Located in the heart of Hillarys Habour so the views from this venue are always a joy to behold, being right on the water. Staff are very fun loving here and always happy to recommend a dish if you're unsure of what to go for. Fast service without compromise of food quality, in particular breakfast. Definitely will be back to try their lunch offering. Be sure to try their home-made juices.

Love this place. Service was great, food was great and both coffee and orange juice was lovely. Positive notes around the walls encourages inspiration. Impressive view to pass the time.

We had a lovely breakfast and coffee here the other day. I absolutely loved the menu! For once, I actually had trouble deciding what to order because there were so many great options. Would like to come back for lunch soon, I enjoyed my meal, but a piece of constructive feedback would be that the menu item I received was different to how it was described. I had the Canadian Waffles because I read crispy bacon (yum!) and what came out was more akin to warmed shortcut bacon. Personally, I think whilst it is very popular, shortcut bacon is underwhelming due to the lack of fat and crunch potential, so wouldn’t have ordered it if it had been described accurately. Still enjoyable though. I thought the pricing was fine. I am surprised to read that people feel it’s over priced. The location is pretty special, and views like that aren’t cheap. I can appreciate the overheads would be significant, and even still I was happy with the pricing. Service was very friendly and there was a nice buzz of activity around. Will definitely be back. Wondering why I haven’t seen this place before now.

Staff are friendly that is why I have given at least a star. However the food I will not give any stars. I do not recommend the seafood platter $72.00 the portion was small for the price, it would feed 1 person and also awful quality. This could have been justified if it was fine dining And fresh high seafood quality but was not at all. Please review your seafood platter and compare to other restaurants Or at least change to a cheaper price $30.00. I also found a hair in my squid, they offered an extra skewer. But we declined. We did not finish our food, just more concerned for price and quality. Did anyone else have this experience?
Two Little Macs!
“ Overpriced and low quality” Ordered All Day Breakfast Burger, for $17.95 it was poor, stuff all bacon and 1 flat over cooked egg, and way too much rocket, my local lunch bar does one for $6.50 much better quality. Kids Nuggets were self crumbed and not sure if breast or mixture of thigh or other cuts as the meat was quite dark which I found strange. Both kids had a couple bites and both refused to eat them, I tasted them and the flavour for me seemed off. Complained and got told they taste how they are meant too and offered a basket of Chips instead which kids enjoyed. Waitress was lovely, and very helpful. View is Great. Overall, left the place still hungry and feeling ripped off. Paying for the view. Won’t be returning. **Edited, Kids woke up last night, both of them vomiting with food poisoning! Thanks Overboard cafe for ruining our weekend!

Walked past and saw the board for $20 full breakfast. walk inside to order 2 full breakfasts to be told that the $20 breakfast isnt the full breakfast, the full breakfast is $25, the $20 breafast doesnt include avacado, chorizo or mushroom. but anyway, ordered 2 "full"($25) Breakfast with 2 x lattes. and sat down. the waiter brings to the table 1 x cappacino and 1 × latte??? , thats okay could do with the less milk. then out comes our food. i noticed i was missing my hash browns. i told the wiater and he reaponded "okay" and just walked off, leaving me to finish my meal. so me still wondering if my hash browns are still coming or not i get up to ask the waiter if they are coming. and he shortly responded they are coming. luckily i had started eating because it took more than 10 minutes to recieve my hash browns which i couldnt enjoy with my meal. short story food is good, but not great value for money. coffee is okay. very weak and served luke warm(but they are free with breakfast). service could be significantly better, and the misleading $20 "full breakfast" should be amended.

I have never bothered with writing a review for a restaurant before but after a meal at the purple goat cafe I felt the need. I had the pork belly and I can honestly say, it's the best meal I have ever had! Everything in the dish compliments each other and was so tasty. We will definitely be back.

Worst food and service I have had in Perth. Cakes tasted like they were box type from the supermarket and my kids wouldn't even eat them. I had chicken which was overcooked and the gravy tasted like instant gravy, it was terrible. Service was terrible and slow, food was brought out and dumped on the table and no knives and forks were brought which I had to track down myself. When brought to the managers/owner his attitude was if you don't like it go to another establishment, well I certainly will and also hope that anyone reading this saves themselves the hassles and their hard earned money. By the way the 1 star that I gave is generous, I just couldn't rate them lower on the scale.

Delicious food, generous portions, great, relaxed atmosphere in the perfect setting by the water. Oh, and their chips are the best! I would recommend this cafe, with restaurant quality food for families and groups.

Have eaten at the Purple Goat several times Food and service have always been first rate. Do not understand some negative comments . The cakes are amazing and obviously made by A chef. They are nothing like supermarket cakes. We have taken different friends there and will Continue to enjoy the great food and excellent Cakes.

Came today on a Saturday. Nice place, amazing customer service. Very friendly. The purple goat breakfast board was Beautiful. Sour dough hit the spot. But the Scrambled EGGs was 'prefect'! Definitely will be back. Thank you

Very tasty chicken and white wine risotto. Quick, attentive and polite staff. Prices about average for the boat harbour. The cheesy garlic bread was nice also. Thank you

We ordered a seafood tasting plate and some turkish bread with dip. The food was great and there was leftover dip. I asked how much a top up of bread was and was told we would get charged for another serve for bread and dip. Not very accomodating.

All I can say is that we have been here with friends more than a dozen times, including last Friday 23rd and had various meals from the menu, with never a complaint, food has always been consistently good, and excellent value, especially when they have the $25 deal.
Russell Collier
Great value and good food. I had the Barramundi special which was great and included a beer as well for $30. Can't beat it.

This was quite easily the WORST meal I have EVER ordered in my life. I had one bite and returned it, as as you can see in the photo the fish was so over cooked it was literally like a piece of rubber!
When we first arrived we tried to leave as the glasses were absolutely filthy they got delivered to the table with dirty marks smeared all around some of them and all of them were water marked.
We had ordered a kids fish and chips and told they would not give it to us to take away, as we had ordered to dine on originally.
So instead of drinking out of the dirty cups we filled up my daughters drink bottle and sipped from that.
We were going to leave and go else where but we’re so hungry we just decided to stay even though the menu was also extremely overpriced and limited.
There were no entrees at all unless you call and entree selection, one option of garlic bread. Also no seniors options.
When we received our meal it was obviously without the one mouthful I had that I was CLEARLY cremated not just on the cooked side.
I immediately took it to the owner, as I am huge on praise and generally HATE complaining I was very articulate and polite in my delivery of how over cooked it was. The lady was SO RUDE she literally stared at me made no comment and walked away leaving the plates still in my hand.
I was standing there unattended with no response for so long I placed the meals down on the counter and went to pack up our table ourselves.
We had no apology, no offer for a refund or a please return another time and to make her the most disappointing restaurant owner ever she actually told me that if I could cook better that she would like me to bring it in to her.
I was disgusted utterly disgusted. I will never return and I even spoke to a lady in the toilets close by who ate there and said her carbonara was awful to.
I have never been so disappointed. It actually ended up making me angry, Anyone that could treat a patron that way should not be in the hospitality industry. Especially after ruining their lunch with poor quality and overpriced food. We will never ever return and I will tell everyone to stay clear of this awful place.
I can’t wait for it to close so hopefully one of the best positions for a restaurant in Hillarys can be once again replaced with somewhere worth eating at.

We had a group of 8 for breakfast this morning. While the food was ok the service was absolutely appalling. We had a young guy that was just straight up rude and miserable. He stood down one end of the long table and we had to yell our orders down the table to him since it was so busy and loud. When my father asked him to come down to the other end of the table to take his order he just responded “i can hear you” rudely and glared at him and refused the move.. When our ordered came 4 out of the 8 were wrong clearly because he didn’t hear us properly. No apology just a abrupt change of food. It just put a big damper on our birthday breakfast
He was also our server the weekend before and he was just the same miserable rude server so that’s us done for purple goat. Food wasn’t bad but not worth putting up with the service. Wouldn’t recommend.

Worst restaurant in hillarys. Bad service. Unfriendly owner

Not a bad experience for lunch here, however it's pretty average.

Nothing stood out on the menu. But we end up choosing the grilled barramundi and beef burger. They were tasty but not that amazing that I would want to come back.

We have been to The Purple Goat on several occasions on a Friday night after ukulele! Always found the staff very welcoming, smiling and efficient! Food - plate good size and quality - reasonable prices for both food and drinks! Well done - highly recommended! Ken and Audrey. NB Note that previous reviews are mainly quite old and not with the current owners. So look at the dates where people have posted negatively!!

Order came out in bits and pieces, waffles should have said waffle on menu as there is only one, yes it’s a special but let’s be honest.

Coffee order was incorrect.

Coffees were good.

We love this place! Great food at reasonable prices and waterfront views. We often stop in for coffee or breakfast on our morning walk, but we also enjoy eating lunch or occasionally dinner there as well. The new owners have done wonders, new furniture and a new chef. Very friendly people.

Went to dinner on New Year’s Eve
This place seemed ok menu seemed ok
We both had barramundi special for 25 dollars
The chips were hard and seemed like the oil has never been changed paid once but repeated on me all night fish was ok probably wouldn’t go back

Poor effort for a breakfast. Two eggs, small amount of mushrooms, and toast on mine. My other half, two eggs and two slices of toast. Pisspoor effort.

Nice view. Good service. Pub food standard.
Main meal included drink.
Kids meal $15
Spaghetti marinara $20
Steak $28
Barra $28
Such a good location but average food. A bit disappointed.
There's a Sunday special where meals and a drink are $25, which is pretty good value. And they seem to have the cheapest dine-in fish and chips and salad in the immediate area ($20). Service was pleasant and seating was comfortable.

Went here with my family the other day to try it out. The place was empty which was suprising for a saturday night. Let me just say the service was terrible staff were rude and unfriendly. We order our food and it was stone cold. My wife had the barramundi and it tasted nothing like it. Avoid this place, its over priced, nothing special.

Wish I had looked at the reviews of this place before deciding to eat here!! As the majority on yelp and zomato are poor and even with this feedback improvement has not been made!!
Special notice board outside saying everything on the menu for $25. I had already fancied the scotch fillet with peppercorn sauce valued at $38. So we thought it to be good value.
I asked for medium it was served well done, my husband asked for medium to rare and his was also well done. My husband sent his back and was given a slightly thicker steak second time around but still over cooked.
The chips tasted like they had been cooked in old fat and the sauce was very watery.
My sauce had been poured over the meal leaving soggy chips and salad. My husband had the sense to ask for his to be on the side second time. Even though more effort has been put into the second meal pictured above. Would you say this was worth the money?? Baring in mind mine was even worse.
I was asked how my meal was and explained all the qualms I had. I was still asked to pay the full amount and advised they'd speak with the chef.
So please don't waste your money!!! This business is not built on customer retention, but relying on gullible passers by thinking they are having a good deal!!

Great little cafe. Fairly quiet for a Friday night. Food came out quick and piping hot. We had the chicken and rice and the risotto and both were lovely. Would definitely recommend.

I had coffee from The Purple Goat Cafe yesterday and it was actually pretty good. Not the best I've had but definitely not anywhere near the worst. I'd go back and see if they do a decent one again for sure. Also keen to try some of their food.

We should have walked away when we saw how unclean and poor presentation with old worn furniture. I asked for chilli mussels they were cold and when I complained sure they weren't happy but had to replace. Second lot out of a bowl I got 12 mussels for $32.00 I complained and was told to pay my bill and get out.i gave 1.5 for a cold beer. The place was empty another sign. My husbands steak for $45.00 weighed 80 grams do yourself a favour and keep walking

We had lunch here on Sunday. There was a special on, every meal for 25 dollars. We ordered the scotch fillet and prawns with rice n salad. Very quick service and the staff make an effort. The steak was cooked well done, although I requested medium. It was still nice though so I wasn't too fussed. The pepper sauce is poured onto the whole plate so it ends up in your salad which is not very appealing. The chips were of low standard. Prawns were in a bowl full of butter, not too tasty. All in all they need to work on there menu as to compete with the all the other restaurants beside them.

We ate here for my sister's birthday. Everyone thought their meal was the best pick of the night. Great food, friendly staff and a good atmosphere. I had the pork belly and seriously it was the best!

It was a nice day so we decided to go to Hillary's boat harbour. We waited 2 hours for our food to come out to find out that the chef is cooking all the meals for the restaurant at once and that it will take a while longer. When the food finally came out, it was very tasteless and bland. Safe to say I will never be going back.

Not too bad. Didn't fancy eating at the Breakwater and saw that this place had a special where you got your mains (anything on the menu) plus a glass of wine for $25. I was a little sceptical but went ahead and ordered a chicken salad and my husband ordered the scotch fillet. We also ordered garlic bread. The garlic bread was great, three thick sour dough slices. The salad was comparable to other Cafes nearby and my husband was content enough with his steak and chips. The wine was fine, Shiraz ( which was the red choice they had in the special) isn't my favourite so I can't really judge, but was fine to go with the meal. All up $58, I would go again. The service was friendly enough and we were checked in upon once during our meal to see how everything was.

Enjoyed so far 3 lovely meals at this cafe which serves up restaurant quality food, beautiful presented, with a small but friendly staff. A little gem in the middle of Hillary Boat Harbour
Danielle
They seem to be trying hard but service, coffee and attention to detail fell a bit short of the mark. Croissant was good although arrived cold.

Dined here over the long weekend. Excellent service, the food came out really quick and was super delicious and fresh! We'll definitely be back! 😊👌🏻
