Review Redcliffe On The Murray - Pinjarra

Always start my review with 5, and usually go from there after the experience. And this place deserves a 5 stars; good and beautiful location with spacious parking lot, great serving food, good portion, beautifully presented and fairly priced. Great for couples, family and friends gathering as well.

Service was very average, seemed like the manager there was avoiding serving drinks to people when it was busy and just kind of stood there. The food came out at a reasonable time and the lady serving was very friendly. There were 5 of us that ate and the food was reasonable as well, nothing to brag about though unfortunately. The establishment itself was nicely presented and clean. Was nice sitting there listening to the live band that was playing and looking at some of the wildlife cruising around.

What a beautiful location and venue for a gathering. We rode our motorbikes down from Perth, took about 1.5 hours as we went the inland road. Lovely ride on the bike. Anyway the food was delicious. The 'bridge' was great fun for the children in the party. Overall a lovely place to visit and to have a party, the history of the estate is interesting also.

We had a wonderful lunch today. Have never been before we sat in the sunshine it was a bit cold and even though they were busy with a large group it did not take long for our meal to come. The surrounding area is very beautiful and very relaxing hope to get back there before we leave WA

Long wait time for food (over an hr) sub standard food, I think they had staff issues though. Great location to the outdoor heater was very nice on a cold day! Decent beers on tap

Beautiful place, very peaceful. I have not personally eaten here yet but I will be very soon just due to how amazing the area is. Pinjarra town centre is only down the road. Its only about 100 metres from the local zoo. Definitely worth checking out.

Went for a wedding, had platters of finger foods, the whole afternoon and evening was amazing. Staff were very accommodating. Beautiful setting for a wedding.

Redcliffe on the Murray is a small intimate Restaurant. There is a very limited beer on tap selection but enough variety of alcohol to satisfy. In the winter months, the restaurant can only seat about 30 individuals. But in the summer months when they can open up the outside seating, it is spectacular. Whether you sit in the small dining room with the fireplace in winter or along the river front in summer, it is a quaint and quiet place for a meal both lunch and dinner. They rep a huge selection of vegan meals which was an absolute delight.

”NO Barista” deliberately rude staff & manager.<br/>We were impressed by the beautiful setting of this restaurant and of the initial friendly service from staff. We ordered the steak s/w with honey mustard & chilli jam, crispy chicken and bacon salad & 1 child’s menu. Plus a coffee and a tea. Total price $68. Not cheap but consistent with pub food prices. However the food was more like service station food. You couldn’t taste the steak because it was smothered in sweet chutney sauce that had neither mustard nor chilli flavour to it. The chips were brown. The chicken was dry, salad limp and no bacon on the salad. We discussed if we would complain but we decided as it wasn’t totally horrible (it was just not worth its cost & they could do way better for the price they are charging) so we would tell them what we didn’t like so they could improve. We felt compelled to be honest when the staff politely asked if we enjoyed it. We explained without malice that we thought it was below standard and the waiter said he would get the manager to come and see us. Thirty minutes later she had not ventured out but we thought that’s fine as perhaps she feels her staff are competent enough to deal with the situation. The waiter did finally come over and offered a free drink for us. I asked for a long black decaf to which he replied I’m not a barista so I ordered two takeaway teas instead. I watched the non barista make coffees for other patrons using the barista coffee machine and do any number of jobs before he decided to do our teas - probably another 20 minutes. Which would have been excusable had they been busy but there were only 3 other tables. Eventually he makes the teas but they are in mugs not takeaway cups. I ask for the take always & he says I’ll just grab them .... 15 minutes later we are standing in the middle of the place with screaming kids in prams whilst he walks past us picking up dishes and NOT bringing the cups. Again he could hardly have forgot as there are only 3 other tables. We decide to leave and as we do he smugly passes a cup. Here’s the thing, we are well traveled and are used to paying for overpriced food that is near tourist spots but NEVER have we been made to feel like this. The staff may have thought it was amusing to teach us lesson but we’ve been to many cafes in this district and they are always busy at lunch unlike the Redcliffe- so who is the joke really on. To make it worse for the owners we were actually scouting out potential wedding venues but anyone who could be late rude is not getting a second look from me.

Had a steak and it was cooked medium rare to perfection, staff were quick to deliver our food and beverages and overall satisfied with my meal

NEGATIVE.<br/><br/>6 Sept 2017.<br/><br/>Out first and only visit to this venue.<br/><br/>We had arranged to meet friends for lunch at Redcliffe as it is midway between both addresses.  It should be noted its not a restaurant its a pub.<br/><br/>My partner and I arrived early  so decided upon coffee while we waited for our friends. I've had far better coffee it was lukewarm and tasteless.<br/><br/>The layout of the venue is just a big open barn with a large bar its nothing more than a place for the Sunday session and listening to live music. Midweek it was quiet. The more formal dining area was closed we would have chosen that  option if it had been available.<br/><br/>The tables weren't set, menus were at the bar as was ordering, cutlery arrived with the food.  The wine list wasn't too bad.  No table-clothes, placemats just a bare table and this is where I draw the line.<br/><br/>While waiting for our guests to arrive and having coffee we were confronted by a woman changing her babies filthy nappy on a nearby dining table. Where do people get off using a dining table as a change table. I personally don't need to eat by a sewer and don't need to witness this. Take the child to the changeroom or go back to your vehicle to do its ablutions, show some respect to other patrons, you aren't that important. The staff did nothing. other than wipe the table down with a dirty cloth when the offending party had left. <br/><br/>Had we not arranged to meet friends at this venue we would have walked out at that point.<br/><br/>Not only did  this individual do it once she did it again a second time.<br/><br/>Venue: A pub. Food: Pub food Average. Service: Poor. Cleanliness and Hygiene: Questionable. Value for money" Not really. <br/><br/>Would I return:  NO.<br/><br/>If it were possible to rate it Zero I would.

Absolutely wonderful. Amazing service, food was superb and venue was stunning. We will be back!<br/><br/>This would be a perfect spot for a family lunch.

Very nice indeed. Surroundings make this place very pleasant and very Australian. Especially if you have guests from overseas. Good menu options and comfortable choice of indoor and outdoor seating. Have many photos of the extended family attending this great venue during their holiday with us.

Booked a function here... wedding to be exact. Had 2 meetings with the female owner. Eveything was going smoothly until 3 days before the wedding i get a phone call from a hire company who had spoken to the owner about delivery of some equipment and was spoken to in a very disrespectful manner told they can not deliver as they weren't told about it. Pigs ar$e they weren't.... When i ring the gentleman owner change tone however thought he would double check my menu choice of chicken parmi..... this is a wedding not a pub dinner and no that's not what i wanted. This scared me as it sounded like nothing was written down so i ask to meet the day before and was told no we are busy so you have to come the morning of my wedding..... i was not happy about this had to show them twice how i wanted the tables set out couldnt get that right told them where i wanted the ceremony and how i wanted it set up that was a big fat flop too. Appetizers where store brought frozen chinese dimsum which they managed to burn and once again dont remember agreeing to that. Mains were not to a wedding standard that was the only food they were cooking all night and still couldnt get that right.... lucky i didnt do dessert and stuck with the wedding cake as I'm sure if I did someone would have got food poisoning. After my partner and i left they went to chuck all the center pieces and stuff we hired in the bin. Thank goodness one of my guest stepped in and said something which she also got a very nasty response from the arrogant owner. Extremely dissapointed professionalism is all a nasty facade dont trust them at all. We choose this place for the views which are lovely and the only thing this place has going for it. A strict no return policy for us and family and friends. <br/>

DISGRACEFUL treatment from staff & managment - DO NOT GO TO THIS PUB!!!. Of all the thousands of places we have eaten in our lives, around Australia and the rest of the world, we have never been treated so appallingly! And the worse thing was that it was the manager (I think she was the actual owner too) that treated us horrendously! I ordered the vegetarian pizza and stated very definitely that I did not want pineapple on it. When the pizza came out I saw, to my horror, that it had pineapple on it! When I said that I had asked for no pineapple I was then treated disgustingly by the staff members and the manager. The manager’s attitude was so disgraceful that I’m still in shock. To cut a very long story short she steadfastly refused to believe that I had said no pineapple (even though she wasn’t even there when I ordered), and as the pizzas were in fact pre-made (which I wasn't told) she wouldn’t do anything about it! The manager said "well the pizza is already cooked and the menu says it has pineapple on it so we can't give you anything else - its your own fault". I then said 'but I clearly told this girl when I ordered that I didn't want pineapple - she didn't tell me they were pre-made!' What then erupted was a nasty argument from the manager in which she accused us of lying and that of course her girl didn't get it wrong. We then asked for our money back and the manager rudely refused. So we left, and lost our money. We were so shocked and upset about the aggressive attitude of the manager. She was the most horrible person we have ever met and it's so sad to see the terrible example she is setting to the younger staff members.

I cannot write a full review as didn't even get to have a meal. After checking online for somewhere in the peel region to have dinner my partner chose Redcliffe on the Murray for the beautiful location. We arrived at 6.45pm only to be told that the kitchen had closed half an hour ago (so 6.15pm !!) There was no apology nor offer to stay for a drink at the bar only an explanation of ' well we have been open since 10 am !'. Totally unacceptable for somewhere that advertises a dinner trade. I would never attempt to come here again after the reception we received and advise unless you like to dine at 5 pm to give this place a miss. Please update opening hours to save others the trip.

Avoid. Went to Redcliffe Barn for a work function - about 15 of us. <br/>We spent the first two hours having some drinks and listening to the exceptionally loud band. In this time, despite waitresses walking past our table numerous times, no one cleaned up the growing number of soda cans and glasses on the table or the plates from the bread/dips. <br/>It didnt get any better with dinner. <br/>Food took over an hour to arrive. Myself, my parter and the gentleman next to me all ordered steaks. Despite the orders being rare and medium rare, all three steaks were on the verge of well done. Barely a smidge of pink to be seen. The prawns were overcooked. The side salad seemed like it had been prepared a day or two earlier and was dried out and soft. For $36 too - On par with the general expensiveness of Perth, without the quality or the service to match. <br/>I wont be back

Ordered food, sat down half hour later told our table was actually reserved [though no reserved sign, just a number on table] by a very unhelpful waitress, moved to an alternative table by a much nicer staff member, food extremely disappointing, scotch fillets well done and very fatty, and asked for medium, 3 chicken salads, salad not fresh and chicken very over cooked, Thai salad beef, no taste beef too well coked and obviously marinated in store bought ? Teriyaki sauce, sea food blotter small but ok, really nice atmosphere with mellow live music but came for food which was awful
The Hungry Caterpillar
Don't even bother. By far one of the most disturbing dining experiences I have ever had.<br/><br/>To set the scene, there were 15 of us at the venue as it was our Christmas celebration. Let's cut to the chase. I ordered oysters as my entrée- disgusting. They were served with blocks of ice on top of each of them and looked as though they had been sitting and rotting in the freezer for months. When I complained to the waitress, I was told that I could get a refund for half of the dish as I had eaten half of it (I shared it with another person, until we couldn't bare to eat any more). Great, thanks...you're too kind.<br/><br/>I had also ordered scotch fillet as my main. I asked for it to be cooked medium- it came out burnt. So very, very "well done". They absolutely butchered it. But I still attempted to eat the dry thing because I had already complained about their oysters and I didn't want to cause a scene. I only managed to eat a quarter of it. Also, when I initially ordered the dish I was asked if I wanted their so called "mushroom sauce". The steak came out smothered in gravy. Gravy! Then why ask? It was quite funny, actually.<br/><br/>Finally, when I decided to bring it all up with them, they just offered a full refund for the oysters as I had already "eaten most of" the steak (which I really didn't!). I explained to her why I did eat as much as I did, but she just didn't seem to care. In all seriousness, there was no rational reason for their refusal to compensate for the steak. Even if I had not eaten ANY of the steak, what were they going to do with it? Re-sell it? Were they trying to say that I was just trying to get a free meal out of them?! I would not have eaten any of it, even if it were free.<br/><br/>In all honesty, people need to realize that when they are prepared to serve such uninspiring food to paying customers, that they have to be ready to compensate for it when they are caught out.<br/><br/>Today, they lost 15 potentially regular customers- all of which had their own individual complaints about the food. I hope the owner one day realizes that a little bit of customer service can go a long way.

Went for lunch on a Sunday afternoon. We waited over an hour for a couple of salads, kids nuggets and a pizza.<br/><br/>The pizza cost $18 and we bought it for two kids to share thinking it would be a big pizza as per other places. It came out on a small plate, wafer thin and burnt around the edges. For $18 it was a complete rip-off! <br/><br/>The chicken bacon salad for $21 was a small bowl of lettuce leaves with a few strips of chicken. Not worth it. <br/><br/>And the fact we had to wait over an hour for food that was not up to scratch, not happy.

Bad service. Great location and setting, food ok but small servings. We waited over 1 hour for lunch..... staff unhelpful and absolutely disgusted at rude manager. will not be back.

Okay food, serving sizes varied- hamburgers good but the platter for two was tiny, not enough bread and dips were okay. Pizza seemed to be a frozen pizza. Service was okay, not overly helpful but the girls were friendly enough. Setting was lovely. Keep expectations low and you'll be fine.

Not impressed. Meals are extremely over priced. I ordered a Thai beef salad, which cost $21, came out in a small bowl and was essentially just lettuce and a few strips of heavily marinated, very fatty pieces of beef. Not authentic Thai salad at all. Staff were unhelpful. For $21 for a bowl of lettuce I would expect excellent customer service. Instead we were expected to deliver glasses and water to our own table and place orders at the counter, despite being the only customers. Thoroughly disappointed, especially given the beautiful location.

Great atmosphere, great views of the bush land and river and a great outdoor area. It's a shame about the over priced and limited menu. The food was below average. Would be nice if there was more than two beers on tap.

We came to Peel Zoo, we didnt brought any food to we came here because it was very close. The food is excelent, the service is good. We had to wait for the food but it was worth the wait. The only thing a lot of flies.
