Friendly staff and great food will be back
Amazing coffee, incredible food and impeccable service.
It's a really cute cafe, the inside is quite small but they have outside seating which is really nice. The staff are really friendly and lovely, very polite and well presented. I had the salmon cured miso and my friend had the wild mushrooms and the presentation of the dishes are impressive, really pretty. The salmon was cooked really well and the risotto rice underneath was crunchy which was surprising but good, I really enjoyed my meal. đ
đ±Lizzieâs first impression: aesthetically pleasing food, tasty and modern brunch dishes
đ©Lizzie enjoyed: I was actually really surprised by the quality of food that was presented to me.
I tried the mushrooms on toast dish and it was amazing â had the citrus tang to the sauce that made the dish perfect. It was presented well and I would go back just for that. The salmon dish was cooked really well and perfect for those who like a healthy but meaty lunch. I also got to try the bircher museli which tasted phenomenal â loved the dried fruits on top that gave it more texture. It wasnât too sweet either which was great and perfect for breakfast.
đ
Lizzie did not enjoy: Now this cafĂ© is perfect for locals and is a little far as it is situated all the way in Point cook but that is not to say that the drive wasnât worth going for.
đ„Lizzie rates overall: I loved this cafĂ© so much and the staff were so friendly. Highly recommend.
Such a great find in the Westside!
Food was fresh, delicious and beautifully presented. Portion size is always a hit or miss at any brunch place but I left with a happy stomach!! The menu itself is super exciting, canât wait to try some more :)
Also, customer service was đ
Inviting, warm and enthusiastic. SAY NO MORE!

THE WESTERN SUBURBS IS BRINGING OUT THE GOODS!
Located in Point Cook, this place is definitely worth the visit. This cafe is showcasing what the western suburbs has to offer and with its impressive menu, there is so many things to love about this cafe!
The cafe has a cosy and warm interior, with the aroma and sounds of coffee being made lingering inside the cafe. Equally, there is plenty of alfresco seating to enjoy the sunshine.
The menu was super impressive! It was succinct with all day breakfast and lunch menu dishes with plenty of intriguing and unique flavours. We ordered the Super Smashed Avo, Pork and Apple and Sweet Potato Waffles. All dishes were presented beautifully but more importantly, it tasted amazing! With fresh and flavoursome ingredients, these dishes has easily become of our faves in 2020.
Equally important, their coffee game was strong and highly recommended !
This easily is a neighbourhood and local gem where staff knows your name and your regular coffee order.
We would defintely return to try their other dishes because as mentioned, many of the dishes intrigued us!
Came here to try out the food as I've driven past it almost every day on my morning commute and have heard very good things and I was not disappointed.
The staff were welcoming and helpful when choosing to order as well as the other customer they served who wanted to gain information about coffee beans. Ordered the miso cured salmon and it was delicious, the flavours were balanced with the rice, the sauce and the miso and was very delicious.
Would definitely come back again with friends and try more things on the menu!!
This cafĂ© is situated opposite the Featherbrook shopping centre â we thought it was within the area and had a hard time finding it. Eventually when we found it, we were already half an hour late and their kitchen has closed, but they were so nice to take our order and hence why the cafĂ© had stacked chairs (which Iâm sure doesnât look like that if I came earlier so it was my fault).
We started off with a cappuccino and a latte. They tasted nice and my grandma liked it.
For the food, we had:
BLACK SESAME AND BEETROOT GRANOLA â House-made granola, black sesame pannacotta, fresh fruits, beetroot yoghurt foam â Apparently this was new on the menu so had to try it! The black sesame pannacotta was something different! It was nice when combined with the granola to give it a crunch. The beetroot yoghurt foam was also very interesting too!
MUSHROOM FOREST â Roasted, grilled and dehydrated mushrooms, pickled zucchini, truffle mayo, fresh dill and fried egg â This was really nice! The mushrooms were so nice and juicy and full of flavour! The sourdough bread wasnât as hard as well, and tasted really good together.
SWEET POTATO WAFFLE â Belgian style waffle with sweet potato, maple syrup, fresh fruits, cocoa and almond soil, green tea cream cheese â One of my favourite dishes â the sweet potato waffle was very chewy unlike the normal waffles. You can taste the sweet potato in it and along with the green tea cream cheese â wow. So nice!!
Thank you Bean Smuggler.
It is one of the rare occasions @what.epi.eats travels to West side of Melbourne and when we do, it was always full of pleasant surprises. This time we came to Bean Smuggler in the outer western suburb of Point Cook. This humble cafe is very spacious and offers ranges of very interesting brunch dishes. Truly love the wide variety of choices in the menu and definitely you can see that this is not just your typical brunch place.
Yay: Coffee, Forest Mushroom, Sweet Potato Waffles, Miso Cured Salmon, Chilli Kingfish
Nay: N/A
The smuggler delivers day in, day out without missing a beat. It's always a pleasure to attend and enjoy whatevers on the menu. It's set the bench mark against any other location I've been to date in Australia- be proud guys! Will miss this place in 2021!
Who would have thought that one of the best cafes that I have frequented this year would be in the outer western suburb of Point Cook. Bean Smuggler is an unassuming cafe that quickly makes you fall in love with it, not just because of a fantastic menu, but also because of the bubbly and friendly nature of the three guys running it. It's hard not to feel welcome here, with it's fun vibe and comfortable ambience. The cafe was literally packed inside and out, and once we tried the food, we discovered why.
The team at Bean Smuggler pride themselves on the fact that they steer clear of the typical standard cafe fare, so if fry ups and avo toast are your go tos, be prepared to try something significantly different. Instead, the menu embraces fresh produce that is prepared with so much attention to detail, and there are definitely some Asian influences in the menu.
The mushroom garden is a perfect example of this ethos. A meticulously plated dish of a variety of mushrooms, sauteed to perfection, served atop crunchy toast. Curls of zucchini, fresh dill and a mushroom dust complement the perfect fried egg that finishes off the dish. This was a savoury plate of perfection, unlike anything I've had at other cafes, and it really was as amazing as it looks.
I consider myself quite the porridge conniseur, so I was intrigued by the pumpkin porridge. This breakfast staple was a divine interpretation, with it's pumpkin puree blended through the grains, and topped with date puree for sweetness, pepitas for crunch and creme fraiche to cut through the sweetness. Beautiful pumpkin crisps were a highlight, as they added a nice chewy texture to the dish. I'm definitely a convert to this almost savoury version of porridge, and I savoured every mouthful.
Even though we were almost full, I couldn't pass up on the amazing sweet potato waffles. Two huge homemade waffles were drenched in syrup, and had thst fabulous texture of crispy outer layer encasing a beautifully fluffy centre. Served with a matcha cream, fresh fruits, crumb and ridiculously thin orange tuilles...so thin in fact, I could see through them. True food art, I was gobsmacked by how gorgeous they were. Everything on this perfect plate worked, with a great balance of textures and flavours; and just like the previous dishes, it was a complete work of art.
As expected, the coffee at Bean Smuggler is the same quality as the food, and really was faultless. This lovely little cafe may be out of the way of your usual brunch destination, but trust me when I say that it's well worth the trek. Exceptional food and service and a cosy, friendly atmosphere makes Bean Smuggler the kind of cafe that wouldn't be out of place in the inner suburbs; so the locals of Point Cook are so very lucky to have this brilliant venue on their doorstep.
The best in the town!
Good coffee services and food!
Very great atmosphere. Super dog friendly.
Food was delicious. Large outdoor seating with glass surrounds.
One of the best in Point Cook.Â
Food - we had Mushroom Forest (absolutely recommended) and super Avocado. Both were beautifully plated, and somehow all the different components worked well and complemented one another a lot. Really yummy and delicious.
Coffee - coffee was good and not crazily overpriced.
Service - very attentive and friendly.
Will come back again.
The finest food and coffee in Point Cook! Second visit in two days and you can see why. A beautiful Sunday morning spent with the family with incredible food, amazing coffee and great service. Bliss!
Dish 1: Super Avocado Toast with super seeds and turmeric mayo
Dish 2: Sweet Potato Waffles with matcha yoghurt and granola
Dish 3: Beef Cheek with salsa verde, blue cheese butter and avocado sided hash brown
Dish 4: Bacon and egg roll
Best Cold Coffee in the west, first class food and even better staff!
Couldnât speak higher of Jack, Will and the team
At Bean Smuggler.
You wonât be disappointed!
This little cafe in point cook was a nice surprise.. it was very busy and there were people coming in to the cafe even at 2pm in the afternoon..
The coffee was pretty decent and the staff there were quite friendly too..
they did a cold brew spritzer which was essentially a cold brew with tonic.. not a bad place to come for a coffee..
We love to venture all over Melbourne searching for interesting breakfasts. Today we found a gem! Lovely waitress, very personable owner. Excellent food that was delicious, generous and creative. Coffee was of a very high standard. We had the Chicken Sandwich and the Prawns and Chorizo on Scrambled eggs-the prawn bisque was divine. Will be spreading the word about this little find in the West. Weâll be back!
Lovely and friendly staff. Wonderful atmosphere. And amazing coffee. Usually hard to find a good coffee place in the west area, so Iâm so glad I found this place. Will return.
Happy with the strength, taste and consistency of my Long Black! Next time I would love to have something from the delicious looking brunch menu.
Impressed with the ambience, service and hospitality!
I drive 25 minutes for this coffee! The staff are super friendly and the coffee is fantastically consistent. keep doing what you are doing Bean Smugglerđđ»
Quality coffee and matcha lattes in the âburbs?! Yes indeed, both have been available in Point Cook for the last 8 months thanks to the folks at cafe Bean Smuggler. But they do more than just deliver your caffeine fix, serving up quite the exciting brunch fare.
Located in the West! This place is a hidden gem! We have the sweet potato waffles & pork belly with mushroom broth! Both are delicious đ they have plenty of car spaces and very quiet area to chill with friends and family.
Itâs been such a long difficult time for me to find a nice cafe to starting the smoothie positive day. Until one day morning went out the gym and smelled something. The fine cafe just there. Was surprised me a lot as you actually could just feel the difference with other coffee shop. You really feel you should more respectful more greatly for what they show to you, the flawless food the coffee and the moods. Appreciated, a place must go.
Love the coffee and food there! Especially the carrot cakes Iâd say itâs 10 out of 10:)). Kids friendly, my son loves using his special kids cutlery set there!
Itâs clear that Bean Smuggler is no ordinary cafe. With a creative and well-executed menu, this brand new eatery aims to offer a modern and refined approach to traditional breakfast for Melbourneâs growing West.
We were very much impressed with the quality of the food here, though just kept wishing there was just more of it on our plate.
Nice and cozy little gem in the west, coffee is really good, food is exceptional.
Jack the owner/chef is taking modern Australian brunch to another level, adding his own twist to local seasonal foods. Play with texture, flavor and color.
Must to try, you won't regret!
This little cafe is amazing. Serving up the highest quality coffee and really delicious food on the west side of Melbourne. Small cosy cafe but has massive outdoor dining area which is perfect for a sunny day to bring our dogs out. They serve ârealâ food, not just for instagram like other cafes seem to be doing. Simply well presented and delicious ! Miso cured salmon with crispy mushroom risotto and smoked egg was the best brunch dish I have ever had in my life
Service was really quick and staff were friendly. The cafe is cosy and cute with a chill, relaxed vibe. I got the mushroom forest and I was so happy to see the generous amount of mushroom. I would definitely be coming back for it again!
So in love with this little local cafe the service is second to none and everything else from coffee to food is even better. I love that I can go to a cafe and enjoy food for the flavours not the over done garnishes!!!!
The best coffee in Point Cook finally somewhere that does specialty coffee properly. They open early enough for me to get my coffee on the run to work too which is always a plus! Canât wait to work my way through the menu.
Cannot fault this cafe. Coffee here is absolutely spot on. The service is a highlight along with a great range of beverages. Can't get enough of their food! Bean Smuggler is not to be missed.
Very excited I found this little gem!
Absolutely love this spot, best coffee in Point Cook by a mile. Food is unlike anything in the West. Very very impressed.
Great coffee & Great food and very friendly Barista!! Highly recommend this place if you come to point cook and looking for a great place to have coffee!!!
Delicious food: Mixing flavours that arenât standard, enabling us to move out of our comfort zones and experience something delightful. Wonderful staff makes for a warm and inviting space. Extra points for lots of people bringing their dogs!!!
The food is great, really interesting and always have new things to try. Great coffee. Staff are friendly. Favourite place to eat - weekly.

Finally, a Point Cook cafe willing to take risks. Excellent coffee that gets refreshed regularly, food that keeps you interested and wanting to come back to try the next inventive dish, and friendly and consistent service.
They served very nice latte and matcha. Ordered a prawn and chorizo and green tea waffle for our brunch and it tasted great and well presented.
Service was pretty quick, and staff were very friendly.
Will be happy to come back!
Stumbled across this gem when we were in search of a good brunch spot around the south-western suburbs. We are so happy to find that this place actually serves fresh and honest Melbournian breakfast/ brunch dishes. Weâre now an avid Bean Smuggler! Everything in the menu is so meticulously prepared and tastes delicious. Perfectly poached egg, every single time! Coffee is great and they serve seriously good green tea! Overall a great dining spot: delicious food, super friendly staff, and cozy ambience.
Great food and coffee. Who would have known that watermelon goes with broccoli?! Nice ambience. Very friendly staff. The place to go in Point Cook.
Good coffee, comfortable atmosphere.
The overall food composition and harmony were good. Of course, it tasted so good.
Best brunch cafe is point cook
Small cosy place. Friendly service and beautiful food. Nice place to enjoy a cuppa and some light dish. Spend some lazy days here and you will definitely love it.
The food here is amazing. I had scrambled eggs, which looked more like a folded flower, which was so rich and creamy. With a side of mushrooms which (unlike some places) were huge mushrooms, seasoned perfectly.
The coffee was also outstanding, so much so I found myself ordering another, which I hardly ever do.
Will be back.
Randomly popped into this lil cafe and had excellent lunch. Prawn and chorizo scramble worked so well together and the bisque sauce was killer. Menu looked very interesting and keen to come back. Very polite owner đ
Cosy nice cafe!Â
But the food presentation, quality and price is just perfect!
I would come back here again even though I live 40 mins away!
Jack is one of the brilliant and humble chefs in Melbourne. It's been 3 years that I have enjoyed his foodies in Melbourne. Since then I haven't argued with his food! Because always his food satisfies my mouth and soul. Also, when I heard that he won the chef competition in Sydney a few months ago, It wasn't surprised me. I knew he is one of the best chefs in here. It was surprising that when I had his coffee in his shop a few weeks ago. He added one more ingredient that he can handle it. His collection of the coffee was so right for me and I loved his new version of the salmon dish as well. I live in the city but there is no doubt at all that I will be there with my friends. You're the best!
An excellent brunch place hiding in Point CookïŒNice creamy coffee and mushroom forest tastes very good. Staff are friendly and ambience are cosy. Definitely will come back to try the rest of dishes.

This place is a bit small but tidy. The staffs are super friendly and attentive. Good coffee, food was really tasty. The only fault I could find was the fried egg a bit overcooked in my mushroom forest. Left with a satisfied tummy and will return for other items on the menu.
The place is a bit small but has very yummy food, reasonable priced and good coffee. And itâs so close to home, will definitely go back to try some more options on the menu
Had lunch here with a girlfriend today. Thought weâd try somewhere new. The menu although small had us excited. Staff were friendly and our meals wonderful and very large servings. Weâre already planning our next visit. So many things we want to try.
Bean Smuggler last weekend. As a confessed coffee snob I'm happy to say I love this place.
Five senses beans and a great barista!
Left - the mushroom forest. Right - poached eggs on multigrain sourdough, lime avocado, and bacon.
Rare find in Point Cook! Great coffee, beautifully presented food that taste as good as it looks and friendly service. Will definitely recommend to friends and family.
What a fantastic food!! Delicious, healty even for dieters :p Chicken breast melting in my mouth! I love it. Coffee lover must have to try their specialty coffee as well. Definitely I am going to visit here again.
I go to Bean Smuggler nearly every day for my daily dose of caffeine and am never ever disappointed. The staff are soooo friendly and the coffee is divine. I also absolutely love the sweet potato waffles which I have now had 3 times. Highly highly recommend đ
The cafe is run by an award winning chef which we could clearly see in the presentation and taste of food.
.
The menu had good variety to choose from and we went with:
âą Miso Salmon : this was definitely cooked and presented to perfection. Such neat presentation with amazing flavours. A must try.
âą Wild Mushrooms : the mushrooms were perfectly cooked and comes on Sourdough bread with egg, carrot and greens. Another amazing one.
âą Chicken chilli Sandwich : even the flavors of the simple sandwich were amazing. Plus the Hassel potato just added more flavour and interest to this.
âą Drinks : we ordered mango smoothie and Mimosa (yesss they have cocktails from 9am! )
.
Overall an amazing experience and we would love to go back again and again.
Iâve been a customer of Bean Smuggler since they opened a few years back! I have always received excellent customer service, and a great welcome from Jack and his team. They always make an effort to get to know their regulars, and are swift to process orders. Their coffee is undoubtedly the best in Point Cook, and their menu most impressive! Prices are also very reasonable for the quality of the produce provided. Definitely recommend anyone who hasnât yet tried it, to do so đ
I love coming to this cafe, I find myself blown away by their food, coffee and their service after every visit!
The sweet potato waffle is the perfect level of sweet and is a must try! The outdoor seating is perfect for bringing my dog.
My new daily stop!
Espresso shot was perfect, accompanied with a refreshing cup of sparkling water. Super friendly service and âŠbanana bread was so so good too! Thank you!
First time customer and happy with the experience. All of our food are delicious. Sliced roast beef with Turkish bread was really good as the meat was soft and tender. While the Hassel potatoes were undercooked and not much season on it, They promptly replaced it and it was cooked to perfection. Highly recommend.
Phenomenal coffee and food here. Also loved the atmosphere and the customer service was fantastic. The food is full of flavor but always equally balanced. We would come here again!
