We ordered a selection of dishes from the bar menu to share between a group of us:
-Fries
-Quinoa salad
-Cheddar beignets
-Tasting board
The standard of all the dishes was excellent, the fries were delicious and crunchy, the cured meats and cheese were of a high standard and even the bread on the tasting board is better than the sourdough from our local bakery. The cheddar beignets were not universally loved but fried cheese and dough is not for everyone.
The ciders are of course excellent and the al fresco setting looking over the orchids is lovely even on a cloudy day. Staff were attentive and professional.
Gorgeous venue , especially on a sunny day. Overlooking the orchards. Tasty cider and nice food. Excellent service. Barramundi with potato salad, broccoli salad and Texas ranch chicken.
Beautiful place at Perth hill. The Foods are nice. The staffs are friendly and helpful. I came here with my ladies friends at lunch time and they serve us quite fast.
The food and service were pretty good but the obvious selling point of this place is its location. Absolutely stunning views and landscaping, as well as a nature playground and open space for kids or anyone really to run around. Definitely recommend a visit just to check the place out. Also the cider is pretty good as well of course 😎
Came here with my family for lunch the other day. We ordered the steak sandwich, cider battered dish & baked brie. Highlight was the fish, it was amazing! The baked Brie was so delicious too!! The steak sandwich was pretty good, just a bit dry & not enough steak. Overall it was very good & would come back!
Another one that I can’t believe it took me so long to visit!! We are in the restaurant and then spent time on the grass. Food was on point, great selection of kids meals and a generous serving size with modest prices. The most disappointing pasty of our experience was the inebriated parents not watching their choosing on the playgrounds, resulting in a little boy peeing off the top of the play ground and another little girl getting bullied by said children. No fault of the restaurant, however worth mentioning to watch your children and have an adult capable of supervising quite a large space knowing that it is likely other parents won’t be doing the same.
We went to Core Cider House for Mothers Day 2018 with a group of seven. The staff were absolutely fantastic, everyone was warm and friendly and went out of their way to ensure we had a lovely lunch. The apple pie was particularly tasty and serving sizes were perfect. We loved the venue, and the live music created a welcoming atmosphere. I would definitely recommend!
We went here for Valentines day 2018 and it was awesome.
Really relaxing, a beautiful view and great food and not to mention CIDERS.
We tried the tasting board of Ciders and it was sooooo good. We wanted to order one of the ciders that was quite spicy but they'd run out.....damn!!
The food was top notch, we both had the fish and were sooo happy.
We saw other food coming out and it all looked really good.
Service was a bit hit and miss, but they were a little busy.
Definitely worth the drive for a day out.
TIP: Leave the kids / toddlers / screaming babies at home to allow adults to relax in peace.
Overall: 9/10
Amazing!!! Loved the food! the service! And we will be back next year definitely value for money
3 choices of Entre main and desert very friendly not rushed enjoyable evening
Scenic location with orchard views to take in while enjoying a refreshing cider! Pizza took a while to come out during a busy lunchtime but drinks kept us going happily till then. Would definitely be visiting again to try more of the menu!
I absolutely LOVE Core Cider House! Food is always delicious and the menu variety is on point - can I just say, Farmer John knows whassup ;) I'm not usually a big cider girl, but I enjoy every single one of their delicious Core blends! So many flavours to choose from now including cocktails, a champagnesque cider by the bottle and even a fortified plum which I regretfully haven't tried yet! Staff have been delightful here since the beginning of time; polite & attentive, with a sense of humour. They've continued to make improvements here over the past few years, I'm always excited to see what's changed! Always good vibes at the Core Cider House, no matter what time of day (yes, they do breaky and it's awesome!). Lastly, if you're looking for a wedding venue - you must check this out!
Very relaxing Saturday lunch with friends.
Friendly service. Recommended.
Tasting tray of 5 sparkling cider $18
Farmer John's board $45
Pulled Pork Cheese Burger $25
Apple pie $14
Kids meal $10
Flat white & Cappuccino $9
Amazing apple pie! The mains pale in comparison (over-priced and under-seasoned). Just go for the pie! Very kid friendly with lots of space to romp around (just don't share that pie...).
Great ambience.. set in an orchard with a beautiful view.. nice ciders to go along with the view.. however the food menu is limited in the options.. good place to hang out during the day with family
Visiting from Melbourne. Gorgeous scenery and delicious cider! Very cool place to grab a cider and sit on the grass in the sun. Take a picnic blanket. They could do with more seating and some umbrellas to protect from the weather. We went on Mother's Day and I don't think they've been that busy before, so the staff were a bit overwhelmed and had run out of certain glasses or whatever they needed for tasting paddles. Service also took a while, because they were overrun. Cider was fantastic - especially the lemon cider, which is different and I really enjoyed. Gorgeous views. Great for families, fun for kids. You can also pick their apples, which are delicious.
Great spot in the valley. Went midweek to avoid weekend crowds, nice and relaxed, not too many people. Tried tasting tray to sample ciders, lime and berry COREgasm was my favourite, lemon pith'd was different and interesting. Shared Farmer John's tasting board which was nice and Core apple pie with apple pie ice cream for afters. Apple pie was the bomb!!!!
Excellent food. There were 6 of us and between us we ordered pulled pork burgers, steaks, tagliatelle and pork belly. All super tasty, fresh, hot and served in a timely manner. Desserts ordered were apple pie and ice cream and one poached pear. All recommended. Dessert menu is not vast however. We booked via Dimmi and the request was not read. I'm told a table is automatically assigned. So don't do anything different if booking via dimmi. Ciders are excellent. Don't go here to enjoy peace of the hills. Between the restaurant, casual outdoor dining, picnickers on lawn and live music. This place is incredibly busy and noisy. It doesn't bother most. Just an FYI

I used to come at least once a quarter and whenever a visitor is in Perth I would bring them here. I was thoroughly disappointed with the food this time around. I wanted to have a chat with chef Duane, but it seems he is no longer there; explains a lot I guess. I'm sad that he has moved on, and would be so keen to know where he has gone to.
The views are still amazing and they have spent some money to do up the place so it looks even better.
When an invite pops into your inbox for an unvisited eatery in Perth, it has me curious immediately!. I received a lovely invitation to visit Core Cider House in the Perth Hills and accepted the invitation with much excitement. The email provided lots of information on the venue and I had a bit of a google too, it looked amazing.
Pictured: tasting tray (COREgasm – berry & lime, CORE meltdown – apple, peace CORE – pear, pith’d – lemon, and rusty – ginger & apple) $18. Over the Christmas and new year break, I was invited to the launch of Core Cider House’s new menu. The place is absolutely beautiful – very romantic and relaxing. About 30 minutes away from the city, this place is located in the Perth Hills region and is a great place to visit to escape the city life and explore the wonderful countryside. The restaurant overlooks the orchards and there is so much greenery everywhere. Very picturesque. It’s no wonder that this place is often a popular place for weddings. My partner and I treated ourselves to the works – we had a tasting paddle sampling an array of the delicious ciders Core has to offer as well as a complimentary 3 course meal each. Of the five ciders we tried, my personal favourite was rusty (the ginger and apple cider). The COREgasm (berry and apple cider) came a close second.
Amazing views, amazing home brewed ciders and mouthwatering well priced food & kid friendly. The kangaroo carpaccio was flavoursome but the slices were a little thick. The pear salad was a delicious accompaniments. The kids meals went down a treat, they had the fish n chips and the chicken mash n beans.
The steak was well cooked and of decent proportion. Great desserts too! Big serving of delicious apple pie, the sour apple creme brulee was so yummy but abit small. Love love love this place!
Core Cidery in Pickering Brook is set in rolling green lawns, tables strategically placed under shady trees, another area covered with umbrellas and shade cloth, and a playground for the myriad kids of the family groups who made up a large part of the customers on the day we went along. Last Wednesday was a beautiful day in the Perth Hills, and judging by the many young families enjoying the shady grassed areas we were not alone in thinking this. This is a very attractive setting.
We went without a booking for lunch today, so couldn't get a table in the restaurant and had the outdoor bar menu instead. We had the tasting paddle of ciders to drink, and a selection of snacks for lunch.
The fries were piping hot, crispy and well-salted and came with a side of nice aioli. The grilled prawn salad was good too - fresh and bursty prawns on a nicely dressed rocket, couscous and orange salad. Also he the buttermilk chicken lollipops which were good too and came with a spicy dipping sauce. We were a bit disappointed that we couldn't adapt any of the pizzas since they are pre-made with all the ingredients - no good when someone can't eat cheese!
We'll try again sometime and book ahead of time - they were very busy. Staff were friendly. Would be good if the outdoor areas were cleared of plates a bit more regularly or there was a shelf or hutch to return used glasses - they were getting piled up pretty badly.

The main reason why we trekked out to this place is cos of the view. It is beautiful on a clear summer's day. We started with the meat platter (bush tucker fusion plate) to share. It was not that big considering the price ($55) and I didn't think there was anything super outstanding in the dish. I liked the arancini balls the best from the platter. For mains I got the duck breast. The actual duck portion was quite small. The meat was perfectly cooked however the skin was underdone making it rubbery and fatty, not edible. I didn't like the pickled red cabbage (too vinegary and lacked balance) or the nectarines (way too sweet) that came with it. I expected more considering the other reviews on the dish I had read beforehand. The sweet potato chips were nice but not sure whether it warranted the $11 price tag.
The spiced apple pie lived up to expectations. The slice was very generous. I loved the crumbly crust and the filling had just the right amount of sweetness and spice. It was probably one of the best apple slices I have had. Also got the lime ginger tart to share. For me, it didn't have enough ginger flavour in it and the base was too soft that it didn't add any texture to the dish. It was nice but I wouldn't recommend it as I have had better.
Overall the savoury food was a let down but I would definitely come back for the apple pie! The staff were also super friendly and catered for our bubs which is always a thumbs up.
Just 30ish minutes from the city, there are various wineries dotted in the Perth hills region of Carmel, Pickering Brook and Bickley, a hidden gem of sorts, compared to the well known Swan Valley region. The drive here is like passing through the countryside, peaceful and tranquil. The walk to the cider house is picturesque, with a large grassed area to throw down a picnic blanket and sip on an alcoholic beverage or two while the kids run wild. There’s plenty of outdoor seating seating to enjoy your drinks from the bar, or you can venture upstairs to the semi open outdoor setting where there is lots to choose from on the menu which utilises the stone fruit grown on the premises or makes use of the ciders brewed on site.
I started off with the kangaroo carpaccio which was delicious. The dish is perfectly paired with sweet potato for a touch of sweetness, creaminess from the whipped feta, and crunch from the candied macadamias which also provide a different touch of sweetness. For mains I chose the seared duck breast which was perfectly cooked with just a tad amount of pink in the centre. The duck was enjoyed with some slightly sweet pickled red cabbage, but the sour apple reduction and grilled stone fruit helped balance each other out. For dessert, I thoroughly enjoyed the very generous slice of spiced apple pie. The spices employed lift the pie to a new level, particularly the addition of chilli for some bite. The ice cream is delicious and I did have a taste of the other desserts, a chilli chocolate marquis and a sour apple brûlée, which were both delicious.
The scenery is beautiful and relaxing, and the venue is just like that too. The weather was beautiful and the place was packed out (best to book). Despite that, the service was friendly and everyone was well looked after. Lots of people were enjoying the ciders brewed on site and also the food on offer. Core Cider House also runs a little farmers market on the weekend where fresh fruit, preserves, and ice cream are available. The venue also hosts tours, events (check out their New Years Eve offering), and is also the ideal venue for private functions or weddings.
Core Cider House is our new favorite in the Perth Hills. They squeezed us in on a busy Saturday and we were promptly served water and a cider tasting board. Trying to decide our favorite cider was tough - beautiful, fresh flavours and lots of variety! We were starving so we ordered the bushman's board, the fish of the day (swordfish) and the duck. We loved how they incorporated local produce through all of the dishes and couldn't fault any of the food - it was beautifully presented with amazing flavour and good portion sizes. What surprised me was the 'balance' of flavour, sweet, sour, savoury... So complimentary and nothing too over the top. Already planning our next trip!!!
Loved the atmosphere and cool wind blowing around and some nice tunes in the background.
Enjoyed tasting the Ginger Cider, Dry Apple, Lemon cider. To the point we purchased a number of bottles to bring home. The wait staff lady was lovely and enjoyed telling us about the ciders and wine that were available for purchase. Certainly we will be coming back again.
Picture perthfect surroundings and great for a long lazy lunch. We shared the Big Core Plate for 2 for $65 which came with the most delicious chunks of pork belly with crispy crackling. It went so well with the pear relish. The chorizo was also excellent and I really liked the mild creamy cheddar on the platter too.
I had the $18 tasting paddle of 5 ciders. Thought it was a bit exxy. The waitress said each one was about 70ml so $18 for less than a pint. The berry and lime was a success and nothing like syrupy Rekorderlig. I also enjoyed the pear one a lot. The lemon cider reminded me of dish washing liquid and the apple and ginger I found too sweet. Apple cider was good but not the best.
Ended the meal with a huge slice of warm apple pie and ice cream. I really enjoyed the buttery crust on it. The wait staff were lovely and friendly and we were even offered blankets to keep warm.
Nothing like a nice drive out in the hills to sample some ciders and have a feed. The share platter and caeser salad were great, that parmesan crisp was amazing, its like the crunchy cheese that comes out the side of your jaffles and is ever so tasty. Ciders were also good. Since the first trip up there the place has grown and the venue is great for a sunny day trip
OMG went for a random scenic drive and found this little gem, for a golden plate award place defiantly worth the drive, the price is not expensive at all and for what they had served amazing food best place I have ever eaten at definitely will be going back there soon, great beer and beautiful scenery, if anyone is wanting to trying something new and different that won't put a hole in your bank account this is the place to go
food, service, and of course cider, was all great! they had a winter special of ginger cider which was something special. food was generously portioned and well cooked. beautiful atmosphere as well. will return!
Best Cider in Perth. Food is amazing - tapas, sharing plates, mains everything! The ambience is great- casual garden setting looking over a valley with beautiful fruit trees. There is live music on weekends, check with them when it's on. Pre book for sure. It's a must go..
Dropped by after picking apples at valley fresh. Great environment and very kids friendly. Best beer battered chips I have ever had, awesome with cider or beer. Grilled barramundi was a bit too fishy and my grilled pork chop was a bit under cook but taste was not bad. Very busy on Sunday so prior booking might be a good idea.
Such a lovely place. Great area outside for the kids to run free, table service was spot on! We had the core platter and the arancini! Only thing I can fault is that there wasn't anything to dip the bread into on the platter. A little evo and balsamic would of been fab! We also had the tasting paddle of cider. A really lovely afternoon.
Really beautiful place to get away from the city. Only been there for brunch and during the Bickley Autumn Festival and would keep on going back. Please start your day with a mulled Cider then get the madame croquet with hashbrowns. Finish it all of with a pear Cider. Don't think, just do.
The weather was extremely hot when we went there and the staff had set up an outdoor small marquee that can fit 20 or so people. For customers who are not too keen to sit outside but still want to enjoy the view, there's also an indoor area that Core Cider House provides.
Core Cider's menu offered the recommended cider pairing and almost everyone opted for that option. Chris and I decided to try the cider tasting paddle (might as well!). I really loved the sour and refreshing flavour of Pith'd, their sparkling lemon. Another one that everybody seemed to go for was the COREreactor which offered the combination of pear and apple cider.
We had a mixed review of the pork belly since some people had a really tender and easy to cut meat while a few others and I found the meat really chewy. The crackling on the pork was perfect and we had no complaints about it!
Late post. The place is surrounded by apple orchards running up the hill😯We arrived at around 1:15pm, surprising didn't wait too long for the table, which was great, service was good and efficient. The cider tasting platter was great for us to try all of the ciders that they produce. Sadly, they didn't...
On Sunday, we went for a mini 30 mins road trip to CORE Cidar House in Pickering Brook for a friend’s birthday and man did I have a super awesome time while enjoying delicious food there!
Thank you Andrew for organising such a wonderful birthday lunch. I was so full with my main + the many many platters!
They only have 3 mains to choose from: pork belly, fish or the lamb cutlet. I guess the place is more for drinks (it’s called cider house – duh!) I ordered the CORE which is pork belly braised in cider glaze, truffle mash, red current jus and accompanied by the CORE reactor (the name of their cider). It is awesome. The pork belly meat is soft and juicy while the skin is crispy and super tasty. While the portion is rather average to the price that you have to pay, I still think it is worth it.
CORE platter is mouth watering but unless you are a big fan of honey chorizo (which is still salty even with the honey), prosciutto, salami and olives, I suggest you go for the Arrancini balls instead – it is big, filling, and taste good too.
Another good one to share is their simple sourdough bread which comes with not only the usual oil dipping, but also mixed peanut dressing which is totally eye-opening!
For the health-conscious/non-meat eater, I recommend the roast butternut pumpkin salad (French shallot, Danish feta, rocket, toasted pine nut, orange honey & poppy seed dressing) because it is really good – and believe me when I say this because I am not a salad person but I find this pumpkin salad sweet, fresh and delicious.
Overall it is very fun lunch experience with great food, great outdoor air, atmosphere & scenery! Definitely worth the drive.
Loved this place. Amazing views, cider and food. Definitely a must see place. They also have entertainment on the grounds, makes for a great day out.
My husband took me to Core on Saturday for a surprise Anniversary lunch. The grounds are beautiful and green with lots of views. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The cider choice is very good, I like dry cider and there was more than one choice which was fantastic. There were 3 mains to choose from on the menu, a pork, a lamb and a fish, I had the lamb cutlets and my husband had the fish. It was a little wait for the food to come out but it was well worth the wait. Everything was delicious! I asked for my jus on the side because I never like sauces in restaurants, they are usually over sweet. I got my jus on the side (I'm going to call it sauce because it wasn't really a jus) as I asked for which rarely happens, thank you chef for that! I tried the sauce with a piece of lamb as was blown away by how amazing it was, not sweet at all and very, very tasty. The sauce was so good I did something I have never done before - ever. I poured the sauce over my lamb and vegetables and then asked for some bread so I could eat every last drop. My husband really enjoyed his fish and even ate all the salad that came with it. The only complaint I have about the food is there wasn't enough of it, I could have eaten it all day :)It was a fantastic lunch and will definitely be back, we were both very impressed that we both enjoyed our meals. Cheers Core, awesome place!
We dropped in for lunch on Valentine's Day and the place was extremely busy, we were given a nice table outside.
The menu was good and we choose the Barra which was cooked perfectly and the beer battered fries were the best.
The place was full but the service was excellent, highly recommend dropping in for a meal kids and family friendly.

I have to share this next place with you because until recently I hadn't even heard of it. Even though it is about an hours drive from Perth is is absolutely worth the trip! The Core Cider House is in Pickering Brook (don't worry, I didn't know where that was until recently) and is a gorgeous little venue perfect for these stunning summer days. The staff are extremely friendly and accommodating which only adds to the chilled out vibe.
The Croque madame and it looked insanely delicious. Two gruyere cheese and ham ciabatta toasties with mustard bechamel sauce drizzled to the side of the dish, perfectly suited for dipping! The dish also included two eggs. The Croque monsieur on the menu is the version of this dish without eggs.
The Core Cider House Rules Last weekend my sister and I set off in search of orchards in Pickering Brook. The WA country is beautiful even when it's so close to the city. There are so many places in Pickering Brook that deserve another adventure but on this occasion we decided to aim for The Core Cider House. I had heard about the cider house from several people and I have always been interested to go there. It will not disappoint. Set on its' own orchard filled with beautiful oranges (at this time of year) we were also able to chow down on some amazing treats. The day we went it was raining and I don't mean drizzling. Lucky I had an umbrella or we may have been washed away. We sheltered from the rain inside the decking of the restaurant and it really is a sight for sore eyes. When we entered the premises we were instantly greeted by a lovely French gent who knew my name from my booking earlier in the day. The service is impeccable, our table was ready early and our waiter also greeted us by name. This to me is all cosmetic but it also adds value to your experience. The cider house has a relaxed feel. The friendly nature of the staff put you at ease and helps you feel completely comfortable in your surroundings. If you check out their website you can see more views from the deck at different times of year.I decided on the mulled cider for my drink which I have to say is every single bit as yummy as it sounds, when I came out it sort of looked like kombucha. It had this very strong cloudiness but the taste was divine. I'm hoping they still have it throughout spring and hopefully you can catch it too.For main course we often get something to share and this time was no exception. We spotted that there was a pork & steak meal on the menu that was for two. We did find the size a little small for two people at first but once we tucked in we realized there was a lot of munching to do on this plate. I ordered some extra veggies and they came out elegantly displayed on a long dish covered in balsamic sauce. Yum!While we were scoffing down our steak, pork and cider our eyes kept wandering to all the dessert deliveries happening around us. We instantly knew that the apple crumble was going to be in our bellies on the way home. It's a yummy dish and big enough for two. The plum sauce is a little strong and I would have preferred a milk chocolate sauce but the ice cream was amazing. Plenty of the ingredients are sourced on site at the Core Cider House and they actively seek out WA fresh produce to use at the venue. While we were on the deck there was an array of different family events happening, there were group gatherings, children's birthday parties and a hen's day. Core can cater for everything the fun and relaxed atmosphere makes the venue suitable for any occasion. It's definitely work a frolic in the orchard too for some great photos. Let me know what you favorite place to eat that's out of the city? Have you enjoyed a meal at Core? Let me know!
Excellent lunch. Excellent setting. Great value for money. Brilliant service. I would go back again for sure. Servings are much bigger that expected.
What a beautiful venue with great food. The share boards are fresh and reasonable for the price. When they put on live music it is the best vibe, throw down a blanket and line up for some food. Make sure you book as this place gets packed. (Oh, and be careful of the bees as you are sitting right next to the orchard!)
Where has this place been all my life! Hands down best breakfest I've had in Perth for a while. If you go here try the croque madame, you wont be disappointed. Try the paddle board of different ciders. Staff were friendly and scenery was fantastic. After breakfast we went to sit under the trees on the grass. A really nice place to go.
Yet another delightful outing at Core. This time it was a beautiful spring Wednesday with the grandchildren. The grounds and the setting are superb. The menu is interesting and the service very professional and friendly. This is a place where you should bring your overseas or interstate visitor. They will be impressed.
I've been here twice and had very pleasant experiences - was it the sunshine and alcohol? Maybe. Now I don't drink cider and white wines, they make me terribly ill, so have no idea if they are up to scratch. (Please put just one beer on your menu? Please!)
The food however, has been delicious on both occassions. 1. A cheeseboard, croquettes and chicken wings on the lawn in the sun was perfect. 2. A warm, rich, polenta dish on the patio for a friend's birthday was equally lovely. I highly recommend for special occassions, showing off a different side of Perth to your out of town friends or just because it's a warm day.
We decided to check out The Core Cider House as an option for our daughter's forthcoming wedding venue. It was a cold winters day but we arrived to a warm welcome with the heater next to our table turned on. The view was beautiful overlooking the orchard. My husband ordered the chicken wrapped in prosciutto on a bed of potato puree with a side of Brussell Sprouts. I had the Blue Groper with crunchy herb crust on a bed of potato puree with Brussell Sprouts. Our children had the kids meal that consisted of home made chicken nuggets served with salad and chips. My husband said the chicken was delicious although slightly lacking in seasoning. My fish was delicious and I really liked the crunchy herb crust. The only complaint we had with our meal was that the Brussell Sprouts were raw. I'm assuming they were meant to be lightly steamed which would have been lovely. The children's nuggets were  very overcooked and dry which was a bit disappointing. I mentioned our issue with the Brussell Sprouts to the attendant and he very kindly brought us a box of six gorgeous macarons as an apology. The mulled cider that I had with my meal was an absolute treat and my husband thoroughly enjoyed his own pint of cider. All up I think the place was lovely and we would definitely return and give it a second chance.
Excellent ciders and a fantastic spot between the apple trees food choice has got more vast recently service is friendly drink service needed to be faster defiantly on the repeat visit though
We recently had my sons first birthday at Core Cider House and it was wonderful!!! A perfect venue for a first birthday party with everyone catered for, yummy drinks for the adults, an amazing playground for the little ones and delicious food for everyone!
The staff were wonderful and it was a delight to host a party there. They even cleaned up afterwards for us!!!!
I loved it, we were made to feel so welcome. The heaters were on against the chill but we were also offered blankets to warm us up, however the apple and ginger cider did a brilliant job of that. I ordered the polenta lasagne it was tasty great and well priced. My husband had the Amelia park lamb which was succulent and a large serving. We shared the best sticky date pudding I've had in a long time!!!The service was friendly. We had a really lovely afternoon. Thanks we will be back!!!

After viewing some original and highly amusing promo videos on the Core Cider website, I knew this was a place run by people I could relate to. I’d already seen some impressive pictures of the playground, sand pit and plenty on offer for kids to do and discover while the adults conveniently sample the impressive menu and of course, the cider.
I checked their events page to make sure there were no major shin-digs planned for the day. They strongly recommend booking if you want any chance of getting a table, but after 2:30pm you can randomly rock up for the all-day lunch menu.
Barramundi. Grilled to perfection!
Had lunch here mid week. Tho a little on the pricy side for the food, the quality is very good and the location makes up for it. The staff were very also very friendly and professional and well likely be back for dinner one evening. Make sure you book though a dig looks like it may get busy. We arrived at 12 and many tables were already reserved on a mud week day .
Staff need training. Dropped in yesterday to sample CORE's offerings. It is a great setting - relaxed, well tended surrounds, rustic, rambling, even kid-friendly. A lot to like. Had the grilled prawns ($27) and Turkish bread, EVO and dukkah. Prawns were really enjoyable, while the turkish was good (but might be better to separate the EVO and Dukkah from the bread??).
Unfortunately, Perth's reputation for poor staff performance extends to the CORE (hah). We were one of very few early patrons, and while initially I thought the service was going to be good, was soon brought back to the reality of life in Perth. The question "would you like anything else?" was posed to us after our food had been consumed to which I responded "Yes - may we have a 'paddle' of ciders to taste?". 30 mins later without any further attendance from any staff member and my patience was gone, time to leave.
Please CORE, train your staff to REMEMBER simple orders, especially your core products (haha). I'm guessing its also the product with the biggest margin, so its not one you want your staff to forget. I'll definitely be back though, because as I said , there is a lot to like.
Great signature main - Pressed Pork but $57 is too expensive for meat, potatoes, onion and sauce. We shared and I was still hungry. If the serving had been larger then $57 could be justified.
Will I go again and will I complain about the $57 price again and the $11 pint of delicious cider to wash my pork feast down ? - definitely and definitely.
Always a beautiful experience no matter the weather. Delicious vegan options. I had the vegan nachos, miso aubergine and some sorbet. Partner had calamari, pork belly and the apple tart. Served up with delicious cider straight from the orchard. Core always delivers!
This place was recommended in an article I was reading this morning. So we decided we'd go for a cruise in our Camaro and explore the surroundings.
We didn't have a booking but they found us a table upstairs in the Orchard Bistro. It's a set menu of either 2 or 3 courses. We chose the 2 courses and our daughter had a kids meal.
We also ordered a paddle board of ciders. The ciders were quite refreshing. Not overly sweet like alot of ciders.
The staff were friendly and the food was just delicious. I ordered the slow cooked pork belly and the meat melted in my mouth.
After we finished our meal we wandered onto the grass/garden area and had ice-cream whilst listening to a lovely artist playing her acoustic guitar. A beautiful day out.
Beautiful lunch dining experience. A very busy location with the menu designed to deliver properly. 2 or 3 choose set menu but the ability to pick and choose. A bit like a la carte but not really. Simple and effective. Great setting in the orchard. Shady green lawns for family and some live music. Playground for kids also.
We’ve been here on a couple of previous visits to WA as it’s close to a family member’s residence and I’m glad for that. Love the pizza and beer or ciders here. Beautiful spot to spend some time and very kid friendly.
Family friendly, great staff and pretty good ciders. I could see coming here with some friends and wasting the afternoon away whilst the kids play.
I recommend the ginger cider, it was beautiful
Finally got here and so glad we came.
A large space with so much garden to sit and relax in. Bring a picnic rug on a Sunday and drink crisp apple cider whilst listening to a local musician.

Beautiful place with lovely grounds and views! Resto atmosphere was very nice and family friendly. The live music was a nice touch. We had a good 3 course lunch. Ingredients were fresh. The large served meat was cooked well but a little bland. Perhaps just needed more sauce or seasoning. The ice cream on the dessert was lovely! The ladies were lovely and accommodated us and our two young kids. We will be back for sure!
