Review Elements Bar And Dining - Pokolbin

We couldn’t fault this restaurant. I phoned yesterday to book a table and Sarah was so lovely and efficient. We wandered in at the allotted time and Tracy showed us to our table adjacent the window with a lovely outlook. We made our selections from the 2, or 3 course menu and thoroughly enjoyed the next 90 minutes as Tracy and Michael looked after us beautifully. There certainly were a number of other people in the restaurant, some of whom were a little expectant but the wait staff managed all the personalities beautifully. We left totally satisfied and content. The food was absolutely divine and is a credit to Michael, the head chef. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this venue to anyone wanting a relaxed evening. Very well done elements. We’ll be back.

Worst meal I have eaten in a long time. Entree was not as described in menu. Steak was super dry and tough. Creme brûlée was scrambled and not pleasant with sour berries and ice cream that was far too icey. To top it off got the view of a dead bird outside for dinner. Complained to the waitstaff who said they had asked someone to take care of it and yet no one did for our entire dinner. Staff were nice enough to discount the meals at the end of the night but overall not a pleasant experience.

Perfect dining experience. We were greeted warm and friendly staff. We had an amazing waitress, wish I knew her name, who recommend we try the verdello from Oakvale estate. The wine was sublime as it complimented our meals. We loved the wine that much we drove to Oakvale estate the next day and ordered a case of their delicious wine. Thank you to that amazing waitress and the elements restaurant.

A solid ‘avoid’. Menu was nothing imaginative and the quality was really poor for the price. Certainly wouldn’t call it French. Had scallops, wagyu and crème brûlée. Fiancée had gnocchi, pork belly and pear Melba. Scallops were plain and not fresh, wagyu was chewy, CB was basic. Pan fried gnocchi wasn’t crispy, pork belly was too mushy and plain. It was like food you’d get at large wedding - looks good, but prepared with minimum resources. Your experience is going to depend on your dining expectations. It’s a really lovely place, so the atmosphere might make the food seem great to some. If you dine out a lot and are hoping for something special, you’ll be disappointed. Two staff on who were lovely and clearly trying, but were struggling to keep up.

Was able to get a last minute dinner booked in. The staff was very friendly and the service was quick. Seafood chowder was amazing and my favourite meal of the night, must try!!

Absolutely wonderful service!! Sarah and Kisissel certainly made it the best experience for us and we really want to thank them! On what we thought would be a quiet Sunday due to covid we tried many other restaurants without luck, really hoping for something because we had just become engaged within that same hour. Even though we had no reservation and there were only two staff and many tables, they looked after us so well and didn’t leave us waiting. They were so accommodating with a lovely table, celebratory sparkling, delightful service and it was a fantastic meal overall even allowing us to play with the menu. So again, we’re very grateful and they certainly made a big part of our night. DEFINITELY RECOMMEND! And look forward to coming back. Warm Regards, Ebony & Josh xx

Location: In the Hunter Valley (Pokolbin, NSW). Service: Pretty good, not many were inside at the time we were in, but the waitress was delightful & very friendly to chat about her negative experiences. Decor: Nice seats, a decorative large wall mirror with a collective array of wines on display. I noticed the outside ceiling ledges sagging down slightly from water damage underneath the tiles though! Spider webs on lights & paneling outside. Atmosphere: Was good & quiet. Bathrooms: Were big, clean & could probably use an upgrade. Value for money: $62 for a two course meal & the portion sizes were decent but we believe a small salad or vegetables should have been included for the price. Drinks: Very big & extensive wine list. Food: Tremendous flavours with the Prawns with Avocado & dish. Salmon dish with pea puree was cooked perfectively, just lacking a side of veggies or salad. Mushroom tart with a perfectively poached egg & steamed asparugus was very nice! The Scallops was a delight to have as an entree as well. Synopsis: Would highly recommend & would go dine in again! 🙂 AAA+++

Booked dinner here. No one was attending the door and the sign said “Riesling room”. Bread wasn’t served until after the entree and it was clear the 2 waiters were doing a tag-team as opposed to having sections and being able to attend directly to us. Our bread plates remained on the table until we finished our mains, despite there being multiple opportunities for the waitstaff to remove them. Ordered the scallops, gnocchi, pork belly and duck. The scallops were over cooked and the gnocchi were not crispy even though “pan fried”. It was quite difficult to get the attention of or even find the waitstaff during the service and overall the experience was lacklustre. Our plates for mains weren’t cleared for a long time then dessert was served without spoons! It was “raspberry crème brûlée” which turned out to be crème brûlée with some raspberries in it, not a flavoured dessert. Felt like I was getting average food and service but at higher prices. Really disappointed.
