Master Shifu is a local gem known for its bento boxes. For those who have a hard time selecting what they want on any Japanese menu, their bento boxes have it all. They are generous in their servings and are full of flavour. The interior of the restaurant is clean and spacious. I'll definitely be returning.
Walked in to a pleasant setting and a quick but friendly greeting by the owner. They were quite understaffed but we managed to capture their attention when needed. Entres came out a little slow but well worth it, the sashimi was fresh and tasty. I had the dan dan ramen which is suppose to be spicy but was not even a little spicy, it was however flavorful which picked up the broth to my liking. Would reccomend this restaurant 👍

We visit quite often and always find the sashimi to be fresh and service on point. Bento boxes are great value for money. Love the sashimi platter complete with scallop & clam sashimi!

A very nice Japanese restaurant located in point cook (5min away from Point Cook stockland) their unagi rice was beyond expectation and staff was so friendly. Their portion totally worth every single penny.
Awesome food! Love the place. Go there regularly. Can't understand why it is closed on Sundays, the busiest day of the week for restaurants?
Staff are very friendly and approachable. The food was amazing, I had the Salmon Don which was like deconstructed sushi and it was delicious the rice was seasoned to perfection and sufficient amounts of vegetable and raw salmon. Also tastes the Curry don was so full of flavour and tender meat. I went for a birthday and they were very accomodating by providing candles for the birthday cake and even provided complimentary sweet desserts such as mochi. Overall had an excellent experience would definitely recommend to everyone.
Food was well presented in an array of great choices available.
Ambience had a friendly atmosphere that matched the theme of the restaurant. Family friendly.

We had to wait quite a while for our food and there was over an hour gap between our mains and entree. However, the food that we did have was great and the serving sizes were huge! Definitely good value for money.
Had a Saturday lunch here. The food in general is quite good. I would highly recommend the raw sashimi rice. The Pork Tonkatsu Bento is also ok, but the pork is bit overcooked, crispy enough but very hard to bite. My daughter finished all 5 Gyoza, so I would think it's good too.No complaints to the service, just be patient when there are more customers. Would definitely come back to try some other dishes.

Bento boxes were nice and quiet filling.
This place seems to be on the up and up. Everything was fresh and tasty and the service was very good. All the sauces and dressings were delicious, we wanted something healthy and not too pricey and that's what we got. One minor quibble, we asked for vegetarian for our son but the agadashi tofu had bonito flakes on it and we think the tofu in his ramen was the kind that's flavoured with fish. Please people fish is not vegetarian! They need to watch this as for many people that would have been an instant turn off....
The staffs were very friendly. They usually have special price for lunch and their bento box were generous. Came here first time with a group of friends, and had given a complimentary seaweed salad. Since then every time I come here, I always order the seaweed salad. Good marketing! Keep it up. :)

Found this place on here and was amazed with their menu, we call to hook a seat and got it straight away on a Saturday night 👍🏼
The food was delicious and fairly generous, we had a bento box each which came with a miso soup. For only $15.90 each plus we added a sashimi/sushi platter and 3 side dishes plus drinks lol. We were so full haha

Great local spot, the chef is always there when we go in to serve us and is very helpful. I always get the vegetarian maki roll which is delicious and presented beautifully. I would also recommend trying the bento boxes which are equally good. Awesome Japanese food considering the location.
Firstly, restaurant looks awesome as you walk in and are greeted by friendly staff. Secondly the food was presented well and full of taste! and completely worth the price. Only downside was there was no air conditions but did become helpful enough to place a fan within the area of where we were seated
Good atmosphere, large portions! I had the vegetable tempura udon which was delicious, I liked how they presented the vegetable udon on a separate dish from the noodles which meant my tempura was not soggy.

My hubby and I ate here a couple of weeks ago and going back again this evening. I have only ever eaten Sushi so was ignorant to other Japanese food. It was lovely. Fresh and bursting with flavour. The menu was varied and included something for everyone, spicy, not spicy, sushi, bento box, something a little adventurous. It was well priced and in my opinion a great value meal.
The restaurant was clean and comfortable with a nice relaxing ambience and the waiting staff a pure delight, most concerned that we should have a great experience.
We were glad we tried it and recommend it to all our friends - we loved it and it will absolutely be on our regular dining list!
Delicious every time. This our favourite Japanese restaurant. The food is consistently good and great service every time. They are also child friendly. Sashimi is always fresh and all the meals are full of flavour.
Pleasantly Surprised. Have only tried this place the once but my wife and I were pleasantly surprised... Had some Kar Age Chicken, Soft Shell Crab and 2 Bento Boxes.. For the price and location we will go here again... No where near the best but hits the spot without a long drive to somewhere better..

Im a fussy eater and i find this place fantastic i had for the first time in my like ox tounge sounds yuk but damn it was amazing with chilli and this fried rice that i crave also the sushi if u get it fresh made to order it was fantastic even just the rice with egg and onion i like somthing about it :) i would recomend this place but remember i dont like fish so i havent tried fish here

Best Gyu Tan Don in Point Cook. When compared with other 'japanese' restaurants in Point Cook. This restaurant fares well. In fact, the best I know in this area. The place to go to if you want some simple japanese cuisine.
However, I must admit that there are far better japanese restaurants around Melbourne if you are willing to commute.
As for me, I come here to satisfy my cravings for Gyu Tan Don.

Have been a couple of times - will be good when the liquor licence comes through.
Some of the dishes are reasonably authentic but avoid the teriyaki - far too much sauce and weird mixed veges.
Tempura is ok, bento boxes are good value.

Pretty good for a quick lunch!. The restaurant opened a few months ago and I've always been meaning to go and had a chance to pay a visit yesterday for lunch. I ordered the sukiyaki beef bento, it came out pretty quickly, had plenty of food and it tasted great. The bento came with three tempura pieces, a big ball of rice, a heap of beef, a bowl of miso soup and 5 slices of different fruits to finish it off. It isn't the greatest Japanese place I've been to, but for a small set up in a quite suburban area it was enjoyable.
I look forward to visiting again for dinner and ordering a larger variety of food, hopefully it doesn't disappoint.
It's a good little restaurant to go to. I've been there at least 5 times and the food has always been great. I get the bento boxes and sushi rolls. So yummy!!
Had dinner there last week and was impressed with the food, service and set up of the place. Had the eggplant as an entree and beef don as a main which was quite tasty and would rate the quality of food with the finer Japanese restaurants I have dined at. The price was also very cheap and I would definitely be going back again. I'm sure they will continue to improve once they become abit more established. A good addition to the Point Cook area

Tried there. Brilliant taste and good price! Have to say the service wasn't great, but acceptable. Had a chat with their boss, a lovely guy who just moved to Aus few months ago. He's keen to improve their service and waiting time. Respect hard working people! I will definitely go back again.
In short, waited 30mins for takeaway which was only 2 dishes. The whole the I was sitting waiting I could hear a cook yelling in the back. Food wasn't to bad, if you remove the waiting and yelling I'd think about going back.

Our favourite Japanese restaurant in the West! Delicious meals every time we order (dine-in and take-away), generous servings and makes reminiscent of our times in Japan. We're always greeted with a friendly smile and service that always gets us coming back.
This is without a doubt one of the best Japanese restaurants we’ve ever been to. Very very fresh and consistently beautiful food. We are locals and come here every week. The owner is an absolute gem, the service is impeccable, the sashimi is the most FRESH and tender I’ve ever had. We’ve dined at top end restaurants but somehow the food here is on the same level, at decent pricing.
It was such a pleasure to dine in Master Shifu today. The miso soup is very savoury and flavourful. Super crispy yet free of grease, the tempura is heaven on a plate. So glad to find such an authentic Japanese restaurant in Melbourne's west.
We ordered Beef curry, Pork curry, Chicken soup (udon), and grilled beef for entree as well as the seafood pancake.
If I could, I’d give 4.5 Star.

I cannot just manipulate the words to live up to the amazing skills of their chef. I have tried the same dishes in many other restaurant and this was among top two. If you are meticulously attentive to details, you will see how delicately the ingredients are chosen for each dish.
4 Stars for quantity:
Too much rice and a bit not generous amounts of curry. Still I will go back regularly.

The Katsu Chicken Ramen was delicious. The broth had the right depth of flavours and the chicken was crunchy. A must try.
