What a wonderful dining experience our group had yesterday!! The food and staff were exceptional to say the least - not to mention the spectacular views. I would highly recommend Leogate Estate Wines to anyone for a superb meal.
Our favourite place in the vineyards. We have lunch there every time we go. Amazing food, gorgeous views, beautiful building, friendly staff and best of all picked up a dozen 3 vat wines and saved 160.00!! Love this place you have to try it.
Fantastic place for lunch. Wonderful staff-especially John. Magnificent dry aged beef with some lovely wine. Terrific outlook and would definitely return when back in the Hunter Valley. Highly recommended.
We were apart of the Rothwell wedding yesterday and were really blown away with everything... The beautiful location, the service and the food were amazing. Definitely recommend for people to call in and check it out, we will absolutely be back.

I have had the pleasure of tasting several of Leogate's wines and I have to say that I have been blown away by the quality of wine being produced. Their Brokenback Shiraz has to be one of the best Hunter valley shiraz's available, a stunning wine and great value. I'm not surprised that Leogate's wines are now being served in Qantas First and Business class cabins. Truely showcasing one of Australia's great vineyards.
The cellar door were both very professional and helpful, such a pleasure to be served by such knowledgeable staff. Definitely will be going back.
What a great afternoon spent at Leogate! We were only meant to be there for 30 mins & we left 3 hours later. The staff were fantastic & Roger who done our wine testing was amazing! He really knew all about the wines & the stories behind the estate. The food was amazing & everything made fresh on site. Great afternoon & well worth a visit.

Wow what a sensational winery! Vanessa was so welcoming and looked after our group so well, what a gem. We also met Vicki (who was the owner) and we were lucky enough to get a tour of the place. What a beautiful place Vicki has created. The wines were great and I will definitely be back and can't wait to enjoy the wines we brought back with us!!
I had my wedding menu tasting yesterday and all I can say is OMG amazing!!!! The food was absolutely incredible so tasty and delicious. The staff were all so friendly and attentive. I am so excited to have my wedding at this venue it's going to be an amazing day!!!
Wow! Beautiful location, delicious meals, knowledgeable and friendly staff, and the estate itself was spectacular! We had a wonderful xmas work lunch here and everyone loved it!

Absolutely 5 stars, We had our New Year's Eve dinner here! 5 course for $150 with reserved wines. Food was amazing,service was wonderful and to top it up, the fireworks after dinner, a nice finish to our year! I would definitely come back and also recommen this place!
On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of our organisation, we booked 65 people for lunch at Leogate Estate Wines where we had the pleasure of not only tasting 11 of its superb wines, but over the course of an hour and a half we were informed and entertained by Chief Winemaker, Mark Woods.
This all occurred in a large marquee within the colonnade of the estate, which has beautiful wine country views. Mark’s introduction of the estate owners, Bill and Vicki Widin, his informative presentation of each wine coupled with his many years of experience and obvious pride in his staff and their achievements, made us feel we were VIPs. The entire experience was well beyond what we had expected. The service and civility was first class, echoing Mark’s rightful pride in the staff and the whole Leogate Estate Wines operation.
Following the wine tasting we moved into the Crystal Room for our three-course luncheon. Beautifully set tables with generous circulation area complemented the décor of the room. The fare provided by Executive Chef, Paul Crookson was of excellent quality and ample portion. The wait staff were professional in every facet of their responsibilities. At the conclusion of our luncheon Mark called on the chefs and staff to be present and introduced them to us, whereupon we gave them a well-deserved standing ovation. For something close to six hours our members were pampered with professional service and treated to excellent wines and superb food.
To the management and staff of Leogate Estate Wines we convey our respect for your professionalism and our heartfelt thanks for a day we will long remember - 65 members of Newcastle Oasis Club.
We have been twice now & the friendly service is outstanding as with the wines, so many of my favourites. I would highly recommend.
Was on a tour and this was fav spot to go by even had to come back next day and enjoy this great spot
Great and attentive staff
We did a walk in hoping they would take us (2adults, 2kids) in as it was late about 2+pm. They graciously welcomed us in and told us to take a seat.
Kids had colouring material and we had a lovely chat with the waiter.
We started with warm bread and butter. The 2 kids devoured everything within mins. Had to shamelessly ask for another serving for us and they obliged with a warm smile!
We ordered the Grass Fed Chateaubriand 600g (steak for 2). It was truly amazing! Steak was cooked to perfection and it was mouthwatering. Kids gobbled up their share of steak within mins, true testament of how delicious it was - without any sauce for the kids!
Dessert was a lovely way to end our meal.
Thank you to the warm hearted and smiley staff there. Will definitely be back again!
I can’t understand how this restaurant has had reviews lower than 4 stars. Must be personality clashes or something.
For me this restaurant delivered a true 5/5 for the quality of their food.
The pork belly starter was phenomenal.
The chateaubriand and eye fillet they served up were absolutely delicious.
The desserts were insane, in a very good way.
The side dish, hardly ever mentioned in reviews, completely astonishing. Pumpkin covered in chilli and feta and I think some glaze perhaps? Not sure, but it was the best side dish I’ve ever had.
(I’ve been to restaurants in over 40 countries so this is saying a lot)
The service was pretty friendly. They went out of their way to explain the menu and different options for us.
The grounds look really nice but where we sat in the restaurant was a let down on the whole experience, hence the lost star. Pretty bland and boring, had us wishing we were sitting elsewhere.
Had to pay $150 to book a table beforehand (correct me if I’m wrong as can’t remember the total). I think this is a bit of a stretch and sets expectations a bit high considering what we got as a table.
All in all, for my experience, I’d rate this restaurant a 4.2/5.
Beautiful lunch to celebrate our 28th Wedding Anniversary. Thanks for the beautiful food especially the steak and dessert Bombay Alaska. Nice bottle of your 2021 Semillon. Great views of the mountains and vineyards. Top afternoon.
We recently visited this restaurant from Sydney as a last minute booking, and as vegetarians we weren't sure what was in stall, but all I can say is our experience of the service, food, flavours and value was 5 stars. All vegetarian options were delicious I especially loved the caramel-miso pumpkin, the ricotta and pumpkin pasta, the blue cheese and pear salad and both deserts were the best we've had. Very talented chefs in the kitchen and very accommodating waiters and waitresses. Overall a very positive experience for our first visit and we will be back for more.
Our first time here and boy was it worth it . What a fantastic meal . The staff were fantastic and John our host was a laugh and really made it a even better experience . This really is fine dining . All the extras between meals . That Chateaubriand just melted in your mouth . Didn't bother with more photos as was just really enjoying the meal . If you are in the Hunter 100 % do your self a favor and have a meal or your special dinner here . You wont be disappointed .They have kids meals and even our 6 yr old got a fruit juice in a champagne glass on entry . My biggest regret was that we didn't get a better wine to really top the experience . On this trip we ate at Eremo , Botanica , Hunters quarter , Yellow billy and the Gates . The Gates and Eremo were our faves . See you in a few months when we are back .
Flying in via helicopter being greeted with a glass of bubbly was simply an amazing experience!!! Great company, great wine 🍷 and one of the best steaks 🥩 I’ve ever had made it a very memorable day!! Also absolutely wonderful staff!!! They treated us like royalty 👸!! 😀😀

OMG this should be a todo for for everyone. The 5 course degustation menu was amazing. The chef and his team outdid themselves. Our server KerrieAnne looked after us amazingly. The wine pairings were amazing. It was just the best!
