Review Chocolateria San Churro - East Victoria Park - Perth

Kit Teguh
I'm always grateful for places that open late because there's not enough of them in Perth. My experience wasn't off to a good start because nobody came in to sit us down and we were on the entrance for a while before we sat ourselves down. On top of this, the web table ordering system was confusing, all over the place and I had to repeat the orders a few times.I was tempted to walk out and head to Gusto Gelato across the road. There was a line in the counter and I had to wait a while before I sneak in my order. Credit where credit's due, the Classic Spanish I ordered was decent.

Pretty decent place for choco lovers. Have all the choco dessert you can think of. Quite nice for cold wet night like today to enjoy dark hot choc. The churros is always on point. So many sauce to choose too. Order is seamless with the apps. But place quite busy so the attention to the services is a little bit low. Our table was not cleaned properly but overall was pretty good experience. A must try if you're chocolate fans!

It's fairly quiet at this hour. There is only one table available. It was pouring fiercely outside, so we decided to stop by for some hot drinks and churros! This is our first visit to San Churro, but I've heard nothing but amazing things about your churros! True to its name, I'd go for the churro and chocolate sauce dip. Everything works together well! I’m afraid I’ll gonna miss this when I return to Singapore! Thumbs up!

Staff on the day, I was there were so sweet and friendly! Looked after each other as a team - which you dont see very often in the hospitality industry. Food there, oh mai lord, so good!!!! 😍😍The effort that they put for the food amazes me. Ordered monster sundae, cookie butter frappe and english breakfast tea. U just gotta come if u havent. Already craving for it now🤤🤤

One of my fave dessert places. I don't think I'll ever get sick of churros. They're so addicting, and besides the churros. I'm in love with their icecream . I miss their limited edition jam donut icecream flavour! Golden gelato and mango sorbet are also other delicious icecream flavours that I regularly enjoy

Staff is lovely, food was brought out quite quickly. The latte my partner had was very lovely.

Having coffee after our dinner at Victoria Park. Well presentation and modern design. Enjoying our drink with friends for catch up.

Went yesterday, tried the online order business, ordered, got no confirmation of my order and waited for 30 minutes, left only to find out today that I actually was charged and apparently my order went through. I get that you guys are under the pump with staff, but for christ sake can you please fix the program to even properly notify you that you've made an order? Or something? Just lost like 11 dollars for nothing.

I took my sister to have some dessert. We ordered lemon meringue pie. Very disappointed in the tiny sliver of pie (just over an inch wide) they gave us for which they charged $9.00 for each piece. I will never go back again. I think it's very poor value for money.

EDIT: 02/02/20

In response to San Churro East Victoria Park's comment seen below: We informed the waiter (female) that we weren't happy with the portion size immediately as she served us. She informed us she'd tell the manager, BUT NOTHING was done about it. So, so much for your claim that you would've fixed it up for us. It's clear that you didn't care. The fact that you provided such pathetically tiny slices of pie - charging $9.00 each - says it all about your establishment. It was a blatant rip-off, and voicing our dissatisfaction achieved nothing.

❗️HIGHLY RECOMMENDED ❗️

place is always pretty packed !
this place is also my guilty pleasure
churros come out tasting super good all the time and is always consistent!
The service here is always good as well as staff are attentive and do as much as they can to make your experience a good one

i personally think coming here can’t go wrong so I’d recommend it ❤️

We went on the weekend ordered 2 dark hot chocolate and 1 milkshake. it took 40 mins to get our first order and milkshake took 10 more mins, and every food and drink was delivered to table, staff had to ask many tables if they ordered that stuff so by the time it gets to the right table, its not even hot......
it wasn't any system to operate the shop properly.....
very disappointed and won't be going back.

Staff are really on the ball at this location it’s always busy but they get through orders quickly. Every time they serve good quality churros and drinks both dine in and take away!

Let's begin. For starters, the churros are really good. The hot chocolate is also really good, but BEWARE. The milk chocolate is really, really sweet. You can literally feel the sugar working your teeth, so go for the dark unless you're up for the challenge. The waitresses look tired, bored and desperately need a holiday. The service is also very neglectful. The shop is kind of dirty and the decor is a nightmare.

So remember this folks, DO TAKEAWAY for the best experience.
Chris
This is always a busy San Churro. Sitting outside would be annoying as you’re placed right in the middle of the footpath, I recommend an indoor seat. Menu same as other San Churro’s

We came here recently . The place was good , good ambience and crowd. The service was also good. We orders churros for 2 and desert . The most disappointment was the churro on the desert was not cooked and we had to return it . The staff apologised and agreed to give us a a refund or replace. So the experience overall was not relle bad just make sure you’ll cook your churros next time .
Andy
The worst coffee I have had in a long long time....so bad almost asked for a refund. The service was not very good or friendly either. Probably won't be back

Nice place to catch up with your friends or family while having dessert. The staffs are friendly. I love their cold drinks but not the hot one because it’s too sweet for my taste.

Grab Churros for One or Churros for Two! Freshly made while you wait.

Great desserts and plenty of options.

The menu changes per season and there is always something new to try!

They have a loyalty program so sign up and get free Churros on your birthday and after 9 hot drinks, get the next free!

Visited at 4:30 in the afternoon. There were only two other tables there. My pot of peppermint tea was spilt all over the tray and made a pool of tea and leaves - the server saw this but put it down and walked away. The tea leaves had spilled into the rest of the pot so I had the joy of drinking my tea and trying to avoid the tea leaves. My daughter's hot cold chocolate must have been sitting for some time before it came out as all of the ice-cream had already melted before it was served. To top it all off the crockery was very broken - the spout on my tea pot had most of the end broken off and the mug on my partner's cappuccino had a huge crack all the way down one side with the glue used to fix it very visible. Altogether a not very nice experience - certainly not indulgent. The Leederville and Subiaco San Churros have always been lovely. Don't go to the East Vic Park shop.

Pretty yummy desserts but sometimes the items are a bit too oily and rich and can feel quite ‘heavy’. Pricing is not too high. The place is always crowded so expect a bustling atmosphere
Foodie In Paradise
We came here for some dessert after having dinner nearby. Churros were tasty and crunchy as always. This place was pretty busy on a weekday evening and we waited in the queue for quite a while to put in our order. Once we ordered, food and drinks arrived fairly quickly.
Cynthia Gigleux
I just came back from there, I waited more than 20 minutes for some churros. The guy taking the orders was good and was trying to be as quick as possible but other were so slow and even didn’t apologise for the waiting time (and were looking at their phone). Friday is a busy night so hire more people or don’t open. Churros were ok but nothing special, definitely overpriced!
Mango The Froot
Love their churros. It always comes out piping hot and fresh. Favourite dipping is the white and milk chocolate. The hazelnut dip tastes just like Nutella tbh and I don't think it's their own version of a hazelnut dipping. The white chocolate raspberry cheesecake wasn't that great; was dry and quite hard. The sundae is good but the ice cream flavours weren't very rich. The hot chocolate is alright, bit too sweet and rich for me and can feel quite overwhelmed halfway through. The place is often very crowded at night and also very noisy so not a good idea to come here for an evening date. Servers are always rushing and hard to get their attention. Overall, satisfactory enough to cure my churro hunger pangs, but I'll try other branches for a better vibe (perhaps Subiaco)

Was craving something sweet after lunch so I decided to try this place. Had a slice of San churro chocolate cake with a latte and ordered unicorn bubbachino for the little one. Cake was good and coffee was average.
Chris Hay
Sub par quality churros. They would be barely edible if it wasn't for the chocolate sauce. Churros from festivals and fairs are usually way better.
Get In Ma Belly
San churros is perfect for those days when you're craving chocolate everything, especially if you're pregnant hahaha. Ordered kids churros, toblerone cheesecake(which was so rich and yummy) the share fruit churro platter for 2. As for drinks, I ordered myself cold/hot chocolate, can't remember what mum ordered, and son had a babycino.
Ilovebeansprouts
Churros always triumph over all the other sweet treats and drinks whenever we're at San Churros. Churros were piping hot fresh from the fryer, dusted with cinnamon sugar and served with dark chocolate dip. Tried the Madrid Mocha for the first time and quite enjoyed it. It's a nice, bittersweet drink with a creamy texture; a great alternative to the other chocolate/sugar overload drinks. Sundae was our least favourite this time. We had a thick coating of dark chocolate topping that turned real solid hard after a while and this made it difficult for us to enjoy our sundae. Had to carefully break the hardened chocolate chunks apart with a butter knife, but gave up after a while because it became a hassle. Nonetheless, still look forward to come back for more Churros.
THE ILLUSIVE FEMME
Churro's are usually a bit overcooked and crunchy which is sad because they're so nommy! Love the White chocolate dipping sauce - it's not too sweet. Fruit is always fresh too.

Went there for dessert after family meal, very Lilly smelly shop, they open the door to welcome customer which makes the inside very cold. Both hubby & I got food poisoning after having the ice-cream & churros....

Hot drinks looked delicious but deym it felt like I was drinking a cup of diabetes. I'm suprised I didn't end up in a sugar coma after eating here. Churros were good but the hot drinks were like it was made from pure chocolate mixed with sugar and some more sugar and sprinkled it with sugar
Amber Vennitti
Service was terrible. We ordered a chai latte and a hot chocolate and took about 20 minutes. We got the chai latte first and then had to wait another 10 minutes for the hot chocolate to arrive. The store was not busy at all so shouldn't have taken this long. Very disappointed

We came here after dinner at Ramen Samurai. Little princess was asking if she could have churros after dinner. Why not? In that part of Victoria Park, nearly everything is within walking distance. The place was overly crowded when we walked in. We could see a queue snaking to the counter for orders. We barely waited before a staff attended to us and got us a table right away. It was really clear that all the staff there that night was pushed to their limits. I did not once see the queue shorten and there was a constant stream of people walking in. We ordered the churros for 2, a mini milkshake, a cappuccino and the raw cacao. We waited for about 10mins and then the drinks came first followed by the churros about 5mins later. We laughed when we saw what the mini milkshake was served in. It was served in those plastic cups that is used for getting water. Little princess loved it though. The churros were done well that night. Crunchy on the outside and chewy within. The cappuccino and the raw cacao tasted great too. The female staff for served us earlier even came by and asked us if we have received everything that we ordered. I must applaud again those working that night. It was clearly very busy and even when we left at half past nine, there were still people coming in. Sometimes I feel that we must cut them some slack. It is not easy working in an environment like that. For the service that was rendered, I give this place a 4.0

I've got charged $65 for a cup of hot chocolate and they are not willing to give my money back. I have waited for more than 2 weeks to let them investigate. This is ridiculous. Make sure to grab a receipt if you choose to eat there, u will never know how much they charged you until you check your bank statement!!!!! Or I would suggest don't go there at all to avoid getting rip off !!!!😡😡😡

I'm surprised they allow this place to remain open. The churros were so inconsistent you wonder who's in the kitchen (Sunday night). Had several churros half the size of an average one and a lot of curly ones. Ended up sending a plate back. The northbridge store's churros are double the size. No quality control in Vic park.
Bethany Goodall
San churro places are all pretty standard so can't say I was wowed or disappointed. We ordered churros to share with milk and white chocolate and hazelnut and caramel filled churros. All pretty good, no surprises or complaints. The filled churros were tasty but quite messy to eat.
Kieran Gordon
Has to be the most overpriced, over rated and overcooked food in perth. Hope you have dental insurance as you will need it after biting in to one of these churros. All you can taste is oil, rock solid on thw outside and no flavour what so ever. And the service is terrible. For starters you have to stand in a line to order. Then the waitress comes over with random deserts and she does not even know which table it goes to.

Would bot recommend thos place to my worst enemy.

Shite!!!!!
Thingy
Food was just ok. Service was marginal. Price was way too high for what you get and, for future reference to the staff; generally you put the smoothie in the glass not all over the outside!? Or go and work at McDonald's where they think that's normal!
Nadine Thong
Went to get some churros and drinks takeaway... ordered 2 of the churros for one, piece of cake and 2 drinks.. food took a while, girl actually just shoved everything to me.. asked whether could I have it all bagged up as I have another 2 drinks to carry & she just simply chuck the paper bag in front of me and walked away.. restaurant wasn't even busy at that time

Customer service = 0/5
Food quality = 2.5/5

Cheers to a fabulous ice cream
Green tea & white chocolate
Yummmmmmo!!!!
Mango...
Yummooooo!!!!!
This place is bustling all the time you can smell the sweet life walking past & the temptations in this place should be illegal ! Go eat churros until your hips are content !

We love you San churros Vic park
Thanks for the icecream & the happy service !!!

I really love going to san churros but will never go back to this one! Ordered a take away churro for 2 and it took over 20mins to get it and i even had to go up and ask where it is and they handed me COLD churros!! And kept telling me that they called it out when all we did was stare at them waiting...heard and saw nothing!! Very disappointed in the customer service of the manager, the venue wasn't packed but it wasn't quite and she was "taking a break" while the other 2 staff looked like they were struggling.... so we ended up leaving with our money back and no churros 😩😩
Matchamadeinheaven
Pretty unfortunate because normally San churro are on the game - they burnt my green tea leaves, making it completely undrinkable :( The staff member didn't even ask if I'd like a replacement when I informed her about it. I understand she might have been too busy or scared to ask but a bit disappointed. I left feedback online and received an apology which was nice. I just felt sorry for the one girl who had to do all the floor by herself and it was sooooooo busy while three other staff stood lazily behind the counter not even being able to make tea. Shout out to the girl on the floor! Even though you couldn't get me more tea you were working your butt off!!!! Anyway enough of that negative nonsense, sundae my way is amazing! We got Spanish caramel ice-cream, white chocolate and chocolate Brownie with melted milk chocolate, crushed peanuts, banana and mini churros. Bit expensive but we shared between three and was delicious :) my friends had peppermint tea and were really happy with it! Maybe I'll order coffee or hot chocolate next time ;)

Went here on Friday night. They need more staff because we were waiting for 15 mins to get seated and no one greeted us until I approached one of the staff. We have to order and pay the food at the till but only 1 staff was there and there's a long queue. Food came out pretty quick, 15-20 mins so it's all good. The taste never change like a few years a go when they just opened.
MSG Foodie
Went here on Monday night - the place is quite busy and seemed like they didn't have enough staff.
The churros came up super pale and undercooked.
Disappointed, hope it's only a one off thing.
Michael Thompson
A place built just for desserts to satisfy the taste bud, Deeeeeeeeelightful. I use to be just a churos only person but I've ventured out to the sundae's and now there's no turning back "the big kid sundae" is the only way to go, chocolate ice cream, cream, fudge, sprinkles, marshmallow's and churos packed into one!
Kanokporn P
That is a place that I would not come back again!!
I had ordered Churros with chocolate dip, Hot chocolate,Hot Mocha and Funnel cake.
All menu so sweet like you eat ton of sugar at the same time. Coffee are too bad that I ever had.
Slow service - Just 2 staffs on busy day but do everything. Drinks just come up when I finished all desserts??!!
Kanin Aungaphinan
I would rather not to say much about it.
Too sweet
Coffee taste strange
Two staff + no menu explanation or suggestion

Why this Cafe always crowded!?
Dilly Billy
Nothing to complain ..
Everything was really good. We tried the ice creams , churros, cakes and hot chocolates. The service and the taste was really good. Highly recommend his place.
Charlana Burns
They dont have a clue how to warm milk up! Every time they burn the milk, I recommend they book their staff onto a barista course and learn how to make hot chocolates and coffee and not burn peoples mouths! Churros are to die for though along with there dipping sauces, cakes in the fridges are over priced, we sell the exact same muffins and lemon tart in the cafe in the airport for $2 cheaper. Customer service is pretty poor and maybe try put extra staff on at weekends on the busy nights. Also if you order cakes/churros and a hot drink dont expect them both to come out at the same time!
Mick Gee
Went here on the weekend, was super busy. The churro were a little undercooked but the sauces salted caramel and Spanish caramel were great. The hot chocolate was really good and not overly sweet. I think that having one or two more staff on a busy, winterery Saturday night.
TheSoloAvocado.com
Silly decision to go here really but was trying to give the boy wonder a treat. He liked it. I can't see what the long queues and large crowds are all about. The chocolate was good but my much anticipated dessert isn't on the menu anymore. So we had churros ... Whatever.
Mr Butterbeer
They've changed from table service to self-service for ordering - ridiculous system when (a) you've got a massive line of customers queuing up for 15mins just to place an order; (b) If you're in a large group, someone needs to coordinate orders then split the bill (c) There's only ONE till open to take orders.

Owner is probably cost-cutting but this has definitely impacted the whole dining experience.

Out of our 8 or so orders, most came separately with 5 to 10 mins gap in between each order.

Lastly - the cafe smells strongly of vomit!!!! Would not be going back there again and I wouldn't recommend this to anyone unless you're after a horrendous dining experience.
Sam
Ordered a churros for one with Spanish caramel dip, choc volcano, hot chocolate with toasted marshmallow and mango smoothie for $37.30. We enjoyed it but bit overrated. Poor customer service. They brought out deserts in 5 minutes before the drinks then 5 minutes later the hot chocolate arrived and 20 minutes later my mango milkshake arrived. I asked her where it was, she said I never ordered it and try to argue with me but I just pulled out the receipt and that shut her stupid ass up. No apology and another 10 minute wait for my mango milkshake. I was really desperate to wash down all that chocolate from the volcano but had to wait thirsty for so long. Eh not worth it and I think it's a rip off really but the wifey craves things like this sometimes so might go back one day.
LittleAsianGirl
This place is always packed full of people who love chocolate and churros, especially on Friday and Saturday nights! Love a good churros with milk and dark chocolate dips. Coffee isn't that great here. I find the milkshake too rich and milky for me as I am not used to large amounts.
Hangry Hippo
Great customer service. I was tossing up between 2 options for a hot chocolate and the lady offered a taster which was really nice of her. Aztec hot chocolate is a must to tend to your cravings sufficiently.
Salman Kidi
Worst experience ever !! The customer service needs to be improved, could hardly understand what she meant :( so sad
I feel that the manager needs to look into it
The Life Of A Designer
The churros here are to die for! Always good, fresh and appealing!!

I remembered one of my visit here for the churros challenge, and 6 of us went here and spent $15 each and we had unlimited churros and a hot chocolate!
Nikki
Best place for desert and chilling with your mates. Try anything and it will be delicious. Extremely polite and smiling staff. Tried the sundeas last time - yummy and good quantity.
Shrinal Patel Kalita
Absolute all time fav place to be.. Had the new fennel cake which was a dip fried donut batter covered in milk chocolate, topped with vanilla ice cream and shaved chocolate. It was huge and totally filling I couldn't finish my share. I had the hot chocolate taster which had three different hot chocolate bases: milk, white and dark. These were a great idea but way too sweet and over powering that by the time you have one glass you need lots of water to wash it down.my favorite was the white hot chocolate
Kellie
The products are yummy but the service is consistently super slow at this branch. Having 1 staff member on by herself to serve and make dishes isn't great. The lady behind me in the queue left before she ordered as she'd already been waiting 10 minutes. I felt sorry for the solo worker - it wasn't her fault :(
Zee
Mmmmm churros!!! Gotta love the churros here. Came with a few friends and the only thing I didn't like about the place was that it was way too dark. And it was because they didn't even open half the restaurant.
Michelle Byrne
Quiet expensive for what you get. Its always delicious and never disappoints.. only 2 gluten free options but very tasty. Cannot fault their chocolate and chai lattes are just devine
Helen Suhalim
I love San Churros but I find the place to be a little too noisy for a nice chit chat with friends! Bought some churros the other night, only to receive them half cooked! It was a little disappointing and the waiters didn't really seem to care. Other than that, they usually do serve pretty damn good churros :)
Kudokun
One of my favorite dessert places in Perth. Loves the dessert here, they are very innovative with new menu coming up every seasons giving different taste and feel. At the moment of writing, my favourite would be the ice salted caramel at only $7.95 and peanut butter besos at $8.95 – but only if you a big fan of peanut butter (which I am!)

The cold hot choc at $7.95 is also really good with its chilled hot chocolate (cold chocolate basically) and ice cream.

Tried the strawberry bizcocho cup at $11.95 and was rather disappointed that it was actually custard instead of white chocolate. I think the custard ruin the taste.

I also tried the churro funnel cake at $11.95 which I don’t really like it. The funnel cake is bland and clearly not worth the price you pay. I would probably stick with the churro.

Melting chocolate bomba at $16.95 was clearly tempting from the first time I sat down and looked at the menu. I finally ordered one and it was okay – average. Small portion and nothing really special/stood out to justify the relatively high price. I probably would never order it again.

The place is quite big allowing big group of people to sit together. They are also quite flexible in moving furniture around to accommodate us. Services are good – usually come quite fast – on busy occasion it can be slower but still forgiven.

All in all, I love San Churro and would definitely come back again. Not only because Perth lacks decent dessert / hangout place, but because some of the item here are actually really really good. I will update this review when I tried new item (which i definitely will) to let you all know ;)
LittleGirlBigFood
San churro. Everything is good except the prices. They are steep for what you get. But look its a nice treat and the whole family leaves smiling.
Matchalover
Came here with my family after dinner on my birthday. I used my subscription email to redeem my "birthday churros." Came in around 9pm and it was very busy. Luckily the venue was big and had quite a lot of tables. The service was fast as there was a cashier right next to our table. The churros were crisp and delicious.
Emz
Noisy ambience. Saw a group celebrating someone's birthday and almost half of the restaurant helped to sing the Birthday song which was fun.

Overall nice decor but if they can sound proof that place I think it would be perfect. As usual nice churros.
Amy Warnes
My boyfriend and I love San Churros, we've tried a few different stores but East Vic Park is definitely our favourite! To be fair, we almost always get the same thing (a sundae for me and shake for him), but we have tried the churros and hot drinks a couple of times as well and the food is consistently well made. I've been to other stores that can be really on and off about how well they make the food, so what we love about this store is every time we come the food is always the same high quality, which is what you want when you're paying $12 for something you've been craving all week! We usually come during the afternoon when it's quiet, so it's hard to say for the busier times, but the atmosphere is nice. The customer service is pretty average, but it's never been bad enough to put me off the experience. We love San Churros East Vic Park and as long as the food keeps being delicious we will definitely be back again and again!

I really rather like San Churro -- I've got a terrible sweet tooth and there's nothing quite like freshly cooked churros with good quality chocolate and dulce de leche. What I don't like, however, is the Vic Park franchise of San Churro. We visited Vic Park 3-4 times hoping that the service would pick up but it never did.

The first thing that I dislike about Vic Park is the restaurant itself, it's an enormous open space with minimal soft surfaces so therefore it has terrible acoustics and is always uncomfortably loud inside which isn't great when you just want to sit, relax and chat over afternoon tea. The restaurant also has this half wall type thing mid-restaurant and the staff insist on cramming everybody into the front half of the restaurant no matter how crowded and uncomfortable because they do not want to attend to the whole venue. It's really not great.

They say that they do table service but it's always a matter of flagging down a staff member after waiting 20-30 min without any sign of somebody coming to take your order. The Northbridge franchise also does table service and I've never had an issue there. Subiaco, Leederville and Hillarys do counter service and I'd rather Vic Park switch to counter service than have to wait exorbitant lengths of time to place an order.

While the food is naturally the same menu as all other San Churro outlets the staff at Vic Park are unwilling to accommodate minor changes without charging fees for "extras" which I've never encountered at the other stores when you're substituting for an item which is actually a lower cost ingredient. This store is also incapable of bringing out an order together or in any sort of reasonable timeframe. What's the point of ordering multiple things together for a group if they bring out half the drinks after 20 minutes then 15 minutes later they bring half the food, a further 15 minutes later they bring some more food then 20 minutes after everybody has finished eating they bring the last of your hot drinks which nobody any longer wants to drink.

In general the service at this particular franchise is the pits, while I will happily visit San Churro when the mood strikes we avoid this particular outlet and instead make the longer drive to Northbridge and pay for parking in preference to dealing with Vic Park.

I always get trapped by San Churro.

By trapped I mean the idea of churros ignites my sugar craving and i'm readily imagining the delicious dipping sauces and cinnamon dusted churros..

In reality San Churro is always slightly disappointing, i'm not sure if it's the rushed, frustrated feeling you get when you step foot in there or if it's the underwhelming taste but i never leave feeling satisfied.

Tonight I came in and ordered churros for two with caramel sauce and white chocolate ice-cream. The churros came and were looked bland and unimpressive on the plate... they were. There was a lack of cinnamon or any flavour what so ever. The caramel sauce was congealed and mediocre and the white chocolate icecream wasn't a knock out.

I feel this chain could definitely step up it's game, what about flavour enhancing the churros, even filling them with sauces galore, garnishing the plate with icing sugar, chocolate, berries anything to brighten up those sad brown churros.

At $20 for this I wont be going back anytime soon.
Denise Trethewey
It was a little hard to get the waiters attention but I can't imagine it being easy with so many people. Other than that wait wasn't too long and sundaes were super tasty!
Izzy Alyce
San churros are always delicious. The white hot chocolate is amazing it tastes just like the dipping sauce but more milky. Great dessert place, it never fails!
Thecoffeemaker
Good place to hangout with friends. Food is good and fairly priced. The coffee is good and the quality of food remains consistent every time we go here. The service is good as well.
San
Regret for bringing my friends over there and let them experienced such bad service in Perth! Worst service I've ever encountered! Went there last night (21 July), was served milkshake with cream by an Asian guy, told him we ordered without cream and he rudely asked if we want him to change it? Was so pissed off when he rudely slammed the changed milkshake on our table and left straight away! What is this?! The other Asian girl was sweet and nice, but kept wanting to take away our empty glasses immediately after our last sip, which we find a bit pushy. I swear that I will not visit this place anymore! I would rather drive the extra miles to another San Churro outlet but this one is a huge disappointment as they never improve in terms of customer servicing. We are paying customers, shouldn't be treated that way when we were being nice to you!
Papillon
This place is huge compare to the few other San Churros I've been to. As soon as you walk in you get seated and told the place is a table service and leave you with the menu. Great! Until you wait and wait and wait. After 20 minutes we had to wave a very frantic staff down so we could order. Very annoying since we were seated right next to the takeaway till so we could have easily ordered ourselves. The hot drinks were good, just like the other stores. The service is a let down. If you're going to do table service maybe allocate staff to sections like a restaurant?
Bite Into It
Worst service I have ever experienced. Never again would I come here again. I think they would have to retrain their staff again or hire more capable staff. No matter how busy it gets the standards should never drop.
FARMERdroo
Delicious as like all the other San churro joints. The one night I went with friends , it was completely packed out! Even so, our desserts came out in a timely manner, my churro were nice hot and crispy

Nothing to fault
Delicious

Didn't even get to order. 3 staff running around trying to serve everyone.
Asked a member of staff to take order who then quickly disappeared and started working on the till. We waited 30 minutes and then left (group of 6). Will head over to Northbridge in future....

Operation and management never seems to improve!! Customer service is a big 'NO' and manager doesn't give a damn of ur complaints at all. Shame on u!! Sucks
Chantelle Hiley
Worst customer service! We were seated at our table with the menus and from then on we're pretty much ignored. Put some more staff on the floor who are happy and willing to help...

Poor customer service. If their music wasn't so loud, they actually might get their orders right. Part of my order was 3 ice creams, all different flavours. .. they bring out 1 cone with three scoops, when I pointed out what I asked for, the correct order came out. ...no apology but 'my manager said you can pay the difference now'...???? Some of the churros was undercooked and the wrong chocolate sauce was sent out. Highly recommend Cockburn for a far better experience.

Ever heard of customer service?. When I arrived here me and my party had to wait at least 10 minutes to be seated. We specifically asked to sit in the back section and were offered a crowded seat in the front. We then had to wait 30 minutes to be served regardless of the fact that we had asked moving waiters if they could serve us next. We were ignored. After waiting 20 minutes for our food- the quickest thing so far I was less than impressed with the taste. Hot chocolate very waterey. Then had to wait 40 minutes in a line to pay. Will not be revisiting. Honestly if it's a Saturday night an you know it is going to be busy have a few more staff on and maybe train them in some manners?
Carpenter.rhiannon
Worst customer service ever!. What an absolute waste of time. Took 15 minutes to get seated, once seated took 20 minutes for someone to serve us. Once served churros came out first and were finished before drinks arrived. Very disappointed and won't be coming back - and I will be spreading the word!!!!!

Awful. Customer service was horrible
Terrible lay out
Food took forever to come out
Food tastes cheap and disgusting
Incredibly over priced for what you get
Line is huge to pay
Fellow customers were changing their baby on the table next to us
Do not recommend will no return.

Terrible. Go to the Leederville Chocolateria San Churro instead
- service is better
- food is better
- drinks are better
- people are nicer
Miss.le
Bad service. Took forever to take our order. Churros was cold, drinks didn't come until after churros was finished. We had a lovely dinner down the road and thought we would finish off the night with coffee and desert. Was a serious let down.
Tammyammyara
Super poor service. Waited more than 30 minutes for someone to serve us, i was wanting to walk out but the person i was with wouldn't let me and eventually went and purchased our order as take away and we ate it there.
everyone around us got served and even when there were only 5 tables seated around us and they were all served and eating (including people that walked in after us) we STILL didn't get served.

the food is good but after that experience ill go to a different branch, never had such poor service.
Hayley.mia
Churros are good....not a fan of the other desserts. Reasonably good value for money. The churros are always fresh and tasty. Service is pretty good. Have encountered one 'snappy' waitress on more than one occasion but the rest of the staff are polite and courteous.

Delicious. When ever I need my chocolate hit.. This place hits the spot :) staff friendly and atmosphere is always buzzing!

Excellent. Everything is excellent nothing at fault

You need to employ more staff. Your food is good. Having a single over worked stressed out waitress for 50+ people is absurd. Lift your game.
Annielamb03
San churron is amazing. San churro is amazing because of its price and quality and the staff are really nice :)

Not all franchises are created equal, and this especially holds true for Chocolateria San Churro. I’ve tried the branches in Northbridge, Leederville, Hillarys and East Vic Park, and the difference in quality is discernible. This review of the East Vic Park franchise is the result of two visits...

The staff did not bother to listen and offer a seat after waiting for a while in the front. So we just walked off, very bad customer service.
Blabbermouth_2
Worse customer service -SHOCKING. We came in and since it was quite empty, we seated ourselves. No ine came to serve us and we had to ask for service. The sorry-excuse-for-a-waiter then proceeded to tell us off, stating that we had to wait to he seated. She continued to berate us by telling us that we couldn't bring outside food (even though our food was clearly doggy bagged and we had no intention to consume it at the premises). We then ordered an ice lemon tea with less sugar and she looked at us like we were idiots, informing us that they couldn't put less sugar as the ice lemon tea was pre made. It's no wonder the venue was empty. Service like this is not acceptable.

Let me tell you about the worse customer service I have ever experienced. Just finished a long day with family and friends and we thought we might end the night at San churros, it use to be a good place to just chill and relax after a long day but that's where we went wrong. We got there just after 9 shop still full with a group of 16 people, big group of people usually brings in good revenue for a business right?? owners would love to have that kinda cash flow in a business. We were greeted with a refusal to serve because it was almost closing time remember it was just after 9 and they close at 10 anyway after a few seconds looking around trying to figure out where she can seat us making us feel that we were an inconvenience to her she seated us without no smile whatsoever. As we just got comfortable she came back over and asked if we were ready to order which we replied with just another few minutes. She came back and asked us for our order and again doing it without a smile. Receiving our orders with at least 20 minutes gap from the first churros to the last drink and we did notice our drinks were sitting on the counter but we were still waiting for one more Lemon ice tea. All the while the waitress were stacking chairs on desk directly around us blocking our view from everything which I consider very rude and inconsiderate. We then signalled another waitress to ask for our last order and this is how the conversation went 'sorry we just waiting for another lemon ice tea' 'I'm sorry we are closed' 'but we've already paid for it' ' I'm sorry but you guys came in late and we can't order any more drinks' 'but we've already ordered it' (at this point tempers were flaring up from both sides) 'you guys came in late and the kitchen is closed !!' 'Well then are you gonna deduct it from the bill??' 'No because you guys came in late and we can't make any more drinks' 'but we've already ordered it!!' 'I'm sorry you guys came in late and we have no glasses that's why we put your drinks in takeaway cups' 'yeah but where's our ice tea' 'it's coming now!!!' She then went to go get our drink which she then slammed on the table and walked away. It's obvious there was a miscommunication on what we were asking for to what she was thinking. if she only let us speak instead of yelling over us then all that could've been avoided. Lastly the 'greeter' came over to us and told us that they are closed! Which I replied 'but I'm still eating?' Our food and drink was still half finished to which we had to get takeaway bags we all walked away and if I had it my way I wouldn't have paid $170+ for such rude inconsiderate service ( I could put a few cuss words there but keeping it PG) San churros vic park was a good place to come chill and relax for dessert but after tonight I can safely say we will never be going back there. What happened to service with a smile?? And what happened to you don't shut shop until the last customer leaves?? i work in customer service and sometimes almost staying an hour back waiting for the last customer to leave. Customers bring you revenue which then pays your wages!! Customers are the most important part of every business you don't have customers you don't have a business full stop! There was no proper customer service tonight worst eating experience I have ever been put through! People that know me know that I'm very very patient, usually bad customer service I just let it go but tonight was different tonight was the worst customer service we have ever experienced!!
Alfred
Nice Service. First time there on a weekday afternoon tea hour. Not much tables occupied, maybe two to three only. Although there's only one staff serving for all customer, the ordering was quick and serving time was reasonable.
Andrew Staker
Pushy service and forced to wait in a pen like cattle. Thumbs down.
Soniaurgel
Rude waiters and overly sweet soggy churros.. I went to this place with my partner, they didn't want to give us a table for 4 that was free, so we sat at a large shared table. We were eating those things they call churros but are not (I am from Spain) when the waiters asked us to move half way through our meal to accommodate a large group. Of course I declined and they crammed them next to us in a way in which they didn't fit. We felt uncomfortable and they did too. Horribly rude!

I love my San Churros. But just like other reviewers, there's a huge problem with customer service. I could honestly tell you that 95% of the time, my order was stuffed up. And it always happen to be done by the same staff member. Staffs were no smiles or polite and always seem impatient even when they've stuffed up our order. Management needs to really do something about this. I've had mostly horrible experiences with this San Churros as compared to others.
Sahar Pak
I am a big fan of San Churro but i had the most irritating experience tonight with a staff member 'Fiona'. The two of us were seated within 10cm of the people on either side of us while the back half of the store was empty!!
I then ordered a pot of tea and asked for an extra tea cup to which she responded that "if I was to give you an extra tea cup then every other customer would want one too" and suggested I grab a water cup! I was in and out within 15mins because i didnt want to stay an extra second...

Delicious dessert and prompt service. This place was very busy on Friday night, but we got a table down the back and were still served promptly. We all enjoyed our Churros, shakes and coffee. It did feel a bit like a noodle house though, all staff were Asian along with 90% of the customers.

Good. Went on a Sat night ... was packed as expected. They do have a system to manage the huge amount of people, so do not expect to be able to choose a table. You will sit where you are told! But the service is really prompt as a result. Was disappointed that the strawberries I added to my sundae for $3 equaled exactly 2 strawberries cut into quarters. Also forgot my BF's cake and needed to ask about its whereabouts. First waiter.... I don't think understood. But the second waiter was pretty prompt to correct. I would go back. Think they did pretty well considering how busy they are.

I fail to understand sitting policy.. Being in the hospitality sector for 7 years, I rarely ever find myself in a position of walking out of a restaurant. Yet after my visit here in the evening, me and my girlfriend walked out after a frustrating experience. Half the section of the restaurant was closed for seating (I assume management lacks a brain) and the only half available for seating was at no-excess capacity. Managed to be seated at a table by a waiter, who promptly disappeared when we were ready to order. 10 minutes after, we were told to move to another table which was only about two tables away, by a random waiter who wanted to sit a table of 3 - something of which I did not understood as the sitting capacity remained the same. We however, decided to obliged to make the waiter's life a little easier.

As we sat down at the other table which was directed by the waiter, again we were ready to order yet we were not given service nor was my calls for order heeded by any wait staff. Another 5 minutes go by and a young asian lady wait staff approached us again, to ask us to move tables - this time to a very packed corner of which other patrons had to move for us to be able to sit down, chair almost touching chair, shoulder next to another stranger's shoulder. Mind you this was with HALF the entire restaurant left unseated.

Another 5 minutes passed and we were still unable to get service to make order. The lady that moved us from table to table, promptly disappeared right after asking us to move without taking a bother to ask for our orders, and ignoring my request for orders to sit newly walked in patrons.

Needless to say we were frustrated, and very uncomfortable being tightly squeezed with strangers. Definitely one of the worst service experiences I've ever had, with the dumbest restaurant policy of keeping half the restaurant empty and unseated and unavailable, whilst making the lives of their patrons so inconvenient and uncomfortable in trying to pack them like sardines in a can in only a smaller area - which whilst doing so completely failed with regards to even take orders from their patrons.

If any management staff reads this, please do explain to me why because I truly cannot understand, why keep half your restaurant empty and the other half at no-excess capacity whilst squeezing your patrons uncomfortably and spending so much time and effort in that ignoring just basic service?
Pinar-kalkan94
Good service. İ totally disagree with the negative comments here. İve been coming here for a while now and havent had anything to complain about. Everything always comes on time no matter how busy it is, friendly staff and good quality food. Deffinantly will be back asap! (y)

Horrible service , rude , a disappointing experience. I loooove San Churros. Such a terrific place to take friends and family. There are so many terrific ones all around Australia. This is the worst one in the entire nation. 3 times they brought out the wrong food. They got it right the fourth time by pouring the icing sugar over the TOP of the cinnamon that wasn't suppose to be on the churros in the first place . Lazy ! The staff were rude and unapologetic . Poorly run franchise with no management or operational skills. Then after all of the different mistakes they made they tried to shuffle us all along while we were still eating . Not our fault you kept messing up . Would never ever dine there again and will make sure to voice this further

This chocolateria makes the best Sundaes! Its always busy but they turn over tables quickly so you don't normally wait too long. I am there at least once a week. I tried the Sundaes at the other branches but they are not as good as Vic Park.

Never again. I was so excited that a San churro was opening up in my neighbourhood. After three strikes though I won't be going back. Every time the service has been terrible and they've got the order wrong, wait time were massive and orders have come out with over 10mins apart. There's lots of hidden costs too. We were charged extra for changing the flavour of icecream we wanted in a dessert! Why, when they still need to scoop it out? Strawberries were rotting too. Such a shame because I've had great experiences at other outlets, where the wait time was long, but the orders were correct, looked like the menu, came out together and were delicious. There are waaaay too many awesome cafés in vic park to bother going back to this one!

Great food abysmal customer service. After visiting here several times it amazes me that each time the customer service has declined. first up we were seated to two adjoining tables then imeadialtley told to split the table incase more people show up. the waitress then left and did not return for another 15 minutes when we called her over to take out order. we asked why it took soo long to get to us as it was busy and the waiter rudley told us it was our fault for not getting her! She then arrogantly took our order while continuing to complain that we should have called her not her serve us. unfortunately the great product here is overshadowed by terrible service and being totally disorganized!

Lots of new yummy treats since the last time I was at San Churros. The serving sizes are quite large and packed full of chovolatety goodness!

Went twice in 2 days, the second day the spanish hot chocolate was served very runny. Sent it back to have it remade and it came back just as runny!! Won't be going back for a while. They need to employ more staff if they can't keep up with the orders.

Food, here always takes so long & comes out wrong. I've been here 3x and each time it's stuffed up. Never again.

There is a lack of communication between store management, frontline employees and customers.
Tone used to deliever clarification to our table was rude and pretentious.
Will not be visiting this San Churros branch again

Desserts are awesome!!!!!!!. Nice coffee, tasty desserts!
Strongly recommend to try the choc volcano cake, choc bana sundae and the thick thick spanish hot choc.
Many seats but always full^^

Too busy!. Went here on Thursday night and it was absolutely packed. We ordered drinks, churros for one and a sharing churros. The drinks and churros for one arrived within 15 minutes, however 30 minutes after these were all finished the sharing churros were still not on the table. We left! If you can't cope with large amounts of people then please do not seat them!

Awesome Spanish hot chocolate and tasty churros to go with it! Although it tookat least 15mins for it to be brought to the table and had to line up to order for 5+ minutes! but if you have time to wait it's well worth it!!And they are doing a promotion of double churro in June!

I went there with my husband on a friday night. It was an extremely busy and crowded cafe.We waited 5 minutes for getting a table. Finally they have the chocolate volcano cake which it was always sold out quickly. The cake was so delicious and sweet.Overall,Good Atmosphere and friendly staff:)

I went here tonight and I wish I didn't because I was crammed in between 2 couples that sounded like they were on first dates and my food took forever to come out I wish I got pho instead

Sort out the service and I will be back. You cant go wrong with chocolate and sweets, so i will keep coming back... BUT the service needs an overhaul. Told we could sit somewhere then asked to move by different staff 3 times. Waited 45 minutes for my mums banana cup (it was an outing for her birthday) only for it to come out as a sundae (after asking for it twice)... And then when i returned with friends for a cuppa that evening my 'decaf' turned out to be caffeinated, despite me checking when it turned up at the table. Sigh... thriving and great addition to the strip, but something needs to be done about the staff.
Emily
My friend and I been waiting for our dark chocolate for over 30 mins. And it keep giving a wrong order to our table . Dislike it.

Poor Quality Fruit. A very busy, full restaurant tonight. Staff were great, service was okay. confusing when paying for the bill. Ordered a fruit fondu for two and a classic spanish chocolate. The fruit in the fondu was poor quality. Strawberries had rotting pieces on them, pineapple had hard core pieces instead of the fleshy part. The dipping chocolate was cold. The classic spanish chocolate was too rich and we had to take it away for our girls. Expensive for what we got. Not happy with this particular store. Fremantle is better. the best fondu we have tasted is at the Margaret River Chocolate Company in Swan Valley. The one tonight is a pitiful excuse for one. Not the first time we have had poor quality food from here. Won't be going back.

Have some dirt with your dessert. Took to long to get seated. When seated we were crammed next to someone who smelt and our table was dirty.. The waiter then just wiped everything on to the floor.. Overall average, expensive, dirty and stunk

Poor service. Drinks came out well after the food. First try and I won't be going back.

Awesome but under staff!. Favourite and weekly place for my sweet tooth, but do not go in the afternoon! Go in the evening or night when there are more staffs working. There were twice when I was there around 12-1pm where there were only two girls working. Waited longer than expected for my order but I didn't want to complain to the two poor girls that are working so hard trying to serve so many customers. I always try to go in the nights when there are lots of staffs working. Nonetheless, food and drinks are awesome!
Meggsie73
Another Franchise NO GO!. We visited here last week with our children thinking Kids will love this....WRONG!! The most expensive piece of sugar we've ever tasted. Kids wanted Gelato, so they got a 1 scoop cone...well thank goodness it was just one scoop. My children (8 & 6 yrs) could not finish their icecream because it was TOO SWEET. My kids NEVER deny icecream. This is not Gelato at all...its just too sugary and sweet, you cannot taste the flavour its supposed to be. We also ordered a hot chocolate, when we asked for cream, we were charged and extra 80c for whipped up artificial muck! And the charges kept flowing for strawberries on the side, marshmallows etc etc. I don't know anywhere that doesn't serve hot chocolate without marshmallows as a given!! As for the Churros, they were awful, sugar coated dough....didn't taste like anything!! Do yourself a favour and walk a little further up to Tutti Frutti....much nicer!

Sweet. Whenever I see the sign Chocolateria San Churro ,I have to stop even if I am on a diet .This sign remind me to live every day like that is your last day so you cant miss it.

I've walked past a few Chocolateria San Churro stores before however only decided to try it out recently whilst travelling in WA. Not knowing what to order, I've decided to order the chocolate and churro tapas Yummmm! Talking about afternoon sugar hit. Love everything on the plate and will definitely recommend to anyone wanting an indulgence. The place is welcoming and clean. Staff are friendly, they don't rush you to place an order even when the place is busy. Great experience!

Yummmmmmmmmmy. Great coffee and great treats to eat, as a chocolate lover found myself in heaven, will go back next time I am in the area

Chocolate Delight!. I was passing and thought I'd give it a try and I'm glad I did. Great service and wonderful cakes and deserts enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee. It's a definite return for me! I loved it!

Chocolate Love. Wanted to head for coffee after some shopping but couldn't help stopping at San Churro. Opted for the classic fondue for two and it was just amazing, almost didn't want to share and made it fondue for one! If you love rich chocolate and churros, this place is a must

Chocolate Heaven. I had the Spanish hot chocolate with the marshmellows and choc syrup wow what a flavour hit, best drink i'v ever had. My friend had cookies and cream cheesecake and was totally knocked out by it. Is certainly the place to enjoy everything chocolate. Am back in Perth in July so I will certainly be there again,

SanChurro. Yummo my favourite chocolate here is hazelnut filled it is absolutely delicious and goes perfect with a piping hot satisfying coffee. I would not have found this chocolate had I not been told by the lovely staff member behind the counter what the award winning chocolate. I frequent the Fremantle store and it is a very lovely restaurant in the very happening cool cappucino strip. I simply recommend all chocolate lovers try this cafe.
Sallyanne_stevens
The best chocolate around. I absolutely fell in love with San Churro, and this restaurant. It's a magnificent concept with so much to choose from on their vivid menu. The chocolate dipping churros were to die for. Great work guys

Love to pop by this place after dinner in the Vic Park vicinity.

Delicious chocolate, churros and drinks, although a little inconsistent at times. Good service, though some times the wait staff may get your order(s) wrong and just be prepared to wait a little longer if the place happens to be packed. Menus seem to change over seasons, but the favourites seem to stay in place! :)

Great place and atmosphere to have a coffee & dessert with friends.
Wunmulla
Always bad service. I hate coming here and I only do it because of the kids. The wait time is ridiculous to even get a seat, they put on minimal staff to try and service 150+. The most frustrating thing is - IT NEVER CHANGES and I get so angry that we come here - who's the idiot ME!!!

-----19 Mar, 2014-----

Very disappointing again. East Vic Park San Churros are letting the other Perth franchises down. The service is slow and awkward, there is no flexibility in what you order, however at the Subi and Fremantle stores I found them very accommodating. A small thing but we were given one serviette to share between 3 people. Going away feeling very disappointed as this is the second time I have experience the same from this particular place. Need to lift your game people. Not sure if I will come back and I certainly will not be recommending it to others. Rather make the trip to Subi.

One of the best. Good food, even better drinks and friendly service. Always impresses with how efficient the staff are. Will definitely be coming back for more. 10/10 A+++

Good ambience, great and friendly service but the coffee is not good

Love it. Amazing churros!

Such a great venue! Very pleasant staff, great atmosphere, nicely laid out store. This shop brings life into a normally dreary vic park!! If you want great food, and to see some sstaff who genuinely enjoy their job then this is the place for you!!

I L.O.V.E this place and am so happy one opened up closer to home. My boyfriend/friend(s) and I always drop by after dinner for some oh so yummy chocolatey desserts and we're always treated like family by the staff! If you've never been before I recommend you go and try the sundaes (they're sooo good!) and you can never go wrong with the churros!

Awesome place. Delicious dessert & super friendly service. Accomodating with requests too.

Try an affogato and change the ice cream to salted caramel. It's $1 but soooo good!

Delicious Desserts. It is great that San Churro has opened in Vic Park. We went on a Saturday night. The atmosphere was awesome. The decor is bright and colourful. There was so much choice on the menu. We had yummy ice cream, hot chocolates and our all time favourite Churros. The staff were friendly and it was great service. We will definitely be going back.
Food 2 Run
New in Vic Park and decked out really well... Took 3 kids to this place and compared to other places in the area price was pretty good for drinks and choc... Staff still a little new but with time will be super... Heaps of room to sit and relax as well...

Won't come back. Very UNIMPRESSED with this new chocolateria San Churro - We have been to many different San Churro's, and this by far is the worst ever!! Refused to let us change the chorro's in the banana sundae to brownie pieces (I always do this at other stores due to allergy) Then I asked for no nuts, so also got no cream... Then the Banana was disgusting, it had bruises all over it and was over ripe, and the whole sundae was pretty small. We have ordered this at so many different Chocolateria San Churro places and never has it been bad. Also waitresses couldn't understand English properly, or speak fluently. We will never return here - all the other places will get our business instead!
Jellee Babee
The place is new and really needs to get its act together. The staff are friendly but clueless esp when it comes to gluten-free options. Also they're nowhere near as accommodating as the Subi Hillarys Leederville Freo or Northbridge stores.(yes we've beeb to all of them) for eg, their milkshakes are too big for the average child to have on their own but when I asked them to split it over 2 smaller cups, they said they couldnt. No reason given.
Also any place that sets a minimum $10 spend before you can use Eftpos turns me off right away. None of the other stores we've visited have this stupid rule so i think we'll just vote with our feet and steer clear of this money-hungry, inflexible outlet in future.

I am a big fan when it comes to San Churros' yummy chocolate goodness. And now, there is another reason for me to love San Churros even more! For the month of June San Churros are offering DOUBLE churros for FREE simply by checking into your local San Churros store on Facebook!
