It’s amazing how this place stays to be a local hidden gem! I hope it stays that way, but sometimes it’s hard to keep something so good to yourself. I’ve brought my families, countless friends & overseas visitors to this place- it really is that good!
I don’t know any other place in Sydney that gives you home-grown organic vegetables to wrap your meat in and home-made pickles and preserved vegetables. The meat is nothing short of spectacular- no competition in Sydney!
As Korean myself, this place offers a good range of quality Korean food. I'm glad I found this place.
The Chef's pride in his dishes and how they are brought to the table, is impressive. Well worth the visit for showing korean BBQ for the first timers. The chef came around to cook BBQ for us, which is rare in Australia.
Korean BBQ is often misconceived as all-you-can-eat BBQ - some protein rich, heavy meat eating diner out for gym junkies. That's why I haven't been going to korean BBQ for years in Australia.
To tell you about the authentic Korean bbqs, yes you do get to grill the meat on the table but that's not all about it. It's the type of grill they have, the way smokes are cleared through induction system, convenience of eating - such as whether they are stepped to assist with grilling, quality of meat, the type of meat they have in range and its origins, and last but not least, the side dishes. Speaking of korean authentic dining experience, I refer to side dishes including appetisers and deserts, as they usually are part of the course meal you choose. And it is not an exegeration when you say that side dishes are one of the distinguishing points to rate korean restaurants in Korea. This is not a surprise considering how traditional Korean dining is appreciated firstly by the number of course meals and side dishes that are presented in the meal.
Knowing the delicacies and styles of korean BBQ the real Korean way, I'd say this restaurant has put in decent efforts to bring about the experience of food and service and Id highly recommend this place. 👍
Amazing service, very attentive and friendly. Owner and waitresses were extremely kind and paid a lot of attention to us, even cooking our meat for us. The food itself was amazing! BBQ beef ribs were great and so was their selection of soups. Thoroughly enjoyed my 3rd visit there and will always come back.
Have never done a Korean BBQ before, and found this restaurant to be a great way to experience the cuisine. I've never been to a cleaner restaurant, and the meat and vegetables were wonderfully fresh. Highly recommended, I'll definitely be back.
Fresh food, very tasty. Went twice the same week. Once having the bbq, and another time we had takeaway. The service is good, very friendly people willing to help with the cooking. My one complaint is the lighting, I think it’s a bit bright for a restaurant but that’s it.
Very nice beef soup, fried dumpling and seafood pancake.
and also nice side dishes. friendly waitress and chef even ask us want to have extra side dish
will go back again
The place is near and clean (even bathroom)! The staff are friendly and happy to help if you don’t know what to order. The quality of food is great and individual dishes are all tasty! I will go back again for sure. If you especially like Wagyu beef then I’d recommend this place.
Fantastic beef. Went with a couple of friends and we are all very satisfied with the quality of all their dishes. They pay attention to all details starting from the charcoal and its size to the complimentary vegetables. Will definitely come back.
Exceptional wagyu beef. The beef was very juicy. Very good service, clean and very neat place. We tried the seafood soup it was yummy. Very recommended
The wagyu beef is very delicious, good quality, good value for money. Pork belly is also nice. The place is clean and very new. The staff are friendly, they teach you how to eat korean bbq properly.
I went to Sydney for a short trip last weekend and found this Korean BBQ restaurant, so my best friend booked a dinner on the night I arrived. I must say, this is one of the Korean BBQ restuarants that served authentic Korean food. The side dishes (umlimited) tasted great with a good variety. We ordered a small set of meat (it's enough for us) and the seaford tofu soup (my favourite). Meat was very fresh and yummy. We had a great night and enjoyed the food very much. Price was reasonable and similar to Melbourne.
Never enjoyed Korean bbq as much as I enjoyed it here. The meat was absolutely delicious and when you have it wrapped up in their lettuce / leaves fresh from their farm. Perfection! The service was really warm and friendly. Can’t wait to come back :)
This spot is not your usual rowdy late night kbbq. The service is friendly and attentive. 10/10 for quality of the meats and freshness of the veggies. Besides your usual soju and Korean beers you also have the option to order a range of wines. Highly recommend if you are in the neighbourhood.
Best service of any Korean bbq restaurant in Sydney and the food is great too. Can’t beat charcoal bbq. Marinate is super nice and they have shiso and makgeolli so you know it’s a real Korean bbq restaurant.
The owners are super friendly and their 5yo daughter is super cute.
The only thing to note is that the pricing is higher than that of other Korean restaurants, but it’s fair considering the quality of ingredients used.
The service was very friendly and super helpful (given we don’t have much Korean BBQ experience, we needed help)! I felt the meat was a little expensive for the portion size. Nice experience and food.
For a delicious Korean BBQ experience, you can't go past Chef's BBQ at Petersham. Avoid the dinner rush - come before 7pm or after 9pm.
Chefs BBQ use premium ingredients and take alot of care with each dish. Even the accompanying leafy vegetables are high quality. Highly recommend. Great service.
Went here recently. It was lovely sitting around the burning coals. Sides come with orders of meat and the servers are lovely. Nice casual place to get a good feed.
