We love this place! The staff (especially Raj) make you feel like part of the family. Food is always delicious too. Just wish we lived closer! Highly recommend!
First time trying this place and went for a takeaway, prawn pakora to start was excellent and fresh, our main curries were both well cooked and great taste and spice. They use breast of chicken which makes a change to the usual fatty thigh that other restaurants tend to use.
Naan, poppadom and rice were also fresh and hot and excellent value for money, looking forward to trying the rest of the menu!
Visited Essence of India yesterday and had a beautiful dinner there.
You get warm and very friendly welcome at entering this restaurant by the owner. We tried various dishes and all were full of flavour with fresh ingredients and the portions are very generous. Great thing is that you can enjoy your meal with tap beer.
Would highly recommend this place.

Consistently good!. This is our local Indian take-away and we've found it consistently good/above average! We've ordered several dishes and haven't been disappointed with the menu variety and food quality.

DELIGHTFUL LUNCH & GREAT SERVICE. Went to Essence of India, Kinross with friends for lunch a month ago with a voucher and was treated by a young man in a chef or cook's uniform with absolute poor attitude and food were served half cold and we left with disgust and great disappointment.
Yesterday husband & I went there for lunch and was greeted by a young lady with a friendly and welcoming smile. She led us to a table, had a nice chat with us, brought us water then excused herself to attend to new arrival customers before returning to our table to take our order, a very attentive staff and her name is Preeti.
Food we ordered were abosuluetly awesome
Great food, great service we really cannot ask for more!
We'll be back again for lunch, and also their Wednesday and Thursday buffet dinner some time soon.

Good food, good value!. Went there tonight for dinner with the family. The food was delicious and servings very generous with plenty of meat in the dishes. The owner/chef appears to get joy out of pleasing his customers and likes to mingle with them. It's the best Indian in the northern coastal suburbs that I know of and great value. I'll be back!
Great food. Had a take away last night, was very nice. It took about half an hour for it to be ready, which is about normal. The lamb rogan josh was lovely, very tasty sauce and the lamb was very tender; much better than at other take aways. The naans were lovely and soft, and it came with free popadoms. Would highly recommend!
Superb local. So much in agreement with the review below that I lazily copied and pasted here. Just worried lately that my local could get too popular and one day I might not get a table. I can honestly say with confidence that this is up there with the best of them. I won't go anywhere else for Indian food. The food is excellent, venue is beautifully presented and the owners are ALWAYS so welcoming and polite. Highly recommended.

Just moved around the corner. Very reasonably priced and the lamb korma was really really nice. The garlic naans could use a bit of work but I will certainly be back
Dined in and have had numerous take aways, never once had a bad meal, always tasty, fresh and reasonably prices.
Best Indian food in the northern suburbs! Moved away from Kinross a while ago but still find time to go there for takeaway or a birthday dinner. Fantastic atmosphere and service.
I had eaten at the Essence of twice prior to tonight and had thought it was ok, however tonight's meal was outstanding!! Had family over from the UK and took them for the last night of their stay and they couldn't believe we hadn't taken them there before tonight. Great food, and nice service too - especially pleased to have the chef come out for a chat and ask if all was ok. 10/10

Worth the visit. I went to the Essence for a friends 50+ birthday with nine family and friends. I live locally but had never tried this place. I was pleasantly suprised by first of all good (for Perth) service, the waitress managed to get all the meals and condiments correct first time. There was not the usual ling wait followed by the customary WA 'sorry for the wait'
The dishes all came out at the same time - I cannot stand the Perth very common practice of serving members of the same group at 5 or 10 minute intervals. But here it was all good. Sure the riata came a few minutes later but thats fine. people didn't need it till then anyway!
The food was very good. I had to ask myself is it as good as the Kabalason in Joondalup? it certainly came close. The only thing I can say I would like to see changed is to identify the dishes. We usually share all our food so all dishes go in the centre, but six of them looked very identical. It did get a little confusing for the 'mild only' people. But one very good thing that very rarely happens nowadays is that the manager came to our table afterwards to ask if all was ok. he asked if there were any ways they could improve and if we would ever visit again We give him good feedback and told him we would return. if only more restaurants would do the same and act on the feedback instead of relying on the endless supply of new customers.
All in all the essence is reasonably priced and with BYO, a nice atmosphere and good service I definitely recommend it.
Wow, what a fantastic little Resturant that serves great tasty curry with lots of meat and not just sauce. The byo option makes it a great night out with some friends and its in the entertainment book too so try it out.

This is the best curry house that we've tried, and we've tried a few!!! Coming from Birmingham 8 years ago this is the first place we've found with consistently great tasting curries, starters and naans.
It has just recently undergone renovations and it has a lovely ambiance - I've posted a photo.

Finally an Indian I can Enjoy. Having moved to Perth from London a year ago I had just about given up on finding a decent Indian restaurant. The decor isn't stunning but it is pleasant and the staff welcoming. At the end of the day if the food is worth it I'll go there and this place finally satisfied my Indian food craving. The korma was just the right consistency and flavour, the chicken tikka masala was delicious, the mushroom rice and garlic naan were amazing and both my husband (who is a fussy Indian eater) and I both agreed it was top class. The meat was proper meat, not cheap junk covered in sauce and the service was fast. We will certainly be going there again and again. Compliments to the chef ! If I could ask one thing it would be that you add a cheese naan to your menu, that would just be the icing on the cake.

Very good. Food is great, service friendly and amiable, prices reasonable. We go here every time, whether to sit in or take away. Buffet night is very good value. Top place.
Simply GOOD. Been in Perth for 4 years now and have had my fair share of curries in and around London in a previous life .
Really like this place. The decor is not overly flash but the food more than makes up for it. The owner /chef seems like a nice chap too and I have had him come out of the kitchen a couple of times to ask me how my meal was and any feedback I had for him. Very Old School
Reasonable priced for perth considering that its good. On a par if not better than GOGO's and JESSE's in town.

Get down on a Wednesday night to sample the buffet! The dishes change week to week but all is quality! Have been coming here for a couple of years now...recommended to call ahead.

Great Food. Havent eaten at the Restaurant, but always have our takeaways from there and never disappointed with the food, recommend it to everyone, tried the Glasgow Curry House and didnt like it!
The best 'English' style Indian around. Good value too. Well worth a visit.

I believe this Indian restauranr take away has been here for quite some time and yet we were oblivious to it.
This is the second time we have had a banquet takeaway from here and both times they have been fantastic.
We do have our very favourite Indian restaurant in the Northern Suburbs, but let me say, this is a very very very close second.
The best Indian I have had in ages! The chef is lovely and everyone is very welcoming. I can't recommend this place highly enough. Amazing food and wine! we had the Korma, rogan Josh, Dahl and tikka.
I was asked to come check out this restaurant by friends who absolutely loved the food . It was a bargain all you can eat for under $30 . Not sure if they still do it . For the price definitely worth it
