Review Alamanda Cafe And Providore - Point Cook

Great service, amazing coffee, didn't need to add sugar no bitterness. The breakfast large and delicious. Outlook lovely and relaxing.

Me and my hubby go here for lunch very often. Unusual and tasty food. Not the cheapest in the suburb but we like the cosy atmosphere, friendly staff and the fast service. The coffee and chai lattes are yummy too.

Have not been for many years since the last experiences were poor, and thought we'd try again after so long. Really pleasantly surprised and have been back a few times already. Friendly staff, nice enclosed outdoor seating that has a nice view of the water (and in the sunshine) and really delicious food. Consistently good every time we've been - great flavours, good amount of sauce, chips well cooked and overall good portion sizes. Only thing is coffee is a little on the weak side of you like strong. Otherwise will be going back regularly as a nice local cafe.

Heard a lot of this wonderful cafe. Today visited and couldn't agree more. Really warm customer service and people and very nice food. The place is very clean. Thanks for a great experience 🙏 will visit again and often👍

Words not enough to express, it was such amazing dinner night to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary 💕 at Alamanda Cafe - every effect was made by Pravin & Shila to make it most memorable night - 4 course meal - authenticity of food, wine to compliment the food & best coffee ❤ - the atmosphere is so welcoming & warm. Pravin & Shila are most friendly, experienced & knowledgeable when it comes to food. Highly recommend to support our local community.

It was a lovely , cosy Cafe with a beautiful lake view. The food was good , though I felt it was bit pricy!

We had a breakfast there and it was amazing! The design and the quality of the food was great! Loved it and will definitely go back there.

DISAPPOINTING. Where to start...went in for brunch with my partner, 40min for the food to arrive which 30min of them the chef was on his phone!! And by the look of things he was the only one. We were one of the 3 tables in total waiting to be served. No excuse for this delay. The more upsetting part was facing the dishes. I had the eggs Benedict (description: smoked lean ham, poached eggs and hollandaise sauce on sourdough $15.5) what arrived: a slice of sourdough with 3 slices of smoked ham from Coles, 2 overcooked poached eggs, hollandaise sauce. That's it! No garnish, nothing, plain. My partner ordered the avo smash with salmon (description : Avocado Luxe, with rocket, avocado, feta, poached eggs, and French dressing $21.8)<br/>What arrived: a slice of sourdough with plain rocket, avocado and feta mix, 2 overcooked poached eggs with 2 slices of smoked salmon fillet...overpriced. Both of the dishes had no seasoning. It's really sad to see a cafe in an area with very little competition to serve like that. No questions if I will ever come back.<br/>
Food Review Australia
Food was reasonably ok. I had the Rocket Avo dish with poached egg, avo & toast which and I found it overly expensive for a cafe in the west. Their service is pretty good and I love their scrambled eggs on toast. One thing the cafe lacks is the trendy vibe, good quality coffee & a wow factor in their dishes. If they can achieve that, I do believe they will get a lot more customers.

Service is always great, the staff are very friendly. Alamanda breakfast pan is one of my favourites, relish is delicious. Have also tried the smashed avo which was good but avo wasn’t too fresh otherwise it’s a nice little cafe on the water.

Beware!!! Very rude staff and will argue with you if you have anything to say about the food...very unhappy, family and friends caught up on Sunday morning and the sourdough bread was over toasted and the bacon was burnt, she argued with us and did not let us get a word in, never going back and informed other friends never to go to such a non friendly place, very bad experience, use to be very good before
MissCat
A nice place to have coffee, but some days service is slow. Food is not too bad but not those that you will be craving for it. Comes here once awhile, and overall is not too bad.

Restaurant was in a nice location, looked really beautiful, however the service was horrible! <br/>Walked in and stood around for a while till someone finally told us to sit wherever we wanted. <br/>Was told to get our own menus from the counter. <br/>Waiters/waitresses were rude & disorganised place was somewhat dirty. One of the coffees we ordered was burnt, the food and coffees also took a long time to come out. Wouldn’t return here especially for the steep price

Came here for breakfast with my family and we thoroughly enjoyed the meals here. The presentation of each dish was beautiful and the flavour is as good as the dish looks. The coffee here is good too. We will definitely be back!

Unfortunately we visited this café yesterday for brunch and was not pleased at all. When we walked in I asked a waitress if we could sit by the pool, she didn't stop walking to respond. She said we couldn't as it was part of the resort area (which is fine) but she didn't ask us to take a seat or indicate where we could sit, completely went on doing her thing and left us at the door. <br/>The food was below standard. The soft shell crab burger was terrible. My fiancé had ordered it and I went to take a bite. The crab inside was either off or old, had the most awful taste,I had to hold back from feeling sick at the table. Afterwards felt sick all afternoon. The mac and cheese bites on the side of it were cheeseless!!! Could only taste a buttery flavour. The poke bowl was flavourless, presentation was acceptable but I also look for taste! <br/>The egg was fried so much the yolk became dry on the inside. <br/>Staff not very responsive, no smiling or asking how the meal was when they came to pick up the plates. Will not be returning!

The foodies very nice with lots of variaties. Coffee is not bad. Love this place as they have great views next to the lake and area for kids to play. A great play for family Sunday brunch.

Great for a weekend breakfast...food is very nice & that is shown by the attendances on he weekend as it can sometimes be quite busy & hard to find a spot to sit...good variety of breakfast meals & having tried a few all have been very nice...coffee is very nice here as well!!!
Jay
Good coffee, it's fairly consistent. Food is good value, and is served fairly quickly. Breakfast is available up until 2pm with decent offerings.

Given us wrong burgers, very expensive, staff don't even speak English, bad communication, tables didn't have sugar+, we had to get up & get it from inside, the only positive thing is the view, the ducks & fake eagle's looks good, we all will not return, tried it out once & thats it, due to we had a B'day party at a local park, we where all hungry. You had to buy from counter & tell them table number, so if you want to order something, you must constantly go to counter. My Mother just told me her food was burnt on 1 side, so she didn't eat her expensive food, we got food from Coles & baker's delight on the way home, my sister in law was amazed how expensive her 3 children's food was, all they got is fish & chips & a drink, only a very small fish with 8 chips, omg, they live close we live more then 1 hour drive away, will never go back, we all fill sick know, hopefully not food Poison
Rebecca
The view from this cafe is really amazing surrounded by a lake. Had the full Scottish breakfast here which was really good, the black & white puddings were quite nice but the coffee was pretty average

Alamanda is a cute little spot which offers a welcome reprieve if you're exploring the lakes or nearby playground. The menu is not extensive, but the service and coffee is good and the staff are helpful enough. Food is priced as you would expect for an outer suburb cafe.
Olivia Fox
The food here was beautiful and quite possibly the best coffee I've had in a very long time. However, upon arrival one of the two wait staff just kept walking past whilst we stood at the door. We learnt for ourselves that the cafe is a grab your own menu, grab a seat and order at the counter. The cafe was not packed that day however our drinks were served after we were half way through our food. Even the cold drinks were served half way through eating as well. Whilst the service was a let down, the chef did an amazing job with the food.

Alamanda cafe is a pretty good option for those who aren't in the mood to drive to an inner city area for breakfast. Good to see point cook has somewhere for the locals to go to. Decent options on the menu and a good view from the outside
VegoLover
Creamy gnocchi was quite salty. Couldn't taste the pine nut pesto or pumpkin flavor. Lots of rocket helped lighten up the dish. This was the only vego option on the menu!<br/>Soy white hot chocolate tasted creamy without much chocolate. <br/>

Second visit here. Located next to a small lake which provide a great view while having brunch. Food was good, loved chicken parma which remain tender chicken fillet. The coffee was fantastic too. Service was a bit let down i guess, apart from food delivered, i hardly to see waiting staff appeared on my sight. Overall a good cafe.

Wonderful setting and guaranteed good meal every time. Excellent place to have the weekend brunch or a relaxed lunch with kids. The baby-cinos are very cute and we order one every time.<br/><br/>There is scope for improvement though ... better coffee would generate more sales and probably the second coffee order from customers like us who need one before and one after the breakfast.
Our Foodie Finds
A family friendly, great way to spend your Sunday morning place to eat and enjoy a nice breakfast. Even for your nephew to enjoy a baby-cino with some marshmallows. Food is reasonably priced and portions are generous and tastes like a standard breakfast should. Owner is friendly and comes around for a chat too to make sure your comfortable. Till next time, this is Our Foodie Find!

Found a very nice spot in Point cook with a decent seating area and a nice coffee. Breakfast was good and the staff was very friendly. Will definitely become a regular here, love everything about it

Over time Point Cook is getting more (and better) cafes that are similar to inner suburb cafes. Almanda is one of the better known cafes in the area and for good reason. Breakfast caters for all tastes and can range from simple toast to a full English Breakfast. Lots of seating and lovely cafe.

This was the biggest disappointment today.<br/>I went here for breakfast 2 months ago and it was great so today we decided to try out the lunch menu.<br/>Utter waste of money.<br/>I had the club sandwich with chips - $18... <br/>Thinking I would get a traditional club sandwich - made with 3 slices of bread, chicken, lettuce, tomato, bacon, cheese (and this one had egg as an ingredient). Cut into triangles, held in place with toothpicks etc ... remembering I did pay $18 for this!<br/>What I got was a toasted sandwich cut in half with chunks of chicken, a fried egg, limp lettuce that was black on the ends in parts, melted cheese and bacon. <br/><br/>My daughter ordered the kid's spaghetti with chicken in cream sauce for $8.<br/>There would not have even been 1 Cup of spaghetti in the dish... so she ate my hard chips from my plate.<br/><br/>Considering how great the breakfast was a couple of months ago I was extremely disappointed. Can't recommend this cafe and certainly won't be back.<br/><br/>Shame cause it is a nice atmosphere.

Always well impressed by the food, coffee and service here. So glad we have a place like this to call our local. Food is always consistently good and the service is always friendly. Great family cafe/restaurant!
Kj
Nice atmosphere, the food is a bit hit and miss but the coffee is great. They have a great kids corner with colouring books, and a lovely view of the surrounding parkland.
MsLizzyK
This place is getting better - we have just started going back here after it went really down hill. We love the breakfasts here (although sometimes the wait staff need some prompting) and the coffee is okay.
Lenny Loveschicken
Lovely Place. Grat food and service with a lovely atmosphere!
Sally Kime
Food average nothing exciting about watery scrambled eggs <br/>But what made me ban never to go back was how staff allowed outdoor smoking what was banned in aug 2014 <br/>Staff where advised of this as we where eating and it's disgusting . Staff choose not to address this to the man smoking because it was the OWNER !!! What a pig thinks his can do this
Wiggieone
I like it. I have been here quite a few times now, even this weekend ,i don't get all of the bad reviews either. The coffee is perfect as were the meals and im pretty fussy. You have to go to the counter to order and pay Big Deal its not the only place in melbourne you have to do this. The meals are quick too
Dwwde
The best cafe in the area. If you enjoy relaxing at the cafe this is the place to visit.
Julie.kampen
Julie. Disregard the negative comments on this café. 18 of us went there for brunch and the staff were attentive, the food was great and when the food came out, we were all eating at the same time. Coffee excellent. Would go there again.

I can't speak for how it used to be here but our recent experience was really pleasant. Being on this side of town was a challenge for us overall as we usually breakkie on the weekends in and around St Kilda or bayside. But Alamanda was a pleasant find. Nice fresh food, not too pricey, good coffee but the best thing was the service. Couldn't be friendlier! I spilled my coffee all over the table - the barista cleaned it up and then made me another and refused to let me pay. Next time we're back in the area - we'll be back for sure!

Just Awful ...!!!. We used to so love this lovely little Café in our Estate. After a more than ordinary meal a few months ago...We thought we’d give it another go on Sunday afternoon. Never again...!!! The food is still horrible, if not worse than our last visit...the service is ordinary...and no wonder that on a lovely Sunday afternoon the place is empty....This place had so much potential...now it’s just a waste of good space in the lovely Alamanda Estate...!!
Linda Wataszczuk
Never again Alamanda. Had not been to Alamanda for quite a while and after today's lunch, never will again. Only two other tables for Sunday lunch and what a disappointment it was. Now have to order from counter, told to take your own cutlery, water, glasses. Chose the veal parmigiana, only to be told "there isn't any". So ordered one Moroccan baked eggs, one Spanish baked eggs and one Penne with Avocado chicken in a creamy sauce. No difference between the Spanish and Moroccan eggs, except one had what was supposed to be lamb sausage and the other chorizo. What came as chorizo was actually chopped up salami and the lamb sausage was sliced meat of some description, both had over baked eggs and a very runny capsicum sauce - horrible. And the sourdough toast was just a slice of white toast bread. The pasta was not hot enough, adequate chicken and a couple of bits of avocado - very average. Dessert of berry cheesecake - it was the last lonely piece and so stale it was cracked and required two forks to cut into it. The lemon tart was acceptable. Staff were pleasant enough but not trained - although there were hardly any customers, when the waitress came out with our meals, she wasn't sure what to do with them. And to top it off, we had to ask them to remove the plates when we had finished. They even brought the dessert and left the lunch dishes on the table. Easy to see why the cafe was almost empty on a warm sunny Sunday. It used to be a good local place to go but I couldn't even give it a one out of 10 now.

Terrible quality food. Ordered kids fish & chips... Fish was grey in color, out of a packet & tasted terrible. Wouldn't give it to my dog, let alone my 2 year old. Much better places in Point Cook..
Kerrylyn
$4 for a small Vittoria coffee is a bit steep. I only buy it for convenience and location, and the barista actually knows how to make it (albeit a bit slowly, and in her own time). This place has so much potential, they just miss the mark. It's heading from upmarket to tacky.
BMX
Absolutely DISAPPOINTING. This place had so much potential when it first opened, we would eat here sometimes twice a week. <br/>On last trip to eat, under new management, ordered a beef burger for $15+ and out came 2 patties of the cardboard type 'homebrand' frozen burgers. So disgusted! It is not hard to make your own burgers from some mince, even if you are going to cheat, at least buy the proper looking burgers from a butcher or Coles! What a joke! To top it off there wasn't even any kind of sauce!Partner ordered calamari salad which used to be awesome, came out with about 4 tiny strips. RIP OFF. I don't understand who or from what era this place is now being run. Such a shame.
Karla
What happened?!? This used .... What happened?!?<br/>This used to be such a lovely place to eat. The staff we're great, the menu was simple, and the food was fresh and easy. I don't know what the new owners think they will achieve with the changes they've made, but we will never be eating here again. Service, food, everything, massive disappointment.
David Greenwood
Went to the cafe today for the first time. Didn't even get anything. Walked in and picked up a menu only to be told the kitchen was closed. This was fine as we decided to grab a takeaway coffee instead. Only to be told no, we are closing in 45 minutes. 45 minutes, and could not have a coffee. Would not recommend remotely. Bad service. I suspect its convenient location is the only reason it has customers.
Amanda Dartnell
Prompt and smiling service, coffee good. Very welcoming of kids. Liked the fries. Only disappointment the fish with kids meals was yuck.
Lisa
We were regulars until recently. Initially the coffee was great, food was tasty and service excellent. We have been a few times in the last few months and everything about the place is awful. We've given it a few tries purely because its walking distance to get a coffee but I won't be back after my last visit. Coffee was undrinkable, scrambled eggs I took one bite of and left with a full coffee and full plate of food still sitting on table. I would avoid this place completely
Ben
Nice area and feel, but food and service needs work. Went there for Mothers day breakfest, food was luke warm and service slow (took nearly 10min for a soft drink to come). I think if they can approve i might go back.
Gunjan
May be the owner should sell it and should be taken over by people who has a passion of food
Amalie
Terrible food. For the last 3 years my partner and I have been eating at Alamanda Cafe and Providore on a regular bases. <br/><br/>They used to have fantastic and friendly staff who you could have a chat with, fresh and tasty food, excellent table service, a happy hour on Fridays and weekends, and also used to promote local live music. The coffee wasnt that great but the barista's did their best and because everything else was good we continued to eat there.<br/><br/>The cafe has changed hands recently and it has honestly gone downhill. They no longer offer table service, they serve fatty frozen foods in place of their old fresh meals, they now only employ school aged children who do not know what good customer service is, the meal sizes have reduced and they have resorted to cheap food options (e.g. fresh local oj is clearly now long-life heat treated oj, a side of mushrooms which costs $3 is 1.5 mushrooms cut up into little pieces). <br/><br/>We went today (I assure you it is the last time we will ever go there unless they change hands again) and there were stacks of dirty plates behind the counter, tables were dirty with food stuck on them, food did not come with promised condiments (and when pointed out the waitress did not seem to know the contents of their menu). <br/><br/>Really disappointing. Luckily there are now a few other options around to go to unlike a few years ago when this was the only local place to get breakfast and lunch.
Jeanette
I am a regular customer and l love your cafe not just for the coffee but for the service, I was at your cafe on Sunday and was absolutely appalled at the way your management spoke to his employees in front of customers, I was even more shocked this morning when I went to have my morning coffee only to find that my favourite barista Renee was no longer in your employment, I will not be returning to your cafe

Sadly Regulars no more.... We have been regulars at Alamanda cafe for the last year or so but sadly after our last few experiences there, we won’t be coming back for a meal unless some MAJOR changes are made. The wait staff have always been nothing but lovely, attentive and provide great service. They always give my daughter a lot of attention - so much that she even gives them hugs when she leaves. If they could just get the food worked out, it would be our favourite restaurant. <br/><br/>They recently made changes to the operations and food - NOT for the better. Much to their detriment, actually. The food quality has dramatically declined & they took our favourite dessert away, the salted caramel macarons. (Which I don’t get, considering they were ALWAYS sold out!) You now have to order at the counter which I don’t like at all considering the wait staff are one of the main reasons we keep coming back.<br/><br/>The French toast with “Berry Coulis and Double Cream” is now flavourless eggy bread (no cinnamon or vanilla flavour) with a teeny bit of berry garnish, a slight drizzle of fake maple syrup & cheap WHIPPED cream out of a can. My 4 yr old who LOVES french toast spit it out and wouldn’t eat it.<br/><br/>The Spanish eggs were a complete disaster, having to be sent back 3 times. Once there was no chorizo in it, the next two times the egg whites were 75% raw.<br/><br/>Last week, we came in for dinner around 7pm on Saturday night & they were shutting down because there were no customers for HOURS so we had to find elsewhere to eat! (Not a good sign, sadly!)<br/><br/>Tonight we went again to try out the “new menu” for dinner. I got the chicken Parma which WAS my favourite parma ever (we used to drag family and friends up from Geelong to try it) used to be a big chicken breast, covered in yummy herbed breadcrumbs, ham and mozzarella, served with amazing battered chips. Now it is a smaller chicken breast, coated with a thin layer of flavourless breadcrumbs and 1/4 of the mozzarella and served with standard, bland chips - for the same price. Very disappointing.<br/><br/>Hubby ordered the ribs and I cannot find the words to adequately describe how disgusting they were. They couldn’t even be cut through with a knife and my daughter was plugging her nose because they actually smelled gross. I tried a bite & couldn’t even bite all the way through they were so rubbery - they smelled and tasted like they had been cooked & then reheated in the microwave. Worst ribs we have ever eaten by a mile.<br/><br/>My daughter had the fish and chips, her usual - they used to be beautiful pieces of white fluffy fish in a yummy herbed batter, and now are processed, triangular pieces of gray, fishy tasting freezer fish. She wouldn’t eat any of it, total waste of money.<br/><br/>We will come back for coffees only just to visit the staff we adore but until the food and operations change, we won’t be eating another meal at Alamanda cafe. I sincerely hope the owners take this feedback seriously as we want our favourite restaurant back!! :(
Jordan
It is no longer the place it used to be. I used to come here EVERYDAY for my daily dose of Coffee, Macaroons and smiles from the girls! Now the new owner has decided to get rid of the macaroons because he is not making ENOUGH money out of it. Well atleast the girls are great. Love em' :) I wish this place gets a new owner!!
Adam
Worst cafe in point cook. It used to be a nice place for breakfast and lunch, but since the new owner took over the quality of food has gone down.<br/>the chef working their don't know how to cook food, bacon like rubbery its for sure was not grilled may be deep fried, scramble eggs cold and overcooked.<br/>tomato not seasoned and breaky comes with a 3 to 4 pieces of sliced mushroom common owner you r charging 18 dollars how much you want profit thats why you bought 8 restaurant on the town itself<br/>bit surprised when a kid said that all the people working are cash in hand<br/>never ever going back , and hope who ever reads this will go to this cafe
Jeremy
Had a good time with Lynn, beautifully cooked salmon and chicken, fruit de mor sauce also not bad , good job guys,we Will come back, anyway thanks for the Little free drink
Ada
Good food good service. Went for Valentine's day with parter tonight, price was bit high, but good food, especially the wagyu wrap with green mango salad, absolutly amazing, Jim perfered the bread pudding, service was good ,waitresses are nice, good place to go
Prue
After waiting for our meals for 40 mins+, the waitress comes running up to tell us she 'forgot' to put our order through. Good food, terrible service.
Wiser
Service is at best, bloody awful.<br/><br/>We have been there a few times, the change of owners signaled the downward spiral of both quality of the food served, and the service. The unjustifiable hefty price for the pastries is astonishing.
Chefep
Sorry, was not impressed. Went there recently, nice enough menu, good decor, but service was poor, and overhearing a staff member say they had a headache is not reassuring. Ordered my meal and came out wrong, so they tried again, this time received an enormous burger bun, which I later found out to be a foccacia, but not the brioche as listed. Also should have been rocket and parmasen salad, rocket was replaced with mesculin and parmasen cheese was grilled onto the top of the burger. When I asked is this a brioche, which I new it was not, I was told they have replaced the items when the new owner took over. New owner took over months ago, why not change the menu so people know what they are about to receive. Coffee was good. They have lost my business, cost to much for one egg and one piece of bacon on a big bread roll.......Bring back the brioche.
Lucia
Great for Coffee & Breakfast. Love this place for breakfast and coffee. Love the poached egg with rocket , avocado, feta, lime dressing on sourdough ! Di Bella's coffee is fantastic.<br/>Great to outside in summer.

Fawlty Towers. We have been here a few times and the service has been universally dreadful. Either it takes an eternity to get any food, it's all in the wrong order or half of what you have ordered fails to arrive. Last time I ordered a side of fries for my daughter as she wasn't so hungry. I had to remind them 3 times they had forgotten. By the time they brought it the rest of the family had finished their meals. A good restaurant would have given us the fries for free. Not this one.
Hungry Ronin
It's fine. Went here last Friday night when they had a duet of a guitarist and vocalist. I had the fillet steak which came with a glass of wine and my friend had the fish and chips. Was it the best streak I've ever had? No. But it's not bad either. I asked for medium rare, which was done nicely, and the salad and potatoes were faultless. The fish batter was also good - crispy - and kept the fish's flesh moist. We ended the meal with a sticky date pudding (clearly not made in-house) which was delish. There is only one gripe that I had, which was that the wine I got with my meal was rubbish, realy bottom of the barrel Shiraz. Overall the cafe makes a good attempt at pleasing everyone with the 'can-do all' menu (risotto, curry, steak), but I'm rational enough to know such a kitchen won't deliver spectacular gastronomy. I don't expect that, I won't expect that. So to me this cafe with its small faults is fine as it is, and I will happily return.

Anything but the Steaks and Service.. Steak night Fridays was awful. Steaks served were tough as rubber and our party had to fill ourselves with the condiments. Feedback was provided to waitress, without any follow up action. Feedback was provided again when we were settling the bill, and what I imagined to be the senior manager retorted the steaks were meant to be like this and if we had wanted tender steaks we should have ordered fillet mignon. Which was not on the menu. This used to be our favorite cafe and we have recommended friends and neighbors to this establishment. Utter disappointment it has become.
Nathan
Lovely atmosphere great service, will be coming back!
Ashlea Winters
Absolutely terrible!!!... New management have no clue what they are doing. Steaks were over cooked and the children's meals came out 50 mins after the other mains. The manager/chef is completely rude.
John
I had come in with my family on the weekend for brekkie and the serves was very bad it took 20 mins before we got our drinks and the coffees were not even that. i had order eggs Florentine i had asked to make sure that the egg were very runny when i had got my food the eggs where hard as a rock and they were cold.<br/>was not happy i wont be come back there for brekkie.
Cackas
Great little place. Staff were lovely and very attentive, food was delicious and atmosphere was nice. Will be back :)

A nice new local cafe. A lovely new spot in Point Cook that has a village feel, not like you're in a shopping centre. Very nice ambience, family friendly, a little more pricey than expected but will definitely be back as I love cafe's like these!
Vanessa Daddy
Everything about this place was tops...the food was excellent, the staff were friendly and obliging ..... They even search for a cocktail recipe for Dom Pedros for us..,,very impressed. The live music was really good too
Firebee
Inconsistency services. Sometime the service is good, but yesterday i felt i was not welcomed there. the coffee quality is depends on the staff too. well, not sure if I am going back there too. Heard the cafe is for sale now.

After sitting outside we were left waiting for almost 10 mins for menus to arrive. Eventually the wife got up and got them. Gee I love it when she takes control like that. Ordered the beer battered fish fillets and chips, and the wife had the eggs benny. A little disappointing that our 2 yr old had to wait a little longer before his schnitzel and chips came out - our meals cooled down considerably by the time junior's food was served. Our meals were served promptly and were ok. We can't fault them. But it does feel like we used to brag about the food and crave going there more when they had the old menus. These days it isn't on our hot list. We will be back though. Our son's favourite waitress is back and we just like dining at this location. One last thing though - was I meant to get tartare sauce with my fish?!
BH
Not cheap, not bad, not sure if I'll be back.. Went there for lunch, it's a nice space with lots of windows and ambience, which I guess you are paying for the privilege of in the prices. $20 for a burger is not cheap, it was OK, but not a huge portion or really delicious either, so no points scored there. The fish and chips were OK, again not great and not ample for a hungry patron either. My friends pasta was underdone she said. <br/><br/>Might be nice for a brekkie, I don't know yet, but $58 for lunch for two, including beer, lemon bitters and a latte is not cheap, really I think you are paying for high rent and atmosphere. Unsure as to whether I would return. <br/><br/>As for the so called "nuffs" who complain, their service and food experience is their own. <br/><br/>If that happens to be a bad one, then they have every right to complain.
Vls
No Excuse. Had coffee a few days ago and the service was good, coffee also. Today was a different story, not busy but a wait for the order to be taken at the counter and a 30 plus minute wait for two coffees, with less than a dozen people in the cafe. When inquiring on the timeframe, , told they had come and asked twice who the coffee was for. This is incorrect only staff member in sight was a man delivering an order to another table. Simply say you forgot or whatever the real reson was, instead of making something up.
Wanz
Getting better. 1st time we went - good food and good service<br/>2nd time - ok food and terrible service ( we waited over an hour for our food and it was empty in there )<br/><br/>- i wrote an email to them telling them how horrid the service was <br/><br/>3rd time - new chef, new staff and awesome service !!<br/><br/>Will go back again for sure !
Sally
OMG what went wrong. This place is going down hill fast. Was in three weeks ago with excellent service and amazing food. Was in two weeks ago and again excellent service with average food, forgivable. went back this week with very poor service and terrible food. 3 strikes your out. Not returning
Shelley
Customer service ...not. Hey guys get your act together customer service is a huge part of hospitality
Clivenme
Very scrummy brekkie! Cant believe it's just stone's throw away! One of the best sour dough and not even a fan of carbs! Definitely coming back and try out their lunch and dinner menu! Yummm!

Love love love it. Went to Alamanda cafe recently and had a wonderful experience. Service was amazing and food was great. I was greeted straight away, seated and presented with menus, the specials were described to me with even a suggestion after I asked for a recommendation. Order was taken, drink then meal delivered in standard time. Plates cleared and desserts with coffee suggested. Loved my time and would most def go back, in fact I made reservations for lunch this week.

Bad Services kill everything. When the cafe first open 2 years ago, although i do think that it is little pricey but the food is good and the services is also great. <br/><br/>But recently experieces has stopped me from going again. Their services have definitely slipped, sit there for 20mins and still no one attended, when i place order, they seems to run out of patience, and i have to wait at least 45mins to get the food and it is ordinary. I thought they may be busy (was a busy morning) so i went there again 2 weeks later, and still the same.. Not happy and not going back again

Disappointing service. Average food. Not recommended. We live in the area so we really wanted this to be our go-to place for our weekly weekend brunch, unfortunately like the other reviews, it has really gone downhill in the past year.<br/><br/>Service can be arrogant and slow. 20+ minutes to get a coffee (take-away or dine in). Orders get forgotten or mixed up. Meals are served 10 - 15 minutes apart (and wrong, which we didn't bother asking for it to be corrected since we would have to wait even longer). They still charged us full-price. <br/><br/>The quality of the food has really decreased since we first went. It might have been tolerable for the convenience of the cafe's location (so we kept returning), however with the worsened service, we have given up on Alamanda Cafe.

Thumbs up. I have dined in this cafe a few times now and have never been given a meal I didn't enjoy. The breakfast stack is to die for!! I have noticed that management has seemed to have changed, but i believe for the better, the prices are what you would expect to pay and I believe their menu is wide and accommodating. I attend almost every sunday with a few friends who, like me enjoy the live music and few drinks in the sun (or in front of the fireplace if it's cold!) Huge thumbs up to Alamanda for providing just what Point Cook needed (What Coffee Club is lacking).. A great venue, great food and great service with great prices.

Really gone downhill. Not recommended.. My partner and I used to go here at least once per weekend, and often twice. They used to serve quality food at very reasonable prices for the quality and with good service. It did have a good menu that would get changed up every now and again with new exciting stuff. But I think it changed hands recently and the quality of the food and service has dropped really, really badly. <br/>Home-made hash browns have been replaced with deep fried supermarket crap. Previously nice fresh bread, now half stale cheap stuff. You'd be better off going to McDonalds as far as food quality now.<br/>Service has also slumped big time. I recently visited with my dog so sat outside... waited around 15 mins and no service. Went to door to try and attract attention but couldn't, so walked.<br/>After some pretty average meals recently the latest visit was the final straw for us. Ordered some fresh orange juice (like used to be served) but instead we were served some reconstituted cheap supermarket crap. Coffees ordered as soon as we arrived didn't arrive until after our meals. Part of my partner's order never arrived. My meal of what used to be a really nice toasted egg and bacon roll on a nice bread roll arrived as bacon and sloppy fried egg in a stale and cheap turkish bread thing.. served cold. I didn't eat it and told staff it was stale. I wasn't offered a refund or apology. When paying it wasn't even acknowledged that I'd complained about the food to the wait staff.<br/>Amazing how bad this place has become as we used to really like it!

Went here for breakfast on a relatively quiet Saturday morning with my partner, was not attended to by staff so I had to find the menu myself.. Waited about 15 mins before staff acknowledged we were there and decided to take our order. Once our order was taken we waited about 25 mins for a small breakfast (which I may add was extremely over priced for what we received) we also received food we did not order and were forced to pay for it. I've had better poached eggs for half the price. $45 for breakfast for 2 Is pretty rediculous for the area it's in. Terrible service, average food and very expensive

Try it out. You wont regret it. Great venue. I have been numerous times for dinner. I haven't had a bad meal yet. I also had my birthday there with 50 guests. Loads of food and the service was fantastic.<br/>Wyndham residents should give this place a try. AAA+++

This place needs to realise where it is & who it's customers are. It's too over priced for a "cafe" in the suburbs. It's not Toorak guys, get with it. The coffee, while being great, takes too long to get. Seems to have a lot of new staff recently, it's a pity as the last ones did a better job. Lower your prices and improve your service because the cafe is a nice venue.

I went one morning for breakfast with a few friends.. it wasn't busy in there at all.. however it took 40 minutes for my breakfast to come out and the service was appalling! <br/>also I had to ask for my coffee 6 times over 20 minutes (this is not an exaggeration)<br/><br/>Absolutely Appalling!<br/><br/>Also a little overpriced for what you get but the food when it did eventually come out was nice.
Delectably Scrumptious
What a shocker. Very, very, bad service. I have been here 4 times (each time thinking it would have to be better by now) and it is still a shocker, staff don't care, there is no service at all, coffee is average, cakes look good but i have never received what i order so i would not know how they taste, yet to see a menu, even after asking for one on each visit, the service reminds me of a bad 3 star hotel, lift your game you may be out in the suburbs but you charge the same as the great cafe's in the CBD, get some systems and get organized you are a laughing stock

Fantastic Function Venue. I recently attended a birthday party at Alamanda Cafe. What a fantastic place for a function! There was plenty of finger food all night (no-one went hungry) and the quality was outstanding. All food was freshly made in-house by the chef. Excellent service by the wait staff - i was very impressed and would consider this one of the premier venues in Wyndham for a varirty of functions.<br/><br/><br/>-----11 Apr, 2011-----<br/><br/>Excellent Food and Service. Have visited the Alamanda cafe numerous times over the past 6 months for dinner and each time we have not been disappointed. The food is excellent, good value, freshly cooked and well presented. they have a small menu but very varied so there is something for everyone. The service is also outstanding with friendly and helpful staff. Give it a go and you will not be disappointed.
