We've stayed here three times and love it. The rooms are large and comfy and equipped with everything you might need, and because there are so few rooms, half the time it feels like you've got the place to yourself. The service is excellent: the staff are smiling and accommodating no matter what you need; the pre-dinner cocktails are a nice touch; and we were very impressed when we got back from breakfast to find our room had already been done up in the half-hour or so that we'd been away.
The only improvement I can think of is if the restaurant had a separate lunch menu. We like to spend a day just enjoying the place and doing nothing much; relaxing by the pool, having massages, not going anywhere; and that means having both lunch and dinner in the restaurant. When it's the same menu and a minimum of two courses each time, it can be a bit much. That said, the food is superb and I forgave them the lack of a light lunch menu the moment I tasted my scallop starter :) For relaxation and indulgence it doesn't get much better than this.
Room and provisions are everything you could want, complimentary wine on arrival, cocktail the next night, reasonably priced mini bar, wood fire airconditioning king size bed spa just love the accommodation. Close to everything in the Hunter Valley, staff friendly helpful and competent. The restaurant was lovely - great friendly attentive staff reasonably priced great food and we loved the complementary dish offerings at dinner and at breakfast. I'm definitely coming back-this may be my Hunter Valley go to place!

We have spent the last few days out here being pampered & it has been extraordinary! From the house to the suite it has been great! Everyone of your staff are amazing & we are extremely greatful to have been able to spend our wedding week out here with the Spicers Family! Breakfast & Dinner at Botanica has also been superb! The service is fantastic & the food to die for!

My husband and I just celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary there and it was absolutely amazing. The staff were wonderful, the champagne and chocolates on arrival, the welcome drink and the dinner at the restaurant was fabulous. All 3 courses were outstanding along with the extra starter and finishing dessert. Nothing could be faulted, highly recommended to anyone looking for a great weekend away.
My wife and I celebrated our 19th wedding anniversary at Restaurant Botanica. The experience was devine. The staff and food were amazing, the atmosphere was excellent and the prices of the meals are reasonable. We felt very spoilt. Thank you.

We enjoyed an outstanding Cab Sav from Margans by the fire and then had only two course which were very generous portions ..for mains we had their lamb and the beef cheek and both were superb. Lovely and attentive service from all the staff.

Lovely experience. The staff are really sweet and nice making you feel super welcome. We enjoyed some drinks by the fire before our reservation which was quite nice. We had the three course meal which was $130 pp. We decided to enjoy the 800g rib eye which was an extra $100. That was acceptable because it was a big cut of meat.
Unfortunately the mains took so long that we ended up eating our mains close to 10pm. The staff were kind enough to send a plate of food complimentary as we were quite hungry. Once the rib eye did arrive it was amazing and we gave our compliments to the chef for the outstanding meal.
The wine list was pretty expensive which was a shame but overall a good experience and lovely staff. Would defiantly recommend as a special dinner when away in the Hunter valley.
Lovely venue with amazing food and scenery. The three course vegan lunch was outstanding and there are two choices for each course. Every bite was full of amazing flavours and so fresh. Staff are all wonderful and knowledgable. Great wine list. I can not wait to go back and try the dinner menu and lunch again of course.
As always, Restaurant Botanica never ceases to impress. We arrived for our 7:30 dinner on Tuesday night and we swiftly greeted and lead to the warm fireplace seating area as our table was being prepared. I ordered their signature old fashioned and I have to say; this was one of the BEST old fashioned cocktails I’ve ever had! For dinner we ordered the zucchini flowers to start, followed by the Nicoise Salad and garden salad as entrees. For mains we had the chicken Ballantine and also the lamp rump. For dessert, the apricot cake and the banana and coffee sorbet. Phenomenal, intricate, delicate and of course, delicious. The food here is not only carefully balanced, but presented so beautifully that you don’t want to wreck the piece of art on a plate!! A definite must when you’re visiting the Hunter! We’ve been twice now.
Delicious food, stunning view, impressive wine selection. About 60% of the food a has gluten-free option. Would love to see more gluten free but the food is so tasty and beautiful presented that I still recommend it.
Restaurant Botanica, Hunter Valley
A One Hat restaurant on Hermitage Rd Pokolbin on a vineyard. Really nice atmosphere. You walk into an inviting waiting area lit up by a fireplace. Then you can have a drink by another fireplace close to a well stocked cellar. The timber tables and surrounds, and glass windows produce a beautiful atmosphere. We were greeted and served by a very professional and friendly waitress by the name of Thalia, can’t thank you enough for looking after our family. The 3-course dinner was amazing as was the wine paring selections. I’d highly recommend them.

I would highly recommend everyone coming to the hunter valley to book a dinner at Restaurant Botanica. We managed to sit at the corner table which has the best views of the vineyard. Every dish was cooked to perfection and we loved every single one of them. The sourdough ice cream is a must try.
Returned again to this excellent Hunter Valley restaurant and again really enjoyed it, this time with our family. Beautiful three course lunch, friendly service and pick of the local wines. Highly recommended.
Really enjoyable experience. Great view, service and exceptional food. The beef tartare and Ceviche starters were full of flavour.
The highlight was the dessert. Both the Snickers and the Paris Brest, which was a special were excellent.
