelon with vanilla bean yogurt, mint and chia seeds ($10). This came out looking like a little work of art. The melon was crisp and sweet, the yogurt wasn't too sweet which was a good thing and the mint added an amazing freshness. The seeds made the dish filling and while I still am not up to speed on the point of chia seeds I am sure they added nutrients. I also ordered a green smoothy ($9)This was packed with all sorts - spinach, kiwi, banana, honey,

Don't be fooled by that less than glamourous description of it's location… remember what I said about these new vibrant hang outs? This place has been on my radar since it opened. When my Instagram feed floods with food porn from a new café, it gets added to the ever growing list of places I have to visit. It was quickly raced to the top of that list when Cam and his girlfriend Phoebe wanted to catch up for brekky over the christmas/new year period and this place was one of the few open. The cafe is really cosy inside but there are plenty of tables out in the arcade.
Small Chic industrial shop with generous portion sizes and amazing food.
The French toast is delicious but be warned it's for two people.
Vietnamese coffee is solid, a good balance of coffee and condensed milk.
Good coffee and French toast was awesome!!! Food all round fantastic!!!
Very nice cafe, boring view and a little bit noisy because of construction nearby, but is good and very nice coffee
Breakfast Nachos!! Great coffee!!Insanely good shakes!! Avocado 💚!! Friendly and welcoming staff!!
Exceptionally nice coffee! These guys have wonderful staff and offer a great range of tasty food. Although I haven't tried the speciality milkshakes they are apparently to die for!
You definitely won't be disappointed.
