We ordered the sushi sashimi bento which is marvelous. It got everything in there like a treasure box. It includes soup, salad, sushi, sashimi, tempura. Must try.
My favourite Cheap-and-cheerful Japanese place in Vic Park - when you want inexpensive sushi fix it's the best on the strip. Very good quality for the price.
Great for takeaway, bug portions and fast. Sushi is very good and the price is very affordable. I just tried the lunch special but I'll go back to try more dishes.
Love this little place! Food is fantastic! Fresh, fast and very well priced! They do an amazing curry udon noodle which is super tasty and cheap! The sushi is delicious too! Would highly recommend especially for lunch.
We went here for dinner last night and it was perfect! Great food and tasty!! We had entree and main meal and I’m so happy that it was not overpriced like other places. Friendly staff and delicious food!
Awesome sushi! Love the chicken teriyaki set with miso soup. Have been coming here for a long time, still the best place to go for sushi. Definitely give it a go
Kabuki Vic Park is by far my favourite place in Perth to get Sushi! I have been coming here for years and not once have I had a bad experience here. The food is delicious and fresh!! Miso and chicken teriyaki sets are the best.
Highly recommend!! : )
I’ve been coming here for over 5 years and it’s my partner’s favourite udon joint. I never gave a review because I didn’t fancy the place as much, until now. I had the Chicken Katsu Curry and I was instantly converted. The curry was nice and thick, chicken breaded and crumbled nicely, and a good portion of rice. Although it’s not a wow looking meal, but it feels like home...
Amazing food and incredibly fast service!! Such a hidden gem in vic park which is super affordable. Ordered a large serving of sushi and got approx 8-10 pieces (can’t remember specifics but it was more than your standard large serving). The raw fish/meat tasted very fresh and was filling. Special shoutout to the beef tataki which was only $7 and hands down the best beef tataki I have ever had (beats hanami in mt Lawley). Will definitely be coming back asap!!
A hidden gem. The looks are deceiving but this place has some affordable quality Japanese food. Yes, dining experience is not the best and it can improve but I got good value for my money. Tried the katsu don and it was yummy and generous (warning, this is enough for one hungry person). Also tried the beef tataki (yum!) and the deep fried tofu on broth (very well prepared), they did not disappoint at all. Food presentation is decent and staff is friendly. I highly recommend this place... Double thumbs up!
Had the salmon and avocado sushi freshly made! Great sushi, one of the better ones down in Vic Park! The girl at the front counter is super sweet and very friendly too
Really good for a weeknight takeaway. I usually have a basic teriyaki chicken or salmon option here and haven't tried much else. Fast and friendly but not somewhere you would sit for long.
This place has yummy noodle dishes, the ramen is killer! Really good value and the staff and very friendly. It's not the most amazing venue or decor but totally worth a visit!
Been going to this place for at least 6 years. The tempura prawn rolls and the salmon don kick ass. Please please please consider a delivery option.
My trusted go to Japanese restaurant with the best prices!
Usually for pick up; always call ahead :)
Mix sushi & salmon sushi is always nice and fresh (in the evening. Don't usually go in the day).
And the oyakodon is really yummy too.
Place isn't big at all so dine in can get busy.
Overall; definitely worth its price!
Great value for money! Usually order for pick up. The food is consistently good and reliable. The servings are generous. Our staple orders are katsu don chicken, katsu curry chicken, chicken teriyaki and California roll are always a safe bet for a lovely meal. Service is quick and pleasant. Decor is fairly basic.
Although there aren't many vegetarian dishes here, the ones that are available are mindblowing. The tofu with miso sauce is definitely worth a try.
Came here for lunch craving some ramen, the broth was tasty and the portion sizes are decent. Tried thr karrage chicken, katsudon and chicken ramen. All were nice regular japanese affair. A place to visit if youre in the area.
T8wy May 2016:
1. Beef Udon. 3.5/5.0, Nice-ish. need to compare to Beef Udon from other Jap food places.
2. Tempura Fish Roll. 4.5/5.0. Very Good Sushi, One of the best sushi I've ever had, tempura fish was crispy. That said, I haven't had many sushi yet.
3. Tempura Prawn Roll. 4.5/5.0. Very Good Sushi, along with the Tempura Fish Roll above, one of the best sushi I've ever had, it was crispy and fresh.
4. Avocado Roll. 3.0/5.0. Just OK. Nothing special.
5. Rainboll Roll. 4.0/5.0. Good Sushi. Like the way the salmon melts in mouth :)
6. Teriyaki Chicken Donburi. 3.0/5.0. Just OK, nothing special, the chicken was crispy, which is good.
Craving Katsu on Friday night and wanted to try somewhere different to the usual Osaka. Decided to get take away Katsu and it was quite good! Large serve, crispy chicken and sauce was kept separate so we could poor our own on which was great for to keep the chicken really crispy. The sauce flavour was a little bit sour but tasted so good on the chicken. Cheap and fast, will be back!
Reasonable price, quick service, good portion, and tasty. What can u ask more? I ordered a set menu of chicken karaage that came with salad, rice, and miso soup for only $12.00. The karaage was crispy but not dry. They also gave a generous amount of sauce which went really well with the chicken. For the price that I paid, it was superb.
10/10 for cheap and tasty sushi and teriyaki donburi! Chicken curry is also packed with flavour but super filling! Perfect for sushi on the run, i keep them on my speed-dial!
Ordered the chicken teriyaki which was really good! Small little restaurant which I like, and I would definitely recommend coming here for some good Japanese dishes.
Got a takeaway tuna nigiri and it was SO good! Fresh and you definitely got your moneys worth with big slabs of tuna! Would recommend, and will be back
My favorite Japanese resto in Vic Park. Love love their ramen and beef teriyaki. Their sushi in packs is not their strongest point but I still live this place. Big servings specially their curry rice meals. If you love rice they serve a lot. I mean a lot of it.
The Victoria Park food strip has a wide range of Asian cuisines and Kabuki Japanese restaurant is just one of the places that can guarantee you an authentic taste. Great customer service and the servings for $10+ were reasonable. I just think that they could serve the dishes in proportion with the rice it comes with because there seemed to be a lot of rice left over (particularly with the unagi) Overall, very tasty and huge servings of food ranging from ramen, sushi and rice bowls.
Really good Chicken and Avocado sushi rolls, plus they can make rolls to order.
As a side note, they always have exceptional presentation with their dine in dishes.
I give 4/5 to the KATSU CURRY UDON that the restaurant cooks. My friend who coincidently tried it before also said the same thing. Very tantalizing curry flavour which leaves me coming back for more everytime, and it is also somewhat at a reasonable price of $12. My friend tried the salmon bento set and was satisfied with food also. I was however a bit disappoint with the chicken karrage which tasted somewhat average. But still, the sensation of the hot curry served during winter time is unforgettable..
Yum yum yum!!. My Neighbour recommended I try kabuki, so I got tori koroke, beef teriyaki with rice and katsu chicken curry udon . I am in love! So cheap and so tasty . Will be trying the sushi next time :)
Good little takeaway joint. Drop in and grab a bite of Japanese. Good portion sizes as well. We'll definitely be back. Parking can be a bit of a problem.
A regular favourite of ours. Consistent high quality sushi (especially the Katsu chicken and avocado rolls) and lovely service :)
Kabuki has a special place in my heart.. This place is my go-to when I want to eat something delicious at a reasonable price. I love this place so much not only because the food is AMAZING - fresh, tasty, authentic tasting - but also because it is CONSISTENT. When I have a craving for avocado and cucumber rolls and beef udon I know exactly how it's going to taste and the taste is never off. The sushi (when made fresh from the menu - cold sushi is gross) is wonderful and never disappoints. The beef udon is so flavourful and feels nourishing and satisfying to eat. The katsu chicken curry whether with rice or udon is a huge serve and is simply delish. If you're in the area this is the place for quality Japanese at a really good price.
Always so good. Kabuki is a long time favourite. Staff are always friendly, food is always quality and delicious (especially the cucumber and avocado sushi) and very reasonably priced, too. Thanks for all the good lunches, Kabuki :- )
Value for money. Good serving sizes for a good price. Food overall taste nice, not the best in Perth but I would come again.
Ordered a chicken udon and I was let down by the udon noodles. the noodles used aren't very nice but the soup and chicken tasted good.
Gyoza's was very nice except they were on the small side for serving size.
Absolutely True. I agree with many of the reviews about Kabuki Japanese. Although it is a small restaurant with simple decoration, but it's ambient give a very welcoming feeling. The foods are very fresh and absolutely tasty.
This has become one of my regular dining places and i strongly recommend you to try it out. I may see you there one day.....:)
Yummy. The food here yummy n not expensive. We will drop by here when we aren't sure what to have.
Nice takeaway place and cheap... Chicken Curry was really nice, on the strip in Vic Park can't beat it...
Great place. Love the sushi over there. You guys have to try the tempura fish roll. It is delicious!!!
Had a beautiful dinner tonight for two for under $40. Food was terrific, especially the snow rolls but c'mon can't they provide a glass of water, some cutlery and maybe a plate to eat off?
Fresh & Delicious Japanese. Kabuki is great! Try the agadashi-tofu!! YUM or the teriyaki Fish which is lovely.
Good value.... Always quick, always fresh, always pleasant. I can pre-order and pick-up in less than 10 minutes most times. Sometimes there's a little too much packed into the takeaway boxes and it ends up squashed! But at least you get your fill. Tasty.
I love this place, we would travel on a weekly basis from karrinyup to vic park just to have this sushi. It's made fresh to order and it's consistantly good. I definitely recommend it!
Fantastic sushi! In fact, Kabuki serves the best sushi I have ever eaten. Just make sure you take the time to order it fresh, and don't be afraid of a little wasabi and ginger either as it all comes together so well. I personally recommend katsu chicken sushi roll with avocado, but it's all excellent. There is honestly no better sushi in Perth.
* Edited two years later to add a score. It's still the best around.
Very pleasant!. For the type of restaurant it is, it's very good.
Casual, quiet, the food is hot, there's plenty of it, it tastes great, service was reasonable and food came out fast.
Can't complain about it at all :) Was great for us to drop in for lunch.
Great sushi :). Ordered a heap of mixed sushi platters for my sushi and cocktail housewarming party back in May/June this year. Granted the owner is not Japanese but the sushi was fantastic and everyone loved it. It's definitely not one of those 'pretend' places that serve chinese tasting jap food.. I would recommend this place for sure.
Tasty!. Kabuki is fantastic! We go here all the time for Japanese take away, the staff are always very friendly and although not as cheap as other Japanese take aways in the area, it’s always worth it because the food tastes better! I assume the ingredients used are probably better quality than cheaper venues. Either way, if you are after a relatively authentic, very tasty Japanese experience I wouldn’t go past Kabuki.
Nice little jap takeaway. I go to Kabuki every now and then when I am lazy to cook and want some comfort food but never a big fan of them. Since I tried Kuza, the new japanese store opposite Kabuki, I realised that Kabuki is actually doing very well. Their price is only around 30-50% of Kuza's and the food is 100% better. Dont get me wrong, I am not saying Kabuki produces very good food, but definitely better than Kuza. This is only because Kuza's food is really bad. Made me avoid Japanese food for a while....
I am chef from mandurah ... Every time I go down to city I always go to kabuki food very nice $$$$ I love rainbow roll, veggie tempura roll .,, Yaki udon is the best in Perth.. Nice staff specially the fat chef lol...
Good for takeaway Japanese. Not bad tempura, sashimi ok, teriyaki salmon a bit dry.
Not good food any more! :(. I used to be a regular of this place but the food really has gone downhill. Maybe they have changed the chef? Last few meals ordered didn't seem fresh. Terriyaki beef tasted like it had been left sitting out in the heat (a bit off). Sweet and sour chicken didn't seem fresh either, it was quite dry.
Now on the hunt for a new Japanese place with quality reasonably priced meals.
Good. Kabuki is a good cheap quality takeaway. Tampuri fish sushi is best
Standard pre-made takeaway sushi rolls in the fridge. If you have the time, order some freshly made sushi. It comes out on a platter and the rice is still all warm and soft. A million times better than cold and hard out of the fridge. Service is non existent but worth a visit for a healthy cheap feed of freshly rolled sushi!
I wish they would clean the place up it a bit though. At least just throw out the filthy broken paper folding screen. Honestly, some places have no idea how to quickly and cheaply give a place ambiance!
Best teriyaki chicken in Perth! Yum! Drive 20 mins for lunch for this delicious food.. A must try!!
Surprising. Nice to have fresh Japanese for a change. The service was not the best and there seemed to be only one chef and one waitress, the food took a while to come but was very pleasing. Quality meat and sea food was used and prices were good for value.
I will try not to get theatrical about Kabuki. After living in Japan for 18 months I thought that I had eaten all of the sushi that I would ever eat in my life. I had bought sushi from several places in Perth and none of them compare to the sushi in Japan. That is until my boyfriend (now husband) introduced me to Kabuki. I haven't bought sushi from anywhere else since, and I'm not willing to try anywhere else now.
Great~!. This place is a value for money place. For this price, I can enjoy reasonably authentic sushi and sashimi. The only drawback is the limited selection, else I would be returning here at every opportunity. :)
AMAZINGG JAPANESE FOOD!!!^_^. Ok two words... SASHIMI & SNOW SUSHI ROLL!!! I just moved to Vic Park and at first I tried the other Japanese restaurants because they looked more apealing from the shop front. But when I finally got around to trying Kabuki I was blown away by how amazing and fresh the sushi was. I didn't know could taste anymore amazing than I had already experienced, and now nothing else compares!
The snow roll is similar to Californian Roll, except better! I strongly STRONGLY suggest EVERYONE to try this.
Also this is the first place I ever tried Sashimi. I was scared of raw salmon but I gave it a go and NOW IM HOOKED!
About to get some more now will upload some photos.
Thanks (if u read this far lol) x
Sushi to die for. My personal fav is chicken teriyaki sushi from Kabuki! So fresh the chicken is still warm and there are no bones or gristly bits like most chicken teriyaki sushis

Love love love this place. Food always great service always fast! Also very cheap!
Tempura Prawn Roll - must try!. I love this restaurant. Service is fast and you definitely get what you paid for - i.e., the food is 'value for money'.
I am a fan of the Salmon & Avocado and the Tempura Prawn Roll. The chicken sushi is also a good item to try.
Unlike many other Japanese restaurants, the owner fills his sushi rolls with lots of ingredients so it is essentially more 'meat' than rice.
Yum $ authentic. My partner and I love this place! It's so cheap and the food is made fresh and tastes delicious!
The chicken sushi roll is a favorite of ours and we can't go in there without order some. My husband always orders the Salmon Don and is happy every time.
It's very casual, very cheap and delicious.
GIVE IT A GO!
Cheap and cheerful and also surprisingly good food.
Can't go past this one. Low prices, good food, and excellent range of choices with the new menu. Very basic service but hey, it's a budget restaurant!
Definitely give this place a shot! It might not look like much from the outside, but the affordable and delicious food will make your tummy very happy indeed.
THE Best!!. This place is a total winner! The price is so cheap (especially compared to other places that are supposed to be good) and you can't beat the food here.
Authentic Japanese where every dish is prepared fresh.
It's a more of a take away set up although you can dine in. Service is as you would expect in a place like this (decent enough). Think the word is spreading as it's pretty busy all the time.
Go the tempura - super crunchy and delish.
Kabuki-lishes. I live close to this place and visit about once a week. It's cheap, it's fresh, it's generous and the service is good.
I really recommend the Salmon Don.
Kabuki-licious!. Very affordable and authentic, the beef udon is the best in Perth. Good for takeaway and dining in (although there is limited seating).
Also try the tato yaki (octopus balls), prawn tempura sushi rolls and vegetable tempura - crispeee!
Cheap and quick. Food is pretty good as well. Had takeaways and dined in, i recommend the kimchi gyoza special.
Large portion, flavour all good. Just the rice, which has a long way to improve.
Lovely little place.
Delicious and affordable takeaway options.
Kind service too.
Will 100% go again
We enjoyed a casual dinner at Kabuki with the chicken udon, tempura prawn sushi and pork gyoza. The tempura prawn sushi was especially nice as the rice and prawn was still warm in comparison to the rainbow roll in which the sushi rice was cold and a bit harder. All in all would come back again ☺️
Consistently good Japanese food that is reasonably priced. They offer takeaway or dine in. The seating is pleasant and meals are delivered to the table. Staff are friendly and helpful. The miso soup is particularly good here. The sets are good value and include a protein, rice, miso soup and salad. I can highly recommend the chicken or fish teriyaki.
My favourite local Japanese by far. Always fast and friendly service, great price and generous serving sizes. Great options for vegetarians also.
Amazing food. Although it will be nicer if gakeaway containers don't cost anything. Hehe 😊
But nice and yummy.
