Review Bagels And Beans - Perth

Maree Bujdegan
Great place for nice coffee and bagels. Would have liked to see a cinnamon or fruit bagel for sweet choice as well as blueberry. Overall choice of savoury bagels was excellent. And selection of bagel fillings for sandwiches was great. Pity it's not open after 3pm but totally understandable because it's open so early.

My one stop Coffee place to go for last 7 years! They have that unique taste and blend in coffee which became quintessential of a West Perth day for me. Can't recommend highly enough Gary and his team.

The best coffee in West Perth hands down, been coming here for 3 years and its second to none. The bagels are worth the money, and Gary the owner makes the effort to remember your name for a personal touch.

Friendly staff, lovely atmosphere with beautifully decorated interior, and great bagel! I had the Reuben toasted. Coffee was great too. Best way to get here if you aren't in the area, is to catch the Cat bus - parking can be a bit of a pain as it's tightly regulated and a popular area.

Almost didn’t want to rate this cafe - it is a hidden gem! The $7 delicious coffee and bagel or muffin deal is too good to pass. Great service, loyalty card and wide variety of bagels, muffins and spreads.

Such a nice option for a weekly lunch in West Perth. Not sure about the coffee, but the bagels are good and customisable. Good soups during winter time, they come with a toasted bagel on the side. Good variety of salads. Sweets bagel are good as well, if you feel like you need something different than the usual muffin.

I had the chicken ceasar bagel and the taste was devine. My large appetite was satisfied with a quality coffee. All round, a very pleased customer.

Soo hit and miss. Paid $15 for leaves. Ordered 3xserves avocado and still got less then half. Think there is one slice of salmon in there. Soo disappointed. Such a shame because when they are good they are good. Today was bad.

Blergh. Got served by the stingy one today. Don't think I will go back. Had to order double salmon and double avocado and still got given less then half an Avo.(guy next to me was served by someone else and got half of an avo and didn't ask for double) so annoying. I went everyday last week and got the same thing. This one girl - twice now has stinged me. Boo.

Not quite bagels or beans... more a delicious salad. The salad bar was closed when I arrived at 2pm however they were happy to still make me a fresh salad. I chose salmon/avocado/tomato/carrot/gherkins and capers. It was fresh and delicious. Good serve of salmon however only 1/4 avocado. For $15 it was a bit pricey for what you got (lots of leaves). Would still go back. Service was lovely...

Wow! Impressive selection of bagels to choose from and excellent flavour combinations. I went with the typical smoked salmon, spinach and cream cheese bagel which I also had toasted. Really delicious, lovely bagel and well filled. Friendly staff too. Just outside a Red Cat stop.

I really like coming for lunch at Bagels and Beans - $8.50 for a big bowl of delicious soup PLUS a free bagel of your choice, toasted! The soups taste like they're made by someone who cares about your health also which can be rare to find when grabbing a quick lunchtime feed.
Recommended if you're in the area.

Consistently good coffee and bagels. The pastrami one is a fav with jalapeños, cheese and bell peppers. Yum.. Loved the bagels so much I got a dozen. 12 fresh bagels for $12.50 is a steal! The service is friendly. I will be back.

They definitely know how to make a good bagel here! 😋 You even get to select which seed you'd like on top! They had a large selection of fillings to choose from and also a create-your-own section which is pretty cool. They make up fresh juices which I am keen to try next time. Staff were lovely too.

Bagels Bagels & more Bagels in lots of varieties & served in different ways. They do have coffee though which is quite good & the service is pretty slick

Had a coffee and a meeting. Took a double shot latte, which was okay. It wasn't very busy so it was a good spot to meet and be able to talk.

Bagels and Beans is so good. The first time I went there the barista made the effort to look up at me and repeat my order. Low and behold the next day he even remembered me. It takes everything I have not to go back and get a bagel and coffee every single day.

Go Boiled or go away.

Almost like being in NYC. Great array of bagels and bagel sandwiches. I love my bagel toasted and it's a plus to have the Everything Bagel with a generous serving of cream cheese.

Get a LARGE coffee of your liking! The barista is always friendly and polite.

Atmosphere: +.5
Food: +1
Price: +1
Presentation: +.5
Professionalism: +1
Other:

Best Hot Choc!!. I have been to Bagels and Beans on and off for a year. I have tried the following dishes:
- Make your own salad: salmon salad - it is soooo good! The salad was fresh and relatively large portion. I have also tried the tandori chicken salad - nice too!
- soup and bagel - unlike other places which you get roll/bread with soup, at this place, you get bagel! and you can choose what type of bagel you want - eg. sesame seeds, wholemeal, etc. Soup is always nice!
- cranberry muffin - nice!
- Hot choc - this has to be the BEST Hot Chocolate I have had in West Perth so far!! It is rich and full of chocolate flavour! I enjoyed every sip of it!

Service: Staff are friendly and helpful. But when they are very busy, they might not get all your order correctly so remember to ask them to repeat the order or you have to repeat it yourself.
Price: Reasonable for the portion you get.
Overall: I really like this place for lunch and I am looking forward to the hot choc again!

Friendly Barista and Great Coffee. Never disappoints for a morning coffee. Always on point.

Very disappointed. I was really looking forward to my blueberry muffin this morning, but it was stale and had about 3 blueberries in it. No offer to toast or butter my muffin was made which may have improved the taste of the floury dough... I threw most of it out, at least I saved myself the calories. Amazing how a small business like this one can afford to be so complacent!

I had a bagel here with a hot chocolate and both were delicious. The bagels come with little toasted slices of bagel, and I don't know what they do to them but they're lovely.
Yum Yum
Friendly service and good consistent coffee at a reasonable price.

Inconsistant portions. I must say I enjoy the choose your own salads. However, I cannot believe the total inconsistancy of each portion depending on what waitress serves you. At $10.90 for a take away salad, it is expensive, but more acceptable when you get a full container as opposed to half. They really need to be much more consistant with the measures. Mine have varied all week but today was the worst, so I will probably find somewhere else moving forward.

My go to lunch spot in West Perth. Whenever I don't bring my own lunch to work I get a salad from bagels and beans.
I love that I can mix it up and choose my own lettuce/spinach, a variety of meats and additional extras including a section of cheeses and dressings.
The bagels and sandwichs look amazing, Im a sucker for fresh produce & this is my fave quick linch in West Perth

Slow service, terrible beans and cheap browse milk

25mins for a coffee is outrageous!!!

Rude attitude when people ask how long there coffee will take really tops it off!! Great start to my day.. Thanks for the experience will not be returning..

Nice good - rotten service. Food is fresh but not worth the effort of putting up with the service which is chaotic. For a quick bite in West Perth it's easier to go across the road to the bakers. Don't waste your time.

This place is amazing! Everything is so fresh, well presented and just delicious! Every time I am in the area, this is where I always buy my food

Delicious bagels and salads. Substandard coffee and muffins. Great lunch spot but packed during peak periods, and get your coffee from Foodstore, Epic or Pony.

Decent food, Horrible Service. I'll admit that bagels and beans is one of the few places I'll grab lunch in West Perth, and not immediately regret not bringing leftovers from home.

The formula isn't hard - deli style salads and bagel sandwiches allow you to customize what you'd like. The result is a decently priced lunch, so long as you don't go crazy with toppings. Unfortunately, many dub this as AMAZING food, when its really just the best of a sordid lot of establishments in West Perth.

Although decent tasting, I find with all their sandiwches that I need to melt them in the panini press at work before biting in, as they never do a good job toasting things in house.

THAT SAID, the service is TERRIBLY slow. It often takes upwards of 15 minutes for breakfast sandwich to be prepared in the morning. 15 MINUTES when all their clientele are West Perth employees rushing to work is UNACCAPTABLE.

Most of their staff seem to be backpackers and the high employee turnover means poorly trained, indifferent staff.

To top this off, this morning I ordered a bagel with cream cheese (listed at $4.90, a price any New Yorker would scoff at) and tomato (normally toppings are an additional $.80) and was charged $7.30! When I double checked and pointed out the price on the board, I was told by a stressed out young Irish cashier that "we ring up bagels differently with toppings," as if that were a logical explanation. She then moved on to the next customer while I was left to ponder why I was being charged almost $3 extra for two measly slices of tomato.

Delicious Salads!. Best Salad bar in Perth, pick and have your own made.... fantastic value for money and..... mouth watering!

Came by work early this morning and decided to get in for some good bagels..had a toasted wholemeal bagel with low fat cream cheese. lip-smacking good:):)

happy to see the red rooibos tea series being sold as well though the skinny red capp ordered had choco powder sprinkled instead of cinnamon (which shld be the case)..

In any case, great bagels!definitely aiming to try more!

I recommend this place - Good coffee - great bagels!!!! Freshly sliced bread with generous sandwich fillings and good salads! Also used them for office catering with favorable review from the execs!

Great coffee and the "baked on the premises" bagels are to die for. Generous servings and speedy service.

Average. The salads they make at lunch time are delicious.

however this morning i bought a ham and cheese croissant and the cheese in the middle was still cold while the outside of the cheese was melty - yuk. I want the whole thing melty - that's the point of a toasted croissant.

also the barista was too busy yakking with some crazy lady so my coffee was burned and bitter. It's so bad, i've tipped it down the sink and i'll have to go and get another coffee from somewhere else.

By all means go and have a salad from bean and bagel for lunch, their salads are fabulous. but don't get anything that requires melting, and certainly don't get a coffee.

Recommended. I had the BEST muffin here once - a berry bran one, beautifully fresh and nutty with plenty of berries. Unfortunately the next time I returned they didn't have that flavour (I had an average banana one or something), but I will check for that berry bran muffin whenever I'm nearby :)

Also tried a bagel with strawberry cream cheese one morning - YUM! I'll be back for more.

It's nice to be able to get something a bit different (and so cheap) for brekky down this end of Hay Street. The staff are friendly and helpful too.

Bagels and Beans is a small café in West Perth featuring, of course, bagels and coffee. On a sunny Friday afternoon, two friends and I decided to make the trip out there to continue the search for that taste of New York. I'm glad to say that we found it. While the atmosphere may not be anything like that of a Manhattan café, in my opinion it's a good thing. The service was excellent and sitting outside watching the world go by was a great way to spend a few hours.
