This was a wonderful little cafe to stop in at. They have such a wide selection of freshly baked breads on show, as well as premade lunches and sweets. The also offer a great menu for freshly made food goods. They also make an amazing coffee.
I highly recommend and will hopefully be returning soon.
Great for a quick, fresh and healthy lunch! Love the selection of healthy sandwiches, bagels and quiches on offer. Also a great place if you are looking for freshly baked breads for the week.
Great little cafe/bakery in the heart of Mt Lawley. Staff are friendly, service quick and food was lovely. We had home made pies and sausage roll, coffee and lemon tart.
The pastries/doughnuts and sandwiches are awesome and so fresh, however I was a little disappointed with the custard tarts and things in the refrigerator to the back of the store as they weren’t fresh at all.. old fruit on the strawberry tarts and lemon curd tarts where they had gone hard on top as they were a bit old. But once you know the bad stuff from the good stuff there - the good outshines the bad!
Great food! Always huge portions with decent pricing. Would recommend eggs benedict on a bagel for a nice Sunday morning breakfast! Coffee is also great
Don't want to complain but it is really a bakery. Don't expect cafe level service etc but do expect cheap, plain food from a good menu. Coffee is nice, take home some fresh bread or other nice delights.

Three of us dined here for breakfast during a week day. We have been to other Lawleys cafes and find them consistent. Service was friendly & helpful. We enjoyed Eggs benedict on a bagel of your choice ? (Like how you can have the option of half serves). The other breakfast was pancakes with egg & Bacon on the side and it was also enjoyable, The coffee was also good. Great choice of breads and rolls & you will find them in the Entertainment book which is always a bonus. On the down side the tables & windows were smeared and not cleaned properly & could have done with a little more attention.Great place for families, and priced accordingly.
Schnitzel roll and coffee good , crumbs all over seat and table not so good.
Looks like it's primarily a bakery not a cafe so can't be too picky I guess.
Love the beetroot Bread ! Absolutely delicious !
Have Eaten breakfast here in the past which was very ordinary - poached eggs on toast with a coffee.
Would definitely come back to buy bread and rolls but would give their breakfast menu a miss !
Love the sandwiches!!! They simple but so fresh and tasty - can never go wrong here. Great selection of pastries too. I wish there were more Lawley's around Perth.
Don't underestimate the humble exterior of this café looking like something you'd be more likely to find in a country town then inner-city Perth. Full of bubbly welcoming staff and delightful pastries, rolls, quiches and pies, this bakery come café is nothing to laugh at as it holds its own on Beaufort St, Mt Lawley.
We stumbled across this by chance and mishap - one party on crutches unable to venture far from the parked car. But we are so glad we did :)
Wide selection of pastries and cakes, they do really good coffee too. It's nice to have a more down to earth type of cafe in the Mt Lawley area, not trying hard to be hip and impressive. It's always packed and everyone seems really happy.
They do amazing pumpernickel bagels here that I was purchase takeaway and they stay fresh for quite a few days just on the being wrapped in the paper bag. Give them a try. As a first I stopped here for lunch with a colleague for a quick lunch and ordered a mixed meat baguette. The filling was delicious but the baguette was old and stale. Very disappointed but still rated 3.5 as their bagels always are fresh and the best in Perth
Waaaay too much deliciousness to choose from! From this top bakery I've had the sourdough baguette which was lovely.
On the sweets side, it's near impossible to get in and out of this place without trying something! The vanilla slice - absolutely delicious, really good pastry and strong vanilla flavour. Vanilla custard filled doughnut - so creamy, smooth and really delicious custard. Salted caramel doughnut - wow! sugar overload but really good although the caramel wasn't very evenly distributed so be warned in case you're sharing as you might miss out on caramel your half!
Coffee is alright, I probably wouldn't return for coffee but just cakes, sweets and bread. Yum!
Delightful pastries and breads- walk into the store and be enticed by the huge variety of all things bread. Staff was patient and helpful. Coffee was a let down however.
Best cafe to meet a friend for coffee in Mt Lawley
The menu is very difficult to choose from - all sound so good and the displayed treats look equally delicious
Coffee and tea good
Service efficient and friendly
Super tasty pastries and sweet treats can be found here. I particularly enjoy the French pastries like the chocolate croissant. Absolutely delish!!!
Great choice & reasonable prices. Basic decor but bread display is impressive. Served quickly even though busy Saturday morning. Caters for doggy people.
Called in here with my son to pick up a coffee and cakes for afternoon tea. As with the other Lawleys in Wembley, there is a wide range of breads and pastries here, and all the breads I've tried over the years have been good.
On this occasion though, we made a beeline for the cake counter. Along with a few of the old-fashioned types of cakes - apple turnovers, long cream doughnuts and vanilla slices - there were also miniature lemon, fruit and frangipane tarts, pecan tarts, various profiteroles and eclairs, and chocolate tarts.
My son settled on one of his faves - choc caramel slice - while I went for a mini frangipane pecan tart and coffee profiterole. The tart was yummy as was the profiterole, although the profiteroles we recently tried from La Pagnotta in Malaga were marginally better. AB said his slice was one of the better ones he's tried, although these days he does prefer the salted caramel choc slices that just seem to add a touch of something special to this old favourite.
My long mac topped up was good, and I was given a loyalty card which, unlike most other places around the traps, offers a free coffee for every 5 purchased. That's a definite incentive to return and try a few more cakes and pastries.
This cafe bakery is popular with the lunch time crowd and has a range of sandwiches and savoury slices and quiches available. If you're looking for ambience head elsewhere in Mt Lawley or Highgate, but for fairly basic but good food (or a good loaf of bread), it does the job just fine.
Best sausage rolls in perth. they have perfected sausage rolls. My hangover food for the rest of my life. Coffee is good. And the ppl there are always positive.
I love this cafe! Consistently good danish pastries, pies, sandwiches and coffee at reasonable prices. The Mt Lawley staff are almost always really friendly and pleasant, and the coffee loyalty card is the only one I've come across where you get a free coffee after every 5 you buy. The mini danishes are great too. Breakfasts can be a bit mediocre, but it's a bakery, and they do that really well.
Great place to start your day. Love the full breakfast, choc chip muffin and coffees here. Even the vegetarian breakfast is top. A must try place for breakfast in lawley.
I like it (mostly). I've purchased Cronuts here many times, and they are really yummy. Kind of on the small side compared to a typical donut or croissant, but they're so super sweet you don't want them to be huge.
I also tried one of their Steak and Pepper pies yesterday, I'd give it a 7 out of 10. Really enjoyed the filling (nice and peppery, awesome!), and the pastry was alright.. not fantastic, but I'd definitely eat one again.
Go elsewhere for your coffee.
Superb salad. First time to Lawley's today after hearing about it for so long. It doesn't present well compared to many other cafes on the pricey Cambridge St strip, but what it lacks in appearance, it makes up for in food.
I ordered a small takeaway Chicken & Pear salad ($7) - chicken breast, sliced pear, capsicum strips, rocket, crushed walnuts and a dressing that was just so yummy it was ridiculous. The container was packed to the brim and served up just the way I asked (with little if no dressing please).
Also ordered a takeaway skinny cappuccino and an almond croissant. The capp was beautiful - creamy, the right temperature and strong enough without being bitter. The almond croissant was a bit of a miss though - I asked if it was filled with anything and to be fair, I thought the girl behind the counter said no but obviously she said something to do with custard. I don't like fake-tasting bakery custard in, or on, anything so that kinda spoiled that item for me.
All up, very happy I finally visited this place. Friendly, fast service and heaps of hot and cold food to choose from. I don't frequent the top end of Cambridge St very much but will look forward to popping in again when I do.
Awesome service. Went there to buy a sourdough bread, and the guy was so friendly, smile was all over his face. I decided to have it there instead of having it as a take-away, and it came with strawberry jam and butter. How lovely that is! Amazing service!
Busy but nice. Had a bacon and egg roll, a milkshake and a lime tart. they forgot to bring out my lime tart but once I reminded them they brought it out and it was nice.
nice in the morning as the sun shines on the out door tables.

On the way home from Sculptures By The Sea (4:30pm on Sunday) my friend and I wanted to stop by Mount Lawley to grab a coffee, and I couldn’t have been happier that we decided to visit Lawleys. Normally I only stop by here for the bread, but this time I couldn’t help myself, especially after I saw there was a $5.95 coffee and cake special.
Because we were so enticed by the special we decided to ask the girl behind the counter what the cakes included were. She wasn’t sure, apologised and straight away went to grab another girl who showed the girl and told us what the cakes where. The girls were lovely and this friendly level of service continued throughout our entire experience. We had a selection of any coffee, along with either a chocolate cake or mocha cake. We both ordered the $5.95 coffee and cakes special which was perfect, especially as they were happy to make our coffees just as we liked it, including a long black with a side of milk at no extra charge. We each grabbed a different cake with the intention of sharing.
When the lady behind the register brought out our coffee and cakes (we decided to sit outside due to the lovely weather) she asked if we’d like another plate and knife so we could share our cakes, as she had heard us mention that was our plan. The coffees were delicious, and presented nicely with a rich crema and a tasty (what I remember being a) coconut shortbread biscuit on the side. The cakes were delicious; moist cakes with sweet flavoured mousse layers and the chocolate cake had a rich icing that was to die for. The servings were a good size for the rich cakes, not too big and not too small.
As we came so late in the day we noticed by the end they started closing the store, but at no point were we rushed, moved or asked to leave. The service was lovely the whole time, and the staff very friendly. The food was delicious and the pricing was even better. I simply couldn’t fault my afternoon pit-stop. I even ended up leaving with a Margarita flatbread and muffin, both of which were delicious evening treats.
Good ample brekky. Nicely cooked, but quite standard. You won't leave disappointed, but neither will you be amazed. Personally not a fan of their meat pies and sausage rolls, but their bread is excellent and the main attraction.
This place is the bomb. I don't know anywhere else you could get a big breakfast (with hash browns!) for $17.50, coffee or tea included.
Yum yum! Always go here at the weekends for croissants and coffee. We get take away, it's always quite busy..and sometimes abit slow, but worth the wait! Staff are very friendly too. Sandwiches and rolls look really good too, worth a visit!
Public holiday Monday ... Only one piece of bacon with the bacon and eggs ...
Friendly staff, nice pies and deserts.
Always come here for the big breakfast. Reasonably priced, decent portions and comes with a coffee too
Sourdough is Yummy. Popped by for a quick breakfast on Anzac day morning - it was packed to the brim! Nevertheless, service was efficient and our food and coffees arrived with no fuss.
Food and coffee were okay. We had a sourdough toast with butter but no conserves as indicated on menu. Not a fan of conserves but we should be informed if it ran out. Sourdough bread was great! Had the big breakfast which was very standard but good value. Everything tasted ok except mushrooms and sausages were dry. Ciabatta in the big breakfast was yummy too!
Definitely returning to grab a sourdough.
Great. The olive ciabatta
Good enough. Cakes were nice, but the place resembled a cafeteria to me. Good for a quick catch up... Or just getting something quick. I heard how good Lawley's was, but it was pretty average to me.
Olive ciabatta a winner. I can't comment on service or coffee as I just ducked in to grab some of their famous fresh bread, and was not disappointed. The loaf of olive ciabatta was full of sliced salty black olives and the bread was so moist and tasty. Yum!
Went along on saturday! Atmosphere was amazing due to the festival! Food and staff were delightful yummy cakes and coffee!!
Great place for casual breakfast with friendly & helpful staffs... 15 bucks for a decent big brekky including coffee/tea... Really can't ask for more!
Met a friend at Lawley's for breakfast this morning. Situated along bustling Beaufort Street I was surprised to find there was only a few people inside. Mind you, it was a Tuesday! I scoured the beautiful cabinet full of cold pastries, tarts, cakes etc. with my daughter and she chose a small cream filled lamington and a small choc hazelnut tart to go with her babycino. I ordered a cappuccino for myself - I'm a cappuccino kinda gal; and then noticed they had CRONUTS on the bench, and promptly asked nicely for one of these along with Poached bacon & Eggs. The coffee is a Lawley's blend and it was amazing! I had 2 cappuccino's all up, but my friend had a mocha and found hers a bit bitter.......perhaps it was the chocolate?!? Our breakfasts and sweets came out and one of my eggs was a bit overdone, but overall it was yummy and I ate the whole thing! Once we finished we had another browse at the fridge cabinet with an awesome array of gourmet rolls, sandwiches, salads, frittatas and plenty

The breakfast menu is quite impressive, two pages of unique breakfast options, each designed to flaunt different aspects of their bakery. I wasn’t feeling particularly hungry so I opted for a toasted ham and cheese croissant with a béchamel sauce ($4). My breakfast companion chose the breakfast bagel; with bacon, tomato, mushrooms and an egg cooked to his liking – he chose poached ($8.95). There were 11 bagel flavours to chose from; plain, sesame, rock salt, cracked pepper, blueberry and poppy seed to name a few.
Lawley’s is a bakery and not a patisserie. Despite that, they still offer up delicious pastries. I wouldn’t rate the pastry itself as good as Choux Cafe or Scents of Taste but the fillings and flavours of each pastry work well. I really loved the chocolate tart which is easily the best I’ve eaten. You expect a strong dark chocolate flavour but it has a milk chocolate flavour instead and it melts in your mouth like chocolate heaven! The raspberry tart and the eclairs were also very enjoyable. I also like the pumpkin and spinach quiche which had a perfect balance of flavours. From all the patisserie like establishments I’ve visited, Lawleys are also the cheapest with a bill under $29 whereas I’d normally pay ~$35.
My friend treated me for a nice cuppa and fruit tart here. The atmosphere is lovely, and I enjoyed the cake. Next time, I ought to bring more friends. The smell of the bread.....gotta love that ❤️
Awesome vibe, great coffee and food, super friendly staff. Love the neighborhood. The cafe is very spacious with high ceilings which makes it feel not too crowded, but also not too big and sparse. A must visit!
The red head makes the best caramel latte I’ve ever had in my life. The delicate balance of flavours take you on a journey. Perfect way to start a Sunday morning. Thank you Mia
Great looking place, good food and coffee. Lovely place to stop off for a bite
